Yul was born in a small subterranean goblin settlement, constructing general utilities for a close-by tribe of orcs. From a young age, he was taught how to assemble carts, and bend hot metal. Soon, beginning to pick up and interest more technically advanced contraptions. His upbringing was as traditional, and good, as far as goblin upbringings go. One of combat and creation, filled with stories of bravery and valor. There was one story in particular that stuck with him, shaping his values in regards of friendships. The teachings of Karthun, to his son, Roktar – “The dead died alone, boy. Make a friend or join them.” This is a major part as to why he desperately wants to become a part of a community. His parents were kind, and tried their best to teach him the history of surrounding tribes, in hopes of him joining one some day. Thanks to this, he too wishes to become a member of a tribe, but feels as if he lacks what it takes. Their business went bad, after the tribe they supplied eventually scattered – As did the goblin settlement. Yul had to head out into the world at 20 years of age. He decided to stay clear of the major tribes to begin with, roaming the desert, helping out with a few repairs here and there for food in return. During his travels, he met an elf who accompanied him a large part of the way. Despite what others had told him, he never disliked elves that much. Having heard that goblins might come from the mingling of orcs and elves in the distant past. Many of the stories he had been told were written down by Aveli, an elven author who studied Orc mythos and culture. Their paths split, and Yul hasn’t seen the elf since. He tried his hand at joining a tribe, but was quickly turned away after getting knocked out cold by a traditional greeting. But he’s determined to find somewhere to stay, be it through his skill in combat, or his connection to the spirits. Both of which are weaker than they should be.. So his journey continues, searching for a tribe that he can prove himself to. A nation to devote himself to, and something to fight for. He must be quick in succeeding, before he is claimed to be a whitewash. A fate worse than death, he has been told.
