You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Pulling down her hood as Miya slinked into the tent, her eyes met with the old hag's. She smiled, taking a few moments to look around the tent. Her eyes lit up at the mystical candles and the witchy trinkets dotted around the tent. She knew she had found the woman she was looking for. Miya quickly sat down cross-legged and slipped her gloves off, neatly folding them in her lap as she gazed at the woman excitedly. "I am grateful for you seeing me at such short notice, madam" she gleamed as she spoke in a slightly croaked voice. She had been travelling horseback for several days, stopping at traveller camps or an inn that offered warmth and security on the colder nights. "I need you to help me disappear. I want a new start, a chance at a life I choose, where I won't hurt people; like my father." Miya had exchanged some letters with the old hag, already explaining the situation she needed to escape from, and the old hag had named her price for such an extreme request. Having travelled over from the Kingdom of Norland, Miya was unsure of where her adventure would take her. She had never travelled out of the Kingdom. Her father had kept her reserved, and because of that, she did not know what to expect from the other kingdoms. She had heard whispers of the other creatures that roam the other lands. Dwarves, orcs, even elves, but had always been told they were merely legends by her family. Miya's father is a crooked business owner, managing a business that had been passed down for generations. Her mother, whom Miya had not seen since she was a child, had fled the family out of fear of being hurt by her husband. Once Miya found the woman who had granted her mother this blessing, she knew she needed the same escape for herself. “Where did you say you wanted to go, my child?” The old hag asked gently, placing down what could only have been a dried foot from a bird of some kind that she was making into a necklace. “The Kingdom of Haense.” Miya pleaded, her hands clasping together excitedly. “I have only seen sketches of their docks, and I want to see their grandness with my naked eye.” “And you are willing to make the exchange?” she asked Miya, cocking a brow as she held out a wrinkly, shaky hand. Miya looked down at her hands and pursed her lips, before making eye contact with the old hag and nodding her head.
