The Master of Coin reports furthermore that there has been an error in bookkeeping and we allocated more funds than we actually would have had available. Thanks to his timely intervention the worst was prevented and we managed to...” King Thonaqan could not help but think of his former tutor the Archpriest, then Acolyte of Succession to the previous Archpriest. He would talk on and on and on. His gaze drifts to one of the windows in his stony hall of power, where a fresh breeze flows in. It was warm, a mild winter has just passed and a fertile spring and warm, if not hot summer were due expected. Good times, Thonaqan thought just as he was interrupted. “-- liege, forgive me, what would your decision be?” Trying to hide that he just lost focus on his duties, the King looks at the Master of Harmony who was giving him this report. “The Master of Coin has received a direct request from the Warmistress to conduct large scale training exercises and recruit additional troops. He asked me to inquire with you, my liege. Is such a request granted?” Thonaqan rises an eyebrow in surprise. Unusual and willful, Warmistress Theaqui Suppucchi has always been, but normally she came to him directly if she needed funding for something out of the ordinary. “I will confer with her personally. Thank you, Master.” – “At your service, my King...-“ – “Is that all?” Thonaqan interjects, before the ramblings continue. “No, I sti-“ – “Dismissed. Send an envoy to the Warmistress.” the King concludes in a firm voice and as such the Master of Harmony can do nothing but withdraw. As he shuffles out, King Thonaqan gazes out of the window again, into the blue sky where gentle white clouds roll about. I wonder, he thinks, how my old friend down South fares. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-18,000 Quti for 4 farms) Following the ongoing directive of the Warmistress (and after a stern talking by the King), Nidipaquichi Picchu at the Northern End of the Pachaqui basin receives a dedicated mine as well as a craftsmen district for forging arms and armor as well as construction materials as needed for the ongoing expansion to the South. With the supply distance shortened it should easen the process. (-13,500 Quti for 2 Craftsman Districts, -9,000 Quti for 2 Mines) Fueled by the prospective richness of the Pachaqui basin, despite the surprisingly empty land, the Retainer Tuqua Richiqui continues the establishment of a keep in the region. (-9000 Quti & 2 AP for 1 Keep) In order to acommodate the demand of goods in the various cities, craftsmen districts for the less heavy objects are established, with carpenters, potteries, millers, and so on. (-20,250 Quti for 3 Civilian Districts) In the meantime, another 1,000 Warriors and 1,000 Plumed Archers are sent down South. To secure the settlements against any wild beasts or foreigners that may have hostile intent. Dedicated small groups of Plumed Archers go on expedition to scour the lands for tribes, people, realms and riches. (MOD) At Osocchi Appachaqui Archpriest Solameqan Nugguchuqui Payama ordains the first Acolyte as Adept of the Pachaqui Kingdom. He has learned and mastered the use of the spells, and is sent South to join Retainer Tuqua in his ongoing expansion into the new region. (-10,000 Quti for 1 Adept) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-250 Quti) As the impaling spikes spell is concluded the next project for the priests of the Chimuquera is to elaborate on a spell that may mend cracks and damages in stone, as well as reinforce it against impacts and further damage through tremors, impacts and other less mundane means. Reinforce Stone and Earth shall it be named. (Passive, started 868) Past: In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 4, due 868; now concluded)
  2. Turn 4 Year 2204 The United Federation of Skellar Systems are getting contacted by an unknown race this year. Following some first simple exchanges, they introduce themselves as Libellans. Clearly peaceful, their ship that they sent to make contact was a simple exploration vessel, bringing a few peculiarities such as dishes, toys and books filled with unknown words and symbols. Math is something what the two people share though. Already elsewhere other people and species have begun to go beyond their borders, to know about potential neighbours, to find friends, but also foes. One must be prepared to protect his own interest, or grow together as interests may be shared. The Republic of Galaron It’s a breakthrough as the first signals are being exchanged between the colonized worlds of the Republic. Lightyears apart, but now so close, in almost realtime. Quantum Communications will allow the Republic to prosper like never before! Space just got so much smaller for the Galaron. By happen chance the Republic finds rich deposits of Metal easily accessible in an asteroid field in one of their sectors. (+3 M)
  3. Pachaqui Kingdom Population: 10,609,000 Chimuquera (Human) 515 Perasmani (Human) People of note: King Thonaqan Micchuqui – 24 years (Leadership 5, Martial 3, Charisma 5, Arcana 0, Agility 0) Archpriest Solameqan Nugguchuqui Payama – 43 years (Leadership 1, Martial 1, Charisma 2, Arcana 9, Agility 0) Warmistress Theaqui Suppucchi – 29 years (Leadership 4, Martial 6, Charisma 1, Arcana 0, Agility 2) Retainer Tuqua Richiqui – 24 years (Leadership 2, Martial 4, Charisma 3, Arcana 0, Agility 4) --- Cities & Settlements: Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies (capital city) – Low Stone Walls, Trade Depot, Commercial District Nidipaquichi Picchu (city)– Low Stone Walls, Trade Depot Totomachi (city) – Low Stone Walls, Trade Depot, Commercial District Oyopaqachi (city) – Low Stone Walls, Trade Depot, Commercial District Civil Infrastructure: 60 farms (8 nodes) 3 Commercial Districts 4 Trade Depots Trade with Antramar, Kastovia, Aldemaric League, Mer’ak, Tomuk Oburakai, Ardes, Ishikawa, Crimson Order, Mitrovic Empire and Krolestwo --- Military Infrastructure: 1 Castle, 1 Fortress (Start) Armed Forces: 2,500 Medium Infantry (T3 Regular) 2,500 Plumed Archers (T3 Regular) Garrison Forces (cities & fortifications): 1,700 Medium Infantry (T3 Regular) 900 Plumed Archers (T3 Regular) Naval Forces: n/a --- Income: Base: 10,000 Quti Settlements: 3,000 Quti Taxes: 21,000 Quti Commercial Districts (3): 12,000 Quti Trade (10 partners): 10,000 Quti Trade Depots (4): 20,000 Quti Treasury: 0 Quti Expenses: Armed Forces (-20%): 2,000 Quti --- Year 867 “They do not expect good treatment, King.” Solameqan muses to his liege. Young King Thonaqan nods as he glances down from one of the countless terraces of Osocchi Appachaqui, whilst below on the long and winding mountain road a seemingly small line of people wanders up, accompanied by soldiers of the Pachaqui Kingdom. “No, they will not. They are far from home, on foreign shores, on foreign soil. But they are, like us, people of Earth. Mama-Pacha made us equal, and whilst she did appoint some to lead and others to follow, in the end, at the heart we are but her children. These seafarers, whilst they may seek the sea and perhaps even catch a glimpse of it on a clear day to the North, will have to learn that there is something in us we all share. Compassion and understanding. A gift that Mama-Pacha has given us.” The King turns around to head back to the palace, halting a few steps in. “They will not expect good treatment. But they will receive it, no questions asked. Inform the people, master archpriest.” – “Yes, my King.” Life was booming and with newfound prosperity, more Quti than ever came flooding into the treasury from taxes and services. With this new influx of currency however, the King did not retire, he wanted to reinvest it, to continue the growth and prosperity of the Pachaqui Kingdom. For such, in a first step, the basin south of the Chiquimutan Mountains must be conquered. And by that the King appointed his old childhood friend and loyal retainer Tuqua Richiqui for this task. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-18,000 Quti for 4 farms) Furthermore, the King decrees that in light of recent instabilities of the world, the Pachaqui Kingdom must be prepared for a worst case, may it never come. The military armament of the nation is of utmost importance, lest foreign invaders might find it easier (not that conquering or invading their home mountains would be easy) to find a foothold in their land. As such, Thonaqan Micchuqui orders the Warmistress to take care of hte matter. Supported by the King, Theaqui Suppucchi commands local workforces to construct the following: Four new mines are to be built, split up to the cities. Along with the new influx of raw material, four new craftsmen districts are to be established. (-45,000 Quti) South of Nidipaquichi Picchu under the command of Tuqua Richiqui a new town is errected in a fertile stretch of land. The nearby hills and the looming mountains in the distance still give a sense of home to the Chimuquera who are accompanying the retainer in his task. To ascertain the safety of the expedition, they are accompanied by 500 warriors and 500 plumed archers. (-13,500 Quti) ((Edit 24-02-2020: Did not fulfill requirements, only for the record)) Lastly, lest it will be forgotten, the somewhat distant city of Nidipaquichi Picchu on the Northern end of the Pachaqui basin receives a Commercial district. (-9,000 Quti) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-2,000 Quti) In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 3, due 868)
  4. Pachaqui Kingdom Population: 10,300,000 Chimuquera (Human) 500 Perasmani (Human) People of note: King Thonaqan Micchuqui – 23 years (Leadership 5, Martial 3, Charisma 5, Arcana 0, Agility 0) Archpriest Solameqan Nugguchuqui Payama – 42 years (Leadership 1, Martial 1, Charisma 2, Arcana 9, Agility 0) Warmistress Theaqui Suppucchi – 28 years (Leadership 4, Martial 6, Charisma 1, Arcana 0, Agility 2) --- Cities & Settlements: Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies (capital city) – Low Stone Walls Nidipaquichi Picchu (city)– Low Stone Walls Totomachi (city) – Low Stone Walls, Trade Depot Oyopaqachi (city) – Low Stone Walls, Trade Depot Civil Infrastructure: 58 farms (8 nodes) 2 Trade Depots Trade with Antramar, Kastovia, Aldemaric League, Mer’ak, Tomuk Oburakai, Ardes, Ishikawa, Crimson Order, Mitrovic Empire and Krolestwo --- Military Infrastructure: 1 Castle, 1 Fortress (Start) Armed Forces: 2,500 Medium Infantry (T3 Regular) 2,500 Plumed Archers (T3 Regular) Garrison Forces (cities & fortifications): 1,700 Medium Infantry (T3 Regular) 900 Plumed Archers (T3 Regular) Naval Forces: n/a --- Income: Base: 10,000 Quti Settlements: 3,000 Quti Taxes: 21,000 Quti Trade (10 partners): 10,000 Quti Trade Depots (2): 10,000 Quti Treasury: 4,000 Quti Expenses: Armed Forces (-20%): 2,000 Quti --- Year 866 The King’s dream of being shackled to the boulder that threatens to fall into the abyss continues. He is restless and whilst a quiet year has passed with little trouble or action for the Pachaqui Kingdom, Thonaqan Micchuqui is on the lookout. Prepared, ready to react, above all like an eagle. Little of note is to be said for this year as the studies continue under the Archpriest, with the Warmistress patrolling the local mountain ranges with some companies of soldiers. In order to facilitate better relations with the neighbours, considering that the Pachaqui Kingdom must cast its gaze further beyond its borders out into the world, the King delegates some of his most loyal followers to serve as ambassadors for the Kingdom. The realms to travel to receive them first are Antramar, Kastovia and the Ardes. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-9,000 Quti for 2 farms) The remaining two cities, albeit not as common to see trade traverse them, receive trading districts, should one or the other merchant be willing to take the treck through the mountains to the highest city of the world or the city to the Northern end of the Pachaqui basin. (-18,000 Quti for 2 Trade Depots) Totomachi and Oyopaqachi receive a commercial district both, now that foreign trade has been settled nicely, there must also be a designated district and square for the local economy. The same happens simultaneously at the Capital where the old market terraces are being completely renewed, to allow proper conduct of trade, orderly and well visible and accessible for everyone. (-27,000 Quti for 3 Commercial Districts) To the nearby realms of Antramar, Kastovia and Ardes the Chimuqueran people send men and women as envoys, their leaders serving as official ambassadors in order to speak on the behalf of the King should need be. These men and women are some of the most trusted and loyal followers of the young King. (-1,500 Quti) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold, are being sent to the Shogunate of Ishikawa in exchange for 500 servants to work at the city of Osocchi Appachaqui. (-500 Quti for 500 workers from Ishikawa) In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study, year 2)
  5. Turn 3 Year 2203 The nations take their first steps and begin their expansion into the stars. For some, the day of first contact might approach sooner than they think. --- UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The vessel reports back that the colony has found a few easily accessible deposits of metals and minerals, that however are quickly mined and stockpiled. Other than that, there is little of note to be found. (+5 M) On the research front, the additional project for improved kinetic weaponry is met with mixed opinions, as the funding seems to be a bit... low. But the scientists are diligent and can already give the estimate that with CURRENT funding they will reach a conclusion in nine years. The colony reports back, that a foreign ship has briefly appeared in the system before withdrawing, just as it reached orbit over the colony. Hailing attempts went unanswered. Since a government operation can be disregarded, this must be a foreign species not encountered so far. It’s already quite exciting to learn that there might be other races that have achieved spaceflight! The State The exploration procedures continue, a bit more focused, slower, a system at a time. The majority of the reports hold little news, normal systems, abundant and rich in Minerals and potential common Fuel sources. More detailed for sure, analysis of biospheres and planetary particularities included, but nothing extraordinary. However the examination of the homeworld system reveals a previously undiscovered type of metal being present abundantly on one of the many moons of a gas giant. It’s density and molecular structure are beyond anything known and it might be worth