First born to Hamman Thawhapeos, a cavalryman in a mercenary company in the far-off lands of the Rassid, he was raised a warrior as the sole son of the family. His early life was dominated by training in the ways of battle, practising the way of the sword. In his youth, he would join his father’s band, working as a squire doing menial labour. On one of many journeys with the company, a stop was made in a village of the name ‘Alagopolis’ on the banks of an oasis. In this town, he heard a preaching of the word of God. Religion had been present in his life, but never playing a large part. The word of God had inspired him, and the teachings stuck with him when the company was leaving the town. An encountre with a band of nomads had left him lost in the desert, walking for days without food or drink. Death was certain as he lied in the sand, lost in the desert. It was a monk that found him, healing him and teaching the way of God. The word of God had inspired him to take a pilgrimage to the far lands of the human, searching for the truth about God. https://imgur.com/a/4M3cFEG Skin link since it was being buggy
  3. Klagenfurt is coming back! This time, it is better than ever.
  4. Kingdom of Portugal After a year of study and debate, it is clear that the Oportonites are in the right, and it is declared that their doctrine is to be adopted for the Marinha. British-style logistics are to be adopted, and ship classifications and specifications are to mimic the British methods. [Mod] The Marinharia Moderna is requested to include a chapter explaining the details of the split in the Marinha, and the modernisation of naval doctrine and logistics. [Mod] An additional 5 000 infantry men are to be hired for the army, and materiel to outfit them are to be purchased along with one dozen field guns. In addition to the infantry, a regiment of engineers is to be formed of the talent of the universities and military. [Mod] Two more expeditions and settler columns are rallied, headed for the uninhabited Mascarenes and Seychelles. As the islands are farther than Cabo Verde, extra supplies and materiel are to be provided for both travel and settlement. [Mod] [Mod Queen’s Pregnancy]
  5. Kingdom of Portugal In order to settle the recent divides in the Marinha, King Pedro II Pacifico has ordered Admiral Luís Inocêncio de Castro to determine the optimal way for a navy to be run. The heads of the Marinha are to investigate the navies of Europe with especial focus on the earlier Portuguese navy as well as the British, French, Spanish, and Venetian navies. Comparisons between the Lisbonites and Oportonites are to be made with the existing navies, aiming to reduce inconsistencies and impractical measure in creating a Portuguese naval doctrine. Additionally, a report on naval doctrine is to be written as a manual for the admiralty of Portugal. [Mod+Responses] Colonists are rallied to join an expedition to the Cape Verde Peninsula and the minor islands along the coast along-side a contingent of 1 000 garrison men. The first order of action is to prepare adequate fortifications for settlement and construct a harbour for basing of the ships. Half-way through the year, a second group of colonists are to join the colony along with extra supplies of materiel, textiles, dried foods, and seeds. [Mod] Since the prior year’s kick-starts to the manufactories have proven successful, further generous investments are provided to crockers, magnaneries, and textile manufactories. Off-season subsidies are offered in exchange for partial ownership from 20-50% of the manufactories by the crown. [Mod] The Queen’s pregnancy [Mod]
  6. Kingdom of Portugal The recent success of the manufactories in Portugal has proven to be an effective way to revive the local economy, and these measures are to be taken further. Minor subsidies are provided to domestic textile manufactories and porcelain crockers, creators of some of the finest arts. Additionally, the Magnaneries of Portugal are to recieve some 200 000 Mulberry trees. To further aid the local industry, an increased tax is placed on the import of textiles, silks, and porcelain. [Mod] During the Summer months, King Pedro II Pacifico exchange many a letter with members of the French aristocracy, visiting Normandy and the Île-de-France to meet with King Louis XIV and François Marie, a member of the house Lorraine. A marriage to take place in Autumn of this year between the King incumbent and François Marie’s daughter, Béatrice Hiéronyme with the support of the Sun King. [Mod?] With the arrival of the British admiralty, logistic and strategic planning is underway, headed by Admiral Luís Inocêncio de Castro. Measuring the capacity of the Portuguese shipyards and harbours, sailors and captains, and supplies for the navy. Planning and training in naval warfare for the inexperienced Portuguese admiralty is also to take place. [Mod] The navy is not to reap all of the benefits of Anglo-Portuguese training. The arrival of John Churchill was well-received, and teaching the art of war with the best army in Europe only goes so far. One Matias de Albequerque, nicknamed “Hero of two Kingdoms” departs for England to meet with the commanders of the British army. His experience from the war and leadership in the famous Battle of Lisbon ought to bring with him quite the renown. [Mod]
