Introduction

The Talyniist Scholarium, is the scholarly heart of Celia'nor. Practitioners of magic, artificing, alchemical and other such pursuits come together to advance themselves and others for the betterment of Celia'nor. As the name of the organization suggests, the group holds ties to the Talyiinism faith, dedicated towards the expansionism of knowledge in the minds of all, to overcome the darker paths that have taken root in lesser mortals.

The Scholarium is in a sense, a charter, comprised of numerous guilds who are responsible for teaching their respective members. It's leaders and sub leaders forming a council by which decisions beneath the purview of the First Abbess of Talyiinism are made.

Each guild shall be here on referred to as a College, and the several colleges that are present within the Scholarium make up the Academy as a whole. Ergo, Scholarium or Academy shall be used interchangeably from here on. Members of the Holy Blade & the Diraar may see lessons specifically targeted towards training them in their duties. Often these are optional, but some are mandatory. All of which should be highly beneficial to them.

★ How it Works! ★   

Colleges

A student, researcher or scholar of the Academy can attend public lessons of any of the colleges within the Scholarium. For example, a member of the Silveira College predominantly learning magic can attend a public seminar on the fundamentals of Alchemy held by the Ak’vei College. However, in order to attend private lessons or receive private tutelage, one may need to apply for membership to the specific college hosting those lessons. Typically carried out by contacting the respective deans. More colleges are continuously being scouted, thus if one has a group or guild that wishes to lean into the collective teaching and research experience - they can receive land grants for a small fort/estate/building with which to teach from around Mount Kaelin free of charge.

Curriculum

Studying at Mt Kaelin isn’t about learning to be a mage or a shaman or even an alchemist. It is about learning to be a historian, an artist, an orator, an inventor or any other profession whilst using ones studies to help, enhance and provide a solid backing to one’s future endeavours. The academies' understanding of magic, alchemy, combat and strategy are indeed expansive, and one can continue to study there even whilst being a fully-fledged spellcaster or academic in their own right. Given the Campuses location being within Celia’nor territory, a great importance is put on high elven culture, and as such the majority of its students are high elven. A student should choose a Major and a Minor from the list below. (OOC: This is primarily for the roleplay aspect of things; even if one has a Major in Medicine, they can still attend lectures and events based on a Major in Alchemy.)

Faculty

The faculty members of the academy are mages, scholars and experts in their various fields. But that does not mean they are not also capable of learning or attending lessons. Infact, it is encourages by all deans, for individuals to attend lessons and continue learning from their peers. These faculty members are dedicated to their research and educating generations of students who follow in their footsteps - and helping those students forge paths of their own. Some faculty members value research far more than teaching, whilst others make education their highest priority - but balance can be found between the two, and research grants for success rates with their students are a powerful motivator.

Instructors: Members of the Faculty who have begun their careers recently or over the last few years. Focused primarily on teaching classes and crafting the curriculum whilst the academy evaluates their performance. At the end of a provisional period, an instructor can be elevated to the rank of professor, assigned the role of researcher, or elevate to that of a Professor.

Researcher: Members of the Faculty who assist other instructors or professors. Assisting other members of faculty whilst predominantly focusing on their own research.

Professors: Those who have distinguished themselves over the course of a long career. Typically at the very least twenty or thirty years, hoping to be recognized with the title of esteemed professor. The honour of this is often bestowed in recognition of groundbreaking research, expert teaching abilities, or something else of significance.

Counsellors

Shortly after enrolling at the academy, a student should be assigned an instructor, researcher or professor who shall serve as a counsellor to help the student plan their course of studies. The deans of the respective college that handles the student's application form will typically be the ones to assign said counsellor.

Students should pick at least one extracurricular, and a maximum of two!

(OOC: Player Events run by the Scholarium or one of its teachers will take into consideration your extracurriculars, major and minor, granting you small bonuses to any roles or emotes. They won’t work outside of these events.)

Jobs

Students are encouraged to take up part-time jobs if they are not already doing so as a member of the Diraar or Holy Blades. These jobs pay primarily in student credits that are attributed towards their grades, but may also provide minas on a case-by-case basis.

Library Staff: Book organizing, shelf organizing, cleaning and book finding.

Ak’vei Bar Staff: Assistant managing, cleanup crew, cook, host, server.

Campus Grounds Staff: Cleaner, gardener, litter picker upper and maintenance.

Dormitory Staff: Cleanup crew member, events assistant, resident assistant.

Laboratory Staff: Cleanup crew, assistant to researchers.

