  1. TO THE MEN IN GREEN Issued at Year 136 of the Second Age Earlier on this day two men, one in green and golden robes entered Lurin as our gates are always open during times of peace, however, this trust has been abused by these two individuals who witnesses have claimed to have set our tree on fire sprinting far into the city and probably through the canals before aid could be called for. As Lurin is a forgiving State, these two individuals shall be only punished for the crimes they have commited according to the Codex of Lurin within our territories, willing or not. - Attempted Murder, a Class B Crime -> Putting Lurin citizens in danger - Grand Vandalism, a Class A Crime -> Burning the Tree Leading up to a fine of 1500 mina per person present or the alternatives: - Execution of All - 2150 mina worth of labor or goods per person - Banishment and loss of both eyes, two limbs or the tongue May this be done peacefully and swiftly without escalation, you have one Eshtael Week to respond or we'll send the Brotherhood after you. Eternal We Stand, Eshtael Keeps Balance. Signed,
  2. The Daily LUBBA Love is in the air. . . The Daily Lubba is proud to announce a new addition to the Lurin event calendar. . . The Search for The Lubba’s Love! . . . A search for the true love of this season’s Lubba, the Silver Lubba himself; Mika Anarion! There will be games, festivals, galas, competitions, and more throughout the search, so whether you are watching or taking part it is sure to be the spectacle of a lifetime. Those interested in partaking in the search as a potential love, please send us a reply via bird, or pin a note beneath the news board. To apply, you must be at least 70 years old, biologically female, and elven in order to fit our Lubba’s preferred qualities in a partner. Though all are invited to attend and partake, the committee of this event would like to extend an invitation to the following; Renae Athri'onn, Lhoris Izalith, Penelope ‘Penny’ Clover, and Dame Viktoriya. A bit about the man. . . Mika Anarion enjoys hunting down spooks, fighting in most conflicts, and teaching. A caring individual, Mika’s first priority is always Lurin and his family, doing whatever he can for them. To quote the man himself, “quality time is everything.” This segment was brought to you by Scrisa Anarion. The Law keepers of Lurin With Lurin growing rapidly, numerous threats have made their way behind the city walls - cruel individuals that torture and slaughter common folk, thieves that wish to strip everyone of their belongings, practitioners of twisted arts, and the vile offsprings of the dark. It becomes clearer by the day the importance of our city’s military. Maintaining peace is just one of the many duties our guards take on, for they must train not only the body but the mind, too. A sharp mind is required to deal with criminals, even more so when dealing with darkspawn. And yet, this is only a taste of what the Centurions do. They work tirelessly to keep our people safe, putting their own lives at risk for the greater good. The state recognizes the importance of our guard, and so no matter the rank, they are rewarded for their service. The most common being payment in mina, handed out mali-weekly. All an aspiring Centurion must do is seek out an Officer or captain. Upon proving themselves true to the cause, they shall receive their uniform. Then, the training towards greatness begins. The Silver Ladybug The academy, the guards, the workforce - these are just some of the divisions within Lurin, each of them having something in common. People. No matter the area of expertise, no mortal is able to work relentlessly. Labor in any form- whether of the mind, or muscle - will lead to exhaustion. And thus, a comfortable place to assist with such is formed. A tavern, a known source of activity and comfort. Ours stands just near the gates, stocked with drinks and food for all! Of course, a tavern isn’t just a place to gorge on food, it’s also a place for fun. The livid events hosted there must tug the weary folk out from their misery, and our tavern is sure to do just that. Some of such events include fun games, friendly competitions, nights of free drinks, storytelling, and more! But alas, woe has befallen our tavern, The Silver Ladybug, for the previous owner has retired from leadership. Due to such, many new tavern keepers have been hired. Furthermore, the mantle of tavern owner is open for a promising individual to take up! If you are interested in working in or leading The Silver Ladybug, reach out to Scribe! (or Mika) We hope to see you there! Are you gay? Take this quiz to find out! Scrisa here again. A concerning amount of people, of which I will not call out names, have been questioning their sexuality in my presence, a few even going as far and asking me ‘how to gay.’ In light of such incidents, I, a lesbian, have put together a small questionare to solve the age-long question that is, Am I gay? Enjoy. (don’t take this seriously, it's mostly jokes) Are you gay? I’m not gay! I’m straight! I’m 100% straight! Absolutely, this is just for fun. Probably not. That’s why I’m taking this quiz. Opinion on math. My brain rejects it. I’m too gay for it. It's alright I guess. Depends honestly. How often do you say the word ‘slay’? I strictly avoid using that word. Literally all the time. Slay. I usually don’t, unless as a joke. I must add this to my vocabulary. Pick a color. Lilac. Is yes an answer? Blue Hmm. . . green? How fast is your usual walking speed? Very fast Depends if I’ve had my coffee Medium Pretty fast. My friends lag behind me Opinion on cowboy hats and boots. Love them, 100%. Stylish as hell . . . Ew Eh. A little tacky Not my thing. If you answered mostly 1, how’s that internalized homophobia going? If you answered mostly 2, you’re very gay but you already knew that. If you answered mostly 3, you’re most likely straight, or aromantic/asexual. If you answered mostly 4, you’re most likely on the spectrum. Welcome to the cult that is being gay. If you