  1. THE PITIFUL DISPUTE The Shotus Of Fools Written by Yves Michael of Aeldin Penned on the 28th of Malin’s Welcome, In the year of 1883 The Queen of Wonderland (1803) To my cousins and relatives to the North and South. I not only plead but demand you both stop this dispute. The Lady of the South should know to keep her mouth shut. She brings shame to our name and drags it through the dirt for exposing any showcase of hate or bitterness to another member, especially a former matriarch of the family. You not only bring shame to expose any showcase of weakness, but you also cause trouble and division within the Rosius Dynasty. I would have expected the Baroness of the South to act with more dignity and common sense before thinking to write anything of the sort Then to the Lady of the North, I scold you as well. Not for defending your own mother, the late Baroness Hera de Rosius. But for also bringing this dispute and scandal into the light of the public even more than our Cousin. Our dynasty was kept together and strong this long. For not who was more in the right, but knowing that working together will bring glory and honor. Valent, Otis, and Philip. Worked together to keep our dynasty strong and mighty, working hard not only to get their own recognition by being a holy knight or a political savvy statesman, but to allow their descendants to thrive under their fruits of labor. I know my words are harsh. But this action, this minor action to some. Is shameful and plainly idiotic. The anger which flowed through my veins when I saw these two articles, public articles, given by my poor elderly butler who was exposed to my ill behavior after seeing my reaction. I might as well have had a heart attack, as this just made my mind go into a state of fury, my brows furrowing as I scream and throw the articles into the flames in a fit of rage and anger. I only felt shame and sorrow after my outbursts of despair and wrath. As not only had I felt betrayed by seeing this but also injury for this showcase of weakness from both parties. Injured or not. I say this, stop this dispute immediately. Make amends publicly and never speak of this matter again or face the consequences of your actions. Do you wish for our family to be like the Rutherns? They literally were torn apart because of these types of actions. Do you wish for our family to be like the families divided in the War of Two Emperors? Cousin against Cousin, Mother against Daughter, and Father against Son? You two sicken me with these foolish games, actions which could have easily been thought over. But you let your own personal judgment dictate your actions, which historically never worked for any leader. Look at the entirety of Johannesburg. Destroyed because a mad Johannian Emperor would rather not let his brittle throne and deteriorating capital be taken over then to live and allow his legacy be remembered as just a failure, instead he is known as a mad, sinnful, and selfish Emperor. You both give me two choices, either hope you two amend for your mistakes and we all simply pass over this hiccup or I denounce you both and never speak with either branch of the family again. I am more convinced to do the second option but I am a merciful and kind relative who would rather see my family be more united than torn and broken. I hope the two of you sway me to pick the first option as I had only recently come to Alamaris and to settle within the Johannian Princes and Lords of the Horenic Dynasty within Sedan and do not wish to completely shut off my own blood from any forum of communication. DIEU AVEC NOUS, The Lord de Rosius Yves Michael of Aeldin
  2. The Principality of South Sedan brings to you… Ireheart supremasexy An Evening of love and romance for all… "Admirers Masquerade” Which will be held on: Night of the Red Heart Moon, 16th of Tobias's Bounty, 1859 [!] The people and the vassals of Urguan would find this invite posted in mailboxes, city boards, and pinned to the doors of citizens. It would be posted so that the people of the Tripartite Accord would all be welcomed to come and enjoy the Masquerade. Each invite, and post, was sealed with the emblem of Her ladyship, Boja ‘BB’ Bojo, Baroness of Huvaardia. The nations of the war have lost a lot of people, from leaders, to citizens. Each side of the war has lost many and in light of said losses, Sedan is hosting a ball to help the youth and many more find love and friends, all while enjoying some sort of freedom and calm during this war. Even though we are offering peace during this Masquerade ball, many on the side of Oren will not be per say welcomed with open arms. All of the people not coming from the Tripartite Accord will be searched, only to ensure that we will help keep the peace while the event goes on. People of all ages are welcomed. The ball will be hosted in Sedan, just outside of the Sedanian Church, there will be foods of many types and drinks for those above drinking age, while offering juices and sweet drinks for those underage. Music, dancing and entertainment will be offered to all who come to enjoy the night of love and friendship. All of said visitors and attendees are expected to don certain colours: white, red, and gold, The colours are believed to be tied to love and freedom in a sense. Along with the colours, each and everyone is asked to wear a mask, to cover only their upper faces. The women are expected to don dresses, which hold wide and flowing skirts, while being modest. As the ball comes to a close, we will name a she and he as the best dressed, giving the title of “The Red Dove” to said lovely lady, and “The Red Raven” to the handsome fella, but only for the said night. Signed, Her ladyship, Boja ‘BB’ Bojo, Baroness of Huvaardia [OOC]
