  3. ONE LAST SWIM TEST “Poor is the pupil who does not surpass his master.” - Captain Banjo As Captain Banjo looked out from his war camp - his gaze met his former students on horseback repping their green bandanas. Hidden from his soldiers, a smile enlightened Banjo’s face as he recognized many of the faces of those fighting against him. He thought to himself: “Perhaps, this is the day my students surpass their Captain.” He chuckled at the thought of it and as the bombardment of the siege equipment commenced, he charged out with a small detachment of the Covenant’s finest - Garen and Sigmar Baruch, Vasili Vanrov, and others. His men engaged the horsemen with their bows, but seeing the war camp pummeled with fire - he decided to charge upon the enemy’s cannons. “Charge!” He yelled, commanding the entire Covenant force to charge at the enemy’s entrenched positions. Fear must have struck into the poor Van Aerts & Ferrymen’s hearts who were manning the cannons as they saw the legendary Captain Banjo at the forefront of the charge and the first on their battlements. As the skilled captain and his personal guard quickly slayed the enemy’s fear-struck soldiers, the remaining Covenant forces poured into the enemy’s position quickly slaughtering the enemy and destroying their cannons. Satisfied from their push, the Covenant forces pulled back to their camp to continue their bombardment of Brasca. Not shortly after, the enemy returned to their positions on the lower cannons. Captain Banjo pondered: “Why? Did Vyllaenen, Istvan, and Gustaf Van Aert not learn?” Upon seeing this, the mighty Captain and his companion, King Aleksandr III, ordered another charge upon the enemy lines. The enemy died just as quickly as they did returning to their beloved cannons. As Covenant artillery battered the enemy fort with their fire, Captain Banjo took his special force - Yacht Team 6 - to the western tower of the fort where many of the Ferrymen were. His small band clashed with the Ferrymen and their allies before the Ferrymen retreated back into their tower behind their gate. It was there he laid his eyes on his pupils - Django and Vyllaenen - and right next to them the gate controls! He raved as his former apprentices attempted to leverage one of his own strategies - gate trapping - to beat the Captain! “Ah - the classic gate trap strategy. It has a 100% success rate against Orenians” As soon as the gate opened once again, the Captain stormed the tower, but when they closed the gate thinking they trapped him, the Captain outwitted his students and used the gate controls to let in his remaining soldiers. It was in fact here where Vyllaenen met his blunder, as he was slayed, along with his Van Aert companion. “Perhaps the student still needs to learn a bit more - at least Django was smart enough to live!” He rejoiced knowing at least one of his students had learned something. As he reunited with the main force, the Covenant men committed to one last final push to break the remaining Adrian & Ferrymen forces. It was here where most of the enemy ultimately met their fate. As he reflected on his victory, he could only be disappointed by his former men’s performance. He wrote to his former ferryfriends, “Today’s lesson of the day: the swim test. Those who cannot swim should follow the Captain on his ship - not drown following those who cannot lead.” Signed, Banjo, The Captain of the Ferrymen, Savior of the Common and Free People, Pillager of Elvenesse, Liberator of Man, The Bringer of Equality, Capturer of the Bastion, Defeater of Racism, Debearder of Grand Kings, Sailor of the Seas, 2x Mr. Almaris, Emperor of the Roads, Lord of Shipwreck Keep, Occupier of New Providence, 40 Star General, The Greater Lobster Fisherman, Premortem Saint of Epic Ballads, Grand Admiral of Haense, Emancipator of the Scallywags & Sailors, Steward of Breakwater Ruins
