Tuvya Carrion - The eldest son of the Exalted Prophet, Siegmund Carrion. Bastard prince of Raev. Dark hair, blue eyes. Jovial, peace-loving, and good tempered.

High Pontiff Regulus I - The Heartlander High Pontiff who finds himself chafing under Raevir dominion. White hair, blue eyes. He quietly resents the dramatic changes to both the nobility and the faith introduced by Siegmund.

Vibius “Hanseticus” de Sola - A close friend and advisor of the Carrion brothers. Auburn hair, blue eyes. His iron, fiery temperament contrasts the peace-loving nature of Tuvya.

Archbishop Peter Pavel - The Archbishop of Vekaro. Dark hair, green eyes. He consents to aid Franz despite some misgivings. 

Sophia Horen - A rebel from the disgraced House of Horen. She wishes to oust the Carrions and claim the throne for herself. Blonde hair, blue eyes. Cold, iron-willed, yet haunted by what she’s forced to do.

The Spirits of Exalted Godfrey and Exalted Siegmund - The heavenly forms of the two Prophets. Not seen on stage.

Soldiers - Martial servants to the various lords and ladies in play. Their allegiance is indicated by their colors.

Hello to those reading! I decided to make a post to try and speed up some recruitment for characters in House Sirsk. The family is based in Haense with a Waldenian/Reinmarian culture to them. Meaning they have a slight german feel to them. We have a strong loyalty to Haense and most members of the house join the HRA as a result. We have a strong focus on creating top quality roleplay, aswell as a focus on Alchemy. There are few guidelines we force those in our family to follow except for staying loyal to the house, Haense, and any allies unless given a reason to do otherwise. Hello!

This post is an invitation to join our established commoner family based primarily in Haense for map 8.0. The house as of this posting is at around 8 active members and are looking to expand those numbers into next map to become the largest commoner family of Haense. 

About the House – The house was established due to the severe lack of commoner RP in Haense and our house looks to establish a community not locked behind nobility barriers where new players and experienced players can create a community of RP together. We strongly believe that a person’s relevance on the server isn’t dictated by Haense peerage status but by the actions and quality of the individual in the community and we strive to become known in the Haense community through our actions. This house is primarily a Highlander house as it is located in Haense. 

A little about myself – I have spent about 5 months RPing so far on LOTC however I have been playing the game for quite some time and have lots of knowledge gathered over time. Before my time here I was a staff member for a large portion of time on various faction servers. I have extensive experience leading groups of around 30+ individuals. I was one of the primary builders in building the next city Karosgrad for Haense 8.0 and have been apart of the military in RP for Haense for all my time on the server.

Evening Gang! I’m looking to grab a few people for a project I’ve been working on. The general premise is that the culture is a heavy mix between Ancient Egypt, Tevinter(Dragon Age), with a healthy mix of Jewish influence. I’ve got quite a bit of the lore done and cooked up, and with the rate I’m going everything should be completed by the start of next map.

I’m looking to grab a few people who would be interested in this sort of culture. I’ve got a few people interested at the mo’ but I’d like to nab a few more so that other peoples ideas can influence this idea. The average Palmer is typically relatively short, with straight black hair or sometimes dark brown hair-- there are some instances of Palmers who have curly orange hair, though they are less common. Palmers typically have light blue eyes, alongside pale white skin. Palmers are crosses between Highlanders and Heartlanders.

A new House is being created and you could be a member!

Hey everyone!

The post you are now currently trudging through is an announcement that a Highlander House is in the works. There will be a recruitment form at the very bottom of this post. The plan is that this House will have life breathed into it until its “release” at the beginning of Almaris. Membership of the House will be rather exclusive. To ensure that the House retains its quality, we will be seeking individuals who display dedication and experience. To make it clear, you do not need to be the best at English, roleplaying, or even conflict such as CRP and PVP to get in. I suggest that everyone should give it a fair go. The vision for the House is that it will be prestigious and will hopefully take a sizeable role in Almaris. To reiterate, the House will be of Highlander culture so it will most likely not have a lot to do with the other races, bar from levy which do not have to be Human.

Creative Corner

I’ve started making Minecraft videos with the belief that Minecraft RP is a criminally underrated niche. We have 9+ years of lore, art, and builds on this server alone. This community is filled with incredible creatives who pour their vision into characters and the world around them. I want to create a space to encourage that creativity.

This idea originally came from the fact that I was frustrated in finding the various people I need to talk with to make my videos. If my goal is to document the cool stuff happening through roleplay, then half my job is tracking down the people responsible for it. I wanted to be in a space where everyone was there already. What if there was a Discord filled with our artists, lore writers, builders, musicians, and keepers of IRP history? 

Unless I’m horribly mistaken, I don’t think there is a space right now that exists like that. I’m hoping this Discord can be a place where if you write lore, you can get quick collaboration; if you draw an art piece, you’re with other artists who can provide feedback and guidance. A place where friends and creatives who love roleplay can come together to do more of the stuff they find cool. It sounds idealistic, whatever, call me a dreamer.

I’m looking for someone that wants to create another persona or someone who can help with some rp.

A brief summary of the character:

Merrik Haltuft is a 16 year old human boy (four years older than my character, so he will continue to age). His father’s name is Stanbury Haltuft, and his mother’s is up to the player. More family relations will be revealed in pms as well as his backstory. However, after set events, the player can continue to create the backstory for their own vision of him. 
Three traits are a necessity in playing his character: he is a thief, a sweet talker/charmer, (the third will be revealed in pms). However, through rp, these can be refined or taught out of the character. The beginning of rp will include the player using Merrik for (at least) light villainy, though, again, the character can be reformed through rp. 

A lot of the character is already created, but there is still a lot of him that the player has room to add to and mold to their liking.

FOREWORD

Even though they have been promised protection by the Holy Orenian Empire, the elves of Aldemar recognize the need to back their overlords in times of war as well as defend their own lands should a raid catch them by surprise. Historically, elven states such as the Dominion of Malin and Gladewynn had possessed large standing armies to expand their respective realms and fend off the numerous, large bandit raids that plagued Atlas. With changing times, however, has come an era of relative peace- one that is devoid of bandit companies, large-scale warfare, and civil strife. Although the days of massive, regimental guard forces and a cities littered with defenses are in their twilight, the issues of crime, banditry, and occasional skirmishing may still arise, thus necessitating a modern and well-equipped force suited for combating the threats of this new era.

The Sons of Malin is governed by a triumvirate of commanders, with the Okarir’sil having the final say in all decisions made. The current triumvirs are:

THE HISTORY OF THE SONS OF MALIN

“To forget our history is to lose who we are.”

- Valandos Elverhilin

The Sons of Malin began as a paramilitary and political organization within the Holy Orenian Empire during the height of the Irrinite War. Elven auxiliaries led by Valandos Elverhilin, disgusted with the out-of-touch Irrinite seeds, the druidic influence within mali’ame society, and their slaying of Orenian ambassadors, decided to join the Orenian cause against the Forest Realm. They had seen the utter destruction that inter-elven rivalries had caused, and sought to bring an end to the centuries of strife and bloodshed by uniting elvenkind under the banner of Malin. By the time they had amassed into a sizable host, however, the political situation in Oren had turned for the worse. Treacherously abandoned by its allies, with its back against the wall, the Empire and its cause were both seemingly lost.

Even among the many betrayals against the Empire, it was the Sons of Malin that stayed true to their word. Through both loss and victory, they continued to rally under the Orenian banner and fight for the Imperial cause. While the Sohaer and his Irrinorian allies schemed behind closed doors, cowardly avoiding battle time and time again, Valandos and his soldiers risked their lives on the fields of battle, thereby gaining valuable experience that would serve them well in the times to come.

With the cessation of the Irrinite War, and the Rubern War grinding to a halt, the Sons of Malin found themselves at relative peace for the first time in years. Seeking a way to spread their ideals of elven unity and break down the subracial divisions that plagued elvedom, the Sons of Malin came across Lathadlen, a mali’ who shared their dreams. Eager work alongside such a highly regarded group, Lathadlen offered them a leading place in his newfound realm as stalwart defenders and loyal bannermen. Valandos accepted, and the Sons of Malin became the first sworn soldiers of the Pale of Aldemar. Today, the name ‘Sons of Malin’ serves as a reminder that unwavering loyalty and courage, even in the face of seeming hopelessness, never goes unrewarded. It also signifies the pan-elvenism that is core to Aldemarian society, for only in reverence of the true king may elvenkind find unity.

THE MILITIA OF ALDEMAR

“A trained militia, composed of the general populace, is the greatest defense any nation could have.”

- Galar Ithelanen

With the rise of the professional standing army, warfare was revolutionized in a way that rendered feudal levies and tribal bands archaic and obsolete. For nations most accustomed to war, the standing army enabled them to mobilize quickly, maintain discipline, and organize massive, sometimes continental, campaigns. However, maintaining such a force requires vast amounts of money, material, and manpower, and as such must be heavily supported by the government and people it defends. As the Pale of Aldemar is but a cog in the greater Imperial war machine, its leaders have found no need for a large army, and instead look to the people to take an active part in defending the nation.

To prevent vigilantism and abuse, heavy regulations and restrictions are placed upon the militia and its members. The basic statutes of the militia are as follows:

I. All able-bodied residents of the Pale of Aldemar age thirty and over are immediately conscripted into the militia. Requests for exemption from militia service must be taken up with the Okarir’sil, and are taken into consideration on a case-by-case basis.

II. All members of the militia of Aldemar are under the direct command of the Okarir’sil and his/her subordinate officers in all situations regarding defense or upholding the law. Should no commanding officers be present, then the highest-ranking government official present may issue orders.

III. All members of the militia are required to provide their own weapons and armor. Aside from certain emergency situations, they will not be given their own gear.

IV. Should a member of the militia witness an act of crime take place that does not put themselves or anyone else in immediate danger, they are to report it to the nearest member of the Gladewynn Brigade or government official.

V. Should a member of the militia see a person(s) under attack, they are to apprehend and detain the assailant(s) under a member of the Gladewynn Brigade or government official arrives.

VI. In the event of an attack on the Pale by either bandits or a foreign army, all militia members are called to the defense of the city. 

VII. As representatives of the Pale of Aldemar, all militia members are expected to act in a conduct that upholds the dignity and pride of both the Pale and themselves.

Should any of these rules be broken, the offender(s) may incur heavy fines, jail time, beatings, or even banishment.

THE GLADEWYNN BRIGADE

“Keeping a small, elite force is a wise policy that would benefit both Aldemar and Oren.”

Even as the people of Aldemar form the backbone of the military, the need for specialized, elite soldiers persists. Although militia units are well-suited for city defense and minor peacekeeping, they are extremely limited offensively and are not designed to partake in raids, battles, or support operations. In order to assist their Orenian comrades effectively, the Sons of Malin utilize a professional force of soldiers trained in all types of combat. This contingent will join allied forces in battle, aid their defense in enemy raids, conduct independent raids of enemy settlements, and supplement militia forces should the Pale come under attack.

In addition to their extensive military operations, those in the Gladewynn Brigade are also the primary enforcers of the laws of Aldemar. They are responsible for aiding militia forces in apprehending criminals, transporting criminals to prison, and upholding the laws of the Pale. The defense of the people of Aldemar from threats both foreign and domestic requires constant vigilance and the ability to counter new threats- two qualities that the Gladewynn Brigade prides itself upon. 

Because of the seriousness of the operations that the Gladewynn Brigade undertakes, and the level of skill and resilience that they require, selection is limited to the elite of Aldemar. The requirements to join are as follows: 

I. Must be at least thirty years of age and in extremely good condition. Must also be able to swim, climb, and horse ride skillfully.

II. Must be proficient in the use of both a bow and a sword. Those who wish to join will be evaluated and scrutinized heavily.

III. Must be eager and willing to lay life and limb down in the defense of both Aldemar and Oren. Anything less than unwavering loyalty will not be tolerated.

IV. Must have knowledge of the Orenian and Aldemarian legal codes, wilderness survival, small unit tactics, and urban combat.

The two in question, Kleo and Valliline Vethrai have waited for this ceremonious evening for many years. Under the light and guiding hand of Malin, the only true King of Mali, they will be blessed and bonded in the following Elven week. Following after will be festivities funded by the Vethrai family as listed in this parchment:

The tavern will be distributing exclusive wine bottles to thank the attendance of both citizens and guests to the wedding of the two Vethrai, locally made and brewed within the lands of the Pale of Tor Eldar. For our blessings to your fruitful future, the wedded couple and the entirety of Tor Eldar would appreciate gifts of kindness unto the couple in return. 

The Laraethryn Estate, holding the wedding and reception, will be available to all, excepting the enemies of Tor Eldar. Activities will include a dress competition with a prize of 500 mina, judged by the bride. A fencing competition will also be held, with a prize of 500 mina, overseen by the groom.

The ceremony will be small, only open to those formally invited. The festivities will be open to all. As per Tor Eldar tradition, only the bride and groom shall wear clothes of mainly red and silver. There will be a security check, so avoid bringing weaponry.

It was midnoon and the sun was high-up in the sky, its brilliant radiance apparent to all. A lone figure with tan skin and red tattoos adorning his hands and face stepped along the path which led from Helena to the other many cities of the Empire. He wheeled along a small cart of fine yarn he had been carrying for the better part of an hour and a half now. He came to a stop before a small congregation on the way from Helena to Haense, and he appeared quite mystified by the encounter. The red-tattooed man watched now as a clown in make-up and fine attire stood before a tall and lumbering Wood Elf making conversation now in an attempt to solicit something from him. What it was, the red man could not fathom; but nonetheless he bore witness to this not-quite-so-mundane behavior. Another silver-haired elf greeted him and in quiet they shared introductions. “I am Lumithil,” the taller one said to him, his posture straight and his regal features regarding the Red Man’s with a vague semblance of curiosity. “And you Irrinite?” 

“I am Avas,” the Red Man introduced himself. “Of Vanethelan. I am no Irrinite, I am of the Alder Lineage.” Lumithil’s eyes betrayed no small amount of surprise, though he hid it well. “I assumed it because of your complexion,” he admitted candidly. “Either way, as you see… The two are held up in conversation. Perhaps I might hurry this along.” So from the whispers between both Elves shared in secret the wizened Lumithil uttered simply to the passerby Wood Elf, “You ought to kiss his ring.” The Wood Elf traveler looked bewildered and confused, but nonetheless complied and bent to smooch the Clown Pontiff’s ring. This proved to be a bit of a bend because of the small human clown’s immensely short stature that was almost dwarf-like in comparison to that of the Elder race. “Good!” squealed the little man, who posed as a High Pontiff of the faith. “Delightful! We shall go now.” And so he and his companion quickly departed and the crowd did as well. What it was that went on there made no sense to the Vanethelan shepherd, but nonetheless he continued on his wayward journey. 

As the sun began to fall low in the sky and stars blanketed the night sky, Avas reached a bizarre old rebel keep near the roads. He had heard recently it was again under Imperial occupation and thought to himself that it might be a way to garner some quick minas for his wares. After all, what crop up settlement doesn’t need some wool or yarn for essential things like blankets, banners, and all manners of string for their bows, crossbows, fishing rods, and other knick-knacks.

The Red Man, or Avas, encounters the Hanseti-Ruskan soldiers. He anticipates them as bandits and regards them with unease.

Avas found nothing but an empty city behind a looming metal gate. Deathly silence befell Rubern, and he knew he would find nothing there, or rather nobody. The mid-sized Elf had begun to turn now as some voices echoed out in the dark and spooked him in the chilly night-time air. “Oi, what are you doing here?” At first as the horsemen’s sight befell him, Avas feared the worst. He had been discovered by bandits, or worse, brigands left over from the war against the Alliance of Independent States. Then he noticed their garb. Yes, he thought to himself, maybe they’re friendly. No need to run and get cut down for his haste by fellow Imperials if he proved to be wrong about their allegiances. “Trying to sell my wool,” Avas answered politely. He knew any bit of brusqueness would not curry favor even with fellow Imperials. Talking to humans in his experience was a double-edged sword. “You’re standin’ in rebel territory, you know.” Another soldier observed with irritation. His compatriot who addressed Avas appeared less annoyed however, “We’re gonna search your goods.” 

Avas nodded and stepped aside to allow the leader to rummage through his cart and prove he wasn’t carrying any illegal substances, or worse any kinds of weapons he might sell to the rebels. Appearing satisfied, the soldier leader jumped up and sat astride his horse once again. He held the reins in his hand and looked towards the Alder Elf expectantly. Avas asked,  “I am trying to get to Haense, if you guys are going that way I might tag along?”  The soldier nodded, “You’re free to come with us.” And so the party set out for the better part of two hours travel on the road from Rubern to Haense. Once he arrived, Avas offered each of the three men twenty minas for their efforts. All in all, that was sixty he thought to himself. Sixty out of one-hundred-and-forty would be eighty minas left in his purse. Quietly he worried to himself that he had spent too much, but he did not let such a crafty and ingenuine thought plague him much longer. In his mind, he had narrowly avoided disaster.

“Ahernan,” he said to them. “I’m so glad you were fellow Imperials and not some other rabble. Thanks for all the help.” The men did not smile or nod, but they weren’t rude either. They echoed out together one after one, “One Empire.” Avas entered the city and sold his wares now. He was disappointed with the frugal nature of the Carrington Co. Sales Associate he met. Less than a mina per ball of yarn annoyed him but he had nowhere better to sell. Still, leaving the city with two-hundred and forty whereas he entered with eighty was still not bad. And so the Herdsman returned to the road, his chore done. He had seen a Fleeper crowned and kissed while bathing in the sunlight, and potentially almost lost his life to an accident. All in all, just another rough day for the Elf as he made his return to the Pale. Yet, he could not evade that smile that crept to his lips during his journey home. Just as he thought he’d seen it all, he’d really outdone himself.

I had a lot of fun tonight while doing my Herdsman rp and would like to thank KingJohnFleeper, Milenkhov, EddyWilson, GGT, Grnappa, and many others for the interesting role-play. This is my first time in awhile playing a character like this and I had lots of fun. I’ll likely be posting more as I try to focus on my writing some more and describe these mini-adventures in vivid detail. 👍

Preamble: Malin’s Sentinels, or more colloquially the Pale Sentinels, were born out of the former auxiliary groups the Sons of Malin and the Avchirran ito Gladewynn. Long since renouncing their former style of cult governance, these two forces have long since coalesced to form one military -- the Sentinels, who like their hallowed forebears in Old Malinor safeguard Elven halls from harm.

Section I: Basic Training & Introduction

The Pale Sentinels, a force to be reckoned with -- one that has outmatched their kin and other mali-states across Arcas. In order to become one with the Pale Sentinels, rigorous training is put in place to achieve this goal -- to turn a fresh recruit with no combative, or minimal combative experience into a mighty warrior of Tor Eldar. At the beginning of the basic training, everyone is introduced to one of the Berun’ihnsil, a senior sentinel and a part of the officer corps of the Pale. 

The basic training begins with classes on rank structure, the ripe history of Tor Eldar and the culture and religion of the mighty Pale. After introductions are set, the lessons will continue on for seven elven days (7 days irl). In between the basic training, an exam will be put in place to test all people -- this is a written test and will be about the knowledge, rank structure, and test how much you know about your officers and who they are: for example, who is the Annilir? The answer would be: Lúmithil Laureh’onn.

Furthermore, the basic training also consists of numerous tough, vigorous physical exams and activities that will require all Berun’llir to partake in. This will be: combat training, archery, horse riding, expeditions and training missions. Eventually, one of the Berun’ihnsil will act as the examiner who will -- at the end of the basic training -- score each and every Berun’llir and see if they can pass out or require to go through another week of basic training. 

At the end of basic training, the Berun’llir who pass-out will be required to take an Oath and will then be moved up to the: ‘Berun’diraar’ (Bronze Sentinel) rank.

Section II: Oath of Service

I, _________, do solemnly swear by the might of Malin and the venerable Warden of the Pale, that I will support the mantle of Mali and the Legacy of Malin against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear faith and allegiance to the same; that I will never falter in my duties and obligations as a Sentinel of Tor Eldar; that I will give my life in exchange for this unity and serenity; and that I will obey the orders of the Warden of the Pale and the Berun’ihnsil appointed to me in order to upbring justice in the name of Malin. I will continue to support Tor Eldar and the Empire as long as service is demanded of me and pledge my life to the cause of brotherhood, fraternity, and peace.

Section III: Customs and Courtesies

Tor Eldar and the Sentinels of the Pale require a set amount of customs and common courtesy in order to invoke respect to the mali and others that work hard under the Warden of the Pale. In order for efficiency and graceful servitude -- with the utmost maturity and strict professionalism, numerous courtesies and customs are to be followed on duty as one that is a Sentinel, and outside of their duties in order to develop their character and show off the organization of the Sentinels. This is split between: the uniform address and the forms of address.

