These words are written in response to the latest missive from Sohaer Veralya Wyn’asul:

For over a thousand years, those who are blessed by the Golden Pools and follow the teachings of Larihei have congregated in elCihi’thilln, under elHeial’thilln, in the Motherland: Haelun’or.

elHaelun’or has always been the name given to the lands where those who follow elMaehr’sae Hiylun’ehya reside, but elCihi’thilln’s Sohaer now rejects that title.

This then begs the question: What is Taliyu’lin?

Veralya Wyn’asul is not an elected Sohaer, and she is no longer Sohaer of Haelun’or. elCihi’thilln has become a dollhouse in which Mali give themselves illegitimate titles and play pretend at following the teachings of Larihei. We the citizens follow along in the game. We corrupt the meaning of “Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya” each time the words leave our mouths. 

If Taliyu’lin is not the Motherland of the High Elves, then she is naught but another mundane city under the Empire, one that elSillumiran and elMali’thill do not owe loyalty to.

Any true mali’thill, who is loyal to the way of Larihei, knows that debate and discussion and pride for our homeland should not be shunned nor censored. Elesia Elervathar’s words embodied the nature of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya, she set an example for the hope and joy every ‘aheral should hold in their chest when they speak of their heritage.

How far have we fallen, that our Heial’thilln would reprimand her for such, that our Sohaer would enforce the editing of Elesia’s sentiment to better suit the valah palate?

True hope lies in sentiment that takes action, in words given meaning. By speaking of a better future with flowery language that suffocates itself trying to not utter the name “Haelun’or”, we fall into complacency. Our words have become empty; the flickering flame of the mali’thill will die.

You forget that the right to call, or not call, the city you govern the Motherland is not yours by default. It is a right that is earned by grace of the people, and by adherence to elMaehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. 

But under your regime, the teachings of Larihei have become as hollow as the cavern the Silver City hides itself in.

In rejecting elHaelun’or, you disgrace the memory of Larihei. You have made yourself Sohaer of nothing.

Know that I do not write these words to you out of malice, nor do I write them in haste. You should know that these actions are my own, and should not be attributed to the influence of my Mentor. For despite how this missive may be interpreted by you and the rest of elHeial’thilln, my perspective is one shared by every rational and loyal citizen of Haelun’or.

I weep for you, seeing that you have fallen so far from elNarn ito Thill.

I call you now to attest for your purity- not before elPariran’tir, but before all of elMali’thill.

If the mali’thill of Haelun’or choose to abandon the way of Larihei with you, and if they too reject the concept that they are of the Motherland, then they may rot with you and your regime.

With the dawn and kindling of our peoples, Larihei to us bequeathed our charge. Stewardship of lore and song, that long night may be forestalled and fairness availed. Fondness there lay in the hearts of all of things that were and things that again might be, but in this longing we give overmuch to needs of our own - and not unlike the mali'ata, who so conceited in their wants are scarce to bethink themselves of that which Larihei unto them entrusted, and forget to give back the wholeness that they so idly took.

Customs deep enrooted and whims alike may be forlorn that a Will of Silver endures, and the path continues unhindered.

Thusly I defend not Veralya Wynasul, but myself.
For though her hand guided the quill, the will and thoughts of it are mine. No reproach I shall suffer of my Sohaer for deeds faithfully rendered.

It is I, Maheral Arasdir Miravaris, Steward of Her Will Most Blessed, that you have quarrel with, Atlyn An'asul.

And yet I shall not diminish your call. I shall myself stand before the Pariran'tir as any other and to their judgement heed.
And so shall you, for words and deeds of such treachery are not to be so lightly given.
For the question of my erring in ensuring maehr'sae hiylun'ehya is not the only that needs answering, but also whether your loyalty has been forsaken and whether wisdom yielded unto malice.

For availing Antelian in his attempt on my life I have granted you forgiveness, though you flew from trial. Though you were bid you cease your availing him in his practice of dark arts you were reluctant. And now, your mind so wholly corrupted by fel and dark, you devise against your own kindred designs of evil.

I shall welcome judgement of the wise gladly. Shall you?

To the errands and dealings of upstart scribes Taliyu'lin is not privy, and their quills are unheeded by its bidding or counsel. The Silver City of Taliyu’lin does not endorse, nor support, the use of the elven Haelun’or in reference to its halls.