  4. ADRIFT; A NEW HARBOR “If you’re going to be onboard - be onboard. If not, just sail away because you’re just a scallywag” - Captain Banjo “Django… Vydrek… Jesus… Brick… Andronikos… Leonidas… Valentin… Adzy… Lyulen… Father…” He murmured as he looked upon his depiction of the original founders of the Ferrymen in his galleon. As he sat on the helm of his newly acquired galleon (financed by his victory over the Van Aert family), a dream in his sleep - a message from Godan himself. [Chat GPT write a message from God calling Banjo to fight for Haense/God] As Banjo awoke abruptly from his slumber, he reached over to his night stand and grabbed his green bandana once more - one last final time. He made his way to the helm of his galleon, making way to the shores of Aevos. Invigorated, he put up his sails and walked to the hull of ship where the previous name of the ship read: “King Phillip’s Folly” And put an X through the name of the ship, before writing next to it: “Vyllaenen’s Blunder.” As he docked in the harbor of Haense, his oldtime ally, with his newly revised and upgraded flag, he strutted off his ship and made way to the royal palace. THE FOLLOWING TERMS HAVE BEEN AGREED UPON BY BANJO AND ALEKSANDR II: I. Captain Banjo and his yachtsmen will rally their banners to fight with the Covenant. II. Captain Banjo will be titled ‘Grand Admiral of Haense’ and given supreme authority over (naval) wartime decisions. III. Captain Banjo will be given stewardship of Breakwater Keep ruins for the rehabilitation for any Post Siege Stress Disorder (PSSD). IV. Captain Banjo will emancipate all sailors and scallywags from the influence of Van Aerts. V. The agreement between Banjo and Aleksander II will be voided at the conclusion of the war. HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, Aleksandr II, by the Grace of Godan, King of Hanseti and Ruska, Grand Hetman of the Army, Hochmeister of the Order of the Crow, Prince of Bihar, Dules, Lahy, Muldav, Slesvik, Solvesborg, and Ulgaard, Duke of Carnatia, and Vanaheim, Margrave of Korstadt, Rothswald, and Vasiland, Count of Alban, Alimar, Baranya, Graiswald, Karikhov, Karovia, Kaunas, Kavat, Kovachgrad, Kvasz, Markev, Nenzing, Siegrad, Torun, Toruv, Valdev, and Werdenburg, Viscount of Varna, Baron of Astfield, Buck, Esenstadt, Kraken’s Watch, Kralta, Krepost, Lorentz, and Rytsburg, Lord of the Westfolk, Protector and Lord of the Highlanders, etcetera. 5. Campaign Report Action Report -The Spire Still Stands- Issued by the HAUPTMANN OF REINMAR On this 12th day of Sun’s Smile of 156 E.S. To the Reinmaren People On this day the Forces of Reinmar and Minitz aided the combined forces, if Haense, Aaun, and Bailan to capture the murders of the Aaun crown, before coming to the defense of Whitespire. Where the combined force obliterated a force from Veletz returned an uneasy peace to the lands. This was started by a rouge noble house stassion, murdered the king of Aaun in cold blood, then attempted to flee when a the coalition forces arrived and chanced them across the waters around Whitespire. Before getting word of a Veletz rally heading for Aaun, as such we took up positions inside the city, after a few moments of back and forth the coalition drove deep into the enemies line and crushed them between the gate and their steel! May the Reinmaren win many more victories. Wer Rastet, Der Rostet Saint Edmond, as my brothers go to battle over the coming days, grant them fortitude and protect them. Pray for God to show mercy to the dead, and that in hoping for victory today, we may win the peace tomorrow. GOTT MIT UNS, Hauptmann of Reinmar

  10. It was supposed to be a normal day, a festive one at that, in the Principality of Talarnor. Of course, there were always risks of attack, but everyone thought the glistening skyline of a city to be impenetrable. That was, until it was done. Yet no one had expected it to be the midget menace… The Death of Eyvind Kvitravn II His youth had been marred by war, by those of the Orenian Empire who sought world domination, to end with the Dwedmar, who his people had once called “comrades in arms.” Many times, Norland had risen and fallen from grace, thus he was whisked off into the Far North to grow into a man, where many young ones had never made it to. Eyvind knew of the plight of his nation and its growing isolation. Yet, it was only after he had grown and accepted an invitation from his brother, Dominic, had he realized that Norland was alone. That would be the theme he would find himself in for the first few months after arriving in the new capital of the nation. Alisgrad, the Phoenix Forged City. Where the ashes of the disgraced Kingdom could finally start to be melded and hammered into