FOREWORD & INTRODUCTION 

One of life’s deepest fulfilments comes from creating new life, shaping a future that will surpass us and preserve legacies beyond our own. With each new generation, we plant the seeds of progress, hope, and possibility, building a bridge from the past to a brighter future. It is my own personal hope that with this announcement, the Princely house of Alstreim may continue to play its role in contributing to a greater purpose.

With such, it is with great joy that Wilhelm and I do hereby announce that within the halls of Ulrichsburg upon the early morning of the 8th of Horen’s Calling, 1889, was the Princely house blessed by the birth of not one, but two new additions to our family. Let it be known that furthermore they shall be known as:

I have served as the shepherd and leader of my family for many decades at this point, I have seen our home and kingdom ebb and flow with the times. I have served within the council for much of my time amongst the living, seeing the workings of our good and glorious government. And for much of that time, it was good to be an Aaunishman, good to be a heartlander, and now once more just an Aaunishman and a lowlander but with time, leadership has a  toll on oneself, and I believe it is time I step to the side and live out my retirement in nicer and lusher lands. But before such, there is one act I have left.

THE SUCCESSOR OF THE COUNTY OF VES

Here is the one act I have left. And that act is in regards to my heir; of late I have found my son Demetrio to be lacking in his conviction to our family, I have not seen him for well over a year now, and such is most concerning. With such in mind, it is necessary that I pass on my lands and titles to my youngest daughter, Ciecherella Contessina Varoche, she shall serve as the Countess of Ves and as the Visdomino of Adruzzo. Her mother Ciecherella shall serve as her regent until she reaches the age of majority and can rule our county and family for herself.

It has been fifty one years since the passing of my mother and my inheritance that soon followed. I have worked diligently to ensure that Velen and the Aschenwald prosper, but I have grown old and cannot work as I used to. It is time I step down from my position as Margrave and pass it unto one more capable than I.

I believe that my son and heir, Leufroy Otto, the Count of Revedin, is more than ready to inherit the mantle of Margrave of Velen and lead the House of Reuss. Once this missive is published, my son shall hold all my titles. Let this publication be known as the official announcement of my abdication.

It is my regret that I must abdicate my position as the Baron of Artois, my travels upon the roads of this world have brought me comfort as well as hardship, I have not laid my head in the same place twice in near two decades now. When I departed I was a man with a family, tested and eager to make my mark in this world. Although my time of travels come near to an end, they are not yet complete. My son, George who I raised with all of the words and wisdom taught to myself in my own upbringing, waits to play his part and I must not stand in the way any longer. 

I hereby abdicate my position as the Baron of Artois so that this title might pass to my son and heir Sir George of the House of Halcourt. 

I hereby abdicate my position as the head of House Halcourt and I proclaim my son as the patriarch of all of House Halcourt. 

May the new Baron of Artois go forth and step into the light of his new title. I shall go forward on my own, to continue my mission, to drive evil from the world and protect the innocent. To serve in the way Sir Gaspard of Veletz taught me. To make the world a better place.

As the Countess of Whisperwood reaches the age of majority, the Principality of Merryweather extends invitations across the realm to celebrate the special occasion. At request of the Lady Alstreim, guests are encouraged to wear their most expensive garbs and knights to don their armour.

Lady Johanna will address Aaunic society publicly for the first time, as the heiress to the Principality of Merryweather.

II. THE KNIGHTING OF LADY JOHANNA
From lady to dame, the Countess of Whisperwood will make modern Aaunic history as being the first woman to be knighted in our prestige realm, with HRAAM King Charles II bestowing the accolade unto her for all to see. Once ascending to her title of Dame Johanna of Merryweather, she is to take her sword and cut off a lock of her hair; a symbol of transition, letting go of one's childhood.

III. CELEBRATORY JIVING

After debuting, the merriment of the evening can commence in Ulrichsberg. A Waldenic dance, performed by the Countess’ sister, Lady Reinhilde Ilse, will lead off the celebrations as guests will enjoy some light refreshments and conversation. All are encouraged to dance with a partner.

I’ve always loved the feeling of the sun warming my back as I wander through the meadows of Enswerp. The little hamlet, nestled in the Kingdom of Aaun, is my world. Every day, I’d set off with my wicker basket, eager to collect whatever nature had to offer: vibrant wildflowers, fluttering butterflies, and the occasional beetle or dragonfly.

Today was no different. The morning air was crisp, and the dew on the grass sparkled like a million tiny stars. I skipped through the fields, picking daisies, buttercups, and a few rare bluebells. My small hands were already stained with pollen, but that was part of the fun. I hummed a song my Nana used to sing as I worked, feeling the rhythm of the day in my heart.

