A Highlander man named Erik Modig, born and raised in a small log cabin isolated from any towns, people, races or general civilisation. Located within the taiga mountains in the north west end of Almaris, as a son in a family of 4, a younger sister; Ama, and mother; Klara, who stayed home and kept them warm, and his father; Herleif, who was rarely home only coming back from hunting to help raise him and his sister. Herleif taught Erik from the beginning of his adolescence the standard for manhood, and as a substitute for the position in the family his father couldn't fill, learning to be the worker and provider for his family, developing a deep hearted care for them. Always wanting to be with his father, Erik strived for him to be proud of what he does and to bring him on one of his 'adventures' out west in the blizzards where he disappears to, only to be told "You have to stay here to look after your mother for me, and your sister for your own sake". In the middle of Erik's adolescence, he discovered a basement storage door within the house he'd never known. When he asked his father about it the next time he came home, he told him "There's nothing in there, forget it." before leaving once again. When Erik had grown as an adult at 20 years, his father came back empty handed, in a rush back inside the cabin without a word and opened the basement lock, pulling out a half complete suit of armour adorned in red similar to the red faith, turning to Erik and saying "Put this on, and run as far east as you can... and take this", as Herleif flicks a small brass medallion plate to him. Before having a chance to question, he took off west again with his sword drawn. Leaving behind his family unprepared with the armour and brass his father gave him, Erik struck east towards Alisgrad, only to make it halfway before succumbing to the harsh and cold environment, collapsing and freezing. He finds himself waking up in the Cloud Temple Shrine, although he doesn't remember anything other than his name and retaining his personality, unsure of where he is, who he is and what his purpose is. Noticing the medallion he holds, stamped the words: ᚴᛁᚾᚷ ᚡᚨᚾᛖ ᚠᚱᛖᚤᛋᛋᛟᚾ ᚱᚢᚱᛁᚲ - ᛏᛟ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚹᛖᛋᛏ.