something new, something great. A man could go there, a bastard and nameless, and become immortalized for deeds great and small. Eyvind went there with nothing but a brother and legacy to try and uphold. Not many moons had passed, but he had already established himself as a capable soldier. Many of the Ashguard respected him, but that wasn’t saying much as there were so few. A peaceful nation needed not the huge armies of the South, but more needed for a show of unity and a way for men to make a living. After establishing himself, his brother came to him in the dead of night, bearing news that would change the freshly minted soldier’s life. “The Adunians of Cartref Mor are planning an uprising against the crown.” The words hit him like a horse bucking him off into a brick wall. Some drinks later, he went off to find them, where they declared war against the Kingdom after firing upon members of the King Council. Later, they rode back once they heard of the capture of High Keeper Grigori. Then, The Battle of Cartref Mor. He braved the arrows and found a weak spot in the defense, calling to the Freysson loyalists, “Forward lads!” Him and his brother climbed the walls, quickly followed by the force. After finding yet another way into the keep, they stormed it. A massacre ensued, where every Adunian loyalist they could find was killed, with High Keeper Grigori being rescued. Eyvind was commended for the battle, slaying many of the Adunians himself. Their swords bounced off of him, coming off with almost no injuries. With minimal Norlandic casualties, his brother retorted to him, “It’s almost as if you are made of iron.” Things then settled down from there. Life went back to normal. With that, he took his retirement and went back to the Far North. He rebuilt his cabin, only talking to his brother when he visited, and never again went back to Norland. That was, until she came. Hilda was her name. He had gone fishing, and was venturing back to his cabin when he saw her frozen in the snow. He hesitated, but brought her along. He may have been made a monster by war, but he wasn’t cold hearted. He raised her the best he could, bringing her up with knowledge of wildlife and warfare, until she remembered her name, and his face dropped. She was a Freysson. He rushed to the capital, though was panicked when he saw it in flames and dark elements roaming. He quickl;y retreated with her to the stronghold of Savoy, where she finally met her kin. It was okay again. After the Failor War, which lasted very shortly, they settled in Solheim. Everything was nice. He attended the coronation, watched her grow up into everything he had always dreamed for her. Nothing could go wrong, until everything did. An incident turned international, with the comrades of the Dwedmar turning against Norland in the blink of an eye. Eyvind knew what had to be done, thus he rallied his sword, until he fell sick for a year and a half. Upon his return, he went to attend a feast of friendship. Little did the veteran know, a joyous day would be his last. The Dwedmar showed in numbers, breaking through the gates of the High Elven city. The infrastructure was strong, but not easily changed to be defendable. The Royal Families of both Norland and Talarnor hid, as Eyvind went to stand his ground. Though when the time came, the guards of both companies fled, leaving him alone to face off against the Frostbeards. The Frostbeards were honorable, and instead of jumping him in mass, they offered an honorable duel. One versus two. Eyvind stood up, and immediately went into the fight. Sadly, his old body failed him, and he was slain by the two dwarves. One of them was honorable enough to give him a clean death, whilst the other savagely marred his body via decapitation. Thus was the end of Eyvind the Ironborn, Hero of Cartref Mor.
  11. Do you guys think that the server should use 1.8 pvp or 1.9 pvp ? Personally, I think 1.8 pvp would be a better fit for the server. 1.9 takes a decent amount of time to learn and requires consistent practice in order to stay good, which makes PvP options less accessible for the average player on the server. 1.8 requires less skill and maintenance, which allows for most people to be able to reasonably consider a PvP option when in an encounter. What do you guys think ?

