  1. Prayer Book of St. Julia Oremus, sancta Iulia Sister Rebecca Vordenburg, SSJP 1958 Imprimatur - High Pontiff Sixtus VI - 1959 Before you would be a small book bound in thin red leather with a Lorraine’s cross painted on the cover in black ink. Tucked inside the front cover would be a small sheet of paper: “Please enjoy this breviary, courtesy of the Monastery of St. Julia of Paradisus. May it guide you in devotion to our Holy Mother Julia and to God, creator of all the World. God Bless!” Faith I AM COME, my Lord, in a ready spirit, armed with hope and with love. I look on this Mass as a happy oasis in my life, as a source of refreshment and of vigor, so that with a right heart I may resume my work; so that the burdens which, oft-times, I find beyond bearing may be lightened through Your loving kindness and Your indulgent aid. How many are the hours I spend without a thought of You, my God; forgetful even of my own soul, but in the grip of alien forces! Keep me mindful of You, and of what I am to You: for to think of one is to think of the other. I pray that these moments which are made holy by being passed in Your Presence, may be a source of faith, of fervor, and of joy. Take away from me this bitterness which throttles me, this harsh and agonizing dryness which holds me in its grip, this darksome discouragement which broods around me. Cleanse me from secret leanings to sin, from inclinations impelling me to choose what is unworthy, from all the evil that I would not and that yet I do. At the very beginning of this Mass, make me ready to be what You would have me be. Hope O GOD, my trust in You is boundless. My first word is one of entire confidence in You. I believe in You; in You do I place my trust: it is You alone who are the rock of my being and the fulcrum of my strength. And it is because I am no more in Your sight than a reed, a reed which rests in Your hands, that I know myself to be strong. Therefore am I glad, glad in you my Lord. There awaits me a renewal of my forces, in which my soul shall come to full growth. By the glad light of this confrontation with You for which I now make ready, my Lord, I beg You to lead me henceforth along the way in which I should go. Guide me by Truth, which is the right hand of Your Love. Love Munda cor. Cleanse my heart; for Your burning coal has more to do than just to make pure these my faithless lips, hitherto so ready to mouth words of anger or of folly; there are also my ears to be made pure, for they have been over willing to choose the jangling discords of the world above Your Word; they have welcomed the Lie more easily than the Truth; there are my eyes, so slow to open to the light because of their fondness for the things of darkness; there is indeed all my being which waits in need of the purifying fire of Your angel; there is my soul, my judgment, my imagination, and my sinful heart which has betrayed You. Laudate O gentle Mother, full of grace, The joy of Horen, The fairest honor of our race, More blessed than tongue can tell! All beautiful art thou, Jul’ie, In thee there is no stain, Nor grief in thy sweet company, Consoling all our pain. Delight of angels, Queen of earth, To thy poor child dost deign, To whom in sorrow didst give birth, That with thee she might reign. Pressed to thine Heart Immaculate, Her frail soul findeth rest And all its worries there doth quit, At thy maternal breast. The people thy tender arms protect, from the iniquity of Saul guided by divine architect, Iblees banished by thou casting call. To thee ’tis not too much to give All that she doth possess. To have thee truly is to live, To serve thee holiness. To all the thorns of earthly loves How dost thou, friend, compare? So pure thy gaze, thine eyes are doves, And thou a lily rare. To know herself beloved by thee Is worth more than all gold. Renouncing all, her heart is free For thee, the hundredfold. 3. CENSUS ECCLESIASTICUS AN OFFICIAL CENSUS OF THE CANONIST PRIESTHOOD 8th of Godfrey's Triumph, 1966 ISSUED BY RHOSYN CARDINAL CASICA Prelate of the Priesthood TO ALL PRIESTS OF THE HOLY MOTHER CHURCH, May God’s blessings be upon you! By the order of the Curia, we have deemed it fit and just to issue a Census Ecclesiasticus that is to be held within the ranks of the priesthood. This census shall provide valuable insight into both the future High Pontiff Caius I and to the Curia itself regarding the Church’s demographics as well as the health of our many dioceses. Furthermore, it shall also assist us in preparing and affirming a voter roll of the Church’s active and present clergy for the upcoming Synod. Please find a form attached to this missive. We request that you fill it out and tender it to the Office of the Prelate of the Priesthood at the soonest possible convenience. Thank you, and may God bless. Response forms to be filled out by clergymen of the Church would be delivered alongside them:
  4. Synod on Homophilic Matrimony Answering the Four Canonist Princes 8th of the Amber Cold, 168 S.A. Dear brothers and sisters in faith, Recently, Queen Catherine of Petra, Queen Sybille of Balian, Tar-Caraneth of Numendil and Viceroy Cesar of Hyspia published a declaration titled 'Four Canonist Princes on Marriage', which many of you will have undoubtedly read. To the relief of some and the disappointment of others, we hereby announce that the Canonist Church will not go along with the decision of these rulers. It is not their prerogative to make decisions on key elements of our faith such as which people can be joined together in the sacrament of matrimony, especially not considering that these "Four Canonist Princes" completely went behind the Church's back in this decision of theirs, save for the consultation of Monsignor Enrico Amadeus. As it stands, the Canonist Church does not condone homophilic matrimony - also known as 'same sex marriage'. It is a direct violation of Canon Law, as Book IV, Title I, Chapter 2. MATRIMONY of the Codex Iurius Canonici Danielus Pontifex clearly states: "The purpose of matrimony is the holy union of a man and a woman". This law is based in theology and scripture, and we deem Monsignor Enrico Amadeus' brief arguments in favor of homophilic matrimony to be insufficient as to argue against this law. Therefore the Four Canonist Princes are in violation of Canon Law and we would urge them to abide by God's law as interpreted and written by the church for many hundreds of years. Simultaneously we do however realize there is a strong desire among the Canonist flock to adress the topic of homophilic matrimony. We are therefore more than happy to discuss the subject, but since it is a religious affair, we do not wish it to be decided upon by secular laymen, but rather for it to be discussed in religious circles. We therefore announce that a Synod on Homophilic Matrimony is to be held within the coming years in the Synod Hall of the Holy See. This shall be the first Synod of the kind we are establishing in our rewriting of the Codex Iurius; namely a gathering of the entire priesthood to debate theology and matters of Church law. In other words, every ordained priest will be welcome and indeed urged to attend this Synod. There, this gathering of the priesthood may argue for or against the inclusion of homophilic matrimony on religious grounds based on scripture and tradition. A vote will then be held at the end of the Synod, in which the members of the priesthood will decide wether or not the Church is to allow this new kind of marriage. Granted there is a majority of the priesthood in favor of this reform, and their arguments for said reform are deemed religiously sound by us personally, Homophilic Matrimony will be legalized in Canon Law. Should there not be a majority of the priesthood in favor however, or the arguments made for such are deemed insufficient, it will be rejected. This, we find, is the proper way to effect or reject such a monumental change in the laws of our faith. In the meantime, the Holy Mother Church's official stance is that homophilic matrimony is illegal as a result of its contradiction of Canon Law. Until a decision has been made in favor of the topic by the Synod, the Church will not condone this kind of marriage, as it is currently deemed sinful, and we forbid our priests from officiating same-sex marriages. We hope that, while this may be a bitter disappointment for the supporters of the 'Four Canonist Princes on Marriage' declaration, people realize that these princes made false promises with said declaration, as they hold no authority to alter religious law, including what is and isn't allowed in terms of the Sacraments. The Synod on Homophilic Matrimony will be planned within the coming months to take place, preferably within the next two years, on a date suiting the majority of the priesthood. In the meantime we encourage debate on the topic by and between priests and laymen alike. Sincerely, His Holiness, Sixtus VI ☩ EST CYCLUS, NON MUTATIO ☩ IT IS A CYCLE, NOT CHANGE
