In his younger years Alexander struggled socializing typically hanging around the village barn where he would participate in helping the farmers care for their animals. This didn't last long however when his village was raided while he was in his teens (16-18) burning him severly and making most of his family and neighbors flee.
During his escape through the winter weather he was soon found by a search party from a neighboring village who took him in where he spent most of his time studying the world and its creatures. when he reaches his late 20's he sat out to live on his own to continue his research fully managing to raise 2 Mountain Lions he had found abandoned next to the carcas of their mother.
Seeking knowledge he went back to the village to search on clues stumbling upon a man transporting others to this "new" land. Alexander being intrigued he flooded the man with questions hearing about places like Norland but mostly got excited when told about the Grand Library of Dragur.
Alexander had asked the man when the next trip would be happening as a time was planned Alexander had hurried home to prepare but left his "pets" at home in fear of public acceptance.
