 From ages past, the Lur Clan has always been a constant in the life of the orcs of the Horde. From the first days of Lur himself, the lastborn son of Krug alongside his brothers Rax and Gorkil, the path of the Lur orc has always been to hunt and scout the world for new lands for the Uruk Hordes.  Mastery over beasts and the land itself is intrinsic to the Lur way of life, with Lurs dominating the animal husbandry industry of the Horde along with growing an array of herbs & hallucinogens to assist in healing and shamanic rituals. The Lur relies not solely on his Krug-given strength, for Lur was the smallest of his brothers and relied on his wits and lithe frame to outwit and outmaneuver his quarry when compared to his brothers. To this end, Clan Lur carries Lur's legacy of the Lurwolf, the holy beast Clan Lur takes as their Totem, along with the taming of great beasts and teamwork with their sworn siblings to take down their prey. To those who have crossed blades with a wolf before in the wild, they would know...

The prowess of the Lur in the art of Hunting extends to any who would defy the Horde, with Clan Lur's scouts raising the flayed skins of their enemies as banners to praise the Spirits and demoralize their foes. Beast, Darkspawn, Descendant. All can be considered quarry to a seasoned Lur Hunter. This skill in battle is tempered with a deep Spiritualist understanding of the Lur orc, with Lurs focusing on tempering their rage and taming their Bloodlust, for it is an afront to Lur their Ancestor to lose sight of oneself and become the beasts they seek to overcome. The skin of blooded Lurs is always Green, a reflection of their pure nature as the cubs of Krug and devotion to the Yasaq, a Code of Honour that sets the course for the Clan to follow and stay true on the path to righteousness. 

Like most of the early Orcish Clans, the Lurs take their name from Lur, their Great Ancestor and Krug's last son. The Lur Clan is one of the oldest of the Horde's Clan, stretching back to the days of the old War Uzg and before. The Lur Clan's culture and history is long and as storied as the Horde's existence, with a Lur taking great pride in their lineage and heritage. Much like the other Great Clans of ages past such as the Ugluk and Gorkil, the Lurs ride the great Lurwolves first tamed by Lur himself, a tradition that has been passed on to his successors. The Lurwolf is a sacred beast, they possess intellect above that of their canine kin and are solely loyal to thier Lur masters. When a fullblood Lur takes one for a companion, they do so for life, with many Shamans believing that the bond between wolf and orc is a spiritual one, a belief many Lurs hold that they will be united with their wolves in death at Kor's Gate.

The stories of Clan Lur begin with Lur himself, when he fought great beasts in the name of his father, Krug, ancestor of all orcs and goblins, and of Votar the Great Spirit of the Hunt. Tales of Bloodriders who swore fealty to Lur, forming the Bloodlines that mark the Clan's lineage and prowess in combat. The Lur Clan shuns the use of dark magicks, for it was Clan Lur that put the Dom Clan to the sword when they turned to such foul ways for their own power. The keeping of these stories is told orally by the Elders who keep their traditions, and of the Lurgoth, their Chieftain in epic poems that recount the heritage and battles of their noble Clan.

Being one of the oldest Clans, Clan Lur are staunch traditionalists and guard the Old Ways of the orcs carefully, being open minded yet skeptical of novel ideas. The Lurs pride themselves on embracing the new while maintaining an unbroken link to the old. This acknowledgement of adapting allows them to excel in their famed prowess of hunting.

The Clan Trials

To prove oneself worthy of the Clan, it is tradition that all who come to the Clan and those of the age of Thirteen to undergo the Three Trials as it has been for all time. The First Trial is the Trial of the Hunt, a beast is chosen by the Clan's Lurgoth or one of the Clan's Khural to be either brought back or slain depending on the skills of the Cub and the danger of the beast in question. The hunt must be done by the Cub alone, without any assistance save for basic tools for trapping the beast, else the Cub shall be ordered to take penance for profaning the sacred nature of the Hunt. The Cub must return with either the captured animal or a trophy taken from their quarry. Once they have passed this test, the Second Trial begins after a period of time after the First.