Forms of Address:

The ranks of the Pale Sentinels are set in place to dictate the hierarchy and order of our military.

 All sentinels are to address each other with the appropriate titles, and all require to show the same respect.

It is considered an extreme offence to show signs of disrespect, insults or backtalk towards an officer or an inferior ranked sentinel.

All individuals must adhere to the rank structure below.

“Karin’ayla, Berun’ihnsil Alayris” is the appropriate way to address an officer when talking to one.

“Karin’ayla, Alayris” is not appropriate, you must make sure to address an officer by their rank to show respect and represent their authority. 

Uniform Address:

Uniforms will be provided for each rank. Each rank will be signified differently through the variation. This will not be explained in detail, upon joining the Sentinels and ranking up -- it will become more clear. A set guideline on uniform is made within our discord.

Section IV: Rank Structure

Below will entail the structure and ranks of the Pale Sentinels.

Command:

• Berun’laurir [Bronze Lord] - Berun’laurir is the operational commander of the Sentinels, put in place by the Warden to deal with military duties and maintain the city’s defenses. The effective marshal of Aldemar. The Berun’laurir will usually publish information on the military, write the legislations and set up a council to conduct leadership duties in the Pale Sentinels. The Berun’laurir is seated in the Council of Tor Eldar and is able to voice his ideas to the Warden of the Pale in order to improve the military. This role is able to override commands from any other Berun’ihnsil and is toughest to have due to all the management required on top of leading in battles. 

Officer Core:

• Berun’ihnsil [Bronze Spear] - A senior officer responsible for overseeing the Berun’sil and Sentinels. They act as the council of commanders under the Berun’laurir, running training, doing exams, leading men in battles. Berun’ihnsil have full authority over the other sentinels and have the highest authority -- though below the Berun’laurir. Some of the Berun’inhsil work as advisors to the Bronze Lord, officer input and plans for the future. 

Rank & File:

• Berun’sil [Bronze Sword] - A senior Sentinel who is able to act as an interim officer when the Berun’ihnsil is absent. Berun'sil works as a second-in-command to an officer, and is one that aspires to join the officer corps in the future. Usually, the Berun’sil will help in training and offer small leadership advice to other sentinels below them.
• Berun’diraar [Bronze Sentinel] - The backbone of the military and its principal auxiliary members. Responsible for gate duty, enforcing taxes, and protecting all citizens from harm. The Berun’diraar are fully trained sentinels of the Pale, having gone through rigorous exams and expeditions in order to become a Bronze Sentinel. They are fully oathed in and have sworn loyalty to the Warden of the Pale and servitude to Tor Eldar. 
• Berun’llir [Bronze Friend] - The Berun’llir consists of the new recruits and levies into the Tor Eldar sentinels. The few recruits who take their path into military life, torn apart, trained to the highest in order to become full-fledged Berun’diraar in the future after completing the basic training. Unlike their oathed-in comrades, they do not have the same powers: unable to do gate-duty, make arrests (unless if an emergency) and so on.

Special Forces:

• Gladewynn Brigade [Immortals] - The greatest soldiers and guards and scholars from across the land can be recruited into the Immortals of the Amber Table, a group of Elvish Knights who have labored for years to defend tyrants, princes, and councilors of the ailing Dominion and Gladewynni regimes. Eventually, they took up their banner again under the scion of the Ithelanen Legacy - the Warden Lathadlen of the Pale - and were sworn into active duty. They now protect the Warden, Stewards, and Lords of the Pale at the behest of the Warden.
• Ir’waleh [Physician] - The ability to heal goes far in the military in terms of specialization. The Ir’waleh is a physician responsible for the well-being of all the men underneath the command of the Officer Core and the Sentinel Corps. 
• Ailerir [Mages] - The Ailerir consists of master mages that have been recruited from all across the realm. Their job is to defend the Pale of Aldemar as both soldiers and against otherworldly threats. It is their job to ensure that any practitioners of the forbidden magics are punished accordingly. They ensure that the Pale Sentinels are well informed on magic related threats and act as magical advisors to the Officer Core.
