Not everybody wants to RP as a generic goody-two-shoed, lawful good, 100% morally serene, hates the big bad empire, parents were in a white rose concentration camp, Aragorn type character. I'd go out on a limb and say the majority of LOTCers want originality. If you want to talk about tolerance, you need to understand that castrating anybody who happens to fall out of that archetype (as you're known to do) also pisses plenty of people off. Far more, I'd say, in fact. You also need to understand that it's not really someone's fault if another guy becomes frustrated and offended in real life over some roleplay on a minecraft online roleplay fantasy server (provided, of course, no server rules are being broken). You really should not be investing any emotion into this to begin with and if you do, again, it's not anybody else's problem. As long as it doesn't involve cybering or metagaming of some sort, I don't really see why we should be restricting any RP.

Though I see your point, I'd like to reiterate again that, in my opinion and apparently most in this thread, anything is better than the Fringe at this point. Take that how you will.

If we had some kind of armistice to put an end to the war we can all agree has been cancerous on all sides, this doesn't sound too bad.

Sounds like the boat idea is taking the lead right now. I think it'll be good. Still, keep on chucking out ideas, gentlemen. As long as you think other people will enjoy it and they're reasonable and constructive in nature, then they're valid here.

Howdy, gents. I think there's a general community-wide consensus that the Fringe is just plain boring for the lion's share of the playerbase. I think it's harder for the staff to correlate to that playerbase, as they're working on developing it and surely making 4.0 the best yet, but that's just my personal opinion. Now, we could do so much better than both rotting on the fringe AND also complaining about how awful it is in thread after thread with some albeit-justified pixel tearage. Why not think of solutions and take some decisive action here? Now of course, there's probably tons of people who will state upon being asked that they prefer the temp maps, but overall, it sounds like the majority are sick and tired of how the current map is. We can do better, I know we can, even if you tolerate the map as it is. How about use a post-apocalyptic, undead-occupied Anthos, Asulon or Aegis, as some kinda new border world that'll lead over to 4.0 when it's done? It'll give us some new purpose, spark some activity and might clear up the vast OOC-diplomatic problems the nations are facing. They'd also serve as a blast through history for people who joined after those maps. I think most of us got real lives to keep us busy, but that doesn't make the fringe any less boring. That said, let's refrain from complaining in this thread about how bad (I got that out of the way for you) or mindlessly praising how good the fringe is, and instead focus on finding a solution to keep us happy til 4.0. From what it sounds like, 4.0 is looking like weeks out, based on Viper's post. The best option for us of the normal playerbase is to be constructive with what we've got. All I ask is that both the staff and any weary players hear out the opinions stated in this thread, since what's being discussed about the fringe and 4.0 definitely phases LOTC on an existential level. I understand if folks don't agree with the whole old-map idea, but we still do need to work something out here, so shoot your ideas. Activity IS at stake. Fire away.

Couldn't agree more, Supremacy. There is no problem with fighting back, it's just incredibly ******* boring. Everybody agrees that the Fringe is boring as owt, warfare especially. Also, the fact that many tend to raid when nobody is online isn't a very helpful factor. These raids, mind you, are driven entirely by OOC hatred and grudges and the sole goal is to destroy RP and demonize the enemy. If we can't warclaim, then let RP happen, staff. Nothing to gain in combat on the fringe other than another pixel tear. "give us what we want or ur not being diplomatic :)" Sounds pretty legit.

The Marshal frowns as he is yet again cheated out of manpower. ((Nothing new, tbh.))
