  1. Markus Sarkozic has night terrors in the months preceding the event. Shall his folk's legacy be ripped away from them once more? Or shall the mandate of Heaven shine on the Adrians as it had at the Battle of the Steeples against the odds. He remembered advice he had given to Canonius, and repeated this mantra to himself in comfort; "Align yourself to the designs of GOD, and you shall know no failure. Any obstacle is just another thread of his tapestry..."
  2. THE WITCH ACT OF 1968 ORDER OF THE ADRIAN DUMA TO THE PEOPLE OF CAMP ST EMMA, The Adrian interests are best served by a habit of proper superstition and opposition to the gifts of other races, be they magik, fairy otherwise unnaturally fantastical. In times of unrestrained magik amongst Adrians, scandal is frequently stirred by its tolerance as it is in many communities of men. The agents of magik often put the interests of their arcane study before the ethics of the Scroll of Virtue and traditions of the True Faith of Man. Therefore the Adrian DUMA moves to preserve the virtues of its people, and hereby declares that foreign-magik to be forbidden within all lands under its authority. Magik shall only be hereafter permitted by the authority of the DUMA or its relevant agencies on a specific practitioner basis, to be granted only to Adrians or those of close trusted Adrian affiliation who shall be accountable to the ethics of Man. Any who practices acts of magik within our lands shall find themselves banished from it and fined a sum of 200 minae should they wish to return upon such a banishment. Upon either repeat or severe offenses they shall be forced to serve 2 years of penance at a parish or monastery of the DUMA’s choice. so that they may be brought to humility before the graces of GODANISTAN. Members of the Adrian guard and the public are allowed to report and in the case of guards, enforce the punishment, should such cases of illegal casting take place. Furthermore, members of the various holy orders of the Church shall be allowed to ensure compliance should coincidence place them to do so. IN NOMINE ADRIAE His Grace, Markus Marie Sarkozic Exilic “Duke” of the Adrians, Count of Aldersberg, Defender of Dumacracy The Right Honorable, Canonius of Winburgh Maer of Camp St Emma
  3. The ESTABLISHMENT of CAMP STEMMA THE SETTLEMENT OF ADRIANS As the sun rises, casting a warm glow over the rugged landscape, activity buzzes near the southern edge of the Midlands. Here, nestled against the mountainous hills that fortify the intersection of Aevos a camp is settled. The air is alive with purpose as families of Adrian and Middelan descent work tirelessly to erect shelters and create a sense of home. With each stake driven into the ground and every canvas stretched tight against the breeze, they defy the hardships that drove them from their homeland, determined to make a new start. In the heart of the bustling scene, figures of authority and resilience yell out commands; Count Markus, observes with a mix of concern and resolve. At his side is Baron Stefan "The Old Turtle", who soon hurries off to bring the famous Euler Max and other refreshments to the working Adrians, sporting a mirthful smile. The hard-working yellow berets, Ordermen of St. Daniel and regular guards can be seen cutting down a tree to set up their makeshift guard tower while Brother Ninnias gives a rather unconvincing speech centered around his deep-rooted hatred for yellow flowers. Camp St. Emma, placed on the steps of Mount Hugues’ Helm. Depicted from the west with the towering Kingswood hiding the horizon. Amidst the sounds of construction and conversation, a spirit of unity emerges, binding these displaced souls into a community forged by resilience. The Sarkozics and Eulers, with their unwavering resolve, step up as leaders, inspiring their fellow exiles. Ancient names of Adrian Lore return to positions of service, a Vladov commander and Tuvyic wiseman. Aspiring young refugees from the burnt Heartlands enlist in the civil services and restored Greycloak Watch. Burghers, knights and artisans flock to the campsite to partake in the Adrian experiment. That which was forged in the crucible of Raevir culture and refined through its traditions integrated with the spirit of the Heartlands; the jewel of