 FOR MANY LONG YEARS HAS OUR BELOVED BROTHER, Sir Rudolf Lothar Barclay, stood in service to Reinmar, his loyalty unbent by time and unburdened by expectation of reward, serving with some distinction as Herrenmeister these twenty-two years past, ever diligent in the ordering of war when duty calls, and in his tireless provision and keeping of fine Reinmaren Thoroughbred horses, by which Our forces have been made swift and well-mounted.

It is therefore meet that We, in the fullness of Our princely duty, do now grant and bestow upon him the Barony of Adelgar with all rights and and honors thereto belonging; to be held in perpetuity, and passed onto his children, and their children, and so on.

Further, We do decree that he and all his issue shall, as of this ascension, previously having been known as Barclay, take and bear the name of von Adelgar, and be known thereby in all dealings from henceforth.

GATHER HEED,

When the folk stood gathered, I took my place before them and asked: "Who among you will take the law into their hands? Who will sit the stone-seat and bear the weight of the Kanun?"

None answered. No man rose. No woman stepped forth. The old gave no names. The young made no claim. And so, by the stillness of the tribe, I was named Lawspeaker. This is no crown. This is no cloak of gold. It is a chain about the neck, a blade at the back. But I took it all the same, for no tribe walks long without its tongue. And the Kanun is our tongue. So I am seated as Lawgiver and Lawspeaker by the will of the folk assembled in Moot. The tribe spoke with silence, and so I have answered with oath and burden.

See then, the events that transpired in this Moot, put under record and upon stone.

In that same Moot came a man who was known to some and watched by many. His name was Johannas Stroheim, a healer by trade and a man of quiet bearing.

He stood before the ring and spoke not for glory nor gain, but for place among us—to shed the name of guest and take up the mantle of tribesman. He sought blooding, and he sought it not as a stranger, but as one who had lived near our fire.

And then the hands rose. Men of the tribe, and women of station, lifted voice on his behalf. They vouched for his steadiness. They vouched for his honour. They spoke of his craft in tending wounds, his gentleness of manner, and his strength when it mattered. By their voices, the circle was moved. So I turned to Johannas and asked him before all: "Will you walk the way of our tribe? Will you cast off the old name and take one rooted in our soil, sworn to our law, loyal to our way?" And he said, “Aye.”

Then let it be written and remembered: he was blooded that day before the eyes of the folk, and he took the name Hans, as is our tradition—to mark the shedding of the old and the beginning of the new. But I say this also: Blooding is not word alone.

So I gave him a charge: "By the ending of the Saint’s Week, take up bow or spear and seek a stag—not the weak nor the wounded, but a proud beast worthy of tale. Fell it with your own hand. Raise then a stone, carved by your own blade, and mark upon it your name, the date of your blooding, and the beast you slew. That way, your blooding shall not live in tongue alone, but in stone and story."

For the land remembers what men forget.

Then came quarrel, as it always does where pride walks beside man.

Erminhilde, a daughter of the tribe, had spoken hard words against the folk of Wesenburg. Slander was named, and honour stained. The quarrel was not born of blades, but of the tongue -that sharpest of weapons. She came before the Moot not with denial nor deceit, but with plain speech. She admitted her fault. She named her sin. And she withdrew the words that had wounded. She put this upon in writ later.

The kin of Roland and Varik, hearing this, did not press the wound. Instead, as men do who keep the Kanun, they broke bread. Peace was made-not by silence, but by the shared act of closing the wound with salt and crust, and so they broke bread.

Let this be known and bound:

Slander is named shameful in the eyes of the Kanun. But so too is the man who digs up a buried quarrel and shakes dust upon it anew. A wrong was done, but it was answered. Let none stir that ground again. He who speaks of it henceforth sins not in defence of truth, but in rejection of peace. So says the Kanun.

