Throughout Vortice’s history, trade has always been at the nation’s core- a staple into its longevity. Hosting a city against a port has always encouraged a colorful cast of traders and travelers. No matter nation or creed, Vortice welcomes those from all walks of life to enjoy a day of celebration and commerce for our first of many trade faires in the new world. THE FREE MARKETPLACE A fisherman peddling his wares. With the faire being open to all, the Vortician Council encourages everyone to do what the State is best known for: trading and selling. Temporary stalls will be set up throughout the city square for use, and a competition between traders will be held. Whomever sells the most items in a day will win a prize, showing their true prowess as a merchant. A small fee will be charged to those who wish to display their wares, dependant on the location of said stall, though we have no doubt you’ll at least double. No more than a simple 10 mina fee for merchants who are interested in setting up shop during the fair. TAVERN NIGHT A depiction of the denizens of Vortice enjoying the company of a bard, parlaying the previous tavern in Almaris. Come fairtime, Vortice’s Whirling Chalice tavern finds itself full of life with the regulars and travelers searching for food and drink amongst the festivities. At all times, there will be open access to the Whirling Chalice - drink, food, and most importantly, conversation. Perhaps if you’re persuasive enough, you might convince the pub tender to put it on the house. FESTIVITIES AND REFRESHMENTS Artwork of two men playing chess together. In addition to the drinks of the tavern, refreshments should be in abundance as each trader will bring their own wares, often encouraging them to bring forth food of their cultures, in order to prepare fresh for you. To top off the myriad of offerings, the Vortician Council will be providing a few festivities to entertain yourselves with, within the game room below the square. Chess, Tic Tac Toe, 4-in-a-row, darts, and Haenseti chess will all be available for you to entertain yourself with. The booths and stalls provided by the Vortician Council are going to be limited, and are expected to fill out fast, so if you’re interested in securing your place at the faire, contact Aerith Maelstorm, Lenora Jusmia, or Wes Vertesk to get yourself squared. The coins will rain and the mead will flow, come partake in the festivities. Spoiler [OOC] Saturday, July 8th, 2023 7pm Eastern How do I get there? GO THROUGH THE LOWLANDS AND GO THROUGH AAUN. GO TOWARDS THE CAPITAL, AND THEN AS YOU COME UP ON THE CHURCH, HEAD TO THE LEFT OF IT AND CONTINUE ON. YOU MAY COME ACROSS A GATE THAT MIGHT LOOK AS IF IT WILL CLOSE ON YOU AT ANY MOMENT.