answered a mix of all, then you’re probably bisexual. Don’t be a dumbass and get mad over a stupid quiz in a newspaper. If this makes you angry, you probably answered all 1s. This is just for fun, don’t be dramatic. Don’t rain on our gay parade. This segment was brought to you by Scrisa Anarion. A VILLAIN VANQUISHED. . . Or just misunderstood? Recent events have brought to light the dark secrets behind a certain Csayhn’s false visage. A dark magic user, a villain. . . and beloved partner of Alucard Anarion, the adopted son of Mika Anarion himself? We at the Croaking decided to dive deeper into this story. An anonymous informant tells a story that isn’t so black and white after all. According to our crow, Csayhn fell victim to suicide as a result of mass persecution upon the accusation of being a dark mage. Despite having submitted to multiple darkspawn tests, Rina D’Avre and Mika Anarion, alongside the atronachs of Lurin, hunted the man down until he was driven to suicide. But where did these accusations come from anyway? After all, every rumor stems from some semblance of truth. The crow tells us that Csayhn had in fact been victim to a darkspawn attack, which fueled the accusations and false- hoods laid upon the poor man. And still the plot thickens, as others tell a very different tale. One individual testifies witnessing Rina D’Avre’s neck be near slit open by Csayhn, and another bears witness to the dark arts performed by the man. Though the many accounts come together for a very confusing timeline, the croaking offers condolences to all affected by the man’s death. Whether he was a good man, a bad one, or somewhere in between- Crows will mourn for their friends. Let us know your thoughts on the matter! Anything else we should know? Is there anything you believe should be covered in the next release? Whether it be a confession, piece of gossip, or upcoming event, just let us know and we’ll consider putting it in the next release. Until next time,
  3. The Silver Lubba Band 12th of The Grand Harvest,Year 27 of the second age (For The Glory of The Eternal Silver Lubba) Tensions rise and fall, but even in times of peace, there are battles to be fought. With this mindset and a recent acquisition of spare land and time, The Silver Lubba Band has been made to help quench this demand for soldiers with a right price. Raiders, slavers, bandits, and simple brigands roam the realm all night and day making our roads unsafe and take wealth within minutes that could have taken them years to acquire. Unfair and dishonorable as it is to rid an innocent citizen of their goods, we seek to return the favor and take what has been taken. (The Silver Lubba Band marching to their next contract) (FLAPTRAPS ART. BY RICHARD ANDERSON) Chain of command: With the company still being relatively new, the structure must be simple yet effective. Taking some cultural aspects of Old-Sutican life, this band of mercenaries found its structure and titles fitting for the job of protection and honor among each other. The Silver Lubba The Silver Lubba is the leader of the Silver Lubba Band, making deals and contracts with whoever requests them for a reasonable sum of wealth. Often found to don a grand suit of armour decorated to establish their presence among peers. Eternals Eternals are the highest rank you can achieve within the band, often found to be excellently trained and often assigned to special missions that could earn them a good wage. These members are often seen stepping in for The Silver Lubba as commanders or representatives of the band to complete a deal. The Eternals are often found wearing a set of full plate armour with the respective decorations they have earned through their service to the band. Titans Titans are the experienced members of the band, easily distinguished with a full set of plate and a more heavy-duty weapon to finish their missions successfully. These members are granted some major bonuses such as access to storage and more restricted areas in the location the band is garrisoned. Bondsmen Bondsmen are the lifeblood of the band, having sworn the oath and finding themselves to wield their weapon of choice proficient enough to matter in battle they stride forth to fulfill their duties within the band. They are often given a variety of tasks, ranging from protecting roads to staying garrisoned within a city to protect the citizens inside or even fight in a grand war if the contract calls for such. Novices Novices are new members of the band, often seen to do the smaller tasks or walk along with the bondsmen to learn the ropes of how it all goes down. These members usually require training with their weapon and the mindset of being a bondsman, though they are still given jobs and light armour to fit in with their peers. Novices are allowed to be assigned to higher-ranking members of the band to lead them through daily life, making sure they earn their experience that way before they are recommended for promotion to Bondsman and to cite their oath. (Two Titans of the Silver Lubba Band patrolling the mountains of the main continent) (The mountain pass by Sina Hayati) General Ideals: The foundations of the Silver Lubba band are depicted here, violation of these rather basic but essential ideals could mean the removal of a member. Trust Trust is valued above any coin, Trust is what makes one reliable and ready to take on the world before them. This essential aspect of the Silver Lubba Band is presented as something that needs to be built up again with every new novice entering, ensuring their dedication and the building of friendships within the band to keep ourselves entertained. Trust is the foundation we all must acknowledge as everything is built on it. Profit The band is here to turn a profit for everyone in it, depending on individual contribution to the band they shall be rewarded accordingly upon finishing a job or taking care of a group of bandits on the road. While minas are relatively useless in today’s realms and the resources have become