Haelun’or retaking righteous Haelunorian land in the Silver Forest from filthy bandits.

“Bandits! Bandits! Rally the Silver Host! We shall hunt them down!”

The Silver State of Haelun’or and her Sillumiran and valiant Blessed Citizenry took up arms as the word of bandits attacking innocent travellers on their way to Lareh’thilln spread like wildfire. Sohaer Dimaethor Visaj rang the bell and led the Mali’thill party through the demanding terrain, path shadowed by the thick spruce towering around them. Passing heads on stakes and anomalous clawed roots, the armour-clad group arrived at the mucky village of Ruswick. The poorly barricaded town, undoubtably raised suspicion from passing merchants and loggers. It was here the bandits took their victims, and it would be here they would come to meet their end. Crows and rats made these forests their domain, but they shall be driven back. Their people shall know no end, and will be hunted out of every nest and pursued to every disguise they adopt.

There will be no sleep for the bandits, Mali’aheral! Fan the flames, her light shall shine upon the realm! Ay’Larihei!

The battle against marauding Hansetic forces on the banks of the Silversea had been quite unlikely the desperate defence of Helena; a merciless rout as opposed to an agonised and hard-won defence. There had been almost no losses amongst the armies which had amassed under the Renatian banner - no reason to turn back and pause.

Despite the poor quality of the forces which had opposed them - the army had been reduced to nothing but peasant conscripts in their rear ranks - there could be no rest. The Renatians would honour the most grievous loss of the war yet, the death of their honoured Siegemaster and the son of Aurelius Tiberius Horen, through redoubling their efforts. As sunlight broke through the trees which arched over the small, rutted paths along which siege weaponry trundled and painted the grass in a beautiful orange they mourned his name.

They were one step closer to Reza. Even if the enemy forced deigned to give battle again, rather than ceding the field and retreating to their walls, they would be defeated and forced backwards once more. There would be a new King of Hanseti, and an end to the Marian regime which had enabled the Nenzing Proclamation. Now, with the false and rotting edifice of ‘Oren’ ripped away, the loyal soldiers of Godfrey III would be able to strike down the true adder which had plotted against them all this time.

“The Bloody Palace”

Siege of Helena, c. 1716

On the morn of the 18th of the Tobias’ Bounty did the carrion vultures feast. Their beaks bloodied and their bellies full. The decimation and collapse of the pretender’s army quickly spread across the realms of Men, Elves, Orcs and Dwarves. At last, after a year the bloody siege of Helena was lifted and the traitors driven to their lands. In response to the victory, Emperor Godfrey III rallied his generals and ordered them to begin a minor raiding and pillaging campaign across the riverlands between Ves and Reza whilst his army regrouped with his Orcish and High Elven allies.

The morale of the Imperium Renatum and its allies were at an all time high, traitors defected en masse and swore their blades to Emperor in fear of his wrath. The Sohaer of Haelun’or had come out victorious against Snow Elven raiding brigades and the Orcish Rex saw Vessian bandits run down and eaten by his mighty orcish war beasts. In an amazing feat of Renatian military supremacy and might, news of the Battle of the Rivers and the Battle of Leuven reached the Empire’s war camp.

The time to invade was now.

The armies loaded their provisions, equipment and horses onto the ferrying boats and sailed across the sea before landing their armies east of Haelun’or. When the soldiers landed on the beachfront camp was set up on a hill overlooking the surrounding area. The Emperor, The Rex and the Sohaer were hunched over eyeing a table with various chips when a scout dressed in Norlandic garb stormed the tent. He rested his hands on his knees, eyes weary and panting. Godfrey looked upon the scout with an uneasy look, he could tell something was wrong and as news of his friends demise was told he brought his hands to his face and sighed.

From the walls of Helena, a single boat would be seen slowly guided by the wind before erupting into flames. The body of Alvar I, the redeemer and restorer of the Norlandic people was lit ablaze after he had been killed by cutthroats on an attack on Dunharrow.

The Norlandic army which had arrived late after dealing from the turmoil of the chiefs moot began aiding in the construction of a siege camp alongside the Imperial Renatian Legion. Soon to follow were the recently independent Curonians, marching in long columns to join the Imperial troops in their war. The false pretender who sat on the throne of the Unholy Orenian Empire had long since been fighting an internal conflict over his generals incompetency and infighting. The Imperium Renatum utilized its comradery as a strength, a single cause and a single leader, each man loyal only to the Emperor.

