For years, now, the flames of war had ravaged the lands of Mankind. Thousands upon thousands of lives lost, and thousands more to come. At the edge of the Koengswald, the beleaguered Haeseni forced had been set upon by wave upon wave of invigorated Renatian soldiery. As the Haeseni turned and their forces crashed upon each other once more, it soon grew clear they could do naught but run.

The fog of war would not clear til morning. The body count in the Koengswald was significantly lower than at the Silversea, perhaps because Haense was running out of forces to sacrifice in delaying actions, perhaps because Renatus did not commit their full armies to the engagement. In any case, the command structures of both would remain intact, and the war-camps arranged in due order.

In the months to come, the fortunes further favored Renatus. Ser Rodrik and his Order of the Red Dragon captured a highborn company of Haeseni and dragged them back to Renatus. One Haeseni prince was sent to the Seven Skies by a Dragon Knight, in the name of the late Aurelius Tiberius Horen. Another Crow was executed by a Dragon that night, called by many to be his counterpart in ability - but how could a mere bird compare to a dragon’s majesty?

As the Field Marshals and General Staff of Renatus convened in their command tents, they smiled. For years they had toiled, and the end was now in sight. Below Reza’s walls, the Haeseni forces would be forced back, and they would face their end. Their claimant would be placed on the throne of Hanseti, and the traitorous Barbanovs deposed.

A Traitor’s End

The people of Curonia have assembled beneath the mighty banners of the green and white. In the royal palace of Avalain a special session of court has been called. Gathered one and all, peasant, merchant, soldier, noble, etc., all have come to hear His Majesty King Alfred II Edgar of House Devereux speak.

“Citizens of Curonia, of Arbor, Drakov, Artois, and Warwick. We find ourselves in a time war. Our banners have been raised and our armies called forth to help put an end to the Pertinaxi Rebellion.”

The king would gaze around the grand room at the amassed assembly.

“Together we have stood in trying times before, just as any nation of great significance like ours has. We have faced many a great foe since the times of my father and his father. Yet, despite the numerous attempts to undermine our sovereignty, to test our power, and to crush our spirits, we have never failed. We have met our enemies on the field of battle every time we have been tested! And every time we have come home victorious!”

The young King would wait for the loud applause of the room to die down before going on.

“Together we have faced these times. Together we have forged a path for Curonia and its people. Together we have paved the way for peace and prosperity to grace our Kingdom for decades!”

Alfred would then point to a series of large braziers set before the dais in a perfect line. Each one filled with the banners of the traitorous and disgraced Houses of Merentel and Keint.

“As most of you are well aware, the Houses of Keint and Merentel no longer wish to share in our glorious story. They have cast aside their oaths, attacked our leaders and troops on the fields with the Pertinaxi Rebellious scum, and turned traitor to their own brothers and sisters!”

The throne room would fill with the sound of cruses and hisses. The face of all those present adorned with a scowl at the cowardly traitors.

“I shall not let these transgressions go unpunished! Their lands are hereby forfeit! Their titles and riches revoked! All members of their families disgraced and charged with high treason!”

The room would fill with the sound of applause and cheer.

“We shall march to their lands, lands that belong to us! We shall cast down the traitors who forsake their oaths and all of standing here for the empty promises of power! We shall rise together like a sea of green and white, united in blood, bone, and soul to rectify the wrongs they have committed against our Kingdom!”

With that, the King would take a torch and move down from the dais to the floor. Standing by the center Brazier, with his council member lined up beside him, each carrying a torch of their own, he would look out to the crown one last time.

“Ave Curonia!”

With that, the King would place his torch in the large brazier. The banners of Merentel and Keint catching ablaze quickly as the flames erupted upward. Each councilor would then quickly follow suit until all pyres were set ablaze and the room was filled with the sound of applause and cheer.

On the old times of the Kingdom of Kal’Arab, there were two brothers. Balin and Hekkaes. Which both agreed that Hekkaes shall be the one who ruled. 6 years it took for the two dwarves to build the kingdom, which later on would become just a hideout for their clan. As the enemies of Kaz’Ulrah rising up, the citzens of Kal’Arab knew they had to get back to their homeland, Kaz’Ulrah. Before they could left, Hekkaes ‘Anvilaxe’ Goldhand, claimed two settlements for the kingdom. An abandoned village and a big farm near bandits tent.