Humanity, the Adrian DUMA shall be restored in exile, duchy or not. The greatest quest in Humanity is renewed as the four corners of the DUMA grounds are set, and as the tent town takes shape against the backdrop of the looming slopes, through shared struggles and triumphs the exilic Adrians carve out a new legacy in this untamed land. All the while, a shadow lurks as rumors of Dark Adunaic lepers pour forth from the Kingswood, foreign interests conspire again to conspire their legacy, and strange sounds are heard in the coming dusk. As night falls, the flickering lights of the Adrian settlement are burning bright within the cold darkness… LEADERS OF THE CAMPGROUNDS Markus Sarkozic Exilic Duke of the Adrians Son of the controversial Duke Heinrik Sarkozic and raised in the cruel crucible of his rebellion, Markus Sarkozic is a chivalrous scholar of Adria who orchestrated the surrender of the Midlands in the Aevos Coalition war to bring peace at great cost. Entrusted with land by the Throne of Numenost afterwards, Markus Sarkozic is lord of the slopes of which Camp St. Emma is settled upon. He is commander of the Adrian Legacy, and protector of its institutions. Reach out to Markus for questions about Adrian Lore or to seek his patronage! Stefan Euler Producer of the Duma Nominated by Markus for his prolific service in previously restoring Adria during the reign of Heinrik, Stefan Euler is the second in command of the Exilic Duke and governs the most important Adrian institution; the DUMA. Stefan also manages the tavern and has published philosophical writings for the Turtle Knights. Reach out to Stefan Euler to learn about the Duma or to work at the tavern! Canonius of Winburgh Maer of Camp St. Emma Canonius was elected still as a boy to be Maer of Little Belvitz, the Adrian ghetto of Numenost. Now that the Adrians transition to the slopes of Hugues’ Helm, Canonius is in charge of common activity and overseeing the stewards. Reach out to Canonius for any questions about housing and storage! Rickard Vladov Captain of the Greycloak Watch House Vladov was one of the two original founding houses of Adria in the Old Realm, and its ancient blood has returned in service to the Adrian people. Rickard Vladov was an orderman of St Daniel’s bridge who migrated to join the Adrian Diaspora upon hearing of their renewed mission despite the loss of the Midlands. Quickly showing a wit for command as expected of his esteemed bloodline, Rickard Vladov was appointed Captain. Reach out to Rickard Vladov to learn about the Greycloak watch or other military training! Regina Chief Burgher of Aldersberg & Tobiasz Maxim Sarkozic Burgher of Sarkoz Supply Regina was originally a guard of an armed force who left the Midlands, and was immediately commended for their loyalty when she stayed. Regina was granted her title after displaying immense aptitude for merchant work. Tobiasz Maxim was the eldest son of Markus, though was disinherited after a troublesome youth and sent to travel with Vasiyeva caravans. There, he was foretold to secure a great wealth like his namesake St Tobias of Aldersberg, so he returned as a merchant to work for his father. The two of them are recognized as quickly rising stars amongst the diaspora, having amassed a great wealth for the resettlement effort. Reach out to Regina or Tobiasz for job opportunities or if you wish to become a wealthy merchant! Alexios Bishop of St. Arpad Vasyl Sarkozic Acolyte and Steward Bishop Alexios is entrusted by the Church of the Canon to shepherd over the flock of Adria, and oversees their liturgies and faith life. Serving along side him is the second born of Markus Sarkozic and a young veteran of the Aevos Coalition War, Vasyl Otto Sarkozic. Vasyl’s service to Adria entrusted him to any position of his choosing but the humble Vasyl sought only to entrust his life to the Adrian folk and the One True Faith. Reach out to Vasyl for general help, and to either for guidance on Adrian faith!

  9. "The skin color of Caves Dwarves is always a darker coloration." While I would agree this is poorly worded and ignores the chance of variety, saying it has no bearing on skin color is definitely wrong. Cave dwarves have always been either pale, or gray, desaturated. But you never have a bright pink skintoned cave dwarf.
