KRUGISTAN MARCH OF THE AZHAL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akFZtK0GVU4 (SONG IS OBLIGATORY TO READ POST) BY REX SKALVOR’S HAND KRUG’S YEAR 2011 LURAK IS KAPUTZ. And with this, let Skalvor make his first proclamation: ALL URUKIM ARE TO RETURN TO THE GOI. With the return of Grommash and his naming, alongside Kretz’Ox, as Azhal, that is envoy to all Urukim, that is welcomer of all Urukim to return to the goi, that is as GREAT UNIFIER. Let all Azhal, let all Urukim usher in a new age of our people under Skalvor-Me. Let all Urukim find a home in the goi, whether they blah the Blah, whether they blah the Common, whether their HIGHER SPIRITS find themselves somewhere else. I, Skalvor, say so: ALL URUKIM ARE TO COME. ALL URUKIM WILL BE HEARD IN KLAMOR. It is not your home, it is not your upbringing, it is not your faith, but it is your blood. It is the blood of Krug that should bring all Urukim home to Skalvor, and home to goi. So I call to the exile, because Skalvor once was exile, so I call to the nomad, because Skalvor once was nomad, so I call to the clanless, because Skalvor is clanless, so I call to the apostate, because Skalvor was once apostate: come home. Long has our people’s diaspora weakened our resolve, and let us stray from the code of Krug that should so bind us as it binds our blood. Long have we forgotten the ways of our ANCESTAZ, long have we forgotten the rite of communion with the spirits in Stargush, the domain of KRUG-MAULOCH. Long, brothers all, have we forgotten what it means to be Kruggite. Skalvor has killed Voidalist. Skalvor will kill freako. Skalvor will collect all that is Krug’s will to collect, and Skalvor will unite our people. Watch, brothers, how far from the Badlands they snicker and jeer at you. They call you dull-minded for how you speak, they call you hideous for how you look, the bearing of the mark of Krug upon your face, they call you uncouth for our very physiognomy. (artist depiction of dead voidalist after kicked into pit) Let the URUKIM live as ONE NATION UNDER KRUG. AZH NATION UNDER KRUG. WITNESS, FREAKOREXES, on how the sons of Krug assemble. Kruggites, know that the Pinkies, know that the Dwed, know that the Twiggie all fear you. They fear you, because in you, they see a son of Krug larger than them, a son of Krug stronger than them, a son of Krug more zealous than them, a son of Krug more adept than them, and in all of that, they have nothing more to say than to deem you lesser. In the lands not of Krug you will forever be subject to discrimination. In the lands not of Krug you will never be seen as equal. Give praise to the Oni, for their FIGHT for EQUALITY, that they have so vigilantly risen and stood as equal, as KRUGGITE among OTHERS. Yet, know too, that the ONI do not forsake the way of Krug. They do not forsake our traditions, they do not forsake our practices, they do not forsake Krug altogether. These traditions, that have so long lain dormant as the goi remain dormant, will verifiably, and justly, be re-awoken under the hand of Skalvor. Let the hunter return, let the warforger return, let the preacher of the Stargush’Zoh return, let ALL OF YOU RETURN. Let the knight return, let the smith return, let the architect return, let the shepherd return, let ALL URUKIM RETURN. Under Skalvor, will no Uruk be treated preferentially. Under Skalvor, let your ACTION make your NAME, not your BLOOD, not your CLAN, not your AGE. Let all Urukim be EQUAL UNDER KRUG, Olog, Uruk, Gobbo, all be equal, and let ALL URUKIM RETURN. To be a KRUGGITE is to be above. Know that our bodies are of better stock, for our father was the strongest of his brothers. Know that our minds are as keen as any other, for our father was keen enough to heed the Spirits and strike down Iblees. Know that our bodies are resilient, that our fabrics are incorruptible. It is our father that first was blessed with the word of the Spirits, with his code of Krug. Of all descendants, let none best us in body, let none best us in mind, and now, let none best us in community. LET ALL URUKIM RETURN. There is a place for all, there is a place for all strong and courageous and honorable, so let all Urukim return. Let your exile be done. Let the goi be resplendent again. Return to the Bled, return from your exile, return to the Badlands. Let all of you speak in Klamor, to advise our people, to heed the code, to live, as one. Grommash will visit you. The Azhal will visit you. I will visit you. Krug will visit you. HEED OUR CALL. AZH NATION UNDER KRUG. SKALVOR REX OF KRUGISTAN WAGHTINKA OF THE THAUG’MAUGRIM

+Canonist Thesis+ Why do Canonist Uruk die so young? Penned by Bon’Ox || Imperial 2009|| S.A 204 || A.R. Petrère 154 || Throughout my short 60 Y E A R S of life, living mostly not with my own kind, but with Heartlanders, Highlanders, Waldenians, Auvergnian’s & Adunians - I’ve P E R S O N A L L Y met quite a few Uruks, who have either through C I R C U M S T A N C E S or through their U P - B R I N G I N G decided to abandon T H E W A Y S of their A N C E S T O R S & join the C A N O N I S T F L O C K. Yet out of those F I V E, T H R E E of them have passed on to the S E V E N S K I E S, before they even reached 40 Y E A R S of age, often in a C R U E L & B L O O D Y manner. List of Known Canonist Uruks G O B Z T A B B A - Z N I F F A Goblin Converted & Baptised Died at Age: 22 Cause of Death: Duel to defended his right to be a Canonist K R O G ‘ N A G Orc Converted & Baptised Died at Age: 30+ Cause of Death: Being shot while trying to save people from enslavement S E R R A U G/ R U T H O N Olog Converted & Baptised Died at Age: 38 Cause of Death: Defending people of the church from a Darkspawn attack S E R R ú N A G L E T H Orc Up-bringing Age: 25 Alive I R U N G I T ‘ R A G U K Goblin Most likely Converted Age: ??? Alive ? L I F E of a C A N O N I S T U R U K It doesn’t happen often that an Uruk leaves the D E S E R T & The U R U K H I M, to venture into lands that D I S C R I M I N A T E S them for their ways. Yet some do - be it through B A N I S H M E N T, better O P P O R T U N I T I E S or simply W A N D E R L U S T. However, often these stories do not end well - as M A N K I N D lacks U N D E R S T A N D I N G of that which is N O T their O W N. What's even R A R E R than that, is an Uruk who chooses to W I L L I N G L Y part from the wisdom of The S P I R I T S for C A N O N I S M, as H O N O U R is T H E core values of our C U L T U R E & B E I N G. To L E A V E one’s ways behind is often seen as C O W A R D L Y & D I S H O N O R A B L E as they C O N T O R T their B E I N G & I D E N T I T Y to be M A N - P L E A S I NG. H O W E V E R, sometimes the R E A S O N S for one’s C O N V E R S I O N are N O T! G O B Z T A B B A - Z N I F F A claims to have met G O D themself who B L E S S E D him with a L U R A N I T E ring I wear & the P O W E R to T E L E P O R T. S E R R ú N A G L E T H was R A I S E D by those who H O N O R E D her father, Ser Raug - with C A N O N I S M becoming part of her L I F E since she was a C H I L D. Y E T why do so M A N Y of these Uruks D I E before they have grasped their F U L L potential? T H E O R I E S & T H O U G H T S M A N K I N D does N O T care for U R U K - L I F E A self-explanitory reason & one which has plenty of proof. While there A R E few bright spots of H O P E & C A R E & U N D E R S T A N D I N G within the R E A L M S of M A N, it’s well-known that M A N K I N D is at large I N C A P A B L E of caring for O T H E R S. For to B E a M A N is to be S E L F - S E R V I N G. That includes L A C K of L O V E for fellow M E N, for there are M A N Y Kingdoms of M A N - their wars engulfing the E N T I R E T Y of A V E O S. D E A T H of a C A N O N I S T does not M A T T E R, for there are M A N Y still - D E A T H of an U R U K matter’s less so, for THEY are not M A N. W R A T H of the S P I R I T S A keen eye might have noticed, that A L L the D E A D Uruk, have been T H O S E who U S E D to be S P I R I T U A L I S T S & have C O N V E R T E D later in their L I F E. For one reason or another, M A N K I N D has rarely faced the W H I M S of The S P I R I T S, unless it’s been dealt through C A L A M I T I E S or a S H A M A N. Y E T, they P E R M I A T E through E V E R Y T H I N G that I S & is Y E T to B E. T H U S was the D E A T H S of T H O S E who turned their B A C K S to T H E M - a D I V I N E punishment ST. R A G U E L can O N L Y dream of delivering. As a S H A M A N myself, IT is the reason I B E L I E V E the M O S T. U R U K S are J U S T better C A N O N I S T S J U S T as K R U G saw through the L I E S of I B L E E S which H O R E N could N O T - S O do S O N S of K R U G carry themselves H I G H & N O B L E. R A R E L Y does a S I N G L E canonist take action - T H A T is why they’re called a F L O C K. So did these Uruk go off on their O W N into the J A W S of D E A T H. U N A F R A I D & Z E A L O U S as T H E I R place by GOD was S E C U R E D for their F A I T H & S E R V I C E. H A D a M A N done as they did, T H E Y would be S A I N T E D - Y E T outside of their respective communities: C O M M O N W E A L T H of the P E T R A & K I N G D O M of N U M E N D I L, no one K N O W S of their D E E D S. F O R they were not M A N - P L E A S I N G, seeking recognition & titles, but M A N - S A V I N G. Ultimately, this T H E S I S is to bring light to an I N T E R E S T I N G pattern I have observed & some theories I have. After all - It just might be due to our N A T U R E of confronting E V I L. H O P E F U L L Y, Ser Rúnagleth will N O T suffer the same F A T E as her predecessors.