investigating! The increase in funding is welcomed by the science and engineering teams allocated to the project. With the additional staff and personnel they continue their research at a faster pace, estimating that they might finish a year earlier if a similar sized funding package is received. The Republic of Galaron A massive cloud of Helium-3 and Deuterium and Tritium are found in one of aforementioned sectors. Civilian contractors are immediately ordered to scoop up as much of the usable fuel as possible. (+10 F) Xylorite is a peculiar element. In its crystalline form it is stable, but once energy in any more concentrated form than mere light and common radiation is brought into it, it triggers a volatile reaction that can lead to substantial release of energy, mostly in the form of an explosion. The scientists know, if they can somehow regulate this reaction, the energy released could be utilized to power ships, vehicles, even cities if need be. Or to arm bombs. They expect a result in three years at current funding. Tjieran Unitary State Unfortunately the exploration vessel is unable to discover any resources of interest this year. Perhaps another year might yield results. The aggressive pursuit of industrial optimization has lead to the update that the project is estimated to conclude a year earlier now, as well as notifying that they are pursuing an estimated increase of 10% in metal production at the moment. It may seem little, but on the grand scale it might be quite convenient. The Ymorian Collective The ships return two weeks before the year is out, bringing reports of many systems, all uninhabitated, except for one world to the east, three sectors from the border that appears to hold a mysterious planet covered in ruins. They had not much time to focus on analyzing it as fuel was short and they had to make the return trip to give a report. The origin of it is definitely unknown. Zyrka Republic A surprisingly quiet year for the Zyrka Republic. The people seem content, and whilst research drags on slowly, the economy is expanded upon, creating more wealth and workplaces. Due to a mathematical error by a random Zyrka clerk in a lot of white clothes, more money appeared in the national funds. He was promptly fired at first when he admitted to his mistake, but upon investigation, nobody was overtaxed or anything. The money was just... there. And the Zyrka in question gone. (+5,000 C) Empire of Sol The scientists are proud to report that with the addition of more resources and staff, they managed a breakthrough in the matter of quantum communications, shaving off TWO years from the original estimate. Next year, the Quantum Communication device shall be ready and operational, ready to be implemented into the national communication grid as well as integrated into all ship systems where possible. This might introduce a new era of speed to them all. Less notable, but still good news, is the information that the Fusion Reactor project will finish a year earlier now. The new metal is incredibly tough to mine and even harder to refine. Itoron it is named for some unknown reason, and the scientists come to love it for its challenge. They demand three years of the current funding in order to finish the studies and make it ready and available for mining, as well as refining and other metallurgical purposes. The exploration vessels encounter nothing of note, except for a series of giant stellar lifeforms that are like... whales in the ocean. They eat stellar gases and solar winds and are docile, even being careful not to damage the comparably small exploration vessels.
  6. Pachaqui Kingdom Population: 10,000,000 Chimuquera (Human) People of note: King Thonaqan Micchuqui – 22 years (Leadership 5, Martial 3, Charisma 5, Arcana 0, Agility 0) Archpriest Solameqan Nugguchuqui Payama – 41 years (Leadership 1, Martial 1, Charisma 2, Arcana 9, Agility 0) Warmistress Theaqui Suppucchi – 27 years (Leadership 4, Martial 6, Charisma 1, Arcana 0, Agility 2) --- Cities & Settlements: Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies (capital city) – Low Stone Walls Nidipaquichi Picchu (city)– Low Stone Walls Totomachi (city) – Low Stone Walls Oyopaqachi (city) – Low Stone Walls Civil Infrastructure: 56 farms (8 nodes) --- Military Infrastructure: 1 Castle, 1 Fortress (Start) Armed Forces: 2,500 Medium Infantry (T3 Regular) 2,500 Plumed Archers (T3 Regular) Garrison Forces (cities & fortifications): 1,700 Medium Infantry (T3 Regular) 900 Plumed Archers (T3 Regular) Naval Forces: n/a --- Income: Base: 10,000 Quti Settlements: 3,000 Quti Taxes: 20,000 Quti Expenses: Armed Forces (-20%): 2,000 Quti --- Year 865 A dream of an eagle soaring high above the mountains, whilst in the valleys below the mountain lions growled up the hills. In between on a plateu with a wide view stood the King, shackled to a giant boulder with shackles of gold. The ground was sloped and the boulder shifting slowly towards the abyss that was formed out of the gaping throats of the hungry mountain lions. The king struggled to move away and higher up, but the boulder drags and drags down. A strange vision the Archpriest noted to King Thonaqan, but perhaps Mama-Pacha wanted to show him where complacency might lead. He must stay ahead of potential threats and keep his head above things like the eagle to maintain a superior outlook. The boulder and the shackles represent the responsibilities and the people that bind the King in duty to them. Upon hearing the wise man’s explanation, the King was ascertained in his intentions and knew what had to be done. Prosperity, peace and security. One step at a time, a plan is forged and set into motion from the highest peak in the Chiquimutan Mountains. He must not hesitate, he must begin now, in his fourth year of reign. The outside world does not wait for him to be ready. Actions: As per decree of the young King, new farmland must be prepared to acommodate the growing demand of food by the steadily growing population. So far the Chimuquera had no issue with their nutrition, but the King does not intend to have it become a matter. (-9,000 Quti for 2 farms) Both Totomachi and Oyopaqachi receive the trade districts required for the merchants from abroad arriving to properly sell their wares. They are strange men, but they are fair and their wares are good and in demand for the people of the Pachaqui Kingdom. (-18,000 Quti for 2 Trade Depots) The remaining Quti, rectangular chips of gold are being stored in the treasury of Osocchi Appachaqui, in order to save it for the coming year, where coin might become much more needed. (-4,000 Quti) In the meantime, the Archpriest Solameqan orders the exploration of the gifts of Mama-Pacha, the powers she has bestowed upon the Chimuquera. The subject shall be the rapid formation of rock spikes out of the ground in a straight line from the caster, to impale approaching enemies. Whilst it seems cruel, it is essential that the Chimuqueran people have the means to protect themselves properly. (Passive study) The King sends missives to officially establish trade relations with the realms that are in range, namely Antramar, the Kingdom of Kastovia, the Aldemaric League, Mer’ak, Tomuk Oburakai (who however is more coming over himself), the Kingdom of Ardes, the Ishikawa Shogunate, the Crimson Order, the Mitrovic Empire and Krolestwo.