  10. Markus Sarkozic recalls a memory of when he first encountered homosexual behavior, and rambles to a Numenedain knight. “I can remember exactly when my epiphany was. I hadn’t thought much about it, to tell you the truth. I was a squire in Velec, and my papej was dropping me off. I remember I was about to get out of the cart, and I look to my right, two well-dressed men in wigs kissed each other. They gave each other a kiss. And I’ll never forget it, I looked at my papej, and he said, ‘Mark, it’s simple. They love each other. It’s simple,’ — now I’m not joking … And it’s never been, it’s never been … It’s just that simple. It doesn’t matter whether it’s same-sex or a heterosexual couple. They should be married. What is the problem?”
  11. When Realm Applications make a return, I would advocate that they should require the signatures to be on their most active persona- because communities are composed in their core of players who are invested in them. More importantly however in my opinion is that Realms need to have progression. I mentioned this in mapdev a while ago, but groups are successful when they go through actual progression. This is a Roleplay Server after all, so narrative of course maintains a high importance. This could be implemented by forcing groups to have actually had time going about different nations or what have you, or maybe allowing them to have a campsite before they can have a nation. I think as well the concept of Realms should be changed from purely a governing system for tiles to be implemented more substantially across all levels of 'Groups'. I think we are artificially encouraging people to divide up as much as possible because you get more recognition for being a less active but independent state than you do for being an active vassal of another nation. I think it's a warning sign that the system is flawed that RP hubs are discounted as being put on map but far less active 'Realms' are put on there. Maybe the system should instead be designed to be about integrating the different levels of RP groups and their ability to affect world than it is just monitoring tile ownership at the highest organizational level of group. I may draft up this idea with more detail and make my own forum post, because I don't think I can do it justice with just 300 words. But I really think we should focus on the user-end of how people interact with groups and how it encourages gameplay and roleplay as opposed to closely following the default of what we have done on server for a while, because all the current realms change as opposed to settlement and nations did was make everyone a nation, but nothing actually else.
  12. Markus Sarkozic watches over the events of his former domain with trepidation. His fingers anxiously twitch upon the pommel of his family blade Aventine (something he would never give up, despite his fondness for old books). "Was it so urgent to rise to rebellion only to Surrender as I had? I recall an agitation against my own maneuvers of surrender for the purpose of reconciliation." He paused to consult the expressions of his own sons, who were unlikely to raise any word of dissent against their father's character either in their familial trust or perhaps acknowledgement of his growing violent paranoia. Markus prattled on, "If the Covenant denies this, I would like to see what reason they have. My greatest complaint against House Van Aert was always that they would brandish their sword before having a chance to wield the pen. But by GOD, this coalition is hardly different! They cannot speak what they want of the Midden, nor communicate regarding their leader's suspected habits. It would be just war, even if not agreeable, should the wargoal be to suppress a previously violent regime- or to enforce terms of Surrender previously agreed by the sovereign of the Midland Realm. But nothing!" The former duke would continue to kvetch to any who would listen, and would waste his day whining about politics that he could after all instead do something about.
  13. Markus Sarkozic read over the allegations from within Numenost. No other city across Canondom, in his estimation, took so seriously offenses against Church and GOD. This grizzled veteran furthermore maintained a great suspicion of Haense, and suggested to his sons a theory. "Why does the King nor his court speak to his innocence? A claim so wild is easily disputed- but they make niet effort whatsoever. This is wildly against their own interests- and remember, that always a prince is guided by his own interests. There can only be two reasons; that the accusations though wild are largely true, or that the King of Haense thinks so little of the world that he does not believe they are warranted an explanation; that he is due their total trust without advocacy. This latter attitude is what began to spell the doom of Gaspard- I worry for our Ruskan cousins in House Barbanov. They spur scandal against their storied legacy- and for what reason?" The Adrian shook his head as he contemplated such horror. Then he thought of his former kinsmen who had enraged return to Winburgh to fight against Haeseni control of their city. He detested the wars continuation; but could he blame them? He would speak to all Adrian refugees and any he met on the streets of Numenost a similar message; "Pray for the House of Barbanov, and pray for the Men of Midden! May redemption find both by the graces of GOD!"
