  1. Jack Was Never [[This is a transformative work of “Sera Was Never” from “Dragon Age: Inquisition”]] ((An RP version (written book) of the work can be possibly found in one of Helena’s bookstore, or contact me if you want it.)) (My lyrics don’t perfectly fit with the melody of the song so consider some vowel adjustments when reading it compared to the song) As he seats on the seat of his study, the mali’ame Siol’Avern looks around the room. His head wonders around his life for a moment as he takes up to himself some creative and musical inspiration. His thoughts go to his good friend Jack Reynold. Coming up with a nice and cheerful rythm not long ago, he decides to make a ballad on his friend’s tale; so he picks up a book from under his desks and begins his writing. Before writing the song he states scribes: ”The Ballad you are about to read tells the tale of my dear and good friend, Jack Reynolds; a man I, Siol the Bard, was almost asked to kill but assisted on keeping alive instead” After the author’s note the ballad continues with guiding musical notes atop the lyrics which depict how it is to be played and sounded. The Original Song: Male Cover (Go like this guy’s video ‘cause it’s honestly underappriciated and underrated) : [Verse 1] ♪Jack was rarely an agreeable lad, His story shows marks of misfortune♪ ♪For he was not, the luckiest man When his head was near execution♪ [Verse 2] ♪Jack was never quite the following man - His steps were fast; independent♪ ♪And so did our little Jackey lad Come enlisting into the army♪ [Chorus] ♪But he did not quite fancy-it much So he decided not to show up more♪ ♪And instead went to the tavern, not the drill♪ ♪He’s a rogue and a loner and He’ll find his fate.♪ ♪But he did not like it much So he decided not to show up more♪ ♪And instead went to the tavern, not the drill♪ ♪He’s a rogue and a loner and He’ll find his fate.♪ [Verse 3] ♪Jack’s path led him to Helena Some say he lived in the tavern.♪ ♪But he did meet Siol in that same place Where they spoke and became good friends♪ [Verse 4] ♪Siol was also part of the Heanse army His lute plays songs for the women♪ ♪And Jack would tell him he was a wanted man And it was because of ‘desertion’♪ [Chorus] ♪He would always like to say: “They want my head to take away today. But I will not return there once again, for I was done wrong and It’s not my fate”♪ ♪But Siol the bard would then say: “You have to come back there with me today, Or they will ask me to chop your head, And I kill no friends for any reason”♪ [Verse 5] ♪Jack was never the fretting man, But he did all he could for his own friends♪ ♪So he came back to train in the army, And the sword saw no execution.♪ [Chorus] ♪And from now he’d like to say: “I will come back here every next day And I’ll keep my head for the army now, I’m no rogue, but I’m lone And I’ll find my fate”♪ ♪And from now he’d like to say: “I will come back here every next day And I’ll keep my head for the army now, I’m no rogue, but I’m lone And I’ll find my fate”♪
  2. In the hills of the deep of Haense, Lived a family of three, There was only one thing they could agree, The people in the village beneath were never truly free Lo’ the family was Elven! wise beyond their years They watched as the people began to disappear, Life goes on, Life goes still, And eventually one went up the hill. A strong lad, made her weak in the knees, his charm and wit making him quite the tease The lass fell quickly and hard, leaving only a shard. As they grew older their hands were tied, He made her his bride. Life goes on, Life goes still, And eventually she went up the hill. “Mother Mother Why? Am I never satisfied? He lays alone in bed, nearly half-dead.” “Daughter of mine, it is his time. Leave your prayers behind,” “The life of a bard is short, but it won’t be bort.” Life goes on, Life goes still, And eventually they descend the hill.
