  6. Hello Failorians, I regret to inform you that unfortunately Aevos will be delayed until Saturday, June 3rd due to technical and scheduling issues finishing up Cloud Temple and a few plugin updates. I know this totally sucks but this short delay will allow us to have the smoothest launch possible for what we hope will be one of our best maps yet. - Llir
  7. this is a wild game of gotcha being played on the forums today. next you're going to tell me that vailor was entirely ripped from PMC or something
  8. I'm very sorry that something like this happened, and on behalf of the administration I want to guarantee that we are doing everything we can to assure something like this never happens again. We are already introducing something that will happen to help alleviate the something that is happening, and will provide further updates when our new policy on something has happened.
  9. Anyone is able to craft this item with a gold block and iron block, recipe shape is like shears.

  11. Took a look at the site, it appears to all happen with client-side javascript, no network data is sent to a server. @Wholesome_Thomas
  12. No, Vault is meant for RP items. Farming materials will be available next map.
  13. Post has been updated.. @Valannor just informed me ST are not placing a limit of 2. I'll adjust the code right now! Edit: Done! You can now store notes.
  14. This Vault plugin has been used for every transition since like, 6.0, it's fairly reliable.
  15. Hello Almaricans! Today I am excited to announce the official opening of our Transfer Vaults, your way to bring a travel trunk of items to the next map. Pack your bags everyone, <REDACTED_MAP_NAME> is on the horizon, and map transfer comes soon! What are Vaults? Vaults are a way for players to cache their special items, books, and maps from this map to bring them over to the next map. We have an in-house plugin to make this process as smooth as possible, though there are some restrictions as outlined below. How Vaults Will Work Vaults for many years have been under the use of a plugin, and this map is no different. Items not stored in /vault or /storebook will not be carried to next map! /vault will open up a storage vault where you may store up to fifty-four (a double chest) of items to be carried over to Almaris. You will be eligible to use this command from now up until 11:59 PM (EST) on Friday, May 19th. Once we are on 9.0, to have your vault reviewed, you will type /vault once more, where it will bring up a ticket-like system for vault reviewers to go over. One the request is finished, you may freely access and open your vaults. This should take at most a week. Books/maps/notes may be stored with /storebook all and will be available on map launch. Vault Guidelines Here are the listed limits, information, and guidelines upon the upcoming vaults. General Guidelines Vaults will be 54 slots per-registered-account. Items will all be unstacked in Vaults. Unsigned or Undescribed vanilla items (except banners, drinks, or player heads) will not be transferred. An Unsigned item is simply with no signature. Material items are things like a pvp kit, food, tools, etc Tools, weapons, and armor, may be stored, though must be nerfed so they do no damage beyond half a heart. This is to not interfere with the continued Surge PVP system next map, which can be done with /vault nerf or /vault nerfall. All vaults will be received post-review, post-transition. The descriptions of Alchemy/Botany herbs are being changed, so they may not be transferred over. Books, Maps, and Notes All signed and unsigned books, maps, and notes will be allowed in unlimited transfer, and do not count toward the 54-vault slot limit. There is a separate command, /storebook or /storebook all. After transition books, maps, and notes may be restored with /restorebook Item Removal Guidelines Old or Expired lore items will be removed and wiped from Vaults An “Expired” or “Old” lore item is one which has had it’s lore removed or rewritten. Common magics will include old-rewrite items, Enaction of Yeu Rthulu, or Chi. If an item bears a green “ST-Approved” signature, it is almost certainly fine to take in a vault unless the lore has been shelved or denied. Vague or undescribed items considered lorebreaking would fall under this removal guideline. Examples may include https://prnt.sc/uc88xq , https://prnt.sc/uc89hd , https://prnt.sc/uc89tj , https://prnt.sc/uc8ad9 , https://prnt.sc/uc8cdd . Items of the same genre or type in multiple amounts will be removed. To prevent resource inflation going into the next map, more than two (2) of the same material will not be permitted. This involves things like ST materials, event items, and so on. This does not mean you cannot have twelve swords or twelve event items. It is just putting a limit on specific raw resources such as raw materials, ores, or stacked event items. i.e. If you brought 4 lightstone, 3 lunarite, and 1 carbarum, then 2 lightstone and 1 lunarite would be lost. Vaults FAQ Q: Can I get my friend to take things for me? A: Yes, but everyone’s vault is their own responsibility. This means items will be removed, and players may be disciplined as if the items were their own. You cannot force someone to give you an item back post-transition, so please ensure you only give items to trusted individuals. Q: How long will vaults take? A: It will take at most a week past when vaults are sent in through the ticket system. Q: What if I forget an item or lose an item from vaults? A: The item will be irrecoverable post transition. There will be no “IOU” system or similar, any item not transferred through vaults are considered lost. Q: I’ve nerfed an item but it still won’t let me put it in my vault, or conflicts with another rule, what should I do? A: If the plugin prevents you from storing the item, contact me (Llir#5410) on Discord, otherwise if you have questions concerning the eligibility of lore/magic items, contact squak#8441. Q: I am banned for the vault storing period! Does this mean I lose all my items? A: Please contact me on Discord, depending on your scenario I may be able to help make special arrangements. Q: Will there be compensation for old/shelved or expired lore items? A: No, there will be no compensation or mundane items made. Q: Why can’t I take my unnerfed tools/weapons/armor/items? A: Simply to prevent unfair advantage as there may be changes to the balance of Surge PVP - the same goes for raw resources and food. Any other questions? Please DM me (Llir#5410) or @squakhawk (squak#8441) on Discord.
