Raizel's father was a Human and his mother was a Snow Elf. His father, Elderich Nevermore was an esteemed knight that that was forced to retire because of his injuries during The Triumvirate of Man. He chose to live a peaceful life as a hunter and a farmer after the gruesome war. His Mother Elysia Arcticite was a snow elf but unlike the others she felt no prejudice among any other race. She was a beautiful maiden and a deadly magus that often healed the wounds of any living being that was injured. Raizel's parents met one fateful day when Eldrich was ambushed by starving Frost Witches while hunting. He barely managed to dodge the first attack and was fighting a losing battle until Elysia came to his aid. It took her only a mere seconds to dispel and eradicate the witches and Elderich vowed to give his life to her shortly after. The two were a pair unlike any other and they gradually fell in love over the years of sharing experiences and happiness together. After only four years together they held a marriage and created a child.
Raizel. Shortly after his birth Raizel and his parents lived a peaceful and happy life until they were targeted by a rogue group of shades who later kidnapped them in the dead of night. The shades had already fallen deep into insanity and were power hungry animals. However, they were animals with knowledge and a drive to learn how things worked inside and out. Eldrich being a human let the shades experiment on him in flexible and viscous ways but Eldrich remained steadfast to hold his family together. All the pain that he suffered during the experiments meant nothing to him as long as he could see his family alive. Raizel's mother being an elf and a mage made her an interesting test subject for the shades. They were fixated with her and took their time breaking her physically and mentally to learn everything inside and out. After six months of these horrific experiments Eldrich was stripped of his life. By this point Raizel was beyond mentally broken for a child and Elysia was no longer her old self. From the beginning the two knew that they would not be able to have a happy ending, however, Elysia and Eldrich had only one goal and that was to save just Raizel. They knew that they wouldn't be able to save themselves but one life for the price of two would be possible. From the beginning they forged a plan to free him and kill the rogue shades so they could at least be content in the afterlife.
With Elysia's experience as a mage and Eldrich's vitality of a warrior they used everything they had to put a protective curse on Raizel that would protect him both physically as well as mentally so he could walk forward in life towards the future. The curse drained Eldrich of his life force, killing him, to enhance the fortifications on Raizel that protected him from what would come. On the seventh month the curse had been fully charged with both Eldrich and almost all of Elysia's life force. Before activating both the curse and the final step of the plan Elysia said her final loving words to her child and her farewells for both her and her husband, "Never give up and always walk forward. We will always be watching so live your life to the fullest... for the both of us." Afterwards Elysia destabilized all her mana and there was only light. Elysia had left a merciful gift to Raizel that day. She was a brilliant mage and a healer and she knew how broken the child's mind was. She was sure he would one day be strong enough to bear these memories but that day was not today. She locked up his memories in the curse which would slowly degrade over the years returning his memories gradually enough for him to be able to live with them.
After the tragic events Raizel was founded by Justin Rojet's family wandering the forest with very little memories of who he was and where he was. After being adopted into the Rojet family the father let Raizel keep his only remaining trace of his past. His name. Several years later, after a troublesome childhood filled with adventures and troubles Raizel continues his journey through the vast lands of Atlas.
