  1. As the world begins to fade, when sight begins to fail and the light grows dark, where does one find themselves? With nothing but memories of the past to fill the void left by loss of vision– memories that offer no more than a fleeting respite, for as soon as her eyes open once more, she is reminded of what was lost. Reminded of the faces she will never see again, the green leaves blowing in the wind, the inky-black sky full of stars with the moon shining so brightly over fields, or the rising of the sun in the east. It is these reminders that have whittled away resolve, composure, sanity. Maeve has sat alone in the dark long enough to be driven mad by her loss, a hereditary disease having stolen her sight from her completely. There are those who have offered and attempted to aid her, to restore her eyes, but with progress as slow as this it was only a matter of time before she lost herself. A nightmare overtook her mind, a paranoia grew, perhaps she would never restore her sight even if she entirely replaced her eyes. Would the disease remain? Would it take those eyes from her as well? Was this to be her life, bereft of one of her most crucial senses? Despite a strong facade placed over her anxieties, she had fallen to despair, nights full of tears and withheld sorrow boiling over. “I just want to see…” She lamented, fingers curling deep into her hair as her hands clutched at her head. Panic welled within her, breath became sparse, and tears stained her cheeks. “Please… please, I just want to see, I just want to see… I just want to see… please let me see…” She repeated the phrase as if it were a mantra, each utterance bringing her lower and lower as the prospect of sight grew ever farther from her mind, ever farther from reality. This was to be her fate. Everything had been taken from her- her family, her childhood, her life, and now the faces of the people she loved most. It was on this night she had opened herself to the unknown, to the vast nothingness that lay beyond the mortal plane of existence full of unknowable mysteries and horrors. A plea that may forever go unheard. ((If the FA is accepted, they would have the following vision.)) Her dreams were quiet once again, becoming the only respite from the sorrow of the waking world. She found herself within a cabin, the one she and her parents once lived in so long ago, sitting at the table while the dawn shone through the windows to illuminate the kitchen space. Breakfast was placed before her, a simple cut of sausage with a side of eggs and a cup of milk, her parents conversing with each other across the table…only this time, they sounded muffled, almost distant. There was a ringing in her ears, subtle but nonetheless present. The dream was disturbed, twisted, by something that had infiltrated it without Maeve noticing, the world began to fade from sight, like a reflection rippling in the water as her vision was taken for what felt like an eternity. Hands were placed over her eyes by an unseen force, and sight was restored. Once more she sat within her childhood home, only there was no sign of her parents. Her hands were gripping something, and a glance down revealed it to be a single strip of gray cloth as an idea imprinted itself on her mind; ‘don the veil’. The unseen hands moved from her eyes, her hands bringing the cloth to her eyes and wrapping it around her head. The world did not fade this time, instead it remained…and then she woke, the ringing fading from her ears, the idea of veiling her eyes and hiding the truth now weighing on her mind. Was this a solution? Would it be her secret to keep? A promise of sight in exchange for silence?

  7. Leyunia sighs with the missive of yet more threats against a settlement, giving a simple shrug. "Threatening an empty, abandoned settlement isn't the best use of one's time." She said, tearing the missive up and discarding it. "Can't say they don't deserve to be threatened, but really, let them die and stay dead like their leader."
  8. Homie you're on a roll, keep up the good work. +1
  9. "A man cannot hope to hide behind brick walls and be safe from the consequences of his actions, only cowards believe such fantasies." The Bibliothecar of the Crimson Edict let out a long and tired sigh, sipping from her glass of tea as the news of Sir Vulpe the Coward was spread throughout the land. "This could have been solved more...amicably, but the arrogance of Man proved stronger, you truly were a pathetic opponent in the end. May your end be slow and painful, and may it be our hands that deliver it."