  3. The Siege of Southbridge A Sedanian's Perspective Four decades ago, Sedan declared her freedom from the tyranny of the Holy Orenian Empire. Four decades ago, the people of Sedan suffered our defeat at the Battle of Southbridge. A war to free ourselves from the Emperors who cared naught for us, the rights of the nobility, nor the true will of the people that had ended with the righteous people of Sedan being forced to flee their homes as the Orenian Hordes came bearing down upon our beloved Principality. Now, Four decades later, we stood before the same fortress that caused our defeat in our righteous war, now engulfed in flame. With the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, the Kingdom of Haense, the Ferrymen Band, and many more marching side-by-side with us, we returned to exact our vengeance. The Siege was glorious; beautiful, even. It brought myself to near tears seeing the trebuchets unleash hellfire upon that cursed castle of Southbridge. In that moment I knew that my Father, Uncle, Cousins, and all those who had suffered at the hands of Oren were now avenged. Stone bashed against the brittle walls of the Castle, the feeble Orenian rock crumbling and causing many Orenians to fall to their demise below. The Order was given, and we charged into the keep with no hesitation in our hearts. Under our glorious Prince Leopold, along with the brilliant minds of the Tripartite Leaders, I knew we would have victory that day. The Sedanians, alongside our Tripartite Allies, fought with a fury not seen since the War with Rozania. We fought the Orenians with fire in our hearts, determination in our minds, and vengeance as our goal. It soon became clear that the Orenians could not withstand the might of true steel and battle-hardened men, as many fell before our blades as we came upon them. The Coalition's Trebuchets had battered their fort into nothing but a kill-zone, that we gladly used to our advantage. Corralled in a single hallway, our arrows found their marks in the weak spots of Orenian armor, while others harassed our foe from behind, not allowing them a moment's rest. Not even Twenty saint's minutes into the battle, the sound of fighting died down. The bodies of thousands of Orenian dead littered the ground inside and surrounding the keep. From there, I knew with a wonderful certainty that the day had been won. We had endured minimal casualties while inflicting severe losses upon our cowardly foe. Upon the conclusion of the battle, nothing could be heard but the warcries of the many nations that had come. "Krusae zwy Kongzem!" "Iron from Ice!" "Narvak oz Urguan!" and of course, "Ave Sedan!" Let it be known, the People of Sedan shall always have their revenge. Be it days, months, years, or decades, we shall have it. Ave Sedan
  4. Settlement PRO MC Name: Doggedwasupxxx Settlement Name: The Principality of Sedan Proposed Settlement Locations (Highlight 3 on the map): Tile 72, Tile 63, Tile 62 (we prefer tile_72, starred below) Settlement Lore (could include previous roleplay posts showing involvement with the community) (1000 words minimum): With over two years of in-game history spanning over two consecutive maps, Sedan is one of the most successful and dynamic groups to exist on the server. I - Early History Over the centuries, Sedan has served as both the home of the Horen cadet House de Joannes and the infamous Chapter of Saint Alexander (or “Goats of Sedan”). The family has a link to the ancient Marnantine cause- they professed to have inherited the Marnan claim upon the death of Joseph I, leading to the election of short-lived, sickly Alexander II. The coup of warlord Adrian de Sarkozy sent the family fortunes in shambles, with one of Alexander’s brothers being executed and another exiled. The remaining de Joannes, Robert, lived in exile for his entire life, serving as a mercenary and fighting for or against Oren depending how fortunes swayed. He maintained a loyal following of companymen, which would one day become the background of modern Sedan. The Sedan Company of Prince Robert at the conclusion of the Skirmish of Al-Sootikya The company of Prince Robert served in numerous conflicts, including the NAFTA Crisis and AIS War under the employ of the Kingdom of Haense, as well as numerous minor conflicts between smaller independent states. II - Sedanian Rebellion After his fathers death, Louis returned to Oren with children of his own and began building up the Sedan fortune as seen today. Louis advocated for vassal-rights and levies to be afforded to any and all lords. An early Sedanian patrol led by Louis de Joannes Despite the chargin of the Imperial State, the family retained their sizable mercenary force. One particular event which struck considerable tensions between both parties was the Goats’ successful rescue of John Hartcold, the former Orenian King-of-Arms. Thereafter, the Hartcold family pledged their loyalty and service to the de Joannes clan, though such a move was greatly lambasted by the Orenian government. Operation Hartcold, led by Louis and Alexander de Joannes Another important event came in a makeshift alliance between the Goats and the Rangers of Southbridge against the then-High Pontiff Owyn III. Though the operation was ultimately unsuccessful, the event quickened the downfall of the pontiff and his eventual condemnation by a council called by the King of Haense, Heinrik II. The Orenian government heavily condemned both the Goats and the Rangers, leading to worsening ties between the former and the Imperial Crown. Operation Draetard, together with the Rangers of Southbridge The Emperor, Joseph II struck down any notion of vassal-rights and the youngest son of Louis was arrested by Imperial soldiers. The Goats of Sedan, enraged by the arrest of a child, marched on Providence and began a bloodless shootout with the ISA troopers. This engagement gave Emperor Joseph the justification he needed to evict the Sedanians from their manor, citing the supposed refusal to pay taxes, the owning of a private army, and a handful of other criminal charges. Alongside being evicted, the de Joannes family were labeled criminals and the Imperial State Army was ordered to arrest any family members on sight. Battle of Southbridge Louis and his sons immediately gathered up an army and marched against the Orenians, sparking the Battle of Southbridge. Despite the battle being an Orenian victory, Louis declared independence from Oren, and declared the creation of the Principality of Sedan. Louis and his support boosted, with the Goats of Sedan receiving several new additions to their ranks. Importantly, two noble families known as the House of Hartcold and the House of Bishop joined the ranks of the Principality, and were each given a Barony as a result as their family members rushed to join the Sedanian army. Several skirmishes between Sedan and Oren continued from 1811 to 1813, with the outcome of these small-scale engagements swapping hands multiple times. Eventually, Louis came to the realization that Sedan would not be able to rally enough men to hold against an Orenian siege army, and as a result declared the Spring Contingency. The Spring Contingency, which ordered the burning of the Sedan Castle and the retreat from Oren, caused the de Joannes family, the Hartcold family, the Castile family, and the Bishop family to go into exile in the Kingdom of Haense. Joannes Family while in exile in Haense III - The Exile and South Sedan Haense, bound by their own agreements with Oren, denounced the Sedanians. So they quickly moved to a new station. The Grand King of Urguan granted the refugees land and Prince Alexander of Sedan revealed that the Orenians told them to build on top of Dwarven Ruins. King Nooblius, enraged by this, denounced Oren and displayed their wrong doing in an open-letter for all of Almaris to see. At the same time, the Church of Cannon recognized the Sedanian people offering them a diocese again. Execution of an alleged Orenian spy in South Sedan However there were talks of an excommunication after a Ferrymen Slave auction was held in Sedan against the will of the Sedanian people. The Ferrymen threatened everyone present in the Sedan castle until they got their way, which led to more patrols led by the Sedanians after the incident. At the time, Sedan was not ready to defend itself from the Ferrymen, and as a result caved on their demands. The entire incident caused Urguan to bring Leopold, the new Prince, to trial in the capital. Urguan accused Leopold of allowing the Ferrymen to do the auction in the first place, however the Sedanians denied this. While there were some light tensions, cooler heads prevailed and the Sedanians were let off with a fine. This caused the Sedanians to be even more cautious in their actions going forward. View of Louisville and Carsura (South Castle) IV - Conflicts Against the Rustlers During a routine patrol led by Peter de Joannes, the Goats encountered armed mercenaries, known as Rustlers, within the vicinity of Sedan. After engaging and interrogating the Rustler band, a fight broke out between both parties. The Goats quickly gained the upper hand and resoundingly defeated the Rustlers with no survivors. While the details of the event are murky, with both sides blaming each other of banditing, one fact was certain: bloody ordeal awaited both hosts of soldiery. A rustler being put on trial in Sedan’s Court The war was quick- the Goats under the young Leopold dominated the field in every skirmish, bringing the Rustlers to heel under the ferocity of Sedanian steel. Countless Rustler commandos and under-bosses were executed, with many more slain in lightning raids. Rustler Boss being held captive by the Sedanians After a continuous string of victories, the Rustler Boss - a malicious elf by the name of Elsil’Ceru - was captured alive and brought before the Court of Sedan. Their cause all but lost, the boss delivered his submission to Prince Leopold. While many called for the boss’ execution, the Prince’s council instead found it wise to extract reparations and tribute instead from the motley band of raiders. Humiliated and debased before the citizenry of Louisville, Elsil’Ceru was released, ending the conflict in a resounding Sedanian victory. VI - Oisin’s Rebellion The fame of the mercenary Goats only grew following the submission of the Rustler bosses. Now seeking new engagement, the young Prince and his council was approached by a would-be claimant: Oisin Roza, a bastard child of a pagan fiefdom towards the west of Sedan. He promised the Goats riches, glory, and (most importantly) his family’s conversion to Canonism. After a brief deliberation in-house and with Sedan’s newest ally Savoy, the Prince agreed to Oisin’s proposal. Quickly, Leopold ordered the Goats to march and bivouac close to Rozania. Sedan’s forces fought in all major engagements of the Rebellion, especially the First Battle of Louisville, the Second Battle of Louisville, and the Sacking of Roza. All three of these battles were Sedanian victories, and flooded Sedanian treasuries with war loot that would last them the rest of the war. It is because of their victories that Sedan boomed in population and manpower, leading to increased popularity not seen since the days of the Sedan Rebellion. Execution of a Rozanian Buckfortite during the Oisin’s Rebellion Prince Leopold de Joannes personally led the Sedanian soldiers in the three major engagements, earning himself valuable combat experience and cemented him as a capable battlefield commander. The realm is ruled by the Prince, Leopold de Joannes and his Government, with the main branch being the Privy Council. Also underneath the Prince are his loyal vassals. They are tasked with ensuring order within his realm, as well as serving it in any way they can, in exchange peers and their kin receive special privileges. Some aspects of Sedan’s peerage are very similar to the ones of Oren and Haense. This is because of the cultural and roleplay influences that the two nations had on its formation. The Privy Council of Sedan is made up of six positions, not including the Prince. They are as follows: The Chancellor: The head of the Privy Council and the Sovereign's Representative. The Vice Chancellor: The second in command of the Privy Council, and representative of the Chancellor in their time of absence. The Lord Treasurer: The Financial Counsellor of the Principality. They are put in-charge of all the economic affairs of the realm. The High Steward: The Chief Housing Councillor of the Principality. They are put in-charge of all the city management affairs within the Royal Capital. The Lord Marshal: The Chief Military Councillor of the Principality. They head the Goats of Sedan, as well as the military as a whole. The Lord Justicar: The Legal Counsellor of the Principality. They preside over Sedan’s Legal court. You can find additional information on the Government structure, including Privy Council duties in the Sedan Law Codex below, although it is still in progress. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NERYABKLvGvuX59Y9jWP6h1Yl-4nH8ru2iaAo3B48yc/edit?usp=sharing Settlement Builds and Infrastructure (photos required): How does this settlement offer a unique niche not already found in an existing polity on the server?: Despite the rise of bureaucratic kingdoms of the humanlands, Sedan uniquely has maintained the practice of a strong tradition of martial culture and a focus on military excellence. In following the classical mannerbundic practices and systems (such as, the ancient Teutonic Order, White Rose, OSL, Decterum, Akovian Brigade, Gold Corps, etc.), Sedan may be acutely defined as a “military with a state” rather than a “state with a military”. Martial excellence is crucial to Sedanian society- every boy starting at the age of 10 is given military training and expected to serve within the ranks of the Goats. Sedan Lore Post (Unfinished) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uurFyVHb-VzEg6kC8ePuWFtg5kIR2-5kvbGsGRMK_p0/edit How does your settlement tie to the greater lore and narrative set by the community on LotC?: Sedan has been providing quality roleplay for the whole server since its rebellion in March of 2021. We have strived to be an active community and provide good quality roleplay for everyone. With our new settlement, we’d promote our materialistic roleplay and it’d continue the narrative of the Sedan rebellion and set up for some interesting roleplay. Have you ever run a settlement on LoTC before and what experience do you have with leadership within roleplay communities among the current groups of players?: I have run many settlements, starting from freebuild communities dating back to 2018. My first charter (settlement) rolled around in 2019 when I led a small town called Ravensburg with a few friends .The next group I led was Ludovar in 2020 during quarantine where I learned lots of lessons about leading and being a roleplay leader.. Ludovar ended up running the hamlet of Johnstown towards the end of the map. Do you understand the metrics for maintaining activity and the grounds for settlement removal, along with the standing polity cap?: Yes SEDAN IS TILE_86

  7. [!] A majestic hawk would deliver a letter to Owyn de Joannes, Regent of Sedan ((@Emery)). The letter would be neatly folded and sealed with the crest of The Rustlers. To Owyn de Joannes, the House of de Joannes, and all those who align themselves with the Goats of Sedan, I am aware of what you have done. Rest assured that this is both your first and final warning. Should any Goat lay a finger upon any of my men again, there will be trouble. While we do not wish to pursue conflict, we will not hesitate to do so, should your dishonorable acts persist. Heed my advice, men of Sedan: Beware the blue bandana. Signed, Elsil’Ceru, Rustler Boss Signed, Elsiimah’Ceru, Rustler Boss

He can be seen pointing towards whomever might find themselves glancing towards the poster as if he was trying to convey the fact that he's personally speaking to them specifically. The look in Gustaven's eyes would be that of fierce determination. It is clear that the poster's motive is to spread awareness about the existence of an anti-tyrannical government force - specifically the Resistance against Oren - whose openly oppositional to the current ruling group. 9. __________________________________________________________________________________ "They gambled with other people's liberty, and so lost their own" Gustaven von Halsfield, 1813 __________________________________________________________________________________ Fresh posters were plastered on every building amongst Providence. It was clear that the person who had hung these did so recently. If one was to pass by or inspect it closely, the subject matter of said poster would depict the phrase: IS YOUR HOME WORTH FIGHTING FOR? IT WILL BE TOO LATE TO FIGHT WHEN THE ENEMY IS AT YOUR DOOR RESIST! Pictured in the center of the poster is a wonderfully-crafted drawing of what resembles the typical noble family. Within the family was a small girl, a daughter perhaps - likely no older than seven or eight. The family seemed to be inside their well-off estate, evident by the luxurious architecture and room design; if your eyes were to trail to the family's front door, you would immediately notice two ISA soldiers bursting in with weapons drawn. The sense of fear was greatly expressed on the painted families features: the details of tears could be seen on the daughters eyes; the mother was distraught with terror, turning to flee. It's obviously clear that the ISA soldiers are entering the house with malignant intentions, one of them is even drawn grinning smugly as he rushes towards the family with his weapon drawn. The words above and under the painting were of a bold, black variety, obviously to pop out to the reader in an effort to catch their attention. It is clear that the poster's motive was to create fear amongst the nobles; to show how even they are not protected from the evils associated with the Empire. That they could easily be victims to these vile beings if they choose to neglect the problem at hand. The poster's insinuating that if we - as a people - don't stand together to fight against those above us, then it will be soon too late. __________________________________________________________________________________ ((Previous post, Cries for Revolution: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199201-cries-for-revolution)) ((Previous post, O' Beautiful Providence: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199510-o-beautiful-providence-a-critical-treatise)) ((Previous post, The Resistance Against Oren: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199659-the-resistance-against-oren)) ((Previous post, The Greatest of all Evils: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199915-the-greatest-of-all-evils)) ((Previous post, Is the Rejection of Tyranny an Act of Terrorism: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/200158-is-the-rejection-of-tyranny-an-act-of-terrorism))
  10. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ "Politics are a means of which for somebody to feel powerful in a world where they themselves are truly powerless." Gustaven von Halsfield, 1811 ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ [!] Nailed to the wall at various parts within Providence - chiefly the front of the tavern - are copies of some type of semi-brief treatise: Throughout our beloved empire I see a false narrative. A narrative that attempts to sway the very people that we live, bleed, and die for; a narrative which tries to convince them to believe that we are the ones that they must fear. Terrorists, they call us; such a word being thrown loosely to label us as something that the empire cares not for. The complete irony of that particular label being thrust upon us is near enough to provoke one to fall face first down in laughter. Well, nonetheless, I for one certainly am not a terrorist. If anything, I am a simple man with agreeable ideals that merely are to better the Empire, to better our society; Is that unreasonable? Does that warrant me - and others whom are likeminded - to be thought of as "terrorists?" Firstly, is it not a terrorist who conspires amongst themselves to benefit from those they deem below them, purposefully taking advantage of their misfortunes? Power is the goal of the terrorist, one will do whatever it takes to seize said power from those willing to give it up; and for those that are unwilling to give it up, terrorists will employ much more forceful methods to acquire said power. Is it not a terrorist who creates a disorderly environment, or deceives their fellow peers to create fear subconsciously within their minds in order to compel them to mindlessly obey them for those whom are victims have no other choice; they’re coerced - by fear - to latch onto those who terrorize them, these victims are driven by this fear, mistakenly convinced that there is no alternative. Is it not a terrorist who strikes fear in the heart of those which suffer from their actions? Whether the suffering of those victims be intentional or not, the terrorist will purposefully create an environment which promotes this sense of fear, for if the populace they’re terrorizing fears them then they shan’t rebel against them; fear is a tool used to destroy hope, without hope there will be no chance for opposition against the threat. Lastly, is it not a terrorist who foolishly takes justice into their own hands, misconstruing it to benefit them and only them, holding those who openly oppose these terrorists accountable for crimes that of which they themselves did not commit, choosing to punish them for said crimes without even holding a trial on their behalf, much like the Empire does; A mockery of the justice system. Why insist on having such a practice established - that being the justice system - if it’s never utilized! Justice is a concept which is foreign to the Empire, evidenced by the recent transgressions taken against the Falstaff family; Daniel de Falstaff recently being executed without even the privilege of a proper trial offered to them. Regardless of which side you align yourself with you cannot deny that Falstaff deserved a proper trial. Nonetheless, I digress: Terrorists rule through terror. A true terrorist has the minds of the people held captive, able to mold even an iron-will like butter in order to have their personal ambitions seen. They do this tactic through inspiring fear within the populace and crushing their will. The Empire are who are the true terrorists in this situation. We are not terrorists. We are an entity, against another entity. Terrorists have but only one goal, to inflict terror and havoc; that’s not our objective .. fundamentally at my core I am a man of harmless nature, I impose no threats, I am a dreamer. I yearn for our society to advance into proper modernism where we all can live in the paradise known as prosperity and economic opportunity. For that to happen we must kill this entity, or subdue it, for the betterment of us all; to change the very grounds that Oren is built on. If that requires our blood, guts and death then so be it! Let it rain blood, let it rain guts, and let it rain death! That is for the Empire to decide whether they wish to spill the blood of innocents or not. Tell me, fellow Orenians; do tell me what you see as you walk through those ‘illustrious’ alleys of Providence and look to the ISA: those wolves in sheep's clothing that pounce through the streets, ready to strike those who do not conform. These ‘men’ - or more-so fussing toddlers - exclaim that we are an enemy to the Empire, but yet, we are not the ones who murder our fellow companions in cold blood, or threaten innocents due to their different opinions. In fact, the true terrorists among you wear a badge and uniform. These wolves disguise themselves as good men and are the very same ones which manipulate our lives. We all walk on hot coal to appease their lustful urge for control. Say that the beatings that occur ever so commonly at hand of the ISA in our streets are too much for one to keep their eyes held to. Divert your attention to those beautiful walls; the ones now covered with poster after poster spreading propaganda to every passerby. “Obey the Law. The Imperial State Army is watching”, says a poster that greets every man, woman and child entering Providence. The Empire is employing the tactic of fear mongering to control us, to keep us in line. Using a statement such as, “they are watching” creates paranoia subconsciously. We fear that if we do something “wrong” within their eyes then we will instantly be caught and punished for disobeying the sheep mindset they instill in us. Those of us within their society are designed to be a flock of sheep, and the Empire are the herders; telling us where to go, what to think, and what to fear. “They brainwash young men into becoming worker bees,” - all of those within the Empire working under the same hive-mind; that of which is a statement that was provided to us by one of those very same brainwashed men of the military himself. This usage of propaganda to manipulate us doesn't stop there .. there are dozens of posters, similar in nature to the one mentioned above, which are present up-and-down the streets of Providence. No longer, I say, no longer! It's high-time for us to open our eyes, to look past these posters of propaganda which litter the beautiful city of Providence that we know and love. I say that we look past these posters, which pollute our minds; to think for ourselves! I encourage you, those belonging to the Empire, sit down tonight in your homes and think for yourself: Who's truly the terrorist in this situation? Who's betrayed your trust, causing you to fear them rather than to respect them? Who neglects your rights and interferes with you in your pursuit for prosperity and spiritual success? The manipulation and