First Moot of the Viridan Enclave

[!] To all those of the druidic order, letters would find their way into their hands. Brought about via the forms of various colorful birds, at the top the leaf bearing sigil of the Viridian Enclave could be seen.

To all brothers and sisters of the druidic order an invite is extended,

A formal invite to all druids and dedicants of the order to elect a third archdruid of the druidic order. At the previous moot Brother Timberwolfs name was brought fourth, however he has chosen to turn down the position. Thus a third will be elected to fill the role by a majority vote of those in attendance. Feel free to come with nominations in mind.

Following the election of a third archdruid, we have matters to still speak upon. For those of us that have been in battle with the bear we would like to impart our knowledge of what has been effective against the blighted mani and her kin, to better prepare those for any future endeavors. 

In addition we seek to start planning how to move forward in regards to the missing item that was spoken of at the previous grand moot.

A Message to the Iryalii

Written on the 264th Year of the Second Age

To the Iryalii People,

After much thought these past Elven weeks, I believe my time as your Eliheiuhii has come to an end. The winds change, and with it, so should this nation’s leadership to keep up with the shift in directions. I shall still remain as an Elder, to always provide guidance and knowledge to whoever may seek it. My life’s mission shall always be in service to the Mali’ame and Nature, and the Vulnrith Hall remains to continue its own mission within Iryalen. Let us allow someone new to be the guiding torch of our forests, and I look forward to the next season in our lives.

TRIAL OF ELARHIL

The Called: Caius Prisgoth

Written on the 3rd of the Amber Cold, the 261st Year of the Second Age

The Trial of Elarhil, as quoted from the Ironwood Tome:

“Should an Iryalii be found in violation of any of these laws, they will be brought forth to public trial. Witnesses will come forth to give their testimonies and the accused will then be given time to defend themselves. Should the accused be a member of a Seed, their Chieftain may represent them in the trial. Once all stories have been presented, the Greenblades will then vote on whether the accused is guilty or innocent. Should the accused be found guilty, the Council will vote privately on what their punishment should be. The punishment will be carried out by the Eliheiuhii.

The trial applies to all of those above the age of eighteen. However, those Iryalii who are under the age of fifty are still considered children, and therefore have the right to bring along a representative for their trial should they not be in a Seed or have a Chieftain represent them.”

Before Iryalen, there was Nevaehlen - a village with no laws upon Aevos. During this time, a move of rebellion was made to prove a point: lawlessness was no boon, but a bane. Three items were stolen, but a deal had been made. All three items would be returned once proper laws were written and enforced, as thievery would then be illegal and punishable. However, this deal had not been upheld, and only one of the three items had been returned despite the completion of law within the lands. It is unjust, a disappointment to Amaethon, with no amount of decades soothing the wound such a crime as created.

For these reasons, Caius Prisgoth is being called to submit to the Trial of Elarhil by Sonna Vulnrith. He shall make an appearance at Omentahu, and state his case before the Council and Greenblades. Once both sides of the story have been told, the Greenblades shall vote on Caius’ innocence or guilt. Should he be found guilty, then the Council shall vote on his punishment and such will be carried out by the Eliheiuhii. Caius Prisgoth as an Elven Week to come forth and submit himself to trial. No move to detain Caius Prisgoth by any Iryalii is to be made before this Elven week is up.

This is a notice to please report to any of the Seed Chieftains, Stewards or Greenblades if you believe you have found a shrine towards the Aspects or Mani that may have been desecrated or defiled in some way.

Please take care of yourselves traversing the forests around and beyond the cliffs, for those who seek to proclaim the Wild Faith as false may continue to trail the land in search of ruination.

We will not let those that threaten these lands continue with impunity.

Late last month, the quiet streets of Iryalen were disturbed by a roving pack of demons. These creatures stormed in, demanding combat or submission. That we followers of the Aspects and the Wild Faith abandon our “False Gods” and accept the “true faith in unshackled darkness.” I thank those that sprang into action alongside myself that night in defending our home, despite the loss of the battle and the corruption of one of our trees. I also thank the Aspects that none were killed and injuries were kept minimal.

To the druids of Azuras, I pray you heed my words. These creatures, deranged as they may be, are dangerous. Be wary on the roads. Keep a steady watch on any shrines to the Aspects or Mani that you know of, as they have already defaced Iryalen’s statues of Felixii and Kwakwani. But know this, as it appeared the tables may have begun to shift, they showed brief moments of fear, as noted by Brother Decay. Our numbers and our faith give us strength, do not let them shake you.

To the denizens of Iryalen, this attack cannot go unpunished. These creatures will return again, and again. They will attempt to frighten you, capture you, curse you or burn you with their twisted Malflame. But our resolve must be stronger. The time is now for action. We have become stagnant in our peace, and for too long I have attempted to replicate the works of my predecessors. Instead, a new age of the mali’ame calls for new ideas, rooted in tradition. The teachings and ways of the Halerir’elame have done well to lay the groundwork for what is to come, and from its ashes rises the Sil’ahernleh Ame’onn, the Blessed Blades of the Forest. The time has come, brothers and sisters, to root out these aggressors that threaten our way of life.

We shall burn away the Darkness threatening this world.

A Message to the Nevaehli

Written in the 236th Year of the Second Age

To the People of Nevaehlen,

On the 9th of the Grand Harvest, an Omentahu was called to discuss and vote on some changes to our community. The purpose of this missive is to educate the Nevaehli who were ne there on the changes going forth. The first change, which was voted in unanimously, is that all Greenblades are now required to serve in our military, the Halerir’elame. This means attendance will be required at training going forth, and I shall speak with the Eldiraar on what that will look like. The second change is the removal of the Elpuerith, The Scribe, position from the Vira’estel. This seat has gone empty on our council since it was last held by Leyu Sylvaeri, and in this time, we have discovered that it is ne needed.

While only those topics were brought to vote, there were many other discussions held. The community talked about how Nevaehlen has changed since its days under Miven, and what that means for us going forth. How has our identity shifted, and what changes must we make to reflect that? The Chromaweave was also brought up by Baelenorn, the Starlight Druid, who educated us on its most recent activity along with Lenore, the Spring Druid. It is growing in size and ability, and all Nevaehli are advised to stay away from the Hollow unless in a prepared group. It has the ability to enter our minds through our gifts, so do ne cast your spells near it. Should you wish to aid in the fight against the Chromaweave, lend your aid to Jun-Lei and speak with either Lenore or Baelenorn for more information. Jun-Lei is a vassal of one of our allies, Koyo-Kuni, and this Hollow must be stopped before it corrupts more of Nature.

A smell of bitter wades into the pine forests, and between the lively timber and prickly leaves sat a Prisgoth, humming lowly beneath the breath, attempting to commune to something … a religious practice, no doubt.

And only then, that proud Chieftain released his defeat in a mere breath; releasing such pride, like it were nothing at all to begin with. 

He wished for reformation, a dismantlement of their once-sacred ways turned into unending waves that carried driftwood more than shiny pearls. 

And only then, nature gave him his deserved revelation.

Become one, with the Tree; infuse into the soil, and know what it is like to be all-knowing.

For years now I’ve found myself lost again, trapped in the never-ending cycle of self-journey and discovery of my person. And for this time, I find difficulty in hearing the Father’s voice, let alone speaking my own. A loss in faith and belief has tanked my once-adamant soul, and with this I feel no shame–only excitement for what knowledge catches my eye next; for to be an Elf, is to be endless in the strive of wisdom, alongside intelligence.

I relinquish my responsibilities as your High Priest, and give hopes that you’ll find another to replace a figure as great as I.

She’d been their Voice once, a guiding figure for the Mali’ame, yet swiftly did she place such voice against him, and his kin. No fond memories lingered in the depths of that Priests' mind, either long gone like herself, or barely existing in the first place.

Wisps of pale gold thrummed in a fog, coiling around him—much like the forcibly emerged roots ‘mongst that statue. It spared no mercy, ripping through the rock, making a mess of what once was. Shattered ivory and water spilled onto the dirt path; her head laid in fracture, her memory to ruin. 

With her image gone, only then did he smile.

In recent events, I’ve felt a shift ‘pon my soul—roots emerged with a single sway of my palm, and my gifts are no longer useless in the heat of battle. Something new happens in our afterlife; be it an argument ‘twixt the Aspects, or just mere pity from too many battles lost.  

Though I am only correct in assuming that the graceful Mother, she no longer holds a full grasp to the mantle, and instead passes it over to our Vehement Father. It is he who fights, and he who hunts; a will made fit only for the warrior, and with this will comes our newfound blessing. And at the very least, he deserves a thanks from the people—the ones he’s helped so admirably. 

I will hold such an event in the Faith Pit, these coming elven weeks. Bring trinkets and gifts only suitable for our Lord: bones and fur of animals you've hunted, or blood.

A Celebration of the Spring Equinox

To be held on Malin’s Welcome and the First Seed in the 225th Year of the Second Age

To the People of Nevaehlen and Our Allies, 

The plans for this festival have been in the works long since before war was called, and no matter how the political climate may change in our lands, it will not disrupt the seasons. The snow thaws from our glades and the brightest of flowers begin to sprout from the soil, and while the realm may call for the shedding of blood, Cerridwen is still upon us and must be revered. The Mother must be thanked for the arrival of her spring, and beseeched for her many blessings. It is our hope that we can put aside our preparations and bloodlust for a day of festivities before the call of battle. The Isle of Nevaehlen thus invites you all to a Festival of Spring, a celebration of its Equinox.

The Weaving of Tiva’illern | Thursday, March 20, 6 PM EST

The day before the Spring Equinox, the denizens of Nevaehlen are invited to join Eliheiuhii Sonna Vulnrith in the weaving of Tiva’illern; the sacred elven language of flowers, and specifically its use in ritualistic ceremony. Wreaths of vervain, golden columbine, and orange bud shall be made, and placed on every doorstep within the Isle to bring the blessings of Cerridwen into the abodes.

The Rite of New Beginning | Friday, March 21, 4 PM EST 

To officially begin the festival, the realm of Aevos is invited to join Prophet Illynora Sylvaeri and Eltaliyna Liriana Sirame in performing the Rite of New Beginning. It shall be done in the practice of the Way of the Mother, and in prayer to Cerridwen. Those who wish to partake in the ritual shall offer forth a braid of their hair to be burned by pyre, as well as any items that represent past attachments or something that holds symbolic meaning, should they wish. Once the offerings have been burnt to ashes, said ashes will then be scattered over flowing water.

Merchant Stalls | During the Festival

Throughout the festival, merchants shall display and sell their wares from the many stalls throughout the grounds. All are welcomed and encouraged to peruse what is available for purchase, and to bring enough mina to spend in excess. The merchants registered so far are as follows:

Serinwë's Hand is a company of healers named for the ancient matriarch of the Almenodrim peoples. Herbalists within Serinwë's Hand spend their days crafting traditional herbal medicines to cure aches and pains and minor illnesses, such as atheros root tincture, javens tea, and coltsfoot syrup, among other remedies.

The Grub Core

No fancy slop, no weak bellies. Under Gruul, the best chef in the realm, the fires burn high, the meat stays thick, and the drinks hit hard. Wood Elven Games | During the Festival

Throughout the festival, popular games of the Mali’ame shall be available to be played. A couple boards for Wetlands Crossing, as well as marked trees for Hitching shall be set up within the grounds, as well as a pit for Sparring. Victors of said games shall be rewarded prizes.

Rules of Wetlands Crossing

The goal of Wetlands Crossing is to be the first player to remove all of their pieces from the board, thereby crossing the wetlands safely. The board consists of three rows of ten tiles, with each tile being known as a domain. Each player starts with five pieces, which begin on the top row in an alternated pattern.

Rules of Hitching

The game of Hitching is a competitive, Wood Elven climbing game originating from Nevaehlen. Kinsmen would challenge one another in their climbing skills, scaling the length of a tree with various branches, to retrieve the prized bundle of colored feathers at the tree's peak. Only the quickest of climbers, those said to have the spirit of Saen’Dei or Norra, prove successful in this game.

Rules of Sparring

Spars may be done with bare hands or wooden weapons. The spar is called at first blood. No targeting of the eyes.

The Rite of Ostara | Friday, March 21, 8 PM EST

To conclude the official festivities, an old tradition of Nevaehlen, the Father Circle to be exact, shall be performed by High Priestess Arle Sirame. The Rite of Ostara involves the blessing of an egg in the waters of Attunement, such an egg then handed out to a youth to take care of. The waters of Attunement shall then be drunk by those who wish to participate with the use of a seashell.

A Place of Worship for Elnarnsae’ame

Written in the 224th Year of the Second Age

In honour of the Father, Cernunnos, The Springmother, Cerridwen, and the mighty Demi-Gods that serve in their name, the Faith Pit within Nevaehlen is held for the practice and devotion of the Elnarnsae’ame

The sacred faith pit by the main square in the Vale should never be used for anything but the practice of worshipping for the Aspects and the Mani. Anything but this, is a strong offense against the laws of the Oaken Tome and an unholy blasphemy.