  16. There's hasn't been any changes to the forums software recently. Perhaps a recent update to your browser is causing the issues. What are you using?
  17. Given it's been a week without any discussion, this thread has been locked. Thank you to everyone who has given feedback on this issue. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me (Llir#5410 on Discord), or any other admin if you have feedback on the policy that was created following this post.
  18. Hey, this is already covered under our Safety Policy. I realize this policy is a bit hard to read, we're working on revising it and should have some updates in the next couple weeks.
  19. Hey all, Following the events last week, we've been working to rectify the flaws in our process. Safety is a key priority, and we want to work rigorously and quickly to protect our community. First of all, while this has always been in our minds, we are adding an explicit goal to our Mission Statement: Community Safety — promote a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding, where all players are safe to engage in the game and the community, free from harassment, discrimination, and harm. With this, we believe we are ready as a community to address general player conduct. Today, we would like to announce the new Player Conduct Policy. In collaboration with members of our community, we set out to write a policy that works towards our mission and that the community can depend on. You can view the new policy here. We hope that what we have can be a solid foundation to build from, though it is of course still open to revisions. We worked with several members of the community on the final draft, though we recognize that what we write can’t be perfect. Although we put considerable thought into what this covers and how it is worded, there may be things we missed or overlooked. Telanir will be sharing some clarifications below, and as always feel free to add your feedback to this thread. This is only a step towards building a sense of safety in our community. We are working on amendments to our Safety Policy and other sections of the rules as well, and are always open to ideas from the community. Feel free to contact me directly on Discord if you want to share your thoughts on these topics, or chat about anything else (Llir#5410). Thank you for helping us do better, Llir and the Administration
  20. What is Sexual Harassment? “Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical harassment of a sexual nature in the community. Sexual harassment does not always have to be specifically about sexual behavior or directed at a specific person. For example, negative comments about women as a group may be a form of sexual harassment. Although sexual harassment laws do not usually cover teasing or offhand comments, these behaviors can also be upsetting and have a negative emotional effect. Sexual harassment can occur in a variety of circumstances. The harasser can identify with any gender and have any relationship to the victim, including being a direct manager, indirect supervisor, coworker, teacher, peer, colleague, associate, or even friend. Some forms of sexual harassment include: Making conditions of employment or advancement dependent on sexual favors, either explicitly or implicitly. Physical acts of sexual assault. Requests for sexual favors. Verbal harassment of a sexual nature, including jokes referring to sexual acts or sexual orientation. Unwanted touching or physical contact. Unwelcome sexual advances. Discussing sexual relations/stories/fantasies at work, school, or in other inappropriate places. Feeling pressured to engage with someone sexually. Exposing oneself or performing sexual acts on oneself. Unwanted sexually explicit photos, emails, or text messages.” > https://www.rainn.org/articles/sexual-harassment It’s natural to form attachments or relationships with people that you spend time with online. You may even develop feelings for them. These feelings, however, should both be given continuous consent and should not be aimed to make others feel uncomfortable in any regard on our platform. If you ever feel pressured or uncomfortable from a person’s interactions with you or another person, then report it. Again, it is better to be safe than sorry.
  21. Player Conduct on Lord of the Craft April 5, 2023 #scope ul li { margin-bottom: 1em; } #scope p { line-height:2; } Forword The purpose of this policy is to outline what we consider unacceptable player conduct on Lord of the Craft, and act as a guideline for both the players and the administration. Safety For our stance surrounding consent and the protection of minors, please see our Safety Policy. Player Conduct Violations Threatening Threatening or harming the physical safety of another player (physical threats, doxxing, etc), regardless of the capability or intent to act on them, is grounds for a permanent ban. Sexual Harassment Sexual harassment, as outlined in its own section of this policy, is grounds for a permanent ban. Additionally, should the conduct violate our policies on grooming, consent, or age of consent, please report it under our Safety Policy. Discrimination Racism, Sexism, Transphobia, Homophobia, or other attacks used in a hateful or targeted manner immediately warrants admin intervention. Harassment Harassment occurs when someone incessantly attacks or targets a player or group with the intent to insult, intimidate, upset, or defame them. Harassment can also occur when someone tries to contact/proposition another player (either directly or through a proxy) when they have been clear they do not wish to be contacted by them. Any form of harassment immediately warrants admin intervention. Sexually Explicit Content Distributing or advertising sexually explicit content is prohibited on LotC mediums*. This may include instances where accessing the content is indirect: Commission pages linked on your profile Discords (or other mediums), regardless if the NSFW areas are restricted or not. Derogatory Slurs Derogatory slurs or comments (such as those surrounding ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation) made in official LotC mediums* is strictly prohibited. Further, using this kind of language on any medium towards members of our community can result in punishment if continued after being requested to stop. Repeatedly using this kind of language towards others can be considered discrimination or harassment, and warrants admin intervention. Slander and Falsification Publicly making false, unfounded, or baseless statements about a member of our community with the intent of affecting their reputation, and/or falsifying evidence in reports warrants admin intervention. Reporting Player Conduct Violations Although we recognize that reporting the above offenses can be difficult for victims, we do require direct reports to take action. This is necessary to ensure we have the proper context and evidence to investigate the situation, and address it in a way the victim is comfortable with. Please direct reports under this policy to any member of the administration, or through an email to [email protected]. Reports may be submitted anonymously to this email, though please be thorough as anonymous reports can be difficult to follow-up on for additional information and context. Reports are kept confidential within the administration, nothing will be disclosed without the consent of the victim. Context Context is a primary determinant in the severity of a report. Investigating context and exploring relevant surfaces is under admin discretion. Every report is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Permanent Bans Lord of the Craft is not the place for your redemption arc. Whilst a permanently banned player may verbalize or display a change in character, they are not entitled to an unban or reconciliation with the playerbase. Appeals from players who are permanently banned under either this policy or our Safety Policy will not be considered. Definitions LotC Mediums Officially, LotC mediums include, but are not limited to, our public staff-run Discords, the public channels of Discords advertised on our platform for community groups, Discords used for large events or war, our game server, our forums, and the comment sections of our social media channels.
  22. I would like to take a moment to offer an apology to the community for the way this situation was handled. I do not believe that I took enough time to reflect on the evidence and make a thoughtful decision on this matter when I first saw it. I failed to do what I had ought to have know from experience on staff, and my inaction on this matter was a disservice to the community that I care so deeply about. After reading the numerous responses from folk upset about our decision and reasoning, I took some time to reexamine the screenshots and discuss the situation with some close friends. I felt awful once I understood the full context and I realized what a severe mistake and misjudgment I had made. I am truly sorry, and I will strive to do better in the future. I reached out to Muna earlier tonight and had an extremely insightful conversation about the safety and culture of our community. This community has grown so much over the years, and just because behaviour was allowed to happen years ago, doesn't mean we can't hold people accountable for it now, as staff. There has been a culture shift, and our rules and policies need to follow. I plan to work on expanding our Safety Policy to cover the areas it falls short, such as harassment, violent threats, and homophobia. None of these behaviors have a place in our community, and no one deserves to feel unsafe or unwelcome in our shared spaces. I want to assure we never need a post like this again; that we will make the right decision the first time. I want to continue having conversations on these issues. If you have any thoughts you want to share on these topics or our Safety Policy, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. Hearing from the community is the best way that I can know how to improve in both my own role, and in what we can do as the administration. My Discord DMs are always open. - Llir
  23. Hey LotC It’s been a minute since our last [Your View], yet as map progress continues steadily we feel confident with the systems and ideas we’ve developed with the community thus far. Once again though, we head to the forums wishing to hear the community's voice on one of the most integral parts of our server… The Mina Economy This post more specifically will be on the Mina-Gain Economy. This part of the economy we speak about is the systems in place which input mina into the pockets of players on LOTC. Currently, one of the only consistent systems for this is by voting, coining itself the term “Voting Economy”. The voting at the moment gives players a maximum of 23 mina a day should they vote every day on all six sites. Many players have voiced aloud their distaste for this system, wishing to see another in its place. With this, as we head into the next stages of our 9.0 development we would like to hear the community’s ideas and thoughts on what approaches should be made for our next map mina-gain economy. Do you think there should be a way other than voting to earn mina? What systems, past or new, do you think could work for mina generation? What concerns do you have with voting, or other forms of mina generation? Anything you would like to say about the current state of the mina economy - say it. This thread is YOUR voice as the community, and we would like to hear from you. We’re all here to collectively work toward a greater and better server together, and no idea is a terrible idea. We hope to see some great minds and collaboration in the replies below! - Map Dev Team
