  1. DENUNCIATION OF THE PALADIN HERETICS A missive on the disgraceful and vile acts committed by Xan’s Cultists ISSUED ON THE 5th of Snow’s Maiden, 513 E.S. VA BIRODEO HERZENAV AG EDLERVIK, This missive serves as a public denunciation of the Paladins who claim the moral high ground, whilst condoning heresy and harm towards the innocent. A few months ago, within the city of magic, Hohkmat, my dear aunt Lady Eadywnn Godunov was paying a visit to her longtime friend, and former Mistress of the Abstract, Lady-Magister Laurissa. The two formed a solid friendship during the Lady-Magister’s time serving the Kingdom of Haense, and with my aunt going through a difficult pregnancy, she sought comfort in those close to her. It was during her visit that the Paladin Elena, now the divorced wife of Lady-Magister Laurissa, attempted to take the life of Lady Eadywnn Godunov, my aunt and a Lady of Haense. The paladin spouted false claims of darkspawn - Yet provided not a single ounce of evidence nor truth to back up those lies. She was luckily stopped by the citizens of Hohkmat and the Lady-Magister, but only time will tell what harmful effects her actions will have had upon the unborn child my aunt carries. Many in Haense know of this Paladin - Many outside of Haense know that this Paladin has falsely accused others of being the spawns of Iblees before. Even more will recall that time and time again, she has based her criteria upon looks alone and sought to take a life, without bringing forth any valid reasoning nor concern. My aunt suffers from Albinism, possessing pale hair and even paler skin, but this does not in ANY way justify her MURDER. And if this vile act alone was not enough - Merely a week ago I had been within the merchant city of Kaethul, located in Haelun’orian lands, speaking with the High Steward Lady Ar-Malna. A child had approached us, afraid and hurt, claiming that Caelians had randomly subjected her to a darkspawn test, without explaining what that was nor why she was to be grabbed from the roads and forced to shed blood. Myself and Lady Ar-Malna trekked over to the Caelian border, standing atop the bridge into their lands, and witnessed a checkpoint created by the Brutes, formed in order to test every single person who wished to enter their lands. We kindly asked that they stop - All true Canonists will know that to needlessly shed blood is a SIN, and the insult of being wrongly accused of being a Darkspawn is a heavy one. As our debate began however, two Paladins, Elena and Aeolus, rode up behind us and publicly announced their support for the acts of the Caelians. They dared to tell me my faith was wrong, and when I recited the words of our Lord Palatine, the Faithful Patriarch Josef, they had the audacity to scoff and claim Haense corrupt, faithless, and overtaken by the darkness of Iblees. That insult alone warrants the attention of the Haeseni People, for we are the Bastion of the Canonist Faith - The Ever-beating Heart of Canondom. Our King is Righteous. Our Peace is Just. Our Faith is uncorrupted. But mocking our Kingdom and Beliefs was not enough for the Paladins of Xan. They then demanded that I, Baron Anatoliy Godunov, was to be darkspawn tested. It is known that I have not always been the most public in my worship to our Lord - But to demand that I shed my blood, Haeseni blood, merely for the sake of their own curiosity? I refused. The moment I did, the Paladins drew forth their weapons and clearly stated their intent to kill me, then and there. Their horses blocked the bridge, sealing my escape, and the Caelians too began drawing weapons on me. Faced with little other choice, I allowed myself to be tested - Which proved my innocence as a mere Faithful Descendent of Godan - and was only then allowed to go free. The Paladins have thus not only attempted to take the life of my Aunt, but readied themselves to take my own life, aiding heretics in spilling my blood without any just cause nor reason. House GODUNOV thus denounces the Cultists of Xan, worshippers of an Aengul that they believe to be a GOD. I remind the people of Haense - There is only ONE GOD. We refuse any and all aid towards these bloodthirsty heretics, and implore the other Houses of Haense to do the same. Our Great Kingdom has no place for those who mock us - Threaten our lives - And still attempt to claim a moral high ground after - For is that not the exact same thing the Adrian filth attempted? Is that not the reason we now obliterate their keeps and deliver Godan’s Justice? This is our Peace. KRUSAE ZWY KONGZEM Signed, His Lordship, Anatoliy Ilya Alyovich Godunov, Baron of Verskaya.