Greetings, the peoples of Azuras stretching from the South West to the North East. While many know me, many more do not. I am Theveus Sythaerin of Taliyu’lin and I am in search of knowledge I would not find in the depths of a library. As most peoples of Azuras know Haelun’or was stricken down and the slaughter of many innocents followed because of 1 man, who harbored darkspawn beneath the noses of those who lived in Haelun’or. 

Of the following years, I came to the rather reasonable conclusion this mustn't happen again, Darkspawn should never be welcome again past the gates of Haelun’or, any successor of the Mali’aheral people, or through the gates of any descendants for the good of the people as a whole. 

Thus I bring you to the reason for this missive, for I require knowledge of darkspawn, long has it been since I have been ignorant of the weaknesses, strengths, and how they operate. I require to know how they act and what it is that makes them them. 

I urge anyone with knowledge, beyond that of just ‘Undead are hurt by gold’ to send me a letter. Get in contact with me. Travel is of no issue, I can meet anywhere whether it be Caurost or Norland and anything in between, wherever suits you no matter how public or private. Our Haelun'or has never been defined by the mere endurance of its marbled walls, or the pristine spirits that dwell within them. For centuries, our ancestors have stood as a quiet monument to a brilliance that felt, temporarily, out of reach. A home recognizable by sight, yet awaiting the return of its true, resonant heartbeat.

I had been driven, in the past, by the fierce and unyielding devotion inherent to the blood of my lineage, Dimaethor and Iaria Elervathar. I sought to dictate through the strictures of law. I believed that the structural fractures of our state might be mended by absolute decree, to force our future into alignment. Yet, there is no sterner teacher than our own failure.

And so, true preservation must be cultivated from a foundation of absolute clarity and wisdom. Our path is illuminated by the virtue of a steadfast mind, not the imposition of control.

It is with profound hope that I witness your ascension, Arasdir Miravaris.
 

Unity, as is purity, is disrupted when infidelity prompts a derelict and unfounded peace that contrasts our principles. It is a calling that requires more than mere leadership, a living vanguard of Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya, and the compass with which all mali'aheral must guide themselves. For centuries, perhaps nearing a millennium the An’asul Talonnii has devoted itself wholly to the service of the Motherland. Through agriculture and nourishment, through artistry and magical scholarship, through research, diplomacy, and governance, our name has been woven into the very fabric of Haelun’or. Though we are remembered most often for our political contributions, our roots stretch far deeper than the chambers of debate.

The An’asul Talonnii was never born into abundance. We were a small house, a vulnerable one, and the curse of Iblees struck our lineage with particular cruelty. Yet where others may have surrendered to despair, we resolved instead to transform hardship into purpose. We chose not stagnation, but defiance. We chose to challenge the complacency of the status quo, to thrive as the underdogs of our age. As our creed has always declared: if one desires change, one must become the instrument of it.

For much of my life, I have been branded a thorn within society, not because I bore hatred towards the Motherland, but because I refused to indulge in the hollow pleasantries and performative decorum that plague our political sphere. I have always spoken plainly. My thoughts leave my mouth unfiltered and unsoftened, and for that honesty I have suffered greatly. Threats of Purity Tribunals. Calls for my exclusion. Demands for my removal as Laurir An’asul.

Yet I ask the state to remember this above all else:

When assassins were sent against myself and my Talonnii, not once did we raise our hands against Haelun’or. Not once did we betray the Motherland. While others painted us as enemies, we spent our days spreading the gospel of Larihei, seeking those lost lambs who once walked proudly among their kin but had since been cast into the herds of lesser cattle, where resentment and hatred festered within them.

For centuries, I was denied my home. Haelun’or closed its gates to me, and I was forced into exile beyond the walls of the nation I had spent my life serving. Yet even then, I refused to waste away in bitterness. I chose instead to learn. To study the lesser races. To understand those who sought us harm. Even the darkspawn possesses lessons worth uncovering.

One cannot blind oneself to all that is uncomfortable and still claim to seek salvation. To reject understanding is to walk willingly toward oblivion, and in oblivion there awaits only ruin.

Only after Maheral Miravaris himself confirmed my purity, confirmed that I had never harboured ill intent toward the Motherland was I permitted to return to my people. Yet by then, the damage had already been done. Rumours travel swifter than truth, and reputations are far easier destroyed than restored.