A free-for-all hand-to-hand-fighting tournament taking place in the Verdant Glade's tavern where you can break noses and jaws while competing for money. 16. “Looters become looted, while time and tide make us mercenaries all.” ― Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear Ever since the forging of the first blade, the one who held all the power was the one who could swing their weapon the best. Similarly; since the stamping of the first coin, the shimmer of the golden faced currency had always drawn the lust of ambitious souls, and as such it empowered great kings and evil tyrants to enact their deeds, heroic or diabolical as they may be. Eventually, those with impressive strength of arm became highly sought after to protect such hoards of wealth… And so the mercenary was born. To be a mercenary, or an effective one at least, one must know how to put away their conscience when the job called for it. It would be unfair to call a mercenary evil, but it would be categorically false to label them a force of good either. Jobs come and go, and if a sellsword wishes to stay in the business, sometimes the grass needs to run red with the blood of those who didn’t take the contract. The Silver Hands The Silver Hands are a band of sellswords, as the name might imply. They travel the land of Almaris, looking for nations or settlements that are in need of a few strong arms for the right price. It was founded by a somewhat unknown mercenary, named André; a man of northern descent who started out with petty thievery as a child. In early adulthood, he helped the Ceru siblings found the infamous bandit gang known as The Rustlers. For years he had fought alongside them, razing cities and earning riches, stealing from the rich and the poor alike, and wreaking havoc across the land. As the years went on, André stepped down from his leadership position and took on a more casual role in the gang, but still accompanying his comrades on raids here and there. After some time however, André grew bored of his life and began looking outward. That was when he was approached by man wearing the trademark green bandanna of the legendary band of Ferrymen. Offered a spot amongst the best of the best, André joined with no hesitation. He served the band with the rank of Scalleywag for years, participating in massive battles and fighting in gigantic wars. Most notably of such was the Orenian and Urguani war, which the Ferrymen (in true mercenary fashion) changed sides twice, but eventually brought the Urguan warriors up onto the pedestal of victory. However, all things must come to an end, and the Band eventually was dismissed; Ferrymen now wander the lands, warriors of unparalleled lethality desperately attempt to reintegrate into a normal lifestyle. André however, would not stand to see his great comrades fall to mediocrity; and so born was the Silver Hands. Organization The Company is made up with a simple ranking system that allows members to contribute in whatever way they are best able to, though all Silver Hands are expected to maintain a high level of martial prowess regardless of their position. Ranks: Recruit All members wishing to join the Silver Hands start out as a recruit, and must complete a term of service at this level before they are considered to be ready to be a fully fledged Silver Hand. To rise from the level of Recruit, the member must: Challenge a current standing Silver Hand to a bare fisted fight, and perform to a satisfactory standard. Steal, or in some way generate 250 mina and present it to demonstrate their capacity to generate income for the Company. Accompany the Silver Hands on at least one raid, and make it out in one piece. Once the recruit has completed these three tasks, they will be presented with their silver gauntlet and dark grey Bandana, and shall be henceforth considered a fully fledged Silver Hand. Silver Hand The Silver Hand makes up the bulk of the Company, and are subject to a number of responsibilities - but are also granted a number of privileges. Responsibilities: Accompany their comrades on any and all raids they can. Always work to generate wealth for the Company, through either theft, money laundering, extortion, or any other creative means. Be on the lookout for potential recruits for the Company. Obey the Silver Code. Privileges: Allotted a ration of hearty meals and proper fighting equipment (PvP gear/food). Rest time with their comrades (tournaments, feasts, other fun events depending on what people want!) A keep to call your home away from home, and a place to keep your spoils!