Here I speak with weight and sorrow. The Moot was called. The circle was full. But when I raised my voice and invited reply, I heard only the breath of the wind. Where were the quarrels? Where was the laughter? Where were the cries of “Nay, that is not just!” or “Aye, let it be so!”?

We are not men of parchment. We are not a people of ink and decree. We are not in marble halls whispering in robes. We are Reinmaren—a folk whose law is not carved in one tongue, but spoken in many. A people whose law is not carved in dead tongue but spoken in the breath of living men. The Moot is not a script to be read, but a fire to be fed. The Moot is the hearth of that law. If it falls silent, the fire dies. If I alone speak, and none challenge nor praise, then the Kanun becomes brittle. It grows hollow. It rots. This I will not allow. I do not want the law to be my voice. I want it to be ours. Raise your voices, folk of Reinmar. Speak not only when wounded. Speak to guide. Speak to question. Speak to uphold. The Moot is not a stage for one man. It is the root of the tribe. If the root rots, the tree falls.

The Moot cannot live if all tongues are stilled. I looked out and saw only eyes, not voices. If the Moot dies, so does our way. Speak. Bring quarrel. Bring praise. Bring judgment. That is how the Kanun breathes. The Moot is the root of our law. Yet when I stood before it, I saw no fire in the eyes, no thunder in the chest. Too many watched, too few spoke. This is not our way.

 I will not drag the law of our forefathers behind me like a cart. I will not carry the law alone. And be ye noble, or a free tribesman, when you come to the Moot, speak.

And if silence grips your tongue, then I shall loosen it. Let it now be law, by my word and by the stillness I was made to bear:

All who come to the Moot shall henceforth pay the Moot-tithe: three silver marks.

These marks shall be spent in full on the buying of Mootbier, drawn from the tavern. The casks shall be brought to the Moot, and poured before all. There shall be no empty hands nor dry throats. For a dry man is a silent man—and I would rather deal with drunken quarrel than empty air. Let the ale stir the bellies, let the mouths run hot, and let belligerency rise like steam from stone. I would rather hear bellowing and bad judgment than stillness and cowardice. Better the man who speaks folly than the one who keeps wise silence and does nothing.

So drink, you lot. Then speak. Then brawl, if need be. For this is how the Kanun lives—not in peace, but in passion.

For the running of the Moot, as the Lawspeakers of old,

I call for two Hirdmen. Men or women of strength and honour, to uphold justice, enforce the Kanun, and stand firm when law is challenged.

I call for two Lawmen. Folk of sense and learning, who can speak the Kanun, help judge disputes, and proclaim justice before the fire.

Lords, landed men, elders and youth alike - I expect your voice in the Moot. This law is ours, not mine. If the tribe is silent, we drift like leaves on the wind. Let this be known.

Now that the law has been spoken and the quarrels laid bare, I speak as Skald, not Lawgiver. It is not enough for a tribe to be ruled. It must also remember. Our laws are bones, but our stories are blood. Our judgments build walls, but our songs fill the halls with warmth. A tribe that forgets its stories is like a man with no name—he walks, but no one knows him. So I give you now a tale, as our fathers did when the Moot fire burned low and the mead horn passed from hand to hand - for the Lawspeaker speaks not only law, but is the memory of the tribe. 

Let the children hear. Let the old men nod. Let the tale be told. Here now is a Reinmaren tale. Listen. Remember. Speak it again.

In the Age of the Undead, during the Reinmaren flight to the North, Theoderic and brethren loyal to him thus traversed the untamed wilderness with his band of four hundred valiant Hird. Guided by destiny, they so stumbled upon this fateful encounter, a battle between unfamiliar forces of Waldenfolk.

Theoderic's voice thundered like the storm of winds across the wilderness, as he spoke to his trusted riders, gathered like the warriors of old, beneath the shadow of this here towering runestone:

"Hearken, noble comrades! In our wanderings, we came upon a clash of blades, a battle fought by unknown warriors. We here carry swords upon our hips, not in the manner of timorous souls, but in the way of true champions. To turn and flee, as craven folk, is an affront to our honor. We must extend our aid, but to which side shall we lend our strength? The victors or the vanquished?" Chieftain Theoderic shouted, and his eyes aflame like a maelstrom. 

