  1. “Farewell, old friend.” Said Anordal, coming to take a deep exhale. “.. There is so few of us, now.”
  2. Will see you may 5th
  3. The statue stood in the rain, dour and tall, watching on as its disciple carried out a work set in motion long, long ago.
  4. Valandos listened to one of his scribes that recounted the account to him, being illiterate himself, and snorted after each couple lines.
  5. I actually disagree with this amendment. This is an artificial time gate that does nothing but burn people out, and this has not really been a problem so far. Edit. This also does not address the possibility for non heralds to become azdrazi, which is in the current lore.
  6. Whispers of an upcoming merger and acquisition involving $HNSE. May be interesting to consider long positions. . .

  9. To be honest? The one kind of rp that I missed out on was setharian era harbingers. I think they were probably the coolest CA and I always enjoyed the Aesthetic they had, which is why I was so excited about Mordring wraiths as they fit into a similar niche. Otherwise? Nah, I dont think I have any regrets or other things I would've participated in. Purple! I think Dibley. Very much enjoyed the kinds of rp he put out, and his vision, and like the impact he left on the server, He's still around and kicking.
  10. Yeah of course! Tanith got wronged by very powerful people at the time period, and whilst being objectively in the right, she came up against an entire corrupt government.
  11. Oh boy, here we go again. Thanks so much Luv, and yeah its been a minute - We've grown up together on this place and been through a lot. Means a lot you still reach out. 1) Necromancy. I think i've spent close to four? five? Six? years doing necromancy now and being necromancy adjacent. I find the deeplore and the years and years of being involved with that community absolutely fascinating, and also seeing its evolution over the years. Every other 'dark magic' has always been in its shadow, and I think that will always be true - It is the magic to create interaction with. 2) Ostromir. For the mentioned reasons above and also the period in which I played him, the character had a very deep story which I very thorougly enjoyed, and a lot of characters that are around today are a result of something that he did. Im very happy with the sendoff he had, and I think the reason I enjoy him over all of my other characters is because his story actually had a proper, perhaps bittersweet, end. 3) Vailor/Axios, imo. The time before discord. Mostly just my magic students these days. Im not really apart of any communities as mentioned above, I dont really believe in lotc communities and think they are bad for rp. RP narratives wise, Im mostly just a teacher now - I like to pass on my time on this server and server history to young generations, and those who would like to listen. ... Yeah my bad. I ended up just not having enough time : ( Divine Wrote some lore that involves him and the bastard of smoke. I think the final chapter is already written.
  12. The eternal son in law petitions I once more. Yes, yes you were. God Im surprised you remember! Its actually the same character as my Azdrazi, he had a redemption arc with Lore-games (If you can call it that). He went from serving Mordring to serving Azdromoth. Busy as all hell, haha. But that's life. I've been working on a lot of projects irl so here's to hoping they turn out well and my work pays off.
  13. I think Favorite characters wise, there's only really one that stands super far above the rest. Ostromir was single handedly my favorite character of all time, and I think his 2~ year run was a very eventful and deep roleplay experience that went through just about every possible theme I could've wanted to, with getting to play a bit of his undeath and leaving him off right as he started to decline from his zenith being the best way could've played him. A lot of people were impacted by his decisions, and a lot of the current roleplay that happens is still an echo of his life @GMROon the topic of knockons. @TreshureOnce mailed me a leather bound copy of Dune. Im yet to find a better read, but actively looking. I have How to make friends and influence people on my list, aswell as a few others that I'll dm you on discord about
  14. Hey Samspan, haha yeah its been a second and thanks a bunch! Scuffed in what sense? From just an overall standpoint, I think a variety of the bandit groups that have floated around over the years. I've definitely seen some shit and heard some shit while being around those discords, with probably a close third being a variety of the iterations of Oren, especially earlier versions from when I was younger. I'd be happy to specify more in discord if you'd want to reach out to me haha. Boxing match? I think my Ish'Urkal dark shaman or Aulkhorian my Azdrazi. A lot of my other characters were undead and or generally pretty physically weak so I think they'd not stand a chance in a 12 round elimination boxing match. Answered above. These days I mostly just observe and weigh in my opinion, do small culture events and manifest to play an elderly mentor character. I literally cannot get immersed otherwise. Void magic isn't broken. Its actually still probably the most capable magic on lotc - I think a large problem that the community has encountered, which I actually really enjoy from a storytelling standpoint is that an overwhelming majority of mages have no irp idea of what exactly they are doing, as they more or less just 'cast spells they are taught' as opposed to actually understanding what they are doing, and learning more about the magic and actual mechanics in character. This rewards players for actually going out and learning how void magic works, in lore, and allows for some pretty cool stuff when people use their brains - And punishes those who do not by merely having a spell list of pre-defined interactions. All of the above pretty much revolves around transfiguration, which is the only void magic that's actually changed in my opinion over the years (And tbh, 99.9% of void magic's flavor and actually powerful things to do). Every other magic is almost exactly the same +- some emote counts, and maybe the odd change to voidal shifting.