The fields of Leuven swelled with the united Imperial armies, joined by their stalwart allies, encamped as the war council, composed of the Orenian lords Arthur and Conrad, of the Falstaff bloodline, Henry de Guise, the Haeseni lordlings under Marius II, and the Vesnian militia officers commanded by a one Mr Watanabe, the young, valiant King Alfred II of Curon and his council and lastly the Princedom of Fenn lead by Crown Prince Aelthos Tundrak and his father, Aelthir Tundrak II. Before them, the blind pontiff entered the scene, carried in a litter manned by deacons. He was assisted up to a center altar, where he first announced prayer to the gather peers. Following after, he spoke from the Holy Canon;

“So it was that Joren saw the danger, and commanded Owyn Son of Godwin into the sewer. And the boy protested, but Joren was deaf to his nephew, and threw him into the sewers of the city, and Owyn Son of Godwin could not act whilst his guardian was beaten and shackled, his host of lords slain, and the virtuous Tara clubbed about the head. And deprived of their lord, the people of Edel were conquered by heathens and barbarians, and their land fell at last.

So the boy navigated the filth of the city in darkness, and soon the brick gave way to rough stone, and he came into a cavern. And the boy was overcome, and knelt in prayer, and wept for the fate of his kindred. And at once the darkness was cast out by a sword ablaze, and here GOD spake to Owyn.

‘Thou standest before Me in the waters of Gamesh, Owyn, son of Godwin, son of Horen. And thy people cry for justice and for purity. Takest hold of this blade, for it is a symbol of holiness, and by it thou shalt cleanse man of sin. Now, fleest forth from this unholy imitation of My city, and go into the village of Rafal, and fast there for three days, and I shall augment thee on the third. So Owyn took up the sword, and was consumed in its warm fire, and he did as he was bade and went into the village of Rafal. And there he fasted for three days, and on the third he was blessed with immense holiness, and he bore garb of fine make, and the signet of his father.”

“The Holy Scroll of the Prophet Owyn.” High Pontiff Everard V rolls up the hefty scroll, the young, red-faced altar boys helping him set it aside. Before him knelt men of all creeds, highlanders, heartlanders, and farfolk alike, united by a common enemy, the Pertenaxi rebels. Royalty and commoner alike, all were equal in the Eyes of GOD, and all were equal in their goals. “My children, today, it is not our nations that are threatened, but our very core values as sons of the Prophets. The Pertenaxi dynasty has sinned against GOD, against what it means to be a human! Nay, my children, this shan’t go unpunished. GOD has called upon each and every one of us to take up the sword against sin, like His Prophet Owyn of yore, who cast out Harren and the diabolical Saraites!”

The Pontiff would be raised down from the altar he was on, the youth assisting the blind man continue his sermon while walking, “We are all given a purpose in our lives; it is why we were created by GOD. Consider, therefore, that the Almighty has given you life, perhaps, for this purpose, that through you He may restore humanity from such debasement and heresy. They have killed and captured many, and have devastated the Empire. If you permit them to continue with this impurity, the faithful of GOD will be much more widely attacked by them.

“Now, we stand on the eve of battle, facing heretics who would see us to our graves, and destroy our Church. We must liberate these people of sin, not for our sake, but for the sake of those who have strayed from the truth. GOD wills it!”

REIMPOSITION OF UNITY

A Concerted Effort of Uniting Elvenkind

I address the state: our blessed Mali’thill of Larihei, the protectors of stability and order. It is today we cast our eyes upon the dissenter of Arcas. Our near kin of traitorous disposition, a kind to scarcely possess the acumen needed to preserve their honour, no mind the security of their state or society; Alderyn. Towards them we extended our sympathy, to which we sought solace within the unification of elvenkind. However they lacked the foresight of empiricism, becoming consumed with creed and a recklessness to which has now terminated a crucial accord.