It has come to the attention of the Heial’estel and the Vira’estel, that this place of worship was recently subjected to an insult to the Aspects, and the rituals within the Faith. This behavior is condemned and can not be described by anything but blasphemy. To use the Faith Pit for another faith or for anything but the practice of the Wild Faith is to misunderstand the very essence of reverence and devotion.

Thus, I would like to enlighten you all on the Elnarnsae’ame and how to use the Faith Pit in the way it should be used, to maintain respect for the reverence of the Wild Faith. 

What is the Wild Faith?

On Aspects

The Wild faith, also known as elnarnsae’ame, is the faith and practice of the devolution of the Aenguls; the Aspects, and the Demi-Gods; the Mani.

The Aspects are eternal, holy and considered as the highest Gods of nature. To some, the Aspects are nature.

On the Balance

The followers of Elnarnsae’ame, as well as the druids and the oathed Nevaehli promise to faithfully protect and preserve the natural Balance. But what is the Balance?

In life, there is a natural cycle of course. It begins with the Mother, where a life is born. This child grows up beloved, becoming a strong and kind yet fearsome elf. They experience love and pain, laughter and tears, cold and warmth, and so much more. Until one day, they grow old and tired, weak and frail. It is now time for the Father, through the hunt of a predator, to guide the once-spirited elf closer to the end, ultimately claimed by death.

This natural course of life, that begins with life, confronted by the hunt and claimed by death, creates the natural cycle of life. After a prayer, it is common to find the practitioner of the Faith drawing a circle above their heart, this is done in reference to the cycle of life.

But what if the child lived a long, happy, immortal life? Or if they were never born at all? 

There can not be life without death, nor can there be death without life. The Balance can easily collate with a justice scale. On one plate of the justice scale, there is life. On the other, there is death. The justice scale itself is a bridge between these two parts of life, reflecting the hunt. If you take one of the pivotal parts of the natural cycle from the justice scale, whether it would be death or life, a clear imbalance is illustrated.

Without the Balance, Nature itself would shatter and weep. 

A common question is as to why the practice of Voidal Magick harms or upsets the balance. The Void is a place that lies beyond our world, separated from us by a Veil. It is a realm of nothingness, that does not abide by the rules of Nature, or follow the cycle of life.

On Cernunnos

The Father or the Horned Lord, stands as the God of the Hunt, the brave and instinctively predator of the natural cycle of life.

The spirit of the Horned Lord courses through the veins of every predator who stalks in the shadows. The spirit of the Father is one of bravery and courage, to those who persevere and endure, to those who fight and hunt, until their dying breath.

On Cerridwen

 The Mother or the Green Lady stands as the Goddess of Life, the flourishing and benevolent caretaker of the natural cycle of life.

The caring Lady Of Life is a gentle and merciful mother, who draws forth and nurtures life. The spirit of the Mother is one for the healers and the caretakers, to the mothers and the leaders, to those who love and forgive, until it reaches its end in the natural cycle, for the hunt and the inevitable death.

On Mani

It is said that when the children of Horen walked on land, claiming and tearing forests down, ushering the animals who lived in the ancient glades before them, the Aspects blessed each tribe leader of the animal species gifts to protect their kin and persevere the Balance. They became the mightiest and strongest of their kin, Demi-Gods, and as we call them, Mani.

Each Mani has its own story and stands for different important traits. There is the Prince of Stags, Amaethon, who is the Mani of Compassion, Fatherhood, Justice and Regality, Prince of Bovines, Ceruvil, the Mani of Freedom, or Kwakwani, Prince of Ravens and Mani of Artistry, Beauty and Poetry. These are only three examples of more than dozens of others.

When one prays to a Mani, it is done so with respect and devotion to the Aspects, for the Mani are their attendants and manifestations.

How to Practice the Wild Faith

On the Shrines

Scattered throughout Nevaehlen are shrines dedicated to the Aspects. Both of the shrines can be found above the Grotto where attunements are held, and the Father Tree once grew. It is fitting to give offerings, pray, seek guidance or in other ways honour the Aspects by their respective shrines. 

The shrines of the Mani can be found in each of their natural habitats. For example, the shrine of Hamasta, the Prince of Dolphins and Llan’sae, the Princess of Turtles are near water, while the wise Princess of Owls, Ohowaki is found in the library.

On the Offerings

There are many things one can offer to the Aspects. By using the language of Tiva, one can offer herbs or flowers that represent the Mother or the Father, such as Vervain for the Green Lady or Snapdragon for the Horned Lord. Personal offerings such as items of sentimental value, blood or heirlooms, or offerings from a hunt such as bones and antlers are also fitting to offer. It is important to highlight that the Language of Tiva can also be used for the Mani and is not limited to the Aspects.