As time passed by, the dwarf would constantly visit the settlements, checkin up on them, but it was that one time, that he forgot to check on the for two weeks. Once he remembered that he must check on them, he began his way towards Kal’Arab. Kal’Arab was fine as always, the farm was better than before, stranges built a wall around it but once he went to check on the last settlement, the unknown village, different walls were risen up, different from those he left, big gates were there, not allowing anyone to come in, but as the dwarf knew the place better than anyone he found a way in. Checkin up the village, looking around, a strange figure appeared. It was a woman creeping on Hekkaes. He notices her presence, in which the woman says “Are you going to keep creeping around?” where Hekkaes replied “Fok off bitc’” beginning to take off towards Kaz’Ulrah to inform his fellow dwarves of what happend. Once arrived, he saw Balin, his little brother, not such a great fighter, but a loyal clan member. He rushes up towards him saying “Prepare yerself kronul, we goen tu kazak.” in which Balin responded “Kazak? Anot’a one? Did we nae ‘ad enoug’ eron kazak kronul? W’u ye goen tu foig’t?” Hekkaes shook his head “Dis es fo’ Kal’Arab. Sum craze’ bitc’ came t’roug’ ‘nd occupied our foken s’ite.”. Balin would look in shock at Hekkaes “W’o did suc’ a t’ing?” Hekkaes would draw his warhammer “Oi nae know w’u da bitc’ was, but Oi nae care w’u lives t’ere, Oi will make rivers of t’eir blood flow across t’ose lands.”. A moment of silence passed, before Hekkaes would grunt and try to go announce more dwarves, Balin suddenly steps in front of him “’ave ye tried atleast tu talk tu sumone t’ere?” Hekkaes woul shake his head, trying once again to make his way towards other dwarves but Balin would grab his arm dragging him back “Ye will nae declare kazak, we will gu ‘nd talk tu t’em!”. Hekkaes releases a long sigh before he would nod, placing his warhammer at his back making his way back towards the village. As they arrived, the same woman would be standing in the village, careless totally not prepared for an ambush. Hekkaes and Balin would be sneaking behind the woman pointing his blade at her neck before shouting “OI BITC’, LEAVE DA FOKEN VILLAGE! DIS ES KAL’ARAB PROPERTE’! YE ‘RE NAE WELCOME!”. The woman was in shock, suprised by the dwarves, in which she replied “I just saw these ruins, rebuilt them, making this place look better.”. Hekkaes would walk up slowly towards the woman with his blade pointed at her neck the dwarf would command to the woman “On yer knees!”. Balin stood along Hekkaes, silent for the most of the time, in mean time the woman refusend to get on her knees which made Hekkaes angry, pushing his blade into the woman’s neck enough to cause her pain and discomfort. The woman would stay steady, not showing any type of problems in Hekkaes’s threats. The dwarf would get more and more angry in which he shouted again “Comen’ ‘ere was yer biggest mistake!”. The dwarf would then make a sudden move, going to push his blade into the woman’s neck, in which the woman replied with a defensive move, placing both his hands in the way of the sword, havving them stabbed. The dwarf would look in shock as the woman’s reaction would be quicker than he would expect, he would continue pushing his blade into the woman, finally arriving at her neck, before he could stab the woman in the neck, the woman stated “You know, I once thought that dwarves are honorable beings, not barbarians. I looked up to you Hekkaes as a paragon, seems like I was wrong! I want you to look in my eyes before you kill me! Look me in my eyes!”. The dwarf would chuckle, looking straight into the woman’s eyes, as he would push his blade into the woman’s neck, letting out a evil laugh “Justice’!”. Balin would look angry at Hekkaes “W’y did ye killed her?! We could’ve talked tu ‘er!”, Hekkaes would focus his gaze at Balin “Words ‘re en vain now.”. He would take the blade out of the woman’s neck, going to walk away “Announce all da gold’ands ‘nd orks, we ‘re goen tu make an ambush on da village. We will s’ow t’em nae fok wit’ us, Oi will slaugt’er ‘em up, take our lands back, taken’ back wot es ours!”. Balin would begin walking along with his brother, going to later send a bird to every Goldhand clan member and the Rex of the ex Iron’Uzg.

