    it's anti metagame:

"Oh, bob over there? Yeah, he's an azdrazi, how I know? Well, he just turned into one in a combat scene that happened a block away from me but I didn't get attacked because of the CRP lock!"

since when is it metagaming to just observe something happening in front of me? if I'm using my actual eyeballs to observe a fight and its participants, that's not metagaming, that's just other people interacting with you. this rule does nothing but enable infantilization in trying to fulfill a non-existent issue. I'd even argue that being able to observe a fight you can't interact with counter balances the combat timer. you can reap the benefits of CRP lock, but the consequence is that there are witnesses. that's just how the game is played

A thing lumbers through the brush, a darkened blemish on the pale canvas of snow that carries with it the sinew of a hare, pierced through by ivory incisors.

"They spread your name like plague in the ledgers," croaks a milky-eyed corvid that found a home on its crown of horns. "Cowardly, but effective."

"I concur," goes the creature. "But cowardice is a plague no less, a smattering of raw shame they see suitable to feast on. It's why they find comfort in clayfaces, anonymous letters, and steel bunkers, and I do not. They do not deserve to share this mantle with me."

wait but from what i know that server was not related to LOTC aside the characters, which in my opinion should not matter as if it is not your character it is not your business, if it was not pushed as an LOTC server this seems alittle out of proportion

a couple years ago there was a conversation surrounding whether or not independent nation discords were considered "LOTC mediums" and whether players could be held accountable for actions committed in those spaces. they aren't ran as an "official" LOTC mediums by staff, but they're LOTC affiliated in the content, purpose, and people involved. it was later decided they're legitimate LOTC mediums because if they weren't, it suddenly means that person who called you a slur, doxxed you, threatened you, whatever, etc, can't be banned because it didn't happen in an official LOTC medium, and 99% of every atrocity known to this server has happened in DMs or in a player-ran discord

  4. im an electropop + hyperpop, alt rock person and lately I've been getting into classic 80s rock. crystal castles, grimes, glass animals, red hot chili peppers, childish gambino, freddie dredd, delights, lovejoy, n chase atlantic are some of my favorites

It's moreso for events-- so, mayb just the eventlock

I've never personally had good encounters from people interrupting events I've run, because they've almost always been bandits - for people genuinely wanting to roleplay it's never been an issue, and I've let ppl join in many times when they werent outwardly goony

people compete for resource nodes so why can't u just bring a bigger rally

  6. the only purpose of combat lock imo should be to help alleviate the chances of an encounter swelling with a million players to the point where CRP would no longer be convenient or feasible, not so ppl can have "privacy" for their RP or w/e in a world where players are otherwise entirely admissible in rp. in simple terms this rule is just "I have the power to decide whether you can or cannot interact with me" which is awful

also just bring a larger rally to ur node events to scare ppl off. if an ET really wants to they'll literally just emote the dude's heart stopping and warp him to spawn

    1. Infinite arrows doesn't mean much when you're going to get 1 maybe 2 shots off before getting pulled into melee

    2. Same applies to throwing weapons, crossbows, ******* ninja stars, and every other type of ranged weapon.

    3. As is the general rule of 'roll and if its high ur prolly getting hit' has worked out well enough

Let my people (aragorn larpers) go

    1. yes obviously if you are trying to use a RANGED weapon in a MELEE ground encounter you're not gonna be able to get many shots off. go somewhere ranged if you want to get more than a couple arrow hits. for example nevaehlen killed me fair and square once because they used bows the right way and stood on their walls and arrow spammed my inferis to death once. it's annoying but it worked, but for some reason people will stand in like a 10x10 isolated CRP encounter and complain that they can only get a couple of shots off before being attacked

    2. correct, I'm also an advocate for balancing all types of ranged weaponry as well

    3. people do this out of good faith, not by any enforced rule. this is also means that, considering there's no limit on how many arrows u can carry, you can just keep shooting until you roll a 20/20 and there's no real method or risk because you never have to worry about running out. u ever read hunger games bro?? katniss always worries about her arrow count!!! be like katniss!!!

  8. >can carry an infinite quiver of arrows irp or however many u can carry in ur inv
    >no rules that say you need irp archery experience in order to have accuracy (anyone can decide to be legolas whenever it's convenient to)
    >not a lot of rules in general surrounding ranged combat, let alone bows

3 emotes is fine archers are NOT an oppressed class

edit: I voted for the wrong response **** you

I get you want to keep messaging me asking if I'll PK, but good lord folks - give the poor corpsecrafting necromancers a chance before you metagame every head that shows up.

    Spoiler

I don't think it's exactly a stretch to want ppl to be captured alive considering how many ppl (from both sides) have been killed but not PKd, yet continue to engage with the conflict, which is bad sportsmanship imo. when someones killed the onus should fall on them to have the grace to disengage where possible and respect the ongoing storyline. this means there's a very limited window of ways to actually enact consequence on people and the only way to do so is in very specific ways, such as capturing people and deciding what to do with them from there

edit: since then received some context, ignore this tbh
