  1. Baldwin of Brasca smiles the Sun's Smile, having done his part in crafting this reformed system of governance. He looks to his siblings and raises his glass in celebration. "Viva la Commonwealth!" The young Brascanite promptly drowns his glass of wine, then the whole bottle. @Afrodescendiente @Orlesian @Tigergiri @SirB0ng0 @Pork
  2. The now very aged Knight of the Commonwealth, Sir Bernard Luc Halcourt of Brasca, sits down to read the memoir, musing on the bygone era of the great Novellen emperors. He turns the page, sipping a glass of wine and nodding subtly. "May we humble inheritors of our noble house justly honor our great forefathers, " he remarks out loud.

  4. On the 12th of Godfrey’s Triumph, 1892. . . By the UNITY OF MIND of the GOVERNMENT in PETRA, serving always CHIVALRY, LIBERTY and JUSTICE, we the PEOPLE do present these updated ROUND TABLE ARTICLES, delivered at MOUNT GARMONT CONCERNING VARIOUS AMENDMENTS to the laws of the COMMONWEALTH, those laws now being known as the ROUND TABLE ARTICLES TABLE OF CONTENTS; I. THE PREAMBLE II. THE ROUND TABLE III. THE REGENT I. THE PREAMBLE We have made our home in the Petra river valley. Down the river flows the lifeblood of the Commonwealth. Yet the river, like us, is not immutable: the tide ebbs and flows; the salmon spawn and are harvested; the flotsam, the flora, the fauna, all change with time. So too must our Commonwealth progress. We hitherto abolish the Senate and the Chancellery. Thus, in their place, we do announce these changes to the laws of the Commonwealth, which shall be known as the ROUND TABLE ARTICLES. The Articles enshrine in law a number of our values: anti-Whig sentiment, ensuring sleepy manor lords never lord over our lands; the centrality of chivalry, creating the KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE as our central governing institution; and most critically, it brings us closer in praxis to our brethren across the Harvest Confederation. They shall deliberate on matters of state to ensure good governance in our lands. Keeping to our values, much of the government will be elected. Once elected, from among them they shall choose the sitting GRANDMASTER of our Order, who shall be our representative here and abroad. II. THE ROUND TABLE THE ROUND TABLE COMMAND THE GRANDMASTER Leader of the Commonwealth government Ser Bernard of Brasca THE VICE MASTER Second in command of the Commonwealth Dame Irene of Mardon THE ROUND TABLE OFFICERS THE COMMANDER Military, special operations, law enforcement Ser Pavel of Ivanovich THE PROXY Foreign relations, squiring, scribework Vacant THE QUEST GIVER Knightly quests, squiring, order business Dame Catherine of Furnestock THE TREASURER Taxes, stewards, properties Ser Cliement of Brasca THE PROCURATOR Law, justice, constitution Ser Charles of Temesch III. THE REGENT Section I - The Regent The Regent of the Commonwealth is the impartial protector of liberty who keeps our lands in order. The Regent, per the Constitution, is elected by the Old Regime. The Regent is tasked with handling elections and lawful conduct under this new system. Section II - The Elected Officers Any KNIGHT OF THE SOVEREIGN ORDER OF THE PETRINE LAUREL can run for a position upon the ROUND TABLE. The Regent of the Commonwealth shall post candidacies, allowing knights to register to run. Then, all citizens may vote to determine who wins a seat upon the Round. From among the KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE, the Elected Offices of the Round shall be filled. The elected offices are the Proxy, the Treasurer, the Scrivener, and the Procurator. Section III - The Appointed Officers The Grandmaster may appoint the Vicemaster and the Commander. Due to the sensitive nature of these roles, they must be able to work in concert directly with the Grandmaster. As with the roles hitherto mentioned, these too must consist of KNIGHTS OF THE SOVEREIGN ORDER OF THE PETRINE LAUREL. Section IV -- The Grandmaster The Round Table Officers choose a knight of the realm to serve as Grandmaster. The Grandmaster serves as head of government. THE KNIGHTS OF PETRA WILL THRIVE EVERMORE HIS EXCELLENCY, Sir Bernard of Brasca Grandmaster of the Sovereign Order of the Petrine Laurel; Overseer of the Knightly Circles of Saint Emma, the Star, and the Eagle; Commander in Chief of the Republic; and Protector of Liberty, Justice and Chivalry HIS EXCELLENCY, Paul Temesch et Moere Regent of the Commonwealth & Count of Temesch et Moere
  5. Bernard nods subtly. "This is just the beginning, dear friend." He reaches into his satchel, taking out a notebook and looking to those gathered. "What should our next legislation focus on?" @MCVDK @bickando@tilly