  3. Raven Storm [[This is a transformative work of “The Wolven Storm” from “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”]] ((An RP version (written book) of the work can be possibly found in one of Helena’s stalls, or contact me if you want it.)) Siol’Avern picks up his empty book, his fingers appear tired as marks of string pressure can be seen around them. After having played his lute for some minutes, the bard equips his inked quill, and starts writing something to compliment the melody. The Orignal Song: Male Cover (Go like this guy’s video ‘cause it’s honestly underappriciated): [Verse 1] ♪Open eyes, unbarred heart, she's the song the bard sings.♪ ♪So long I've glimpsed her, ooh have I looked much?♪ ♪My eyes she's taken, with her thievieng look, whence we stood up on the tree.♪ [Chorus] ♪You flee, my dream come the morning.♪ ♪Your scent, flies about, fills my soul.♪ ♪To dream, of sable locks unwinding calmly, of sweet coal eyes, glisting as you weep.♪ [Verse 2] ♪The maid I will follow into the storm.♪ ♪To find her heart, unfound for long.♪ ♪By doubt ever growing; straying away from love.♪ ♪Amidst the cold to hold you in a heated embrace.♪ [Chorus] ♪You flee, my dream come the morning.♪ ♪Your scent, flies about, fills my soul.♪ ♪To dream, of sable locks unwinding calmly, of sweet coal eyes, glisting as you weep.♪ [Verse 3] ♪I know not if fate would have us live as one.♪ ♪Or if by love's blind chance we've been bound.♪ ♪The wish I whispered when it all began,♪ ♪Did it forge a love you might never have found?♪ [Chorus] ♪You flee, my dream come the morning.♪ ♪Your scent, flies about, fills my soul.♪ ♪To dream, of sable locks unwinding calmly, of sweet coal eyes, glisting as you weep.♪
  4. A mali’fenn poet sits within the Drakon manor. He is in a chair with a table in front of him and a roaring fire beyond that. A quill is in his hand, the feather brushing against his hair as it is brought to his chin in thought. On the table in-front of him are multiple piece of parchment, each with their own scribbling. Some have circles, some have crosses, others clearly have been crumpled up and then unraveled again. Silence over takes the room as he looks at his journal on the ground next to his feet. “This man lived through too much,” he grins and shakes his head. “From a magic addict to a paladin huh?” Rithon Caelthor Drakon picks the book up and flips through the pages. He stares at a page and a **** eating grin appears on his head. He throws the book to the ground and immediately starts writing again. And it would be a while until he stopped. LEFKOS SCROLL ((Done in around 5 hours all at once. So certainly not as good as it could have been, but good enough.))
  5. In the north-eastern realms of Arcas, but a stone-throw away from Cloud Temple, in the capital of the Princedom of Fenn, Tahu’lareh, a 6’ 2” man stands proud on a stage inside the Silver Snowflake. The room is bustling with people celebrating its grand re-opening. His eyes scan the room and he nods to himself before clearing his throat loudly and drawing the attention of the tavern dwellers. “As you can all I see I have returned from the lands of past kings, and with only a single battle wound at that.” He motions to the bandage on his head. Many people shake their head and return to their drinks but he carries on. “And I hear your thoughts, ‘how, young Rithon? How did you receive that wound upon your head despite your Drakon strength and skill?’ Well I shall tell you! It all started when I departed on the beginning days of The Sun’s Smile, 1756.” He strums his lute once regaining the attention of those that had looked away and smiles. His mind returns to the journey. He remembers the voyage to Athera. the battle with the undead sea creature as well as the dragon that had been eaten by an even larger sea monster. He recalls his disappointment upon learning the ship’s name was “The Barking Cat”. He remembers the Kraken destroying their ship and washing upon the shores of Athera, and seeing the dead land. Then he begins to play. ((Inside this spoiler are the lyrics to “Gudour’s Bash” a LOTC parody of the song played in the video above. That same song is called “Dragon Bash: Bash the Dragon” from Guild Wars 2. Its my attempt at summarizing the paladin event line of the Athera event in song from the beginning days of The Sun’s Smile, 1756 to the last days of the Grand Harvest 1758.)) Rithon smiled at the small group of people who applauded him and rests his lute down gently on the table beside him. From that same table he picks up one of two scrolls and opens it, letting the long parchment unfurl itself. “On this page I have recorded the names and deeds of those who stood out, at least to me, in our journey!” Ariselle – Ihnsil'ahril Lien'orrarirvallei – Xuag Bonus Mention(s): ((These scrolls can be found in game in a book called: “Heroes of the Athera Paladin Adventure”)) ((Could have been a lot better but I just wanted to get it out there. If your character isn't in the scrolls its because you didn’t fill out my Google Form questions ?. Sorry. Thanks again to Mystery and all the ETs involved with the Athera event. A thanks to Korvic for fixing the server and keeping his pex. Lastly, a thank you to Fury_Fire for letting me tag along with his group of paladins.
  6. ((Basically just an LOTC version and give me your rep please and thank you ?)) A snow elf wipes his brow of sweat with the back of his hand as his hand moves the quill across the paper one last time. He holds the paper up by the hearth’s roaring fire and nods. Wise Malin was the Elven-king. Of him the chorus gladly sing; The first whose realm was wild and free Between the Forests and the Sea. His ears were sharp, his hair would sheen. The love for nature always seen; the countless strikes of Malin's sword was the Fallen's just reward. But long ago he fade away, and where he dwelleth none can say; for into legend fell his star in Aegis a land dead and far.