Each Mani can be offered a gift that reflects their nature. For example, fresh fish to eat for Bolomormaa, the Princess of Bears, fangs from a wolven battle for the Prince of Wolves, Morea, or riddles to solve for Sonnos, the Mani of Cleverness. 

Those who seek to learn more may find detailed descriptions within tomes in the library, or contact a Priest or Priestess. There is a wall with a listing of all the Priests of the Wild Faith at the Faith Pit.

Rituals to an Aspect or Mani, unless described differently, can be held by their shrines or at the sacred Faith Pit.

Nevaehlen is a home for those of the wilds and who walk the path of the Wild Faith. For those that are devoted to the community and to maintain and uphold the balance.

The Faith Pit is no mere gathering place. It is a holy place of worship for those with unwavering devotion to Elnarnsae’ame. To misuse it is not only an affront to the spirits but a deep wound upon the heart of the faith itself.

Let this serve as not only a reminder of the Faith Pit’s purpose, but also a call to reverence. May the blessings of the Aspects guide us all, and our actions to reflect the true and right way of the Wild Faith.

CHANGES TO THE COUNCIL

A Message to the Nevaehli

Written on the 222nd Year of the Second Age

To the People of Nevaehlen,

I write to you all today to convey a few changes that have happened within the Vira’estel. Both Leyu Sylvaeri and Nemea Ke Kai’len have stepped down from their positions of Elpuerith and Elsaner respectively, and we cannot thank them enough for their service in these roles. With such, we must elect new councilors to fill these open seats. For the position of Elsaner, the Heial’estel and Vira’estel nominate Vayan Vulnrith; a current and capable diplomat who assisted me in mitigating the conflict with the Church and Numendil, and continues to handle such now. However, the seat of Elpuerith remains open with no nomination from the councilors, so I urge any who are interested in the position to sign below.

I also bring up the proposition of adding a new seat to the Vira’estel, that of Elwelier, The Listener. It was my nomination of Nenar Terin to fill the role, but of course it shall be voted on, as well as Vayan Vulnrith becoming Elsaner.

In order to save time, and to avoid calling yet another Omentahu so soon, we shall hold the vote via ballots instead. In such ballot, please record your vote for the nominations listed above, as well as write in any concerns or questions you would like to be addressed. Admist the wetlands, a pupil kept himself concealed by a considerable canopy above, his eyes latched towards a scene below—a crocodile, indulging in its well-deserved feast of fresh doe.

It worked hard for its meal, shrouded by sailing flora above muddy and gross waters, and its execution was nothing short of admirable. Only then, the pupil learned a valued lesson;

With time and effort, he too could achieve that last laugh.

It is within our spiritual teachings to become one with nature—take pride when you bare teeth like Morea’s children, and stay vigilant like Amaethon’s. And in my years of learning these ways, I’ve reached a common verdict; material value is of descendant creation, and is holding us from becoming closer to the Balance. 

Although the common answer is to burn all that we possess, it is no doubt the Mali’ame of now are left with mere baby steps ‘fore the big changes. So, I implore those of Nevaehli status to join me in prayer—bring along an item of your choice; something sentimental, or something better off scorched than kept alive. Slash away at the chains of man, enjoy the fact that it burns, because you made it burn.

A Message to the Nevaehli

Written on the 220th Year of the Second Age

To the People of Nevaehlen,

Today marks the end of my third Elven Week as your Viridian Voice, and it has been an absolute honor to serve. Within this short amount of time, I have been able to accomplish a few things that I am quite proud of; achieving terms of peace with the Church of Canon and the Kingdom of Numendil, publishing official law, delving into danger in protection of the Balance. However, what I am not proud of is the possible disdain of my people.

Every hour of my every day is meticulously planned and packed, leaving me with little freetime to speak with you all as much as I would like to. While this is certainly a shame, I do not see this improving until much later, as I still have much to do with not enough time to do it. With all that still remains on my plate, I fear I do not have the time to meet with the Nevaehli individually to hear you all out - and this has caused tension. I hear whispers of unhappiness and contempt, and while I may not be able to meet with everyone in person, I would still wish to aid the Nevaehli as much as I possibly can. If I have done something to offend or anger someone, if I have done something to warrant grievances and concerns, I beg of you all now - send me a letter. It does not have to be signed, but I will read them all and do what I can do to resolve whatever issues you may have. 

