Gold is soft, not brittle. It has poor toughness, which means it has little resistance to abrasion i.e. it’s soft That doesn’t mean it falls apart when struck, instead it dents and warps.

Firing a length of rebar from a crossbow seems kind of silly, but okay. Armour’s created to not kill you when it breaks. Like even assuming there’s some sheared edges, you’re wearing at least gambeson underneath the platemail, which would mitigate this ‘shockwave’ which(correct me if I’m wrong, I only got a C in high school physics) doesn’t seem like it’s actually a thing based in reality. Also steel is usually springy to some degree, so even with this ‘shockwave’ it’s not going to destroy the integrity of the plates. Bows, crossbows and slings etc. all require three emotes to use. Shaving off an emote on a crossbow that can supposedly penetrate through platemail is unreasonable. Edit: Rolling for this is silly. Rolling is lazy RP and even if you’re going to use it, the other combatant should agree, you shouldn’t force it on them.

Wasn’t the real issue that people meta-rallied a whole guard force to their exact location on roads, while being bandited? Not sure this is really needed honestly, but it’s a neat plugin.

The knowledge of wootz steel was only lost due to the rise of Western industrial steel production outpacing it though. These circumstances haven’t happened in LOTC’s setting, so why would it be lost? Like I’m not going to say “Oh there’s no industrial revolution so I can metagame wootz steel,” because that’d be dumb, but to what degree are people going to be able to acquire the kadarsi ore? Is it going to be locked up and a ball ache to get? Or can anyone acquire it?

Wootz steel doesn’t require another ore, it’s a crucible steel made with iron ore, pig iron and a flux like silicate sand. If we’re making this crystalline stuff a unique flavour for Kadarsi steel, for the sake of some unique flare on the server, then alright. Does this then mean that one requires the Kadarsi ore to make any wootz/Damascus steel?

Isn’t Kadarsi steel based upon Damascus steel? In which case it’s just a wootz crucible steel, why does it need another ore?

Needs another spelling and grammar check. Otherwise I don’t see a habitat listed for the Iron Beetles, and I know ST have an ongoing biome project, which will require that. Fun cultural stuff, I like it.

Preventing new charters for the time being seems like a harsh, but fair measure currently. Charter cleanup has been so neglected, this is needed. I know it takes more effort, but seeing old charters turned to ruins would be really cool, rather than just being nuked. If that’s still possible.