  10. B. L. Halcourt happily sips a bottle of finely-aged wine at the holdfast of the House of Halcourt d'Artois, relaxing with his comrades after a day of hearty debate and the completion of his homeland's Constitution. He is particularly happy that his design proposal for the flag of the Petra was accepted, and has now become the official standard of the Republic. He looks to his cousin, the Baron Arnaud Godwin Halcourt d'Artois. Wistfully, he murmurs, "We did good. So many brilliant minds, a trillion different paths, and we managed to chart a course for the people of the Petra -- a course toward unity." @KaiserJacobII

Temporary workaround for linking another category’s article by name is below. Use this to link to a sub-section of an article Headers H3 must have an H2 above that. You cannot use H3 without H2. It is important that you use these headers. They generate the table of contents. Templates Generate a template article within another article using this. Making a template? You must name it using this syntax.

    Guidelines

Server Guidelines #scope ul li { margin-bottom: 1em; } #scope p { line-height:2; } Become one of us! Learn our community culture with our Community Guidelines. Respect your fellow players. Write constructively, and in good-spirit of our community, & behave civilly. Upgrade your knowledge of fair and fun roleplay with the Roleplay Quality Standards. Roleplay is a double-edged sword: you are expected to provide interactive roleplay in both situations that are unfavorable to others as well as in situations that are unfavorable for you or your character for the good of the game. Push your limits; know what you can do! Familiarize yourself with our Gameplay Systems. Use common sense. You are responsible for helping build a serious roleplay environment. If you doubt you are doing the right thing, ask a moderator. Exploiting, manipulating, or ‘loopholing’ the rules is strictly punishable. The staff is here to help. We volunteer ourselves to this community out of love and a desire to see it succeed. If you have issues with any of us please contact that member’s respective Management or Administrator. Mod Shopping Do not modshop. A staff member’s verdict is final and must be followed. If you wish to contest it, contact the corresponding team management or admin. Moderation Discretion Clause All the rules listed for the server are there to facilitate a fun, fair, and conducive role-player environment as well foster a community of respect and cooperation. Players who attempt to get off on technicalities/loopholes or skirt the line between breaking the rules can still incur an infraction should either of the aforementioned goals be threatened. This right can be exercised at the discretion of Moderation should it be deemed necessary. Infraction System The image below demonstrates how the Moderation Team enforces the rules. At any time, you may request that a Moderator provide you with your infraction history. Minor and Moderate infractions in each category will expire after a year, and will be automatically removed from your history. Colors: green = days, orange = weeks, red = months.
  19. The nature of roleplay is that it requires people. This requirement creates a need for some sort of centralization. Because of this, nations with access to a steady playerbase tend to significantly centralize their roleplay. That ensures that regardless of when you log on, you can probably find someone at the tavern or church or town hall to roleplay with. Small towns are antithetical to this level of activity and in fact do the opposite. When populations are further distributed in small or rural settlements, ultimately players log on and do not find people around. When they do this, they become disengaged and inactive. This contributes to a great deal of total current players, but a small amount of activity generated from those players. We saw this in many previous maps. Modern staff policies and even decisions made by nation leaders reinforce the efficacy of centralization. Decentralization is a cancer on the back of an active roleplaying experience and it is important we stop using this rhetoric.

Na I got previous experience with AdminCP during my managment tenure. Its not really a matter of being inexperienced due to me having it for 4-5 months of active use but rather due to me just wanting to moderate the forums better and be the go to for the forums. They’re underloved, undercared for, and no one pays enough attention to them after the merge happened. Reports sit for days sometimes months, content goes unmoderated, the forum rules are so skewedly enforced that more than should pass does, and the subforums are a mess.

    3. forwhatpvrpose

      forwhatpvrpose

But the issue isn’t aimed at you in particular. The issue is there are dozens of moderators and very few have the skillset. This has resulted in serious issues in the past; hence the limitation. As for content moderation on the forums, that is solely a GM thing. I suggest you speak to your manager about that and find some solutions. With regards to subforums being a mess, please let me know any specific ones that are and I would be happy to fix them.

    4. forwhatpvrpose

      forwhatpvrpose

We could look at allowing some non-manager GMs handle forum back-end. It would potentially be on a case-by-case basis and the relevant admins (Llir and Braxis) would have to be okay with it. Drop a suggestions thread in this forum for me.
