  1. "Wubdezkha?" A Goblin would say as they scratched their head profusely in confusion "Yub, Rex has asked to have peace many times. Horde simply wants their sands back from when your rexes decided to invade our lands." The goblin would say pausing for a moment. "Maybe latz should ask latz own rex why they haven't tried discussing peace back? Our very race has been threatened since the beginning of this war and both sides have seen losses but it is only when the outnumbered horde starts winning that latz wants to speak of the horrors of war." The goblin would finish, clearly having more to say but turning to welcome the new influx of Goblins to the city.
  2. A Goblin would draw a reenactment of the battle.

would have been more convincing if lotc had a dev who could make it lol.
  4. Narthoks Farewell I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Grool for having the courage to reach out to me about my circumstances when all other Admins refused to update me or speak to me. Despite my differences with Grool I think it shows a great deal of integrity on his part and he has earned my respect for doing so. For those of you who were unaware, I am to be admin banned come friday. While ‘appeal’ is discussed I think we all know that I will never be unbanned from this server. My adventure on Lotc has been a great one that I will remember extremely fondly. Through all the epic battles, tragic deaths, betrayals and such. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of it. From when I first joined the server as a naive 14 year old looking for an escape. To now as I depart, a 22 year old on the cusp of entering post grad. Lotc has always been a passion of mine. Providing a much needed escape from periods of hardship in my life as well as providing me with the opportunity to make some genuinely lasting friendships that in some cases are approaching a decade in length. Here I built what many will agree has been the most persistent and consistent antagonist on the server. I have always been the foil or the villain to many here. And to some degree have enjoyed that role. Loss was always undesirable but never particularly anathema to me. And I tried to exemplify that philosophy in my actions. Always PKing on the first death, allowing my nations to be conquered rather than taking to endless lawyering. If I am to leave anything to Lotc I hope that among other things I hope that people remember that taking the server seriously and being passionate about it are not mutually exclusive. Enjoying lotc should not mean putting your own ooc interests over the narrative. Death and defeat progress the story far more than being the eternal hero ever could. Conflict is good for storytelling, something this server has increasingly forgotten. But in the end I can’t help but breathe some sigh of relief at my departure. I have a deep love for LOTC, it has been one of my fondest and most consistent hobbies for some third of my life. But the server for me has lost a great deal of its lustre. It feels incredibly difficult to create content, to expand and grow, to interact dynamically. I felt like a prisoner in my own city. I wish you all the best of luck in your future LOTC endeavors. To the Norlandic Community, both old and new Our trials and tribulations were some of my fondest memories not only on LOTC but irl. Many of you came to me as complete and utter retards and I’ve watched you grow into semi competent human beings. Norland has survived so much internal drama, so many annihilations and kept on chugging. I am incredibly proud of what we have continued to achieve and the strength of our community to keep getting up over and over and over again no matter what we face. My dms will always be open to all of you. The replacements I have appointed have my full confidence and should take the Nordish community successfully into the future wherever that may lead.. I will be setting the affairs of my nation in order, polishing off some pieces of lore and then departing.
  5. Alaric would send a prayer to the father. Though they may have been of dissimilar religions, and ideal even he had heard of the respect this man had. “May this war end soon, too many good men die while the vile stay hidden behind them in their walls. May you find your peace, Isaak.” ((ooc)): cheers having the courage to pk, in war times dying in (good) rp and pking due to it really helps to build an interesting story.
  6. Norland should be Morsgrad, also have a CT hop in to talk with us, we’ve been attracting a lot of new players and retaining more than 80% of the ones not tp’d away.
  7. PACT OF TAHU’LAREH 1740 “To guarantee sovereignty and peace in our time” SIGNED 1740 This pact hereby entails the principles to an accord agreed upon by the signees, to be adhered to by both their respective civilians and military alike. Should either principle be broken by a respective participant of either nation, then a truce will be inherently invoked, ergo allowing a maximum of three saints days wherein efforts to re-evaluate the accord, and, or, deem the accord no longer viable. Both parties shall uphold a state of peace between their respective realms, forbidding any acts of aggression onto either signatory part’s realm or populace. Henceforth, both parties will adhere to a strict non-aggression agreement that will be enforced. Both parties will aid one another in obtaining fugitives and criminals to their respective civilisation, unless one has a pact with said respective nation from which the fugitive hails from. GODRIC, HIS SERENE HIGHNESS, Aldred of the Tundrak Bloodline, First of His Name, Grand Prince of the Princedom of Fenn and Mali’Fenn, Protector of the Idhren’tirn, Hesin’fin, Commander of the Citadel of Acael, Protector of Tahu’lareh, The Chosen of Wyvurn Chrom’ilvya Atmorice, High Emissary of the Evar’hileian, Grand Councillor to the Grand Prince, Matriarch of the Atmorice Bloodline
  8. In all seriousness though ideally this is a good system and a good step forward, having mods actually talk with players (preferably in vc, tired of mods being afraid or unwilling to communicate with players even if they're undesirables) and those involved in the situation will help get rid of what seems to be knee jerk reactions from mods when nobody involved want any punishments. We’ll see how it goes, here’s to hoping though.
  9. Lorien would stumble upon the fellow elf, a bow slung over his shoulder and arrows snuggly in their quiver on his hip. “ah, I see another eagerly awaits the slaughter” he’d say as he raised the bow from his shoulder, plucking it a few times ready to take a few shots into the mass. “who you got mina on? Personally I think there won’t be a single orc leaving that battle without moistened toes” he’d say with a slight chuckle.
  10. This is nice and all, but generally when it comes to the bandit side of the RP most bandits are trying to get in and out as quickly as possible to avoid a meta rally. You tend to learn quick from the first time someone stops responding or starts to take forever to respond and suddenly you're surrounded by half a city to go for the kill quick to not give them the chance. As for leaving the person alive I half agree with this. The point of being a bandit is to be a villain, and for most bandits the goal is to either “get rich” or “get kills” if I were just a thief I wouldn't try to confront anyone in the first place. The issue with letting someone live is the risk of your identity being given away, the more people who get a look at you the more detailed a description of you can be made and the quicker you’re likely to get killed yourself. There’s a responsibility placed upon both sides in bandit encounters and I tend to see most of the blame for the rise in quick “give loot now die” encounters placed upon the bandits whilst the people who get bandited and take it to ooc slinging insults and making the whole experience un-enjoyable just get passed over. I no longer bandit but near the end of my time I just wanted to get the encounter over with to not deal with the ooc crying.
  11. Players already had an issue with how VBs were given out, and how vague some of the reasoning for their VBs being given were. All this is is an even more encompassing VB with even vaguer conditions for being given. I don’t see this new system not being abused and numerous players being CB’d over a bad emote or someone crying that they’re being attacked for being an ass in rp, claiming its “oocly driven” and staff just dropping the hammer without consulting the other party involved as has become the norm with VB’s.
  12. I honestly don’t know how staff expect players being in control will suddenly make everyone cooperate when players haven’t even been able to cooperate when staff were enforcing them to. This whole “people will naturally respect each other” mentality is nonsense and all that this change in rules will do is get rid of any consequences people used to have to face for being shitters in rp. Before if you were an ******* you’d get raided, now if someone’s an ******* you get to just watch **** be flung at you as you wait for a nation leader to give you permission to attack their people they’re supposed to be protecting. I don’t ever see a Nation leader consenting to any sort of war with any real consequence, who would willingly put their necks on the line? All this will do is allow players to harass each other in rp and rest easy knowing that they can’t be touched.
  13. Hold up, wasn’t the last Renatus>Haense warclaim in this blue circle? Like right outside their walls?