  7. Discord Name: You have it. Nation Name: Pachaqui Kingdom, also known as the Kingdom of Earth or the Mountain Kingdom Government Type: Monarchy Magic Type: Elemental Magic – Focus Earth Spells: T1 – Grow Earth Manipulate the ground to summon up low walls and barriers of earth and clay. Depending on the intensity of the spell and the skill of the mage, the amount and size increases. T1 – Devouring Ground Manipulate the ground to make it unstable and mucky like a swamp. Depending on the skill of the mage it can also become quicksand, furthermore the size and intensity of the spell may increase. T1 – Crack and crumble Earthen materials begin to vibrate and crack under the pressure of the caster. Depending on the skill of the arcanist, it may go quicker, larger or more intense. Metals are unaffected at low levels. T2 – Sons of Earth Summon x number of mansized clay figures from the ground, growing in number according to the skill and power of the caster. They are not permanent, but persist until they are released or several hours have passed and their magic no longer binds them together. They can follow simple orders. Leader: King Thonaqan Micchuqui Culture: Human, Chimuqueran History: (more might be added at a later date) Chimuquera stands for People of the Earth. It is a term that was minted when the original mountain tribes merged and the most prominent chiefs agreed to come together as they were more alike than different. Over the past centuries in the Southern regions of the known world they have prospered and guarded the mountains they call home. Whilst they are usually not isolationist in nature, they never meddled in the affairs of their neighbours and kept to themselves. With the right circumstances the people prospered, left alone to their devices and grew to a mighty Kingdom, where the Micchuqui dynasty has held reign over for the past three hundred years. Now, four years after the death of the old King Asimaqan, his son Thonaqan has become King of the Chimuquera. He has established a firm grasp on the internal politics in his years of rule so far and manifested himself as the legitimate ruler of the Kingdom, acknowledged by all. With his basis established he was ready to turn his gaze outward, to the neighbours and surrounding lands, in an attempt to bring fresh wind and new riches to his people. By military conquest or by peaceful trade has yet to be seen. Groups or places of interest: Osocchi Appachaqui, the city of the skies The capital of the Pachaqui Kingdom stands like a proof of grandeur of mankind on the back of the highest mountains of the Pachaqui mountains. An intricate complex of a city with terraces and layers upon layers of stairwells connecting them, shows the ingenuity with which the Chimquera have built their home sky-high, despite the rugged terrain surrounding them. Key Figures (3 people with points): King Thonaqan Micchuqui – 22 years (Leadership 5, Martial 3, Charisma 5, Arcana 0, Agility 0) Whilst more of a mediocre warrior, the young King Thonaqan has soon established himself as a capable statesman and leader within the first three years of his reign. He is a careful man by nature and has always made certain that he holds something in the backhand, to have the last card to play, and in the end, the last laught, so to speak. Where he leads the Pachaqui Kingdom in the future is uncertain and has yet to be seen. Archpriest Solameqan Nugguchuqui Payama – 41 years (Leadership 1, Martial 1, Charisma 2, Arcana 9, Agility 0) The middleaged Archpriest Solameqan is a stern but capable man. Whilst he does not show particular prowess in military matters, he has definitely his place as a trusted advisor and his stern and composed attitude is a necessary counterweight to the energetic and young King. The two share a bond as teacher and student, although more in mundane matters, as the way of the Arcane is still something that is exclusive to the priests and priestesses, King or not. Warmistress Theaqui Suppucchi – 27 years (Leadership 4, Martial 6, Charisma 1, Arcana 0, Agility 2) Whilst she is not very charming, Theaqui Suppucchi has proven to be a capable warrior time and time again and he appointment as Warmaster would have been of little surprise if she had been a man. Still with the intention to prove her abilities to King Thonaqan, with a certain gratitude as well for allowing her to bring her talents to use for the Kingdom, Theaqui pursues perfection in warfare, and to be a loyal and steadfast warrior against all those who may threaten the Chimuqueran people. Point Distribution: Loyalty – 5 Magical Knowledge – 5 (+1 from Human) Technological Expertise – 0 Size – 10 Economy – 0 Sea-Faring – 0 Military – 10 National Idea: Children of the Earth – 10% construction cost reduction on everything. Unique Units (3): Mountain Lion Warrior Trained in the harshest regions the mountains can offer, the Mountain Lion Warrior is fearless and used to shortages of food and water. Extraordinary endurance, paired with unparalelled physical strength are a must for everyone who wishes to become a Mountain Lion Warrior. They are masters in close quarter combat, be it on the highest of mountains or on rolling plains. Stamina and bravery complement these Heavy Infantry soldiers. Pachaqui Slingers Nobody in the world has mastered the art of slinging small rocks with such accuracy, velocity and range as the Chimuqueran people. The slingers of Pachaqui are famous, as these lightly armed men are not only fast, but also deadly in their aim, capable of hitting targets no bigger than a thumb over a distance of fifty meters. Like all Chimuquera, they sport incredible stamina and endurance regardless of terrain. Plumed Archer These archers are the best the Chimuquera can offer. Experts in all skirmishing and archery tactics, they are well capable of outmaneuvering and defeating other archers, be it in contest or in war. Sharp eyes, excellent hearing and a very acute sense for wind allow these men and women to fire their famous arrows deadcenter into every target, no matter how obscured, obstructed or distant it may be. 8. Turn 2 Year 2202 It’s quiet out there. --- Ar’gakari Star Empire The rather cumbersome fleet proceeds on its course South, however little of note comes across their path in the four sectors traversed. The exploration vessel returns as well, having found one or the other habitable fertile world, but otherwise nothing of note. It’s eeriely quiet in this new galaxy, foreign to the Ar’gakari, except for their long range observation from home. The scientists in their ship labs are working steadily on getting a functional Quantum Communication device up and running for the individual ships, to allow for more autonomy and quicker communication, so they do not need to be in the same system at all times. They estimate it to take at most four years. Similarly, the weaponization of the fleet is considered lackluster, and the decision is called to investigate plasma mechanics in more detail, to allow its weaponized use. The scientists expect it to take ten years. Empire of Sol The decision to investigate the possibility for near-instant or instant communication over vast distances has always been a goal for the scientists of Earth. Give it four years and they might come with a first viable prototype of a device, in a first test between Mars and Gaia. Whilst Fusion Energy is not new in principle, the undue invasion and War for Earth forced mankind to continue to rely on the good old fission based nuclear power. Fusion, might solve a lot of the issues fission has however and might be just more reliable in the long run, as gaseous fuel is aplenty in many systems. Six years, picking up where they left off. Given the rich reward, many private prospectors are doing their part with small satellites to survey. Many return with metals common and abundant. Except for one. On an excavation trip, the rusty mining vessel found a highly resilient black ore on Ceres, which has a density beyond the known elements, stable and showing no signs of radioactive decay. Curious, might be worth to investigate. The State Given the vast amount of space