  5. ─ The Julian Continental Pilgrimage ─ 9 / 29 Locations Visited With the goal of increasing ecumenism, peace, and faith within the Church of the Canon, the Society of St. Julia of Paradisus presents the Continental Pilgrimage. Over the next decade, all members of the society will travel the continent, moving from church, to chapel, to cathedral. We will engage with the local parish and church community, and will participate in a worship service of the particular local Rite. It is our goal to learn from and appreciate the various rites and customs of the people of Canondom. We invite all Canonists to join us on this pilgrimage. We implore that you keep in mind the local laws and customs as you do so. Our goal is not to proselytize one rite or another, but rather, explore the rich diversity and beauty of our church. ─ ─ CASICA (Albarosa) The Monastery of St. Juli’el of Paradisus - Located outside the eastern gate of the city of Vallagne of The Petra. 6. The Monastery of St. Juli’el of Paradisus — — Est. 1955, the Age of Man — — Built in the year 1930, on the request of Monk Sakuraba, the Monastery has stood the test of time. Over the years it has survived countless attacks from the undead, bandits, and orcs. Under the leadership of Sister Rebecca, a series of major renovations were completed in 1952, leaving the present structure as it is today. Although originally a quiet monastic place, fit for wine making and prayer, the current monastery is a bustling location for faith activity. Under the guidance of Cardinal Rhosyn, the Holy ground has been a place of constant teaching and guidance in the faith. With amenities such as a medical clinic, library, classroom, kitchen, laboratory, and workshop, there are countless ways for the structure to continue to serve the local parish and Canondom as a whole. The monastery’s doors are open to all who come, and tours of the grounds may also be given to those who ask. We hope to stand strong as a bulwark of faith in these trying times. A testament to the work of the Canonist faith, and that GOD has not abandoned His earthly flock. — Tempus fugit, amor manet. — The Monastery currently serves a multitude of missions: The residence of the Julians, also known as the Society of St. Julia of Paradisus. The residence of the Right Reverend, Abbess Rebecca Vordenburg, Vicar of the Diocese of Casica and Superior General of the Julians. The residence of Her Eminence, Prelate of the Clergy, Cardinal Rhosyn of Casica. The Citrine Guard

The Citrine Guard Established 1948 “As our village sports no gates so must we be its shield, As our Clergy wander the world so must we be their cloak, As undeath marches upon the land so must we be the gold that banishes evil.” Mission The mission of the Citrine Guard is to first and foremost protect our humble Lemon Hill, its denizens, and the clergy. Be the threat mortal, voidal, undead, or demonic in nature, the Citrine Guard is to stand at the ready for the Hill’s defense. We fight for no King or Kingdom, insteading wielding our blades for GOD. The Chain, the Ranks of the Citrine Guard The command of the Citrine Guard is symbolized by a simple iron chain. Each link, whether at the top or bottom, is vital to the overall structure of the organization. Whether one’s rank is that of Grandmaster, the leader of the Citrine Guard, or Recruit, Enlisted or Band of the Flaming Iris, each link must be carefully maintained. The Band of the Flaming Iris The Band of the Flaming Iris houses the knights of the Citrine Guard, men and women trained in the chivalric tradition to keep virtue and the tenants of the organization at heart. I. Grandmaster of the Flaming Iris The Grandmaster is the overall leader of the Citrine Guard, responsible for commissioning the officers of the Citrine Guard and bestowing spurs upon the worthy. The Grandmaster’s foremost duty is to Lemon Hill, protecting the demesne with their own life if necessary. When a Grandmaster dies or retires, their successor is to be chosen of the Knight-Commanders. Ser Morgan of Angren, 1948 - Present II. Knight-Commander of the Flaming Iris The Knight-Commanders serve as veteran officers of the Citrine Guard, capable of commanding both the Citrine Guard and the knights of the Flaming Iris. In the Chain of Command, they are second only to the Grandmaster. Dame Valda, 1948 - Present III. Knight of the Flaming Iris A knight of the Flaming Iris is to be a seasoned warrior trained in the chivalric tradition. They are to uphold the virtues of their rank at all times, for which they are permitted to bear a coat of arms of their own. In the Chain of Command, they are equivalent to a Man-at-Arms. Enlisted I. Sergeant, colloquially known as the “Lemon Sour” Sergeants serve to direct men in battle and maintain discipline in the ranks. They are to be proven soldiers more than capable of commanding their comrades. II. Man-at-Arms, colloquially known as the “Lemon Head” Man-at-Arms serve as the proven veterans of the Citrine Guard, capable of holding their own. May command lower ranks at the behest of a Sergeant or lack thereof. III. Militiaman, colloquially known as the “Lemon Levy” Militiamen are the backbone of the Citrine Guard, drilled and disciplined to be entrusted with the crest of Lemon Hill upon their tabard. Their purpose is to follow the orders of their Sergeant and serve as the mainline infantry of the Citrine Guard. IV. Recruit, colloquially known as the “Lemon Drop” Recruits are the initial enlisted of the Citrine Guard, to be trained and made into Militiamen within the span of a year. Billets Billets sit outside the traditional chain of command, existing as positions vital to the function and armament of the Citrine Guard. Any soldier may be assigned a billet, regardless of rank. I. Quartermaster The Quartermaster works to ensure that all men are armed, armored, and provisioned within the Citrine Guard, directing the alchemists and blacksmiths to accomplish this goal. II. Alchemist Alchemists work to ensure that alchemical supplies of the Citrine Guard are well stocked and the production of potions and elixirs. III. 8. An Occult Ritual In the Cathedral of Albarosa Blessings and peace be upon GOD's faithful, I want to sketch you a picture of what I encountered today. Early in the morning, I got up and got dressed before walking to the Cathedral of the Four Exalted nextdoor for my morning prayer. Immediatly upon entering, something struck me as... off. Usually, after one of the deacons lights all of the candles in the cathedral upon nightfall, many of these candles will still be burning in the early morning. However when I entered today at twilight, the Cathedral was unusually dark. The only candles I could spot lit, were sets of candles in the wings of the cathedral, below various icons of Saints that hang there. As I wandered over to them instinctually, they seemed perfect normal at first. Then I was dumbfounded. The icons of Saints above the candles were not depicting real Saints at all. They depicted figures by the names of 'Zeer', 'Graiyon', 'Sylvester' and 'Harman'. Not knowing quite what to think of this, I stared at them for a moment before deciding I'd deal with it after morning prayer at the altar. As I approached the altar though in the first gloom of morning light coming through the vast stained glass window, I spotted something upon the ground before the altar. Upon closer inspection I suddenly found myself standing in the midst of a large occult pentacle; a daemonic five-pointed star symbol, and what's worse it seemed to be stained onto the tiles not with chalk or paint, but with blood. The gasp I made at my discovery must've been loud enough to startle the sleeping, because suddenly I heard a soft bleating coming from the moody corner behind the baptismal font. This bleat was soon answered by responding bleating from behind the altar and the sarcophagus, as a fivesome of horned goats made their presence apparent and approached me. Curious at first, but soon stubborn and aggressive, trying to attack me by headbutting. Five goats surrounded me then, as I stood on a pentacle of blood made before the altar in a cathedral with depictions of strange 'saints'. What has happened in this Holy building, this Home of GOD? What kind of occult ritualistic practices were committed here during the night and who is responsible? I will have these strange daemonic evils, these horned animalistic servants, the fake saints and the pentacle removed and purged, sure. I will also have the cathedral re-consecrated, sure. But who did this and why? I seek answers and aid, and for this I turn to GOD's faithful flock. If you have any information regarding who might be responsible for what happened or what kind of evil sorcery is at play here, please let me or any other members of the Church know. No evil may deface the House of the Lord unpunished, so let us work together on enacting GOD's justice. By the Grace of GOD, Signed, His Eminence Father Arnaud Constantine Novellen, Pontifical Vice-Chancellor, Cardinal of the Canonist Church, Archbishop of Albarosa, Bishop of Buron, Pastor of the Crownlands.