His loyal brethren, their sinews like the gnarled roots of ancient trees, spoke in unison, their voices resonating as such; "To aid the victors seems the prudent course. Our numbers are few, and our might may not sway the course of the battle."

Theoderic, however, shook his head, his gaze fixed upon the horizon. "Nay, dear brethren, such counsel is the path of the faint-hearted. To be a true warrior is to aid the vanquished, to strike with the fury of thunder and bring relief to those ensnared in despair. Genuine valour does not dwell in the ease of the chosen path, but in the extension of our might to those most in need, for this is the hallmark of a true warrior of the Rein."

With hearts steeled, they advanced. Tjudmund, whose skill with the chisel was legendary, took note and thus carved these words. This stone was raised by Alaric in memory of Theoderic, his father's son. He was unjustly denied a death in battle, yet his honour echoed in these plains. Ever will stand this memorial.

DAS AUSLIEFERUNG EDIKT | THE EXTRADITION EDICT

In the year of our Lord 2006

ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR,

IN INTEREST OF DIPLOMACY, the Landtag must enact procedures and definitions for existing extradition agreements.
 

Definition of Fugitive

An individual who commits a crime of wrongdoing against Reinmar and her people as defined by the Kanun and adjudicated by the final word of the Lawspeaker who has left the boundaries of Reinmaren territory.
 

Definition of Jurisdiction

A land where a body of law like the Kanun or other stands. This includes the land of the tribe of Reinmar or other tribes or kingdoms.

Definition of Authorized Officials

The Fürsten, the Lawspeaker of Reinmar, the Bailiff of Reinmar, and their delegates are granted the authority to discuss extradition transfers with foreigners if a known foreign fugitive is in custody.
 

Sharing Information

Authorized tribesmen will be sent to other realms that have extradition agreements and they are to share updated lists of fugitives in Reinmar and receive updated lists of fugitives from the realm in question.

Proper delegates of the other realm must share this information and host these transfers, otherwise anyone not of the proper position shall not be recognized.
 

Receiving Fugitives

When a foreign delegation arrives with a known fugitive to hand over, an authorized official must be notified of said fugitive and of the name of the delegation leader.

The fugitive will then be held in custody until the Lawspeaker makes a decision proceeding the matter.
 

Transferring Fugitives

The fugitive of another realm must be held in custody if identified and confirmed.

Once held, the concerned realm’s officers will be notified to schedule a transfer or to defer further action. If there is no reply in the next two Saint’s weeks the fugitive must be released if not already a criminal of Reinmar.

Dispute Resolution

Fugitives wanted in two or more realms shall be held in custody until delegations from the realms arrive to concur in a meeting.

If only one jurisdiction replies within the span of two Saint’s weeks, the fugitive will be transferred to the sole communicator and the issue considered settled.

This meeting will include the Fürsten, and the Lawspeaker, with the delegates, to discuss the severity of the crimes. With circumstances of political and diplomatic weight factoring into the final decision of the Fürsten as a diplomatic matter.

Let it be known, that Adelmar the skald and farmer brings before the tribe a law to be added to the Kanun into Chapter III, Book One of the Grand Kanun: Wrongdoings.

XI. ON DISHONOURING OF THE DEAD

It is said among the Reinmaren: “The earth knows no peace where bones are cast without prayer, and the hills wail when the dead are forgotten.” Let this be the Kanun’s judgment: that to abandon one’s kin to an unmarked grave is to strike the very soul of the tribe and draw the ire of Gott, who holds dominion over the living and the dead alike. The dead cry out for remembrance, and it is the duty of the living to answer. Let none among the Reinmaren leave their fallen untended, lest they bring shame upon their house and sorrow upon their line.