For these deceitful creatures are unambiguously delusional, deeming themselves untouchable as traitors to the Elven blood, the Imperial Crown and the realm. Our commitment to harmony and permanence has been threatened by their treacherous motions, as we observed their unification with the Maliata’fenn. Such a perverse affair is one which leaders of old, alongside rightful claimants have observed with a logical scrutiny. And, although the Elven Union has proven to be an inconsequential formation, it lingers as a deliberately vindictive movement that has undermined the needs of Mali blood and jeopardised the cohesion of our relations.

Collectively, the continued conduct of Alderyn has been detrimental to all living beings. The Mali’ame, the Mali’ker and the Mali’aheral being cast beneath a shadow of your burning city.  For as the flames arise, diminishing the support to which upheld such great structure, it only seeks to represent a metaphor for your greater treachery. As you’ve held a torch to the dirt ridden brambles of your city, you have burnt the roots to which greatness could have arisen.

With this, The Silver State of Haelun’or concludes that the only appropriate act be fully declared war upon the ashes of Alderyn. Whilst you believe you’ve conducted an act of intellect, the truth remains within your astonishing lack of discernment. For it is not the ash we seek to maintain, but the bonds of the elven kind that remain prevalent through the haze of smoke. We shall librerate the mali’ame people, rescuing them from the frozen grasps of Fennic entropy, dispersed by the united roars of the Imperial Dragon and Silver Lion.

The primary events leading up to such were the activites conducted within the forest; including the construction of multiple bandit & mercenary camps. We wish to eradicate this by claiming the land in the name of the Duke of Adria; removing such scum from our doorstep. In addition to this, we wish to remove the vile Druid ents from our borders, looming over our safe town. In response to our request to vacate the lands, they threatened us back - claiming that the ents will squash the Duchy. Finally, we have given them several chances to vacate the lands – though despite this they continue to sit upon our borders, attempting to spread their forest deeper into our borders. The Halfling that is responsible for the forest also attempted to claim my own land, placing his trees all over it; which were hastily cut down. We now wish to cut the rest of the forest down, as we are sick of the activites conducted within.

The Year, 1690,
                
Titus Labienus stops marching forwards. Velia’s colony is finally within sight after a day of walking down the road. "Eh." Titus looks to those he’s been leading back to Aquium. Pointing Gaius, and Manius Claudius Curio to a large manor-house that besets their colony, "Pravus." The darkened building is eerie and covered in satanic ilk and imagery. The evil is palpable. Manius shudders. The proximity of this black building is a shadow on their shining colony.
 
The Year, 1691,

Claudii Familia finds an eviction notice in their vineyards. The culprit is the manor owner. Seems he went to the authorities. Citing a land dispute. Giving the newly made vineyard one year to cease production and move their vineyards elsewhere. However, grubbing up the vineyards would cause a huge blow towards wine production. The delicate creatures already requiring years in the ground to start producing quality grapes for pressing. This simply is a financial dent that the Pater Familia, Manius Curio could not take. He turns to the leadership of the colony to ask if he may conduct diplomacy with the manor owner over the land dispute. Given the blessing, he prepares translators to come with him to speak to the mysterious owner of the evil mansion that looms over his family’s vineyards.
                
Soon, an audience with the manor owner is upon Claudius. Together with Antonius, they approach the dreaded front door of the manor. Knocking and offering a roasted chicken politely. It is taken with much hesitation by the twisted visage before them. An elf with long craven claws, a frail and weak looking body. A high elf that’s made his company with snakes. One wrapped around his body now. A disgusting black vine. The home smells of death and dust. It is, however, quite sophisticated in its architecture. The owner even has a toilet like a civilised man. Claudius Curio the Elder thinks the ensuing diplomacy is going to go well. Yet this sarcastic and negative elf (typical elves!) that sits before them is very much dogged in not accepting to sell the house; The first order of peace that Claudii makes. A slave names the snake-clad man, “Alvried.” To which Claudius confirms with the manor owner whom he also finds out is a mage (that explains the frailty). Alvried sits there with his snake and wine. A displeased scowl fixed to his expression. A temperament of coldness despite the warmth the Velians bring with them. Claudius seeks a further peaceful compromise with Alvried and asks if they can forgo the eviction, and instead be allowed to build within 50 meters (blocks) of his home. He vehemently refuses and starts to get hostile when Antonius calls Kass to take-his-place translating. Alvried declaring he would rather see the whole colony evicted than give any room for peaceful compromise. This claim from the pyromancer upsets Claudius, who stands and delivers him his final terms of peaceful resolution. Silver, or steel, Peace, or war? Alvried moves off uninterested, opening a strange and evil looking book. Only responding, “Fire.” Choosing war. Claudius and his translator plea that he reconsiders, but he’s dogged in his choice. They instead ask to leave, and return home to Aequium.

