  1. I think unironically the post Kiwi made was dumb on her part, but unfortunately I know a lot of people have had a bad experience with the Hnor community, this is not say everyone is evil in the community. I think a lot of people read too much into her OOC comment that was likely just poorly worded, ultimately just believe she wanted to say Hnor was going to be under new leadership that wouldn't continue a cycle of some of the OOC shit that has happened in the past, anyone who denies that Hnor has a checkered past is just straight up lying. But everyone latches to the OOC part as if there would had been literal 0 IRP reasoning for her character to do this, I know Hnor IRPly in the past had betrayed her IRP friends, I believe in the past it betrayed her, and it actively IRPly during this entire conflict opted to ignore Ivarielle's movement for months when people in leadership in Hnor just said they weren't gonna log on so they couldn't be killed, straight up if my country's leadership wasn't gonna fight to save itself I'm dipping. Literal months of RP completely ruined because of one individual for a single OOC comment, yet Ivarielle's ENTIRE movement has to suffer as a result, yet you've had those loyal to old Hnor that have combat logged, that have meta gamed, that have frankly failed RP, that have been toxic OOCly to individuals who weren't sided with them and made shitty remarks about them, suffer no punishment whatsoever for any rules they've broken. Knowing the behind the scenes of the server not really surprised, all one can do is mald, seethe and shit post until it is outta their system and move on.
  2. I will say given what I know with my own personal interactions with current and ex admins, with stories I have been told by others, new and old, the decisions I have seen, constantly watching the same mistakes being repeated for the past three years I have been actively apart of LotC, where I've seen and heard of some of the worst abuse happen. I don't think we should let it slide when they objectively let the server down today by going against the mission statement they recently put out, when they let the down the server when players are seemingly actively ignored when they report shit, when they let the server down when the mod admin acted like a child and a clown in the new Hnor Discord and proceeded to ban a user they taunted for something they didn't even end up doing and being petty about it. I frankly don't particularly care for them to be admins for this server, if this server is going to improve and reach the potential it has, it needs better and capable leaders, ones who are willing to combat the toxic environment that just leads to inaction and players becoming unsatisfied and in turn toxic. Really don't know what to suggest for admins or players to fix it at this point, time and time again, this type of conversation is going to be repeated by new and old, and nothing will be done about it unfortunately. LotC sits in a comfortable position because there is some good in the community to be found and has security in being a ten year old server, and since it sits in a comfortable position it doesn't need to change, just ignore the players when they **** up until it blows over and carry on, just for good measure say how you will be looking at the criticisms that have been likely repeated for almost a decade and offer no actionable plans on what you will do to change. God I can't wait till Lego Star Wars comes out.
  3. What mainly annoys me about this is I know the defense in these kind of cases, not strictly towards admins but staff in general, will often be something along the lines of we are simply just volunteers and try our best to do better, yet the SAME mistakes and massive ones in terms of player safety repeated, year after year. I don't understand how that is meant to be a defense, because I don't understand what being a volunteer has to do with lacking any professionalism in how the staff/admins handle their conduct, decisions, abuse, and **** ups. We have to keep in mind that we have about 250+ players that log in everyday, and ultimately staff with their decisions determine if they have a safe and enjoyable time on the server, and from my interactions with the admins, I just feel like this is nothing more than a ******* game to them, just to stuff up as some CV fodder, sounds impressive to have an active community of 250 people, not so much if you were to look into and see how utterly dysfunctional everything is. All one can do is hope the server gets better but no one is gonna be holding their breath with how things have been going. Least Lego Star Wars is out in a couple days.
  4. I think that is ignoring the fact players have a lot of pent up frustration with how current and past admins for the past three years (and longer) have straight up let every single community down with their decisions. I tried RPing with the old Hnorian's and they actively ignored me or did nothing in regards to the complaints I levied IRPly, and the only time they did was to 'dunk' on me. Even people who don't care about the Elf Sphere of LotC just see this as a massive loss, this was a movement going on for IRL months and we were frankly just ignored up until Hnor got backed into a corner and they miraculously manage to survive when they did actively nothing to prepare for coming conflict and outright said in Discord they were not even going to log in, so they could avoid dying. Players get sick and tired of anyone getting OOC protection when they frankly fucked up. The 'vitriol' is just merely a symptom of a problem that stems from the community environment and how staff have decided to deal with most situations. Though we did actually contribute to RP, we had 30 or so players on yesterday when old Hnor only mustered 11 and attempted to disrupt what we were doing in the tavern but we just pushed past until they basically retreated and instantly logged out when they knew admins wouldn't be paying attention, I should also mention this whole RP movement has been going on for months IRL so it wasn't like it came out of no where. Most people are gonna want to mald because frankly with all that transpired IRPly we should have won, Hnor had no standing force, had failed to secure allies and had failed to sway any from Ivarielle's side to support them. Feels pointless to RP on a server where there seems to be no consequences to sides that should have lost.
  5. Feeling like unironically we as players should try perform making an experiment where we elect a tile to be exempt from staff rules and make our own rules and edit and adjust them accordingly to what we think provides more enjoyable RP.