  9. Ice on the Hill 5th of Horen’s Calling, in the year of our Lord 1945. To the Canonist Faithful, A freak winter storm has descended upon Lemon Hill, cloaking our fair grange in a sheet of ice and snow. Many of our lemon trees have been affected by this frost, it is not yet known the extent of the damage. It is expected for our harvest to be much diminished in the coming year. Strange figures and ominous whispers have been observed in the blizzard, likely the result of magi and ne'er-do-wells. Visitors should take caution and remain in the warmth of a brazier or torch. All residents are advised to wear a second layer of winter clothes, as well as to double their supply of firewood. GOD shall yet see us through this trial, for we are His faithful. IN NOMINE DEI Ser Morgan of Angren

Hear ye faithful, no more than a few days past has a giant wave washed over the city of Whitespire, flooding its streets and destroying the homes of a great many of its denizens. Thus we of Lemon Hill hereby solicit donations to aid those effected by this calamity. Please deposit all material donations upon the cart before the Monastery of the Sacred Heart. What is most needed at this time are items such as these: - Dry Clothes and Blankets, -Temporary Accommodations, such as tents, - Fresh Foodstuffs, such as Kosher Bread and Bales of Wheat, - Potable Water, - Dry Firewood and Kindling. By your contribution we hope to help our brethren in their time of need. Those who are displaced at the present time by this catastrophe can of course find shelter at Lemon Hill. Additionally, we are calling for skilled medicae to travel to Whitespire to provide aid on site. IN NOMINE DEI, Ser Morgan of Angren

  12. "Perhaps if I had more time..." A painting of Hans' loyal canine, Cardinal It is not often that life in Almaris is taken by illness nor by age, though it seems for the lineage of Alstreim one is so lucky to die a more peaceful death. His things set aside in his now abandoned room, left for his remaining family along with a more private letter. After surviving thanium poisoning and shamanic curses for much of his life, the now grown-old Hans Lorenz von Alstreim was taken without warning. Succumbing to his ailments at last, the elder Alstreim left behind the copies of a letter that upon reading seem to have been written in frustration. Perhaps, this letter is important? It sits quietly upon the ground just outside your home, drifting in the wind across the road- all reaches of the continent with scattered copies of a final message. Whether this letter was written just before his passing or some time ago remains unclear, though his signature is left emblazoned upon the bottom, signed in clarity. ((I ask now that, out of character, you do not use the contents of this letter to start any sort of villainous roleplay nor against me oocly. I have reached a point where I do not think I could stand it, and I do not want to make life any more difficult for Meleutherius. I cannot stop you, but take my request as you will.)) If you read on, it begins: Amor etiam in morte, virtus etiam in ignavia Hans Lorenz von Alstreim @Tigergiri @Ramon @LithiumSedai @Fireheart @ScoutTheWitch
  13. The Greatest Days in Adrian History LO unto the Adrians, Guide my hand, dear Muse, for the excitement of the great humor that possesses me may cause my unfiltered words to slip freely from my mind onto the parchment upon which I write! Tonight I speak of the most daring story that shall grace the history of our nation for a thousand generations- a tale of daring escape, dastardly betrayal, and the triumph of the few over the many! The day began in a church and ended in a church. One in Haense and one in Adria. One of near-defeat and one of clear victory. It was by the Pontiff’s promise of protection that our fearless Duke, good Heinrik Sarkozic, humbly ventured to the halls of the Basilica of Karosgrad, where the trial was to be held for his supposed sins. Although a mockery was made of all who hold justice and piety dear, for the presiding court cared not for the veracity of the trials, nor the Pontiff’s own consorting with the Azdrazi, all who were present knew from the start that the verdict would be rendered guilty. What came as a surprise was the Pontiff’s sentence: death for all. Never had such a thing been levied, especially not on holy ground, yet holiness was no concern for Pontian the Puppet, who bayed for the blood of Adrian women and children within the halls of his church. Thus, a plan was hatched among the crafty few of Adria. The hearty men of Adria, though numbering few, resolved to hold off the great tides of Haeseni, Aaunites, and Balianites when the call was made to kill their Duke of Adria. Though they believed they would all fall, they had a hope that their sacrifice would allow their dear Heinrik to escape to Adria and rally his host. As the tide of bloodthirsty berserkers surged forth, the brave few of Adria stepped up and drove forth. The coalition mass bent, giving enough time for the Duke, donned only in rags as he felt was fitting, to burst out the door. Hopping atop a steed prepared by a friendly city dweller, the Duke rode ahead of the chasing army, laughing and singing as he triumphantly vaulted over the walls and off to safety. As he made his great escape, the rest of the Adrians were quickly surrounded. With their valiant stand having fulfilled its purpose, and needing no reason to fight, they promptly surrendered en-masse. Sir Joseph Vasile and the von Draco family were the principal captives, and they were promptly brought to the dank, fetid cells underneath the city. For days they languished, yet over by Adria, battle had commenced… Neither the Duke nor the Coalition had idled in the days following his escape. Sounding the bells upon his return, good Heinrik rallied his forces, and the people of Velec once again took to the streets. Manning the barricades they had taken to over a year ago, the five-thousand defenders of Adria, missing their Marshal and the fierce von Dracos, sat waiting to meet the seven-thousand five-hundred assembled of Haense, Balian, and Aaun. The two armies met within the streets of the great city, and battle ensued once again for the fate of Velec. For days, the two armies bitterly fought, with soldiers from all armies battling street to street, home to home. However, despite their numbers, the civic pride and ferocity of the Adrians won the day. Routed and broken, the army of the coalition was driven from the city. They fled to their three corners of Almaris, tails between their legs, while our proud Duke stood triumphant once again. When faced honestly, might against might, and not a devilish ruse, the people of Adria would always prevail! However, my tale is not yet ended, for we must return to the fates of our prisoners in Karosgrad, not yet hearing of their comrades’ victory back home. As the brutish guards banged at the cell doors, eagerly awaiting the Adrians’ coming execution, a second great scheme was concocted among Sir Joseph, the von Dracos, and many of the friendly guards that lingered about. False chains were put on the prisoners while they were whisked out and put atop horses rode by friendly faces. Before the Haeseni guards, led by the King of Balian himself, could stop the entourage, the reins were whipped and the prisoners were rode away! Not a single one was slain or left to be captive, for all were broken out that eve. And this concludes my story of the greatest days in the history of our fair country. Two daring escapes! A holy man’s betrayal! A great triumph over the armies of three nations! It is a tale that no minstrel nor poet can concoct, and thus it is left to me to write this cautionary tale to those who wish to test the might of a united Adria, or venture to out-wit the people whose minds are clearer than a smooth crystal and sharper than a razor’s edge. It began in a church, and with God’s help ended in a church.