Still, I remain steadfast in my beliefs.

I believe in free speech. I believe in democracy. We are Mali’thill, not Valah..not blind zealots kneeling before figures who gorge themselves within ivory towers while the masses starve below in the mud.

I will not be silenced.

I will not yield.

To Maheral Miravaris, I once again offer the unwavering loyalty of House An’asul. My Talonnii stand ready to serve at your command in whatever capacity the Motherland may require.

And to the state itself, let this missive stand as a reminder.

Remember all that the An’asul Talonnii have sacrificed for Haelun’or. Remember all we have endured in service to the Motherland. Never did we ask for reward, nor recognition. Yet in return for our loyalty, we were met with persecution, even attempted genocide.

And still, we returned.

That is what it means to be An’asul.

Our sundered people have weathered countless toils, and though gloom gathered and the heart grew oft weary upon our long and winding path, hope was never wholly forlorn. Ever there came to us, like a ray of light through a clouded sky, the kindness of those who lent their solace, and through it lightened the burdens of our wandering. 

For this grace so idly given and the unfaltering trust and hope, to gladden those who laboured, and to honour the pillars of faith unbroken, we are to host in Taliyu'lin a celebration of its hallowed halls, freshly carven of stone. 

Chief stands amongst the flames of hope, however, one whose craft surpasses even the fairest telling: Korvec Alemnir, mason of Lareh'thilln, Karinah'siol, Asul’hileia, Tahn'miar, Siramide and now Taliyu'lin. It is in gratitude for his tireless devotion and the beauty of his works marble-hewn that we shall name this festival.

Though we found brief refuge within the mesa, we have always known this vassal was not meant to endure. Its purpose was to shelter us from the storm that raged outside our walls, not to define our legacy. as put to pen on the 21st day of the First Seed in the year 271 of the Second Age

              f the foundering of the Golden Pools knowledge has long passed beyond recall, and eludes now even the wisest amongst our kin, but scarcely can one deem that such hallowing was a trifling quirk of stone, to have been hewn idly by the caverns’ deep. There was purpose wrought in those caverns, and it is folly to believe mere chance alone laboured in that hour. A will, far more subtle and vast for even mali’thill reckoning, sought to undo the marring of the world and rekindle a design unaddled by the fell and foul.

It was, then, not helmed by fortune and chance alone, but by the careful weaving of unseen tapestry, that Larihei harkened the call. A power through the Golden Pools sought to breathe truth and wholeness into the unfinished creation, but left no guiding word, or, if ever our people were privy to their design, such is lost to the turning of the ages. 

Of the great powers that roam so freely our world we cannot ask for counsel, for no greater is their charge than that of our own - however gleaming the threads, still bound they are by the breadth of the tapestry, and beyond it they cannot see. 

Thus, those few who saw the peril of Malin’s withered mind followed Her, and their weariness was eased by those gleaming waters, their fate to be forever shifted. For a time maehr’sae hiylun’ehya spread, and all flourished beneath the Light of the Pools. Words were first laid and song was first sung.

Then came the sundering. The world was bereaved of the First Silver City and the boon forlorn beneath its ruin would not see renewal, leaving stewardship of its blessed light in so very few. A grim vigil is held over hope in the gathering gloom. 

Is it loathe which forestalls a new foundering of the Pools? Has this veiled creator taken leave of hope?

Answers to belief come, as many as blades of grass. Malaurir Braxus Ni’leya, after the long years took their toll upon his mind and shriveled his soul, turned to misguided conceit. He saw in Larihei the foremost mason of this Path, and unto Her he afforded reverence beyond what was owed. It is true that the elves were then delivered from Malin’s wroth, and in no small part did The First Maheral avail in laying the stepstones to purifying the world, but Hers was a calling no greater than those she shepherded. 

Around us houses for the unseen are built more splendid than those of the living, and wanton ruin is wrought as means for nearness to the divine. Offerings lay rotting upon cold stone-hewn altars and the hungry tarry untended.

Should this shaping force which abides beyond the rain curtain of the world be gladdened, then, by vain clamour?

Perhaps it is needless to ponder, and to mull over yellowed scroll and of the skies to ask questions of our duty, but we may hold that silver that is true does not wither, and that through our toil is long night forestalled, until all the hearts worn thin by evil will be eased through our grace unhoarded, or until this long slumber is ended and again purity is granted to the world entire.