XI.II. THE FAMILY’S BURDEN
Let the family of the deceased undertake the rites with diligence and reverence, as the first keepers of their memory. They shall cleanse the body, offer prayers to Gott, and recount the deeds of the departed so that their name endures among the tribe.

If the family fails in this, be it through folly, strife, or willful dishonor, the Kanun declares that their negligence shall not stand. The princely household shall assume the rites, preserving the honor of the departed and the tribe alike.

XI.III. ON THE CONSEQUENCES OF DISHONOR
It is said: “The ground that holds an unhonored dead burns cold, and the tribe that buries shame shall reap ruin.” Should a family refuse their sacred duty out of spite or dishonor, they shall be named accursed by the Kanun.

The head of such a family shall render a payment of silver to the princely household, and their name shall be inscribed among the annals of shame, to remain until they perform penance and seek the absolution of Gott and their kin.

Let it be known, that Adelmar the skald and farmer brings before the tribe a law to be added to the Kanun.

I. ON THE WEARING OF ATTIRE
“A man who forsakes the garb of his tribe is like a bird without feathers; he is neither beast nor sky-bound.” So says the Kanun: the Reinmaren must clothe themselves in the symbols of their blood and station, for attire speaks not only of the man but of the unity of the tribe. To neglect this duty is to invite disorder into the Moot and dishonor upon one’s house.

Let it be known:

• Every tribesman must don a green cloak, signifying their bond to the Reinmaren kin.
• Every tribesman must wear a linen cap bearing the colors of their household, declaring the house to which they belong.
• Every warrior must bear a fur arming cap, marking their readiness to defend the tribe.
• Every geehrtes must adorn a felt-and-fur cap, honoring their station among the esteemed.
• Every chieftain must crown themselves with a coronet of silk, reflecting their charge over their kin.
• The Princess shall bear the weight of her crown, symbol of her sacred duty to the tribes.

Let the Moot be a place of reverence, where all attire shines with the dignity of our forebears.

II. ON THE CREATION OF THE WARDER OF THE MOOT
“When the hall is without order, the hearth burns cold.” So commands the Kanun: let there be one among the tribe, entrusted with the dignity of the Moot, who shall bear the title of Warder of the Moot. His charge shall be to ensure that the customs of the tribes are upheld, and that none enter the Moot in disregard of their station.

III. DUTIES OF THE WARDER

1. The Warder of the Moot shall stand before the door of the Moot Hall, barring the way with a stick of cedar, carved with the mark order and unity. None may pass until the Warder has examined their attire and declared them in accordance with the Kanun.
2. At the gathering of the Moot, the Warder shall ensure that all tribesmen are seated according to their rank, their garb reflecting their station.
3. When the Lawspeaker enters, the Warder shall strike the cedar stick upon the ground and command the Moot to rise, saying: “Stand for the Kanun!”
4. The Warder shall oversee the Moot Hall’s upkeep, ensuring its banners are clean, its hearth lit, and its sanctity preserved.
5. The Warder shall make record of those who defy the Kanun’s attire, and they shall be brought to justice before the Lawspeaker at the next Moot.
6. Let the Warder also be known as the host of that Moot. And as a host is bound onto his guest, let the Warder be responsible for the treatment of the tribesmen of the Moot as hallowed guests. So says the Kanun: The Warder must provide for every Moot twenty two alehorns of beer, and of meat to feast.

IV. PUNISHMENT FOR DISREGARDING ATTIRE
“A man who enters the Moot in defiance of his station is like a wolf in sheep’s wool, gnawing at the tribe’s harmony.” Let it be known: any who appear at the Moot without the attire prescribed by the Kanun shall be fined one ox’s worth in silver and shall be denied voice in the Moot until they comply. Should they persist, their name shall be marked in the annals of shame, and their kin shall bear the stain of their dishonor.