No shadow can hide from its illumination. Paired with Swords of GOD, anointed with holy oil. The Shield of GOD stands as a bulwark; No evil can penetrate its defense. Raised against the forces of Iblees, its holy light purges the wicked. The Host of Light serves a greater calling that transcends all temporal. You who bear the mark of the Martyr shall prioritize the Most High and His Church above all else. You are the servants of GOD and His House alone. Under the light of Virtue, you shall never falter. LUX IN TENEBRIS LUCET ET TENEBRAE EAM NON COMPREHENDERUNT.. TE DEUM. In Nomine Dei, Pontifex Maximus Tylus Secundus SECTION II - HISTORY "May Your light be brought to all the dark places of this world, and may I be prepared to defend that light when the evil or ignorant strike against it." - The Prayer of St. Nicolas The Holy Order of Knighthood that would eventually become the Order of Saint Nicolas was established within the Holy See of Vuillermoz in 1730 FA as the Palatine Guard Order of All-Saints. The Order was first led by Saint Harald Vuiller, who set forth the creeds which the Order follows today: the defense of the Church, the defense of the clergy, and the defense of Canon Law. Upon the passing of Saint Harald into the Seven Skies in 1761, the Order was turned over to his son, Johan Vuiller. The next few decades of the Order’s existence was mired in politics. The Vuillers attempted to establish the Holy See as the hereditary seat of their house, with the regency over the Order as their hereditary title. Border disagreements with the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska led to the dissolution of the Order’s home in Vuillermoz and a new home found in the Holy Palatinate of Aquila. Upon the election of Owyn III, an attempt was made to cleanse the order of these political elements. The House of Vuiller was stripped of their hereditary leadership of the Order, allowed to retain the title of Knight-Regent Emeritus, and the Order was reformed as the Supreme Order of Exalted Owyn. It would no longer be tied to House or Land, but be the protectors of the Faithful as a whole. However, this was not to be. After the Diet of Karosgrad where key leaders of the Order were martyred defending the assembled clergy, the Order devolved into a group of men using the Order to gain temporal respect as Holy Sers. These men forsook their oaths to the Church, choosing instead to follow excommunicated Canonist Princes and gain glory in temporal wars. The Order of Saint Nicolas was formed in 1868 by High Pontiff Tylos II, Holy Sir Edwin and Holy Sir August after the dissolution of the Supreme Order of Exalted Owyn. The Order absorbed the already established monastic Order of Blessed Nicolas. This holy order of knighthood is patronized by Saint Nicolas the Martyr, patron saint of armorers, loyalists, and Canon Law. In the spirit of Saint Nicolas, the Order swears loyalty to the Church alone, acting as soldiers of GOD in a Legion of Light. Though outnumbered by the forces of darkness, they know that GOD’s power is absolute, and they can weather any foe that threatens the Holy Mother Church. SECTION III - COAT OF ARMS The Coat of Arms of the Order of Saint Nicolas is a Lorraine Cross Argent. The top bar of which represents the Seven Skies, whilst the one below represents that which is temporal. The warcry of the Order takes after the old one of Saint Nicolas himself, which is 'Pro Deo, Pro Canon!' SECTION IV - ARMATURE Arms and armor for members of the Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr will be provided by the office of the Seneschal. SECTION V - MEMBERSHIP The Order of Saint Nicolas is organized with three separate branches under a singular high command. The first branch is the Legion of Light, laymen tasked with protecting the Faithful in times of need. The second branch is the Knights of the Martyr, sworn Faithful unto death with guarding the Faithful, the Holy Mother Church, and the Law of the Canon. The last branch is the Monastic House of Nicolites, martial monks and nuns that have sworn to always protect the clergy and the High Pontiff with their life. To qualify for membership in the Order, prospective applicants must: Have attained the age of majority; Have been baptized as a Canonist and practiced the faith devoutly for at least one year; Not have any public notoriety or cause for doubt of their character; Forsake all other oaths of service and loyalty, and; Be able to swear either lifetime oaths or a seven year term of service, known as a Septannum. SECTION VI - HIERARCHY AND STRUCTURE THE LEGION OF LIGHT AUXILIARY - The reservists of the Order of Saint Nicolas. They do not swear vows, but make a promise of obedience. Auxiliaries may discharge their promise at any time. Auxiliary is an appropriate rank for layman advisors and tradesmen, particularly those providing part-time medical or construction services. Auxiliaries can hold no position of leadership in the Order of Saint Nicolas. Auxiliary is the only rank appropriate for Canonist priests, who are forbidden from drawing the blood of other Canonists. ARMSMAN - The soldiers of the Legion of Light and oathed under the Oratio Fidelis. These soldiers are oathed to the Holy Mother Church for a septannum of service. These are usually younger men who cannot commit to an active lifetime of service in the field, but who are willing to aid the Holy Mother Church where she may need it. Armsmen refer to each other with the title of “Fellow.” ARMIGER - The officers of the Legion of Light, it is the Armiger who leads in and out of battle, the final stop of all enlisted before entering the fold of becoming a Knight of the Martyr. THE ARMIGER OF THE BANNER - The Armiger of the Banner is the honorary Armiger who is given the Banner of the Martyr, a high honor within the Order of Saint Nicolas the Martyr. THE SHIELD-BEARER - Bearer of the Grandmaster’s Shield, this Armiger serves as a primary bodyguard and protector to the Order’s elite. THE SWORD-BEARER - Bearer of the Grandmaster’s Sword, this Armiger serves as the Grandmaster’s champion in duels of single combat. THE NICOLITES NOVICE - Apprentice monks and nuns. They are under the care of the Abbot or Abbess and spend their time learning the ways of the order and its duties. Given they have taken no vows, they do not wear any particular uniform or emblem and are addressed by their given name. MONASTIC - Monks and nuns are the backbone of the learned institutions of the Church. The monks and nuns will be learning combat training and The Holy Scrolls. They are to also practice their hand at medicine to heal those in need and their fellow brothers and sisters after a fight. They are required to wear their uniform and emblem at all times. They are to be addressed as 'Brother' if monks and ‘Sister’ if nuns. PRIOR - The Prior, or Prioress if female, who is approved by the High Pontiff is a title given to the head of a Nicolite Order’s monastery. Priors are master theologians who train both priests, monks and nuns in ways of secular and clerical intellectual traditions. The Prior is responsible for training all new monks and teaching them combat training, medicine and botany. GRAND PRIOR - The Head Priest of the Nicolites and the appointed priest of the Church to the Order of Saint Nicolas. He is the senior advisor to the Grandmaster. It is the Grand Prior’s primary task to ensure that the Order never strays from the precepts of the Canon, keeping their eyes always fixed towards GOD and His will. THE KNIGHTS OF THE MARTYR KNIGHT OF THE MARTYR - A Knight of the Martyr is truly a fearless knight, and secure on every side, for his soul is protected by the armor of faith, just as his body is protected by the armor of steel. He is thus doubly-armed, and need fear neither demons nor men. Selected only by the High Pontiff, certain Armigers may be elevated to the rank of knight. They take lifetime oaths to the Holy Mother Church. A knight of the Order of Saint Nicolas is entitled to the title “Holy Ser” or “Holy Dame” as appropriate to their gender. The rank of Knight is permanent until death or discharge from the Order through Canon Law. EQUESTER-VENATOR - Knight of the hunt. It is he who is responsible for searching the realm for unholy monstrosities and creatures. The Equester-Venator will then command the Knights of the Martyr to quell these creatures. EQUESTER-MURUS - Knight of the wall. It is he who secures the protection of the clergy at public events and commands the Knights of the Martyr when security is needed. The Equester-Murus is also charged with organizing the advancement of engineering within the order. EQUESTER-LECTOREM - Knight of the text. It is he who garners knowledge of the realm and arranges the training of Armigers (In addition to the Armiger’s respective Knight) in terms of combat, jousting and the Holy Scrolls. EQUESTER-ARTIFICIUM - Knight of the artifact. It is he who is charged with organizing the retrieval of any lost holy relic. MASTER OF THE LEGION | MANUS DEXTRA - Commander of the Legion of Light. It is he who manages the new and old armsmen who serve as the bulk of the Order of Saint Nicolas. Alongside this, he also has the duty of managing the stores and maintaining the Order through its day-to-day trials. The right hand man of the Grandmaster. GRANDMASTER - The mandated representative of the Pontifex Maximus, who wields executive authority over all matters pertaining to the Order of Saint Nicolas until established otherwise by the Pontifex Maximus. Ex officio, he has authority over the Knights of the Martyr, the Legion of Light, the Nicolite Order and all laymen sworn in service to the Church. The Grandmaster has been granted the titles of “His Reverend Excellency the Grandmaster of the Order of Saint Nicolas, Custodian of the Faith & the Aurum Shield of Saint Nicolas.” The Grandmaster will appoint the position of Manus Dextra. It is the Manus Dextra who will be right hand man of the Grandmaster and will succeed him. SECTION VII - JURISDICTION The Order of Saint Nicolas is a Holy Order of Knighthood, created and maintained under the authority of and under the ultimate command of the High Pontiff, as set out in the Codex of Ecclesiatical Laws of the Church of the Canon, Book II, Title IV, Chapter 1. In all cases, the Order of Saint Nicolas acts as bodyguards of the priesthood and defenders of the laity. They act under the authority of the Grandmaster