Until den… Zign’d, Varn, da Zkolah Zcion ob Klan Gorkil, Honorable Zon ob GOD agh ob Krug ———————————————————————————— [!] A Blah to Common Translation would be pinned to the missive [!] A month as passed and not even a word or missive from the Rexkhan, while many of you will say that he is focused on the upcoming invasion upon the Sovereignty of Vortice, this nothing more than another excuse out of the dozens that the Khanate has given for its reason to go to war. While they say that they convert to the True Faith of The Canon, I cannot accept that they have for-gone their eras-old traditions of Spiritualism and Shamanism. For you cannot break from a tradition that has been ingrained into a culture going as far back as the First Rex Krug, who in annals of Orcish history, is known to all within the Horde across the generations as Shaman Rex Krug. While I do not believe in this pagan faith, as I am one of the first Canonist Orcs who sought out to learn of the Holy Scrolls, to learn what REX GOTT has in store for all of us. That is why I read all four of the Holy Scrolls: Virtue, Spirit, Gospel, and Auspice for ALL of the scrolls teach us something and we must apply it to our lives in the present. When I heard that the Horde had groveled and begged before the late High Pontiff Caius I - may he observe the flock from the Seven Skies - I was filled with both joy and anger; I have the highest respect for the late High Pontiff for my late wife, Scrap - may she rest in peace in the Seven Skies - was employed under the Ducal House of Barclay when they were still landed in Haense but as Orcs, we do not flee from battle as it would dishonor the proud legacy of Father Krug, so it came as odd to me that the proud brothers and sisters of the Iron Horde cowered as a TRUE Holy Crusade was to close in on sacred desert. This current “Holy” Crusade is nothing more than several personal agendas from the leaders of these nations behind closed doors while the armies are indoctrinated by Raguel, Auspice of Justice. The Holy Mother Church, the institution that I hold close to my heart, wishes to forcefully convert those of the pagan faiths by subjugation of their nations and knowing how conversion to another religious practice, as I am a former Spiritualist, is likened to caring for a garden, for it takes time until the flowers reveal their beautiful blossoms to the gardener. With my criticisms of the Holy Mother Church and the Eastern War aside, I now re-focus on the primary and most important topic of my missive, Rexkhan Daahd Lur, as stated I have not been delivered a missive of acceptance or denial of the Rex Klomp by Daahd Lur. A few questions to the silent Khan… What are you afraid of? I am nothing more than a scholar who would be studying the myriad of books within my study than saving my homeland from an incompetent and cowardly warrior. Where is your pride? I am to think as the Rex of the Khanate that you would take pride and joy in beating a man of my opinions senseless with your bare fists as any other Orc would. Who do you actually serve? I am of the thought that leader should serve his people for the betterment of his nation but all I see from you and the missive, written by Kretz’Ox, that has been brought to my attention, is that you and the army of the Khanate would rather be the High Pontiff’s lapdogs then to care as the economy and population of your nation dwindles. I would have to agree with the Halflings’ missive about the Khanate’s relationship with Caurost, THE KHANATE WOULD NOT HAVE AN ARMY WITHOUT PADDING THEIR FORCES WITH THAT OF THE NUMBERS OF BROTHER MALIN! Rexkhan Daahd Lur, you have twenty and four [24] Saint’s Days (24 OOC hours) to respond with your answer. Will you accept the Rex Klomp as many of Father Krug’s children have done before or will you decline the Rex Klomp and hold to the power that the title of Rex brings out of cowardice and incompetency? I do not care if the excuse you address is that “I am preparing for a war, I have no time for this.”, when challenged you are to address the challenges immediately and with all haste or be ashamed that you keep your lips sealed just to focus on a petty excuse for a war. THIS REX KLOMP IS NOT ABOUT POWER, IT IS ABOUT RETURNING THE IRON HORDE TO WHAT IT ONCE WAS OR FACE OBLIVION OF OUR ERAZ-OLD CULTURE!!! Until then… Signed, Varn, The Scholar Scion of Clan Gorkil, Honorable Son of GOD and of Krug [!] An artist’s depiction of the Uruk Scholar training for the Rex Klomp [!]

I read the eyewitness account of Ser Philip and the Dawnservant when they did battle with Raguel, my horror turned to anger reading about this dæmon’s eldritch ability to restore itself through mortal viscera as if it were no messenger of our LORD GOTT. And just today I read the missive that the Khanate will march with the Holy Mother Church with the same bloody excuse that those of Vikela spirited away to the Krasts of Vortice. This, dear reader is the same excuse the Orcs of the Khanate used to raze the Shire of Dunwen to subjugate Lurin before the Republic of Salvo beat them to it and now, they use it again on to subjugate the Sovereignty of Vortice. My brothers and sisters of the IRON HORDE have had it with what Rexkhan Daahd has done to the Honorable sons and daughters of our Father Krug. I pray that this be an honor-bound klomp meaning that NO ONE is to interfere with this sacred rite of the honorable sons and daughters of Krug, for the action of doing so is dishonorable. I pray that this be an honor-bound klomp meaning the use of any sorts of magic, enchantments, runes, special metals, alchemicals, and poisons be FORBIDDEN by ANYONE who is there to witness or, in the case of Rexkhan Daahd and I, those fighting to be used during the klomp, for the action of doing so is dishonorable. URUKAHL THE LANGUAGE OF THE URUK A UNIQUE TONGUE ♪♫♪ Urukahl or the language of the Uruk, is an often divisive topic. Urukahl is a guttural and harsh tongue, it’s words derive not simply from the Uruk themselves but their interactions with the larger world and languages thereof. Widely considered one of the most colorful and exotic tongues with a deep history in legend, the Urukahl shifts like the sands it was borne from, ever-changing, evolving. Uruks are called to speak in Urukahl with fellow Uruks and to utilize their most important phrases with all, though sometimes in interactions with other races, this may be tricky- it is a source of Uruk pride that they speak their own language. Words in Urukahl often can be very similar and to other descendants might even sound the same, but to the trained ear of an Uruk there is a fundamental difference in the pronunciations and intonations that form their blessed tongue. THE FORMAL AND THE INFORMAL Urukahl follows a two-layered rule system of formal and informal, the word “Hai” meaning “Respect” in the common tongue is added in an amendment to an informal to both formalize and sometimes pluralize base words. Using formal words is mostly reserved for figures of high respect, spirits, or important occasions unless pluralizing a word. For example, when speaking to a Zhomo delivering a blessing the Uruk might say “Rulhkhai” in place of the normal “Rulhk” when accepting a gift from a friend. It is ultimately up to the Uruk to decide where to place their formals, and is a delicate process wherein the Uruk must use their wisdom to decide whether or not to formalize their statements with “Respect,” “Hai.” THE URUKAHL BASIC Greeting (informal) “Ukh” Greeting (formal) “Ukhai” Closing/Farewell (informal) “Gukh” Closing/Farewell (formal) “Gukhhai” GIVING THANKS Giving Thanks (informal) “Rulhk” Giving Thanks (formal) “Rulhkhai” SIMPLE ANSWERS / QUESTIONS Yes (informal) “Yuhn” Yes (formal) “Yuhnhai” Agreed (informal) “Yulhn” Agreed (formal) “Yulhnhai” What (informal) “Wuhn” What (formal) “Wuhnhai” SIMPLE ADJ. THE BREWING STORM THE REXKHAN The Year 192 Second Age. "" Wonderful, strong, my pride. The sapling I planted became the strongest tree in the forest. I partook in its keeping and sheltered it from storms. I allowed its roots to grow strong so that it would not be struck down by the falling of other trees. I saw that its bark was hard as to break any axe a lumberman would bring upon it.. Beautiful was the tree too, any who saw it were in awe stuck. It tempted the devils of the woods to cry out against it, for it amongst them made them look as they were: ugly. It was such that it was. "" -The correspondence of Daahd’Lur to the Targoth Jreg’Gorkil after the incident. On the last night of the summer season, the Rex Rue’Lur who had been bed ridden and ill from an unknown substance, slipped into a coma. The substance identified by the court alchemist was some form of poison originating in the Heartlands. The substance, intended for Daahd’Lur was instead ingested by the Rex causing her great pain and inducing a coma. The period of mourning over the Rexkhan is decreed to be no less than two months before the crown of iron is transferred to Daahd’Lur. IT IS DECREED THAT DAAHD’LUR IS NAMED REXKHAN OF LURAK, THAT THE POSITION OF AUTARCH IS NO LONGER A NECESSITY. THE REX HAS FALLEN. LURAKAH-KHANAHK, AHKHAN.