Thus speaks the Kanun: the Warder of the Moot shall guard the dignity of the hall and the unity of the tribe, as ordained by Gott and our forebears. Let none take their station lightly, for the tribe stands strongest when its people stand in honor.

V. ON MARKING

“Whence a man of the tribe visits a neighbor, he lets out a call. Whence he visits the woods, he marks upon the tree where his feet had touched the soil.” So says the Kanun, when a tribesman attends the Moot, he shall stand in kindred spirit with his tribesmen, and make his presence known. Let who steps forth into the Moot make a mark upon the cedar stick of the Warder of the Moot a rune with his seax, and let all sessions of the Moot have the corresponding cedar be stored for future to tell tale of attendance.

Let those runes listed be the runes to be inscribed upon the cedar of the Warder;

RUNHILD’S EDICT

In the year of our Lord 1987

ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR,

RUNHILD, THE LEGENDARY WARRIOR, wife and hirdwoman to Chieftain Leofric, was the first Reinmaren shieldmaiden. From her springs a long line of women warriors, yet our most sacred lawbook the Grand Kanun does not recognise this tradition in its current iteration. I touched on this in my writings of The Reinmaren Woman. 

Furthermore, the Grand Kanun provides harsher punishments for assault on women, belying the idea that Reinmaren women are shieldmaidens capable of raising arms in their own defence. Such laws must be amended in order to bring the Principality of Reinmar in line with the roots of equality that the Reinmaren culture is founded upon.

ON THE KRIEGSMACHT

Book Three, Chapter II, Section II.IV of the Grand Kanun deals with military service within Theoderic’s Warband (now, the Host of Saint Johann).

This section previously read:

The Reinmaren Tribesmen of the realm, who shall be known as the Sons and Daughters of Minitz, shall be allowed to serve their motherland as her protector, and join Theoderic’s Warband as warriors. 

This was changed by the Warrior’s Edict of 1908 to:

The Reinmaren Tribesmen of the realm, who shall be known as the Sons and Daughters of Minitz, shall be required to serve in Theoderic’s Warband for a period of five years, known as a tour of service. Let women, children, and invalids be excused from this responsibility. If the officers can conclude their participation has been adequate, they may be relegated to auxiliary forces in times of peace. In times of war, the Herzog may declare that auxiliary forces be called upon to resume their service.

The proposed amendment to Book Three, Chapter II, Section II.IV is for it to read as follows:

The Reinmaren Tribesmen of the realm, who shall be known as the Sons and Daughters of Reinmar, shall be required to serve in the Host of Saint Johann for a period of five years, known as a tour of service. Let children below the age of fourteen and invalids be excused from this responsibility. If the officers of the Host can conclude their participation has been adequate, they may be relegated to auxiliary forces in times of peace. In times of war, the Fürsten may declare that auxiliary forces be called upon to resume their service.

The Landtag voted in favour of this amendment during the Moot of 1977.

ON ASSAULT OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Book One, Chapter I.V of the Grand Kanun reads:

The one that draws the blood of an unarmed woman or a child be it his own or not shall be judged by the Kanun as a sinner and a deviant, and shall undertake punishment through either a weregild, a flogging, the removal of a finger, or the branding of the right hand with a hot iron so that the world may know of their transgressions.

The proposed amendment is:

The one that draws the blood of an unarmed woman who is with child or a child below the age of fourteen, be it his own or not, shall be judged by the Kanun as a sinner and a deviant, and shall undertake punishment through either a weregild, a flogging, the removal of a finger, or the branding of the right hand with a hot iron so that the world may know of their transgressions.

The Landtag voted in favour of this amendment during the Moot of 1977.

EDUCATION EDICT

In the year of our Lord 1975

ÖHNE UND TÖCHTER VON REINMAR,

HEED THESE WORDS THAT FLOW FORTH FROM DER HEIDEPALAST, just as we have heeded your words. The way of the Reinmaren is the way of Moot, so we have heard the counsel of you sons and daughters of Reinmar and the burghers of the realm to draft this edict. Let it be known that this is the People’s Court.