Mali’thill are summoned to a Public Assembly, to express their concerns and grievances to Sohaer Veralya Wynasul, as to pave a way forward for our culture and people. Foundations of renewed leadership will be laid before the citizenry, alongside opportunities to carve our collective future.

To friends, colleagues, allies, but most importantly to a confused prince: I write this missive to restore your grasp on reality. It warms our heart that you vow to restore the city of Siraminde. Its story is far from over, and to let a few puddles and some scorched marble sign its fate would be an injustice to its architects. Know, however, that it is no longer elHaelun’or. For Haelun’or is not a place, but a people. A people that those who would grant you this land attempted to exterminate, be it children or elderly. A people that now roam the continent, be it bare or disguised. A culture that the Valah would like to see eradicated, now spreading to more ears than ever before as Mali’Aheral mingle with any who would bless us with their hospitality.  As such, elHaelun’or will find its place again, as it has done so many times before.

Thus, Autumn Prince, Lord, Tir’sair, we wish you the best of luck. But ruler of Haelun’or, you are not.

Blessed mali'thill,
As the days pass by and the time rapidly approaches to the that of our city's predicted destruction, we came together today to discuss important goings-on.

We have gained the safety of our people, and made plans as the Empire continues to hunt our kin. No matter what the Empire or the races of men do, we will survive. We will continue on no matter how hard it becomes. Our history and library archives will not be given away under any circumstances, but if copies are wanted in the future they can simply be asked for.

I will admit, the depth of our purity has caused our people much detriment. In the assembly, we acknowledged this, and also understand that the past of pushing Purity onto others has created a great many enemies. To change, we must remember that our concept of Purity does not apply to people who are not High Elves. Furthermore, we are in agreement that we will strive to no longer push this onto others like humans do with their religions, because this counters our culture of progress and health. However, we should still hold those we consider pure in high regard, for they are the best of us and something we 'aheral should desire to be.

On the topic of our culture, that being Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya, we concluded that the demand to change it is to be refused. Its translation is "Progress and Health" in the common tongue, and asking someone to deviate from such a wish to others is absurd. I urge you to think about the implications of such - for if you aren't wishing others good health, prosperity, and the betterment of their lives, then what else can you do except wish for the worst to come to them? That idea is fine for enemies, but not for those you consider friends and family.

Though we lack a homeland for the time being, we stand united - our bonds unbroken. Thus, we announce the founding of The Silver Enclave of Len'miruel. From here, we shall come back stronger and better than before.

The Silver Massacre

Blessed citizens of the Silver State

I write this missive today with a heavy heart, reflecting on the events that brought us here. Like many of you, I have felt grief for our city, and rage towards those who have wronged us. For those of you that may have been away or unaware, our city has been dissolved and supposedly an Aengul is set to destroy it in nigh six elven days.

What led us here? Simply, it was ignorance. The ignorance of those in charge which let a den of Mystics fester beneath our city, which our protectors and the Empire discovered, yet rather than inform us of the danger, they saw fit to storm our city and destroy it themselves - but that was not all they did.

This den of filth had ties to the Sohaer's own residence, and the barracks that Okarir'sil Antelian oversaw. The implications of such leave a vast majority of the fault with these two individuals, the former of whom was removed from his position. In this judgement the Idunians, who had vowed to protect us from threats, saw fit to bring all 'aheral present to center-stage. This included children of whom bore no fault in the matter. This group was then, from eyewitness accounts, slaughtered without remorse. Why, I pose to you, would someone who swore protection to a citizenry who more or less followed their laws when they were aware of them, decide to murder the innocent like barbarians without honor? Then they saw fit to censure our culture. Further to that their librarian saw fit to approach me personally and demand our library's troves of knowledge - I refused. They may censure the 'aheral culture, but they will not take away our identity and histories. We will not forget what they have done, and we will not forgive. Know that this is also not only us that they direct their hatred towards, but all elves and races not born of man. This hatred will not stop until we are all dead and buried, but we will continue to exist long after they have crumbled to dust.

As for the what remains of our council's state, Acalmaehr and Antelian's ignorance forces us to no longer allow them to hold an office. This leaves Okarir'maehr Laerdya, Okarir'akaln Lenniel, and myself with our Tilruir. Recovery will take no small amount of unity and diplomacy, but I have faith that we will endure.