  14. An old veteran of Adria's wars vaguely recalls childhood memories. The Duke, the Chancellor, and the Maer; all three laughing as they shared drinks at the Basking Turtle. One night, a drunken Duke spoke that if only more men were like the Maer, there would be less worries in the world. Markus Sarkozic signs the Lorraine and offers a prayer that the wisdom of Stefan might ride across the seas and many may live long mirthful lives.
  15. Markus Sarkozic wonders if Aleksandr was enjoying his Carrion history too much, and sought to emulate the possession of Yakov. Though Markus was hesitant to endorse such treachery if true, he did appreciate a fellow enjoyer of History and gave Aleksnadr a thumbsup. "Surely this man is the King of Ruska!"
  16. Markus Sarkozic proudly recognizes MS paint when he sees it. He supports such cartography endeavors, and sends an ADOBE suit subscription to the south

  19. The Duke of Adria watches the Coalition army marching west from Easworth Heights through Winburgh's front yard to return to Westmark. He scratches his head as he contemplates the coming course of war. A clump of hair falls out. This sign of ill health somehow stirs confidence in the duke, and he calls out to his courier; "I have taken auspices. Fetch the Bard, we shall seek audience with the Grand Covenant soon again." Markus looked back out the window and counts the banners of the coalition. Six remain. How many of them truly sought our people's destruction? His fingers shook in mild mania as he considered this. Surely not six. His smile widened, and he left his office to find Captain Radmir. Despite negative covenant covfefe, Markus Sarkozic remained with heart and hope.
  20. The Duke of Adria wipes some sweat off his brow. He remarks aloud to his aides, "6 more to go! May GOD forever bless the Númenedain, most righteous of Canonists!"
  21. The Duke of Adria scowled as he read these words. He would call out to his couriers, that they might lift his words across the roads. "I asked only for a home for my people, and was denied. They insisted that our culture was an accursed one, and that there can be no home for Midlanders unless we are to be evicted and spread across all nations in a Diaspora. This is a bold retelling, certainly, of the day's events. Let it be known the terms of peace listed as a 'Hope for New Dawn' remain, and that the war shall continue not for pride, but the envy of lesser nations seeking to remove the midlanders from any chance of home." The Duke of Adria with the help of a Planeswalker observes the similarity in the Piast Dynasty Crest and that of House Sarkozic.
  22. Norli Starbreaker had long since retired, his time of service to Kin and Clan long done. But when the young Ulfar Starbreaker insulted him so flagrantly, and for little perceived reason; it awoke something that had long been dormant in Norli. This feeling was beyond even his own words, for the only apt description was an Irongrinder adage. Spite makes right.