Education of our young is of vital importance. To fail to pass on the traditions to the next generation is to doom a culture to a slow but certain death.

I. FROM WHERE LEARNING TAKES PLACE

We Reinmaren have no need of a schoolhouse. Why should our children sit in neat rows with their slate and chalk, presided over by a scowling headmistress, when our forefathers learned of the old ways amongst the forests and rivers?

I.I No dedicated schoolhouse shall be constructed within the Principality of Reinmar.

I.II Lessons on history shall be instructed at a relevant monument, building, or statue, depending on the historical subject.

I.III Lessons on runes shall be instructed at a runestone within the Ferdenwald, or within the circle of runestones.

I.IV Religious education shall be received in the Temple of Waldenic Martyrs or elsewhere in the Temple District as necessary.

I.V Practical learning such as hunting, fishing, woodwork, farming, and so forth, shall take place in an appropriate area to that skill.

I.VI Reading, writing, and arithmetic shall be instructed within the home, or the library of the Heidepalast or Temple District.

II. FROM WHICH DISCIPLINES WE SHALL LEARN

This word curriculum is foreign to us sons and daughters of Reinmar. Der Heidehof may be the Court of the People, but it is not our place to prescribe what must and must not be taught. This is the place of parents and Reinmaren elders. To create a curriculum is to deprive the realm of differing minds and varied opinions. We can, however, provide guidance on the subjects parents may choose to instruct their children in.

II.I.II Frankish history shall not be widely taught, but the Frank Mogurix and his descendants are granted permission to pass on Frankish history to those who come to reside in the homestead granted to him by the Princes in Reinmar.

THE PHYSICIANS OF ST. JOHANN

II.XI In the interests of the health and healing knowledge of the realm, the Physicians of St. Johann are bid to revive themselves under the leadership of Head Physician Father Gregor, or whichever physician he chooses to succeed him.

III. FROM WHOSE LIPS KNOWLEDGE FLOWS

III.I Children must be instructed by someone who has been blooded as a son or daughter of Reinmar. Let none instruct our children in the ways of the Outlander.

III.II Religious schooling must be conducted by a man or woman of the cloth.

III.III Parents have the foremost duty of educating their children, followed secondarily by Reinmaren elders. Let no man or woman shirk this duty.

III.IV This Edict hereby changes the position of Governess in the Heather Court to the position of Loremaster.

III.IV.I Beneath the office of the Loremaster shall serve the Runekeeper, tasked with upholding the ancient tradition of reading and carving Reinmaren runes.

III.IV.II Beneath the office of the Loremaster shall serve the Runesinger, tasked with upholding the ancient tradition of storytelling and skaldic performance.

III.V Formal educators are to don the garments of the loremaster, marked by a bronze brooch carved with the image of a runestone circle.

IV. WARDSHIP BENEATH THE HEATHER COURT

IV.I The Heather Court shall take on wards who have not yet reached their fourteenth nameday.

IV.I.I Some exceptions may be made, particularly for those who are not yet blooded but seek to be.

IV.II Children of the Princely Family may ward under each of the offices on rotation.

IV.II.I Non-Princely children may only ward under one office.

IV.III Each of the offices of the Heather Court shall have a limit of one ward.

IV.III.I This number excludes those wards of the Princely Family who are on rotation.

Since its construction, the City of Kretzen has enjoyed unwavering prosperity, even amidst wartime. Few problems have presented themselves, none nearly as problematic as the actions of the outlander Valites, from south upon the settled isle. We, the Reinmaren have done our best to stay entirely separated from the affairs of these folk, and have been met with internal subversion.