Exams

Exams will typically take place and are a great way of obtaining student credits (Tilru). By passing an exam, one may earn a sizeable quantity of Tilru, or even proceed to a higher grade if they have sufficiently met the requirements. On failing an exam, Tilru may be deducted - but this is left to the discretion of the respective professor. Only professors & deans can conduct exams. (OOC: On passing an exam a permanent +1 Modifier is gained that can be used once per week on Player Events run by the Scholarium).

Rankings

Unranked (F) - A member of the Scholarium that has yet to progress in their studies. When used as a unit of measurement for combat potential, they are typically considered of a low threat level.

Aspirant (E) - A member of the Scholarium that has contributed reasonably to the academy or performed well in their studies. They are still considered relatively non-threatening in terms of combat potential.

Initiate (D) - A member of the Scholarium that has proven themselves dedicated and capable. When used as a measurement of combat potential, it is considered equivalent to mastering a single arcane art.

Acolyte © - A member of the Scholarium that has proven themselves dedicated, competent and capable. When used as a measurement of combat potential, it is considered equivalent to mastering two arcane arts and said individual can be considered a moderate threat to others.

Dedicant (B) - Individuals who have reached this rank are powerful or smart enough that they can be relied upon in times of true tragedy. This is the equivalent to mastering three arcane arts, and are decent threats to most.

Adept (A) - Individuals who are trusted and competent in their specialization, enough that they could be nominated as a member of faculty. Equivalent to those who have mastered four arcane arts and are very high threats outside of the magical variety.

★ Events & Campaign(s) ★

Events occur as part of ongoing player event campaigns. These can range from anywhere between a regular lesson teaching about different ways of countering magic spells, to a practical expedition down into the caverns below the Academy to capture a dangerous monster and bring it back for observation or experimentation.

Campaigns are the arcs or stories that take place, consisting of numerous events, npcs and interactive elements. These tie together events, often with clues or hints in some- or overarching antagonistic forces or npcs attempting to accomplish their own goals.

Rewards

Due to the nature of player events, rewards are somewhat limited by what the Scholarium can provide. A narrative and chance to develop one's character is of course at the foremost of this. In addition, loot in the form of Minas can be acquired, Tilru can be granted for accomplishing tasks, and permanent bonuses to rolls/emotes can be acquired for events within all future Scholarium Campaigns.

Those who wish to sell their craft through the guild should be aware of the various roles they take and may apprentice for. From Artisans to Magi, the guild is home to all crafts. 

Artisans

A broad term to cover all bases - the guild’s main purpose is to aid all who sell the fruit of their labor. Whether that be a writer's poetry, a musician's melody, an artisan's canvas, or an architect's structure, all may come for a chance of respite with the guild. Each member - depending upon their craft(s); will be gifted a pin to wear at events to show their crafts and whether they seem apprentices.

Magi

As the Magi aided in the guild's formation, The 'aheral Aiyeis Acal'Turrii formed a sub-division led by Lawrintithius.

If any prospective artisan is seeking to join the guild, they may send word to Aiyeis Acal’Turrii by bird, or by visiting the guild hall in Celia’nor. It will be by the apple orchards.

INTRODUCTION:

Val’taelu arrived on the shores of Aevos seeking security– first and foremost. Having since achieved this, especially within the nurturing and secure bounds of Celia’nor, Val’taelu now endeavours to deepen its roots by embracing the clan’s cultural emphasis on commerce and trade. Among the clan’s members lies a prevalent skill in seamstressing, a talent with Val’taelu intends to leverage through the establishment of its new enterprise:

The company will intially focus on commission work, where clients may engage with any of Kerok Layeh llye’s seamstresses to potentially fulfil a request. Pricing will be determined individually by each seamstress, as each’s skill fluctuates per method and means of curating pieces. The following is Kerok Layeh llye’s current open seamstress– complete with pieces from their expansive portfolio and corresponding prices. We look forward to updating our staff as Val’taelu kin continue to progress in their own skill levels and comfort. 

Mirasul Val’Taelu 

Commissioning a simple outfit may range between 50 to 100 mina, while a more complex piece may range higher– especially if the commissioner wishes to tap into Mirasul’s metal forging talent. A consultation on pricing is more than welcome, and birds are encouraged to be sent for such deliberation.

Welcome to the opening of the Artisan’s Guild in Celia’nor.

Within the next few elven weeks, a guild hall will be constructed with a reading nook for our permanent residents and quarters for the apprentices. 