A “Badlands” area has existed on other maps. It’s always a bit of a mess but people have a lot of fun in them.

  6. "I bet Republican scum will decry this action on Ivarielle's people, despite the fact that Braxus personally killed a half breed once, but they care for fact nor truth, hm.. They love to bend it so much I wonder.. Either way, hopefully they don't choke on sand since they love to bury their heads in such." A blind woman grumbled, hearing a degenerate Republican speak about this news in passing, some nonsense conspiracy they love to spread.
  7. "They took so long to muster two leaders who ultimately mean nothing.. Who offer nothing." she quietly comments "And if by some miracle they even get hold of the city after losing it, they opted to ignore the fact that all the Nations, the entire realm, stands await with poised swords to completely end this state of degenerates and criminals. They wish for us 'Thill to respect them, when they can't even respect themselves and the traditions they claim to follow, ten years has Haelun'or stood, and the response they offered will go down in history as the most pitiful attempt of frankly anything. No longer will I allow my people to suffer these fools, so they can either follow Ivarielle and experience new growth, or they can continue down their stagnant path and perish away to dust." "Ay'Ivarielle, Ay'Larihei."
  8. Just gonna put a TW here for any who, might stumble across this, body horror and just icky things to behold. Music Enveloped by forces beyond, elsewhere, was this woman now adrift. Before her mind could process a single image, it was the reeking scent that entered her senses, repulsive but sharp, causing a stinging sensation within her nostrils, as they flared for a moment, so swiftly, a hand was directed to pinch her nose, in hopes that might prevent that ever so indescribable miasma from inducing gags and spew. In an additional attempt to block out the smell, she pulled up fabric that was fashioned as a scarf, and pinched her nose once more. Mere moments afterwards, she witnessed what was before her. A land, twisted, a merger of legs, seeming all the parts below where a knee would be located. Unwashed for countless eras, it appeared to her. These legs were blemished, bruised, bloodied; covered upon them, were blackheads, pustules, and cysts. Some of the legs were hairless, and others thick and matted. Fungi the size of trees thrived in this land of filth, plotted across this ‘land’. Though, these legs were also not restricted to those that might appear, descendant design, but that of animals, insects. The horizon twisted and moved, akin to watching countless rabbits stare upon a mountain, and gave the illusion as if the mountain was shifting in place. Despite her disgust, despite the fear that was racing through her very core, she knew she must do as she had done after the moment she was given the blessing. Submit. Submit to the experience of this place, no matter how disgusted or how much she wished to return home as soon as she could, first must she explore what she possibly could of this place, for she felt within her core, all she had to do, was merely step forth, for submission was death, and death was rebirth into something greater. And so, with resolve in mind, she began to trek through whatever she could handle to endure in this place, the unseen eye above spying for her unknown God. The trek was dangerous to be walking upon, the legs moving, and was almost akin to walking against Laerdya’s own steps. Standing upon the sole of a foot, she opts to make her way to shin, that seemingly sailed across the amalgamation below, mindful of the uncertainty of this place, lest she trip and fall to perhaps a fate worse than a usual death. Walking along a leg with hair, she with gloved hands, curled her fingers across the greasy hairs to stabilize her movements. Fearful of what was to happen, should her meek form fall and be crushed by the weight of these rancid legs. She watched as the constantly moving legs cut down one of those fungus, a spore that fell between the hoof of a pigs feet, that constantly moved upwards and downwards. Taking a minor detour, she managed to claim this spore, proof of this endeavor she had trekked. For hours she was trekking, before reaching her assigned destination. With her journey concluded, arriving at the giant shin that sailed, she took out the Oculus, making an attempt to contact one of her mentors, and only a few words spoken as she simply just said.. “I have traveled into the Beyond.. Or past it, I remain unsure. I can barely describe this place..” she quietly spoke, slight fear hinted in her voice Uncaring for a response, she opted to put the Oculus back in satchel, as she peered across the lands, before.. Enveloped by forces beyond, back where she resided, was this woman present.