  7. Kingdom of Portugal Following the death of King Alfonso VI in late 1683, the appointed heir and regent, Pedro (II) ‘Pacifico’ Braganza ascended to the throne. The now-Queen Maria Francisca would also pass away at the end of 1683, leaving their daughter Isabel Luísa as the heir to the throne of Portugal. Marinha Portuguesa During the War of Restoration, most warships evacuated the country to join the Spanish cause. The now-empty ports are inadequate for the protection of the state and its trade. In order to solve this problem, King Pedro II has called the Marinha to Lisbon to plan its expansion and restructuring. Preparations are made to visit captains, merchants, and shipwrights in order to get a better idea of what the situation is across the country, as well as to adjust production in accordance to the capabilities. Some 10 Frigates and 15 Galleons are planned for commission in accordance with the Marinha’s needs and capacity. (Mod) Domestic Manufactories The loss of the colonies has left a hole in goods being delivered to Portugal. In order to solve this, minor shipping privileges are given to domestic producers of goods such as wine, porcelain, jewellery, processed woods, and especially textiles. Textile supplies would be used in the reconstruction of the navy and outfitting of the military. (Mod) Anglo-Portuguese Treaty (1684) The ratification of a military alliance between the two kingdoms assuring friendship, co-operation, and defencive alliance was signed by the incumbent kings.
  8. Kingdom of Portugal After the long war for independence and the loss of their overseas land, King Alfonso VI Braganza had become a hero in the country. Though he was celebrated for a period after the war, his sickly nature and monotony towards ruling the country reduced him to little more than a mask worn by his brother and heir, Pedro Braganza. Pedro is a determined man who always keeps and open mind and will accept the advice of his advisors and visitors to the court. DexterII#4394

For the first time in 1380, the King of Klagenfurt has left not only a sole heir, but one that is not of age to rule the kingdom. As the Kingdom follows a strict rule of male inheritance, the late King Antonio III Di Scema has left his court to rule the realm. The Court, consisting of the nine Dukes of the realm, rule along with the Queen-regent in the crown’s name until 5 year-old Thomas II Di Scema will be fit to rule at the age of sixteen. The Kingdom of Klagenfurt was founded in 1157 by Prince Rupert of Styria when he invaded the region with his legendary Knights of 200, though Klagenfurt’s historians debate whether this number is accurate. Prince Rupert founded the city of Klagenfurt, declaring it the capital of his realm. Since then, the kingdom has grown two-fold in the east under the kings Rupert II who conquered past the River Selle, and Antonio I who conquered the Oryol Forest. While the kings were conquering the eastern lands, the Styrian clergy had moved in and erected a grand citadel, as is religious tradition, declaring the land subject to God. During the early days of the Kingdom, aristocrats and generals from Styria were invited to rule the land. The impact on the local culture was significant in the fertile west with many adopting Styrian customs, and the Styrian language becoming that of the aristocracy. However in the eastern highlands the influence was far lesser as local cultures had been more detached from those of the west. In the recent years, the influence has grown, and all nobles across Klagenfurt have adopted Styrian culture. Only four years ago, in 1376 did the Great Plague ravage the country, still lingering in the fringes of the western lands. Over 800 000 people died from the outbreak, mostly in the eastern lands. Many formerly sprawling urban centres reduced to mere villages after their population was indiscriminately slaughtered by diseases. Thousands of aristocrats died, leaving their land unowned, and serfs free to flee for the cities. The former King Antonio III Di Scema was amongst those who died after only a week since falling ill along with his five brothers, leaving only his wife and son to his name.