  7. Origin: The creation of this instrument follows suit, The Amber Cold of 1740 was upon the land of Arcas. Tinkering in his little cave abode, Goilard Costa Olivera the Second, alongside his manservant, created what he would call “The Accordion”. Months prior to this, Goilard had been researching and brainstorming ideas on how to make a new instrument. Being a Bard and a musician, his love for the piano heavily influenced his creation. The idea was to create a sort of portable piano, but also not making it a piano at all. When Goilard drafted up the plans on a strip of leather, he brought it to the trade master of Sutica, Mr. Uialben. Once the plans were explained, Mr. Uialben gave a gracious donation of 100 minas for the creation of this new instrument. Appearance: This portable instrument has two almost circular wooden disks being held together by what looks like the folding part of a fire bellow. Embedded in one disk is a miniature piano. On the other disk is several small buttons laid in a few rows and a hand strap. The size is around that of an orc’s skull and can fit comfortably on the lap or in the hands of a regular-sized male highlander ((It resembles more of a concertina, which still falls under the category of an accordion. Sound: The small instrument gives off a rich, reedy, and organ-like sound unlike any of its time. Its sound can envoke emotions of happiness and glee, making the player seem more charming. Purpose (OOC): I have been on LOTC for a long time now and I have never heard or seen someone with an accordion and I have not found 1 post of anyone actually inventing it. I also thought this would add more character to my Bard if he made/played a new instrument. If someone claims to have had an accordion before this post I do not discredit them, this is just an official unofficial post.
  8. Introduction Hello and welcome, dear reader, to another installment of scientific breakdowns of questions posed by Christopher Francis Ocean. Today we will be discussing the possibility of Mr. Ocean coming out as Mr. Surtr - the bringer of Ragnarök. If you missed the previous installment where we discussed a line in Biking regarding the effects of moving air and heat dissipation, please feel free to give that a read over here. Context, Lyrics and the Question In the Blonde album closer, Futura Free, our Los Angeles based rapper/singer heads into a realm of philosophy that touches upon theological territory. He asks his mother, Katonya Breaux Riley, the following: I'm just a guy I'm not a god Sometimes I feel like I'm a god but I'm not a god If I was I don't know which heaven would have me, momma? Let me run this ***** I'ma run it into the ground momma, the whole galaxy [Christopher Francis Ocean, Futura Free, 2016] This is indeed a valid question! Which heaven (a symbolic term which we will interpret as referring to a form of religious belief system) would be suitable for inviting Mr. Ocean, a god-but-not-really-a-god, to essentially destroy the whole universe? Analysis None of the most popular religions in the world seem to fit the mission statement that Mr. Ocean posits here: neither Christianity, Islam nor Hinduism seem to have religious scriptures that are a match for being run over by a would-be galaxy destroyer. We will have to find a place for our god-but-not-really-a-god elsewhere. And luckily enough, there is a place for Mr. Ocean in a religion: in the Norse Mythology, as Surtr, the bringer of the foretold apocalyptic event known as Ragnarök. Let us lay out the reasoning for this by learning more about the writings on Surtr: Surtr is foretold as being a major figure during the events of Ragnarök; carrying his bright sword, he will go to battle against the Æsir, he will do battle with the major god Freyr, and afterward the flames that he brings forth will engulf the Earth – Surtr will fling fire over the earth and burn the whole world. [Henry Adams Bellows, The Poetic Edda: The Mythological Poems, 2004] Seems pretty fitting a role for a galaxy destroyer as Mr. Ocean, no? Also, Surtr fits the description perfectly of a being like Mr. Ocean that sometimes feels like a god but is not a god, as Surtr is a Jötunn, more specifically a Fire Giant – who is not recognized as a God but can do battle with Gods. Also, Mr. Ocean could likely be a Fire Giant, as he 100% spits fire. And besides, what can make you feel like a God more than defeating one in combat: If Ragnarok comes to pass, Surtr will rise up with the legions of Hela's dead mortals and attack the forces of Asgard. It is prophesied that should this happen, Surtr will slay the god Frey. [Raven Kaldera, Northern Paganism, 2012] We’ll let you guys prophesy. [Christopher Francis Ocean, Nikes, 2016] in conclusion Narthok is based and a true son of Odin yours in raiding,

  11. The Bards’ Guild “Quill supra laminae” “Trees are amongst us: some of nations, some of families, and some of.. nature. In common, they all blossom and fruit and shed and rest. They house creatures, of some sort, and sanguine nectar in the core of their well intent. For the nation, their coffers be the nectar. For the family, it be their blood. For the nature, its nectar is pure. The branches reach out, in our dear trees. The nation has its guilds and groups, with the family its ancestry, and the tree? Mere sticks. The fruit.. is where our trees diverge. One willow may weep its bitter ichor, and another sycamore its sour cherries. Yet, as of late, nations have bore little fruit of culture. The families refuse to let what fruit their branches hold fall. And nature? Well, it’s not apples this be writ for. Nay, friends. It be our culture. We are all of the