  1. Sir Ruben,

Your letter has found its way to me, and I must admit, it reeks of desperation rather than valor. To dredge up the ancient history of our forefathers and clothe it in the garb of "honor" does little to impress or intimidate. You accuse me of abandonment, yet it is you who seems eager to forgo reason and ration for the reckless pursuit of conflict. Although, if it is satisfaction through bloodshed you seek, I shall not deny you the opportunity to attempt, albeit vainly, to reclaim the vestige of honor your family has miserably lost. Let us meet in Portoregne.

I am unsure how to word this, and I decided not to be vulgar despite my well-known alcoholism so I chose this question.

What is your view on unbanning people? Unbans etc have been a controversial aspect of your administration, how did you decide whether to unban people or not? Would you have liked to unban certain individuals (Trol, other controversial folk), why, why not? What is your opinion on the 'cancel culture' of lotc that responded to the possible unbanning of certain individuals (Trol, other controversial folk)?

I for one wasn't a fan of your administration, as you probably know... though I couldn't and still can't think of any alternative admins beyond 60th. Have a nice time though! :)

My decision usually boiled down to the severity of the action of the player, and how much time has passed. There are some bans I turned away because I didn't think that they should've been unbanned due to their heinous actions. The trol ban was the toughest ban we've ever handled. This was because of the culture shift in the server, which we never really acknowledged. Something that was said in the admin meeting was: "well, this was the culture of the server 6 years ago. would we permaban him for what he said today? probably. but would we have permabanned him 6 years ago? probably not."

Cancel culture is insane on LotC, especially when you see these players who have said similar things themselves. Most everyone on LotC has done regrettable shit. Self-reflect before you start pitch-forking on the forums. Though, if the person is continuing their behavior - it's free game.

How many safety bans did you undo though?

We voted to undo one because it was a self-report that upon review, wasn't anywhere close to violating the safety policy. I believe it was a ban that was done in haste and without review because of a 13th forum uprising

One of our best policies was ensuring that Tythus had to sign off on unbanning permanently banned players (PCV and TOS). All Tythus cares about is keeping shitty people off the server. So I trust his judgement in the case that we've got a bad one.

How many proposed admin bans have not gone through because you contributed to the No vote in a system that requires a unanimous decision? Is there an admin that you felt obstructed you being able to fulfil your vision the most? If you are privy to the information, how much money does the server generate through donations per month or year and does this result in a net loss, profit, or break-even?

I've never voted no on a TOS ban. I voted no on a PCV ban once (along with fellow administrators) because of lack of evidence. I have voted no on CGV bans more than once, albeit rarely.

It's difficult to get all admins on board with my agenda, but that's not a bad thing.

I do not see donation money, although I know we're in a good position. I believe the server turns a profit, but we just use those funds to upgrade our hardware.

Actual legitimate question, how has your feelings on the color red changed from before being an admin to now?

It's a stupid color and asserts authority that it doesn't have on a minecraft server. I like red on cars tho

poll: @Admin Rule amendment to External Wartime Raids Rule #2 on Road Banditry. Current: During wartime, raid sizes are increased to the following criteria and raid protections are applied to city/settlement/lair regions instead of the tile, meaning banditry on roads in a nation tile or the area outside of a city/settlement/lair will not trigger a raid cooldown as they do in peacetime. Adjustment: During wartime, raid sizes are increased with the following criteria, and raid protections are applied to the entire tile. However, banditry on roads will have a base cooldown of 0 days, with each additional person brought over the soft cap adding a 12 hours to the cooldown. Rationale: Road banditry is too much rn. We had an uncapped raid of 150 people today, and I need a rule to justify giving people cooldowns for road banditry.

Nations may choose their own route to get to the battle without moving through the enemy's territory."

Mercenaries can be granted a lair in which they can perform their services out of. Mercenaries that have a lair will be granted a treasury that they can store their funds in. This will act as their permanent place of residency.

Subjugation War Goal (7500 x tiles)

The ultimate demand. Annex a bordering nation or non-nation settlement.

poll: @Admin Change the War Rules Allied Movement Rules to the Following: Alliances Nations may declare their allied status in roleplay. Allies may assist Nations in Warclaims, however, they must have declared their alliance forty-eight (48) hours prior to the start of the Warclaim. Half of attacking allied tiles are added to the aggressor’s warcost. Allies must consider troop movement. Your army starts in any tile in your territory and, as the army moves, troops are subject to travel costs: • 750 minas per water, ocean, and land tile. Armies passing through owned tiles must seek permission from their nation. Armies may not move through the Cloud Temple. Furthermore, the main Attacker Nation may launch a war from an allies’ tile if the ally gives consent for it, except when conquest is involved. Rationale: Keeping the spirit of the rules in charging people for movement. I don't like the way we currently have troop movement set up. This will change our current troop movement rules (1 tile land, 2 tile water/ocean) to a cost-based movement

