A public letter has been posted around the city of Thyra, though its format resembles that of a personal one. It reads :

To my daughter, the Heiress of the Southeron and Seyam, Carawelo.

                                As I grow older, and the chance of me wedding a woman of my liking and attaining a son decreases, I find myself thinking more of you – my precious daughter. The thought of you brings me to remember a story my father once told me, of the only woman to ever publicly embarrass him and for a moment, to strike fear into his bold heart. During the Elven-Orkish wars in which we fought alongside our orcish brethren on the previous continent, the dwed were a common face to see – a friendly one. There was one instance he recalled, after a battle at a fort named ‘Strong’, in which he met the leader of these men – a woman. He described her as a woman of ashen skin like coal, but eyes of a flame that kept contained unless she had willed it. She spoke of her magical prowess – and naturally, as a practitioner as well, my father felt inclined to challenge her. Of course, this challenge was protested by the Orks – and after a barrage of insults, they had agreed to a simple arm-wrestle. My father was a man whom had protected Kings, both human and non-human – he was a man whom had battled creatures never before seen on this land. Yet, not only did he lose, but he had momentarily fractured his arm, his spirit, his pride, and his ego. It was through this lesson, a gift of wisdom and humility from the Dwarven High Queen, that he was shown the might a woman may attain, to become an elected queen and rival the strength of generals. Now, I do admit that the legitimacy of this story remains questioned, however fact or fiction – it does fill your old father with excitement for your reign. If you are to reign, that means that I have passed on to Semayata. This means that your reign should be powerful enough to shake the heavens, I will that you shall rule as the Queen of Kings – and if this be a dream, then make sure that you pass this dream onto your children as I have done to you. When in doubt, remember the story of the ‘Dwarven High Queen’ and the dream of your father.

However, although your name is renowned,  you have not wed – which is the first step to building yourself a legacy. The common dream of all men is to be known by people long after you’ve died. The only way to fulfill that dream as mortals is through stories, however these stories cannot be told in their sincerity by someone who is not your blood. Upon your demise, your titles would be disposed and all your efforts would have been in vain, you would have no children to continue your legacy whatsoever. To alleviate this worry, I have contemplated on ways to establish a closely knit union between our two dynasties without making you a one-sided offer, and so  – I have decided to offer you this. As marriage is the purest form of union, granting us lawful procreation in the light of Alaha – I shall offer you the hand in marriage of a blood relative – Zuwena Maridhia Kiros ag Sulynè, who in relation to me is my first cousin once removed. Of course, if you are to accept this – you’d have to give a dowry to show her father Kiros that you are a pious man. I am the patriarch of our royal house, however I do not believe in giving away the purity of another man’s daughter without their knowledge, even if we are blood. After all, I must set an example for those who succeed me aswell as my fellow courtiers. If you are to accept, send word back to me and I will summon my cousin Kiros for your request. I will, of course, speak to my once removed cousin shortly after sending this letter to you – she has been eager to wed so I don’t doubt she would be ecstatic towards my recommendation.  Erasto Kalfou Ag Sulynè is the undisputed Suldaan of Seyam, however, his rule has not been vindicated by will of the Jyoist Church of Thyra - and as such, by Seyami law his reign is simply illegitimate; as he has failed to take a vow to his people and his demiurge.  This has led to this official announcement of coronation, to officiate his rule with the blessing of Alaha. Introduction

The people of Seyam have certain customs that should be respected and followed while in the city, some have been known to be harassed on the streets after they have not bowed correctly. Here, you will learn some of the customs in our kingdom.

Court and Religious Customs

Royal customs are very important, when meeting with the Suldaan, Sayin-Alufa, or another person of high importance.

1. Before speaking with the Suldaan or the Sayin-Alufa, you should greet him with Murhara, and Lra, depending if he is the Suldaan or Sayin-Alufa. Then, you must bow a graceful bow, at least so that you see ½ of your feet. If it a curtsy, then you must dip your head at least so you can see your torso, legs, and feet.

   1. This is exempt from people of Royal descent, unless they are a cousin or not closely related to the Suldaan’s family.

2. When greeting a Noble, state them by their title, then followed by their first name and last name, then followed where they are from.

   1. For example, one would say “Greetings, Grand Lady Zuwena Maridhia ag Sulyné of Seyam.”

   2. No one, but the Suldaan and his direct lineage is exempt from this. Although, it is considered rude for a Suldaan to not address their peerage by their full title.

3. When greeting a Sayin-Alufa, it is considered uncouth to greet them by their birth name, rather, you should greet them by their title, followed by chosen name.

   1. For example, no one would say “Greetings, Sayin-Alufa Jumaane, good day.” But, one would rather say, “Greetings, Sayin-Alufa Abdu, good day.”

4. When greeting the Suldaanad (Queen-Consort) of Seyam, you would bow or curtsy before them, same as if you are greeting a Sayin-Alufa and a Suldaan, before speaking to them, then stating them by their title, (Suldaanad of Seyam), then by their name, place of birth, and finally, relation to the king. (In this situation, you would say “Wife to the Suldaan”.

   1. For example, one would say “Greetings, Suldaanad of Seyam, Julisha of Mjabku, wife to the Suldaan.”

   2. When greeting the Ina Amir(ad), Amir(ad), Ras(ad), or a Rasadi, you would do the same, except changing the name, place of birth, and wife/husband of (if any.)

Common Customs

Common Customs are not as significant or important as Court and Religious Customs, in fact there is little to none.

1. When greeting a mother or father of any family, you should kneel before them before speaking.

2. When greeting a family member, you should hug them, unless they are one of the following.

   1. In exile.

   2. A criminal.

   3. A disgraced member of the family.

The House of Sulyné ;(Seyami: Ag Sulyné) are descendants of the Meallean Zailu tribe and are the current and first suzerain house of the Medri Negasi of Seyam. They are primarily Southeron, the current head being the Suldaan Erasto Kalfou Ag Sulyné. They are usually symbolized by a serpentine insignia, usually with a crown atop it. Their current Coat of Arms is spearheaded by a Cobra travelling through the sun, atop it being the historical crown of the Chieftaincy of Ghanyah. Their religion is Jyoism.

Family Tree

It is on this date in the warmth of the Korvassa that we announce the acquisition of all current lands within the Rajdom of Thyra. These lands have been acquired in their entirety and are now under the jurisdiction of a Southeron man under the name of ‘Erasto’.  The House of Enrique is and remains a wealthy house of course - however, it neglected the Thyran state’s economic poverty that for years went uncontrolled, causing it’s denizens to curse them. This unrest eventually grew into active protest, going unheard by both the world and the Raja - only causing them to delve deeper into poverty, with all of it’s merchants and workers migrating elsewhere. Before these peaceful protests evolved into something greater - they fell under a new leader, who was far from an Enrique. With the riches he had apparently hoarded since the days of yore, he was able to bail out the House of Enrique and gain control of the Thyran state within the span of one year. Although this deal took a year to cement, the man Erasto became popular overnight. The tension between the two entities seem little to none, with Junar Enrique blessing the new leader before he departed. The intricacy of this deal is unknown to all, though it definitely signals a new era for Thyra.