* The chance to forge your own destiny of infamy. Sergeant The secondary leaders of the Company, they oversee day to day operations and upkeep. They are expected to have better than average martial prowess, and are tasked to lead the charge in raids. A Silver Hand can rise to this rank through time in the Company, and exemplary behavior. Lieutenant The Lieutenant is the second in command of the Company, their authority second only to the Captain themself. They are expected to lead when the Captain is absent, or unable to. Should the Captain die or step down from leadership, the Lieutenant shall step in to serve as the acting captain, until the Sergeants decide who should take leadership of the Company. Captain The leader of the Company, they hold the executive authority, and answer only to the needs of the Silver Hands. The Silver Code All of the Silver Hands are expected to obey this code; upon dismissal from the company or pain of death, depending on the severity. Do not harm or betray another Silver Hand. If a dispute arises, the two Silver Hands in conflict shall settle their differences with a respectable bare knuckle fight. Trust only kin. If they are not a Silver Hand, they are against you; treat all outsiders with caution. Do not harm the innocent without due cause. We are mercenaries, not psychopaths; do not weep over shed blood, but do not slay those who need not be killed. Have the back of your fellow Silver Hands; do not allow a comrade to fall if you can do anything about it, in combat or otherwise. Always seek personal and Company wealth, for coin brings us power. The Silver Hands seek the cunning, the swift, and the strong of the land to forge their own destiny. Answer the call today… *Keep will exist once we actually have enough money to paste one in lol
  17. Rustler Retirement ↫————————————————————————————————↬ Many years ago, two young mali’ker shared a dream: a dream of enough glory and gold to earn them a rightful place in the annals of history. Such produced itself. Hundreds of raids. Hundreds of coin. Hundreds of the realm’s highest caliber of warriors united to achieve this seemingly impossible goal. Against all odds, their dream came to fruition. But as with all dreams, there must come a time to wake. As of this day, I, Elsil’Ceru, herby disband the Company of the Rustlers. May our name live on to inspire and frighten the many children of generations to come. May it frighten the minds of battleborn soldiers. May it frighten even the craven who hide in the dark. Relish in retirement, brothers and sisters. We made good coin and shared countless laughs. For that, I am forever grateful. ↫————————————————————————————————↬ Elsil’Ceru, Rustler Boss Blair ‘Mal’Ceru’ Fester, Retired Rustler Boss

  21. RECAPTURE OF THE BASTION 15th of Snow Maiden, Year 57 SA “Jesus Pablo is ballin’ out on Ferrymas” - Banjo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CduA0TULnow 1,200 Tripartite forces composed of Ferrymen and Irehearts marched on the roads towards the heart of the Imperial Capital, New Providence, to deal a devastating blow to Imperial forces. Under the command of Captain Banjo and Commander Bakir Ireheart, the small band bandited the roads of Oren until they approached the bridge, all that stood in their way of entering the city was a 1,500 force o’ wig-wearing lobsters. One could say you could hear the rattle of their metal-bucket hats as they quivered in fear at the sight of the notorious Ferrymen. The battle first started at the foot of the bridge, where both sides exchanged arrowfire. Seeing as this exchange of volleys led to a stalemate, the Ferrymen tactically led a maneuver around the bridge, flanking the Orenian forces as they were caught in utter dumbfounded surprise. Their little lasting bravery was soon replaced by cowardice as they routed back to the security of their gates- or so they thought. They stubbornly attempted to push out of their gates, but they were met with dwarven steel and Ferrymen prowess as their men were slaughtered like dogs. The Imperials were very wrong to think they were safe behind their walls and gates. A small detachment of Ferrymen consisting of Jesus Pablo, Diome Indoren, Banjo, and Mika managed to breach past their iron doors and began to take the entire force on their own. There within the gates, Jesus Pablo showed his ferociousness and prowess on the battlefield as he single handedly charged in a moment of bloodlust into a group of Orenians. His savage charge proved useful as it opened the opportunity for the rest of the Ferrymen to push through the gates and into the hearth of the city. 1,100 Imperials dead. Once more the bastion and city fell to the hands of the Ferrymen. Signed, Banjo, The Captain of the Ferrymen, Savior of the Common and Free People, Pillager of Elvenesse, Liberator of Man, The Bringer of Equality, Capturer of the Bastion, Defeater of Racism, Debearder of Grand Kings, Sailor of the Seas, 2x Mr. Almaris, Emperor of the Roads, Heir to Shipman Keep. 