                Sitting on the walls some days later near the end of the year 1691, Claudius the Elder informs Canus of the outcome of the diplomacy. How Alvried wants war. Canus responds by telling Claudius he should do what’s right. Alluding to Oersus, the King of Gods’ place in this matter. Mentioning that those like Alvried who yield to Crathakus are to drown in their desires. Laenas is to be contacted regarding the ensuing option to give the manor the cleansing fire Alvried chose.

The Year, 1692,
                
Between then and now, Canus and the legion are called out against Alvried. Slaughtering the manor owner and his slave. Taking their heads as prize. Leaving them on Claudii Familia’s doorstep as a gift. This being satisfying to Manius Curio. The only thing left to do is to destroy the manor for Oersus, and let Ban, the goddess of nature, to reclaim it for Gaesus, the god of wine. To cleanse the evil of Crathakus that inhabits it.

1. Diplomacy was conducted, and the outcome was a choice of war, more specifically, fire, after two attempts at a peaceful resolution to the land dispute.
2. The Velian Pantheon of Gods are offended by the manor, and thus the people of Velia think it’s an evil place that needs to be destroyed.
3. The Owner of the Manor has been killed IRP (PK or not is irrelevant), and thus the place needs to be destroyed as well as a cleansing ritual.
    

Alvried, the Manor Owner was approached with diplomacy and offered peace in two forms of compromise. The first attempt denied was in the form of offering to buy his manor. The second attempt denied was to be allowed to build within 50 meters (blocks) of his manor without being grassed up for eviction. With both options of peace denied, he was given the option for what happened next; peace, or war? He chose war.

Cassius Horen and Ser Daniel leading a rally of valiant Human soldiers into Orcish primitives.

The drums of war had ravaged the lands of Atlas. The golden dragon flew proudly over the now Imperial controlled city of Nordengrad, pikes donned to the Renatian flag pinning Orcish corpses about their self-razed city. The Empire’s coalition was going well, however the Imperial administration was not pleased. A decade old alliance between the House of Romstun and the Frostbeards of Kazulrah, renewed under the Empire of Man, had been broken. The traitorous Dwarves had broken the pact, foolishly providing assistance to the coalition. Couriers were sent to the allies of the Empire, calling for their aid against the cravens under the mountains. The sound of drums could be heard booming within the Imperial south as the Empire of Man prepared a campaign against the Dwarves of Kazulrah for their rebellious nature to harm a prospering era for Human civilization. For to the Imperium who carries no hatred to the Dwarf race – There’s a difference between Dwarves, and half-men. The people to which their wrath would follow was in their eyes, the latter. 

 

Empire of Man vs Kaz’Ulrah Warzone.

Hello everyone, as we approach the warclaim occurring tomorrow a warzone has been set up! The war zone will be located on the main server and there will be warp signs located at each major settlement that is involved in the war, the main two being EMPIRE OF MAN and KAZ’ULRAH. These warp pillars will warp you into the warzone. You will not be able to warp back and instead must soulstone or run out of the region.

You must be statused before using the warp sign or entering the region.

If you would like to switch sides then you must leave the region by running out or soulstoning out and returning with the new status.

You may leave at any time by soulstoning out or running out of the region.

All other server rules shall apply.

Final Note: The Community Guidelines are the optimal virtues for the best possible experience and should be followed and read. The toxicity that presented itself and the situations that occurred at the last warzone was unacceptable, we as staff hope we can work with you guys this time around to provide a fun warzone with little toxicity. Therefore, there will be no tolerance to toxicity and if a player finds themselves making toxic comments or harassing other individuals in the warzone they can expect to find themselves banned for the duration of the warzone.