@Admin Alexperiment: Remove base war cost of 25 minas
Attacking army must start from a core tile.
    Defender can start from anywhere.
Allies of either attacker or defender must travel from a core tile
Period: 2 months extending for any wars that might have a duration that goes past that date. Expiry date: 2 months from the date of approval Rationale: Wars will still be regional, but more affordable. I polled the player base on the forums and a majority (56% in poll 1, 72% in poll 2) believe war costs to be too high. The average nation has 6.6k Mina, but the median nation has 2.7k (give or take)

    FAQ:

    Where are you going now?

    • I'll be a mod for at least a month before dipping out, pending the conversation I have with 60th on when he wants me to go. After that, I'll be focusing on IRL!

Are you going to miss the moderation team?

    • Yes.. it is my baby.. I will miss all of you. Good luck. You guys are doing great and 60th is a fantastic successor :)

Are you going to miss the administration team?

    • Absolutely. I don't think I could've asked for a better team to work with. There were many times where meetings turned into a heated mess, but as soon as the meeting ended we left our disagreements there. I wish them nothing but the best.

If you have any questions about specific approvals or even regrets I had as admin, feel free to ask. No secrets!!

  6. Hi,

I’m sorry but we haven’t had ample time to prepare. We’ll need to delay it until next week. I really apologize but hopefully this will give you guys some more time to build and prepare.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We should be ready for next weekend.

  7. Hi guys.

We'll need to change the warclaim to Sunday, 10/8 @ 3 PM EST.

I apologize for this inconvenience, but it is imperative that we make sure the siege plugin is ready for usage. I will share some rough stats regarding the siege weaponry:

    TREBS:

    • Arc-type shot
    • 25 blocks to break (you use an axe to break a block, you must break 25 blocks. as you break the block, it'll be instantly replaced but it will damage the siege weapon's healthbar)
    • Longest reload time
    • 2 hits by siege equipment
    • 4-5 blocks damage in a 2-3 block radius
    • Low player damage
    • High bloom / spread

    CANNONS:

    • Straight shot
    • 10 blocks to break
    • Medium reload time
    • 2 hits by siege equipment
    • 4-5 blocks damage in a 2-3 block radius
    • High player damage
    • High bloom / spread

    BALLISTAS:

    • Straight shot
    • 5 blocks to break
    • Quick reload time
    • 1 hit by siege equipment
    • No block damage
    • Medium player damage
    • Low bloom / spread

The SIEGE WEAPON AMMO will be added in game tomorrow. The crafting recipe will be 8 netherite per ammo, applicable to any type of equipment. You may bring ladders to the war server. Please have your war camps ready on Saturday. Send them to me and the60th. If you choose not to make a war camp, we will not place siege equipment for you.

Haelunor may build their siege camp within the blue square, as we're going with the premise that Nevaehlen has fallen back to their city to defend it.

Nevaehlen may make the following modifications to their build:

    - Tear down houses

    - Make platforms for siege equipment

    - Moderately improve their walls (no button spam, no monumental walls)

Please do not do this on main, just do it on a build server and send us a schematic.

    53be2149892116f8259effed6a2b60df.jpg

Please let me know if you have any questions.

  8. Just a quick clarification to Spoopy's post -

Iron Horde & Norland are already at the location of interest in RP. For the sake of tile movement, the Iron Horde & Norland only need to pay 5 minas per person. (5 minas * 1 tile traveled to get to the new battlefield * X amount of players brought)

Of course. It's quite difficult given that a couple of us have been unavailable on the weekends. Wish I could give a more universal time, but Tuesday @ 7:30 PM EST was really the only time that matched all of our schedules.

I hope to make this recurring, so hopefully in the near future we can have another meeting at a more reasonable hour for everyone.

    Hi all,

This Tuesday, October 3, at 7:30 PM EST, we're hosting a community meeting/Q&A session in the LotC public discord. Feel free to ask any questions here, and we'll do our best to address them. Additionally, we invite individuals or groups to engage in discussions on how we can make the server a more enjoyable experience for everyone. All members of the administration team plan on attending the meeting, as its crucial that we hear your feedback firsthand.

I'm eager to delve into several important topics, including activity, the role of war and its place in our community, CRP rules, lore, insights on realms in general, and strategies to foster a healthy server story.

I hope that upon the conclusion of the meeting, the administration & staff team will have a clear direction that we can communicate and measure.

Hope to see you all there!