UBUNTU HAS FALLEN . . . THOUSANDS MUST SIEGE HALLOWCLIFFE. They will remember your armies and ours clashing, however only when they recall the reformations of the Uruk army and how our force disciplined and valiant slaughtered your men in castles of twisted collaboration with little casualty. Our armies will be more experienced, more driven, stronger than any on Aevos. Do not mistake this for a simple gloat, or an empty threat. It is a promise. Wherever the forces of the disparager march we will be behind, until we achieve full surrender. Look to the consequences of your resistance. Look how the demands heighten. Remember they only grow day by day, just as your forces resolve weakens. The Spirits are angry, they call for your desolation, they call for the return of the Jungles. 'Deliver this' they ask. Lo' I tell you of how we won upon Ubuntu. It was upon our first volley that a GREAT SPIRIT gave me premonition. The Spirit, one of memory showed me how the battle was to play out if we marched upon Ubuntu, a grand victory. It was the WATER SPIRIT who pointed me up your walls, it showed me how your armies would be slaughtered- at the moment of our victory my mind was made spectral and I could not thrust my blade into your bodies, nor slash your necks- then only did I know it was a premonition of things to come. TRANSPORTED back to my siege camp I decided alone to continue bombarding you until we relieved ourselves of ammunition. Why? Three years had passed since the initial declaration of Wahg. Three years of strife for the Concord of Coastal Companions. It began with the forging of the signature of the Lubba, and verbal abuse which caused the Serene State to withdraw. This act was followed shortly by the declaration of neutrality by Dunfarthing. It was the denial of peace which saw Vortice remove themselves from conflict. Call them cowards, call them 'backstabbers' but would you defend a so called 'ally' who neglects to defend themselves? Throw men and mina down the drain for a lost cause? Whatever the case, the Vikelans had ample time to prepare... The Orcish March waited. To the astonishment and wonder of the world who said: "Why do the Orcs not march upon them! Why do they not belittle them with savagery! Why?!" And the answer was simple. The Red Spirits. It was as with the declaration. The Great Shamans of Lurak went to the Lieutenants of the Four Great Red Spirits, the Blue Spirits, and asked them: "Shall we march, oh friends? The Green Spirits are with us! Oh Blue Spirits, wise in your opinion- why do we hold off on Wahg?" They replied. “DO NOT MARCH O' REX AND AUTARCH OF LURAK, DO MOT MARCH FOR YOU MUST WAIT. FOR IF YOU MARCH NOW YOU FACE THE CURSE OF THE SIXTY.” It was then the Shamans cried: "Oh the CURSE OF THE SIXTY! The Sickness of the Evil Spirits! Allies of Iblees they are! How can it be so that the Sixty (even after exile from the Spirit World) still vex us!" So they waited, and despite not knowing what this curse was they listened to the venerable BLUE SPIRITS, servants of the RED SPIRITS. And they were rewarded, a clear path was laid through what remained of the jungle and unassailed they began their siege. Even while freedoms were repressed in Vikela as was the way of the failed order of heretics. Wahg was upon the world once more.

ON THE URUK THE URUK The Uruk or Orcs are the descendants of Krug, strong and powerful like their forebear however cursed with a lust for blood. While the Uruk at heart always long for battle they are called to find such conflict through honorable means, for above all the Uruk is blessed with honor. Honor, however, does not always mean the picking of 'fair fights' but merely a code of conduct from which all descendants of the mighty Krug are called to live by. The Uruk's curse of bloodlust has at times outweighed their blessing of honor, it is the responsibility of the Uruk to hold themselves to the strict guidelines their people have followed for thousands of years lest they lose their honor and be outcast. The Uruks bond with one another is great and they are by far the most loyal of the races, betrayal is not taken lightly in Uruk society the punishment for this, OSTRACIZATION, a fate worse than death. URUK SUBCULTURES Since the creation of the War Nation of Krugmar many Uruks many natives believed that only one Uruk state could exist, this was where the “Uruk Strong Together” mentality was borne that saw foreign Uruk, despite many having originated in their own Uruk culture and not even mingling with other descendants to be labeled as “no longer Uruk.” While in recent years this has greatly changed with the acceptance of Onii as their own people for example, there still remains prejudice abroad for Uruks having or admiring culture not belonging to the primary group. While this can be a righteous prejudice as in the case of Uruks who completely disregard their own people in favor of another and betray the codes of their ancestors, often this is simply used to silence dissidents from the main band of Uruk; this of course neglects the many Uruk subgroups which have existed for millennia such as: Onii - Uruks of the Far East, often intermingled with Oyashiman cultures. Jotunnar - Uruks of the Far North, interactive through trading and battle with Northmen Cultures and Snow Elves. Desert Uruk - The most common Uruk found in Lurak, the traditional warriors of the desert. RELIGION For Uruk religion is one of the cornerstone pillars of society. Uruk revere the SPIRITS, and communion with them has been a staple of Uruk society since Krug gave such a blessing to his people. The Uruks commune with the spirits via the Shaman who follow in Krug's example. Because of this, Uruks take heart with Shamans and treat them with great respect, however Uruk do hold Uruk Shamans in higher regard than Shaman of other race as they are removed far from the originators of the faith. Lies and affronts against the spirits are not tolerated, and while it is acceptable to believe that the spirits are not the greatest powers it is unacceptable to alter them with taint or to create false narratives of them. The Lodge of Shaman are led by the Motsham; and whilst Uruk religion is not as organized as others Uruk are wise to listen to their spiritual leaders. CLAN STRUCTURE, FAMILIAL BOND, MARRIAGE The Clan is at the heart of Uruk society, for after loyalty to Urukkind the Uruk’s duty is to their Clan. The Clans are led by their Wargoth, the representative of their people who speaks for them at the KLAMOR before the Rex. Actions within this society of Clans are of great importance, actions done that shame the Uruk shame the Clan at large, and conversely actions which bring praise upon the Uruk bring praise upon the Clan. The Clans operate and function in their proceedings with their own customs, though many follow the same structure of government itself with a council of the wisest among them which made decisions for the Clan at large; the role of Wargoth passed down meritocratically and not dynastically. Wargoths are expected to keep their Clan in line, for a dishonorable or disloyal Clan usually means a dishonorable or disloyal Wargoth. For Uruk the bond of family is a tight one and is a bond between all members of the Clan for they share a common ancestry and ideals, it is why pacts made with other Uruk are not taken lightly and often take careful consideration, such as the marriage of two Uruks from different Clans. Additionally those of other races might become HONORARY URUK, through the process of Trials, these Trials bind them to an Uruk Clan and grant them status within Uruk Society. Marriage, especially in Uruk society, is not undertaken lightly- and once enacted rarely is dissolved. Uruk marriage is undergone with the purpose of intertwining the souls of the two Uruk for eternity and it is only disgraceful action that separates the souls in their bond. Marriage usually occurs within the Clan, but can occur outside the Clan as well; it is not uncommon for two Wargoths to allow members of their Clan to marry but the action is not taken lightly and the deliverance of Uruk to another Clan means one less loyal and devout member of the Clan. Marriage rituals are common and vary between Clans though all retain some aspects, there is without exception always trial involved; the proving of an Uruk’s worth to the Clan which is to give away their member to said Uruk’s Clan. Great Hunts, Glorious Battles, and Shamanistic Rites all contribute to a vast array of marriage rituals the Uruks hold dear. URUKAHL, ORCISH The language of the Uruk is URUKAHL, directly translating to "Uruk-Speak," a colorful tongue derived from many influences, and standard amongst the Uruk of Lurak. The language of an Uruk depends on the Clan, Nation, and life experience of the individual Uruk. Uruks who live on the periphery of other cultures might take up certain words or phrases of their people or even speak their language entirely; this was for many centuries frowned upon but recent cultural apparatus views this as a good thing, something which might foster relations and build friendships in other communities in order to gain better treaties, learn new technologies, and secrets. How Urukahl is used is up to the player, it is not a requirement. URUK ART AND MUSIC Art is one of the largest parts of Orcish society whether it be painting, tapestry, or monumental. The Uruk is known mostly for their wide variety of textile art called “Urukfihm” from which they trade actively for the machinery to produce such textiles. “Urukfihm” are known as some of the best rugs, blankets, and tapestries on the market, both in quality and in design. Depending on the Uruks origin these textiles take on different appearances they almost always incorporate nature in some way. This incorporation of nature is true also for Orcish painting which takes place upon most objects. Uruks paint walls, doors, logs, beams, and skulls, if it has a surface that may be painted it is more than likely susceptible to being used as a canvas for Orcish expression. Uruk believe symbols to hold power, especially those in line with more ritualistic and shamanistic beliefs; it is why before battle Uruks paint their armor with wards and symbols of the Spirits they wish to protect them, why Uruks are painted before the wedding ceremony to see their union flourish, why Uruk women are painted in protective wards before childbirth. Paints can vary in origin, but most often natural materials and components are used, in the case of battle wards blood is used. Musically, Uruks have one of the most vibrant cultures on Aevos. Ranging from the tribal calls of ancient Uruk that summon the KLAMOR together to the modern Swivwahg which is used to both bolster the Uruk and tear down opposition. Uruks are known for their musical ability and voices, a loud chorus of baritone Uruk and tenor Goblin which shout out in a beautiful combination and frighten other