22. THE CITY STATE OF OREN AND ITS SURROUNDING MANORS Saint James Bleeds THE BATTLE OF NEW PROVIDENCE BRIDGE Twenty-thousand Tripartite. Seven-thousand dead. Forty-thousand Imperials. Twenty-Thousand dead. Those twenty thousand Tripartite surmounted the steps to New Providence, chins lifted to the skies and with grips of resolve to their weaponry. At the very front stood three - the commanders of the Tripartite. Captain Banjo, Diome Indoren and the Butcher of the East, Brick. Those three shared glances, for this is where their dawn had begun all those years ago - forty some. It was nearing the Saint’s year anniversary of the first bloodshed Orenia had received on Almaris. When they fought with five-thousand against sixteen-thousand, where all sixteen-thousand were slain and tasted their foremost major defeat. But a few of the old guard stood with them, yet the grumbles and chants of war still echoed from the side of the Tripartite. Against such unfavourable odds again, would they triumph once more? Any who witnessed the slaughter on the steps of Providence would answer with a resounding yes. Outnumbered two-to-one, facing a force of forty thousand Orenians, the Tripartite force valiantly charged the front gates of the city, where they exchanged numerous volleys of arrows with its defenders. After being forced to abandon their positions atop the walls by relentless arrow fire, the Orenian force consolidated and sallied out to meet the Tripartite army in battle. The first two of their charges were unsuccessful, being swiftly outmaneuvered and beaten back behind the walls of Providence. It was in the midst of these failed attempts that Diomé Indoren personally led multiple infantry charges against the enemy, ultimately leaving eight-thousand Imperials slain. To the dismay of the Tripartite commanders the third push of the Orenians found success, effectively splitting the already outnumbered force in two and crushing much of the Tripartite cavalry. Rather than capitalize on this, the Imperials saw fit to blindly chase a band of no more than four-thousand Tripartite soldiers all the way to the Urguani borderlands. These Orenians found themselves deftly evaded by the Tripartite men who managed to join the main force at (Providence Bridge) once again. Here, Auguste van Aert rallied his men and drove them against the scattered Imperials who remained, cutting down four-thousand before routing them toward Providence. As the other half of the Orenian army made their way back to the field of battle along the road from Southbridge they were harassed relentlessly by the cavalry of the Ferrymen. Seeing their weakened state the Butcher of the East led a lance charge into the Imperial cavalry, knocking most from atop their steeds and trampling them underfoot. Knowing their situation to be hopeless, the remainder of the Imperial army finally began their retreat. The Tripartite army, emboldened by their victory, gave chase as they ran for the safety of the walls of the capital. Hope was there for the assailants, seeing as the Orenians had turned charges and fought with some crumbs of honour. Yet, minutes turned into more – the Imperial State Army and those who took up arms with them had retreated into their fortifications a final time. At the climax of the battlefield, the last standing knight – Sir Mohammad Hassan – fought with Islamic fervor against Captain Banjo; he was last seen praying to Allah as a longsword impaled his midriff. (SIR MOHAMMAD HASSAN 4 LYFE)
  23. THE FATE O’ LOBSTERS “Emperor John’s Mom?” - Banjo To the General of the Imperial State Army, You would think that during times of war, external events would be well mulled over and prepared for. The people of Ephesius learned today that you are not prepared, and only willing to defend yourself internally. You are either insecure, incompetent or both. So how about you prove them all wrong? And all one-thousand of our prisoners, who were easily taken from this settlement? Meet us on the field once more, though if you are too craven, you will deliver two-thousand mina for the price of all of these captives. Just one Saint’s hour will be provided for you to bring this mina, or clash with us in battle for their lives - if not, they shall live their last minutes of life knowing that their own General cared nil for them. One victory might have urged you to thinking the tides were turned. But when tides turn, a tsunami may form. If only you could fight as well as you publish overstatements. Signed Banjo, The Captain of the Ferrymen, Savior of the Common and Free People, Pillager of Elvenesse, Liberator of Man, The Bringer of Equality, Capturer of the Bastion, Defeater of Racism, Debearder of Grand Kings, Sailor of the Seas, 2x Mr. Almaris, Emperor of the Roads, Heir to Shipman Keep.