Three months were allowed to the Dwarves of Az'adar and Ord to make amends after their declaration of war, three months during which some of them visited Kaz'Ulrah, though most refused to and remained within their temple. Beneath the mountain remained a High Queen, adamant at retaining her words and acting on it.

Koralon sat on the Kaz'Ulrah throne, her graying hair dangling from beneath the simple steel circlet she wore, the dancing flames glinting within its sapphire gemstone. Some empty mugs of ale and platters of meat remained on the tables in front of her from the previous meeting of the clergy. Her mind was, however, set on another topic. Another target.

"Once my home." She spoke to her fellow Dwedmar after emerging from the throne room. "Now they declared themselves an enemy. But even before their sword was raised, the war was over for them. An unlikely ally arose in a moment of strife, an elven Peacemaker, a King true to his word on peace and thrive for prosperity. A king who was slain in front of my eyes, by those who hide in their so-called temple."

She straightened herself, her frail posture still many inches taller than the mountain dwarves on her side. "When the Zahrer the Conspirator arrived to the city on an offer to sustain peace and make amends for his slight against the Dwedmar, he instead demanded we cease aggression, fear glancing in his eyes, fears that the Dwedmar he fought for so long would rally in arms against him, fear that he'd be overthrown once more and his taint on this world would finally come to an end. The very man once so confident in the restoration of a fallen kingdom now quivers as clan father over a traitor family, killing peacemakers, killing fellow Dwedmar."

"Know, however, that many of them came to our Kingdom, with kind words, pleas, apologies or amends proper. Many came whom we spoke to, many whom we welcomed and many who will not be target of our crusade. As the Dwedmar listened, their Queen shifted in her stand and lifted her left hand to gesture towards her heart. "I offer you each, to follow me on this crusade. I offer you each to rid this world of the Undead-Lord, of the Conspirator, of the Traitor to the Dwedmar. If he builds yet one more flying city, we will fire hooks at it and crash it into the mountain. If he makes alliance with Khorvad, we shall invoke the Brathmordakin and purge him along with his lord."

"Arcadia shed its scales and re-dressed as a temple, a temple without statues of the Brathmordakin, with statues of Runelords and with altars of unknown powers. We will march on their cesspool of corruption, raze it to the ground in the memory of those they slighted and use their bricks to construct a statue of Dungrimm so that the Undead-Lord remembers not to slight the Guardian of the Dead. We shall not stop until the kingslayers are fallen."

As she said that, war horns of the eight clans within the kingdom sounded up, war horns calling for a march, a march south straight at the enemy.

It has been far too long since the Camel Bandit's saw red ichor coating their blades, they do not forget their promised war upon the barren South-lands - robbed of land by a ***** Countess. Yet, an opportunity came when the niece of the former Countess arrived upon the steps of their keep apologising for the wrong-doings of her aunt. She offered another chance for the Camel Bandit's to march to war, and hence, they shall march to war against the once aggressors down in the South. They will learn what it feels like to be bullied and picked on by greater powers.

 Forthwith the pleasantries, a multitude of chances given to the folk of Fenn to unite under a proper banner, alas has been turned away. As more and more time passes, and people flock to a better cause for a better north under the pretense that the former leadership of Fenn has led to the greater disrespect of the entire race of mali'fenn, the nigh-genocide of their own people, and xenophobic tendencies to the rest of the world has been a considerably dangerous note to the rest of society, one that only hints at a dying nation, a dying people.

 Alas, the Enclave rests on the precipice of war against it's own people, for their safety and for the future of a united south. However, it is also in addendum that those who have joined under the banner of the Enclave have voiced their greivances, multiple denouncements against the other nations and petty kingdoms of the land, the Az'adar and Kal'arab were seen as naught but fake kings, according to the Crown of the Fenn. This unfortunately was not something that could be let go by the proud and righteous folk of the midlands. 

 Thus now, the two colossal entities prepare for clash.

Duke Thomas I of Riviä would be gazing out of a window in the Riviän privy council chambers, surveying his land and watching his soldiers drill in the main courtyard. Everything seemed peaceful and quiet until the privy council doors slammed open with a messenger running inside with a declaration in his hands. “Your Grace, the B-barony of Blackreach have d-declared... themselves ind-dependent from our D-duchy!” the messenger pants, stuttering over his speech. The Duke turns around, his face showing intense anger and confusion “Summon the officers, to meet me here in a few minutes time!” he’d command, with great power.