It is the tale of Stone that rings truest to us. He had come before Kretzen a weary traveler, and over the years settled in as a fair, blooded tribesman, named ‘Stein’. Within our wills, we had done our best to keep his mind clear of foreign, ill-fated heresies – though, unfortunately, was it not heresy to bring him down, but apostasy instead. He had rebuked the words of his brothers-in-arms, lying before the Chieftains, and GOD alike. It was the words of these perfidious folk to turn him from us, to turn him from our tribe.

It is with this, that – verified by the Grand Reinmaren Moot, we seek to expel merchants, craftsmen, visitors, and all manner of men that are under the flag of the valeman – from our holding of Kretzen. If a Valite / outlander from the lands of Nevaehlen seeks entry - a letter, signed by either Prince Leon, Prince Alfred, or His Holiness, Caius I will be required at the gates.

Anyone who fails to abide by the will of our sacred moot; will be subject entirely to the words of the Kanun, before the Lawspeaker in our Moothall. Let this bill, this declaration of the moot – be for the unified Reinmaren spirit, for those weakest among the tribe who fall to foreign subversion.

They will not walk our streets, they will not sell and barter goods within our walls – they will not pollute the minds of our weakest.

Hear ye, O kin and loyal subjects of ours, these words that flow forth from Kretzen;

Upon wise counsel with the Landtag and the esteemed Herrenhaus, we, the Princes in Reinmar, do hereby decree. We summon forth all blooded sons of Reinmar to take up their spears and pledge their service to the Host of Saint Johann. Henceforth, they shall embark upon a tour of duty, a tenure of martial obligation spanning FIVE years in the service of our realm.

This call to arms arises amidst the shadows that loom over our beloved home in the Evergreens. Raiders, Darkspawn, and heretics infest the Ferdenwald, threatening the security of our realm. Thus, we beseech the Host of Saint Johann and every loyal son of Reinmar to stand as bulwarks of our security, safeguarding our homeland from the encroaching darkness.

FOR DECADES HAS HOUSE STURMWEBER SERVED THE REINMAREN with leal and unending service, asking for nothing in return. It is our duty as Princes to not only recognize such loyalty but to reward it. 

And so, with great pride, we bestow unto House Sturmweber the Barony of Wesenburg, and unto our Erstkanzler Roland Sturmweber the title of Baron, to pass on to his children, and their children, and so on.

With this elevation comes the changing of an ancestral name. The House von Sturmweber will hereon be known only as House von Wesenburg, with their same blue-bannered tower remaining as their coat of arms, only furthering to exemplify their seasoned history as servants of Reinmar. Let the future - and this new name serve to maintain and promote dutiful service amongst the people.

THE HOUSE VON KANUNSBURG ARE OUR MOST DUTIFUL COUSINS, serving alongside the lines of Minitz and Sutica in the defense and safeguarding of the Reinmaren culture and people. 

It is our wish now to give the line of von Kanunsberg vassalage and land of their own to call home. And so, we bestow unto them the Barony of Fernweh, and onto Duke Gottfried Barclay von Kanunsberg the title of Baron of Fernweh to pass down to his successors and their successors after them.

Once the Barony of Fernweh was a simple hamlet, bestowed upon the late Eloisee Veiel, as a reward for dutiful service many decades ago, fallen into abeyance ever since her death and has since never seen day. Now, Fernweh may stand as one of three vassals, shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of Langenkirch and Wesenburg.

IT IS OUR WILL AS PRINCES IN REINMAR that only those born of our blood, from this day forward, may lay claim to the Crowns of Sutica and Minitz. And so, we hereby bar the cadet lines of House Barclay spawned from Gottfried, Duke of Kanunsberg and Alice, Baroness of Brandthof from the succession of the Dual Crowns of Reinmar. 

Their children shall take the names von Kanunsberg and von Brandthof respectively, as will their children after them. The only ones who share this name and Barclay alike, are the founders, Alice and Gottfried both. Their names shall in turn be Alice Barclay von Brandthof, and Gottfried Barclay von Kanunsberg.