to be explored, the crew on the ship is overtasked and only sloppily manage to study the systems whilst flying by. Planets. Gas Giants. They catalogue it all, but with very little detail to what they may hold. A few habitable worlds show up too, but that’s about it. And the exploration ship runs into the issue of being unable to report back whilst en route. A year later and they return with the lackluster result. A faster method of communication, possibly an instant one over such distances needs to be figured out. And the Saryn are steady at it now. Three years. Based on deflector research the scientists pursue the generation of fluidic energy fields that act as a protective barrier against projectiles and energy discharges approaching their own ships. Ten years. The advancement of the Disruptor weaponry is urgent. There is little to say, perhaps the Replicants return, and the Saryn want to be prepared. Eight years. Tjieran Unitary State Space is vast and communication is slow. Something a highly stratified society can not afford, in order to maintain cohesion and stability on its worlds. As such it is imperative that a method of instant communication over light years is found. So they proceed the development of what one would call Quantum Communications. The scientists estimate four to five years. Along with communication, travel speeds need to be reduced to allow for quicker acting in times of need. The scientists state that the Warp Drives may be improved in the coming ten years. Factories, refineries and mining facilities (in this case), albeit already very modern, always have room for optimization. As such the scientists begin to explore from ground up, methods, improvements, what has been missed in the past. They will return with a report in five years. Zyrka Republic The overall ship improvements regarding hull and armor both will take eight years as per estimate. Fortunately the two fields are somewhat related, so the scientists are optimistic that they may share knowledge regarding that. Instant communication for future expansion becomes an essential tool for stability and progress. The scientists also propose that this new type of Quantum Communications should be used in order to allow the exchange of knowledge between research stations and planets to be sped up. They expect it to be done in four years. The accuracy of the olden day sensors has been lackluster in the past. For more accuracy on short range and possiblity to conduct more diverse and deeper scans, the scientists begin in earnest to improve the existing systems. Seven years, they claim. The focused beam of light has come a long way. From a children’s prank toy, to industrial mining lasers, to ship weaponry. As such, the Zyrka always continue to focus on improving it. Ten years, the scientists proclaim. All the while the homeworld is busy drowning itself in research, others are venturing forth to find a new world to call their own, a new addition to the Republic. And indeed, they find a mountaineous, but temperate world, ideal for their people to grow and prosper. THE KALRONIAN ASCENDENCY Laws are to be adhered to. Order must be kept. Rule must be enforced. As such, no time must be lost in this. The solution is a method of instant communication. The Kalronian Chief scientists begin the work on the so-called Quantum Communications Device. Four years. The Heavy Cruiser Hulls at this stage in time have already proved to be a feat of engineering, but going bigger might prove a tough task. And a long one. Twenty-five years is the consensus of the engineers, scientists and military leadership. Groukoxxot Clan The sector shows nothing in particular, aside from a few asteroid fields that are rich in essential metals. (+5 M). Whilst they are a wandering herd, the space they traverse is often so vast, that one end may be unable to contact the other effectively. As such, they require communication methods that are instant and disregard distances where possible. Quantum Communications should be ready in five years. More punch to the guns. All Alduu’uuraneans agree that there is never enough power and recoil in the guns, no matter what size. Nine years. UNITED FEDERATION OF SKELLAR SYSTEMS The severe upsizing of ship hulls is a difficult task to pursue, but the Skellar Forgemasters begin regardless. They expect the designs and structural studies to be finished for an actual construction in thirty-five years. Whilst the colony ship sails away, its last lightspeed communications trickling in as it disappears from the sensors, the scientists back home begin in earnest their studies regarding a solution for Long Range Communication. A theoretical field concerning Quantum Mechanics prove interesting, and the teams are certain, they could utilize such a “quantum plane” to facilitate instantenous communication. In three years. The Ymorian Collective Little is left to be said, what wasn’t said before. In full agreement, the teams of researchers and engineers proceed with their work. The Ion Weapon upgrades ought to take roughly seven years at the current rate, the focused light beams aka lasers, are due in nine years. Structural integrity is a complex subject, but an essential one. Whilst armor takes the hits, the shockwaves travel through the ship and may cause damages inside, risking life and property of the collective. The work begins and the time is set at eight years. A hardened field of static energy, like a super solid “artificial” material to surround their ships and give an additional layer of protection. A genuine idea. The scientists estimate it to take ten years. The Republic of Galaron Whilst Uranium becomes as common as stars in a galaxy, a new crystal with insane levels of innate energy makes a big bleep on the simple sensors of the exploration vessel. The world seems seismically active, but hosts thousands of kilometers covered in them, deep cavern and caves holding more. These pink crystals might just be something that will push the Republic of Galaron into a new era! Instant communication between the colonies is of utmost importance. News, breakthroughs and society must be shared and interconnected. A new type of Quantum Communications is to serve this. Three years, the scientists proudly proclaim, and they can crack the code. Nothing to particular, but upgrading the armor on the ships. Give it seven years. Turning a deflector field into a focused and bundled hard surface, made entirely from “inert” energy is a tough task, but the scientists continue down this path. It will be a new technology as a whole for the Republic, but it may revolutionize ship protection immensely. Eleven years. The Unified Systems of the Da’nor Many worlds are scanned and almost devoured by the primitive sensors, and although they discover new lifeforms, new geological features and much more insightful evidence of the complexity of existence, nothing peaks the curiosity of the leadership as the one Da’nor who returned from a planetary survey and simply hospitalized three of his fellow crewmembers alone, before being apprehended. Fortunately nobody died, and the individual in question came to his senses soon after, muttering apology after apology. What is curious is that he has no idea what happened, only that he saw red. His colleagues all state that the Da’nor in rage, usually a composed and kind man, has shown strength that was beyond what they would have expected from his rather lean build. Curious. And the news networks are fascinated and supportive. In order to send their fake news even further beyond into the void, to the other worlds. The scientists are amused and give it four years. Downsizing was important. The old rifles and guns need to be replaced, and as Plasma weaponry has already taken its place on the spaceships, the soldiers down on the ground are to follow. The scientists expect it to take about six years, before the first rifles and pistols can be fabricated reliably. Fission is not quiet or sneaky, but it is fast. And why not make the current technology efficient and more reliable? Give it eight years, and the nuclear booms at the back of the ships gets even better.