  24. The Enemy of My Enemy Part 2/3 [!] A party of Rustlers, Ferrymen and Irehearts do good work on the roads of Oren. The sun, though beating down heat onto the land of men below, was met with a cool breeze that made for a comfortable atmosphere. The Rustlers, intending only to cripple Orenian supplies, could be found ambushing caravans and trade wagons alike as they sought refuge in the City of Burning Clocks. THUMP THUMP THUMP! The hooves of a horse echoed throughout the field only to be silenced by the driver wishing to stop and rest at a nearby tavern. A gust of wind caught hold of some brush near the side of the road, parting a few leaves and opening a line of sight. Piercing blue eyes stared through the brush, the gaze serious yet clouded with eagerness. With quick and intent movements, Elsil’Ceru sprung into action. The young elf let out a whistle, akin to that of a bird that was local to the region. The caravan looked around in a state of confusion, then interrupted as Iscesi ‘the Doorman’ leaped into action, firing an arrow into the chest of the caravan driver. With the same speed with which the Rustlers appeared, the lives of the caravan guards ended. As the Rustler band cleaned their weapons, they were set upon by a messenger loyal to their cause. The Orenians began their march. With haste, Elsil’Ceru ordered that birds be dispatched to some allies of the Urguan war effort. They set their quills to parchment and sent the messages off with haste. In a nearby forest, the elfish Ferrymen, Vydrek and Diome, walked idly by with their long time friend, Yonash. The trio strolled calmly, taking in the scenery of Orenian lands one last time before they were set to the flame, when a bird flew down and landed atop the shoulder of Vydrek. Yonash stepped forward, grasping at the bird and holding it tight as he removed the attached message. While the man silently read, the two elves readied their weapons. Between the two, they shared centuries of experience in war and knew what a bird sent from the direction of an enemy must mean. The three Ferrymen returned to their horses and made for the nearby Ferrymen camp. As the reinforcements made their way to the roads of Oren, the ISA readied themselves as well. They had received reports that their caravans were being attacked and their supply chain cut off. With their usual haste, the ISA made for the roadside tavern, mounted on the finest steeds the Empire could muster and armed to the teeth. As they arrived, they were met with the host that they sought out. A coalition of Ferryman and Rustler stood at the ready, their numbers lined across the road, ready to meet the ISA’s finest. The two sides stood at a standstill, neither making the first move, but both ready to draw first blood. Silence befell the terrain as the two small armies stood there, offering nothing in the way of words to each other. Diome eyed the mounted men of Oren, his eyes flickering between the groups as they usually did when he was formulating a strategy, when his focus was broken by a sudden shout. “Narvak oz Kjellos!” a voice shouted, booming through the fields as Bakir Ireheart charged in, mounted atop a mighty ram. Bakir swept between the two groups, his warhammer spinning wildly before he swung it at the head of an ISA recruit, his head coming clean off. With the valiant acts of Bakir, the silence was finally broken, replaced by the clashing of steel and flesh. The Ferrymen and Rustler coalition strode forth, their shields tight together as they forced the ISA back toward their hamlet. Yonash stopped as he looked about the battle field. The man watched as the Orenian troops fell to the blades of the allied forces one by one, “Diome!” he shouted toward his comrade “Press the attack! They fall to our blades!” With the rallying words of Yonash, coupled with the charge led by himself and Vydrek, the combined army of Ferryman, Rustler and Ireheart cut down the last of the sixteen ISA soldiers. Bakir turned to Elsil, offering a nod to the Rustler as he blew into his warhorn, signaling for the band to regroup on the roads. Iscesi limped from behind the treeline, wounded but not yet beaten as he returned from slaying several of the Orenian party. Diome and Vydrek returned together, supporting their comrade Yonash as he triumphantly returned to the group alive. The men, elf and dwed all looked around. Led by Bakir, they all began to chuckle lightly with relief. It was comforting to see that all twelve of their group had returned to the place that the battle began, alive and well. Diome made his way up the road, the coalition of forces bonding from the tales they had made during the battle. He found himself beside Elsil as the duo walked. “A fine show we put on didn’t we Ferryman.” said the Rustler. Diome groaned, in annoyance or pain, none could say for certain. “The enemy of my enemy, Rustler.” uttered the veteran Ferryman. 