  1. A Wanderer decided to read over the text when brought to her, a roll of the eyes when finished reading them

"So much I could say, but I can't be bothered to waste my breath, stick your head in the sand as you lot seemingly do. It is no wonder you can't progress."

She thought about how ironic it was, almost two elven years later, and Haelun'or was back where it was when she left it.

  2. 11 hours ago, Gavin_ said:

During my tenure, Haelun'or thrived and prospered. It is my intention to see our civilization thrive and prosper once more.

Laerdya peers over these lines as she read the missive brought to her and came into a bout of laughter

"If one considers a civilization thriving and in prosperity after single handily spilt the 'Aheral race in half, and having the entire world turn against him outside the Uruks, then ti, Haelun'or certainly thrived and prospered under his tenure."

She'd begin to make plans for Celia'nor to be ready for an influx of those seeking refuge from the 'great' minded Braxus Ni'leya as he'll likely drive Haelun'or into the ground once more as he did many years ago should he somehow manage to acquire even a mote of power. Though a shiver runs down his spine for all the larian of Haelun'or, as she recalls the degenerative behavior of those closest to Braxus.

"I'm curious, will he be stupid enough to have Mali'ker children in caves again as slaves."

  3. A founding Celia'norian cackles as she read the missive, after all, she did tell Braxus what he needed to do to save Haelun'or, but like many other fools her words were not heeded.

"Insanity is repeating oneself and expecting a different result, watch him fracture our people for a second time with his dangerously idiotic inability to listen to anyone but loyal dogs that display degenerative behavior." She comments

  4. Arcane Displacement QoL Amendments & Additions

    Additions

Shunters may use Arcane Displacement as a way to reflavor the Soulstone mechanic

    Amendments
Shunting and Coupling no longer have an emote count and are a free-form ritual to be performed by the players in question, a recommendation of 3 emotes for shunting, and 5 for portal creation will be offered in example emotes, but this allows players to design a ritual in their design and increase the Quality of Life of using the spells, given they can not be used in any combative manner there should be little harm of turning these abilities free form.

Disrupting someone’s shunt by destroying their charm requires four emotes before the disrupted charm sends them back

Portals no longer have a minimum size or maximum, just so long as the portal frame is considered acceptable by LT, it can be of any size and aesthetic

    Addition : Menial Displacement

    Spoiler

    [Non-Combat] [Menial Displacement]

A lesser gift bestowed unto Planeswalkers, Menial Displacement allows a shunter to briefly depart the material plane, and emerge elsewhere upon such granted they are familiar with it. Throughout three emotes [with the fourth being reappearing at a bound pillar], a Planeswalker may draw forth several occult symbols in the air, that carry a lingering, otherworldly glow before they are briefly transported ‘cross planes to land them in the safety of Aos and Eos in a location of their choosing.

[Draw runes] -> [Speak incantation] -> Disappear -> Reappear at Soulstone.

    REDLINES:

    - Menial Displacement may never, under any circumstance be used to evade combat or a stressful scenario. This is a re-flavored soul stone mechanic and adheres to all soul-stoning rules.

    - Concentration is required throughout the process. If an attack is made or someone so much as yells in the ear of the planeswalker, they must restart the process from the beginning.

    - This is to say that Menial Displacement cannot be used in combat scenarios.

    - There is a degree of creative freedom regarding menial displacement. For example, instead of disappearing in extra-planar light, one may instead decide to walk through a starry portal. As long as the aesthetic holds some sort of otherworldly and occult aesthetic and doesn’t directly mimic similar abilities, it is permitted.

    - Per regular Arcane Displacement guidelines, provided both players share the same soul stone pillar, a shunter may bring up to one additional character with them

    Amendment : Shunting Emote Count

    Old

    Spoiler

The process lays still among the most treacherous of its kind, it being a provenience for greater energy; an immaterial source of ethereal power to which the worst of spirits, wraiths and gravens hearken and flock. As thus, it had become proud tradition amongst generations of planeswalkers, the which they would pass unto their younger heritors, to exercise a row of precautions. Having recited the proper chants as learnt within the Planar Dictate, enacting its patterns with expertise, the Planeswalker enwreathes himself in an occultic circle of salt and unspoken symbolics; wherein he may then contain himself of all approaching evil and malice throughout the prolonged spell.

    • Shunting requires six emotes to perform and to be touched, so much as a poke, interrupts the enigmatic magic wherein it is nullified and must be attempted again.

      • Shunting requires complete and total concentration and thus cannot be performed in combat or to evade combat.

    • Solo shunting must be performed through RP posts on the forums of the character traversing the plane they have landed in.

    • LT must be consulted on the general ideas behind the planes being traveled to but otherwise the player has complete creative freedom in its design so long as it offers their character no inherent power, change, or advantage that does not require an application or lore besides an MART.

