FROM THE OPEN SEAS
They came from the seas, with their mighty fleet, a shanty upon their lips.
Many a day and many a night had we been out at sea,
Searching for land, searching for shore! Sailing true and free,
Nothing but the sea and sky! What a place to be!
Only water and endless blue as far as the eye can see.
And then! A cry, from high above! “Land! O land, ahoy!”
Gather the men! Gather the crew! The anchor to deploy!