If you do not know nation FRPs, it's about you basically guiding your nation's path through time. As opposed to the predecessor Onwards, like Beyond, a “New Era” takes place starting in the year 2200, after the first few decades of spaceflight for the races native to this galaxy. There has not been any first contact yet, as space is vast and distances are still traversed with low powered above light speed drives. The choice of planets you call home is yours. They can be lush continental worlds such as Earth, or a barren desert planets alike Mars. Maybe you even prefer hiding under thick atmospheres like Venus, or the blank coldness of a moon like Europa. Early this year, the Emperor becomes proud father of a roundfaced litte princess, whose cheerfulness brings joy to court and country! Guan-Yu Sule-Bahk is born, healthy and strong, blessed by the spirits. Whilst she has many years still to grow up and learn, already some murmur that she might bring great changes and new hope to Johwa in light of the circumstances of their tribal kin to the North-East. The Emperor does not idle however and continues to steer the nation through the tides of politics, trade, war and peace. Stoic in his intentions, nobody truly knows what his ultimate goal might be, but for now the councillors and dedicants seem content. One of the recent achievements are the new train engine running on Vitramite, which in combination with the ongoing infrastructure improvements should knit together the spacious country, as well as, making travelling on ground safer and easier. Not everyone can or wants to fly. The young Princess Elizabeth, barely a year in court, already convinced the more open-minded members of the family and country to support her notion of founding a research commission under her, to pursue projects that serve all of Syullin and in extent the citizens and people of Johwa! Actions: The new Emperor Jun-Seo continues his policy of industrial development, in order to increase the GNP, as well as the resources available to all areas of the nation. Still influenced strongly by the Dedicants, he also continues the military investments: The rail system needs to brought to full speed, in line with the newly started development of the new train models, he wants that all cities and towns have full access to the network. Furthermore, the roads need to improved and paved accordingly, to allow for easier traffic, motorized or not, and wide enough so they may avoid eachother and not clog up the roads. (Another -20,000 Syl into Infrastructure; Total: 1889: 4k, 1890: 20k, 1891: 20k, 1892: 20k 1893: 20k) Another two trade depots are opened due to the new influx of merchants from the Old World. (-20,000 Syl for 2 Trade Depot) Hand in hand with the Eastward Expansion over the mountains, the Emperor decrees that the newly staked lands shall be settled by the people of Syullin and in extent be open for the people of Johwa. Be it from the tribes or from the neighbouring nations, anyone is welcome to settle there, as long as they do not anger the spirits and maintain the balance of the land. The outpost is to be fortified and expanded upon to form a first proper township. The surrounding lands are claimed and parcelled for the volunteers and settlers that are coming from the homelands to the West. The previously sent Light Infantry Brigades are there to assist. (-5,500 Syl) Foreign loan requests are granted to the Kingdom of Bellica. (15 S, 7 VR) Research (Passive 3 slots + 10% bonus): The old Longhorn Rifles brought over (with schematics even, probably to be able to reproduce them as needed) from the Old World have proved outdated and very clunky. Whilst there was originally no need to improve upon the ol’ reliable, the Dedicants deem it suitable to upgrade the general equipment, introduce standardization and allow for easier construction of infantry rifles, as the Longhorns were mostly made by hand, with only a few steps automated. They wish to call it the Bohoja Rifle. (Started 1889, a new bolt-action rifle to replace the predecessor from the Old World, due in 1891; concluded) The improvement of agricultural methods has been a longstanding issue with the Empire. Whilst mostly forgotten due to other more important “concerns”, a new wind to push projects regarding optimal crop rotation and soil retention has come from nobody else than the Empress herself. Having a garden herself, where she grows vegetables for her family and most importantly for her dying husband, it is a very personal topic to her. By her claims, good soil gives good crops. Good crops are inhabitated by good spirits that give good life essence to the people, to prolong their lives and increase their fertility, making them strong and healthy as a whole. (Re-started 1889, after six years of “pause”, due in 1897; Investments 17,050 Syl (1892)) In order to not only increase the capacity, but also the speed of transportation for wares and people across the growing Empire of Syullin, a new train engine is to replace the old fashioned coal powered models. Vitramite comes in mind as a potential candidate. (Started 1889, due in 1894; concluded 1894) Communication over long distances proves to be still difficult. The wiring is often faulty and outdated, the cables not always capable of resisting the unregular electricity from the power grids of the nation. So, Project Bosang, is meant to streamline and optimize these grids of the nation. Starting with Voltage, Ampere, et cetera, they are to eliminate and unify the methods of generating power as well as bringing them up to par, so that the cables (and other devices of course) may not suffer the same issues they had in the past. (Started 1891, due 1898) Whilst herbal medicine has always been a strength of the inhabitants of the continent Johwa, these remedies are sometimes not readily available for the men on exploration or in war. Fresh ingredients of certain healing herbs do not grow everywhere, and as such, the newly found research commission under Princess Elizabeth of Brennan pursues to amend that through the invention of methods that allow to convert the well-practiced healing concoctions into lasting, modern pills and medicine. It’s a monstrous task for sure, as the Library of Healing in the capital houses thousands of century-old manuscripts, but nevertheless, the effort must be made for the good of all the people! The Dedicants are concerned with the current safety of the Empire, advising Emperor Jun-Seo to invest into the rapid armanent of the nation, to avoid falling behind. Given their concerns were not unfounded based on the rumors of aggression that has happened in the West, words of war trickling in from the new envoys received from the foreigners, the Emperor gives in and orders the allocation of funds for a proper self defense force for the Empire, which should also increase the power projection on their continent. On a lighter note, the double bond between Syullin and the neighbouring Brennan is announced, with a wedding and a bretrothal taking place! A pair of princes and princesses join in order to forge an alliance that will be unbreakable and strengthen both nations alike, for the good and safety of the whole continent! Actions: A marriage and a bethrothal is conducted between the Empire of Syullin and the Kingdom of Brennan, Prince James of Brennan marriesthe Emperor’s sister Min-Seo Sule-Bahk, whilst the Imperial Successor Jun-San Sule-Bahk is betrothed to Princess Elizabeth of Brennan. Great festivities are arranged throughout the Empire for the future alliance on the continent. Together they may lead the native people to greatness! (-5,000 Syl for festivities) The new Emperor Jun-Seo continues his policy of industrial development, in order to increase the GNP, as well as the resources available to all areas of the nation. Similar to last year the improvements are as follows: The rail system needs to brought to full speed, in line with the newly started development of the new train models, he wants that all cities and towns have full access to the network. Furthermore, the roads need to improved and paved accordingly, to allow for easier traffic, motorized or not, and wide enough so they may avoid eachother and not clog up the roads. (Another -20,000 Syl into Infrastructure; Total: 1890: 20k, 1891: 20k) Another trade depot is opened due to the new influx of merchants from the Venzeatic League. (-10,000 Syl for 1 Trade Depot) The Empire constructs the first Mogi-Type A series fighter craft to supplement the lighter Sae-Type A fighter craft built previous year. (-3 AP; -7,000 Syl for 20 fighters) In order to fulfill the fuel demands of the growing fleet and airforce, the Empire begins the exploitation of another Vitramium deposit. Furthermore in the closest city a refinery is built to acommodate the surplus of ore. (-10,000 Syl for a V-Mine and V-Refinery) The Airshipyards of the Empire begin the construction of two Dogsuli-Class destroyers. (-4 ASP; -6,000 Syl for 2 Destroyers) Another Airshipyard is constructed, as well as another Steelmill in order to increase the resource capacity of the nation for the future. (-12,500 Syl for said buildings) The remainder is invested into the Agricultural project by the Emperor’s Mother. (-15,500 Syl, valued at 17,050 Syl) Continued diplomatic outreach to the neighbours as well as the newly met foreigners from abroad. (MOD) Assessment of the current research projects. (MOD) The remaining resources are being stockpiled. (3 S, 4 VR) Research (Passive 3 slots + 10% bonus): The old Longhorn Rifles brought over (with schematics even, probably to be able to reproduce them as needed) from the Old World have proved outdated and very clunky. (Re-started 1889, after six years of “pause”, due in 1897) In order to not only increase the capacity, but also the speed of transportation for wares and people across the growing Empire of Syullin, a new train engine is to replace the old fashioned coal powered models. Vitramite comes in mind as a potential candidate. (Started 1889, due in 1894) Communication over long distances proves to be still difficult. 