  4. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

Yes, I'm going to continue with the rewrite and as for a chat or a discussion, that still hasn't been made. You could add me in Discord if you wish to discuss the re-write, though. As for the restrictions, they might've been a nice and interesting addition in the start but players lost interest over time because of them. As stated in the post, them no longer being Fae isn't something that's written in stone, but more of a counter-change to allow them the ability of learning magic. You could say it changes the whole point of Cervitaurs, but then again that could be what's needed to win back the players interests. Adding genders in my point of view also does more benefit than not. It adds family and love RP while still allowing unwilling individuals to make their characters infertile and not really belonging to either gender. Anatomy's another subject I really wanted to change due to the misinterperations many have regarding to Cervitaurs. Every Cervitaur and player I've ever met as one, -and I've played mine for a relatively long time-, thought they were beings made of blood and bones. It leads to many misconceptions and alters many roleplay sessions that have went on. I really don't see a reason to why they should be made of plants, even if they are Fae. There are already Bryophites which fill that position nicely. The creation and birthing was redone in coordination with adding genders to the lore, and not making them Fae anymore, unless as I previously stated Cervitaurs were able to learn Druidism while remaining Fae. As a sidenote, thank you for the rather warm response, as opposed to the bashing I've received up there =)
  5. [CA][Hou-Zi] Ul'dramen

MC Name: Roronoa_Zoro (Main is Boruto) Character's Name: Ul'dramen Character's Age: 30 Character's Original Race (N/A if not applicable): N/A Transformed form: Hou-Zi (Hei-Zhu) Creator's MC Name: N/A Creator's RP Name: Metzli Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature: In times gone by, Hou-Zi were nothing but apes inhabiting the jungles... that is until the daemon Metzli, formerly the Awakener and lately the Doombringer came by and decided to try her luck in constructing her own superior form of life. As the Alpha Ape, Hou-shen was elected as her first subject, and did as he was commanded by unfurling the knowledge unbeknownst to other apes, emerging them into the realm of intelligent life forms. They continued their style of life in the jungle for a period of time, until they decided their lives were too monotonous for the rational, enlightened creatures they rose to be. The wilthiest among them lived grandeur, elegant lives, bathing in all sorts of riches and luxury one could think of and the poor sought said lavishness- though they made for what they lacked through means of emotional harmonic music rather than loud and upbeat ones, and the practice of martial arts with gungfo being the most prominant. That was until eventually; Metzli came up with a new order- which is to wage war upon the descendants and most specifically the elvenkind, children of Malin. Upon the first war, Hou-shen lead them to a mighty victory in which they gained control over Asul and various regions in Southern Ceru and South-Western Tahn. However, they were too late in realising that the self-esteem which loomed over their minds truly, had ensued a second war which ushered in their downfall and would've brought forth their possible demise, with the death of the person they priorly considered immortal, Hou-shen. His children guided their people somewhere afar, where they believed would be safer, and it did not take them long to become aware that an imminent final end to their glory was on the horizon. In addition to their kind being nearly purged by the elves, the smite of an ancient god who went by the name Poison befell them, shattering them and driving those who were left into an age of secrecy, isolation, and distance from elves, thus harm's way. Hou-Zi come in three different forms: the hefty, brawny Hei-Zhu, often alikened to Gorillas, then the colorful, smaller yet more swift & agile Fei-Zhu, resembling baboons. Lastly, the middle-ground of the two being Laobai-Zhu. Life expectancy goes as they have been ordered, with Hei-Zhu living the longest and Laobai-Zhu the shortest. Although Metzli was in a way their creator, they rarely paid her worship apart from the occasional homage from their war spoils. Hou-shen on the other hand had the spotlight, as he was glorified as their immortal god, one who has outlived generations upon generations of Hou-shen. Following his departure of life however, He was degraded to a mythical being- a creature of legends, no less. He was still worshipped through prayers, only never as reverred as he was once. Metzli, on the other hand, wasn't merely degraded. She was loathed by the modern civilizations- hence her current title being their Doombringer. Added their culture / herds
  7. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

Four, as far as I know.
  8. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

This write is multifaceted. It is to drum up interest, sure, but it's also to make them more enjoyable, to open up more roleplay opportunities, and to clarify quite a few points that weren't addressed in the original lore. Besides, I'm inviting friends to the race- as you see, a few applications rose up the past two days.
  9. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

There are alot of things that have been revised with this lore. First of all, Cervitaurs cannot be ridden. That doesn't make any sense. They have backs. They can be ridden, but they wouldn't want to be. Say a person is injured and must be taken to a clinic immediately, and the clinic is far away. The Cervitaur wouldn't be able to take him there because it dictates Cervitaurs cannot be ridden. Then you have the body's biology. Cervitaurs are part beat part man, they have the bodies of both. How would their organs work? That was never clarified. Whether there was a heart in both their human ribcage and the stag's, too or if they were conjoined. Whether their bodies behave similiar to bryophites since they have plant-like flesh or if their plant bodies have their own rules. How is their regenerative ability if they're plants in that case? They bleed sap? So revisions have been made, but additions have also been made. Solely changing the fact that they are agender and asexual isn't enough reason for interest to rise back up. It must happen in collaboration with other additions.
  10. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

Giving them berserk mode in an ammendment isn't enough to bring back interest. Not unless piled with other additions.
  11. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

This entire rewrite isn't centred around these aspects alone. Only the Creation part is the part that's been changed for the magic and having children. You're making it sound like this entire rewrite comprises of only the Origin / Creation part.
  12. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

I was told by an LT member Fae creatures have lesser souls and that is why they cannot learn magic.
  13. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

I'm sorry you feel that way, and I'm not going to go in depth about this, but lets be real here... No one plays a Cervitaur apart from me. What do you think caused this shortage? I'll let you guess. You wish to conserve the original lore? Sure, if it makes you feel better knowing no changes will occure while the playerbase is at zero. To be honest, at this point, Cervitaurs are better off being a Non-player creature with the current population- But i'm not going to delve deeper into this and I appreciate your responses either way.
  14. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

If you're been roleplaying your Cervitaur as a feminine agender one, just roleplay her as a female?... I don't see what the problem is. And is your entire RP going to be focused around their creation?
  15. [Rewritten] Cervitaurs - Cernunnos' beasts

So am I, it was badly timed. =)