  23. A Hope for Dawn To the King Aleksandr and the fellow members of the Grand Covenant, I do not mean to deceive you. The change from Veletz to Adria is not in an attempt to pull a ‘swaperoo’ on the coalition, but to fundamentally begin a transformation in the substance of the midland realm. I understand that the dynamics of this would be not merely lost, but seemingly nonexistent to those outside the midlands. But the change was not in service to outlanders, but midlanders. I will take full accountability for the actions of the Captain-Generals. Not because I was complicit in them, for this I shall deny at least to a major extent. Many sources from across Aevos can attest to the role I played within the Captain-General’s council, which was of ‘Countersignaller’ and opposition. At every move I advocated reconciliation and mercy, if only the accused admitted a desire for peace. But nonetheless, I did choose to fight alongside him in the defense of his regime, and now stand at a position that inherits his authority. It is only proper that I inherit his debts, and withstanding wrongs not yet made right. That a summit is called gives me trust that there are intentions to see a path forward for peace, wellbeing, and reconciliation. This war was a lamentable tragedy, but in the pursuit to see its end, to see justice be doled responsibly, and to see a restoration of a nonviolent Canonist order, this recent letter ‘Should Dawn Come’ has been the strongest proof of good intentions. I observe a lack of defined terms, and while I would inquire about such absence of that which I believe is paramount to not only bring peace but wage war; I am prepared to offer terms of my own. In exchange for peace, I, Markus Sarkozic: I) Would surrender all lands save those of Windburgh and its surrounding properties, Aldersberg and its surrounding properties, the village of Oxenstead and its surrounding properties and the Euler Steppe, II) Would establish a tribunal staffed by members of the Mother Church, named at the behest of His Holiness, to help steward this country and reintegrate it into the fold of the Church, III) Would aid in finding and arresting all hitherto named excommunicants that have not sought justice with the Mother Church, IV) Would dissolve the Duchy of Adria and lay it to rest in abeyance, V) Would invite a Holy Inquisition to investigate all of my remaining properties for any signs of Ibleesian, necromantic, Azdrazi, or any other dark influences with full military backing, VI) Would surrender my eldest son, Tobiasz Maxim, as ward to whichever court so desires them to instruct them on high morality, VII) Would arrange the payment of reparations in the form of minae and whatever additional resources may be harvested on the land available, VIII) Would swear against taking arms in aggression against Canonists without the express permission of the Mother Church, IX) Would reconstruct the government of my new properties under the supervision of the Mother Church and a neutral commission of the Covenant. These terms are not meant to impose on the coalition, but simply a means to begin an honest dialogue. I have nothing to hide, and nothing to gain but the graces of GODANISTAN and peace in the midlands. His Grace, Markus Marie Sarkozic Duke of Adria, Count of Aldersberg
  24. PROVISIONS OF DUCAL AUSTERITY THE AGENDA OF MARKUS SARKOZIC 8th day of Sigismund’s End of 1960 [Listen] “Observe the Adrian Effect; that the duma and its institutions bring prosperity to its every tract of land.” Random Adrian Alderman 4th Duma of the Sarkozic Restoration CREATION OF THE SIEGE TRIBUNAL The Duke of Adria hereby proclaims the creation of a SIEGE TRIBUNAL, a council of the best men of the Midlands to oversee its transition. The SIEGE TRIBUNAL shall commit itself to the formation of new civic institutions, budgetary soundness, defensive capability, upholding the dignity of the Midlands & its people, the de-escalation of conflict against, diplomatic reconciliation with and reparation to the Covenant to establish lasting peace. This tribunal shall endure for the course of the crisis and a supplementary two more years, or until the holding of a Duma to determine the nation’s fate, barring any external concession from negotiations. PERSONNEL OF THE TRIBUNAL Tribune of State Affairs [JoanOfArc] Tribune of the Duma [ radzig ] Aide to the Duke [ hemomancy ] Tribune of Civic Defense & Readiness [Tide1] Tribune of Budgetary Reconciliation & Urban Development [Rainalyn] Tribune of Rationing and Measures [moosehunter123] Siegemaster General [6xdestroyer] Tribune of Public Morale [Aces__1] Censor of the Midlands [levy_spearman] DIPLOMATIC CORPS OF THE TRIBUNAL Diplomat Sir Radmir Montalt [bingusVEVO] Diplomat Adelheid Klara [CherryBud] Diplomat Vasyl Otto Sarkozic [Laeonathan_] PONTIFICAL