16. Kingdom of Danwent – 1529 News dire, and news great. At least for King Thoryus Armon. His friend Hasoran Alaari was wounded in battle against the throats in the East. For many years and with such loyalty, he felt helpless as he had to stay in the Capital to run affairs for the Realm and maneuver the seas of politics. Numeria and Symon were still embroiled at war, the former unrelenting, the latter in a state of growing unrest amongst its nobles, men with Republican ideals having grown stronger, something Thoryus did not reject quite as such, but a system he has decided to go against for its tendency to become bloated and corrupt, a curse that caused the Civil War in Danwent in the first place. And yet, for Symon it might just do that again, if there is much more momentum being gained. Naturally, there were still the old Republicans of Danwent that fled on the eve of their defeat those years ago. If they were to bring their knowledge to Symon, it could prove fatal for longer term relationships and would force Danwent to intervene. Intervention. A word Thoryus did not enjoy. He wished for nothing but peace and the establishment of a balance of power in the region. There was the danger of the Throats to the far East, where he has sent forces to fight them, for the safety of all of Naros, if not the world. Numeria and Symon at war, with one final winner might tip the balance. To the West, Bourdeleaux loomed, probably recovering from their bout with the Lithborn and even further West, beyond Galahar, powers were at war that he had only heard about in rumors and fragments of stories. Sometimes the King felt his gaze was cast too far, too wide, too deep into the future, what might be, what will be. On a lighter note, at least something that brought joy to court and country, was the birth of his first son. Caution is important when dealing with these foreigners, as they may easily prove to be capable foes, but resourceful friends too. Syullin itself was not prepared for a potential conflict, considering the ambition of the Emperor was to bring the realms of his home continent into his sphere. For such, diplomacy must be conducted and formal ties must be established. A step at a time, on many different paths. For over fifty years Gregor Oldbarrow, a man from an unknown land to our West has lived among us. He came a stranger, but proved to be the driving force that would unite our people. A foreigner he may be, but he inherited the very spirit of the land and the people that had lived on it for the infinite time past. And as he forged together what was meant to be together, he left none behind, but those who opposed the idea of unification and strength. Through these two elements of his rule, we came to peace and stability, prosperity and progress. And so, for the years to come, all was in balance. Was. The men at the top ranks of the governmental hierarchy are counting the days when their old monarch will at last leave for his last journey with the spirits of the world. Jun-Seo, the Imperial Successor has dreams and wishes he wants to pursue, directions where he wants to guide his country. As it stands, he does hold the support of the majority of the leaders and nobles, which has secured his position. But a younger brother lives in the shadows and then there is always the Lord Dedicant Thomas Valence, a lifelong companion of the Emperor, loyal advisor and aide. Nobody has the Emperor’s ear like him. These will be troublesome times coming up and the Empire of Syullin must prepare, or it may fall to foreign powers who prey upon their internal weakness that could manifest. Time will tell. Actions: Rapid industrial expansion is ordered by the Imperial Successor. Jun-Seo Sule-Bahk is unable to wait for his official succession and leverages his power as heir to the throne to push for investments in this regard. (1 Steel Mill, -2,500 Syl; 1 Civilian Industry complexes -5,000 Syl) Following the growing demands of the Dedicants to increase the industrial capacity for military production the Prince obliges. That was something his father has been opposed to for the majority of his reign, as he was a scientist, and not a soldier. (1 Airshipyard -10,000 Syl; 1 Heavy Industry -7,500 Syl) Another set of Mae-class corvettes leave the relatively new airshipyards. It has been only recently that the Empire of Syullin was able to establish functional engines for airship flight again. (-1 ASP, -2,000 Syl) Joining the armed forces are a new brigade of infantry and light infantry, volunteer-based they shall bolster the defensive capabilities on the ground. (-2 AP, -13,000 Syl, Regular T3) Long forgotten, the Houses of Harmony in the cities of the nation are refurbished and brought to pristine condition in order to fulfill their role in the society of the Empire of Syullin again. (6 Houses of Harmony, -15,000 Syl) The remaining funds for this year are focused on the bureaucracy to prepare it for the planned aggressive infrastructure expansion by the Imperial Successor. (-4,000 Syl) Diplomatic outreach is conducted to the neighbouring realms. (MOD) The Corvettes are sent on exploration through the skies, to cartograph the region, now proper, and see if there are other nations sharing this frontier as well. (MOD) As per directive of the Lord Dedicant, the Armed Forces start drilling and maneuvers in order to maintain and improve their expertise. (MOD) Research (Passive 3 slots + 10% bonus): The old Longhorn Rifles brought over (with schematics even, probably to be able to reproduce them as needed) from the Old World have proved outdated and very clunky. (Started 1889, a new bolt-action rifle to replace the predecessor from the Old World) The improvement of agricultural methods has been a longstanding issue with the Empire. (Re-started 1889, after six years of “pause”) In order to not only increase the capacity, but also the speed of transportation for wares and people across the growing Empire of Syullin, a new train engine is to replace the old fashioned coal powered models. Vitramite comes in mind as a potential candidate. (Started 1889) Communication over long distances proves to be still difficult. (On Hold)
  20. Discord: You have it. Name of Nation: Empire of Syullin Type of Government: Absolute Monarchy History/Culture: The Empire of Syullin was founded by the surviving expeditionary force that got stranded over fifty years ago, when their experimental prototype of airship suffered multiple engine failures. To this day, it is not known whether it was sabotage or the technology that has given in. Needless to say, the ship plummeted to the ground, crashing down in an early morning mist in lands unknown. Far from home with no way back, the survivors, scientists, soldiers and their families who originally anticipated a long-term research mission of potential new shores decided to settle down. But as it is with mankind, where you go, others come before you. They were not alone, and soon they established contact with the native populace, numerous, yet comparably underdeveloped and uneducated in terms of technology. It was a tenous peace as the old order was seen disturbed by the outsiders and the code of honor of the natives demanded balance. The first attacks came soon, but the outnumbered survivors had the best, the pre-Great-War-World had to offer. Aside from firepower, soon illnesses spread, as diseases unknown to the natives became rampant amongst their populace. In a stroke of genius, the leader, Marshal Gregor Oldbarrow offered the natives a trade. To all who would bow to them, moreso unite with them, they would provide medical care to the best of their abilities. Those who refused... were left to succumb to the unknown plagues from the Old World. And if any still survived, they were either conquered and assimilated into their more willing brethren or they already joined willingly themselves. And so, using nothing but the course of nature and modern science, the expedition survivors began forging together the vast tribes and clans in the region, small “feudal” holdings. In the coming years, they accepted and integrated the very nature and culture of the natives into their daily lives as leaders, in turn modernizing and educating the masses of eager citizens they had gained, some by sheer impression of godhood, which would continue to establish itself in a certain sense of fanaticism, others by simple curiosity. Fifty years later, the Empire of Syullin had reached a good degree of stability and size. Inhabitated by millions now, the rapid expansion slowed down, infrastructure has been erected by sheer force of will (and manpower aplenty), and the former “servants” have now become integral part of the government, even moreso leaders of this Empire. Forged by foreign forces, it had yet to be tempered by the very same, because at the very heart the 89 year old Emperor Oldbarrow knew, that the Old World hadn’t forgotten about them. 23. Can I keep my warning points from Irish from 2014 when I posted in Boiendl’s ban appeal? In all seriousness, a different approach might be worth it, given how volatile some situations can be (OOC banter and the usual salt, that quickly earned these ominous warning points).