  2. 11th of the First Seed RAZING OF THE COVE ᛋᚲᛟᚢᚱᚷᛖ ᛟᚠ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛞᚱᚨᚷᛟᚾᛋ The sun rose above the still standing statue of Kjell looking over the old home of the Irehearts. Now illegally possessed by the Dragonkin, the Irehearts took action for such a slight. After issuing demands to the dragonkin, which they foolishly ignored, the Dragonslayers and the worshippers of Xan marched upon the dragon-cove, to exact revenge and to achieve justice. The group entered the town without being stopped, the only witness fleeing at the sight of the dwarven band. They were greeted by set up cannons at the harbor, fashionably aimed at the ships in the dock. The group quickly went to work, loading the cannon and firing on the large battleship in the bay. Loud booms would be heard across the mountain as the gunpowder shot the heavy cannonballs into the belly of the ship. It groaned before sinking it to the cold bottom of the sea. The dwarves then turned the cannon to the main hall, letting loose more shots hitting the once honorable hall of the Irehearts, more loud booms would be heard with the crashes of flying stone and broken wood debris scattered over the cove. They then turned to the Ireheart sloop that still held the clan's colors. Not leaving it to the dishonor of the Azdrazi they set it ablaze allowing it to burn to its eventual doom. After setting more of the dragonkins houses ablaze and letting their homes be turned into ash. The band took control of the final cannon, hoisting its barrel up high and adjusting it properly, they set its sights on the final standing building. The aviary. The crew once more got to work, fueled by adrenaline and the honor of fulfilling justice they quickly loaded the cannon and with the help of the paladin, lit the fuse and let the cannon fire. The cannon would be stronger than the ones before, letting loose its might it would rip into the aviary tower, creating a large crater in the middle, destroying any supporting beams to keep it standing. Chunks of rocks would fly all over the town before the tower tilted forward, crashing down to the ground below, destroying anything inside. As the party left, the great hall crumbled and burned. Ships sank and houses turned to ash. A cloud of smoke spilled up into the air, creating a toxic atmosphere for the inhabitants. Missives would be sent out to the Rex and the academy. “You were given a chance to vacate our lands and you refused. The khronammoruk will weed you out like a pest and remove any memory of the dragon taint you bring with you. And Rex. Do not make the same mistake your predecessors did, and test the might of our clan. Remove the dragonkin off the land behind your city, or share their fate.” ᚹᛖ ᚨᚱᛖ ᚲᛟᛗᛁᚾᚷ ᚠᛟᚱ ᚤᛟᚢ
  3. 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕮𝖑𝖊𝖆𝖓𝖘𝖊 [!] A missive is sent to the four corners of Almaris, as a humble paladin in training sits in his room, with only a single candle to illuminate the letter he was writing. “An Elven week ago, the Vigils of Light set out on a quest to rid the world of a blight that was left to fester far too long. On the far west side outside the walls of Elysium was a cave, the outside littered with gore and blood, and as a group of four Paladins went boldly into its depths, they were met with the sickening, rotten smell, and a foreboding presence. Vampires festered inside the cave, along with a pool of crimson blood: their altar. This cave was a place for them to harbor their curse, and let it spread to the rest of the Descendants of Almaris, The Vampire ilk tried their best to cease the cleansing of their pool of crimson ichor, but had fallen to the devoted paladins without any signs of mercy. But on that fateful night, a dear brother of mine was lost. A lone vampire with an alchemical explosive knocked him into a spike trap. Such unhonorable tactics should have been expected from the filthy creatures. Sadly, he sacrificed himself to save me, and as Vindicator Esmond Reede took my place in death and ascended to be with our Sunlit Lord to fight eternally against the foes of light; our group made sure that not a single one of these bloodsuckers would ever see the world outside this cursed cave again. A fury descended onto the cave from the three Paladins in mourning, as a holy burning fire met the remaining Vampires along with their pool of blood, no doubt where they were given this curse. It was fortuitous justice that it was Esmond’s widow who lobbed