Spiritualism is central to Clan Lur, and the Second Trial is no exception, the Trial of the Spirits. The Trial requires the Cub to serve either Votar, Freygoth, or a lesser of either for a time. The tasks requested of the Spirit may be to build a shrine, offer a sacrifice from a hunt, or participate in a Spirit Walk with one of the Clan's Elders. After this task is done, the Cub must imbibe a cocktail of carefully prepared drugs to induce the applicant into a blood-rage. The Cub must reflect on their time serving the Spirits, chanting mantras and meditating on their service to the Spirits, if they manage to tame the rage through these rites they have passed this, passing onto the final trial.

The Last Trial is the Trial of Loyalty, one cannot and should not be considered part of the pack unless they demonstrate absolute loyalty to the Clan. The Trial begins with the Cub submitting themself to being marked by the Lurgoth themself, the rite involves being tattooed over several hours with the design reflecting the Cub's own trials before. While the Lurgoth marks the Cub, they must recite the Lur Oath:  "I swear that I will ride like the wind, hunt like the wolf and kill like my ancestors before me. My weapon belongs to Lur, my body belongs to Lur, my life belongs to Lur. I am loyal above all to Lur, I will die for Lur. I forsake my land, wealth and glory, all that is mine belongs to my clan." The Cub must not waver or cry out during the rite, for every word said the marking deepens into their flesh, solidifying the bonds of blood and spirit into the Clan. The Trial is considered complete when the marking is done and the Khural welcomes the Cub as a Wolf of Clan Lur. Bearing the responsibilities of an adult and may be permitted to bond with a Lurwolf as a full Lur with the rights and privileges of the Clan being bestowed upon them.

Flaying & Bone Crafting

Clan Lur considers it dishonorable and disrespectful to waste a kill by leaving it to rot, with Lur settlements often being decorated with hides and bones of great beasts as it was done during Lur's own lifetime. The skins and bones of Lur's bounty are often used for a variety of implements ranging from tools, jewelry, weapons, paints and even building materials for yurts and huts. The Clan attracts smiths, alchemists, tinkers and other artisans that can work on these materials for bettering the Clan even selling their wares to other lands to raise a profit for the Clan's coffers.  Yet when performed on descendants, the rite of Flaying or Scalping can be seen as an act of respect to the defeated if they have performed honourably in combat or as an act of extreme ire in the case of a Lur Orc taking their downed foe and skinning them alive. In either case, the Lur shall take the skin or scalp and bring it to the Clan's Hall to be displayed as a trophy, with the skinned corpses of their victim either left at an altar to the Spirits or impaled as a warning to those who would make war on the Clan.

Nomadism

The life of a Nomad is one that some of the Lur Clan may take on the open road, with the Lur setting up a yurt over an open fire with the meat of a kill hanging from smoking racks to make Boorts (Jerky), herding animals or practicing shooting from wolf or horseback to hunt better or evade their enemies as they gallop off, with hit and run tactics being a staple of Lur warfare. Nomadic Lurs are zealous in their faith, praising the Spirits of Votar, Freygoth, the Travel Spirit Ghorza and the Elementals who can make their journey easy with proper praise and sacrifice. Lur himself was a nomad, and so it isn't unheard of for a Lur to take a long trip with a few hunters or even by themselves for a period. Yet when the Khural calls, the nomads must answer and return to the halls to rejoin the pack and make ready for war or a Great Hunt that requires all of the Clan to take part in.

Ordeal of Votar

Honour is the bedrock of the Lur identity, breaking the Lur Yasaq and showing dishonour can lead to the Ordeal of Votar being performed on the orc who has broken the Yasaq. Honor is sacred in the clan. The condemned is lead to a hunting ground, bound and prepared with no weapons or clothing beyond a simple garment before being released and chased by the rest of the Clan. This punishment is treated as any other hunt, with the Clan in pursuit of the condemned armed with spears and axes, should the condemned escape and survive the ordeal they are granted a pardon by the Khural, for Votar has favoured them in this Ordeal and has proven their innocence. If the Condemned should fail, they are flayed living and offered to Votar as an offering, their flayed skin is branded with the crime and name of the offender before being hanged outside the wall of the Clan's settlement.

The Horde may have it's own laws, yet Clan Lur governs by the Yasaq, a legal system that has been passed down from Goth to Goth, with the Five Laws having been with the Clan since the time of Lur that have remained unchanged, standing as both a constant and precedent in times when the Clan is at a loss of identity & crisis. The Yasaq represents Clan Lur's commitment to honour, serving as a moral guide for the Clan, not merely a set of laws that are to be obeyed blindly by the Clan but as a set of rules that dictate behaviour as well.