There will be a notice board in the main hall to promote their works and garner commissions. Also found in that hall would be a small tavern space used by the Celia’nor Winery and Tavern. And a few market stalls.

Upon its construction - the guild will be used as a gathering square for artists to converse with like-minded virtuosos and create or strengthen bonds within a fresh community.

 The Artisan’s Guild aims to be a beneficial center for those in creative fields. Artists who join and are active participants will be given emblems to show they have the guild's support. 

There will be five separate parts of the guild: artisans, tailors, architects, writers, and musicians. Though they are split, the guild will function cohesively. More information will be provided in later missives.

Caramel Cream Filled Candies (1 mina)
Inside a small pouch would be a handful of hard candies with a caramel cream center!

Matcha Macarons (2 mina)
Between two thin cookies would be a delicious vanilla and caramel infused crème, a perfectly sweet yet savory dessert!

The Sheepa, Merela, and Gwen (2 mina)
A stew made from the losing sheep of the Celia’nor sheep race, truly a meal fit for last place.

Penguin Stew (2 mina)
Just as the name suggests, it’s a hardy stew made from penguin meat and a variety of vegetables. Perfect for the colder times of the year.

The Classic Griller (3 mina)
A different spin on the grilled chicken sandwich, the meat would be almost drenched in butter and herbs with mild spices, onions, and lettuce chunks placed between two slices of toasted bread.

Raspberry Lamb Kebabs (3 mina) 
A set of three grilled kebabs, each with five pieces of cooked mutton. Sandwiched between the pieces of meat would be onions, squash, or yam in an alternating fashion and would be drizzled with a combination of brown sugar and raspberry juice to make a sweet glaze to accompany the savory flavors!

This coffee is refined by its rich caramel flavor combined with a hint of sea salt that brings out a fine balance of flavors. Whether iced or served hot, this coffee is delicious and will satisfy any sweet tooth.
 
Mint Tea (2 mina)
This classic tea grown within Celia’nor would have the light and refreshing aroma of freshly picked mint. Delicious whether chilled or served piping hot!
 
Peach Sweet Tea (2 mina)
A black tea that is flavored and sweetened with peaches and cane sugar, it's best served over ice with a sprig of mint!
 
 
Earl Ruthern Tea (3 mina)
This secret blend would have a distinct floral and citrus taste. It's typically served with a small slice of lemon and is the perfect drink to sit down and read a book with.

Boozy Lemon (2 mina) 
A light rum cut with saltwater and blended with real lemons. It would smell like freshly squeezed lemonade and give you a nice buzz!

The Pink Hornet (2 mina)
A vodka based dragonfruit cocktail, served with a rim of honey and sugar. Served with a cut of fresh, raw sugarcane.

Gin N Bubbles (2 mina)
As suggested by the name, this gin would be mixed with champagne in order to achieve a bubbly drink! Garnished with lemon and lime slices to cut the strong bite from the alcohol.

 

Amberstone Elixir (3 mina)
A full-bodied brandy that was carefully distilled, creating intense flavors of stone, tropical fruits, and subtle spice notes.

Martini Lagoon (3 mina)
This smooth vodka would be flavored and garnished with fresh blueberries and lavender, creating an utterly dangerous yet delicious liquor!

Margarita Mountain (3 mina)
A tequila based drink flavored with lime, citrus, and agave syrup. The rim of the glass would have a green colored salt, carrying a small spice kick due to the jalapeno garnish.

A bright green, bubbly concoction of melon and gin, topped with a scoop of ice cream.

Ivarielle's Humor (3 mina)
This wonderful red wine is the driest there is in the Principality! The wine has matured below the wonderful slopes of Starpool, giving it a truly special taste!
 
Celian Pontac (3 mina)
A sweet crimson wine which tastes of fruits such as strawberries. Pairs well with dried beef, wild boar, and goulash.

Celia'nor Cerulean (3 mina)
This authentic Celia'nor wine would boast the flavors of pears, blueberries, and marzipan alongside a remarkable cerulean hue.

Warmonger's Delight (3 mina)
This wine would be full of crisp flavors such as passion fruit, gooseberry, pear, and elderflower with a touch of lime zest. It has a long and dry finish that grips you as if it's drinking you back!

A sweet champagne made of strawberries and honey.

Fi'andria Champagne (4 mina)
A light bubbling champagne would be encased in a magegold foil wrapping, keeping it perfectly chilled till opened and served!

Produced in the traditional way this liquor would have the characteristic scent of Savoyard plums, however the mystique behind it is it’s hidden potency.
