ONCE MORE, WE EXTEND an invitation to any and all who are interested in heading down into the Vortican caves to explore a rather lush expansion that we found on our last venture below. Supplies shall be provided in terms of medical kits, explorer packs, and lanterns to help guide our paths. We ask that while your weaponry is brought you aren’t too keen on pulling it. The main cave has rather dangerous things that lurk inside, the lush portion seems to be rather tame. We would like to do our best to preserve the natural life within and are more so focused on documenting what is held there.

  We look forward to seeing our fellow adventures again as we embark on yet another unforgettable spelunking journey.

Much like the escapades we’ve had within the past few years. Those who live in The Unified Domain of Vortice extend an invitation to the residents of Aevos to join us on a
spelunking expedition into the Caverns below the towering karsts of Talon’s Roost!

We will be going diving through an underwater tunnel, so be sure to bring water-breathing potions to help your fellow explorers out as we can only supply so many We will provide medical kits, adventuring packs, and various other necessities. That is; while supplies last for we can’t predict the outcome of those that wish to join us.
There is no guarantee that there will be enough for everyone.

The Vortician Council is looking to put together a team of spelunkers for the next expedition into the depths of Vortice. If you are interested in exploring the underground of Talon's Roost, and the possibility of finding treasure and making ecological discoveries to document and profit off of, please meet in the capital during the month of Malin's Welcome. Gear, including rope, lanterns, and packed medical kits will be provided. It is recommended you bring respirators or masks, heavy padded clothing, and something to defend yourself with, as we are facing the unknown with this descent.

The Kraken's Festival

Contestants shall have fifteen ashen minutes to collect as many fish as possible, with rarer fish equaling more points. Fishermen are allowed to bring in their own skinning knives and fishing rods- HOWEVER, fishermen bags will not be permitted to avoid the potential for cheating. Whoever earns the most points by the end of the time frame will walk home with a prize of 250 mina and the temporary title of “Vortice’s Luckiest Fisherman!” Should the winner wish to keep their title, they will have to compete the next time this is held.

Lighthouse Race: 

Participants for the race shall find themselves racing around Vortice’s lighthouse through a series of laps to see whose sailing skills are superior. Sabotage is allowed and encouraged, with the allowance of tipping another’s boat in order to get ahead. The goal is to finish the laps in first place, and whoever reaches that goal will receive a prize of 50 mina, as well as the temporary title of “The Sea Snake.” Should the winner wish to keep their title, they will have to compete the next time this is held.

If the competitions are not up your alley or you miss some, have no fear, as a variety of delectable sea-based delicacies shall be there for any who desire a bite to eat as well as refreshing drinks whilst you enjoy the beautiful sights of the water and the lush coral beds underneath.

Throughout Vortice’s history, trade has always been at the nation’s core- a staple of its longevity. Hosting a city against a port has a marvelous crew of peddlers, tradesmen, adventures, and so on. No matter where they hail, all are welcome to sell their goods within Vortice and we look forward to you joining this day of merriment to celebrate the commerce for our second trade faire. On top of our typical events for the trade faire, we are also hosting a costume contest for Knox-o-ween! So get your spooky on, and dress up for the occasion!

Beneath the karsts of Talon’s Roost a rumbling was heard, followed by a great crack in Yumegatari.  When a party went to investigate we found what appeared to be a baby mountain lizard. Two ashen days later; it’s mother reared her stoney head and partially destroyed Yumegatari in her wake.

We want to say thank you to those who helped slay the beast and thank you for helping make the city a safer place.


Once the dust had settled and the monster lay dead, crushed under a building,the passageway it carved was open to be explored. There we found a great cavern that seemed to stretch endlessly with all sorts of exotic flora and fauna around.

We have sent a small team in to help set up bare-bone structures to make the cave system more explorable. For would-be adventures, be warned there are other creatures and wildlife unknown to us that lurk within.

Come one, come all! The Cordius Academy is finally opening its doors to start a series of medical lessons for aspiring doctors and those that just want to sharpen their skills alike! From novice to expert, we will be hosting lessons for mostly everyone.

The classes are walk-ins and must have at least four students for the  lesson to take place

Courses:

Novice: First aid and herb basics

Combat Medic Training: Tourniquets, bandages, and how not to pull out an arrow.

Intermediate: Surgery, Amputation, Heartbeat, Bone setting, more in-depth herbs

Advanced: Lung Bong, Removing Necrosis, Niche Injuries

VORTICIAN TRADE FAIRE

Throughout Vortice’s history, trade has always been at the nation’s core- a staple into its longevity. Hosting a city against a port has always encouraged a colorful cast of traders and travelers.  No matter nation or creed, Vortice welcomes those from all walks of life to enjoy a day of celebration and commerce for our first of many trade faires in the new world.

THE FREE MARKETPLACE

With the faire being open to all, the Vortician Council encourages everyone to do what the State is best known for: trading and selling. Temporary stalls will be set up throughout the city square for use, and a competition between traders will be held. Whomever sells the most items in a day will win a prize, showing their true prowess as a merchant.

A small fee will be charged to those who wish to display their wares, dependant on the location of said stall, though we have no doubt you’ll at least double. No more than a simple 10 mina fee for merchants who are interested in setting up shop during the fair. 

TAVERN NIGHT

Come fairtime, Vortice’s Whirling Chalice tavern finds itself full of life with the regulars and  travelers searching for food and drink amongst the festivities. At all times, there will be open access to the Whirling Chalice - drink, food, and most importantly, conversation.

Perhaps if you’re persuasive enough, you might convince the pub tender to put it on the house.

FESTIVITIES AND REFRESHMENTS

In addition to the drinks of the tavern, refreshments should be in abundance as each trader will bring their own wares, often encouraging them to bring forth food of their cultures, in order to prepare fresh for you.

To top off the myriad of offerings, the Vortician Council will be providing a few festivities to entertain yourselves with, within the game room below the square. Chess, Tic Tac Toe, 4-in-a-row, darts, and Haenseti chess will all be available for you to entertain yourself with.

The coins will rain and the mead will flow, come partake in the festivities.

Vortician Lunar Ball

We, the Congress of Vortice, cordially invite you to join us in our Dance of the Stars Lunar Ball in the city of Vortice.

As the name may suggest, the theme for our dance is based upon the lunar cycle and stars of the night sky, therefore the occasion’s dress would consist of dark colors to match that of the night sky, so think dark blues, purples and blacks.

Nothing is required of you, just your presence, your pretty face and your respect as we make sure your night is filled with dance, drink, and festivity.

All are invited within reason, and whilst this is a civil event, any hostility will be met with disinvitation. Take care to not lose your invitation over petty squabbles.

Everything was just like normal, no harm was to be made of, quite yet. As they continued with their games, Ornthalas was searching real hard for the hiders. Little did he know, there was a battle happening amongst them..

Air and Nailo stood on a roof, unfortunately, Nailo could not get where Air was hiding. Then... war broke out between the two! Nailo began to fight with Air, both throwing hands with each other. Nailo inched closer and closer to the edge before, WHACK! Air knocked her off the building, the druidess falling unconscious to the ground. The games were just getting a little too extreme, even for hide and seek...

Remember kids, be safe on roofs and never fight with your uncle!

Vortice humbly invites you to our Trades Festival. During this event stalls will be available for rent for the evening, many cultures from around Almaris shall be displayed. There will be specialty items that you can get during this from different Nations and or Settlements. The Tavern shall be open with a full stock of new drinks made specifically to celebrate. The event mainly consists of trading different goods from different places and seeing the different cultures brought to one place and how we can all get along with a little drink and a good fair trade.

The Grand Opening of the Vortice Arena

The opening of the Vortice Arena is something perhaps unexpected, but something we’ve had quiet talks of for a while. A designated area for fights and such, and a source of entertainment and a chance to hone the skills of combat.