As the sun climbed higher, I wandered farther from the edge of the hamlet, drawn by a particularly lovely patch of lilies I had never seen before. I was so focused on the flowers that I didn’t notice how the landscape was changing around me. The trees began to thicken, their branches intertwining to form a dense canopy overhead. The once-familiar paths disappeared, replaced by tangled undergrowth and the eerie silence of the forest.

Realizing I’d strayed too far, I retraced my steps, but the forest seemed to twist and turn in ways I didn’t remember. Panic began to settle in as the shadows grew longer. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. “It’s just a forest,” I told myself, “I’ll find my way back.”

But the more I walked, the more I became disoriented. I could hear the faint murmur of a stream nearby, but every direction I chose led me deeper into the woods. I stumbled over roots and ducked under branches, my once-pristine dress now covered in dirt and twigs. My basket, too, had fallen, its contents scattered across the forest floor.

Just when I was about to give up hope, I noticed a small, dark opening between two boulders. My heart skipped a beat. Could it be a cave? I had heard stories about caves in this forest, said to lead to magical places or be home to ancient secrets. I felt a mixture of fear and excitement. If I could find shelter in the cave, I might figure out how to get back home.

Gathering my courage, I squeezed through the narrow entrance, holding my breath as I entered the dimly lit space. Inside, the cave was cool and damp. I could barely see, but I could make out the glistening of stalactites above and the smooth, cool stone underfoot. I took out my small lantern, which I had thankfully packed for such occasions, and lit it.

The cave was larger than I expected. I followed a faint path, trying to ignore the sounds of dripping water and the occasional rustle that made me jump. As I walked, I started to notice markings on the walls—ancient symbols and drawings. My Nana had told me stories about old forest dwellers who left their mark in places like these. I wondered if they were trying to guide me, or if they were just remnants of a long-forgotten time.

The path twisted and turned, and just as I was starting to lose hope again, I saw a faint light up ahead. I quickened my pace, my heart pounding with a mix of exhaustion and anticipation. As I rounded the final bend, I emerged from the cave and was greeted by the sight of a familiar clearing bathed in the golden light of the setting sun.

I had found my way back to the forest edge, just a short walk away from Enswerp. I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I emerged from the trees and saw the smoke rising from the chimneys of my home. My heart swelled with gratitude as I hurried back, my thoughts already on the comfort of my bed and the relief of my worried family.

When I finally burst through the door, my parents rushed to me, their faces a mixture of worry and joy. I wrapped my arms around them, feeling the warmth of home envelop me. I glanced at my basket, now empty except for a few resilient flowers that had survived the ordeal. I realized that while I had ventured into the unknown, I had also discovered something new about myself: I was braver and more resourceful than I had ever known.

That night, as I carefully pinned the last of my collected treasures into my books, I felt a deep sense of accomplishment. The adventure had been frightening, but it had also shown me the magic that lay just beyond the familiar paths. And as I drifted off to sleep, I knew that tomorrow, I would once again explore the world around me, but with a little more caution and a lot more wonder.

The great celebration will be held in the newly restored March of Grodno, now standing tall on the ruins of Castle Apracz. A sumptuous feast followed by fine entertainment shall delight you.

THE CELEBRATION

Guests will be served with a selection of traditional Lechian dishes. The menu presents Pierogi, expertly crafted dumplings with an assortment of savoury fillings; Gołąbki, meticulously prepared cabbage rolls filled with a harmonious blend of meat and rice; and Zurek, a sour rye soup known for its distinctive tangy flavor and hearty ingredients.

Once everyone has concluded their feast, the evening will continue with a fighting competition held at the Grodno tavern. Participants will have the opportunity to brawl with an opponent, with a reward of 50 minae awaiting the victor who chooses to compete for the prize.

After the festivities, there will be a double layer lemon cake that will be served to Mikołaj and all the guests followed by gift giving from the young heir himself.

During the ceremonials we made calls for our word to be heard, for we offered gifts upon the couple, but most of all our son. As such, we share our annunciation with you by means of this missive here. We forgo and bestow our secondary title upon Lord 𝕶𝖔𝖓𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖓𝖙𝖎𝖓 𝕷𝖊𝖔𝖓 𝖛𝖔𝖓 𝕬𝖚𝖌𝖚𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖓, who shall now be known as Viscount of Azor. Our fine son has excelled in his duties, presently serving as a squire to zwei (two) knightly orders and most notably as Grand Speaker of the Heartlands. His achievements should be marked and are a testament to his dedication and ascendancy as an Augusten Lord, we pray he continues to be virtuous. We adjure all to offer praise upon Konstantin’s name and recognise his place as our heir, addressing him by his gifted title of Viscount. I would first like to Thank both of our First Conseillers of the Conseil Municipale, Edith Hope II and William Temesch for their service as Conseiller. Both have done a great service to Chambery and its community bringing many fresh ideas greatly improuving our little city! From pushing renovations and constructions of new rows of Houses, adding more nature and trees into the city scape over to creating the gendarmerie to the creation of the Tower of Natural Sciences, Many great things have been achieved together. So Thank you both for your hard work !

But the 10 year term is now nearing its end and Chambery is opening up the spots again for new Conseiller to be chosen.
What does a Conseiller and the Conseil Municipale do? Very simple they serve the Community of Chambery and discuss or look for new ways to improuve it, find new things to add to the city, create fun and engaging events and of course try to find ways for more peoples to join our little community!

THE STANCE OF THE GOLDEN COUNTY OF VES

My family has stood with the Kings of Aaun for nearly a century now, beginning first during the great war against the Anathema, Heinrik Sarkozic, through the Stassie Rebels and their Veletzer allies, and now in the midst of the Temeschi plotting against the very Royal House of Alstion itself. It is this treachery that concerns the House of Varoche most now, truly it baffles myself quite greatly at how the House of Temesch believes their actions are at all acceptable for any self-respecting canonist within our great and united nation.

For my House and county, the most egregious act of their schemes was their murder of my family, my father and brother by none other than Renilde herself. I cannot in good conscious permit their further crimes, it is paramount that the MARNAN BRIGADE is permitted to continue it’s activity and investigation in this matter and in that I support their cause as the Count of Ves and as a true Heartlander, but my oaths of loyalty to the most high crown of the Alstions trump even such.

TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE LANGKETTE PASS, FRANKLANDS, SOLLAND, VALLAGNE, WHITESPIRE AND BEYOND,

Pretending to be deaf to certain slights and provocations is one thing that even a fool can afford. It is quite another thing not to react to those provocations at that moment when they turn into something called oppression and belittling. It is also a completely different matter if the authors and tellers of such slander and vile lies present themselves to you as your closest compatriots, friends who are there for you, neighbors who will give you the last piece of their bread, soldiers who will defend you when you need it. My family and I don't want to believe this, but after the events that happened in writing and verbally, we have no other choice.

Having found out the true identity of the person who started the series of events that led to the disunity within the Confederation among the inhabitants, as well as to the illegal confiscation of titles in addition to several other lies and frauds, I must point out that the Brigade of Marna acted in a way that the vast majority of people see as full-fledged. Everyone now knows that Bel Aurum will be caught sooner or later, unless of course they dies naturally, which we hope won't be the case.

The Barony of Rosius, with me, Louis IV Caspian de Rosius as the Baron of Rosius affirms its support for the Brigade of Marna in their goals in the near future. Their recent deeds were commited not out of spite, but out of necessity for the true justice. The unity of our people must continue on, but only after the Heartlands get rid of the intoxicated mice. One must come to reckon with the truths of the world, of the nation. There are beasts that seek to defile decency with beguile, intrigue, and by exploiting the common man. The investigation of the Bailiff Office has identified one such beast as Renilde, a queen of vitriol and deceit. Prolonged in life by the manipulation of others for her own caretaking, she decided to use her older years to inflict harm on our royal family and her sway has no doubt festered into those of the Petran ilk including her own family. We must too begin to question the complicity of Adalia.

The results of our investigation are clear and they share the same conclusion as the Brigade of Marna. Bel Aurum is none other than the pseudonym of the disgraced Queen Renilde in order to cause dissent. Whether she did this out of bitterness for the achievements of others that she could not achieve or not, the result is nonetheless the same: Renilde has committed foul crimes.

As stated in our Bel Aurum edict, the one identified as Bel Aurum shall be subject to death for their egregious crimes. While their true identity was unexpected, it was not a surprise and justice shall be carried out as is demanded by the people of Enswerp and the greater Heartlands. We will continue to seek out her capture and render death as she deserves. The mauling by a pack of hunting hounds.

The Bailiff Office would also like to voice its express support for the Brigade of Marna in their objective. Petran plots and their selfish scheming have been present for some time now. They undermine the Heartlands and bring harm to our royal family as long as these plots are given any opportunity to thrive. We stand in support of the relocation of war material. We further support the burning of Renilde’s estate. Never do you allow traitors access to the support they need to wage war. Never allow the enemy to have an advantage. Deprive the bear of its advantage in close-range combat and attack it with multiple men from all sides armed with spears. You do not poke the bear, you kill the bear before it kills you.

We are in a fight for the future of our nation and its people. We will prevail but we must not allow ourselves to falter. The sooner the nest of vipers have been killed, the less that their venom will harm others. This is our duty and this is our pledge. The Heartlands will see the justice it deserves.

Those who believe an eviction notice was issued with error may dispute it by sending a letter to the Bailiff.

They have levied dangerous accusations at royalty, nobility, and the commonfolk in a manner that undermines the sensical proclivities of the common Heartlander. Their intent to stir up within our governing process through weaponising baseless gossip is something that can not go ignored. The lands of Enswerp will not welcome conspiracies and plots that threaten to destabilise the Heartlands. Henceforth with this edict and within my power as bailiff invested to me by the Enswerp liege lord, Lord Chamberlain and Prince John Valentinus Alstion-Enswerp, to enforce justice within the lands of Enswerp, I issue a request for capture for the individual masquerading with the name Bel Aurum for the crimes of Defamation, Harassment, Lack of Honour, and Treason. 

Capture is to result in immediate execution of which they shall be mauled by a hunting hound for each accusation levied in malice. Their remains shall be hung from St. Daniel’s Crossing as a demonstration for all those who enter the province. Any property and possessions found to be related to the Gilded Quill, the outlet for their duplicity, shall be burnt posthaste. Any affiliates found complicit in the affairs of the Gilded Quill shall be judged based on the severity of their involvement.

Let it be known that those who attempt to intercede in defence of the wrongdoer shall be treated as a conspirator and judged accordingly.

The sophistication and manner in which the Gilded Quill’s author wrote suggested as such. However, recent information from the oafish and loutish Adrian Tobias has only confirmed my suspicions. I had not even put the authorship down to your sister, Helene-Olympe, until you implied it as such. Nary a decent man would want to step foot on the doormat of trickster-royals, not to mention organising thirty dirty rats meticulously on a doormat. You beguilers have reaped what you have sown, but I would only wish that I were the one to have truly done it so that I may inconvenience those who have inconvenienced my apostolic bloodline. However, it seems that the Vipers of Valfleur have attracted scoundrels worse than themselves who wish to disadvantage not only myself and those of Enswerp, but those who reside in your cobwebbed home.

I will not accept your barbaric sense of false justice. It is clear by your included portrait that you wish to, as they say in the sultry southern states, mog me. What you do not understand is that my physique is one that I have spent many decades maintaining. There is no other who compares to my imposing stature. My height is gargantuan, and the tallow that is displayed to the world obscures the mountainous muscles embedded within my figure. Further, my folds are washed daily of any sweat and laced with sandalwood oils to ensure that I smell fantastic as I perform the strenuous activities that make me so great. As we speak, your royal grandmother is laying salves on my ivy-ridden biceps and she is complimenting my vigour after a lengthy hunt in which I lifted a fleeing deer with my bare hands. I shall include a smaller portrait of the encounter at the end of my missive. You wish that you were me, however you are beholden to your uncouth and smelly nature. The Bailiff of Enswerp has served as an essential member of the community of the Franklands. Through his stewardship & martial ability, he has safeguarded the Hamlet & St. Daniel’s Crossing ever since his establishment. His retirement is past due, and it is time to enlist a new Bailiff for the coming age. This position holds many merits, but in the same token it holds many responsibilities. Someone possessing the skills of a tact diplomat whilst also knowing the art of the blade is a best-fit for this role. 

As the highest authority under that of the Count, the Bailiff serves as a foundational role within the County of Enswerp. His primary focus is to uphold the laws within the Hamlet and across portions of the Franklands. He is chosen by the Count of Enswerp and is determined by merit of skill. In turn, he is expected to act as a final authority in the absence of the Count, whilst also benefiting from the fruits of his own labor. 

Therefore, let it be known the benefits & responsibilities of the Bailiff of Enswerp:

Enforcing the Laws of Enswerp: He is responsible for upholding the laws within the Franklands and the Hamlet. If he is a witness to a crime, then it is his responsibility to disperse judgment and punishment immediately in response. As well, he may perform a trial for a criminal if the circumstances require it.

Governance of the Hamlet: As a local official, he is expected to serve as an administrator for the Hamlet. He will serve eviction notices for those who have failed their taxes, or propose new laws based on the requirements provided by the citizenry. 

Employment of Labor: It is the responsibility of the Bailiff to seek employment opportunities for the residents of the Hamlet. This may be accommodated through work provided by the Count, through the Hamlet, or through nearby fiefdoms. In addition, the Bailiff may employ assistants through the Bonnie Brigade in administering his official duties. 