Only when in great need will a Lur hunt the weak, for there is no honor, respect and glory in killing which provides no challenge to hunt and or kill.

A Lur will always seek strong prey. The greater the challenge, the greater the prize, and with a great challenge, great strength follows.

 Gakh III

Never to hunt, or kill another Lur outside of a Mak'Gora. Challenge those that oppose you, do not kill them foolishly.

Zag IV

Obey the Lurgoth with no hesitation, for they were chosen by the ancestors, the elders and Lur himself. 

Krâk V

Never attempt the sabotage or the taking of another Lur’s position for your own personal gain. The clan always comes first. 

Later codes were added by succeeding Lurgoths to improve the Clan's standing, while these laws may not have the same pedigree as the Five, they are still part of the Yasaq and are to be followed regardless despite being amended or removed depending on the Lurgoth's orders and the conditions of the Clan as a whole.

Only Elders and Chieftains may challenge for Wargoth, and it must be done with the support of the Hunters who will have to live under their ruling. (Yarrow'Lur)

Udu VII

Betrayal of the Spirits is a Betrayal against the Clan, a Lur must pledge to take refuge in no gods but the Spirits and honour their oaths with them. (Gutlug'Lur)

Skri VII

The flesh of Descendants and Bûrz is for the Spirits and Beasts alone, the consumption of which is forbidden for Lur's Cubs. Take only their Hide and Bone for that is your due. (Gutlug'Lur)

Religion for Lurs revolves around the veneration of the Immortal and Elemental Spirits along with a heavy veneration of their Ancestors, especially that of the ancestors of the Five Bloodlines (Sword, Fist, Wolf, Axe and Trickster) and of Lur himself. The Lurs are fanatic spiritualists, with Shamans of Clan Lur often taking the role of Warrior-Ascetics, spending time on long pilgrimages and spirit walks to hone their connection, fasting and making sacrifices to the Spirits to gain Votar's favour for a successful hunt or encouraging a good weather for travelling the lands in search of prey or a good site to set up camp. Lur Lutaumans (Death Shamans) and Haruspexies (History Shamans) keep a knowledge of the Clan's genealogy, tracking Bloodlines and regaling the old stories at campfires, beating drums while singing praises to their Ancestors to keep the memory alive and pass on their legacy. Lur Farseers (Spirit-Guides) and Animists (Elemental Samans) often serve the Clan through preaching to the Clan in ceremonies or leading Spirit Walks & meditation circles through trances and powerful substances. The Lur Shaman may appear as a monk or a dervish of sorts to the untrained eye, their devotion of the Spirits matched only by the sacred nature of the Hunt and it's sanctity. 

The Patron Spirits of Votar and Freygoth, along with their lessers, make up the core of the Lur Clan's worship. Though, individual Clan members can worship any Spirit not forbidden by the Khural or the Horde in their own personal practices. The Clan does not suffer heretics or those not of the Spiritualist Faiths to be practice, with exceptions only being granted to non-Krugkin serving as Ughlans (Bannermen) to the Clan if the Khural agrees which is a seldom occurrence. 

Holding steadfast on the traditions of the Old Horde, Clan Lur maintains a chain of command similar to older Clans centered around the Lurgoth or "Lur Lord" in the Common Tongue, is the Paramount Chief of the Clan and the enforcer of the Clan's traditions. They are in charge of maintaining order and disputes, along with setting the Clan's agenda. Chieftains act as seconds to the Lurgoth, each serving as head of one of the Five Bloodlines and can lead the Clan in cases of absence.  The Elders act as advisors both both Chieftains and the Lurgoth themself, acting as keepers of the Clan's memory and ways to better guide the Clan's future. The Clan's Packmaster is in charge of the Clan's resources and beasts, making sure the Clan is well stocked hunts. All are members of the Clan's Khural, or assembly, the governing body of the Clan at large and they discuss and debate how to lead the Clan with the Lurgoth having the final say in all matters, as it was in the old days.