in all matters military and act under the authority of the Pontifical Auditor in the enforcement of Canon Law and investigations therein. Their duties are three-fold; acting foremost as the shield of the clergy, the monastic, and faithful; acting as the Legion of Light against the darkness, seeking the shadow of evil wherever it dwells, and defeating the monster, the vampire, the drakaar, the Ibleespawn, and other beings of darkness; and acting as enforcers of Canon Law, seeking out the unpenitent faithful and bringing them back into communion with the Holy Mother Church. RESISTERE TYRANNIS EST OBOEDIENTIA DEI SECTION VIII - THE ORATIO FIDELIS Upon each Septannum of Service, soldiers within the Legion of Light must swear the Oratio Fidelis in front of the Master of the Legion and their brothers: It is we who stand as guardians of the High Pontiff. It is we who shall protect the Creator's faithful from evil, whenever possible. It is we who hunt all worshippers of evil and practitioners of darkness. It is we who keep watch in the lands of God, and uphold peace and order. It is we who shall be the Vanguard of any Holy Crusades. It is we who shall carry out the sentences of those convicted of crimes against the Faith and the Holy See. It is we who shall train the citizen militia in times of need. It is we who share, with tolerance and understanding, the word of the Lord. It is we who maintain a powerful and unwavering faith in the Creator and His word. It is we who shall seek to embody Horen's Virtue and Owyn's Spirit. It is we who strive to deliver upon the faithful the embodiments of Godfrey's Gospel and Siegmund's Auspices. It is we who obey, without question, the hierarchy of the Order, and the High Pontiff. It is we who shall embrace our fellow soldiers as Brothers, and treat them as such. It is we who know that to violate the Aurum Code is to be condemned to death. If I should falter in my course, send me never to the skies above. If I should succeed, bestow unto me His blessings, forevermore. For, now I march into a valley through which there is no path. And the stones cascade behind me, to seal my retreat. Though in this valley, I find my Brothers; Now I am named Guardian of His Flock. Should I falter, my shield shall turn to ash; But I shall not falter. SECTION IX - TESTS OF HOLY KNIGHTHOOD To be chosen for Holy Knighthood by the High Pontiff is no easy endeavor, the Armiger in question having to endure multiple trials meant to test their mental and physical capabilities. The first set of trials being in the form of their Armiger Rings. After each trial and when the squire's Knight has decided they are of ample proficiency they will be rewarded with a ring. Only when an Armiger has received three of these rings will they be seen as capable enough to move on to their Knightly Quest. The rings are as follows: St. Peter of Gaekrin’s Ring (Swordsmanship) St. Daniel of Al’Khazar’s Ring (Education of the Holy Scrolls) St. Edmond of Lachsin’s Ring (Horsemanship) St. Evaristus of Paridisus’ Ring (Hunting) St. Thomas of Ager’s Ring (Smithing) After this, the Armiger will move on to his Knightly Quest. This is what the Armiger was trained for, and as such it is the final step to Holy Knighthood. It is a dangerous task that will test the Armiger’s mind and heart. Typically, the Armiger’s knight will choose a personalized quest, but some known quests given to Armigers are as follows: THE TEST OF HOREN - To speak the Creator's Will is to have a Tongue of Fire, the tongue which breaks all barriers of language and communication through His Power. The candidate must convert a heathen, one who has not had the joy to hear the Canon, and bring him fully into the fold of our community. THE TEST OF OWYN - The Creator’s Wrath brings fear and awe across the plains of existence, in every heart and mind of every being which has walked and thought. Through discipline and faith, one may acquire the Creator’s Blessing in the art of combat, to spar and wield the weapons of His Divine Will. The candidate must defeat a heretic, heathen, darkspawn, or Ibleespawn in battle. THE TEST OF GOD - The Vicar of God is the chief priest, representative of His Divine Will. Through his words mark the words of God Himself, and so the tasks delivered by him are also Divine in nature and spirit. The candidate must accomplish a task given him by His Holiness. SECTION X - OATH OF HOLY KNIGHTHOOD Armigers in the Legion of Light who have exhibited exceptional dedication or bravery may be recommended by the Grandmaster to the High Pontiff for elevation to Holy Knighthood. After a year of prayer and fasting while wearing sackcloth, the candidate’s former life and name is symbolically shed and he is reborn as a Holy Knight of GOD. At the end of the year, he is given ablution, anointed in holy oil by members of the priesthood, and draped in the black cloths of the Order. He, then, recites the following oath while kneeling in front of the High Pontiff. High Pontiff: “Here comes now, before GOD, a candidate for Holy Knighthood, anointed by holy oil. Lo now does his Vicar ask the Custodian of the Faith. Is this man worthy of this position?” Grandmaster: “He is worthy.” High Pontiff: “Who is this man before me?” The Grandmaster states the name of the candidate. High Pontiff: “Lo now witness this. In front of GOD and His Vicar, [name of candidate] is dead, his time on this earth complete. A new man standeth before the Laurel, cleansed of sin, name, and title, merely a humble servant of GOD. Does this humble servant swear to never falter, to obey and guard the laws of GOD, who is the one true creator?” Candidate: “He so swears.” High Pontiff: “Servant of GOD, speak now your oaths in front of GOD.” Candidate: “This humble servant of GOD vows to be the sword of the Church of the Canon, shield to Priesthood of GOD, and bulwark of the Faithful. He vows to fight for them when they cannot protect themselves. He vows to resist the temptations of Iblees and to strike down those who have fallen under his dark rule and other creatures of darkness. He vows to be fair and just, defending beggar and bishop alike.” High Pontiff: “Who is this man before me?” The Grandmaster states the new name of the knight. High Pontiff: “Then, rise, [name of knight], and join your brothers, taking the urn of [name of saint]. You are a Knight of the Martyr, forever changed and consecrated to GOD, sworn to the Most High and His Holy Mother Church from this breath until your last.”
  15. AN INQUIRY INTO THE FIRE OF HAVERLOCK WRITTEN BY HIS EMINENCE ALFRED CARDINAL NESCIA THE AUDITOR OF THE TRIBUNAL 2nd of Godfrey's Triumph, 1859 Dearly Beloved, It has come to the attention of the Dicastery for Canon Law and subsequently the Tribunal of our Holy Mother Church that a breach of Canon Law has been committed within the city of Haverlock. Through an investigation led by myself and Canon Adjudicators, evidence has been presented towards the ecclesiastical tribunal of both internal and external origin. This evidence, being independently investigated from one another, leads in unisom to a single conclusion: The Cathedral of Saint Alexander of Furnstock of the city of Haverlock has been set ablaze through an Orenian effort. Not only has a false piece of information regarding the incident been published, accusing an ‘old and delusional woman’ of the act, but also have eye witnesses reported the matter as portrayed by at least 1 man of orenian descent. All of this evidence, combined with the stance the Orenian Empire has taken against our Holy Mother Church, i.e. the threatening of clergy and complete disregard of Canon Law in the past, leads to the guilt for the fire to be placed upon the Empire of Oren. In Nomine Dei et Horeni, Alfred Cardinal Nescia, Auditor of the Tribunal

  17. A CALL TO REPENTANCE CONCERNING THE SCHISM "You will know him, for with peace he gathers the sons of Horen, where the sword has divided them.” (Gospel 7:53) Wherever God is there is peace. And the opposite is self-evident: where there is envy, enmity, impatience, self-love there is Iblees. Wherever Iblees be, there everything is ruinous, proud and hostile. Watch your heart during all your life. Examine it, listen to it, and see what prevents its union with the most blessed Lord. Let this be for you the science of all sciences, and with God’s help, you will easily observe what estranges you from God, and what draws you towards Him and unites you with Him. It is the evil spirit more than anything that stands between our hearts and God; he enstranges God from us by various sins, or by the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and finally worldly and spiritual pride. It seems that we do not understand one thing: it is not good when we return the love of those who love us, yet hate those who hate us. We are not on the right path if we do this. We are the sons and daughters of light and love, the sons of God, His children. As such we must have His qualities and His attributes of love, peace, and kindness towards all. Not only have you failed in this, but you have allowed yourself to be misled by a man called Christoff, formerly but a mere Bishop, who, disillusioned by spiritual pride and in complete negligence of Canon Law appointed himself High Pontiff which clearly he is not. As the Holy Scrolls say: you will know him, for with peace he gathers the sons of Horen where the sword has divided them. And so His Holiness Everard VI has done. He has gathered for himself the support of Haense, Freimark, Merryweather and Lvinsk who have recognized Christoff as a schismatic and a heretic. Christoff has been denounced and disinherited by his very own family, what says this for his legitimacy? Pay attention carefully. After the sin comes the shame; courage follows repentance. Did you pay attention? Iblees upsets the order, he gives the courage to sin and the shame to repentance. In the beginning, envy is revealed through inappropriate zeal and rivalry, and later by fervor with spite and the blaming of the one who is envied. To those schismatics who have sinned, acknowledge your sin and repent. God will forgive the sin and once again give you a new heart and a new spirit. His Holiness shall be the one to assign your penance, for repentance is the abandoning of all false paths that have been trodded by men’s feet, and men’s thoughts and desires and as such no repentance is complete without true penance. Signed, Fiodor Cardinal Allobrogum
