FROM THE OPEN SEAS

They came from the seas, with their mighty fleet, a shanty upon their lips.

Many a day and many a night had we been out at sea,

Searching for land, searching for shore! Sailing true and free,

Nothing but the sea and sky! What a place to be!

Only water and endless blue as far as the eye can see.

And then! A cry, from high above! “Land! O land, ahoy!”

Gather the men! Gather the crew! The anchor to deploy!

Mountains tall, rivers wide, riches to enjoy,

A new adventure now awaits, o, what joy, what joy!

Then out the haze came many masts, their banners torn and frayed,

The ships of many a nation seemed to flee themselves away!

Those ships, they cried of a Daemon and they cried of a victory,

Yet still we held our course ahead, sailing on our way.

We followed in the wake of all those broken, battered hulls,

Their lanterns cast a flickering light, through night and breaking dawn,

They sailed and sailed for many a night, leading the fleet along,

Until that cry came once again: “Land ahoy!” from above!

We landed in a strange yet vast land not before seen,

All the places that we’d been before were unlike these!

Mountains high and valleys deep, a sight to make us dream,

And so we came and landed here, from the open seas!

The sea winds howled as the Praeterian Fleet cut through the waters, pitch-black sails catching the wind like the wings of great birds. The flagship drove its keel into the harbors of Kalldur. The plank slammed down with a dull thud, and heavy boots stepped against the wood.

Captain Siladescended from the ship, his coat whipping around him in the wind, tusks gleaming in the sunlight. His booming laugh echoed across the land.

His perpetual grin widened, rather unsettling in its warmth and ferocity.

"Alrigh', boys," he boomed out, reveling in the discovery of new land. "Are ye ready?" The family behind him erupted into cheers. Silas stood, unmoving, confident, amidst the cacophony of voices.

"Captain, with the land as far as the eye can see, I'm sure we’ll find more family for our crew! There's terrain I’ve never seen before perhaps I can find some new things to grow on board," Ulmus said gleefully, hanging over the balcony of the ship, trying to inspect the land more closely.

“Mreow”

a Kitten sounded off from the bottom deck of the ship. Upon so, a crate opened and a dwarven girl crawled out of it “s- shshshshs” - “are yeh tryin’ teh get us in trouble?”

a stow away was somewhere in the ship as Britney scurried into a barrel once more bringing her food with her.

The orc's stomach growled, having to survive on hardtack caused meat to be the only thing on the uruk's mind as her eyes gazed along the sea and towards the shore of the island they were hastily making their way towards.

Quickly she moved along the deck, tying and untying knots as she helped her crewmates ready for landing.

Khulgra stumbled along the deck behind her captain, taking time to get used to the fact they were no longer swaying after just spending months adjusting to the constant motion. She took slow and steady steps along the plank that led from the ship down to the sandy beach. As her feet sunk into the soft soft, she looked around her, both at her surroundings and at her crewmates, and grinned.

They had set sail and landed, and she was ready to explore.