Your talking point about the Maheral is something that should be debated more IRPly, though I get that you don't want to hand your 'culture' off to someone you don't know, however, I think remaining unchanging and trying to keep Haelun'or 'protected' from changes to the status quo has led to this entire conflict. My main reason for bringing up the whole Maheral thing was because I just find it annoying we get called anti-RP when I feel like such an important cultural position being voted on is being done behind close doors is frankly anti-RP and limits the possible RP, what if I want to manipulate or bribe someone into voting for a certain individual? What if I just wanted to inform the Malauriran on information I've discovered on a certain character to ensure that the 'correct' Maheral got voted in rather than an 'impure' one? It being done entirely through Discord defeats the point of being on a RP server, and causes people getting frustrated with a government system than seems to be reliant more on OOC friendships rather than anything done IRPly and has had a serve affect upon Haelun'or's ability to retain players as a result of this, as a newer player, it feels unfair and pointless to RP in any place where they will get zero progress because they're not friends with older players, only due to circumstance of them being newer to the community at large.

Speaking of OOC comments, I really was delighted to see an ex-sohaer call me mentally ill to someone in DMs over LotC, along with remarks to two others, really don't understand why, considering when it was brought up I didn't say anything bad. I will admit that I have complained somewhat about Haelun'or OOCly, but it isn't because I wanted to see the Nation destroyed, my complaints are mainly in hopes that they might be listened to and the Nation can change for the better, and I am not the only one who has felt the same. Keep in mind I returned to Haelun'or sometime in October I think, with the active OOC intentions to help build it up, but realized I was going to get little head way when Iverach basically told me his plan was to abandon the new players in favor of trying to get old players to return, hence why I joined Ivarielle's movement when it popped up. Even still with no obligation to do this, I asked Cookiie if they wanted me to get them a clean copy of the Hnor Island, even though I'd been with Ivarielle since day one and haven't made that fact hidden both IRP and OOCly. For your final point, I've unfortunately spent 2 days since last week for this conflict so I have been actively engaging it. Ultimately, Haelun'or had four-five months to prepare for this entire conflict, frankly mistakes were made on part of the 'old group' that remained, and as a result there has to be consequences if you opt to ignore a threat that made itself publicly known for months.

While I can’t speak to the OOC dealings that you have experienced (You won’t catch me bad mouthing you in DMs) what I can say is most of the time, like 8/10 times, the Vet chat 100% has no part in Maheral selection. We just go “Okay this is the person the last Maheral chose as a successor.” Which leaves the door wide open for newer players.

One person decided that Elesia Elervathar’s constitution was un-Maheral-like. Realistically the way Elesia was pushed out was the problem here since it should have been a vote of no confidence from everyone. But it happened & a new Maheral doesn’t pop out of nowhere so the chat got the ball rolling again because largely that is what we are there to do. Keep the baton passing. Our names are on that document not as a vote, more like a stamp of approval that the new Maheral can reference when trying to leverage their station.

Does this one part of the culture happen off the server sometimes? Yes but it almost always is led by the active members of the Malaurian. I personally don’t have a device for LoTC atm so it is the camaraderie that brings out the want to include all the oldies.

Again it doesn’t take all of us voting for a new Maheral to be chosen. The rest of us were just invited out of respect & stayed tuned in when we realized how messy things were OOCly. It’s not that we try to dismiss change. We just have had to deal with OOC spite-fueled rampages time-after-time. The way we have been dealing with it is by trying to boost active player morale, engaging them in proper debates, elections, etc… because that is how the nation is ran. Not by the whims on 1-5 players.

There is a story to be told here. It can’t be told in PvP & it can’t be ignored until it is gone. Otherwise your side is just a fad & won’t last. There has to be compromise.

Both sides opted to ignore each other around the end of conflict after PvP was turned off, I would say the quality of Roleplay unironically degraded imo when PvP/conflict was turned off. As it essentially became passive aggressive petty remarks to each other, as there was going to be zero consequence to bad mouthing one another since PvP and villainy RP was disallowed, and with no real way of 'proving' who controlled the city. From our point of view, we had both infiltrated the government and have easily battered Hnor in conflict, taking a city these ways should be legitimate avenues, same as getting voted into power, they have different and interesting ways they can branch. I think for the whole PvP that was on for 3-4 days, rest of the conflict it was turned off. We do have people they have RPed and are willing to RP but as I mentioned above, not many people are willing to engage when it has degraded into pettiness. Something I will say, at least from my perspective on an OOC level, the goal isn't to obliterate Hnor, and we have tried offered a fair compromise to the mod admin so that way old Hnorian folk who don't enjoy what is provided either OOCly or IRPly are left high and dry. Ultimately as well, it can lead to interesting conflicts down the line and development of persona's, if I was on Hnor's side I would be down for some refugee type RP and attempt to rebuild what was left with the remnants of old Hnor as it has an amazing story there that can be told.

Though frankly, the only point I don't agree with is the 'fad' part, I honestly don't believe we are, we had almost 30 players on today RPing in the tavern, and as I mentioned, I know from talking with people more are bound to follow suit if we were to gain control of the city. But the other part about it being a 'fad' I don't like is I think unironically forcing players to build long lasting stable groups vastly limits the potential of newer groups forming, which in turn limits people's enjoyment on the server, much rather spent three-four months doing something I enjoy than grinding a year for something I don't really enjoy because it is the closest thing I can get to what I wanna do, granted in this case, since this is a fight over a Nation I can understand that it is different, but ultimately if our group is a fad, you can easily just regain control of the city, and you have a fun new bit of history to teach IRP, warning future generations of 'Aheral the dangers of trying to take Hnor by force and how it leads to the death of the Nation.