THE MARCH ON ARBERRANG

 11th of the Sun’s Smile, 1690

The snow fell unabashed by the heavens, fields once green covered by the heavy foliage. Homes warmed by firewood and their chimneys let out smoke in defiance of the bitter cold. Markev stood stalwart and its people did not fear the ever-changing climate, amongst its bustling streets soldiery gathered, shields, swords and horses prepared for an assault. The pyres flames crackled and the light cast shadows amongst the passing figures, at the square podium stood Robert I Bihar of Hanseti-Ruska. To his left stood Lord Marshal Henrik Kovachev, resolute and poised. While the men below eyed them, foggy breaths came out through their mouths during the silence.

Taking a step forward with his wolf cloak following behind, Robert eyed his men as they awaited his word. “We’ve always been a people to uphold our promises,” The King spoke firmly as his voice echoed across the Red City. “To treat others with the respect they show us...” His words were followed by a short silence, eyes growing ever firmer and lips twisted in slight agitation. “But to those who pay us back with disrespect, to those whom would plan against us. To those of Arberrang, we will pay back a hundredfold for what they are due. They spit upon us, and did not heed our warnings, come not when summoned, hide demons amongst their midst and collude with our enemies. . .” Lips twisting further, it was clear Robert had, had enough. His words were now spoken most passionately “It is unforgivable, it was only their mistake to believe I would be indecisive. It is this mistake which will cost them most direly and it is this mistake which they will forever regret.”

Putting his hands behind his back, Robert turned his head to look leftward and then rightward after having concluded his speech. The first to walk forward was the Lord Marshal Henrik Kovachev, beside the King he began to speak whilst not holding back in the slightest. “They’ve cracked our trust, these oathbreakers. They renounced God in favour of their pagan ways, worshipping false gods. We shan’t wait till more Haensetian blood is spilled by their blade. Soon we march on Arberrang, countrymen. And we will prevail over these vermin.”

“Rejected,” Kairn Ithelanen finished the missive above a bed of embers. Cold wind poured into the common’s tent atop Gladewynn; only the fire and spare torches kept warmth. The faces of the Alderfolk lined around him in bated silence. Amongst them, the ominous Black Bastards.

Hello everyone, sorry for the small delay but as we approach the war claims occurring on the weekend a warzone has been set up! The war zone will be located on the main server and a warp sign from GLADEWYNN and KRUGMAR will warp you in to the war zone. You will not be able to warp back and instead must soulstone or run out of the region.

The Dark Exile: Pembrokeshire Under Siege

-The dead sleep no longer-

The old Necromancer felt the disturbance on the wind, he had begun to hear the master’s call and he cared not of what the usurpers did to the invaders. He knew the cold better then even they and had begun preparations for his dark exile to the lands beyond the wall. The robed man made his way down the darkened halls of his lair, he had built this place in secret after he had left Molech’s Folly abandoned after the collapse of the Coven that had once stood against his former teacher. He had worked tirelessly to orchestrate his master’s plan and he would not be stopped, the gods would be thrown off their high seats and the world would be reduced to a desert of bleached bones and wailing souls. All he needed was power, power that could only be obtained in the southern lands beyond the wall. He stopped and placed a hand on a long metallic door, the door opened in an instant and as he stepped through he was met with the screams of those he had captured over the last few months. Most of them were humans from the surrounding settlements, a few were wood elves from the neighboring Dominion. He preferred humans since they were weaker and succumbed to his methods quicker then others but he had learned everything he could from his experiments. He signaled to the skeletal guardsmen around the room and lashed at them with his will, in an instant they began to move around the torch-lit chamber and made their way to the cells containing the prisoners. They withdrew their blades and the screams turned to wailing as the slaughter began. Those who died did not stay dead for long, limbs twitched as dark miasma filled their lifeless bodies and in an instant they rose once again. The zombies filed in line in front of the Necromancer and he smiled at the looks of torment etched upon their slackjawed expressions.

These were not the undead that had previously existed, his research saw to that. Instead, these beings were fully conscious as if their very souls had been forced back from the veil between Ebrietas and shackled to their forms. His will presided over them like a red hot iron and he used it with pleasure whenever he felt the slightest hint of disobedience. They – and by extent, their very beings became his playthings. This was a violation of not just the boundaries of life and death but a secret that if discovered would make him a pariah even among his own kind. To this end, he had to flee. Should they discover what he had achieved, he would risk not only losing the art but the true death itself. His last few remaining years had been spent extending his life and ensuring that his knowledge had been recorded, the rest he spent building an army for his escape.