same thicket.. and, as nature, in want of growth. Yet, there has been little fertile ground for our nimble tendrils to reach out and embrace Enlightenment! That very light which not only will see joy through, but our existence in itself. For too long has the darkness blighted the people: short wonder it has only been the glint of a crown’s ruby, or a blade’s gleam that had caught their attention.” It is our livelihood, and pleasure, as Bards of Enlightenment, to reach our branches further - enough to bask in the glory of open day, beyond what has been a dark age. It be Sol, and its nightly friends, which direct our path - by the faith of Urguan we reside within. The parallel shared is so close, it is more simpler to see us Bards as one to the Dwarves. Do not mistake this for blind loyalty, however. Us Bards only have our Curator as our superior: not even the King of the Urguan may dictate what is writ of them, or anyone, or anything - for that matter. It is the constitution we embody, and which allows us our rights - of arts, be they dramatic or fine, and literature. Music completes a ‘trinity’ of activity the Bards are expected to partake and progress upon. It is oft one strand of this trinity which a typical Bard would specialise upon (Arts, literature, or music). It is our Curator who assigns our overall vision, which Titania Hawksong currently holds the septum for. The route for Enlightenment is open for all, who reside in our realm. The Intelligentsia of Vailor, us Bards are not just the orators of tales and opera, but of the people themselves. To whom it may concern, the guild means to accept those well-versed in the ways of the nation they serve under, and those who abide by its laws. Thus, may their knowledge be prodded, in addition to receiving a collation of their general profile. The Intelligentsia are distinguished as a group of their own, for reason - of merit and respect - and this calls for individuals capable of being the greatest thinkers and visionaries Vailor has seen. ============================================== Deliver, by bird or otherwise, the following credentials and responses: those accepted will receive response from either the Co-Curator or the Curator themselves. If ye may not even wish to do this, how may ye muster the burdens of entire novels or play productions.. or even a single great work of sculpting? ============================================== Application If you'd rather do this in-game, please PM Ayevia. I) Name (in brackets, include ign): II) Race: III) Place of Origin: IV) Intention of desired strand, of the trinity (Arts, Literature, Music) for specialism: V) Reasoning in becoming of the Bards: VI) Potential projects you may aspire to do: ============================================== To those who have shown the will to become Bards, it is not only the velvet pouch of Mina they are to expect - but to be among the first to witness and pursue what wars have been fought for, and empires risen and fallen. The peace of a book. The joy of a tale. The advancement of a nation. You are now of the masons of culture, pride and Enlightenment.. and chisel away at governments, people and mortar all the same. From all three of them emerge great works, and it is your name bound in the scrolls of history (which even you writ!) which is the greatest reward for what service you will have. ============================================== THE MAP TO THE BARDS' GUILD Do not forget: Quill supra laminae.

  13. Note: If anyone is interested in roleplaying a Bard and learning this Magic (if implemented) and wants to help out develop the lore, spells, and the overall idea, than contact me. Diatone Magic A.K.A Bard Magic or Music Magic On the subject of what Diatone Magic falls under such as arcane, deity, or dark magic, is a rather complex question. It would be more suitable for this Magic to have its own group, also because if a character is to learn this magic and master it, they cannot learn any other form of Magic. But I will put this up for the Magic Team to decide (if this gets implemented as lore) because they are the experts. If it must fit in a already CANON category, that it would most likely fall under Arcane Magic Ch. I : What is the basis of Music RP and Magic Ch. 15. The University Several posters advertising the University are found around nation capitals. The University is a place of learning, knowledge, discipline, and enlightenment. Here you can pursue your dream career and get a formal education on just about every subject you can imagine! Our job is to connect hardworking students with prestigious teachers and to enlighten the population across Athera. Everyone is welcome to learn, and those qualified enough are invited to teach. -=- The University is founded upon these basic principles: 1) Everyone is at the University to learn. Even I, the Headmaster. The University does not only dabble in a student's education, but it also strives to make everyone more intelligent and knowledgeable, including staff. Here, the teachers can continue or start their own research with the aid of the students. The University is a place of discovery. 2) Anyone can receive an education. Respect plays a huge role in the University. We do not turn away students based on race, religion, age, or gender. If you pass the admissions and can pay your set tuition, you are allowed to attend. 