  15. Let me edit that out. It involved Ski_king3 and there is a reason he is TOS banned.
  16. Oh boy, where to even start. I like to think Ostromir and Friends running the Josephite Mafia with the explicit purpose of causing as much harm as humanely possible to the empire created a lot of problems which he never dealt with, affecting a lot of the modern situations which I find amusing. I once went and looked at a lot of the voidal magic MAs, and a very large chunk of them can be traced back to me and two of my friends from 2016 when we our characters tried their absolute hardest to amass a massive mage following and overturn the order of things. As it turns out, those students had students, who had students, who had students, who had students.. Did we hyper accelerate the spread of void magic? Who knows. My magic student @squakhawkwho I inducted into that kind of roleplay is now a story admin. Im certain there's more, but, I honestly cant recall anymore with how much time has passed. Not necessarily a knock on but: Back when I was very young, I used to mass produce constructs - So much so infact that we now have a 3 slot limit for creatures, which was first introduced to curb me making 20 golems a month. Im honestly surprised its survived this long and I find it funny.
  17. :) I wouldn't say I have a favorite, but you're amongst the top of the people who've done interesting things with the rp we had - In my opinion. Some other people are @squakhawk, Zidoax, Noz, @Areon, @Zonty, @Maclunkey, Dardonas, KBR, @Sorcerio, @JoanOfArc, @Air, @z3m0s, and @FieThere's a few others but I've personally been very impressed with all of these players and the direction they took concepts and lore which we roleplayed about. I'm very happy when people go and do their own thing and improve or evolve the concepts which I give them. I didnt know we had emojis on the forums. Huh
  18. Sorry my bad bro Favorite Community? To be honest if I had to choose, It'd probably be the orcs - However: I am of the opinion that 'Communities' are actually very detrimental to lotc because they promote groupthink, and in turn are bad for creativity as players will oftentimes just do what the community wants them to do, as opposed to what their character wants to do. Ever since discord has come to LOTC, things are a lot more 'centralized' around communities due to constant exposure and in turn, people becoming friends oocly even if their characters would not normally interact or would even be at odds with each other. Whilst I cant bash on people becoming friends, I do think this has hurt the dynamic nature of roleplay and has changed how the game itself works, as people on average do not commit hostile actions towards people they are oocly friendly with. Similarly, 'Communities' also force people who would not normally get along to interact and be friendly, and oftentimes do what is not in their own best interest for the sake of some arbitrary ooc group, as a nation or 'community' does not dictate a characters alignment, group affiliation or otherwise. I do not like this and think that the entire ooc element of lotc very much detracts from the pure roleplay element of the game. Yes, it makes organization easier. Yes playing with your friends is cool. And yet I think it takes away so much as players oftentimes stop thinking of themselves as individuals, in my experience.
  19. Not necessarily. I think the demographic is certainly changing, however that does not innately make it good or bad - Merely different. Do I enjoy interacting with the new demographic? I wouldn't say so. But that's ok. I've definitely grown and matured over the years, and I think my story is definitely coming to an end on this platform - That does not mean it's not ok for others to find enjoyment where I do not, and for themes and otherwise to shift from my personal vision. This is a platform for children, in my opinion and vision, first and foremost - And I think boomers screaming and crying how they hate the platform and think lotc is ruined or something in that vein is fundamentally ignorant and probably a bit less than self aware. Those times are not coming back, and we don't know what's coming in the future, but that is ok and I'm personally just an observer. No, I don't think so. Would I have treated it differently than I did? Probably. I think the person who I am today is someone who was shaped by eight years of being in high stress situations, but also someone who's been exposed to leadership and leadership positions since my childhood on this platform, even through a roleplay Lense, which has translated to my real-life circumstances. I don't really know another place where a 17-18 year old can lead a group of 80 people who each have their own interests and agendas in a 24/7 type of setting. Was I a good leader during these times? Sometimes. Sometimes I handled situations horribly. But the fact that I was able to make those kinds of choices and was in those kind of circumstances is both a good and bad thing - However I think it's helped me immensely as a person and I've learned far more than been harmed.
  20. I like your ability to explore very abstract concepts, and because of that find your roleplay very enjoyable, personally. Its been on and off, but like mentioned above, LOTC is a very interesting platform. I cant say I enjoy it as much as I used to, but I think that's because of me as opposed to the game itself. Very abstract and esoteric concepts can be explored and it is a place where hundreds of players act out and very much 'live' to create an environment that is not quite found in other spaces - I enjoy observing and interacting with it because of that. I'll have to get back to you on that. The characters I've accumulated over the years all have their very own and deep and thought out agendas which tend to adopt a certain aesthetic or otherwise, oftentimes shaped by years and years of interactions. I'm glad some people find it cool, not everyone does, but I think that's part of the point.