  18. ENCYCLICAL LETTER DE NANIS AGGREDI ON DWARVEN AGGRESSION OF THE HIGH PONTIFF EVERARDUS SEXTUS Addressed to All Canonist Princes, Clergy, and Laity On Clan Ireheart and Their Transgressions Against Our Church. HIS HOLINESS EVERARD VI, High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon, Archbishop of Visigia, Successor of the High Priesthood of the Church, Supreme Pontiff of the Church of True Faith, Keeper of the Canon, Missionary to Aeldin, High Servant to the Exalted's Testaments, Humble Servant of the Faithful and Vicar of GOD. Most Beloved Brethren, Health and Pontifical Benediction. It brings Us great sorrow when any harm befalls a member of Our flock, even more so when that individual has dedicated their life in service of God. To join the clergy is a sacred calling, one given by God Himself, and brings with it great challenges in the world alongside great rewards in the Seven Skies. All clergymen carry with them an understanding that spreading the Holy Scrolls is a dangerous task, chiefly when one brings God’s message to people living in pagan lands, yet accept this risk knowing the importance of what they do, and the greater reward they shall have in the next life. None of Our flock ought to expect harm when travelling through Canonist land, walking along roads protected by Canonist men and women. We Ourselves travel with no guard when walking through the desert of Savoy, the Winterlands of Haense, or the green fields of Oren. We find that one is not required when surrounded by brothers and sisters under God. Truly, the fraternal love between Canonists has kept Us safe for Our entire Pontificate, and We expect the same for Our clergy. Yet, We were troubled to hear that members of Our clergy, including Our Cardinals, have been threatened by members of the Clan Ireheart in Urguan. These threats came to a climax four Saint’s days ago, when Our Holy Knights were forced to draw swords on two of the aggressors who had threatened men of the cloth. This incident has been denied by the aggressors, yet We have heard it from the mouths of Our Cardinals and Apostolic-General, who serve no one but God and Us as His Vicar. We stand by their words, and place Our full trust in their account. We issue this letter to condemn Clan Ireheart for their aggressions against peaceful servants of God. We remind Canonist vassals sworn to Urguan that oaths of loyalty made to pagans who attack clergymen are worthless, and free you from your shackles of subjugation. Remember that you share more in common with Canondom than you do with your dwarven overlords: faith, ancestry, blood. To all of Canondom, pray that bloodshed may be averted and that no Canonist lives may be lost, be they soldiers, farmers, or clergy. Pray that the Peace of God which We declared may continue and war be prevented. To those who would raise arms against fellow Canonists, know that eternal damnation awaits you, for you have chosen worldly desires over a shared brotherhood under God. Let all things be done for the furtherment of God's will, which is Peace, Mercy, and Love. Written in and published from the Basilica of Bl. George of Leuvaarden, given to all Our flock on the 12th of Horen’s Calling, in the year of our lord, 1849, the fourteenth of Our Pontificate. ☩AD MAIOREM DEI GLORIAM☩ FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF GOD UNITATEM IN DEO, THE VICAR OF GOD Sanctitas, Papa Everardus Sextus
  19. Cardinalis Denuntatio A Cardinal’s Announcement From the desk of His Eminence Casper, Cardinal Providentia, Prelate of The Clergy, and Metropolitan of Providence. TABLE OF CONTENTS ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ SECTION I - Greetings and Benediction SECTION II - Lifting a Curse: A Miracle ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ I Some years ago, I was elevated to the position of Metropolitan of Providentia - a position for which I am most grateful. As a token of my gratitude I wish to now hopefully strengthen the faith of the people, the faith of the Canon flock. I will publish the report of a Miracle here in this public announcement. A Miracle I myself witnessed and transcribed. I would like to bless you, people of GOD. I will publish the report of this Miracle for the sake of the faith of the people. I will bring something extraordinary to light for the sake of enlightening the Canon flock. In the next section, this Miracle will be described in detail. II The Miracle that was performed lifted a terrible course that had weighed the chest of a man for years. The Miracle cured a man and rid him of the chains of Iblees. The following events took place in the Cathedral of Providence about three years ago, and were transcribed by myself, Casper Cardinal Providentia. I entered the Cathedral one day to pray. While inside I found Holy Dame Helena Charlotte and Holy Sir Edwin in the middle of the hall, seemingly discussing something. I had just greeted them when a man, unknown to me, walked up to us. The man was cursed, he was a Vampyre. The Holy Dame proclaimed that she would attempt to lift this curse of his, be it with the help of GOD. The two approached the altar, and myself and Holy Sir Edwin had a seat at the pews to observe what would unfold. The Holy Dame produced a vial of Holy Water from her satchel and read a prayer with a hushed tone. She would then slowly turn to the cursed man, and ask him to kneel before the eyes of GOD and His Aenguls. The cursed man obediently did what he was told and kneeled before the altar. The Holy Dame proceeded to read unto him all the crimes he had committed against the faith, and all of his fallacies, asking the kneeling man if he denied what was said. The cursed man did not deny her words, and he embraced GOD’s righteous judgement. Helena Charlotte offered the man the vial and instructed him to drink its contents. He did drink the fluid within the vial, all whilst clutching onto a silver pendant with a gloved hand. And so did the Holy Dame pray unto him, whilst the forsaken man trembled in pain on the floor: “Judgeth me, O’ GOD, and discern my cause from the nation that is not Holy: deliver me from the unjust and disobedient man. For Thou art my GOD, my strength, why hast Thou cast me off? And why do I go sorrowful whilst the foe afflicteth me? Send forth Thy light and Thy truth: They hath conducted me, and brought me unto Thy Holy hill, and into Thy tabernacles. And I will go unto the altar of GOD, to GOD who giveth me joy to my youth. To Thee, O’ GOD, I will give praise upon the harp: Why art thou sad, my soul? Why does thou distress me? Hope in GOD, for I will still give praise to Him: The salvation of my will, and my GOD. “ “GOD has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good; I shall do His work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it if I do but keep His commandments. Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me. Still, He knows what He is about.” Once these words were uttered, the cursed man stood to his feet and began to transform: His fangs receded to the length they once were, his hues turning back into those of a living man, his pupils expanding to regular size and his eyes turning blue in colour. He would stand up and murmur in an incoherent manner before collapsing. The unconscious man was then brought to a bed in the Cathedral. It is now up to GOD whether he shall awake or not, but his curse has been lifted: A Miracle has been performed. Let us all remember this day, the day a Miracle was performed. Let it be a reminder that we, as children of GOD, can do wonders in this world. And let it be a ray of hope for the sick and the cursed: GOD has not forsaken you. 20. Signum Sanctae Collectio Cruces Sanctus Collection of Holy Symbols Holy Crosses Father Casper, Priest of Providentia, Canon Judge of the Tribunal There are many a Holy Symbol within The Church of The Canon, Our Holy Mother Church. In this work there will be a focus on Holy Crosses. There are different types of Holy Crosses, some are used more than others in different cultural areas and realms of the world; some crosses might only be used in specific areas, while others are used all throughout the Canon realms and nations. The purpose of the Holy Cross is written in Canon Law under Title V. Sacred Places and Objects, Chapter 9. The Cross, and is as follows: §1. The purpose of the Holy Cross is to symbolize the faith through correspondence to the cosmology of the Seven Skies, the World, and the Void. The guidelines for how a Holy Cross is formed and depicted, and how to recognize them, is also found written in Canon Law under the same Title and Chapter as above, and is as follows: §2. The form of the Holy Cross is a one-barred, two-barred, three-barred, or four-barred cross. Here will be listed the Holy Crosses that are most commonly used by the Canon flock, its Shepherds and Orders. One-Barred Holy Cross Variants The Cross of Horen This Holy Cross is among the most commonly used Holy Crosses throughout the Canon realms. The circle around the intersection of the bars represents God's oneness. It is often seen worn around the necks of clerics, but is also worn by common people of the Canon flock. The Supreme Order of Ex. Owyn uses this type of Holy Cross as well. The Teutonic Cross, The Rhodesian Cross and Owyn’s Cross These Holy Crosses are one-barred crosses, much like the regular one-barred cross, but having all bars the same length. The Teutonic Cross is often used by the Teutonic Order, The Rhodesian Cross is often used by the monastic Order of Saint Catherine, and Owyn’s Cross is often used by the Supreme Order of Ex. Owyn. Multiple-Barred Holy Cross Variants The Lorraine Cross This Holy Cross is also among the most commonly used Holy Crosses. Being two-barred it stands out from the regular one-barred crosses. The Lorraine Cross is used by many a cleric and clergyman as well as The Order of Saint Catherine. The Three-Barred Holy Cross This Holy Cross is a rather unusual one, consisting of three bars instead of the regular one or two. The Husariyan/Ruskan Cross This Holy Cross has a unique design and is mostly used by the people of the Kingdom of Haense, as well as the people of the Grand Duchy of Vasiyeva. Concluding Notes There may be Holy Crosses and Symbols not included in this work. Note that this work is a collection of the most commonly used Holy Crosses, as previously mentioned.
