  1. The Crusade never ends

  2. Elsewhere- Another brother strains to recover from his blessing- Training hard so he might rescue his sister. Through strained, panted breath, Aranuir remarks. . . "I'll find you Eri- I promise."
  3. [!] Drums, horns, and trumpets sound in the deep. A hundred ravens leave their roosts, carrying missives to errant Clansdwarfs abroad, issuing a call to rally, a call to muster, a call to war. ᛟᚾᛏᚺᛖᚾᛟᚱᛏᚺᛖᚱᚾᛏᚺᚱᛖᚨᛏ ON THE NORTHERN THREAT All Legionnaires and Clansdwarfs prepared to battle in the name of our Grand Kingdom are summoned to muster in the Crownhold in five month's time to discuss the threat to our north known as the Harrower, a Darkspawn, presumed demon- and his enthralled raiders. Several Dwarves have already been cursed by this creature, and- More importantly, insults have been issued onto the name of Urguan that cannot go unaddressed. Let none accuse the Dwarfen folk of lethargy when actually slighted. A GRUDGE-WAR is henceforth declared, formally known as a reckoning- against the Raiders of the Alimere. The Legion, in cooperation with the Guild of Reckoners, will collect the necessary information on how to prepare against this threat alongside the other descendant realms, and will begin drafting plans for an Invasion of the Alimere shortly. Those intending to participate will be expected to answer the summons. Jorvin, son of Kazrin, son of Gardath, son of Osram, son of Koryk, son of Kazraden son of Skalf, son of Gotrek, son of Urguan, Lord of Gotrek’s Folk, Clan-Father of Elder Clan Starbreaker, High Reckoner of Urguan, Keeper of the Book of Grudges, Grand King Emeritus, Founding Councillor of the Fourth Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Conqueror of the Voidspawn Photania, Conqueror of the Korvassa, Slayer of Gazardiel, Hero of the Brathmordakin
  4. The Wronged: The Grand Kingdom of Urguan. The Assailant: Yera Silveira. Juniper Aurelia Rose. Anatoliy Ilya Alyovich Silveira Godunov. The Wrong: Insulting the honor of the Grand Kingdom and Urguan's kin. Date of Wrongdoing: 9th of the Amber Cold, 173 of the Second Age. Terms of Settlement: 1k minas as monetary compensation. A public missive apologizing for the slander. OR The extermination of the bloodlines of the assailants.
  5. ᚾᚨᚱᚡᚨᚴᛟᛉᚴᛟᚱᚾᚨᛉᚴᚨᚱᚢᛗᚾᚨᚱᚡᚨᚴᛟᛉᚴᛟᚱᚾᚨᛉᚴᚨᚱᚢᛗ To the thrice-damned knife-eared Wazzoks that dare impugn the honor of my kin. I will not have Urguan declared 'Fallen' by a tribe of Elves that have suckled at the teat of- In no particular order, Azdromoth, Voidal Horrors, and Orenians in my lifetime alone. If three Dwarfs is enough to make our race fallen, what does that make you? Nevertheless, I will, at least, grant you, that we have not been proactive in the matter of the Harrower, as there has been little to be gained by doing so. I will not have the honor of Urguan questioned, however, by you. As such, those suspected of corruption will be sufficiently questioned and apprehended by my guild, and I shall henceforth call a Reckoning to retaliate against this Harrower whoever it may be. Let it be known that Jorvin Godsbane will not tolerate his kin being cursed by some darkling whelp. The Throngs of Urguan are to be raised shortly, I shall remain in communication with those realms I deem need know. Finally, let it be known that the signatories of this missive shall be Begrudged pending a public apology and monetary compensation for insulting the honor of the Grand Kingdom.
  6. Art by famed Dwarven conartist, Mið the Journeyer An open letter from our founder, Jorvin Starbreaker My loyal customers, sons and daughters of Urguan, Malin, Krug, and descendants of those loyal men and women of Horen who, for years, purchased and wielded my wares in battle. As you may recall, Starbreaker Arms Co. Was once one of the most famous and prolific weapon-dealerships in the world, once outfitting the entirety of the Urguanite Legion, and hundreds of civilians with quality, affordable Dwarvish steel, produced by a clan of smiths continuing traditions that began at the dawn of the Elder Days. I, after ascending the Obsidian Throne in the 1774th year of the First Age, retired the company, and passed the mantle of Starbreaker business onto my younger clansdwed, Ulfar and Lulubelle, the former of whom remains in business today, and is an exceedingly skilled Craftsdwed in his own right. I have remained in retirement for many years, pursuing my own personal affairs, as my hoard has long-since grown past the point of my needing to churn a profit. In spite of that, I am a son of Gotrek, and my heart longs for the forge, I long for the days when my name was known across the land not for my deeds, but for my skill, and when everybody from the simple soldier, to mighty kings of men carried my steel into battle, and trusted in it to protect them and their loved ones. My weapons slew dragons, voidal horrors, undead, and Orenians by the score, and in each one of those glorious moments, I am proud to have played my small part. I want to see my wares wielded by a new generation, and earn new glory, both for me and you. And so, because of that, I am proud to announce the GRAND REOPENING of the Starbreaker Arms Company. Est 1720! Right outside the Gates of Urguan! OUR WARES Looking for a new blade, an axe, or a sturdy hauberk of maille? Here’s a list of our wares on launch- With more on the way! CUSTOM ORDERS AND LOYALTY PROGRAM Nothing in our catalog suits your tastes? That's alright, because I’m also reopening commissions, since I am once again working the forge, I might as well, aye? Commission prices vary widely, and though churning a profit isn’t my primary goal these days, I’m still a Grimdugan-fearing Dwarf after all, and so they will almost always be more expensive then one of my standard creations. However, this is where the loyalty program comes in. If you can come to me with a weapon I previously made (prior to my retirement, specifically) I am willing to halve the price of any item you wish to purchase, custom and stock. Furthermore, if you’re in possession of an item made by Clan Grimgold? Bring it to me to melt down, and I’ll replace it- Again, at half the price. Want to commission a custom order? Here’s a quick list of what I can and can’t do. (Note, if you want something made of a fancy material, you must provide said material in either raw or ingot form, or provide me something to melt down.) I can make. . . MUNDANE (STEEL/GOLD) DAEMONSTEEL STARSTEEL AZHL BOOMSTEEL THAHNIUM CARBARUM I can’t make. . . Ironwood (I’m a smith, not a florist.) Demon-Metal (I’ve never had the chance to work it) Dragon-Metal (I’ve never had the chance to work it) Alchemical Umgak (I’m a smith, not a chemist.) BULK ORDERS AND MERCENARY CONTRACTS Need to equip your burgeoning horde for World Domination? Luckily for you, I have minimal scruples in regards to who I arm, so long as they have no intention of turning those blades towards my Dwarfen kin, and aren’t begrudged by my clan or kingdom. Need fifty spears for your militia? Give me a weekend. Need a hundred? Give me a month. I’ll arm them all, and at a discounted price. Finally, want to see a Starbreaker weapon wielded by a professional? For only a small fee, I’ll show you! What's that I hear you say, I’m a smith and not a mercenary? While that is true, I need an excuse to get outside more, as I have left Urguan less than half a dozen times in the last century. I’ll not only make weapons for you- I’ll fight alongside you (representing myself only and maybe a few of my clansdwed, not the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, and only if granted leave by the Grand King and my wife). Note, I will not, under any circumstances, participate in banditry, nor will I fight in conflicts in which I have been barred by my king. But I’ve got a very fancy runic hammer, and little excuse to use it. This service is only available to customers who’ve previously purchased some of my wares, and is offered at a discounted rate if the opposing army is comprised of Orcs, descendant-houses of the House of Horen, High Elves, Mika Anarion, or Lefkos the High Elf.
  7. Jorvin Starbreaker, Hero of the Brathmordakin finally emerges from his hovel after a two-night long game of Battleaxe 50,000:tm: rubbing his eyes as they adjusted to the sunlight. Whilst retrieving a cup of tea to help himself wake up, he read over the missive, and frowned, before letting out an exasperated sigh. "Gods ah' hate Ire'earts."
  8. Elsewhere in the cold, frozen north, an undead Northman mulled on the queen's death. His mind returned to a Holmgang many years prior. . . "I have upheld my end of the bargain- No more! I've an urge to go a-viking."

Josh got multiple strongest soldiers, you're one of them, the two others are me and priceflash.

  11. Not terribly far from Norland, a long-dead Svarlandic Chieftain stirs in his restless barrow. More trespassers. . .
  12. Adunians tied with Highlanders?
  13. Idk what that is but ur a wizard just shoot a fireball (I have no rebuttal for this idk anything abt magic. Are your projectiles arrow strength?) Its not like people are going out of their way to be in melee range, but even if you're a fair distance away a foot combatant can cover most if not all of that distance in three turns. 2 dashes and a movement/action is 20 blocks, thats just a dude on foot. Bows theoretically have a long range yeah, but outside of events RP doesn't occur at that distance 2. Fair 3. I didn't read hunger games and katniss is a dumb name. Let people be Legolas, or, if it matters that much, put a restriction on how many arrows a person can carry on the armaments page, like how a character can only carry three potions, say ten or so arrows in a quiver or something. Though again I don't think CRP lasts long enough for running out of arrows to be a concern.
  14. I mean if its arrow strength then sure. Templar is the only magic I've ever rlly had, besides that, I was one of those full-plate wearing non-magic RPers, archers were and are a non-threat because by the time they were able to get their shot off I was already either 1. Using a shield, 2. Behind cover, or 3, already in melee range of them or thejr buddy. I would suppose the same applies to spells that are just magic arrows, especially if its a roll to hit. So true
  15. 1. Infinite arrows doesn't mean much when you're going to get 1 maybe 2 shots off before getting pulled into melee 2. Same applies to throwing weapons, crossbows, ******* ninja stars, and every other type of ranged weapon. 3. As is the general rule of 'roll and if its high ur prolly getting hit' has worked out well enough Let my people (aragorn larpers) go
  16. I don't hate this idea
  17. As it stands, in regards to action economy on LOTC, bows are, in my opinion, woefully underpowered. It currently takes three emotes to send an arrow down range, an arrow which is more likely, (due to the prevalence of plate armor on LOTC, and the fact its down to a flat roll) to do little to nothing at all. Archers- One of the three classic fantasy tropes (warrior, archer, mage) is basically useless. At the moment, _slings_ are more effective then bows due to their use against armor, yes, but also their lesser emote count. In fact, there's no reason to not bring a throwing weapon rather than a bow. They're quicker to use, and they hit harder. A goblin with a rock is currently more effective then an Elf who has been practicing archery for centuries, and that is kinda sad. The only events where I've seen bows be particularly useful are ones where the ET running it has dropped bows down to 2 emotes, and as for player vs player CRP, three emotes is a long time to waste to send a single arrow at somebody that might hit and might do some damage, while in 2 emotes I can throw an axe, a spear, or as I said, even a rock that'll hurt just as much. Make rangers useful again, make bows a viable option for people who want to play archer-types. But thats just my opinion, what are you guys thoughts?