Announcement of Decrees: Edicts and decrees are to be announced by the Bailiff for the public’s benefit. These decrees may include those of nearby fiefdoms or royal decrees. However, the primary focus is on those that directly relate to the Hamlet of Enswerp. 

The Bailiff’s Salary & Residence: The Bailiff is to receive a 50 mina salary, dispensed once a year. In addition, he is to receive free housing within the Hamlet, either through one of the available cottages or the tower of Fort Alba.  

The Bailiff’s Tenure: The Bailiff will serve for a four-year tenure, and at its conclusion his employment will be determined by the Count based on merit. If he has served the Hamlet well, then his terms of employment may continue until the next round of evaluations. His evaluation will be determined on the prosperity of the Hamlet, its people, and its growth.

When the House of Jazlowiecki established themselves in Aevos, they oversaw the construction of Nowa Warsovia, a County adjacent to Merryweather's Principality. This expansion took place during the reign of Count Waclaw Jazlowiecki, marking a period of new beginnings. In the year 1966, Count Waclaw abdicated in favour of his son, Krzysztof Pawel Jazlowiecki.

Now, perched atop the Langkette mountains, the newly established keep of Podkamień stands strong, looking over the quiet Franklands. In 1983, a significant event took place in the life of Jan II. Jazlowiecki, the Baron of Krakovia. His father, Count Krzysztof, ultimately decided to abdicate his position, effectively passing the torch to Jan II as the relocation had begun.

THE INAUGURATION 

All citizens and allies of the Heartlander Confederation are invited to the inauguration of the newly established Warsovian keep, Podkamień. Count Jan and his wife, the Countess-consort Catherine, open their noble estate to visitors, rightfully hosting the gathering and celebrations. The gathering will start with a speech from the Count of Warsovia, giving a brief welcome and his gratitude to the guests. Following the discussion, there will be a sumptuous feast, allowing guests to enjoy Lechian-styled dishes.

We the Chamberian people, in order to secure a sanctuary where the Celestial Values and the pursuit of knowledge might be upheld, do enter into an agreement with the Heartlander Confederation  in order to continue the Free City where these might safely be sought. As Free City we do not mean to be a separate member from the rest of the realm and reaffirm that we always have been and always will be an integral and active member of the Realm. 

The Hearlander Confederation and the Free City de Chambery do therefore affirm this charter to serve as a vassalage contract.  

I.) The town of Chambery-sur-Petra, also to be known as the Free City de Chambery, shall be given the status of vassalage as a free city within the Heartlandic confederation to serve as both a port of trade and a sanctuary of free enterprise.
 

II.) Furthermore, the Free City de Chambery shall be recognized as a separate polity and entity from the archducal capital and the various seats of the nobility. It shall therefore be granted full political autonomy and the ability to manage its own internal affairs within the Commonwealth. The selection of its leaders shall not be infringed upon in any way.

III.) Founded on the principles of liberty, free enterprise, and the defense of the rights of the individual, the hereditary peerage and other aristocracy of the Commonwealth shall hold no sway over the free riverland peoples of Chambery-sur-Petra, apart from the nation’s sovereign and their Councilors & Officers acting in their name. 

IV.) Those independent businesses and guilds which reside within the Free Port of Chambery shall be allowed to freely host their headquarters within its municipal borders, engage in international dealings, issue publications, and train personnel without hindrance or persecution.

V.) The Free Port of Chambery shall retain the sole power to tax, or exempt from tax, those that reside within its municipal boundaries.

VI.) In return, Chambery-sur-Petra will provide a stream of taxation revenue to the Commonwealth of a reasonable amount to be agreed between both the government of the Free Port and the government of the Commonwealth.

VII.) Although a majority Canonist settlement, the private practice of religious and cultural traditions held by minorities who reside within the Free Port of Chambery shall be permitted within its municipal borders.

VIII.) Chambery-sur-Petra shall retain the ability to appoint a sheriff or a constabulary to arbitrate disputes and keep the peace within its borders, should such become a necessity in the future.

Once arriving at the lands of Ves, the couple shall depart upon a short journey on a rowboat. The success of their journey shall show how their life as a couple will go together, though if said boat sinks or flips doesn’t necessarily mean their marriage might not be a success.

Following this short journey a great and traditional Illatian feast shall begin within the palace of Canossa on the cliffs of the Lanacletti mountain range. There will be much Roach Red for the entire Heartlands to imbibe upon, and plenty of pasta, including a special dish of Timpano for all to engorge themselves with.