  21. In Charitas On Charity Written on the 12th of Malin’s Welcome, 1831 “And so I have placed into your hearts the blessings of abundance: the virtuous wealth of the spirit. And as I have given to you this blessing of My Word, you shall also give unto your fellows.” (Virtue 2:5-6) There are several virtues laid out for us in the scrolls and each and every one is worthy of mention, one that has acted as a guiding principle instructing the children of GOD to abstain from the pecuniary measures of wealth and success and instead embrace the spiritual: Charity. There are innumerable acts of spiritual charity to draw inspiration from but I would like to address those of His Holiness Daniel the Writer and James II, who through years of diligent work penned an interpretation of the scrolls for public digestion, an act I believe embodies the spirit of the scripture noted above. His virtue is abundant, sustains our spirit and is never divided but always multiplied (Virtue 2:9) and in releasing the interpretation as public resource has allowed the abundance of the Lord in the hearts and minds of his children including myself, who through use of the scripture was taught to read and write. It was said by James II (1778) “I say again to each of you that you are like unto priests! Whatever virtue you expect of your priesthood, expect it of yourself, for the world watches you just as you watch us”[1]and to be the virtue we expect of the world we must consider what acts we can take in effort to more closely follow the canticles laid before us in the scrolls. It is said in the Canticle of Temperance “For I have given to you the pleasures of the world, and they shall comfort you in the theater of virtue; And you shall take them carefully, and shall not become a creature of worldly indulgence as the beasts of the earth” (Virtue 3:7-8) and so I believe it is should be seen as a labor of love to provide that which is not needed to those who are needy in His name, for we are all in need of the word of GOD and his abundance but many have their needs for shelter, food, warmth, and security met in abundance and should take them carefully as not to indulge. Jude II when addressing a query as to the church’s place in war said: “We say firstly that God is many things; God is Love, as is the motto of High Pontiff Everard V and so too is He Mercy, as He is the Most Merciful.”[2] And just as God sees fit to show us mercy with that which He has in abundance: Virtue, so too should we seek to act upon that love and in His name give unto others. In the letter mentioned prior Jude II also said “it is we ordained men who will serve in other ways” and just as ordained men shall serve so too should all men for we are like unto priests. WE should serve the Lord as His will is perfect, we should seek to follow His virtue of charity, we should do so in fidelity to Him and his children by practicing temperance and seeking with patience and diligence to live in humility, having faith that our Lord shall provide both to us and through us and casting aside that which we would indulge in to more needy mouths, hearts, and minds. God is Love and Charity, to toil tirelessly in the name of Love and Charity is to toil tirelessly in the name of God; there is no shame in humbling oneself to work in the fields, to pawn away ornate treasures to feed your brother so that he may be as blessed as you, to shed excess in the name of giving for It was God's will that he should give unto us the world, The word, the virtue, the Seven Skies, and all things good and true and there is no shame in trying to work in the name of God’s will. Across Providence bells ring, the call to arms sounding loud as the Supreme Order of Exalted Owyn readied their weapons. Criers would shout on the streets, demanding justice. Soon, a letter would be sent out to the various Armigers and Equesters within the order, as well as several other Canonists; reading the following: “To those honorable, to those that are Canonist and those with a soul in their hearts: A beast of Iblees has attacked Providence; shooting a child, one Helena Charlotte Helvets-Rochefort in the chest with a poisoned crossbow bolt, among other casualties. This evil beast, of which appeared to be male and donning blackened plate, a visored helm and razor-sharp teeth, has attacked canonists and the innocent. Another figure, a lightly armored mirror of the Iblees beast, was seen casting lightning to it, of which weakened it greatly. The call for protection has come. Knights of the Order, your oath states the following: ‘I vow to be the sword and shield of the Church of the Canon and her faithful’ Come now, brothers, take up your arms, sound the call for manhunt. I am but a Squire, and I do not act to order you. Instead, heed the words of Apostolic General Sir Armand de Rennes; of whom wrote to me: ‘Do as you will. You've my blessing, and by God hopefully my sword as well. I'll join the effort once it's underway.’ To those unsworn to the Church, but wish to offer their information on this individual, send a bird to one Armiger Edwin Henry de Sarkozy(Guzr#2543), and you will be compensated for such. To those that would raise their blade in support of this justice, send a bird to one Armiger Edwin Henry de Sarkozy(Guzr#2543). In the name of all that is righteous, in the name of all that is holy, let us catch this demon and deliver unto it GOD’s will. 23. A Call for Ecclestical Trial Issued by the Auditor of the Tribunal. Johan “Horens Giant” Vullier Table of context. THE OFFENDERS CALLED FOR TRIAL. THE EVIDENCE. THE WITNESS LIST. THE JURY THE CRIMES. THE OFFENDERS CALLED FOR TRIAL. The organization known as the Ferrymen. Reasoning : I. During the assassination of his Holiness High Pontiff Jude II, Two members of the Ferrymen organization where found with their blades drawn surrounding the body of Jude II and the body of another member of the clergy. One of these men where quickly struck down by members of the Imperial State Army as well as the Ministry of Justice. Sadly one wearing the armor of the organization was able to escape the city. II. During the battle of Northguard thousands of Imperial witnesses could see the organization known as the Ferrymen fighting on the side of the heathen armies of Norland. This furthering the assumption that they in fact work for the heathen army. THE EVIDENCE During the Tribunal investigation dubbed “The Dove has fallen” we have gathered evidence from multiple sources. Not only witnesses of the crime itself, but other witnesses who saw one of the men behind the murder of High Pontiff Jude II while escaping the city of Providence while being ran after by multiple guards. The Tribunal has also been getting numerous reports of the criminal activities of the organization in question as well as one of them seeming to try and spy on the Imperial Household and staff. Its with these reports and accusations as well as the murder of his Holiness Jude II and their partaking in the ongoing war against the heathens hordes of Norland that the Tribunal had decided that enough evidence is gathered to call for an Trial of the whole organization known as the Ferrymen. THE WITNESS LIST. Due to the nature of the organization called to trial the names of the witnesses shall not be published. This to ensure their and their families safety. We know from experience and sources that the organization known as the Ferrymen do not take into consideration if they have to strike down a man, woman nor child if they gain from it. Thus it would be a crime against Godan if we where to put these witnesses and their loved ones in danger. THE JURY The jury itself shall consist of the members of the Tribunal offices and their Cardinal Judges. it will be under the command and word of the Auditor of the Tribunal and his word shall be final and absolute. In the case of a missing member of the Tribunal, the Auditor can see it to elect someone who steps into the role of that missing role or holds the position abstained. THE CRIMES On the day of first amber cold a horrid and blasphemous crime was committed within the cathedral of the Ex Godfrey. Not only was this crime against Imperial Law, but a crime against our faith, a crime against Him, the one true Creator. During the General Audience held by his Holiness Jude II. our Vicar of God, a General Audience that ended up as his last public Audience before his Holiness was brutally murdered during the time he was taking the confessions of our noble canonist flock. This is a crime that there is no turning back from, a crime against the Canonist flock as a whole and each and every person, nation or organization who calls themselves Canonist or believes in Him. Not only where our beloved High Pontiff Jude II