  1. A friend of mine and I made a cleaver for an orc cosplay. My friend did most of it. It was more of a learning experience for me, but I helped a bit. https://gyazo.com/b7922916311c933d2fb5088e0f293471

Wasn't the creature index created to make it easier for ET to do creature related events, thus expanding the frequency of events? Not keeping up with that forum is a failing on the LMs part on multiple different levels. Yet somehow they manage to keep up with all the completely illegitimate and lore-breaking changes to fi magic that happen. :')

  3. Ognir’Shapend ((This was originally posted as a submission to the Creature Index; however, I've decided to move this to Lore Submissions, because the Lore Team clearly has no intention of ever looking at the Creature Index again. I've contacted people about the fact that there have been nine players waiting to have their submissions looked at since September, and have just been completely ignored on the subject. Those nine submissions have neither been accepted nor denied, but simply neglected. So, I'm just putting it here instead. If an FM wants to remove my reply on the Creature Index, go ahead.)) Habitat: Savannas, some jungles, deserts Description: The Ognir’Shapend, or Terror Bird in Common, was recently discovered by the Yar Clan in Vailor. For the time being, they’re a rare sight, but with proper breeding they could become a populous species. On average, they tend to stand roughly 7.5-9.8 ft (2.3-3 meters) tall, depending on environment, and are invariably hideous and featherless. In the upper regions of the neck, the Ognir’Shapend has bifurcate neural spines, and high neural spines in its lower regions. This allows for a highly flexible and developed neck, enabling it to carry its heavy head and strike with terrifying speed and power. Although the Ognir’Shapend externally looks like it has a short neck, its flexible skeletal neck structure proves that it can expand farther beyond the expected reach and intimidate its prey using its height, allowing it to strike more easily. The terror bird strikes directly downward with enough momentum and power produced by its powerful neck and heavy head to cave in a man’s (or uruk’s) skull with brutal efficiency. Their powerful legs are also capable of devastating strength, allowing for a breath-taking kick. They are generally pack hunters, and hunt in small groups of three to four, though one can occasionally be found alone, given the sparsity of their current population. There are three varieties of these great, flightless beasts, each with their own distinguishing strengths, weaknesses, and appearances based upon habitat. The three types of Ognir’Shapend are the Shurr’Shapend, the Rafshat’Shapend, and the Pulgoruz’Shapend: Shurr’Shapend: The Shurr’Shapend inhabit the deserts. Their skin is a light sandy-brown, and tends not to be quite as tough as that of the other two breeds. They have lighter frames and longer legs, ideal for sprinting across the sands of their harsh, expansive habitat. Due to their somewhat flimsier frames, they do tend to be less sturdy than their savanna and jungle-dwelling counterparts. This, however, is not to say that they are too much less of a threat, as they still possess enough strength to kill a man with relative ease; but a well-timed strike at their narrow legs or a clever trap can potentially render their speed null and void, leaving them as easy prey to a group of skilled hunters. Their bones, when compared to the other two Shapend sub-types, are lighter and more fragile. Blunt weapons and sharp wit are ideal. Rafshat’Shapend: This breed of terror bird inhabits the savannas and rolling plains of the world. Their hides vary from light gray to a sort of cedar brown in color, being somewhat thicker than that of the Shurr’Shapend. Their speed rivals that of the average horse, though they aren’t capable of sprinting quite so fast as their desert cousins, due to their heavier bone structure. What they lack in sprint, however, they make up for in endurance. Somewhat hardier than the Shurr’Shapend, the Rafshat’Shapend can handle respectably greater distances, and take a fair deal more punishment. They also tend to be the most direct of the three, preferring a forward charge as opposed to the passing blows and swipes of the Shurr’Shapend. Pulgoruz’Shapend: These frightful beasts stalk the shadows and underbrush of the world’s jungles. They can perhaps be called the most terrifying of the terror birds. Their tough, leathery skin is thick and dark, sometimes black, to help camouflage them as they lurk through their canopied forest homes. These vicious predators tend to have shorter legs, allowing them to crouch more easily through bushes and tall grass, but this also slows them considerably, especially in combination with their stronger yet heavier skeletal structure. Mind you, they can still outrun any man, dwarf, orc, or elf with ease, and maneuver through the dense foliage of their habitat effortlessly. While other Ognir’Shapend hunt in packs of three or four, the Pulgoruz’Shapend have been known to stalk their prey in a group of as many as six. Also, unlike the others, their hunting parties don’t travel as tightly together. Rather, each prefers to keep some distance from each other, covering larger areas, and communicating with low resonating grunts from their throats and quick whistles. This allows them to more easily find and surround their prey as well as make the pack harder to detect. Defensive tactics, and avoidance of dense areas are strongly advised. Author: Catarrh Red Lines -Cannot Fly. They do not have wings in any substantial sense of the word. Their frontal appendages are small and weak. -Cannot use magic of any type, obviously. There is nothing inherently magical about them. -Only lives in deserts, savannas, and jungles. Cannot be found in snowy regions, swamps, or anything other than those three biomes listed. -Cannot swim. -Requires large amounts of sustenance to live.
  4. Lore Team, your creature index goes neglected. I'm sure keeping it updated is a pain, and probably lots of people wanna cry and complain to you when you deny their lore submissions; however there are eight people with submissions on there (admittedly, myself included), some of whom have been waiting since September. Someone should probably take a look. Even a denial is more courteous than just ignoring them.

  5. It's in here http://lotc-wiki.wikidot.com/wiki:the-ancient-history It's the server's ancient history lore about where the four main races came from. To be honest, I'm very surprised to see an orc player who didn't know that orcs are supposed to be blessed with a sense of honor. Each of the four main races has a blessing and a curse. You'll find them listed near the end of this story, which every orc used to know IC'ly. This is the story orcs teach their children, and it's the story that fuels the Orcish sense of racial superiority.
  6. So, I've been wondering. Is Fi'Ceru pronounced Fi'Keru or Fi'Seru?
