  1. Bit of a nitpick but might need to specify this in the redlines, bc of how you worded it is just seems like it's just IC consent. The hard truth is that it's extremely hard, or rather impossible, to predict what a player can do. Even if you do not want it to happen, it will eventually happen. @Delmodancouldn't have put what I was trying to convey any better. Even if you say that it cannot be used this way, a bundle of players will roleplay it like that. OOCly, the verdict has already been set in stone from the moment they've been given an inch to make a mile out of. I've seen it happen before with Yeu's 'no lying' rule for example and this freeform version of it is a more hazardous alternative.
  2. Is this IC or OOC consent? Passengers should, at the very least, be able to choose on when they can leave the dream. This is, in my opinion, a spell that should be audited from the lore. It seems to have a lot of room for powergaming and low-effort roleplay. "Yes, your honor. I'm innocent, come into my lucid dream and I'll show you that this person is actually the guilty one." Agreeing with @AmericanSimpthat the teaching process should be given some more depth as well, but I like how freeform it is. All in all it's a very interesting concept but not one I can see working well on LOTC just for my own personal reasons
  3. 1. been playing dark dael for a little over a year iirc from the small age of five years old and now he's grown into the dark lord 2. one of the things i did while playing dael was focusing on the fact that he is a character that is only good because he changes so much, he's a character based on progression, so i make him go through 'arcs' to mirror his mental state or having it display some pretentious metaphor 3. i'd say the character that dael has had the most kinship with was probably either snow's character jeffery or spoons' character ehmet due to the fact that he's just known jeff for about the longest, while ehmet's interactions with dael albeit short paved a way into how i play dael now - with a bit more courage 4. i leave that up to people to perceive since i dont like ranking my own actions 5. this art piece i got from bobateaa - it's my favorite one that i have of dael atm 6. a lot of people i feel thought or still think that i play dael as a meme character especially with how i played him early on when he was a adolescent but it was all for a purpose. through character interaction and experiences he developed into person he is today
  4. i did not mean to ask a personal question
  5. how much art do you have for your characters
  6. im on story team so its been a while since ive seen light in general so i wouldnt know
  7. I really like it, trying to imagine a material 'absorbing light' is a bit confusing to me but it's a good concept
  8. love the art for this creature and the concept, but i do agree that it would require some depth. ill give you some advice from one player to another regarding stuff like this so you dont completely burn yourself out writing stuff like other people have 1. ignore the trolls like the people here, but take actual criticism to heart 2. you should probably change the name of the creature since it does seem to be a bit memey, people will have to be saying it irp most likely if it gets accepted and that can be kind of immersion-breaking for some people 3. definitively follow lumi's advice on looking at past lore posts (mainly the implemented ones rather than the denied ones lol) 4. dont write any lore for the sake of it being accepted, more-so either to provide to a narrative, niche, or just because you think it's a fun idea if you wanna talk on it more let me know in story discord my discord is bldstlk#6616, glhf
  9. pudding my nuts in your mouth @aiden0023that's how it's done, rookie.

  11. After reading the lore, a Dark Lord smiles.
  12. The Dark Lord nearly smiles upon reading the papers, happy to hear that Otto-boy is doing well for himself.
  13. The Dark Lord put his cane down as he sat and took to his pen - twirling a small quill between his digits for a moment as he laid a parchment down before him. He began to write, and not much time later the Warmonger would find this missive folded and sent in a regal envelope, sealed within crimson wax. "To Needle, the 'Warmonger'. I've not much doubt you are not aware of who I am, but simply consider me - in a lack of a better term, a friend. After first hearing about your people's migration to Almaris, I've had worries that you would be mistreated. Yes, that much is self-evident. You have been mistreated in ways that even I cannot hope to imagine, for your people are treated no doubt like the lesser creatures you resemble. I can sympathize with this, with you. It is excruciating to be seen in such a light. I have heard your plea and will be venturing out to the realm of dwarves to meet with any representative you'd like to bring in three saint days. An ambassador, or your leader. We will discuss peace amongst my people and yours. Something beneficial shall be offered for my Clan and yours; perhaps to talk about trade, politics, or we'll share stories about our respective histories - and I will be there to offer you advice regarding any issues you may have on behalf of the rest of the Descendants. However, I've also heard your cry for battle, that darkness you seem to harbor so dear to your heart. I wonder if it makes you feel stronger, despite having such a malformed, strange vessel. I will say this with no hint of doubt in my mind; your people will become nothing more than a passing thought, a mere memory, should you decide to go into battle against the Descendants. Making the world your enemy, even if it is for the sake of pride, is a foolish thing. Do not be persuaded by my words; I will not step forward and command you on what actions you should take for your people, for I personally do not think that is my right. I am a representative of my people as you are yours, and therefore I will not hesitate to act should a drop of their blood be spilt by the tips of your blades. I have delicately studied your people, your ways, your culture. I know who deserves mercy, and who does not. You fail to see the impact your actions and words have on the residents of this land, and I will show you the consequences of such if necessary. I say again. A drop of my people's blood is all it will take for your entire race to be reduced to nothing but the engravings on a wall, a page in a history book, and a stain on Almaris itself. Let that not be a reason for you not to see me in good light, for that is not a warning to you nor your people - but rather a promise. This is a Descendant's world, allow me to accept you into it with open arms. I look forward to seeing a response from you if possible, and will be riding to your home in three days as per scheduled. Until then, I'll be hoping that you'll see this missive as an invitation to peace. - Sincerely, Lord Dark Dael of Edenia."