25. The Myrinian Guard 52 S.A. The Myrinian Guard is the main military force of Myrine, serving as a first defense against its enemies. The Guard serves as an important role in the upkeep of Myrine, as well as the protection of its people. Serving within the ranks of the Guard is of the most utmost honors one can receive within Myrine. Regular Ranks Initiate The beginning rank within the Guard, those who first enlist will start as Initiates. Those in the Initiate rank will learn basic combat skills and eventually go on to specialize in one style of combat. Footman The backbone of the Guard, footmen are the infantry force of the Guard. They have met the standards of which it means to be fully ranked within the Guard, excelling in both combat and battle tactics. Cavalryman On equal ranking in the hierarchy with Footmen, these are men who excel in the art of fighting on horseback. Cavalrymen are few in the guard, and only the best make it to this rank. Bowman On equal ranking in the hierarchy with Footmen, bowmen are the ranged force of the Guard. Their accuracy and precision with a bow must be pin-point. Officer Positions Captain The leader of the Myrinian Guard, second only to the Baron on the battlefield. The Captain is the highest ranking somebody can obtain in the Guard. The Captain is tasked with organizing the guard, training the lower ranks, and leading the Guard into battle. The Captain of the Guard has full authority over the Guard, and his orders must be obeyed. Armsman The lowest officer ranking of the Guard. Armsmen have proven their military prowess and their ability to lead. Armsmen are responsible for handling the Captain’s tasks when he is not present. Armsmen are entrusted to help lead the Guard alongside the Captain, and should actively work towards the betterment of Myrine and the Guard. Duties The Guard’s most important duty is to act as a defense force in times of immediate crisis. The Guard must always be ready to defend Myrine and it’s citizens from external threats. The Guard is also tasked with manning the gates and defenses, patrolling Myrine’s lands as well as the city, and guarding important figures. Trainings Basic Training Basic training applies to Initiates looking to rank up to a more specialized role within the Guard (Infantry, Cavalry, or Ranged). In this type of specific training, an initiate must train their own individual skills in fighting. These trainings are usually held on a smaller scale between an Officer and the Initiate looking to be trained. Once their skills meet Guard standards, they will be promoted to the rank that fits them. Specific Skill Training Officers can lead specific training on different skills that they deem necessary. Those who wish to excel in these particular skills, such as cavalry, bowmanship, and/or infantry, should attend these training. Group Training Rather than focusing on individual skills, these group trainings are meant to mimic real time battles, giving the guard the needed experience to respond to many of the situations they will be required to fight in. In this classic style of training, the guard will be split into the two teams, each with their own commanding officers, and will be pitted against each other in many different environments or situations. Formations Spear As the name implies, the spear is a formation which is shaped as the arrowhead of the spear. This formation is incredibly useful in charges meant to break enemy lines. Wall Used mostly to shield from ranged attacks or to display a show of power in numbers, the wall is a single filed line of soldiers. Waves The formation waves signals for Guards to create a rectangle or box. This formation is mostly used when guarding people or things of extreme importance from some type of enemy attack.