As soon as all the commanding officers in the army arrived into the privy council chambers, the doors were slammed shut and locked from the inside not allowing anyone to give away their plans. Thomas I would clear his throat before starting “I took the House of an Cantwell in when nobody else wanted them, I granted them a Barony and what do they repay me with. They repay me with open rebellion! This will not stand, I hereby say we call up our banners and our allies and march to war.” Ser Kuyouch would simply listen to Thomas for a while "Your Grace. Going to war seems to be the only solution" he'd suddenly say "Though try to keep the casualties on both sides to a minimum. Our only targets are the leaders. With no leader, a group or nation falls apart. Then we could take advantage of the chaos after we killed the leaders, and march into the city or whatever that shithole is." he'd suddenly stand up from his seat and walks to a window, looking outside "Those who give, will be given. Those who take, shall be taken." he'd simply add afterwards, sitting back into his seat and sipping from a cup of rum. Theresa would be sitting in her chair with her arm on the table resting her head on it. “I agree with killing the leaders but cant we spare the barony, have new leaders for it, make it our barony again?” Theresa would say calmly, trying to take the most peaceful route as possible*. Leonard would reply to Theresa “Yeah I think we should spare who surrenders to us after the killing of the Leaders, having more vassals would be useful" he would heavily slam his arm on the table, and his eyes would light up “But everyone who tries to stop us should be killed immediately during the siege, those stupids soldiers must pay for what they do” Leonard would say with a smile. Thomas stands up with a grin on his face “So it is agreed then, we go to war” he then turns to his daughter, Theresa de Hartcold “Call up the banners, we march to war within the coming months”

Vladan Valic stood before the King of Renatus. He pled his case for why the village was a threat, their constant harassment of individuals with threatening graffiti throughout the city. One rogue halfling with a few tree people around him would not live to tell the tale after insulting the Kingdom of Renatus as such, and spreading such discomfort to the citizens. He pleaded for two things: The declaration that the leader of the village would be known as a public enemy of the Kingdom, and that they move to takeover the lands shortly. Both were granted.

With such, the Kingdom of Renatus went to war on the petty village, and it went with fire and steel.

The Sleetfells Fields were a grisly sight. Broken banners lay like spears in the snow, strewn amongst countless corpses and battered shields. Dead Haense-men laid in droves, slaughtered in a mechanical and ruthless fashion. Yet this battle was not without duel losses. In the pile of bannermen, an occasional Camel Bandit was seen; juggernauts felled by the sheer number of opposition.

Narrow victory though it was, the mercenaries had emerged victorious. The surviving Camel Bandits had taken to lick their wounds in a nearby keep, drinking in the glory of the recent battle. The harem would soon have her crown, and the bandits their glory and coin. All seemed well in the world. Until the ravens arrived.

“...sworn fealty,” sneered Cedric Estermont, tearing the parchment in a furious grip, “to the King of the Crows.” He paced in front of his seated companions; sat by him the motley band of warriors and sell-swords. “How many brothers died to see her cause through?” he muttered. Cedric eyed the assembly, seeing the familiar glint of rage and betrayal behind their battle worn faces.

He let the news slip into a nearby fire. “All so that she could be a lady of Haense.”

Cedric turned to the men, who had now risen to his words.

“No longer will we be pawns to sate the feuds of Southerners. No longer will we be robbed the jewel of the South.” Swords began to pound into their shields with a cry that filled the frigid southern air.

The Camel Bandits have been preparing for war, metal clinging and tent camps rising as the bundle of mercenary like men gather together to avenge the betrayal of one who was thought an ally. Funds from an unknown variety of sources filling their coffers, they’d continue arming their men with the best of steel, their mounted armour holding its prime gothic design. Each day growing to their notable victories, the camp had expanded deeply into the Haensetian woods which was still unnoticed by any foreigners to this day. With each tree to fall, every straggler or poacher to cross them and die as they spread further North to the enemy, it was all just a small step to the coming battles. War is one of the only few things these men know, and it’ll be the only thing they bring to those who stir it out of them.

