  9. COMMUNITY TEAM UPDATE [Posted April 2024] INTRODUCTION - @HogoBojo Howdy everyone, I hope that y’all are having a great day. Here we are with our team's quarterly update. We’ve been up to lots the last three months, and I hope that this update provides some transparency as to some of the things that we’ve been up to. A special thanks to my team as per usual for all their hard work. Without further ado, I’ll let you get onto the update. CURRENT ROSTER We’ve had a few people depart the team, as well as welcome a few new additions. Thank you to those who left for all their hard work & a huge welcome to our newcomers. INTRODUCTION - APPLICATIONS Applications are always a crucial part of the server, as they serve as the gateway through which new players must pass to join the server, as per the 2023 end of year update the response times of the applications were an area that we wanted to improve on greatly. During the past three months, after lots of hard work and some changes to our internal processes. We are satisfied to report that our response time to apps has significantly improved. Previously, it would take days for a response, but now applications will get a response often within a few hours or in extremely rare cases up to a day or two. This improvement is due to the new quotas set by the community team and the retraining that the team have undergone to ensure that all applications meet the required standards. With that being said, please find below the application data for March. __________ APPLICATIONS - March From January to March 2024, we saw a total of 671 applications submitted and reviewed in this current quarter of 2024. Out of these, 389 new players were accepted. In January, a total of 274 applications were submitted and reviewed. In February, we saw a total of 192 applications submitted and reviewed. This leads us to March 2024, we saw a total of 205 applications submitted and reviewed. Out of these, 126 new players were accepted! Our accepted/denied percentage ratio this month was around 126/79. Please note that the Racial & Timezone Data shown will only be shown for accepted players. - Accepted/Denied Ratios - - Race-Specific Data - - TimeZone Data - - Raw Application Data - - Racial Data - - Humans - Total: 67 Adunian: 7 Heartlander: 4 Highlander: 9 Farfolk : 7 No Subrace: 40 - Elves - Total: 46 Wood: 14 Dark: 14 High: 15 No Subrace: 3 - Dwarves - Total: 11 Cave: 1 Mountain: 5 Forest: 2 No Subrace: 3 - Orcs - Total: 2 Orc: 2 Goblin: 0 - Halflings - Total: 0 - Timezone Data - Oceania: 5 America: 88 Europe : 33 - Accepted/Denied Ratio - Total: 205 Accepted: 56 Pending-Accepted: 70 Pending-Denied: 59 Denied : 20 APPLICATION MONARCH The title of Application Monarch for March goes to @MockingbirdArt With the most applications reviewed this month, @MockingbirdArt is our reigning Application Monarch of March, followed by @Smoland @NotAPan. COMMITMENT UPDATES Media Team GENERAL OVERVIEW We believe the media team is a vital part of the server, both for the community that is already here as well as the community that we hope to grow to in the future, being a vital part of our outreach and general server growth. As such we have a number of ongoing projects that you will be able to view shortly, made by the many talented media team members listed below. I hope you look forward to watching these amazing projects once they are public. Blake0205: Blake, as many of you may know, was working on weekly Warclaim showcase videos, amounting to eight total upon completion, seven of which being in the last three months. Huge shout-out to him for his tireless & fast-paced work to get these videos out. Special thanks as well to those who helped supply replay recordings. He is currently working on a city showcase for Haense, as well as is looking to do several more for a few other interested realms in the future. If you would like your city to possibly be showcased, please reach out to a media-team member or @Blake0205 on Discord. Smol_Bean: Regarding the guides, that were previously spoken on in our update to wrap up 2023, in which some CT saw to writing and updating a variety of guides on the forums, in hopes of helping more new players and old alike. @Smol has been working on producing many of these into condensed video formats to update the outdated tutorial videos on our YouTube, at this time we have two videos planned out with hopefully more to come, the first of such is already in the process of being made and is planned to be finished late April/early May. WhatASithuation WhatASithuation is the newest member of the media team, after some settling into the hustle and bustle of CT, they have begun planning and working on some shorts for the various social media platforms. Starting with a brief trailer type video for the server, they then plan to finish our series of nation showcases, covering any of the new nations that have sprung up since the map began as well as any nations that have received a major rebuild in the last couple months. Sefardi Over the last couple weeks, Sefardi has been hard at work creating a story-book like video blending together beautifully hand drawn art, video clips and a variety of interesting editing effects. The video will showcase an event that took place in Balian not too long ago and will be released soon. SaviourMeme Some of you may have seen the WIP screenshots, but for those that have not. Saviour is working on a short showcase video showing off the beautiful landscapes and builds of the server using newly released beta versions of the Distant Horizons 2.0 and Iris Shaders mods. The video should go public in the next couple days. As always, if you have any suggestions for future project ideas, feel free to reach out to any of our media team members. Wiki Wiki is a constant ongoing project for not only the community team itself, but our many dedicated non-team helpers as well as all the work that is done on the wiki by the community itself. For the last little bit of time since the last update the wiki has not had a concrete focus and simply worked on updating various outdated parts of the wiki overall, as well as checking over the recently completed war and making sure that the wiki page as well as all related wiki pages are as unbiased as possible. Community Services (Map Art, Capital Pastes) Heyo everyone, providing a quick update on the state of Community Services. Nothing much has changed in Map art or Capital Pastes, so we are going to use this spot to give a brief reminder of what we offer in terms of those services. As we mentioned previously, and im sure many of you have heard this but, complete Capital Pastes are possible. As for maps, you can request to have an image converted into a map or multiple to bring your real world art into the game, with each piece costing 100 mina. Follow the link for more information: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/forum/1615-map-art/ Map Art Stats: Since the start of the map we have completed a total of 138 map art requests and handed out 296 maps. Events and Arts Contests @annabanana1014 took the lead in planning, facilitating, and orchestrating a series of vibrant community events for 2024. spanning Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Barbie Day, and Poetry Day. With careful organization and a passion for community involvement, the team ensured that each event was engaging and meaningful for all participants. All CT created items for these events were led by @KaptainScarlet. During the Lunar New Year celebration, the team curated customary rituals such as dragon dances and distributing red envelopes, symbolizing renewal and prosperity. @SaviourMeme played a significant role in the event by crafting the dragon and spearheading the festivities. Meanwhile, Valentine's Day festivities were marked by heartfelt gestures like card distributions and gift exchanges, fostering love and unity within the community. As St. Patrick's Day rolled around, the team planned festive giveaways and pranks, infusing the celebrations with Irish charm. Barbie Day became a pink-themed extravaganza, complete with dolls and movie screenings, while Poetry Day offered poets a platform to showcase their work and win prizes. Looking ahead, Annabanana1014 is planning the upcoming events for April, including Easter, Farm Animal Day, and Earth Day, promising more opportunities for community engagement and celebration. Throughout each event, the team hopes to create memorable experiences that strengthened community bonds and left a lasting impact on participants. If you want to read about the ongoing events check out the post here: POST And last but not least, the Community Arts Contest. Our last contest began in December and ran through till the end of January, where winners were announced in one of our monthly Community Team application update posts, prizes have been handed out (if you were somehow missed please reach out to me). We currently have another Arts Contest running that started a few days ago, if you are interested in participating in that please head over to the April Battle of the Arts post here: POST TEAM DIRECTION & CONCLUSION - @HogoBojo - Goals Over the Last Few Months - Over the last few months, we’ve had several goals. Firstly, we strived to continue working towards lower and lower app wait times each month. I believe that we’ve made good progress on this, with lots of times this month the page was cleared entirely, as well as having better app times on average. Secondly, we strived to continue our hard work in the Media sector both behind the scenes and the public facing. I believe that we made great strides on this, and published lots of Media content the last few months. The one note of contention that I would like to improve on is getting more shorts content again. Overall though, I am proud of what the Media crew has done and accomplished the last three months. Thirdly, we strived to look at the new player experience overall and look how we can improve this… Are there any informative guides that need updating or writing… What are gaps that team members aren’t online where players may need help, and how can we patch them, and so on. This goal is an ever-constant one, and something we always work towards. Towards this, I’ve become more strict on ensuring Monk Guidance's are handled ASAP, as this interaction is crucial to assist players when they first join & get them situated in a Community.. Additionally, we’ve continued our work on various guides, as well as started on some new ones. Some guides will come out as posts, whereas others are planned to release in video format. We’ve also seen a few additions to the team, which should hopefully patch some gaps of Team Members being offline caused by time zones. These are just some of what we’ve done– for the sake of time, I shalln’t ramble on. - Future Goals - Moving forward, I’d like to bring back a focus on shorts, and have several new TikTok & YouTube shorts uploaded. Additionally, I’d like to seek more accurate data collection methods for Player Retention– as this is something we’d like to publish, but unfortunately the manual method employed is not very accurate. I hope that we can combat this, and publish our findings before or on the next quarterly update. - Feedback Form - Since its inception, the Community Team has been dedicated to assisting wandering souls, whitelisting players, aiding new & old players alike, and much more. However, it's been some time since we've sought feedback on the Community Team itself. With the survey below, our goal is to gather valuable anonymous insights into what the Community Team excels at and where it could improve. We will be aiming to post this form every three months. Please provide honest feedback so we may improve our team's performance. You can find the survey below: https://forms.gle/JrUyvtrc1DkkgwR76 (Form will close after one week.) - Conclusion - Overall, it is my belief that we’ve had a productive quarter, with a variety of things being accomplished. Personally, I always believe that there’s room for improvement for me, the team, and will continue to strive towards that end. Those of you who have feedback, I urge you to submit your feedback anonymously above utilizing our feedback form. Thank you all for reading. We will be posting a monthly Application Update post as well as a larger CT Update post every 3 months. If you have ideas for Projects the Community Team should pursue, please let us know. Need help? Feel free to contact a community team member via the forums, Discord, or you can use the command /creq in-game and a member can help you out there! Shout-out The Community Team - For their hard work over the past three-months and for all the help they gave in writing this update.