  24. Year 983 passes. The Scarlet Order The Scarlet Order’s diplomatic missions bring back following reports: - Nao Phyn is willing to trade lumber for weaponry, their own forges being insufficient to supply their need for arrows, arms and armor. - Nao Zhu offers coal shipments in exchange for the same. - Baderberg offers coal and iron ore shipments in exchange for naval support. And so he arrives together with his band of brothers, as already a “small” host of Brutes has been reported assembling near the border of Lyonesse. (Encounter) The land is acquired accordingly once everything is signed by both parties. (Need clarification from Lyonesse) The work on the carrack continues as intended, with the new lumber from Nao Phyn being shipped in, constructing ship catapults is little of an issue and soon the ship is combat ready. The Rulership of Nùr The Illhar is a massive vessel and will need at least another year to finish construction. With the mindless slaving away, it goes quite quickly still. Exhausting almost all lumber stores and the entire production of lumber of this very year, they construct twenty (!) raiding ships. This should bolster the naval presence of the Rulership of Nùr. Layer by layer they add bricks and stone to growing walls, towers and dig more moats. To reach a proper state of fortification, it will take more time. The shipwrights and wise men begin experimenting on reshaping the structure of the ship, to allow it to be lighter, having less structural beams, with the same amount of stability and resistance. It’s a difficult task to find the right arrangement, but they are onto something. The Kingdom of Kronk appears to be surprisingly mighty. The Ogres had lived there for centuries, with no foes and grew numerous, rich and powerful. But they are, as ogres are by times, still full of wanderlust and ambition. The current King Kronk is no exception. He inquires what the Rulership’s plans are, his targets, asking for maps of the world. The ice wolves are proud and intelligent. They have a willpower that continues to defy the Mori and Kal. Whilst they captured a few of the beasts under the loss of several dozen of mindless slaves, it will take more cruelty to break such a being. Quietly and unseen. In the first half of the year everything seems to be going fine, until soon ships that sail out to raid and plunder appear to not return. The reason becomes obvious soon as one foggy morning, the mothership finds itself in sight of a warfleet of unknown sails. And they are moving fast, with the wind at their backs. BUNDESREICH ABENDLAND The smart masters of the Blacksmith Guilds soon call in a meeting with all the greater guildmasters in all major towns and cities. Their meeting lasts two whole months, where they then travel to the provinces to give out the details of what they have come up with. They assess the storages of all arms and armor they have, as well as making precise drawings and measurements to them, to bring them all together again to the next meeting. That took place towards the end of the year 983. At last, after another three months, they present the Standardization Plan of the Bundesreich for the most commonly used pieces of equipment, with sizes and measurements to be matched between all partaking smithies. They state that they will need five years to conclude this standardization process, after which, everything will fit everything else. The hilly and more mountaineous reaches of the Eastern Bundesreich do yield a few new veins of iron and coal, along with other minor metals. Thanks to the active participation of the local dwarven mining guilds, this goes surprisingly well. The Greatship is finished as planned, given the vast manpower and resources available. Whilst it costs more than originally expected (due to the known issue of administration), it still is on time. Thus far the latter three realms have kept a neutral stance, despite both Shatterlands and Roymar bearing down on them to coerce them into taking sides. They appreciate the offer of formal relations. The Stoneborn The Broggr tribes are being observed, quietly from a safe distance, and that appears to be good. There has been some local warfare between some of them, but they are clearly oblivious to the existence of the Stoneborn. It is quite different for the dwarves, simultaneously as the Stoneborn reach the Eastern caves and settlements of the Dwarves of Rut’Furum, patrols from their side are spotted near the mountain passes and access roads, maintaining a respectful distance though. The Stoneborn envoys are greeted with mild suspicion going by their expressions and some hushed words, though Elder Dwarves, distinct by the many wrinkles of time on their faces, withered skin and bleached hair sit down with the visitors, gesturing as good as they can. (Encounter) The rocks are silent and the mountains are empty, but they freely give way as they are formed by the Stoneborn, as new ones spring forth from their parent crystal, enriching the lifeless with life alternate. The Orani Khanate Strengthening the wood, increasing the elasticity of the bow, allowing to draw easier and further, whilst retaining the same level of strength. That is a coal they set their minds on, and the wisemen continue to carve rune after rune, many burning out, many bows breaking, but bit by bit, as they paint it on paper from the Western reaches of the Khanate, they seem to make it better. THE HIROMI Given the little agriculturally viable area in the valleys themselves, due to surprisingly cold winters, the other resources become more visible. Fish, stone, lumber and the lucky vein of earthen coal in the Eastern settlement could bring new prosperity to this province-to-be. Household work aplenty and in order to please man and country, the women are at it. (Sounds a bit objectivying, but I will grant it.) The composting methods still elude and the researches are growing restless at their lack of progress. Something seems to be amiss. Whilst they nurture the trees, they seem to have... little will. At the moment, the crankbow was bulky and heavy, powerful, albeit slow to reload. The craftsmen and master archers continue their studies, to make the whole apparatus smaller and more convenient. The local fishermen have been aware of this cycle for the past decades already, it was a knowledge passed down from generation to generation. Making it more known for the general populace certainly helps if there is to be law and order regarding this. However, during this offtime, the fishermen require another way to earn their coin, if they are not to fish at all (they fished during egg season, but just little to sustain their own families). It is just too lucky that the Golden Kingdom still had two princesses of their Royal Dynasty left over. The older one certainly makes a good match to the candidate of the Hiromi, and as such the council agrees to name the older Princess the new ruler of the Golden Kingdom. Many nobles are distraught by the decision, but the majority is supporting it. The unrest however, still remains, and all parties involved are trying to solve the population’s fears and distrust in the Royal palace. Roymar and Shatterlands have a heavy naval battle, where the Shatterlands lose, although it was a Phyrric victory for Roymar. Small brute warbands are seen near the border of Lyonesse. The five coastal realms of Illuwe, Yano’sa, Neunburg, Roistal and Baderberg call for a meeting at Illuwe’s capital. The details are unknown. Yano’fin and Hellerland are at odds. Yano’qi and the Kingdom of Halrin are now at war. Nyx and Xan announce an alliance. It is the Year 984.