Pure rage had still consumed their minds as they watched brothers die for no true cause, one of poor faith and high ego having sold herself to the very enemy to feel more powerful. This rage would prove good as it fed the fire in their souls needed to push onward against the creature known as Georgiana, a weasel in their eyes. With their vision set upon wiping the traitorous wench from the lands of Atlas. Her manor first, then the newly stolen Leeuwenhof. Not much else was to be said or thought, it was a mutual agreement to them all that someone like this had to be taught their lesson, that their land had to be stripped and burned. The Camel Bandits would march once more to the Southern territory and bring vengeance for their people who died to protect a traitor. Calling on even more brothers than before, a legion of the farfolk marauders would gather together, warhorns blowing as they set off into the South.

"We march on those who spit on the Haensefolk and their land" -Rhys var Ruthern Marshal of Haense 1672

The stomping of hooves could be heard as the trebuchets were pulled up towards the wayward 'Manor' and self styled County of one Georgiana Alexandra. In the front stood Sigmar I King of Hanseti-Ruska a retinue behind him that arrived past the Czena river with ease as Karl's Hill was able to be seen from the Krepost. It didn't take them long to make it up the hill, their men working steadfast to not waste time and remove this hindrance that had been set up illegaly. The Knights, Barons, Counts and Dukes stood at the helm of each their retinues. In the front the honorable and historically long lasting Black Company of the Rutherns, at their back Krakens Watch of the Vanirs a family which has stood by Haense side for countless generations, by their side West Guardmen lead by Enthelors the newly uplifted vassals of the realm they had much to prove come the battle. It was the Hearth Guard and Green Banner that gathered at the rear the first a retinue of the King and the latter a retinue of the good Stafyrs which had joined Haense in its infancy when Siegrad was in its stages of construction.

"We will not sit idle." Remarked Matthew Colborn atop his horse.

"We will not sit idle!" Harked the bannermen in return.

"We will not allow foreigners to claim our land and resources." Matthew spoke firm, overlooking the retinues.

"We will not allow foreigners to claim our land and resources!" The bannermen repeated once more.

So the war preparation started, for the sleetfells would see war once again. It was early that the long peace had been broken, but the Highlanders had always been a people with warm blood and ample passion. They would not sit idle when they were able to do something about it, war had long made them unable to protect their lands but no more shall it be so for today they stand united and ready to protect their lands under their banner. And so they prepared. The siege weapons were assembled, and the soldiers prepared. The council had been brief, and to summerize:

Northward bound, a small party trudged through the woods in near silence. Reiter mercenaries walked ahead, their heavy bootsteps crushing fallen foliage and turning the path into a mess of mud, while behind them, the clinking of Romstun armour could be heard. No one spoke a word, not even the prisoner with a rope around his neck like a dog. Two men, one in leather and one in plate, held twin ropes; one around the orc’s neck, and the other bound his hands.

By the time the Orcish Rex reached the gates of Caras Eldar, he was coated in mud up to his shins. A Reiter forced him to the cobbles with a sharp kick to the back of his knees, and he grunted as the unprotected joint met unrelenting stone. A figure emerged from the crowd, which seemed to melt away at his approach. He moved with a preternatural elegance that was offset by the full bronze armour with which he wore - lethal, and utterly expressionless. King Kairn Ithelanen took his time approaching the Rex, coming to a halt with the tips of his armoured boots touching the orc’s knees.

“You may offer your surrender to me for your belligerence and murder of innocent elves,” the King said softly. Deceptively so. There was a murderous glint in his eyes that betrayed his willingness to put down anyone and anything that would threaten his city and his nation.

“Zay gug’ye tu lahtz goi,” Puknaak’Lak spat with his chin raised defiantly. Say goodbye to your city. Sweat beaded on his blue skin, catching the dappled sunlight that streamed in through the heavy canopy. He was armourless, having been stripped of the Bloodsteel upon capture, and knelt only in filthy black and red clothing. “Your city will burn.”

“And your brothers will die.” Kairn held out a hand to his Praetor, who wordlessly advanced with a sheathed greatsword. “You had your chance to surrender and make your concessions.” He drew the blade, throwing the sheath carelessly aside in order to grasp it with two hands.

That murderous glint ignited until the King’s eyes practically glowed, and he brought the blade down without mercy. It cleaved through skin, sinew, and bone, sending the orc’s head flying clean off. In a pool of ruby red blood it sat, staring sightlessly up at the silver leaves above.

In the Naelurir Grove, the Mali’ame gathered around a stone altar. They sacrificed the dead Orcish Rex’s heart to the Aspects with their King’s blessing: “A gift for Cernunnos and Cerridwen.” Kairn descended from the altar once the deed was done, disappearing into one of the side caverns with a druid of the grove. When he emerged, it was with a striking red tattoo snaking around his right arm- the Warrior’s Mark. The mark of the Father.

The Chieftiancy of Ghanyah has stressed the importance of making peace with our Farfolk brethren aswell as enforcing an aura of dominance. Although they have infringed on the land we have promised to our vassals of Kharmandal, we offered to negotiate with the Rag headed Kardasi in which they chose to disrespect, dishonour, and overall disobey our wishes. The Harians, known for their submissiveness specifically to the Santegians, have proved their disdain towards us since our formal attempt to negotiate; participating in ambushes, raids, and overall disdain to our Farfolk Chieftaincy. For this, they will pay the ultimate price.

Following the mass casting out of foreign, magi illusionary soldiers, Renatus had casually waddled into the rolling hills of the Exodus steppes. The battle was swift, and Renatus only suffered two casualties. The poor souls were buried, but the legion still marched onwards, uncontested. Thus, the warfront upon the Reiver bandits had now entered its second stage, the siege.

Renatian sappers were swift to begin digging trenches and cubby-holes alike, providing soldiers with cover in the mud. The more experienced and skilled sappers took the time to chop down the native Huckery Sprucen trees, fashioning their wooden carcass as a means to assemble trebuchets. Overseeing such construction included the fair Lord Marshal and Viceroy, two men of military stature. In private, the Viceroy, clad in his bronze trimmed robes, spoke before Aurelius.

“Tis truly odd, your Majesty, that our foes call us aggressors. Yet, they desire to defend this fort-- a den for bandits and thieves. Tis the case with most. Hate resides in their spirits, and they seek the path of defending criminals in order to wage war against civilization. Needless to say, this den will soon be overran and peace restored to these roads. May Godfrey guide us.”

Over and over we have warned the builders of this heretical site to surrender willingly or we will enforce it upon them. We have explained to the builders that a shrine to spirits not devoted to shamanism angers the spirits of the desert, this building has served as a sort of invitation to infidelious spirits. This particular building has been set up too close to our settlement and has angered the spirits of the deserts, cursing us with morning summers and nightly winters that refuse our crops and starve our citizens. Three times in full  we have  formally requested that this structure be either removed or moved - the builders refused every time. It is time for us to show them what happens when you disobey the requests of our  glorious nation.

Targoth Pūknaak'Lak has had his patience stretched no more by the mercenaries of the Outerhaven, the warhorns of the War Nation of Krugmar would be blown amongst the forests where the Outerhaven keep lay. Their time would be no more, their assistance to the elves detrimental to the ideals of the REX and the birth-given glory of Krugmar. Vladan Valek woke in a sweat. Whoops and screams of the savages rattled through his memories, through his office, through his soul. Waking from his nap, still slightly inebriated, Vladan rose, stumbling outside, looking around as he let the fresh air sober him up. Spears and arrows still embedded the walls of the barracks, the door hacked to pieces by the Ghanyian tribe. How they managed to hike their way so far south, through the desert and the savannah, he didn’t know, but he did not question either, for they were at his doorstep none-the-less. Just as he was planning to kill an undead, the savages ran upon Belvitz, attempting to kill him and the denizens of a tavern. Luckily, he slayed them, along with his militia, and expelled the rest of his allies from the township.

After Norland, after Blackmarsh, he had expected the fights to diminish. That had not happened, and now he was in his stables once more, a bow on his back and armor on his torso, sword in his hand and horse underneath him. The Kingdom of Renatus stated its imperial ambitions, and an empire’s vassals are not to be trifled with, let alone by a band of savages. They came to Belvitz’ aid when the town bell rang, and they would come again to do what was right.

Once more, Adrians went to war, but for the first time in their history, they would march north, through the deserts, the savannahs, all the way to Ghanyah, and burn the huts and occult totems to the ground.

The Norlandic Pagan has at last been put to the sword. The walls of Ruriksgrad reduced to nothing mare than mere rubble. The defenders slain where they stood. Their capital lain to ruin just as our ancestors had done to Seahelm and the Krag. Every last vestige of their existence scattered to the winds. Alas, their barbarism and their heathenous ways remained unchanged. They had once been offered redemption but spat upon our generosity. They returned our kindness by slaying our envoys and butchering our nuns. They were wrong to think these slights against our Country and our Allies would go unanswered. The Norlandic Pagan truly deserved the fate that had befallen them.

Yet our ire turns to those who have aided them in the last battles. The other signatories of the vile conglomerate known as the United Southern Alliance. The Silver State of Haelun’or and the Kingdom of Haense stand defiant despite Norland’s swift capitulation. Let Haense’s transgressions against the Northern Atlas Alliance go not so easily forgotten. With our campaigning in the East, the crimes committed by the Kingdom of Haense have since gone accounted for. It is time for all good men, elves, orcs, and dwarves of the Northern Atlas Alliance to collect their dues. For the people of Haense will now pay the price through STEEL. The world watches on as our banners are summoned once more. We venture southwards into the deep cold, where we before wouldn’t dare march; with the sole purpose of ridding Atlas of the Haensetian filth once and for all.

Let this stand as a warning to all who dare oppose us. We WILL claim victory.

Twas a normal day in the gem of a capital that was Senntisten. The lake sparkled with the warm rays from the sun above, and cool breezes flowed through the city’s valley. The blessed tree shimmered, seedlings dropping into the lake akin to ran pittering ever so mildly upon a limestone road. Though the day was peaceful, and the chatter of civilians and merchants was ever steady, soon, throughout the town, a low rattling accompanied by the ringing of a hand-held bell could be heard. Attention drew to the man, this oddity clad in black and bronze. To the educated, it was the Viceroy Pius Horen, to deliver news to the common folk.

“Hear ye, hear ye!” he’d beckon, “There is dire news from the front, sons of Horen!” He then leapt upon the public dais, continuing to ding his bronze bell, his tone stern and projection ever increasing. “TREACHERY MOST FOUL! The Principality of Curon and their cowardly, scaled-skinned Princess Linette have decided to abandon their allies within the Northern Atlas Alliance in favor of selfish aspirations!” he exclaimed, addressing the whole of Senntisten. “She has violated the tenets of Horen! She has broken virtue of Fidelity! Brothers, and Sisters of Humanity, this will not stand! Treachery is a sin most fowl, and betrayal to one's benefactor holds an egregious punishment in the coldest depths of the Nether. I would know, for I have seen it! We must follow in the steps of Godfrey, and put an end to the plot of the Impure as he once did. TO WAR, kinsman, to honor our KING and ensure a swift and just blow to these treacherous curs! Let their treachery not go unanswered! Merge inimica mea dolore!”

And so, the word was sent. Couriers clad in Ash and Violet rode throughout the Crownlands and to all Vassals, dispatching the memo to all loyal and zealous subjects. It was a call-- a call for all adventure seeking commoners, nobles and even criminals alike to enlist and muster within Senntisten for a prepared second wave of combat to acquire justice upon backstabbers. The Legion reserves too were called, their spears having freshly been sharpened in wait for their turn to be shipped to the front. And so, the banners of the Dragon were raised, and all men marched beneath their glory. Destination: Curon. Objective: Annhilation.

The irony that Adria would be restored with the quelling of a rebellion was not lost on John Sarkozic. It had been over a century since the church in Brelus had been burnt by Savoyard Imperialists, the generals of fire and cold steel laying waste to the once fertile plains that overflowed around it. Its wooden walls lay broken in a forgotten land, far away from the town known as Belvitz. John looked upon a map from the royal court in Senntisten, down at the label and illustration of a hamlet near the Cloud Temple. This is mine. Promised and Bestowed, this land is mine.

There was but one hitch: the deluded keepers of Belvitz refused to return to his Majesty’s court. The deluded group of stragglers from a once prominent group dug into the dirt before the promise of prosperity for Adria, and laid their trenches in its way. The rebels, led by a southeron who was in reality of little importance, defied his Majesty. In another life, Brelus stood in a similar position. However, today those stragglers blocked his way. Belvitz’s way.

Today, John would bring with him the grandsons of Brelus, of Adria. They would march forth, and from Senntisten they would bring the fire, the cold steel. No church would burn to the ground, but the ashes of those walls would serve as the fertilizer for plentiful fields not yet sowed.