    • Returning from a shunt with an object of any value more than mundane, useless, and inert must be approved through an MART.

    • The speech and engraved symbolics enacted in one’s circle of ritual are left nigh-entirely to the creativity of the participants, likely consisting of flexion speech and indicative occult imagery (The abuse or memery thereof however is subject to severe punishment).

    • A shunter may bring a single individual, even non-shunters, on their voyage.

Amendment : Portal Changes [Emote Count and Frame Size]

    Old:

    Spoiler

An uncommon practice, although one not at all unheard of is that of coupling; in which a covenant of three shunters, led by their most knowledgeable, may bring forth a gate within thin air – of which the frames measure at least four by five meters (blocks), never exceeding seven in either dimensions. The rite, however, enforced by the powerful unison of several shunters, must be done in perfected proportions, with a most precise execution; such that if a word had been misspoken, or a hexagram unwritten, the process would be entirely set aback and undone. The gate may then serve a shared - albeit arbitrary - destination for the drove, and another shall form wheresoever they landed. Be it known, yet, that the excursion may be abruptly ended were the gate to be botched by even the lightest of matter; debris be it or a grain of dust.

    • Requires one to have shunted to and from the realm intended and the material plane to map a portal to another realm for a portal alongside two additional shunters to create it.

    • A portal may only be used to transport five individuals, even non-shunters, before deactivating. The frames remain intact.

Amendment : Retraction defined emote count
    Old:

    Spoiler

In the wake of a shunter’s traversion, a line of grit and scatter (which in actuality is there only in concept) serves to anchor one’s presence upon earth, marking them an inseverable path back at the journey’s end. Unseen to the naked eye, only another shunter may pursue this proverbial trail by reenacting the shunting trial in its close proximity; whereupon they arrive to the same initial destination as the first shunter, whilst a mark of their own originates besides the first. An art known only to the eldest of shunters is that of retraction, in which the immaterial line is desecrated and its owner returned forcibly to their spot of shunting - regardless of consent. The power wrought by such initiative tends often to incapacitate the traveller.

”You speak boldly, for one in crucifying distance.”

-Wieslaw Marrow, threatening an ill-marked planeswalker

    • Only two charms may touch another charm which is being tracked, creating a triangle of circles, likely two shunters chasing another. Any attempts to add to the charms results in failed castings.

    • Forcefully returning another shunter to the material plane has a count of four detailed emotes.

    Reasoning:

Shunting, while a longstanding piece in the LOTC lore, is very abstract and seldom used. It can be a lot for a new FA holder to digest and sees very little use currently in roleplay. With the addition of a new reflavor ability for SS mechanics, some quality of life changes to emote count, and clarifications upon existing rites, we hope to bring a breath of fresh air into Arcane Displacement so that players can not only use it more in day-to-day roleplay but also without so much confusion. Following this being accepted there will be work to push forth a proper Guide for shunting.

  5. [!]

With a task given to her complete, Salt and Chalk were taken to the ground, curiosity got the better of her, that need to see more, that which lies out in the bounds of creation..

    ((Music))

    Fabul | The Narrator’s Story | Literature

There was darkness before Laerdya as she was suspended in limbo.

A voice spoke, and each time a voice rang out through Laerdya’s ear, the voice was different though it always remained in monotone.

“Laerdya has arrived in a strange place, suspended in a place between the realms.”

Laerdya was confused at first, part of her wonder if some of her kindred were attempting to trick her for some reason, or perhaps..

“Laerdya was struck with bewilderment upon what she was hearing, though soon enough.. She’d find herself in another place.”

And as the voice spoke, that was what occurred..

“Laerdya’s form was thrown through this limbo, until she found her feet upon the ground, a rushing of colors filled her vision. Before bitter chill set in her form, she was now atop a mountain.”

    “She decides to push forth..”

She held her arms closed to tightly cling her robe to her form for warmth…

The snow buckled under her weight

    Crunch, Crunch, Crunch

    “Crunch, Crunch, Crunch.”

“The snow is crumbling under her feet as she pushes forward.”

It was grating, humiliating, as she battled the harsh weather, the exhaustion that left a burning sensation in legs and lungs.

“She felt humiliated in this situation, as she carried on with her trek despite the conditions she found herself in.”

    “SHUT UP!”

Both Laerdya and the Narrator voices’ rung out in unison. Her voice filled with rage, but the Narrator remained in the monologue.

She fell silent.. Her feet carry her form in the bitter winds that blow.”

“She spent hours walking through this treacherous climb, before finding a cave that provided her some shelter from the chilling winds that weave around the mountain, a pool was tucked in the corner.”

“Her reflection stared back, she could see how exhausted she was, with those dark bags under her eyes. She worried her thoughts would be repeated back to her, before she let out a sigh.

    “How wonderfully mad. She thought.”

“The reflection would change, shimmering over it, causing Laerdya to shuffle back in fear, unsure what was to come, though it was not what she expected.”

“With the Pool’s surface changed, old memories visible in that reflection, twisted, a blessing she’d granted to another re-shown, with her as recipient of the brutality that she’d unleashed.”

“She simply stared, trying to suppress her thoughts, in a vain attempt. Her thoughts clouded by the voices she heard, wondering who or what they were, did they judge her, was this a task? She’d ask herself.”

“However, The Cave began to extend, and thus she’d step through to go deeper into this place..”

“The tunnel changes as she walks through, to different places, warm sands below her feet now, then rolling greens of foothills..”

After spending countless hours within this strange Realm, everything she did, repeated, her thoughts, repeated, every sensation, repeated. Each time a different voice speaks, monotone.

Laerdya was brought back to a broken fragment of her Library, a copy, where her Charm lay, as she sat down to send herself back, those voices speaking one final time..

“And so Laerdya returned to a place more familiar to her, as she’d dwell upon all that had happened to her.”

    [!]

And she was back in the confines of the Material Plane..

She couldn’t help but think how maddening the situation was, everything repeated back to her as if a book was being read. It felt like an invasion of privacy, though those words were ill fitted to describe what she truly felt. It reinforced her belief that all things are predetermined but it left her with a lingering question..

    Is the Voices still talking?

  6. A woman looked over the missive after reading the last one related, an amused huff at the scampering of Kaethul to appear innocent, she knew much of the on goings of Kaethul prior, waiting and watching, all she'd remark

"You can rally for the divine themselves to set foot in an attempt to save Yera's name, to try and sway the opinions of those of the larger world, but no matter what you claim, how willing and cloying they sound.."

"A LIE WILL REMAIN A LIE."

  7. [!]

A simple missive that reads the following

    Hearken to me, Descendants.

    Four must unite.

One of the lineage of Horen.

One of the lineage of Malin.

One of the lineage of Urguan.

One of the lineage of Krug.

Four untouched, by Tenebrous, by Void, by Aengul, by Daemon. Pure as the Creator fashioned them.

Four with hearts unblemished, Four driven by selflessness. Mortal, of Flesh and Blood.

I am divinely appointed, sworn to serve as guide. Gifted to ensure our task is complete and you are who I seek. I shall traverse the realms, in search of you, or perhaps you will find me.

Together, our purpose will become evident.

If you deem yourself worthy, you may endeavour to commune with me, kindle a solitary white candle, clasp together your hands in supplication and speak the words.

“Audi verba mea, et attende illis”

Once these words have passed your lips, declare your name and where you reside, and I shall come to you.

Once met, I will peer into the depths of your soul, to discern if you are pure and worthy of this sacred cause.

    Spoiler

If you are interested in taking part in my silly quest, fill out the Reading Page for me and you can send it to me once I’ve performed a reading upon your persona. If you attempt the ‘communion ritual’ just send me a forum DM of you performing the ritual and I’ll reply with some more details.

  8. There would be a pang of guilt in the stomach of a Wanderer, who wanted to help the Primarch, but every visit she couldn't not find her, nor would fate permit her the time, she'd remark from her own experience of loss, with widen eyes staring at a wall

"It is oddly liberating to lose it all. To become utterly unshackled."

  9. A Wanderer stirs, as she remarks

    "Blessed are we."

She runs a hand over the Lorraine Cross that Mattia gifted to them, for a moment, before she falls back into slumber.

Epiphytes already have a mechanic in their own lore in which their eyes remain damaged/unusable if they are a seer, regardless of rebirths or regeneration (and do not need to be included.)

I think they should still be included on the Seer page, there is no reason not to, as it makes it easier for players to double check if they are compatible, rather than having to go back to Epiphyte page.

    16 minutes ago, DragonofTaters said:

May want to add soul trees into the compatible sections of these. The bodies can be regenerated without eyes if the person wishes. Weird thing to do, but technically possible for them if they wanted to be a Seer/slotted Seer.

Edit: Nevermind apparently I'm more tired after work than I thought and this was already addressed.

All good gamer, pays to make sure everything is all in order.

  11. "Surely them being given the moniker The Scholar is a grand jest, given they were unable to read through the Celia'norian records and deduce that a 'Jylie' is not an official Representative of the Celia'nor Government." A Wanderer remarks  "More idiots blabbing on and complaining because they're incapable of any meaningful action, I hope they're swallowed by the Chaos that is unleashed upon the word." She then puts on some googles over her eyes, as she goes back to Alchemy in a private location

  12. A Wanderer already struggling to sleep awakens in terror from this vision once it pasts, her breathing quickens as tears stream down her features in cut off sobs, a book finds itself in hand, as she tortures her waking with the drawings she once made, something she found eerily familiar...