Below the Khural are the Bloodriders, the Clan's elite hunters and warriors, two of which are bound to each Chieftain and selected for their prowess in battle along with their personal qualities. They serve as the bodyguards & enforcers of the Clan, with each acting as the eyes and ears of their respective Chieftains. Hunters are the Blooded members of the Clan, orcs and other Krugkin of Lur Blood that have passed their trials and have been granted their marks. Below them are the Ughlan, a new term with the abolition of honouraries to describe non-Krugkin  sworn to the Clan as Bannermen, they are considered members of the Clan yet are not of Lur Blood and have the right to be outfitted with the Clan's equipment and bear the Lur Banner in times of war, Ughlans may not hold office or further rank beyond Bloodrider. Cubs are young Lurs  and new recruits who haven't yet completed their Trials, they are not full members yet.

To my people, the Hunters, the slayers ob Great Beasts agh foes ob the Uzg alike, Votar's Champions,

I, Gutlug'Lur, former Chieftain agh Elder ob Clan Lur, assume the title ob Lurgoth. After the Spirits deklared their Divine Will through a Hurricane that ended the Klomp with my predecessor, Morzgak'Lur, along with his subsequent absence from Clan affairs, I lay Claim to the Title of Lurgoth. For now, Clan Lur shall be stewarded by Madoc'Lur, my mentor while I make Pilgrimage to the Ilzgûlz so that they may offer their Grukkage to further our Clan's future in this uzg. I call upon Votar to strengthen our resolve to the Hunt, our Divine Mission entrusted upon Lur himself by Krug, agh upon our Mother Freygoth to grant our people bounty agh game in this tik ob strife.

Once I return in the coming Cactus Weeks, I shall return with the grukkage agh purpose that the Ilzgûlz'hai have tasked of me, and officially take up the mantle ob Lurgoth if unchallenged with my return from Pilgrimage. A great hunt agh feast shall be held for all Urukhim agh those aligned with us to celebrate when the tik comes. For too long have our people been left without one, for too long I was left rudderless in the Deserts. Yet the past is dead, and I must embrace the Future. Clan Lur needs a Chieftain, both with wisdom and leadership. One who shall act as the Wargoth’s hand and aide. After Grimruk the steel wolf challenged Madoc, our former wargoth to a klomp for the title, the position in the lur clan as the right hand of the Wargoth, the Chieftain, remains now empty as Grimruk now leads the clan. I am now claiming the position of Chieftain and will remain that way until challenged for it. I have grown up in the clan alongside Bruddah Grimruk through mud and water. I will not disappoint the clan and as always, LUP’LUR, LUP’VOTAR.

The Lur clan originates from one of Krug’s original sons, and so, as with the other ‘legacy clans’ , the Lur clan has followed their ancestry line for centuries. However, with the recent troubles, this has stopped among all clans. Lur will take this upon themselves to continue their orcish legacy and write the history of both their ancestors and future descendants.

The Lur clan is divided into five bloodlines. Each of these bloodlines comes from the heroes of the great age. They are each led by an elder of the clan, a descendant, and a blooded member of the clan. They are split as follows:

THE FIST OF LUR 

ELDER: n|a

The descendants of TOR are known to be calm and calculating. They are perhaps the strongest, and most intelligent out of the bloodlines. Their minds are powerful, as much as their strength.

THE AXE OF LUR

ELDER: n|a

 The descendants of BRALKOR are most known for being stubborn and rash, their size is larger than other Lurs and they commonly value Honor above all. They view themselves as an always improving warrior.

THE WOLF OF LUR

The descendants of KURAK and their natural instincts are savage, wild yet, their loyalty cannot be unbeaten, and their trust never broken. The largest of all bloodlines and the most violent.

THE SWORD OF LUR

 The descendants of JARKAN, show to be the most agile of Lur’s. Preferring to be fast in the wind, they tend to take high risks to fill their need for speed.

 The descendants of TRICKSTER are the wisest of the clan. Commonly preferring to be the diplomat, using words instead of violence. Due to Trickster being a goblin, this clan is the smallest of the Lurs. 

CLAN ELDERS

The clan’s elders are the leaders of each bloodline. These are the orcs that take over their bloodline and represent it for the clan. It is their duty to make sure the bloodline remains and does not end. These are more than likely orcs that have proved themselves, with either heroic acts or with great wisdom.

 

The Lur clan is a traditional clan. And as such, they kept to the similar hierarchy of other clans. The Wargoth is the leader of the clan; their job is to follow the clan’s traditions and make sure the clan keeps its honor and glory. The Chieftain’s job is to take care of the members, second in command to the Wargoth, in case the Wargoth is unavailable. The Elders are in charge of the bloodlines; their job is to teach the younger clan members, and to help the clan reach its goals. The Packmaster is the role of the orc that takes care of beasts, Lur wolves, and clan activities. The Hunter is the basic role of the clan, given to an official Lur once they have completed all their trials.

The children of Lur are not footmen, they are hunters. Known for their great instincts to track and hunt, tame, and overcome all beasts. The members of Clan Lur also pride themselves on withholding their cursed bloodlust, keeping themselves calm with the thrill and violence of a hunt. With the help of their companions, the ancient Lur Wolves, they thrive to become the best at any skill they overtake.

With the help of the hunt, the calm brothers and sisters of Lur showcased their honor more than any clan, which helped form their strict code.

Lur was a smaller orc than others, and he was made fun of for his size. However, this did not stop him from reaching his goal, making him the greatest hunter and beast tamer that had ever lived. Lurs are historically smaller than other orcs, both in height and in muscle mass. This helps them move faster through denser areas, and be more agile against a great beast. Unlike other clans, which have blessed themselves with the help of the spirits, pure-blooded Lurs remain green.

The Lur clan was formed by the greater ancestor, Lur, one of the sons of Krug. Their culture has great depth, for they are one of the oldest clans still alive today. Dating back to the times of Gorkil, Azog, and Ugluk. The Lur hold a great bond with a mount that has followed them back to the founding of the clan, the Great Lur Wolves. They are highly intelligent beasts, and only follow their masters. Some say that the Great Wolves and the Lurs are spiritually bonded. The bond between the two, helps the Lurs in hunts and beast taming, which their ancestor Lur was known for.

Due to the clan's history dating back to the age of heroes, Clan Lur follows its ancestry dearly. A tradition now forgotten by all orcs is, however, being brought back by the clan.

The greatest honor for a Lur is to die in a hunt or in battle. Upon death, Clan Lur believes that Kor will bring them to Votar, who will introduce them to their great ancestor Lur, so they can hunt together in the great spiritual hunting plains for eternity.

THE TRIAL OF THE HUNT

Honor is sacred in the clan. For if one breaks the code and shows no honor, the clan will impose punishment on the honorless. The honorless orc will be placed on the hunting grounds, alone and bound. There, the clan will begin preparing their spears and axes to hunt them down. Once the clan is ready, the honorless are released and given the right to flee like a wild animal. It is then, the clan begins their hunt. If the honorless have the ability to outrun the great clan, then they are seen as innocent in the eyes of Votar. However, if they are caught, they are to be a sacrifice to the spirit.

COMING OF AGE

Once the blooded Lur has reached the age of 13 they are introduced to a Lur wolf pup. Then, the wolf and the young Lur are sent into the most dangerous part of the wild in the coming days to prove that the time of weakness and innocence is over and that it is time to be strong and to be a hunter. The bond between the two will grow greatly. There are even myths that ancient Lurs and their wolves could hear each other's thoughts. Upon the death of the wolf, the Lur shall never tame one again. As an act of respect for their fallen brother, the wolf will be slain by the closest of the Lur, or the wolf will give itself up so it can be buried or burned alongside its brother.

BONE CRAFTING

It is seen as dishonorable and disrespectful to slay a beast and not thank it by leaving its body to rot. Every part of a beast is used. From its hide to its bone. It is said that San’Lur, after being taken from the humans, was decorated with the great bones of beasts Lur had slain. Since then, bone has been an important material in Lur culture. HUNT OF THE BETRAYED 

A great hunt set in honor of those that had fallen during the clan wars. The Lur use black steel for this hunt, believing that the darkened metal brings their ancestors closer. When the beasts are hunted down, their bodies will be placed in a great bonfire, symbolizing the waste of their brethren, and how their deaths brought nothing but dishonor and chaos.

ANCESTRALISM

Ancestralism is the worship of the spiritual ancestors. This faith was once followed by all clans, primarily led by the clans that dated back to the age of heroes. However, in recent times, the close following of their ancestors has died, but is now slowly rising once more.

In the past, the Lurs were known for their great knowledge of their ancestors, knowing their bloodline back to Lur himself. It is a tradition long forgotten but brought back recently. 