We’ve plans for this, though! Not just the fighting of descendent against descendent, but also descendent against beast. Worry not! There will be no slaying of innocent creatures, taken from their homes. All animals will be conjured, controlled by the pre-chosen mage for the designated round.

With that said, the event for this will be the fighting of animals! Without risk of significant harm, it is simply a challenge of how fast you can take the creature down. With each round, depending on how many people sign up for the competition, those that were the slowest in each round would be eliminated, as those who move on go against larger and tougher animals- perhaps even multiple of a kind!

Anyone can participate, mages, fighters, and anything in between! The prize to the winner  will be either an enchanted item or an enchanted weapon, and bets will be taken in by a council member, with half of those bets being distributed to the winner.

Free foods and drinks will be given as well to those who attend! There will be cake.

Across Almaris a flyer is stapled to all easily accessible notice boards. Upon the parchment is the scrawling script describing the following.

Join us in the Alley Alehouse on the Amber Cold of the 35th year of the second age for a joyous event! Hosted in the Vortice capital city of Talon’s Port by the Congress of the Monarch, the party will include a wide range of alcoholic choices, games, and delectable food for purchasing. Below is described a few games that will be ran during the event!

Competitive darts

A game of skill in which the participants shall take turns throwing three darts at the board, Highest scoring individual of the night will win a free drink of their choice from the bar.

Iblees coin

A deceitfully difficult game in which players will take turns trying to throw mina across the table and land a coin in each of the opponents five shot glasses. Each coin made in your glass requires you to slam the shot. If party goers are interested a tournament may be organized but otherwise this will be done on a person to person basis.

Tavern Brawl

As the name suggests that the roof of the tavern will be used for brawls. An ''alleged'' safe place to show just how great of a fighter that drink says you are. Bets can be placed or simply just a friendly event of slamming each other with chairs. Individuals with the most wins at the end of the event shall get 150 mina and free drinks for the following elven week.

These selections are just to name a few of the attractions offered at the Port. The only restriction imposed on attendance is the city will be strictly denying all weapons from entering the city. If you forget this and show up with one, the guards will gladly hold it for you till you leave. Elsewise all are free to attend no matter race, nation, or creed so long as they do not start any issues.

We, the Congress of Vortice, cordially invite you to join us in our Dance of the Ocean ball in the capital city Talon’s Port. As the name suggests, it is an ocean themed ball, so we implore you to dress accordingly in an ocean themed scheme. Blues,greens, purples, corals, and so on. You can even come in a bathing suit if you so please! Just keep it appropriate, as children will likely be there. Be sure to bring your masks and get ready to dance, eat, drink, and have your fun with your friends.

Grand Writing Competition

Greetings Writers Of Almaris!

The crew members of the Talon’s Port Library, “Talon’s Tales and Tomes” are hosting an amazing opportunity for all citizens with a passion for writing: A WRITING COMPETITION! We are looking for ANY original works: Poetry, Plays, Non-Fiction, etc from any authors throughout Almaris. These works will be judged by the librarian faculty of the Talon’s Grotto library and the Vortice Council! Three winners will be chosen out of the applicants. These three winners will receive many fantastic prizes! 

First place winners will be given 100 Mina and their book will be featured in the featured section of the library with a special colored sign of your choosing!

Second and Third place winners will each get 25 Mina and their book featured in the library featured section!

you are a writer and wish to obtain these prizes, then join the competition! When the competition comes to a close, we will publicly announce the winners! If you win, we will soon contact you via bird after the announcement of the winners and try to deliver your prize as soon as possible!

Once again, a festival of restoration blesses our great city- though we're no longer just a city. We're now a nation with bustling citizens, loving families, and new council members.

It has been nearly an elven year since it has been hosted, and it is again hosted for similar reasons- the rebirth of greatness and the pursuance of homeliness, and eagerness to see old and new friends visiting the town just as it has before.

Come one, come all, to the Festival of Restoration, for food, drinks, games, and so much more! We've alcohol and we've virgin drinks, we've meat and we've vegetables. We've company for even the people who are usually alone!

And who knows! Something special may come of this Festival....