fear-tactics that the Empire employs is more terroristic than merely expressing grievances of our government which is what I - and many others like me - do. Is rejection of tyranny truly an act of terrorism? Are my harmless words and grievances manipulating the hundreds of citizens of the Empire? Am I insinuating fear or terror in order to receive compliance for my cause? No, I am doing no such things, so then why would one consider me - and others like me - a threat to the Empire? I'll leave you all with this: Does the ISA create fear? Yes. Do they force you to comply with their unjust ideals and unrighteous cause? Yes. Do they impede your right to life, liberty and prosperity? Indeed they do. Those things are truly what terrorism is, not any of my actions. Aforementioned, I am a man of harmless nature, I impose no threats, I am but a dreamer. I'll say this once, but never again .. for those of you whom are listening, do understand: The rejection of tyranny is not an act of terrorism. Dutifully signed, Ser Gustaven von Halsfield, Baron of Huvaardia - a proud Sedanite who isn't afraid of speaking truths. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ((Previous post, Cries for Revolution: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199201-cries-for-revolution)) ((Previous post, O' Beautiful Providence: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199510-o-beautiful-providence-a-critical-treatise)) ((Previous post, The Resistance Against Oren: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199659-the-resistance-against-oren)) ((Previous post, The Greatest of all Evils: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/199915-the-greatest-of-all-evils))
  11. War. War is a funny thing, isn’t it? Unstable, bendable. And something that can be resolved by the very one’s who’ve started it. One may compare war to cards. A good game of cards may very well end badly With a single victor, The rest of the players are crushed. Perhaps, perhaps that is why there is a card game named War. Most do not trust war. And some, some do not trust cards. I myself do not trust cards, For a single little card game landed me the scars of burns upon my face. Scars one may get from battle. An unneeded one, with many losses, For pride. Just as one would play cards, For pride. And monetary gain, of course. Which can be said for war as well, And all those who lead it. Well, usually that is. Signed, Mirabella Violet Ave Sedan
  12. A place for all, or a place for none. Which is it? To some, it’s a place of freedom. For someone such as I, it’s considered a prison. Me, a child, hiding from an empire. Who thought it would ever come to this? A single child, an orphan. I know I would most likely be killed if I were to turn myself in, it is simply not an option. Even if you did realize your mistakes. I will remember this for the rest of my days. Three acts of treason hung over my head like a noose made of rat chewed rope, That will snap once weight is put upon it, Setting its prisoner running free. Albeit with some neck pain of course, no? Oren is claimed to be a place where one can speak freely, yet my free speech is punished. Is it because I am a lesser to them? Simply an elf to be shut up? Or because I’m a woman, though I am still hardly one at this young age. Being young doesn’t forbid me from having opinions. And you know that, don’t you? Of course you do. For you want people to follow you, as mindless drones to listen to every word you speak from your wretched mouth. And echo in monotone, ‘Oren is surely the best nation.’ Alas, you have not made a drone out of me, have you? No, no you have not. Signed, Mirabella Violet Ave Sedan
  13. Oren. Lovely, lovely Oren. A shining Ruby of a city. A Ruby I wish were shattered. Oren is a place of beauty, misery, and corruption. It's a glimmering stone, with a tainted inside. Providence, how clean it is, how well mannered their people are. It is a sham. They know it. A place of lies and hidden harm to those who DARE try and expose its truth. A place. I would call home. For six years of the measly thirteen I have been around for. Where I would've been nearly killed, had it been for some kind dwarves. A haunted doll, a poltergeist, they killed for me. And what happened after. The ISA ran the dwarves out. I was young, seven then. I was disguised as a human for two years. I was treated better than then I am now, as an elf. My ears, clipped, by hazy and unknown faces, and a family I have no memory of. gone. I grew to have pride in the city of Providence, yet I've always known it was a terrible, terrible place. The ISA is seen as the greatest issue within the Empire, but it's so much more. The nobles, a cruel clique one is simply born into by chance. They're friendly, yet try to poison one another, for what? More gain? Wealth? To be able to say their enemy was rid of? It's all horrid to see, and hear of. I say this now, after going other places. The oh so scary Sedan. A refuge to those who need it, as I see it. Just before I finished writing this, an ISA soldier pulled his sword on me, for simply going in the direction of the city. I denounce Oren as my home it once was. If I would even call it a home. Consider me a traitor. Try to kill me. Ave Prince Louis of Sedan Ave Sedan Signed, Mirabella Violet