the potion of fiery fury I had given her and she who rended the murderer’s head from their shoulders. The cave we were in looped back around to the inside of an extremely large, old tree; that hollowed out tree was the perfect kindling to burn the Vampires and lock them into their inevitable ashen tomb forever. The inside of the tree lit up in flames in mere seconds, the remaining Vampires quickly consumed in a fire fueled by vengeance, rage, and honor. The cave was now cleansed, the spread of the plague of Vampirism snipped at one of its many roots, one avenue of corruption removed from the world. The now Trio left the cave with their fallen brother in arms as it filled with smoke, leaving the bodies of the creatures behind to burn with their cursed pool. All that was left is the burnt husk of the tree and the ashes of the vampires left behind. To any Vampyr that happens to be reading this, the ones that prey on the weak and innocent, who find joy in their sins, the ones that don't wish to be rid of the curse and instead find pleasure in it and the suffering of others, this is not just a warning, but also a promise; we will continue to snuff you out. The Light of the Sunlight Lord will shine down upon you, and when it does, I hope He is merciful and offers you a swift death, Because I will not be so kind.
  4. “He is the warmth, the light, the fatherly embrace that holds and protects us in the everlasting darkness. His voice gives us strength. His roar gives us courage. He who will not abandon us and in our moment of absolute need, he will be there with his guiding light.” Manipulation Addition: Limbs of Light A paladin is his servant, his hand, his will upon this world. There to fight and protect those that cannot protect themselves from the darkness of the realm. To give a fighting chance and turn the tides of battle. His warriors he blesses with his power, allowing them to manipulate his mists to summon weapons and armor, cleanse corruption and taint, and even give healing properties to aid the injured. He hears their pleas, their prayers, even their torment and pain. For he places them in his warm embrace until their last breath has left, never leaving them without a flickering light. In times of need, his grace will bless them so they can continue to fight and serve. To not give up and fall into despair. A paladin that has a missing limb can learn the process of summoning the mists into the hollow ligament and condense it out, creating a temporary limb that is literally conjoined with the flesh. For this, the same rules would apply as if summoning armor or a weapon. To first learn this, the paladin would need to be very experienced in the art of manipulation and would need time and practice to learn how to manipulate properly. Starting with being able summon and control the mists into the form of the limb in question, the paladin must know the weight and feel of the limb before it was removed. The second part is learning how to move the ligaments in question. A digit curling into the palm, a foot being able to bend and take a step. Controlling the mists in such a way is very difficult to do and not everyone who learns of this ability may not be able to move the limbs, but instead, can for example create a fist to swing at an opponent or create a foot to be able to keep themselves balanced while using the other leg to support. Larger ligaments such as arms and legs will take more time to be able to summon properly whereas smaller ligaments such as ears, fingers, eyes, etc. would take less time. However, the mists are pure particles of light and cannot mimic senses. One can summon eyes if they wish yet would not be able to see; a hand would not be able to feel, etc. As well, depending on what you are summoning, such as the large ligaments, the paladin would not be able to properly summon a full set of armor. However, weapons are more manageable and able to be summon. Red lines Can only summon a limb where the area missing is. Cannot replace any senses such as sight, touch, hear, taste, or smell. Cannot produce extra limbs. The limb is only as strong as iron as it is similar to summoned armor. Cannot make any weapon limbs. (IE) An arm with a sword at the end instead of a hand, etc etc. Cannot summon armor while a summoned limb is created. Cannot summon both a weapon and a limb at the same time. Cannot summon animal parts as limbs. Special thanks to Hugo for sparking the idea of the lore and to Mooyose for aiding me in the idea.