LEGATE - [ APPOINTMENT ] Brandt Cardinal Albarosa [MadOne2k] Frantzisko Cardinal Buron [Nescaffier] Rhosyn Cardinal Casica [Andrew_Tech] Another Delegate of Pontifical choosing. PROCLAMATION OF DIPLOMATIC POSITION The following is to be adopted as the official positioning of the Duchy of Adria and its SIEGE TRIBUNAL. ON REPARATION & RECONCILIATION It is the position of the SIEGE TRIBUNAL and his Grace, the Duke of Adria that further conflict for the justification of past wrongs may go on no longer whilst the Midlands bleeds its youth into saturated soil, and that a measure taken in the spirit of concession or reconciliation to cease the bloodletting within Canondom may be a measure well taken. Under their own will, the Duke of Adria, Markus Sarkozic and the SIEGE TRIBUNAL condemn and accept accountability for the following injustices: ✠ To the Kingdom of Haense; for the attack on Valdev during a time of peace, without even presenting terms of complaint. There was no chivalry in such action. ✠ To the Commonwealth of Petra; for the threatening of the Royal House of Petra to leave the Canonist League. A friend was treated as an enemy, and thus they righteously became one. ✠ To the Kingdom of Balian; for housing the Ferrymen during their raids upon Balian, and for the burning of a cultural artifact earned through hardship against the servants of Ruin. ✠ To his Holiness the Pontiff, Sixtus VI, and his Holy Church; for numerous attacks on clergy property, the capture of Cardinals, and failure to reconcile the excommunication. ✠ To the United Kingdom of Aaun, for the implied endorsement of the assassination of His Majesty Edmund I through the conducted raid upon Whitespire thereafter. ✠ To the Exilic Kingdom of Numendil; for the death of Cardinal Toni, and the insults done to Tar-Caraneth and her father-predecessor. ✠ To the Kingdom of Norland; for the threats of unreasonable escalation against the High Keeper when Norland was friend. A friend was treated as an enemy for no grand reason. ✠ To the Grand Kingdom of Urguan; that the dwarves have been forced to march all over Aevos. To rob dwarves of their time in the forge is an injustice against all descendents. The Duchy furthermore acknowledges the letting of blood for the purpose of justifying this unjustifiable conduct as misadventure wrongly based in pride. It also asserts that it is the right of nations who seek peace to defend themselves likewise against fruitless ventures of wrath in the spirit of domination all the same. Just acts of war done during war shall not be apologized for, though reparations offered. Unjust acts of war shall be properly paid for in full. ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW ORDER The Duchy holds, however, as custodian of the Midlands, that it is in the best interest of Canondom for its continued sovereign tenancy in this position, that the postwar order may be a lasting one. The SIEGE TRIBUNAL holds, as reasonable men would, that this order must be in cooperation and oversight with the Church to prevent villainy from taking root once more in Adrian soil. ON THE DIGNITY OF THE MIDLANDS The Duchy affirms, as well, that while concession is possible, these concessions may not infringe upon the dignity of the Midlands or its people and must remain measured in nature. The SIEGE TRIBUNAL furthermore warns those in the grasp of wrathful vigor that extreme acts often find extreme response, and when a great shock or displacement occurs on the high seas, the whirlpool drags all in proximity into the depths. The complete destruction of the Midlands shall only serve the interests of Ruin, that embittered men shall forever seek vengeance when there may be reconciliation among the just and unity against the unjust. It is understood such trust shall take time to develop. PERSONA NON GRATA The Duke of Adria declares the banishment of Vyllaenen of the Ferry for being a known evildoer. The Duke of Adria declares the impending banishment of all who do not provide immediate proof of their started reconciliation with the Holy Church among the excommunicated of Veletz. Saskia, Hendrik, and Johanes have documented their path to redemption. If proven to be false, such a path falls through, or otherwise problems arise they shall be banished. Valentin, Yvine, Hurin and Godric have not declared yet their interests of redemption. They shall be declared banished from the Midlands within two Saint’s Eves if they do not have a writ from a member of the Curia sent to the Duke of Adria attesting to their path of redemption. Gaspard van Aert, although having spoken intent to speak to the High Pontiff, has since entered self-exile. He shall maintain this exile until wrongs made right with both Church and Coalition, and his soul shall remain prayed for by the entirety of the Midlands.