  10. "It took them years to muster a proper response to Ivarielle, and all they push forward is the same man that brought them into this mess? The very foundation of Haelun'or is corrupt, to support degenerates that openly display themselves in the streets, and to work with forces of dark, I hope that nothing else foul is afoot." she comments upon hearing the news.
  11. "Interesting, it seems elections weren't held at all but for some few individuals, unfortunate I doubt we will recognize Braxus as the Maheral." she comments, the blind woman prepares to get to work to undermine this group that seemingly cropped out of the wood works and likely will vanish if Ivarielle ever left to let Braxus drive the Nation into the Ocean.
  12. "Indeed, and they delude themselves, the man himself after arriving in Haelun'or declared himself Sohaer, and even said so to the visiting Kha!" she comments to Ivarielle
  13. The Silver Scandal is the truth! Any who say otherwise, are simply liars and insurgents!

  14. "A trustworthy source to be sure." she remarks after having this read to her, going to show Ivarielle.
  15. Laerdya remarks in private after having the read the missive "Frankly, I think killing them is a mercy at this point, considering the degeneracy they are willing to support in order to claim whatever power they can. Who would support a group that backs another that openly declares how proud they are to be without pants, and telling citizens in the streets to not wear any. They are willing to go against Larihei's vision when it suits them, but when one mistake happens by those they don't like, they cry to the world, the world they hate, the world they have openly taunted, about how unfair it is. Ironic to call us hypocrites, when you are below 'ata, you are a reverted reprobate.." The woman carried on with her insults for many hours, having the creativity for such, and the knowledge to appreciate the words, unlike those evil and pants-less republicans.
  16. Laerdya prepares to destroy this with facts and logic. "My work will be unending." she simply remarks.
  17. "This seems to be clearly false." A woman remarked after having the missive read to her, not paying single attention to any of the points that this 'ata wished to explain. "This sounds like one of those Elves who are happy to declare they are pantless, and wished to expose themselves for all to see, utter impurity."
  18. "I agree, these rebels, these 'ata, those against Larihei must be driven out!" she remarks after the missive was read to her
  19. Laerdya gave a dip of her head at the missive after Guide had read it to her "As I've said time and time again, these so called republicans are only liars, who consort with the dark for their own gain, who run at the face of danger, they will pin upon us their own failings, we must resist this at every turn, do not allow them to place blame upon their own impurities on us. Haelun'or will rise up once more under the Silver Phoenix."
  20. Tbh idk if the changes are good or bad, but all I can say is that I feel the implementation has been poor, I feel giving at least a weeks grace would have helped people freak out less and any concerns or suggestions could have be addressed during the grace period.

Removed the image, no idea why it got included again when I keep tryna making status updates.
  21. "Guide." she simply said, as the micro-atroanch became alert hearing it's name spoken, quietly speaking so only Laerdya could hear, she then commanded "Give this fellow the second last missive you read to me." And so the micro-atroanch grabbed ahold of the missive that remained in her satchel, before plopping it in front of this prideful Elf, Laerdya then simply commented to the Elf "I do believe this is one of the insurgent's writings, given the contents that I had read to me. Not once have we called for slaughter, we only seek to defend our home from those who would cause chaos, and then blame those they caused chaos against, it is unfortunate that you, who claim to have 'aheral blood, who says they would follow the facts, logic, and truth, truth no matter how bitter it may taste, opt to constantly ignore it. That is the view of 'ata, to ignore truth, to stand with dark beings, to gain power for power's sake. Ivarielle has the people with her, we merely wish to exist in our home without disturbance and to suffer mockery, as it is impure to perform, and none of 'Aheral blood should have to deal with in Haelun'or. Hopefully in time, you will come to see the truth, and it will set you free. I will not humor most of what you said, because frankly, it is deranged conspiracy. It would be interesting to see what those who oppose Ivarielle do in their private meetings, but given your calls for violence, and these bizarre comments, I fear it would only lead one to become 'ata. " "Ay'Ivarielle, Ay'Larihei. Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya." (( Link to the 'second last' missive ))
  22. "This is the democracy the want, who are to define the pure, they want to control the vote, and we will not let them." she remarked, after Guide read these words to her "Remember what I've said constantly my lliran, these are the words coming from those opposing Ivarielle who spoke of killing us if they had the chance. All one can hope is those who currently oppose her see reason, lest they be betrayed and murdered behind close doors, for none to know."