descendants with their harmonies. URUK APPAREL, STYLE The Uruk have a distinct style that is like no other. Uruks incorporate both Uruk-made and natural apparel; an Uruk might wear a shirt of cotton or silk while also bearing a pelt of wolf hide upon their shoulders. They might wear bracers of silver given to them for service but also wear a necklace of Throqual teeth. The Uruks are greatly connected with the land they live on and wish to not let anything go to waste so they devise elaborate trophies of hunt to wear and incorporate into their clothing. This might even extend into war. Uruk’s do not strut about in luxury as other races are prone to do but show off extravagance through symbols of honor or devotion. If an Uruk is wearing a distinct item, it is important to them personally. The hide of a lion bore on the head and shoulders of the Uruk could be a trophy from a significant hunt in their lives, a necklace of emeralds could be a gift passed down through the Clan at a significant point in the Uruk’s life. The Uruk is not opposed to wearing opulence but rather wishes to see significance in the opulence. It is important to note the habitat in which Uruk’s live also, for if they are an Uruk of the desert or the Jungle the heat might be too harsh to wear certain items such as jackets or shirts. The Uruk’s skin protects them from the sun so they needn’t layer. If the Uruk is of the mountains they might wear mostly the warm pelts of hunts conducted. If the Uruk is separated from their society they might take to the fashion of others, or if the Uruk finds distinct honor in certain foreigners or their culture they might wish to take aspects of it to wear as as a show of friendship and respect. THE KRUGHAI It is the main station of Orcish society, the ultimate goal for many Orcish men and women, that they are considered as an integral part of the Host. Since the origin of the Orcish nation, war has been a staple; for as their curse says, the Uruk will experience bloodlust for his brother, and slay him. And so it was that Uruk took to warband, to raiding party, and demolished opposition; that he went out and slain his brother purposelessly. But these skirmishes, battles, and wars have amounted to little in their hastiness. It is why Krug’s sons have come to conclusions over eons and eras, that their fury must be tamed and utilized. The Host embodies this understanding, for while Uruk will hunger for battle- to shed blood, the Host points such lust toward the correct avenue, towards the deserving. When KRUG did battle with IBLEES, KRUG the honorable and valiant, who turned away from the deceit promised to him by the DAEMON, KRUG fought an opponent deserving of rage. It is not far to grasp KRUG’S teachings. War should be brought to the deserving. War should be brought to the wicked. War should be brought to the craven. So it is then that Uruk lays down the blade against an unworthy target and turns towards the true enemies, the deceivers, the wretched, and the vile. The Host harnesses the Uruk’s might into a disciplined and unstoppable force. Training through day and night the Uruk of the host are taught how to do battle. Whether it be single combat, self-defense, or full-scale conflict, the Uruk of the Host are prepared. The Host is meritocratic, for one’s position in Luraki society does not determine whether they are worthy, but rather their worthiness determines their position in society. At the head of the Host are the Targoths, Generals of the Rexdom who are not just the best specimens of Uruk society physically but also brilliant strategists. Below them are Targests which report to the Targoth and keep order when their General, Autarch, or Rex are not present. The common soldiers of the Host are Krughai, warriors. While they hold no immediate position nor dominion over their companions, they are as their society merits- some of the most respected in Lurak.

UBUNTU MUST FALL THE DEMANDS OF LURAK “You admonish the land, you tear down the ancient trees, you annihilate all life and replace it with its twisted contort. The Shamans say the Spirit Freygoth and Zagbal are angered by the ruination of the jungle, the destruction.” The demands were set for the “Queendom of Vikela,” demands that many saw as too light a sentence for the desolation. "Remove your castles surrounding the capital and attempt to reforest the ancient land which lay scarred and barren; desolated." These demands were denied in council where it was brought to them upon the dissolution of the Confederation. With these demands denied there lay no pathway open to saving the jungle but through war and the replacement of old stewards with new. So it is that with confirmation of the REX and the AUTARCH, LURAK DECLARES AN OPEN STATE OF WAR UPON THE FALSE QUEENDOM OF VIKELA, VIKELA IS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE JUNGLES BY FORCE AND EXILED HENCEFORTH FOREVER. With this announcement, the REXDOM and its allies place themselves in opposition to Vikela and its allies and marches upon them. If Vikela’s allies abandon them to their desolation in their daemon worship, no harm will come to those who lay down arms. The REXDOM makes these demands which will be ceded in full or peace will be denied: The removal of all structures built by Vikela. The replacement of the Queendom with stewards of the forest. The destruction of the daemon statue (it floats upon the waters without voidal intercession!) The destruction of the so-called tree of “five.” Stipends from nations who oppose the just action and prevent it from being a quick endeavor. The permanent exile of the Vikelans from the jungle they destroyed. The Fall of Ubuntu. WARCLAIM: JUNGLE PLATEU 3: THE TREE OF FIVE. WARGOAL: THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DAEMON WORSHIPPERS WITH STEWARDS OF THE FOREST, THE ANNHILATION OF THE VIKELAN DESOLATION. IE: CONQUEST AND SUBSEQUENT TRANSFER FROM LURAK.

REXDOM-LURAK Artwork by @thequeennadine Centuries have passed with Uruk under the banner of the Iron Horde… Centuries of war, bloodshed, and destruction. The question posed to the Wargoths and their Clans: What good have we accomplished? What purpose did those wars serve? The Northern Tribe of the Swiv, driven by two great Warlords, the culmination of their lessons and interactions with the other races has left them with the experience and innovations needed to bring about a new age of Uruk. The Age Lurak. THE AGE OF LURAK The Rexdom was found in rags, their funds spent upon infrastructure and aiding in wars that ultimately doomed their economy. No longer could this be permitted. Was it truly the Lurak who stood alone in the disappointment of the previous administrations? The very culture itself? For years machinations, and manifestations drew closer to the crowning achievement of AUTARCH Daahd’Lur: not ruination of fleets, theft of flagships, slaying of saints, the slaying of Gods, but the crowning of his daughter. REX Rue’Lur. It was in secret that the REX was brought up, and in secret until the day of transfer when Rex Klog’Akaal did cede the crown to REX Rue’Lur child of Daahd’Lur-Targoth. With the transfer; the Horde is mutilated, to be torn apart for only the useful pieces. The bickering tribes and clans forced to conform to form a proper state. Not an Iron Horde but a true state, REXDOM-LURAK. THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE REXDOM, THE AUTARCH, THE ABOLITION OF THE HORDE. With THIS DECREE the HORDE is ABOLISHED. The rise of something greater, a stronger state, not one of weak leadership but one of ABSOLUTE POWER. The REXDOM is established with ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY invested into the REX-LURAK and AUTARCH who alone reserve right to call KLAMOR. REX RUE’LUR @thequeennadine is henceforth given dominion over the lands of the HORDE, THE HORDE will subsequently be referred to as REXDOM-LURAK. TARGOTH DAAHD’LUR @Sean_VEVO will serve as AUTARCH, GENERAL, and ADVISOR to the REX. REFORMATION OF CLANS, REESTABLISHMENT OF WARGOTH, KLAMOR CENSUS will be carried out across LURAK in order to establish an ACTIVE CABINET of WARGOTHS, advisors, and subservient cheifs of the REX. IF CLANS FAIL TO MEET THE CRITERIA DECIDED BY THE AUTARCH THEY WILL BE CONSIDERED MOOT AND ABOLISHED. LAWFUL LEVYABLE LOYAL WARGOTHS MUST ALSO BE REQUIRED TO OWN ONE HUNDRED ACRES OF LAND WITHIN LURAK SEPARATE FROM ROYAL PROPERTIES FROM WHICH THEY WILL PROVIDE FUNDING TO THE STATE VIA THE TAXATION OF THEIR CITIZENS. DECREE UPON STATE RELIGION The RELIGION of THE REXDOM-LURAK is decreed to be reverence of the SPIRITS and ANCESTORS, primarily AZTRAN: SPIRIT OF THE SUN. MAY HE BRING BACK LIGHT INTO OUR DARK WORLD. Other faith and worship is ALLOWED, with the exception of IBLEESIAN WORSHIP. IT IS DECREED THAT GENERAL RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE IS TO BE FOLLOWED. DECREE UPON FOREIGNER FOREIGNERS are permitted within the REXDOM-LURAK so long as they do not break REXDOM LAW or disrespect the WILL of the REX or AUTARCH. Trade is to be managed by the TREASURER and AUTARCH. At any point, the crown may choose to exile foreigners for whatever reason deemed fit. REGARDING “WHITEWASH” WHITEWASH is hereby ABOLISHED. Should URUK prove worthy of OSTRACIZATION to the REXDOM-LURAK they will be punished through LAW and either EXILED or EXECUTED. Being FOREIGN URUK is no grounds for exile, instead, the criteria for exile will be as follows: DISGRACEFUL WEAK WILLED CONNIVING SLOVENLY DISHONORABLE DISLOYAL OTHER APPLICABLE REASONING BY THE REX OR AUTARCH

𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔖𝔴𝔦𝔳𝔢𝔩𝔢𝔯𝔰 𝔖𝔩𝔢𝔢𝔭 𝔴𝔦𝔱𝔥 𝔬𝔫𝔢 𝔢𝔶𝔢 𝔬𝔭𝔢𝔫, 𝔬𝔯 𝔴𝔦𝔱𝔥 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔣𝔦𝔰𝔥𝔢𝔰. The Swivelers, Heartlandic Mountain Uruk, or “Goblin Gangs,” of the Lowlands are a significant subculture of the Broken Bend Valley and subsequently the southern foothills, with some minor incursions into the southern birch climate. The Swivlers exist as a strange remnant of a failed Uruk raid of the Kingdom of Aaun and the Serene Republic of Lurin, and thus remain outlaws to their neighbors, enemies to their rivals, and sworn adversaries of Ferrymen. A History of Swivelers It was in the year 1908 when a small band of Uruk launched a raid upon the city of Whitespire, and finding its gates closed proceeded to torch the countryside moving to Lurin. Once in the Serene Republic they ravaged the populace sparing only an elf who claimed to be from the Kingdom of Balian, then, an ally of the Rex. Upon release, the elf begged nearby Ferrymen for aid, obliging, the Ferrymen launched an attack upon the outnumbered Uruk band who fled into the Eastern Trade Sea. Not very skilled in seafaring, the Uruk band of around 400 were forced to rely on Lurinite sailors whom they kidnapped; several ships, however, in anger, slayed their navigators. In a cruel twist of fate or divine punishment for the crime, the Uruk shipwrecked and in fear of reprisal from the Ferrymen or Aaunites made for the forests. Unbeknowced to them, they wandered into a Halfling ambush and were forced into the mountains north of the valley- entering what would become their home, the Broken Bend. The warband, at their last wits, swore allegiance to the smartest among them, Swiv’Lur; thus did they adopt the name Swiv’Lur’s gang, bastardized by the Broken Bend lowlanders, Swivelers. The warband, knowing that they would be labeled craven or fools for their poor tactics during the raid in Lurin, decided to create a new life and hope in the mountains, and followed Swiv until his death in a raid into Dunfarthing for supplies. His son, Swind’Lur, the new Kapo thus declared permanent enemies of the Halfling race, and the Ferrymen until the blood feud was settled. Swind, who was a rather intelligent Goblin began trade with the Aaunites of the valley until word of Wahg came to them several decades following their settlement. Despite no contact with their fellow Uruk, the Swivelers raided into Aaun from their base in the Southron hills, though the raids abruptly halted when news of their Whitewashing by the Rexdom arrived to their Kapo, who halted their raids in anger and focused upon attacking the supply lines of the Veletzian-Krugmar alliance. Surrounded by enemies, the culture grew estranged; over the subsequent decades, their isolation only furthered them from their homeland until it became somewhat unrecognizable as any culture out of the Iron Horde. Culture The Swiveler culture is one of deceit, honor which emboldens most Uruks is a stranger to the peoples of the Southron Foothills, and it is through the cunning that is taught from a young age to these greenskins that they remain in such a precarious region. The Swivelers follow no masters but their Kapo, and even then, loyalty among them is never guaranteed, as most if not all Swivlers aspire to be the Kapo. If you truly believe you understand the motivations of a member of the Swivelers, you are a fool. As such there is a saying amongst their people: "Never trust a frown, for the teeth are hidden!" It has become a cultural staple to smile during an entire exchange of pleasantries unless harm is wished to be done, in which case, a frown is a tell-tale sign of intent; of course this mostly applies within the gang, and even then the pleasantry will be discarded in favor of a smile to hide ones intentions. (So the pleasantry is meaningless.) Swiv believe any and all but themselves expendable, such is taught to them and often self preservation is encouraged over loyalty and honorable death. Waste is common in their society and it extends beyond the material objects collected; but also to their own allies and troops. Of course, however, the expenditure of life is done with a greater strategical purpose though the feebleminded enemies of Swiv'Lur society cannot see usually see such and focus more on tactics than true Swiv strategy. Swiv wear mostly the fashion of the Heartlands as they do not possess the necessary materials for industrial textiles, though some clothiers exist among them, only the wealthiest thugs among the gang wear such novelties. The exception to this rule is the very identifiable armband worn by initiate members of the gang, the Swivel of Krahg; a spoked wheel. Swiv speak in bastardized Heartlandic Blah, almost unrecognizable as Blah entirely as the traders and criminal dealers that bring most of the wealth into their gang bring back the language of those they exploit as well as the coin from their targets. (For all intents and purposes, they speak normally but with an accent and special wording.) Swiv also learned the art of skaalding from such trading and create music wherever they go, not just for morale purposes but for keeping tempo in march, as well as demoralization of the enemy. Such demoralization is refined into "Swiv-wahg" a stolen tradition from the Norlandic culture of "Flyting," wherein two opponents take turns rhythmically mocking each other; although it must be noted that despite appropriating the event the Swiv tradition is much more musical and often requires instrumentals. Naming Conventions Members of the larger gang are given short, usually one-syllable names, some examples are listed below. Swind | Craw Vex | Kut Dawd | Fidd Burrg | Squeeb Rhiz | Embezz Cull | Foww Hydrahku | Krip Boah | Shmugg The gang name follows the given name. Swiv Terminology Swiv speak in complex gang terminology which is ever developing and manifesting as culture often does, and as such oftentimes come off as more foreign than their cousins; some terms are listed below. Kapo - Warboss, Leader. Goobahn - Idiot, unintelligent. Motzahr - A fine dish of succulent cheese, most often harvested from stolen Heartlander Cattle. Ink Instigator | Missive Moron - Someone who utilizes the notice boards and writing instead of physical action in every situation. Petchren - Easy Pickings. Tusk-Maxxing - The art of sticking one's jaw out to gain a stronger underbite and larger tusk to chin ratio. The Gang - The Swiv culture at large. Tis thing of ours - The gang. Affiliant - Non Uruk ally of the gang. Gitz - Nearly insulting way of referring to an individual. Wahg - War. Swiv-Wahg - War through lyric. Flappah - A nonaffiliant, not to be trusted. Coffah - An affiliant, to be utilized for some quality. Honah - An affiliant, to be trusted. Runty - Small, insignificant. Hum - Human Elf-ting, Elf-shit - Elf Shor-ting - Dwarf Crayhone - Writing utensil often utilized for drawing offerings to affiliants. Whizbag - Any voidal mage. Booyahg - Any magic. Schmoyagel - Mooching. Goobhin - Pretending. Coppahn - Guards (Derogatory.) Musslehn - Guards (Not Derogatory.) Foohglin - Soldier/Warrior Oiashmen - Oyashiman Azdroman - Herald, etc. Bonelard - Lich U'nc - Teacher Neph' - Student

THE WARFORGE OF KRUGMAR _______________________________________________ The sounds of hammering can be heard from the center of Krugmar, heat blasting out the door of the forge. Grunting and singing can be heard, going beat or beat with the hammer. The heart of Krugmar is beating. Whenever war rages, we can see the demand for tools, armor, weapons, cannons, ammunition, increase tenfold. As the cannon fodder rides into battle with glory and honor, we want them to have full trust in the blade in their hands. Even out of wartime, we prepare our soldiers for their next WAGH, as Krugmar is an armory in practice.This story has been told many times, by many mouths, heard by many ears. We must produce. We must create. We must prevail. What The Warforge Provides From the warforge, quality items will be supplied by our manifold smiths. Our job is to take care of all gear needs of the Horde and its close allies. An Uruk asking for gear will not be charged by any means. Our forge will supply any new smiths with quality metals, with many opportunities to learn arts, some examples being Warforging and Haruspexy. We will not expect you to use your own resources to build, but we expect that any Horde resources must be used for bettering the Horde, one way or another. We are an open forge, therefor other bruhdahz will be wurkin in it. SIGNED, BRUNLE KRUGMA'GORKIL [The symbol of a scorpion riding a toad would be stamped here]

These pages are extracts from Fagh's notebook, the writing looks more carefully done and with less smidges than other previous notes. Diary of Fagh 16th The of the Grand Harvest, SA 160 Never knew much about our spirits until some years ago, and I didn't know much about how others view spirits: when the Mothsam accompanied me for the first time to Rahtu-ma, I only knew of our way, our culture, and it was taught to me that it was all that I needed for it was the will of Krug. Also, from my understanding, our Rex and Rahtu-ma do not get along very well, so the decision of is own advisor to expose me to that culture was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Why? Maybe because I asked him for some foreign understanding, but he could have gone with the elves, who have great shamans too, like Ember. Instead he chose Rahtu-ma. Atemu-Ta is what they would call the Pharaoh of their people, the leader and a powerful Netjer, which is apparently a couterpart of our shamans, but more religion-oriented. He is a very serious elf, but has always been polite and helpful to me, and even though our cultures may differ greatly he made the effort to make me understand and learn. Mind you, I'm still going to follow the will of Krug, and will always consider him greater, but it was also polite for me to pay respects to the gods he was so thuroughfully explaining to me-ah yes, Rahtu-mans consider them gods, not spirits. this was a distincion that Atemu deemed very important. He firstly taught me of Tetu, a Sphinx that protects their city against their spiritual enemies, then of his wife Kalthet that helps more in times of war: even through our differences, we at least have a common enemy that they call Isfet and we call buurz, but it's just chaos with different names. He then brought me into this fancy shrine to a goddes tho them most dear: Ahura-ma, the goddes of freedom, which her priesthood hepled to abolish slavery and servitude. We also don't have slavery anymore, and I'm too young to remember a time when it was still done, but it's not as big of a deal as the Rahtu-mans. Their gods, as our spirits, are not always in agreement with each other, and an example of this is Ahura-ma and Hestor, the god of purity and healing: the first believes in freedom above all, and would prefer to kill rather than imprison or take away the freedom of anyone, even the buurz, but Hestor seeks to purify and eventually capturing darkspawn for sacrifice, wich takes away their (not so deserved in my opinion) freedom and goes in contrast with the basic principles of Ahura-ma. He then brought me into this very fancy shrine, it had tall walls and the roof painted as the desert night sky: it was the shrine of Ka-tau, their most important god, lord of sunlight and creation. The huge statue depicting him had a flaming staff they called Ankh. which means life to them. It was very curiuos to me, seeing all that similarities and differences between our spirits and their gods, none of them less tue then the other, but clearly given a different importance. He then showed to me the shrine of Hestor, with fountains of clear water and a countinous, faint sound of cow hooves. She is a bovine purifier, and a fierce enemy of buurz. This is also why the shrine was well protected, as it was the primary target of attacks from various chaos forces. We also have a spirit called Scorthuz, that is more of an unforgiving buurz hunter and has water as his symbol of purification and cleansing. I will seek on learning further of that and more, for my neverending curiosity, the sake of communing better with the spirits and for maybe appease Theruz, the spirit of Knowledge and intellect.

A leather-bound tome lies unattended. The pages are stark and clean, suggesting a recent publishing, or attempts at preservation. You pick it up, curious at the title- what are Long Pigs? The answer is likely not what you hoped. To Cook a Longpig Authored by Barbog, Grubgoth of the Iron’Uzg Translated by the Orcish Cultural Revival And Purity project (OCRAP) For too long, brothers and sisters of the Uruk-hai have been left in the dark by the master butchers and Grubgoths of Uruk society. Perhaps these were never meant to be left secret, or forgotten by the masses, but as times and traditions change, so too has our knowledge of the past. Whilst many brothers may still seek out and butcher the longpig like in days past, there is a distinct lack of etiquette about it, and the dishes prepared (if they can even be called such) featuring longpig are woefully inadequate at best, and a slap in the face of Glutros at worst. I shall do my part in redeeming my misguided brothers, sisters, and any who fancy a decent meal of the most coveted meat. TO BUTCHER A LONGPIG As we all know, there are many types of longpig in the world. From the gamey, lean cutlets of the Mali, to the chewy gristle notable in Dweddish meat. Each variety of longpig brings unique textures and exotic tastes to any dish, but all maintain similar anatomy- and thus, similar cuts. Below is a detailed sketch, drafted by a close friend and confidant- whom I paid in meals, of course! The following parts have been carefully labelled and separated on the drawing; Head, ears, jowl, snout, neck, blades, shoulders, hock, back-fat, arms, hands, ribs, flank, belly, loin, rump, lower hock, leg, shank, and feet. Please take careful note of abnormal, non-descendent races. As one might expect, the belching Wonk or the limber Hou-Zi will undoubtedly be cut differently, as their anatomy grows further from traditional longpig cuts. The Musin shan’t be more than a snack. TO MAKE A MEAL OF LONGPIG Whilst cooking the meat itself is none too dissimilar from a hock of lamb or pig belly, one must be careful when selecting your sides! Longpig has a very distinct tone, and, due to its exotic nature, should not be wasted on unfitting dishes. My personal recommendations are as follows: HUMAN - As time-tested-and-true as beef or pig itself. While certainly a cut above livestock, if not just for the hunt involved in procuring this meat, I personally feel that you have better options. Truly, Longpig is meant to be a rare delicacy, and the abundance of humans leave this rather paradoxical- and the tastes and textures themselves are certainly nothing to write home about. If you were to create a barbaric or uncultured dish, then human meat suits perfectly. Burgers and bacon, perhaps, but leave serving longpig before a king to the Mali or Kha. ELF - As much as they may protest when alive, when you get down to the fundamentals- the flesh itself- they’re really all quite similar. Indeed, the tender, gamey, supple meat of the Mali are among my favorite dishes. I cannot speak highly enough of the feasts I have turned the odd botanist or researcher into. Perhaps it is their natural femininity, or their inclination to bookish things, but elves have an unrivaled, juicy tenderness. The finest of red wines, and the most expensive, outlandish sides could never be enough to compete with the meat itself- but perhaps they may make it better by comparison. DWARF - As the stout, tough race toils hard in their mines and are born with muscles taut as stone, so too is this reflected in their meat. If you wish to cook evenly and deeply with this longpig (or shall we call them shortpig?) , then a good tenderizer and elbow grease is required. I can assure you, though, that they make a most excellent brisket if you do, and there is no better iteration of pulled longpig meat, than that painstakingly torn from the Dwed. HALFLING - While it wounds me as a friend of the Weefolk to have to record an entry that may be mistaken as encouraging their slaughter, I only do so in the highest regard as an objective chef. They are, as one may expect, quite similar to the flesh of the human that some allege they originate from. They have more ‘earthy’ notes to them, which some have suggested come from the divergence of ancestry. This pairs well with heady beers and hard liquors. Should you come across the meat of the half-men, I can only suggest one thing; avoid the feet. They are tough, covered in calluses many, many layers deep, and unlike shucking a clam, does not reward you with good grub. WONK - Their anatomy is, quite simply, repulsive to most casual consumers. Even the meat itself is slick and slimy, and the only cure is to char it into a brick- a cardinal sin that no true cook should ever commit. You have two options when it comes to the Wonk as longpig. You may either attempt to recreate certain seafood dishes with Wonk meat, leveraging that sliminess as one might the slippery raw squid, or slick watery vegetables. This, in my opinion, is the best choice for most of the Wonk’s body… except for their hock, leg, and shank. These are fatty and have a texture somewhere between soft fish and poultry. Best when sauteed and stewed! Fun fact: Wonk legs do not stiffen up as fast as most animals upon their demise, and may even twitch when heated up in cooking! HOU-ZI - An odd choice- and I say that proceeding the Wonk! Whilst there are similarities between the Hou-Zi, and races such as halflings and humans, they are an entirely different beast- No offense to Hou-Zi intended! Truly, they ought not be hunted for their meat, as it is rather bland and chewy in the most unpalatable way. Instead, the true delicacy of the Hou-Zi is in the mind… And I say that in the most physical sense. Chilled Hou-Zi brains. Do not question it, merely enjoy it. KHA - Whilst Kha are very few and far between these days, I would argue that only makes the already-exotic taste of the meat feel only that much more so! Truly, in days where Kha would roam our borders in droves, were days where the Ilzgûl blessed our civilizations. There is something so… utterly indescribably, in the juices of Kha meat. I cannot stress this enough- this meat NEEDS to be served rare, if not raw. Any dangers of undercooked meat are well worth the suffering when beer-basted Kha precedes it. MUSIN - Musin themselves have little meat, and are best served as a side of their own. However, should you find yourself with many little mouse-meals, you may find that they are best incorporated as half-dish. Meals such as a mushroom-and-musin kebab, or a chunky stew, would be a wonderful use for these little snacks. SEZZIKBEKK - While their bodies are quite unappealing at first glance, they hold much meat in their more ‘avian’ parts- the thighs, breast, and (on some specimens with less-twisted appendages), wing-meat. Whilst these may be used as a replacement for more common fowl, such as chicken or partridge, they truly shine when deep-fried. Indeed, while I find few things more delicious in this world than Krugtucky Fried Chicken, I have found their equal in Fried Sezzikbekk. TO PLATE A LONGPIG This will, of course, vary by the meat itself, and how you cook it. Humans, halflings, dwarves, and the like will be suitable as plain affairs- one would not be remiss to see human sliders on a plain ceramic tray, and for good reason. For more ‘exotic’ meats, then rest assured, I recommend firmly to play this up in their presentation. Sauteed wonk with a smooth Teriyaki sauce, Musin kebabs wrapped in palm leaves with carefully-threaded skewers connecting the cutlets, and Deep-Fried Sezzibekk stacked like a tower, with garlic powder and shredded kaktuz sprinkled from high above. All of these are presentations I have seen with my own eyes, and they never cease to entertain and enthrall even the most well-fed of critics. Go with your intuition here, but I must repeat from earlier; do not waste your longpig. The taking of a life is much more special here- a cow or chicken are penned and dumb, and the act of bringing one to your table is of absolutely no note. The battle that wins you a prime dish-to-be of longpig, however, means that the meat itself deserves a higher level of respect. Perhaps you may attempt to recreate aspects of that very battle in your plating, but at the very least it makes an entertaining story to share. AFTERWORD Whilst my advocacy for the consumption and proper preparation of longpig cannot be understated, I do not intend for this book to inspire my brothers and sisters to become butchers for the sake of sport. It is the very act of a well-fought battle that makes the meat taste that much more succulent, the comedy of serving a belly cut deep by your friend’s arrow, that is to truly ‘make the meal’. To turn them into common chattel is right-out. Livestock has grown complacent, boring, and dare I say, a turn-off to many chefs. Respect the intent behind serving longpig, by not abusing the source the Ilzgûl have so generously provided. They are the sustenance after a battle, not some simpering beast to be penned and bred for grub alone. But, above all else; Cook well, my friends. -Barbog

The fe-Uruk grunted with effort as she swung her legs over the fallen tree, traveling through the jungle was a grueling task normally, but the recent thunderstorms mixed with the sweltering sun to create a truly humid hell. The Uruk’s heavy foot splashed through a creek, scattering the minuscule fish, she paused for a moment, catching her breath as she squatted low and drank from the stream, She could hear the hundreds of birds and insects calling out in the jungle around her, nature's orchestra filling her with with satisfaction and mirth. She felt almost at home among the wild places of the world, her bare feet pounding the earth, wind in her hair, sweat sliding down her skin. Her stomach growled and she stood up, now was not the time for relishing simple pleasures, she had come as a predator, and nature was commanding her to hunt. Trudging from the stone bed of the creek, she climbed the red clay bank and entered the muggy jungle once more, she walked slowly as she carefully measured the nearby trees, finally she spotted a young, sturdy tree, near the thickness of her muscled forearm. With a grin she unslung her hefty war axe, spinning the weapon a few times in her hand before going to work. The steel head bit deep into the green wood, with a hearty thunk. Her scarlet skin stretched over powerful muscles as she felled the tree, and with a contented grunt she sat on a boulder and began her work. The sun was hanging low in the crimson sky, the Uruk hoisted the crude pike over her shoulder. It stood twice as tall as the female did, a sharp point had been cut on one end. The small limbs had been hewed clean, and the tip hardened in a small fire. Now armed with a proper weapon she travelled east through the thorny thicket, and towards the Steppes that bordered her jungle homeland. She climbed over fallen trees, cut her way through thick underbrush, and carefully scaled down limestone cliffs. As walked through the emerald soaked landscape she thought of home, the modest dwelling she had claimed, the warmth of her fireplace, her small but well stocked kitchen, and of her adopted daughter Jenny, a gangly young human, with long tawny hair. She longed for the comfort of the city, yet another more primal part was revealing in the humid scenery. She knew the winter season was coming, and while her home was warm throughout the year, it made hunting and gathering a troublesome prospect. The Uruk was pulled from her thoughts when she stepped to the jungle's edge. In front of her lay a rising full moon, a vast open plain lay before her, with soaring mountains further east. She walked through the waist high grass, letting her hands lightly graze the feathery tops as a tenacious southern wind picked up, causing rippling waves to form among the grass, her hair swishing like a banner or flag in the breeze. Her ears twitched as she heard the distant bellow of her quarry. A deep primal urge began to boil in her blood as she gripped the pike tightly. She headed south along the border of the jungle and the steppe, staying down wind as she began to find more signs of her prey. Immense patches of grass had been torn from the ground, and mammoth piles of dung marked this as the grazing grounds of the Prairie Dulk. She spotted a dust cloud rising further east as the herd moved towards a gorge to bed down for the night. She crouched low and began to move from boulders, to the small sturdy trees that managed to grow in the rocky soil. She knew she had the wind in her favor, all she had to do was get closer to the colossal beasts without being spotted. She slid smoothly to the ground, crawling on her belly as she inched over the crest of a hill. There laid before her was a herd of Dulk, seventeen of them as far as she could tell. A Prairie Dulk was no woodland beast to be brought down with a simple hunting bow, these were the Kings of the Steppes, somewhat comparable in size and shape to the War Rhinos of Uzg, their thick grey fur and rough armor like hide was one of nature's best defenses, while their powerful legs and long ivory horns marked death for any of those who were fools or unlucky. Kuku had to consider her options carefully, the females would be pregnant now, and she didn’t want to upset the balance of nature by taking the life of a yet unborn Dulk; However, fighting one of the young males was asking for a gruesome death, while a heffer Dulk will protect her young even at the expense of her own life, if given the chance she’d retreat to safety so long as her calf was safe, the males on the other hand, seemed to crave fighting, often spending their days battering each other, or trampling a starving wolf into the dust. Suddenly the moon crested the cliffside, and as if the spirits themselves were guiding Kuku, the moon shown upon an elder Dulk, his fur was near stark white, with lengthy scars snaking over his leathery hide, marking him an old warrior of the herd. The female Uruk’s breath caught in her throat, as she knew this elder was meant to battle her, one of them would die a warrior's death this night, she was sure the spirits had brought them together. As if by magic, clouds covered the moon, plunging the Uruk and the Dulk herd in darkness once more. She began a long, treacherous climb down the cliff that encircled the gorge, creeping around the bulk of the herd like a wolf stalking its prey. Finally she drew near the imposing creature, even when laying down the Dulk’s shoulder was taller than the She-Uruk standing, but Kuku pressed on. She could see mighty muscles along his flanks and legs, and obsidian colored hooves that were as wide as her hips, no doubt one blow from them would send any hunter to an agonizing death. She inched forward and came to his almighty head. His amber colored eye watching her closely, the beast, was awake. Kuku swallowed hard as she saw the Elder begin to shift, it’s monstrous form shaking with effort to bring the Dulk up, it had been watching her for some time now, yet it hadn’t alerted the herd. The hair on the back of her neck prickled as the beast rose to its full height and towered over the seven foot tall Uruk. It dipped it’s head low as if in respect and Kuku made a silent albeit urgent prayer to Freygoth, the Uruk Spirit of Nature. With a roar that threatened to deafen the Uruk the beast lifted it’s head, the herd had begun to stir and the young males snorted and rose to their hooves in confusion, not yet aware of the intruder among them. The Elder pawed the earth, ripping small boulders from it, his ebony hooves plowing the earth as he prepared to charge. Kuku hefted the pike from her shoulder, ramming the butt of the crude weapon into the earth to secure it, she leveled the spiked end at the Dulk Elder’s throat and crouched, her left foot placed upon the rammed earth and pike butt to steady it. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears, her blood boiled and hands gripped the rough hewn handle so hard, her red skinned knuckles turned a deep violet shade. She watched the Elder in slow motion, it’s hooves gouging the earth, it’s eyes wild with nature's instinct to kill. She knew today may very well be the day she dies, crushed under those black hooves, or worse yet, impaled upon the torso length horn. She thought of home again, the smokey bar where she spent many a night watching spars in the fighting pits, and drinking with her friends and family. She thought of the many memories made, and prayed to the spirits that she would have more memories left to make. She redoubled her focus as the earth shook, her teeth rattled in her skull, the titantatic mass of fury and muscle was bearing down upon the she-Uruk. The pike slid along the thick fur and toughened hide, she watched with dread as the crude spear tip missed the titan’s neck and impacted it’s right shoulder. The pike bent in the middle as the Elder impaled himself before shattering into splittners, she didn’t have enough time to react as he swung his head, the beast narrowly missed Kuku with it’s horn, though his gigantic head collided with her and sent her hurtling back a few yards, there was a sickening crunch as she landed and she felt a few of her ribs break. She nearly lost control of her bloodlust when the pain washed over her, gritting her teeth she rolled onto her side and pushed herself up into a low crouch. Agony washed over her as she struggled to breath, a trickle of blood spilt down her maroon lips and dripped from her chin, but she had been trained by the best of Krungmar’s warriors, and she pushed the pain into the back of her mind and stood tall once more. Kuku unslung her old friend and the axe’s blade shone dimly in the scattered moonlight. It’s familiar weight and the smooth wooden handle brought her comfort. The earth was trembling once more, the Uruk gripped her weapon tightly and made ready to die. The Elder wheeled around, the end of the pike jutting from it’s shoulder as thick blood slid down it’s furry leg. He puffed great breaths that shook the grass in front of him as he roared another challenge at the Uruk. She rose to her full height, the axe held with both hands as she screamed back at the beast. The two began to run towards each other as the wind picked up once again. There were no thoughts, or memories of home now, her mind was blank as her training and battle instincts took over. Her long muscular legs carried her quickly towards the great monstrosity, she raised her axe high over her shoulder, and at the last moment, twisted expertly away from the gleaming spike. She brought the axe down with a mighty blow, her rippling tendons bulging with effort. Kuku could heard the Elders thigh bone snap as her axe bit deeply into the beasts leg, she could feel the muscle and sinew tearing, the Dulk’s injured leg had given her a small opportunity, the limp had left him open to attack on his side and she exploited it to the fullest. The Elder bellows in pain, unable to stop the forward momentum his head digs a large trench as he crashes to the ground. His herd begins to snort and paw at the earth as they watch their herd member fall. The female Uruk circles the beast, watching as he struggles to stand, she comes to a stop near the Elders head to look in his eye. She can see the distress, and pain in his gaze. He looks away towards his herd and lets out one last thunderous roar, there is a long moment of silence followed by the sounds of the herd moving away from the battle ground, heading towards the high mountains. The Elder breathes deeply one last time, he knows his time on Almaris has come to an end. He had led his herd through many harsh winters, protected them from wolves and hunters, and he could at last find rest. Nature had granted this old Dulk a worthy death. The mighty beast closed his eyes for the last time, and awaited his peace. Kuku raised her axe above her head, praying a thank you to all the spirits, but especially to Freygoth for giving her this successful hunt. She knows that as she takes from nature, she too, will one day return to nature. The axe sinks cleanly into the beast's throat, and the breath eases from it’s lungs. The Female Uruk relishes the feeling of the Elders blood spraying on her, taking a moment to catch her breath. She looks out over the Steppe, the clouds parting once more to reveal a grand grass ocean, and in the far distance lays her jungle homeland. She tugs her axe from the Dulks corpse with a sigh as the blood dries on her skin. Her fight might be over, but there is still much work to do. She thinks to herself with a small smile, the howling of wolves can be heard, carried on the chilling night breeze. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for reading through this short story! I've begun writing again as a way to practice and improve, so criticism is welcomed. I need to state I have the express written permission of Satyrdays to 1) Write about Kuku, 2) Post this to the forums. With that out of the way I also need to state that this story in no way relates to the server, this is just a fun short story about a hunt, it DID NOT happen in roleplay. Thank you once again and I should be posting (Hopefully) One short story a week!

(Music) An orc sits before a pyre of flesh and bone impaled with a family heirloom, from his place he plays a small hand-drum with bloodied palms. He was weak - not physically, but mentally, and spiritually, lacking honor - this orc was untouched by the curse, not that of Iblees’ doing, being unhinged anger, but instead the curse of utter ignorant obedience, the omens had shown that the stars would align, though no immortal was to credit such signs, instead - the orc knew truth, his very own ilk, be it brother or grandmother had laid such hints before him, and as an orc of little purpose, he knew his only option was to heed the words of a long since unspoken maw. He had ingested copious amounts of shrogo mushrooms and cactus green, leaving his senses overwhelmed, he could feel the wind gently pierce his skin, as if it traveled right through him - a tingle overcoming his physical form, leaving him in a relaxed state of sedation. The smoke from the pyre began to shift, as if it was it’s own entity, swirling and distorting, smoke rings often floating within the air like a lone music note held unto it’s utter climax in which it would finally dissipate, leaving the stage for yet another in its wake. Soon colors saturated his vision, the orange hues of the pyre warming earning the unaltered focus of the drum-playing uruk, it was almost as if he played for the flame itself, as it formed to /dance/ with the wind that coincidentally would pick up as the drumming grew more intense.. Eventually - the uruk realized the otherwise silent audience that was the forest around him, was hushed no longer, beneath the echoed drums, crackling pyre and whistling wind, was a soft hum radiating from the trees, plants and fungi spread throughout, such a sound played in well with the feeling of utter static which had consumed him from the stomach down, as if his own vessel spoke back to the whispering jungle. Before he the orc could take in his surroundings, he began to notice fractals forming upon his beige hide, showing themselves where the moon and fire shed light, changing in unfathomable ways, getting smaller and smaller, larger and larger not one shape was alike, and not one shape was anything he had before encountered. Finally, a faint ringing began to fluctuate around the uruk, one which he felt within his horned skull.. The pyre began to change yet again.. Though this time, not in sync with the drumming which the uruk had somehow fought to maintain throughout this state of altered consciousness. Beneath the pyre within the dirt sat a stone bowl of scarlet ichor, which he had drained in offering from his very form, to accompany the gift of flesh from those slain and left within the pyre as fuel alongside the now charred oak and marrow. The blood began to bubble whilst it’s shade deepend, and whilst the uruk seemed unphased, a cold chill came over his spine, nearly halting his playing.. Although, as to ward off those he did not seek to entertain, he kept on for instinctual survival. Soon, the pyre had began to fade, leaving only orange coals in its absence, one’s which flickered and distorted similarly to the fractals upon his arm.. Which - he had finally realized, were not constrained to just his body and the remnant pyre, but now - they were displayed all upon the observable landscape.. And whilst this was something to leave him within awe alone.. His calls were finally received.. Something seemed to rise from the bowl, mixing within the less violent smoke rolling from the vanquished bonfire, more distorted than the shapes which warped his very reality.. But soon it became clear, as if his eyes were opened by the entity.. whom revealed itself; A figure now stood before him, phantasmal and unbound, manifesting in place of the stone bowl, a familiar uruk stood before the overwhelmed. Above this orcish brute’s image was a rhino, one missing an eye, not unalike the uruk it towered behind. The drum playing Uruk (Ixula) lifted focus now unto the figure, ceasing his playing finally.. It was now he was truly frozen, unable to speak nor think freely, it was when realization came, that he understood who had displayed the omens and every bone within his body were consumed with simultaneous dread and shame. Tears welled within the eyes of the weakened uruk began to drip down his tan skin, recognition sprayed amongst his scarred and grizzly visage. His own father - long since fallen, stood now before his offspring, with a cold, disappointed and yet - plainly stare, one sharp enough to make any child drop this head. His father was a beast of the Horde, having fought his way through Vailor and beyond - losing an arm in battle for his clansmen of Braduk, whilst too bringing valorous honor unto both his Braduk, and Dom ancestors, even if not simultaneously doing so. He had given an eye unto the spirit of Ixli for forbidden knowledge, bled himself to near death for Enrohk and slain hundreds of drui’ in the name of Leyd, this brute had accomplished much, even if unblessed by the rest of the spirits for his disobedience - this uruk was everything that embodied the pride, yet restraint, dominance yet honor, that every orckin sought after. And so his failure was immense, to be the son of a great orc, with nothing accomplished for himself, two centuries had been his thus far allowed existence, horns sprouted from his cranium, and yet still - no honor nor greatness deserving of such a crown. Tears continued, whilst words remained choked upon - all which he could muster, was a broken and scratchy - “Popa..” limbs far too heavy to lift from the goat-skinned drums, his spine locked up and leaving him beneath his superior ancestor, whom finally spoke.. “Weak..this is what they say.. Your brothers have died outside the walls fighting for honor, whilst you’d prefer to rot from within them.. Do not call unto me if you do not seek change.” The spirit spat out, pacing now around his son, the image of the rhino following. “You bleed not fire, but instead lard, you grow fat and lazy, leaving your bloodlust to control you, whilst your slaves do your labors.. Be this the way of the orc?” The spirit shook his head at his own question, extending his blade-arm out to the chin of his successor, one which - while immaterial, felt colder than the night-air which bit down upon the unmoving uruk’s flesh. “You are Ikrizh, born of blood and ire, made to conquer and sustain, your honor is your shield, and your wisdom your sword, and yet you’ve replaced it for the warbow which is your bloodlust, hiding behind the walls, whilst allowing luck to place your shots fatally upon the enemy.. And yet you are no Lur who masters the art of such weaponry, you are a pig with an elf’s toy, and be it as it must - it has weakened you..” “I am all things you can be, and yet none of them. This is your doing, your failure, but too is it your redemption - I was conquered in the end, half a millennia of war with the immortals left me free to their lies, I consumed their lessers like you do cactus, and it began to take my strength, and my sanity.. This is not your path.” He called now, standing before his son with a small pile of charred bone procured from the pyre. “You are to grow past this, we live not to honor the immortals, but to unite our ancestors for union, hear throat bound songs, feel the heartbeat of their drums, and do not lower yourself to them, for we are ORCS, and bow to none but our own curse if allowed to consume our very being.. You will praise none but those who walked the path before you, they will show you the path to honor, they will reawaken all that has been lulled into slumber, and your senses with it - shall return, you will not forget the ways of Kulgarok that I have taught you, the druids will one day know of your strength, and soon after the spirits, immortal and ancestral, will know your truth, even if the former ensures nothing but turmoil in its wake..” The bone turned to ash then, blowing off in the wind.. “You will sacrifice your slaves, and begin.. Call unto Ixli for the wisdom a final time, grant him an eye, for even a small glimpse of their wisdom is costly, after this - every honorful kill will be given unto Leyd or the ancestors, you will not bow to none other, and be you to disobey - you will die long before your horns kill you from the inside out.” “Your fire shall burn longer with each honorific trait upheld, every heart offered, and through the scars you gain, you will display truth, you will become a mural of strength and valor through them, and use them as experience to avoid your next meet with Kor, do not fail me kub.” The orc finally ceased - old blah rang through the younger’s mind like water from a stream, he had only grasped it’s meaning from his upbringing, but held onto such teachings so that he could forever understand and speak to his ancestors - even when such words are not returned. Ixula now knew his purpose, freed from dishonor for a final time, he would begin to consume the knowledge his father once did.. Leaving his pyre after his senses returned.. The uruk began, knowing watchful eyes were held unto him at all times.