murdered in cold blood, His body has also been stolen after the murder. The bodies of the Vicar of God do not belong in some ditch, nor as a trophy for those who have committed the crime. He belongs with the church, in the halls of those who came before him. where he shall lay at peace until the seven skies shall come from all of us. The fact of his body being stolen will forever be seen as one of the worst cases of theft in the History of our Holy Mother Church, a crime that will not be forgotten nor forgiven. The crimes committed go as follows.. TITLE III. Crimes against ecclesiastical authorities. §1 A person using excessive physical force against the Pontiff incurs excommunication. Members of the clergy may incur greater penalties depending on the severity of the crime. §2 A person who further uses excessive force against a bishop or cardinal are to face a just penalty as decided by an ecclesiastical court. §4 A person joining a group plotting against the church are to face a just penalty as decided by an ecclesiastical court. §9 Those who see it fit to insult or threaten a member of the clergy. These individuals are guilty of the crime of indignity. Let it be known that if the Organization does not show to this trial they will by default be punished with the worst punishment that the Holy Mother Church can grant. That of being declared excommunicate and anathema. SIT PERDUCAT NOS PATRIS LAPIS, AMEN. "May the stone father guide us, Amen" Johan Vuiller “Horens Giant” Head of House Vuiller, Auditor of the Tribunal. Knight-Regent Emeritus. Knight of the Black Sepulchre. Protector of the Church of the Canon and her faithful The Trial shall find place on the 1st of Horens folly within the Imperial City of Providence. [THIS SATURDAY 5.06.2021 TIME: 5:30PM EST]
  24. THE DRAGON WITHIN US A (fictional) depiction of St. Horen and the Iblees at battle An Acolyte’s Thesis on; CANONISM BY THE SWORD Scribed by; Acolyte Rodryk Procured by; Cardinal Albarosa @Julio ツ Published on the 13th of the Grand Harvest, 18 FROM THE PRINCELY-ARCHDIOCESE OF ALBAROSA THE DRAGON WITHIN US - We must ask ourselves.. How does one define ‘The Dragon Within Us’.. and what exactly is the Dragon, and of course, how does it correlate to inciting our Faith through the sword. To begin, compel yourselves to drop your attention toward this document and, look into your heart, your mind, and your soul.. What do you see? What memories and thoughts conjure up and come to mind when you look into your heart? Well, to the average reader, one might dig up memories from childhood, when they did not have responsibility or outside influenced stress, and simply lived a joyous life, a pure life. Now, to others, one might look back to the sins they have committed.. Perhaps the reader cursed out their mother, putting a hand in the till.. Or even indulging in hatred toward another for they have offended their proud morality. The ladder half of the previous statement as mentioned above is the very snout of the dragon that lies within our souls.. Sins and temptation sown into the hearts of the Children of Horen by the Iblees all those millenia ago.. That is the dragon. The dragon sits in a cave, just as the dragon sits in our hearts.. As good Canonists we must pursue the light given to us by the aengul instead of the temptations of the Ibless.. Although, the wicked, the misguided, the evil have fallen through.. Indulging in sin. If a good Canonist does not follow the path of the Sainthood, abiding by good moral and benediction.. May their soul be blessed for only the reward of the Seven skies awaits them.. However- those on the path of sin and lust, following their forefathers such as Krug or the Ibless.. Their lives will only become a visible nightmare to both the soul and body, this is why the good Canonist must remind themselves of higher authority brought to our brethren by the descendants of Horen. Do not be fouled by the Dragon. The Dragon has the head and neck of a snake, deceitful and devious, slithering in the shadows just as the Iblees deceived Horen, do not let the eyes of the beast lead you into a life of trickery. The Dragon has the belly of a Toad, lustful and sluggish, do not let the beast drive your soul into a life of carnal desire just as the Ibless did to Malin. The Dragon has the legs of a pig, indulging and rapacious.. Do not let the beast drive you into a path of the seeking of clenching the endless hunger for greed and gold, just as the Ibless did to Urguan. And finally, the Dragon has the wings of a Daemon.. The wing is comparable to that of an aengul however it is corrupted and deformed.. A man may pray for wings although the only wings he will be given are those of a Daemon.. Not flying up into the skies but rather, deep, deep into the depths of the Iblees. As said within Wagnar’s Hymns as Prayers for the Canon, may we dedicate this moment to those of whom sought refuge in the Dragon’s cave, for they have sinned, reciting the Prayer for redemption, remembering the sacrifices our Mother of Mercy have incited toward the Descendants of Horen. Our Father, King of all, please lead us away from temptation, and lead us towards Your eternal salvation. We beg that You allow us into Your embracing arms Lord, regardless of the struggles we must go through to be there. In nomine Patris, amen. And so, this begs the question - how does the defiance of evil and the temptations of the Iblees correlate to spreading the Faith of Canon by the Sword? The answer is simple, there are many of whom follow the path of Sin, denouncing God and the scriptures of Horen’s pious descendants in exchange for the perceived riches and desires of whom the Dragon ever so more tempts our brethren. It is in the Church of Canon’s best intention to correct those misguided in both faith and moral through frequent recitings of the Holy Scrolls as instructed by the crowned in the Seven Skies, although - when the misguided do not accept the true faith and rather dwell in the Dragon’s cave willingly, in denial of God.. those devout and zealous have a single option - using the blade. The Aenguls have gifted the descendants of Horen to be strong in mind and sword, with that our zealous canonist brethren must drive the dragon into recoiling in its own evil, cleansing the world of Iblees spawn if they do not submit to the will of God. In comparison to the widely accepted Canonist sects of today such as Augurism, to put the passion of St. Julai into the sword and will of our God is one of the most honorable acts a man of faith can pursue in times of threat. Thus, it is the will of the zealot children of Horen to deny the temptations of the misguided, for the Dragon does not only dwell in a cave, rather, the Iblees can corrupt in our hearts, and the wicked can very well be among us, as Children of Horen we must take to the sword and defend the light of our blessed Lord.
  25. In patientia On Patience 10th of Snow’s Maiden, 1816 Patience is a virtue among the hardest to fully accept, yet it is of utmost importance that we do. Commonly, this is due to the hard trials we are put through by the Lord -- this can confuse some; why would He, who can do so much good, put us through trials where we suffer? It is to strengthen the faithful, to harden us in our faith. Although guidance can be necessary in order to achieve this strengthening, it is one’s own mind that has to be open in order for the strengthening to take place. As written in The Canticle of Patience within The Scroll of Virtue: “7 For I have given you the pains of the world, and I have given you their cure. 8 And you shall know the trials of this theater of virtue, and know that they shall strengthen you.” It may seem hard to keep one’s patience when we are put through the Holy trials, but it is necessary in order to remain true in faith and on the righteous path. The moment one loses their patience, one is set on a dark path towards wrath and envy. The sinful path is not for any faithful Canonist to take, as it brings you further from the Seven Skies. “9 So I am the Most High, and in pursuit of My Virtue, I bid my faithful this: You shall not raise a hand in wrath, nor in envy, nor in any kind of sin.” The Holy trials were instituted to remind us of our humanity, and to remind us of the salvation that awaits us in the Seven Skies where all pain and suffering is replaced by endless joy. God brought upon us all the struggles, but also all the remedies. It is up to us faithful to use our own faith in Him to tackle the struggles -- for the remedy is never far away. Persist in the trials you are set through by Him, and you shall find your faith and soul strengthened. Persist in your faith, and you shall find yourself in the Seven Skies where we all aspire to be.