Ancestors are worshipped and praised through sacrifices and rituals that consist of deep connections between the two. With the help of a lutauman, the orcs have the ability to become greatly interested in and intertwined with their ancestors. It is common tradition to worship one ancestor alongside the immortals.

SPIRITUALISM 

The Lurs have a history of worshipping Freygoth and Votar primarily. However, in recent times, this has changed. Votar still remains a great priority, but Freygoth does not. All Lurs are encouraged to follow the spirits, though they lean more on the ancestral side. They are also encouraged to worship any spirit they like.

The clan holds a code to make sure they uphold their honor at all times. Breaking this code can enable strong punishment, from a light one such as a beating to a sentence of death or even a ‘whitewashing’ from the clan. This code was set by Lur himself when the time was young and he still walked among his brothers.

NUMBER I

Only when in great need will a Lur hunt the weak, for there is no honor, respect and glory in killing which provides no challenge to hunt and or kill.

A lur will always seek strong prey. The greater the challenge, the greater the prize, and with a great challenge, great strength follows.

Never to hunt, or kill another Lur outside of a Mat’Mauk. Challenge those that oppose you, do not kill them foolishly.

THE NEW TRIALS

The Lur clan has always excelled in hunting, animalism and husbandry throughout the years, dating all the way back to the great Lur himself, who founded the clan and was renowned not only for slaying large and insurmountable beasts, but also for taming them as well. His children, to this day continue down the honorable path that Lur himself has set out for his king, and those that would follow in his footsteps, striving to become the greatest hunters in all the lands.

・TRIAL AZH - The Great Hunt・

The art of the hunt was always an important aspect of a Lurs life, dating all the way back to when Lur himself founded the great clan. For a Lur, the hunt serves as the embodiment of their skill and dedication of spending many days, months and even years, tracking down and hunting their prey, to offer it to Votar, The Spirit of the Hunt. During their first trial, the aspiring Lur will have to decide on a beast of their choosing and hunt it down, while not being allowed to hunt anything else during the process, or risk failing the trial. This will demonstrate to the other members that the fledgling Lur has patience and tolerance for the hunt, as they ignore the elements and any obstacles that appear in their way. Finally, once the beast has been hunted down, the trophy must be brought back to the Clan and presented to a Lur member or the Wargoth.

・TRIAL DUB - The Trial of The Mind・

Although the hunt is an important part of a Lurs trials, nothing is as important as the mind of the young fledgling, for with a strong mind comes the ability to make critical decisions and figure out how to best overcome stressful situations. But most importantly, a strong mind is key to not letting bloodlust cloud the Lurs judgment, thus preventing them from becoming frenzied and reckless. In order to test the mind, the fledgling will be given a mixture of carefully selected drugs to consume, either via drinking or eating it. Once the drug mixture has been consumed, the soon to be Lur will be placed into a box which will be hammered down with nails, where the young fledgling will have to spend 24 narrative hours, surviving the effects of isolation, darkness and the drugs. Should the Lur overcome their mind and its tricks, they will successfully complete the second trial. However, should they give in to the tricks and the wickedness of their mind, the trial will be considered a failure.

・TRIAL GAKH - The Sacrifice・

The third trial is arguably the hardest trial that the future Lur will have to undergo. At the beginning of their trials, the fledgling hunter will be given a pet to care for throughout their journey, all the way up until the final trial. Once the Lur reaches the third and final trial, they will have to make the difficult choice and to sacrifice the pet that they have been caring for all this time, by offering the sacrifice to Votar, the Spirit of The Hunt. Once the sacrifice has been carried out, the soon to be Lur will be baptized in the animals blood before being given a tattoo by the Wargoth to symbolize the completion of their trial and be welcomed into the Lurs as a full member. However, should the pet die or run off, before or during any of the trials, the third and final trial will be considered a failure. The same will apply should the Lur not be able to sacrifice the animal, thus showing dishonor towards the Spirit of The Hunt.

The Wendigos are by far the biggest and the most savage of the three groups, relying solely on their raw animalistic instincts, to track down and hunt down their prey. When tasting blood, a Wendigo would feel an insane dopamine rush to their head, as they are consumed by their raw, uncontrolled and unhinged blood-lust, which twists their mind, making them focus only on the prey, as the hunter is unable to focus on anything else, until the target is dead. Due to their addiction to the hunt, it is not uncommon for the Wendigos to grow restless or go psychotic if they are separated from their prey for too long, making them prone to random outbursts of violence, be it against other descendants or their fellow kin. Due to their extreme nature as hunters, it is not uncommon for them to use the blood and the bones of their prey, in rituals and clothing, or use them as warpaint and weapons.

THE NOMADS

Unlike the Wendigos, the Nomads are the more civilized members of the Lur clan. This group focuses on their agility and quickness to best their prey, as they enjoy riding their mounts, be it the Lur wolves or horses, as they wield various weapons, and wear various armors and clothes, as they hunt throughout the wilds of Alamris and the jungles of the Iron’Uzg. Unlike the other two, the Nomads focus greatly on worshiping the Spirit of the Hunt Votar and Freygoth, the Spirit of the Wild, Animals and Plants. The Nomads are the more free spirited when compared to others, as they are not bound to one place, and instead wander around the lands of Alamris, while less prone to staying fixated in one place. However, when the Wargoth of the Lur Clan calls, the Nomads answer the call, and arrive back to join up with the other Lurs, for longer periods of time.

THE ROOKS

The Rooks are the more peaceful group within the Lur clan, consisting of all those that want to pursue their own ideas. Therefore, this group is a gathering of both Uruk, Goblins and Honoraries alike, that instead wish to practice their own crafts be it smithing, alchemy, building or anything else they specialize in. The Rooks are the ones that tend to turn towards exploring and charting the world, while also dabbling in traveling and trading their goods to other nations. On the other hand, some Rooks choose to stay within the clan, and focus on creating things such as potions, tools and weapons for the other members, equipping the hunters with the best orcish gear. Finally, some Rooks practice crafts such as medicine, where they focus on using different herbs, knowledge and techniques, to patch the other members of the Lur clan, when they are suffering from injuries.

The Lur clan has made their mark upon the Orcish people through their prowess in hunting, animalism, and husbandry. Lur himself was renowned for not only slaying large and insurmountable beasts, but for taming them as well. Lur-Goi, one of the first orcish cities, sat atop the back of the most fearsome opponent; a Scaddernak. Paying respect to the honor of his lineage, the trials have been changed to better

reflect this.

The art of the hunt is an important aspect of any orc's life. In a Lur, it exists as a testament to their skill and dedication. The hunt takes place in two stages. During the first, the aspiring Lur must track and capture a living animal of their Wargoth's choosing. This shows their patience and tolerance for the hunt, and the elements that work against them during it. The second stage involves bringing the beast before the Wargoth and slaying it, where the orc will be anointed with its blood and baptised anew under the ever watchful eye of Lur Himself.

・DUB・

As a Lur connects with nature and its bounties, it is necessary to demonstrate their respect and thankfulness for the wilds off of which they thrive. A shrine is constructed throughout the world, in the name of Freygoth and Votar, or even in the name of their favoured prey's spiritual representative. This both shows their respect for the selected spirit, and invokes them, so they will smile on the orc's future hunts.

・GAKH・

The final trial is meant to leave a permanent mark on the young hunter, solidifying both their connection to nature and to the spirits. The initiate is brought before the Wargoth of the clan, who consults the spirits on a suitable animal marker to scrawl across their skin. The inking process takes hours, with nothing to relieve from the pain in order to build up a tolerance. This can be mundane, or the Wargoth may petition a Farseer for a tattoo of higher quality should they find the initiate to be worthy of it.

The Lur Clan was formed by Lur, one of the four sons of Krug. The clan has a long history in Orcish culture, standing itself alongside the Gorkil and Azog clans as some of the longest in existence. 

The Lurs are not footmen, they are hunters. The hunt is the most important thing for a Lur. To prove themselves in the hunt is what all young Lurs wish to do. The Lurs have a bond to The Great Lur wolves, huge intelligent beasts that only obey the Lur clan. Along with hunting, Lurs are master beast tamers, whether it be a simple canine being or even the scaddernak.

Trained as a kub to take advantage of the nature that Freygoth provides them, they spend countless hours living among the beasts of the lands. Taming and using these beasts come with great skill, only a select few Lurs are able to master this talent. Along with beast-taming, there are many other skills that Lurs tend to take up. Every Lur strives to perfect the hunt and to rise. They have a strict code of conduct and believe in honor above all. Lurs are usually smaller than other Orcs, but they make up for it by being much quicker and more agile.