The necromancer made his way to the surface through a narrow staircase, the small army of the dead followed behind him closely. Upon reaching the surface, his gaze descended upon a group of grave robbers. It was not the dead which made them scream however but the living, dark shapes emerged from around them and the robbers from Pembrokeshire met their grisly end when their throats were slit by red robed assassins. The crimson order, now known as the death guard consisted of the Necromancer’s most trustworthy acolytes, people he had promised power to when times fell desperate and those he had tortured into submission. They kneeled before their master and he raised his fist in response, the eerie fog that surrounded the graves flooded into the corpses that they had created and the former grave robbers lurched to unholy half-life. 

Alifer Amice clutched his clawed hand into a fist once more and the dead beneath him began to stir, ancient grave light flooded their eye sockets and they clumsily slumped upright as they stirred the dust of ages. Skeletal fists pounded against ancient coffins. Dirt erupted in showers of grave dirt and ancient skeletons wreathed in fel armor erupted from their ancient crypts to serve a liege once more. Satisfied, the Necromancer ordered his acolytes and began the long trip south while the army of the dead began its ghastly assault upon the living.

Overnight, the Graveyard next to Pembrokeshire would be emptied of their former occupants. This would go unnoticed until the fires began to blaze from Pembrokeshire’s farms, panicked citizens rushed to closed gates and begged for entry only to be cut down where they stood by their neighbors. Horror and confusion consumed the guards, they knew of Molech’s folly and had prepared for the eventuality of an invasion but never had they faced against this. These were not the mindless ghouls they were used to fighting. Instead, these were their friends and family whom they had loved, now turned against them in death. They barricaded the gates, condemning those on the other side to a fate worse then death. It would not be until morning that they would realize the true extent of the horror the dead had wrought.

The dead were no longer anywhere to be seen, homes were burnt to rubble or abandoned entirely, once fertile farmland had been reduced to scorched earth. The guards swiftly removed the barricades and sent patrols to scout out the farmlands. The patrols would not return, not alive. When the patrols finally did return, they quickly found that their comrades had been slaughtered, one of them had their jaw torn off, another had lost an arm and many others had been bitten limb from limb or hacked to bloody pieces, they were held together only by sinew and dark magic. They turned on their brothers in an instant, it was only when they were dismembered and burned that they fell. Shortly after, the sound of roaring siege engines could be heard..

Pembrokeshire was under siege.

This request is a bit unique as it’s both an event and a “warclaim”. Now ofcourse, when I say warclaim I mean it’s an event where if Pembrokeshire accepts it they risk losing their settlement to the undead forces and Alifer’s cult. They’d be able to warclaim it back anytime ofcourse and with the full ability to retake the settlement if they succeed, so regardless of failure they’ll always have the chance of taking back what’s theirs. The event is tiered and will start off with what happens in the RP section of the post occurring a few hours before the warclaim becomes live. I decided to do this primarily because I find most of the things currently occurring on LoTC to be rather droll right now and want to give players some meaningful RP as well as some good PVE/PVP for once. That being said, this entire event will be a mix of PVE and RP with players also being able to side with the cult and play cultists whom will be operating in the backlines to keep the dead clawing at their walls. That being said, there will be a bit of PVP as well.

Rules are as follows:

1.  Cultists are not allowed to leave their siege camp, they’re required to keep the dead animated.

2.  Players who die during the event will join the undead hordes and rise again, this includes cultists as well as defenders.. None will be spared. This won’t be a PK and will only occur during the event, afterwhich the character returns to normal with no recollection of what happened. (CT rules)

3.  Catapults will fling necrotic projectiles at the city walls while the cults experiments lash out at the walls with a variety of meat wagons and abominations. When a breach forms, the undead will flood into the breach with the goal of turning everyone inside the city.

4.  The defenders win once the undead have been pushed out of the city and pushed away from the ruined farmlands. Once this occurs, the defenders have to turn on offence and slay the cultists while also destroying the structures they are using to keep the dead animated. Among them will be three champions whom will be given buffs to easily slay the defenders, the champions each control one tenth of their forces and must be defended at all costs from the defenders lest a quarter of their forces be destroyed. 