3) Knowledge is neutral. We do not align ourselves with a certain nation or group. All members from all nations can come and learn, but none will have our support in a conflict, and none shall be harmed by us. We are a non-biased non-profit organization. -=- What we teach: It all depends on the number of teachers and the collective knowledge we have. We do not have a set in stone curriculum on any subject and allow the teachers of one course to decide on a curriculum together. If we only have one teacher that teaches Alchemy, then we will only teach alchemy. If we have a hundred teachers that teach a everything from Astronomy to Electric Evocation, than we will teach all of those things. We would think it a great disservice to teach something we do not fully understand ourselves. Finances: Attending the University sadly does cost money, however we try to trim it down wherever we can. The University is completely non-profit and the only thing that covers our expenses (paying teachers, purchasing materials, etc) is covered by donations and tuition. The fee for tuition is determined by your admissions exam. Score well, it can be as low as ten mina per elven month. Do poorly, and it can be as high as a thousand mina per elven month. Hardworking pays off at the University, but we also give out scholarships to the most bright students who cannot afford an education. Each year, we set aside money as scholarship funds and award it to the less-wealthy, brighter students. Also, I and the higher-up staff do not get paid at all, aside from lodging and food. Recruiting: If you are interested at teaching at the University, please fill out an application below. Also note that we pay teachers based on our tuition rates for students, so in the beginning, income may be a little slow. You can apply to teach whatever you want, Admissions: If you would like to be a student and attend the University, please fill out an application below. If you state a profession you want to pursue, but there are no teachers available to teach it, you can take your exam anyways to determine your tuition. Tuition is paid after you start learning and there are no other fees. The University also provides shelter and housing for those who need/desire it. - Headmaster Austentine Cothe Applications: Teacher: OOC - Minecraft IGN RP - Character Name: Age: Race/Gender: What you would like to teach: Experience on Subject: Willing to prepare a demonstration (Y/N): Current Occupation (if one): Student: OOC - Minecraft IGN: RP- Character Name: Age: Race/Gender: What would you like to learn?: Economic Background (Poor, Middleclass, or Rich?): List of Available Curriculum: N/A
  16. *Confidants, and existing guild members, litter about any establishment with eyes nearby and ,with a thud of a palm, plaster on the upper rim of a gold embroidered parchment. It is headed with a trusting Salvian Crest.* The Salvian Bards’ Guild “Quill supra laminae” Cera 1505 “Trees are amongst us: some of nations, some of families, and some of.. It be Sol, and its nightly friends, which direct our path - by the faith of the Republic we reside within. The parallel shared is so close, it is more simpler to see us Bards as one to the Republic. Do not mistake this for blind loyalty, however. Us Bards only have our Curator as our superior: not even the Chancellor of the Republic may dictate what is writ of them, or anyone, or anything - for that matter. It is our Curator who assigns our overall vision, which Giliath Haldar currently holds the septum for. As with any guild, our leading representative - the Curator - is elected, during the time of the Salvian Elections, every sixteen years. The route for Enlightenment is open for all, who reside in our realm - yet, those who’ve bound themselves to it find themselves funded by the very government they mean to sculpt the ways of (Salvian Citizens). The Intelligentsia of Athera, us Bards are not just the orators of tales and opera, but of the people themselves. For Foreigners truly seeking a ground of fertility of thought and truth, a sum of 200 Minae every other year (two Elven weeks) - as membership tribute - is but a paltry price for the masonry of culture, and oft paid back in purchase of works of art and productions. Even if that be of discomfort, fellow Bards oft finance those in need of continuing their pursuit of Enlightenment. To whom it may concern, the guild means to accept those well-versed in the ways of the Republic they serve under, and those who abide by its laws. Thus, may their knowledge be prodded, in addition to receiving a collation of their general profile. The Intelligentsia are distinguished as a group of their own, for reason - of merit and respect - and this calls for individuals capable of being the greatest thinkers and visionaries Athera has seen. ============================================== Deliver, by bird or otherwise, the following credentials and responses: those accepted will receive response from either the Consulate or the Curator themselves. If ye may not even wish to do this, how may ye muster the burdens of entire novels or play productions.. or even a single great work of sculpting? Salvian Information (Link) ============================================== Application ============================================== To those who have shown the will to become Bards, it is not only the velvet pouch of Mina (as all works receive compensation) they are to expect - but to be among the first to witness and pursue what wars have been fought for, and empires risen and fallen. The peace of a book. The joy of a tale. The advancement of a Republic. You are now of the masons of culture, pride and Enlightenment.. and chisel away at governments, people and mortar all the same. From all three of them emerge great works, and it is your name bound in the scrolls of history (which even you writ!) which is the greatest reward for what service you will have. Do not forget: Quill supra laminae.
