Actually completely unironically agree that new personas should require CAs. I'm not even joking this time.

Its bloody fantasy
It's fantasy but it's not your fantasy. Being a good role-player means giving up on being in control of everything.

This is actually kinda cool.

The same thing can be said about dwarves and orcs who have lifespans of around 800 and 400 years respectively. "Immortality" doesn't really mean much when you would have to play your dwarven character for 15 IRL years to see him grow from infancy to his death, if he were to die of old age.
No, but the point of my post is that the other races usually role-play their curse pretty well and have interesting lore / cultures based off of it. Elves are boring exactly because elves should be rare. That is what makes elves interesting in fantasy.

But this is such a huge non-issue
Yeah it's not a huge deal but it's interesting how little effort needs to be put into playing an elf. You can simply never change your skin, never change anything about your character, and never develop very easily because of immortality. It's the most casual of the races.

You got that part, but forgot about the part where they have gotten a super long life to compesate for it.
I was talking about the curses, not the blessings, I know the lore just fine

Make Elves Require a Creature Application
When the four brothers beat Iblees and were in the midst of banishing him to the void, he laid four curses on them:
The dwarves were corrupted with greed, short stature, and ugliness,
the orcs minds were clouded with blood lust,
the humans were doomed to short life,
and the elves were cursed with sterility.
Most every race practices their curse on the server and makes it a core aspect of their character. Humans live for a short time and this is enforced. The orcs are fiercely noble, but with a towering rage. The Dwarves play little, ugly men who dig in the mountains and are controlled by their lust for more. These all have natural role-play consequences: humans are played as idealistic, religious, and family oriented, dwarves are played as industrious inventors who look constantly to make and know new things for profit, and orcs are played as noble, yet violent brutes.
However, the elves have no real visible role-play consequence to their curse. Elf players are a big proportion of the server, with some of the biggest cities. There are so many elves that there are even multiple cities for the same race! This is surely not an accurate representation of Iblees' curse: "May your forest halls forever be silent, and your hearts heavy with sadness" [Iblees, Lord of The Craft Wiki].
Elves seem to be the character players play when they don't really want to role-play, but they instead want to have a powerful character who lives forever and who they can learn magic on. This lack of a real curse for the elves makes their role-play and lore feel empty and explains why elves have to constantly borrow from other races on the server to stay relevant and interesting.
Therefore, I want to see what people think about making an upper limit on the amount of elves that can be played at any one time. This would help provide a real rareness to the elves that will invigorate their culture and communities and centralize them more. I think the cap on the elves should be around 100 active players. Any player who goes inactive for more than 12 months has to re-apply for their character.
The CA should require that the elf player provides a complete understanding of their curse, as very few seem to even know about it or care right now.

The Silver Construct
Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:
- Golems are humanoid constructs imbued with sigils for various functions. They have a gemstone core, which, if exposed, can cause an explosion. Golems can be combated by targeting their external sigils or destroying their core. They are not invulnerable but have varying degrees of durability depending on the type of Golem. Auric Oil can render their sigils inert. Golems cannot learn magic or wear armor. They are made of five core sigils: Activation, Memory, Touch, Hearing and Sight. They are created on a golem anvil.
- They lack emotion and feelings as descendants experience them. They follow and look for an 'impera' or purpose. They execute goals relentlessly until completion, yet they have free will. Sigils can change color based on 'mood' or condition. Berserk golems last a minimum of one role play encounter.
- Five types of cores: the ones playable with a CA being Mundus and Brutus. A Mundus core is the most common, being modeled after the descendants in height and build and can receive two sigils. They are usually 5-8ft tall. Slower than their descendant counterparts. The larger, the stronger. 4 hits with a blunt axe to the core. 3 to disable. 5 bladed to disable sigils. Brutus Core: Stronger, bigger (8-12ft), and slower than an olog. 1 sigil slot. Can take 7 hits from a blunt object to the core, 4 to disable, and 5 bladed to disable sigils. Brutus Core golems are incapable of fine work.
- There are 7 sigils, either combative, non-combative, or both. The non-combative sigils are respectively a compass, a dowser, and a physical labor sigil (requires 3 emotes). The combative / mixed sigils are respectively a 1 emote ray of light or a 3 emote blast of blinding light, golem stunner (2 emote activation, 3 emote stun), vibration sight (10 meters), or golem speech.
If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?
-
Made of stone, the core being made of solid quartz. Humanoid. No genitalia. The height of an elf (six and a half feet).

What were you perma banned for if I may ask?
For getting 10 warning points on the forums. The final straw was posting a screenshot of my server list that included 2b2t and I guess it had something the forum mods didn't like.
9 hours ago, TheosVult said:Do you still speak to friends you made in the server when you were active?
No, unfortunately. I only really talk to real life friends nowadays.
9 hours ago, TheosVult said:You said you remember the night you applied, why did you choose to join or how did you come across the server?
Well, I was watching a YouTube channel called LordDakr which used to do Minecraft builds. One of the builds was lord of the rings themed and I was looking for a lord of the rings themed Minecraft server after watching that. I found that and applied to play a Dwarf who was afraid of spiders.

I decided that instead of a Farfolk I'd be playing an orc, so I'm gonna hang out in the Krugmar community.

Less of an ask and more of something I'm sharing.
How's it feel knowing that Lylion's daughter (Luna!) is still alive and active?WOW! What a blast from the past! That's incredible. Do you play them? Sorry my memory is so bad from those times. Lylion was such a funny character. And I remember Luna and Arabella very clearly. DM me more about it I'd love to hear more.

Got anything in mind for a new character, now that you're back?
What's a game you got into while away from LotC?
Hey, I've had my ups and downs. It's been a rough few years for everybody but overall I've been pretty good.
I'm thinking of making a Farfolk character and getting into magic again. I love doing mage rp.
Well, to be honest I haven't been playing too many games at all, but the last game I couldn't put down was Binding of Isaac.1 -

What motivates you to come back?
Good memories and the new map. I'm interested in meeting up with people I used to talk to and see how they're doing. I also want to do some role-play.

Here's my take
How did you last 8 years?
Favorite RP?
Favorite character?
Favorite player and why it's not me?1) Well, I grew up with the server, so it is comforting and nostalgic in a way and brings back a lot of memories. So I guess I've lasted long based on that.
2) I loved roleplaying with JakobiWitness and the Adunians back in Axios I believe.
3) My favorite character was probably the mage Elindor. He was such a great, energetic role-player.
4) Don't know you!

Hello!
It's been a very long time since I've seriously played but I've returned for the new map. I wanted to catch up and say hi to the new people and see if anybody I used to play with is still around.
I can still remember the night I applied to the server very clearly. I've been here for a long time and really enjoyed myself. I was a moderator twice and part of the community team for awhile. I was even permabanned once!
I've had a great time and hope to play more soon. Ask me any questions about life, or the server, or anything.

Clarification: Monks can only (lore-wise) fight in defense.Oh it’s April Fools Day

I know it’s April 1st, though this isn’t an April Fools’ Day joke.
Hello, some of you probably know me. I am Jasper / Kinslayer, though as always I change my name, I now go by Budo, probably for good. It’s been a little bit since I’ve seriously played, though I’m feeling bored under quarantine and life in general is better for me. I am interested in seeing what the community is like nowadays and how it’s changed. I hope things are a bit more mature, or at least less toxic. I don’t know much about the current landscape or what nations are doing or where they are doing those things. I hope to make new friends and see some of my old friends. ? Thank you.