5.  The attackers win if all of the defenders have been slain or turned. This will turn the city into an undead bastion which they will use to launch assaults on the surrounding territories, during this time the land around the city will die and become inhospitable to life. The city will require a siege by the forces of humanity to be retaken.

THE ETERNAL WAR, 1687

The road was littered with corpses, the water diluted with red ichor - this was the aftermath of a Empire victory against the reemerging Reivers that had struck out against a Haense ball. The few survivors hid in their towers and forts like rats that needed to be routed out, so that is what must be done.

A war council was convened shortly after and it was decided that once more the Reivers will be rooted out, butchered and once more made extinct which was a common occurrence for the lackluster fighters that struggle to win any fight.

A second tower, that was ruined, was seen to house the pitiful Reiver bandits - so without hesitation the banners of the Empire were called once more, a plethora of flags flying high in the sky as they would march upon the second fortification just after the first. Each and every soldier confident that the Reivers, as always, would find themselves being dealt another loss.

Ample time was given, yet nothing. No response, no plea, no acknowledgment was given towards the Radovic forces trenched outside of Sun’s Smile Hold. They had their chance to safe face and leave these lands, but arrogant men they are. “Give them volley!” shouted Ser Bogdan Barrow atop his white steed. A line of Radovic men aimed their various woodworks at the keep, and let loose a hail of arrow fire. After mere moments of flight, the arrows lodged themselves in the stonework, and wooden supports. Very shouts could be heard from the castle, as lights were given life, the defenders were mustering.

The small Radovic force that had entrenched themselves outside, were soon joined by the bulwark of the Styrian host. Various icons and heraldry flapped and fluttered in the brisk cold wind. Soon Ser Bogdan was not alone. To the side of him was the lord marshal of Styria, Ilya Ivanovich atop a black steed. The man’s stern stoic gaze fell on the keep, eyeing the scrambling defenders. “Give them steel, no mercy,” he stated, unsheathing his longsword, and pointing it towards the keep. Soon the area around Sun’s Smile Hold erupted in sounds of siege. It had begun.

The only response this pitiful man gave was the stubbornness, or arrogance, to stay sat in his tiny encampment – unmoved...

The banners of Ivanovich and d’Amaury held high in the sky, gathered outside of the newly erected Castle of Summerhall. The wind blowing strong, the rain cascading down and the men prepared to march through the harsh conditions that were bestowed upon them. It was a clear goal, an easy goal - to reclaim land back for the Empire; it shall be done. Konvyes Ivanovich and Francis d’Amaury had their levies raised and with their combined efforts should conquer the land in due haste.

    Shortly after the battle of Blackreach, the Duchy and Barony entered a stalemate. During this time, Lord Jameson soon rose higher in power. He took under him the town of Barmount and become a County, giving Barmount the title of Barony. As all this occurred refugees of Rivia joined him, and spoke against the horrors of Thomas de Hartcold. Two leaders walked together within the walls of New Krugmar. Both after a heavy day of politics, though drastically different to each: one after a council meeting of noise, shouts and rejoicing, while the other after hours of fighting in a pit to prove worth to himself, his nation and kin, and the spirits watching from above.

The two understood each other. They flicked over various topics the past years of their reigns, for both leaders assumed their seats almost the same time. This time around, they walked to the wooden palisade and glared down at Garrond's Vale.

There was no need for much discussion. The Dwarven Queen arrived with a proposal and idea that had been spoken about before between Uruk and Dwed. The two agreed within minutes that they would rally their nations each ... though give them not the weapons they would wield against those seeking to extinguish their lives, but weapons dulled for practice. They would engage in a battle where those falling to the ground wouldn't be stomped, but given a hand to help them rise. A battle without hatred, a confrontation born not out of spite but out of the need of two militaristic nations to uphold both their traditions and the quality of their militaries.

The next year, these almost-blood-brothers would clash in Garrond's Vale for a battle to be remembered as the so-far greatest spar between Uruk and Dwed, and as the only battle where the fallen and triumphant would clash mugs after it is over.