a bit more scarce than previous realms, profit is always put back into the band, its equipment, and its garrison site. Honor Honor is prevalent in many cultures, but often found lacking among peers, which is why honor is valued highly among bondsmen and higher-ranking officials to ensure a fair system among themselves and their potential contractors. This means that the Silver Lubba Band will not aid in raids and surprise attacks on citizenry or at least make an attempt at excluding citizenry from touching their weapons of choice. Tolerance Tolerance is a necessary aspect of the band as tolerance, in this case, is the acceptance of other cultures and faiths to unite under one banner as a band to allow for diversity in tactics and methods. Tolerance is also practiced as self-restraint, making sure words won’t reach us as well as minor actions, acting righteous rather than tyrannical among peers. The clear exception to this is violence exerted upon you or actions with malicious intent. Discipline A band of mercenaries can not exist if the band is merely affiliated with each other loosely, making communication and general efficiency a priority in the band. Those who are trained properly have allowed themselves to be trained properly with the discipline they hold and build experience from there to develop their own style. Failure to uphold discipline often puts you at odds with the world which you can not win and results in the judgement of the higher officials of the Silver Lubba Band. (A Novice being accepted into the bondsmen of the Silver Lubba Band by an Eternal) (Illustration by Mohawk Games) Band Contracts: Due to the rather fast pace of the Silver Lubba Band, it is necessary to keep up contracts for every job that they are being hired for with a time limit before it has to be renewed depending on the job provided. Every contract is honored and only one contract can be issued at a time to avoid confusion among bondsmen. Contracts provided by the Silver Lubba Band are limited, though can be negotiated with the right price. Road protection contracts A rather simple and to-the-point contract. A road protection contract includes the Silver Lubba Company to set up a temporary camp near a road from where they head out and patrol the roads from any malicious activities they spot. A list needs to be provided with members included that are considered malicious towards the contractee. These types of contracts are often short in duration and don’t require much payment. Garrison contracts Garrison contracts are similar to road protection contracts, though these contracts are for patrolling cities and settlements, defending them at any cost from raids, slavers, and malicious actions posed by the people inside. A list is to be provided to avoid confusion on what is allowed and what isn’t within the garrison. These contracts are often long in nature as supply would be little to no issue at all. Reinforcement contracts A reinforcement contract is as it sounds, it bolsters a group temporarily to complete tasks and aid them in their missions. The mission must be clarified beforehand and deemed ethical before this contract will be signed by the Silver Lubba band. This type of contract allows for assistance in a ‘raid’, though the bondsmen will only assist with taking on soldiers and those arming themselves to threaten the lives of the band and contractors. These contracts last for only one instance at a time or a duration of time, which is to be negotiated. Bodyguard contracts Bodyguard contracts are rather simple in nature. The Silver Lubba Band sets out with a small detachment or a large one depending on the severity of danger that this mission could pose. These types of contracts are often only for one mission or a duration of time and could be costly. Training contracts The Silver Lubba Band is able to teach soldiers, recruits, and levies to match with our bondsmen. This could be in combat, medical expertise, tracking, hunting, discipline, or general survival tactics around the world. These types of contracts are separated into two contracts: ‘Theory’ and ‘practice’ for each topic of training provided with ‘theory’ being less expensive to organize and hire and ‘practice’ often requiring more effort on the band’s end and resources thus more expensive for a contract. Duration and instances are negotiated at the creation of this contract. Skirmish contracts Much like the reinforcement contract, these types of contracts are a one-time thing and often used during wartime to gain an edge in rallies to march to victory. These contracts include a majority of the Silver Lubba Band to rally and reinforce for a single skirmish at a time before the contract needs to be renewed or upgraded to a war contract. War contracts A war contract is the most expensive, though also the one contract which requires the Silver Lubba Band’s full attention to aid in war as a faction of its own. Contracts like these are often structured on what the band rallies and what needs to be done in the war to see it to its completion and get paid per battle aside from the initial fee that pulls the band into this war. Retrieval contracts Retrieval contracts are often the hardest to complete successfully, though the Silver Lubba Company is willing to assist with retrieving a captured citizen or important figurehead. These contracts are often considered a standard and a clear list of what is allowed to be done and what isn’t needs to be provided. These contracts are a one-time use before they require renewal. Custom contracts Custom contracts are contracts that are not provided in the list stated here, often for more specialized missions and found to be a bit above the average asking price as these contracts aren’t the Silver Lubba Band’s expertise. Contracts like these vary greatly in duration and purpose, meaning all specific needs need to be stated within the contract. Custom contracts are often kept hidden away by the administration of the band to avoid discovery of its existence. OOC:
