Khaldar's birth marked a lifetime of bad luck. His mom, Valya, died during his birth, and his father resentful towards Khaldar for her death started to dislike the child immediatly. His father, Khalmar, was a woodcutter by trade in a small village in the north of the Chalk Mountains, and used most of his money to buy alcoholic beverages. When they were finished he would practise his trowing skills on Khaldar. Years of abuse were normal for Khaldar, he did not know any better, but when he grew into a young adult he saw the fault of his fathers ways. One rainy night Khaldar woke up to the sight of his father, slowly walking towards Khaldar holding his woodcutting axe. Khaldar knew what would happen and he handled accordingly. After a quick fight his father lay flat on his belly, unconscious. Khaldar grabbed some of his belongings, stole a bit of his dad's money and walked of into the night. The rest of his life until now was trying to survive the harsh Chalk mountains of his youth, trying to find the his ancestral family the Grandaxes. His father never wanted to speak of the name, except when he was drunk, then he would tell stories of great dwarven kings, and heroes who all were Grandaxes. Hopefully he will find a new home