When a Lur or their Wolf are killed in the hunt or in battle, their bodies are brought to their ancestral lands and then burnt. Their ashes go to the wind and will always ride in the wind. The Lur believe that when they die they go to a great plains of the spirit realm where they will hunt with Lur for all eternity.

The Trial of the Hunt: Should a Lur or anyone else under Lur rule break a code or do an act against the Lur clan, then they shall be trialed by hunt. The rule breaker will be armed and set out into the night by themselves with their wolf detained. The rest of the clan will spend time preparing for the hunt that is about to begin. Once they are ready, they set out to hunt down the accused in hopes to find them, and slay them; Being treated as an animal or other worthy beast. However should they be caught, they will serve as a sacrifice to Votar, as he chose to bless the hunters more than that hunted. Although if they survive, their crimes shall be vanquished as the spirit of Votar has been pleased with their performance.

Coming of Age: When Lurs reach the age of 9 years they are introduced to a Lur wolf cub. The Lur and its wolf are sent to the wilds to survive. This is to prove that the time of weakness is over, they are no longer prey, it is time to be strong, to be the hunter. The wolf cub and the Lur are bound together not only as rider and mount but as brothers, elder Lurs have grown so close to their wolves they can hear each other's thoughts. Once a Lur wolf dies, a Lur shall never tame one again, as an act of respect for failing these beasts. However shall the orc die, the Lur wolf will be slain, and laid to rest with the orc.

 Popular spirits that are worshipped among the Lur Clan are Votar, the Spirit of the Hunt and Freygoth, the Spirit of Nature.

Only when in great need will a Lur hunt the weak.

A Lur will always seek strong prey, as the prize is greater and he becomes stronger in doing so. 

They are never to hurt or kill another Lur outside of an honour duel.

Obey the leader of the hunt (Wargoth of the Lur clan) with no hesitation. They were chosen by the elders and by Lur himself. 

Only Elders and Chieftains may challenge for Wargoth, and it must be done with the support of the Hunters who will have to live under their ruling.

Furthermore, Lurs should never try to take the position of another Lur for your own personal gain. The Clan always comes first.

The Fist Bloodline: The Fist are usually the most calm and cold of the Lur bloodlines, they think that physical strength is the purest weapon that a warrior can use. They descend from Tor, the Fist of Lur. The sons of Tor will go to extreme measures to get stronger and stronger.

The Trickster Bloodline: The trickster descends from the Trickster of Lur. They are the most diplomatic and the best at convincing others to do what they want, The Tricksters sons are many times goblins for their founder was goblin. They are often considered to be some of the smartest Orcs arounds.

The Wolf Bloodline: The most savage and wild of bloodlines but also the most loyal and trustworthy. The wolves descend from Kurak the Wolf of Lur.They are the biggest of the Lurs and their preferred weapons are metal claws that let them act as savage as they want. They also have a closer bond to their wolves than other Lurs.

The Axe Bloodline: Primarily known as the most stubborn and rash of all Lurs, they are strong and powerful and put honour above all other things. They think of themselves as an always improving warrior. They descend from Bralkor the Axe of Lur.

The Sword of Lur: This bloodline is the most agile of all Lurs and some of the quickest as well, they enjoy riding as fast as they can and they descend from Jarkan the Sword of Lur.

Trial One: A hunt of equivalent value to be determined by the Wargoth. More ambitious uruks may receive a more challenging trial should they wish to prove themselves and earn favor within the clan. The spoils of their trial will be hung on the Wall of Hunts. 

Trial Two: Trial by Hunt! Having passed trial one, the Scout is now tossed into the wilderness with only their wits and their lur wolf, and must spend the entire night hunted by two Hunters. Should they survive, they will pass and move to the next trial. Should they fail, they are forced to wait a year to improve their skills until they can demand to try again. It should be noted that if the Scout is not of Bloodline and therefore has no Lur Wolf, the same rules apply, except the Hunters will not use their wolves. 

Trial Three: A good hunter is also a good leader. For their third trial, the scout must lead a hunt of their own with at least 3 of their brethren to success. Once the kills have been brought back, the entire clan will cook and feast upon the spoils, and the Scout will take the Lur Vow to become an official Hunter!