In this same vein, I would like to shine a light on the councilors, the Heial’estel and Vira’estel, who without I would be unable to lead the Nevaehli. And it is leading that I do, a guide to the people of Nevaehlen, but never their ruler. I am no royal, no monarch, and I would never seek to be one. My voice is no more important than any other member of this nation, and my duty is no more grand than those of my fellow councilors. They are as devoted to the wellbeing of Nevaehlen as I, and would be honored to aid any of the Nevaehli people in what they need. I urge you all to call upon them as you do me, and allow them to do the job they have volunteered to do. I also come with a proposition: to add a seat onto the Vira’estel. An Elwelier, a Listener, who’s duty shall be to speak with the Nevaehli people when I do not have time to, and to aid myself, and any other member of the council, in working out grievances and addressing concerns. For this role, should it be voted in acceptance by the Nevaehli, I would personally recommend our Elder, Nenar Terin. They have an experienced wisdom few of us can rival, and do much for the people of Nevaehlen.

On a final note, I  ask the people of Nevaehlen for one last thing: patience. Just three elven weeks I have been Viridian Voice, and I have yet to fully adjust to my position and accomplish all the promises I have made. I still plan to do such, but I need the time to do it; the declaration of war by the Church and the many endeavours into the realm I have had to take have temporarily stalled my progress. I humbly ask of you all, do not push the bird out of the nest until she has had the time to stretch her wings. Otherwise, she would surely fail to take flight.

THE RETURN OF THE SIRAME

Revival of the Ancient Seeds

Posted on the 216th Year of the Second Age

To the people of Nevaehlen,

Before I became Chieftess of my own seed, the Vulnrith, I was a Chieftess of the Sirame Seed alongside my Haelun, Awaiti Sirame. The Sirame were created by her, named after Irrin Sirame, the mother of the Mali’ame. They are the Forestborn, devoted to faith and guidance, and known for becoming the most devout and educational priests. Their patron and ilmyumier are of Taynei’hiylu, the Green Dragon Spirit and Transcendent Druid. 

It is a beautiful and important Seed, full of history and wisdom for the next generation. After the unfortunate and tragic passing of Awaiti Sirame, the titles of Chieftain and Chieftess went to Oryl and Aedrie Sirame, until Awaiti’s own daughter Irrin Sirame became old enough to take the mantle herself. That time has come, and Irrin is now Chieftess, but she is currently traversing the wilds, as are Oryl and Aedrie. With the official permission of Chieftess Irrin Sirame, and Arle Sirame who is a long-standing member of the Seed, I shall be teaching about the Sirame Seed and giving out their trials. Those made Sirame under me will receive their ilmyumier, and will keep my Haelun’s Seed alive.

PERFORMANCE NIGHT

Beloved Nevaehli, soon a performance night together under the stars at the Limelight Terrace to celebrate creativity and talent will be held. Expect a night filled with stories, music, dance, and more, as our talented friends take the stage to share their gifts with us. Drinks and food will also be served!

This special gathering will be led by Kaleo for his seed trials, with the help of Liriana. The stage is open to all forms of expression—storytelling, music, dance, or even something unique to your spirit!

If you feel called to perform, please connect with Kaleo or Liriana. Spontaneous performances are cherished, but if you let us know ahead of time, we can help ensure your offering is prepared with care.

For the Restoration of the Isle

To the People of Nevaehlen,

To the north and west of our wilds lies crumbled ruins and valah agriculture in mass. Both are stifling the growth of Nature, and a reminder of how unchecked descendant intervention can harm the Balance. I plan to aid Nature in its cycle, by riding the oppressive stone in the north, and decreasing the greedy fields in the west. Native flora will be planted instead, and whatever Ame’lie trees take to the soil. I welcome anyone interested to aid me in my task. I’d love to hear your ideas on what flora we could plant.

THE SCHISM

“What was once a charitable people scattered like roaches into crevasse, clan, and cairn alike, seeking shelter in the places where none others go save for need. Mali’ wrought for themselves an existence of cruelty and mindless fear, despising each other within their hearts- for they each served as an eternal reminder of their fallen state. Their sire was gone and they were now hunted, surviving each day in huddled terror and abundant mistrust. 

Rue the day that wrath burned hotly enough in one of our kin’s bellies to spur them towards revenge. For as swiftly as a hand was raised to lash out in violence, we were damned to shrivel and die from within.”

     Words wrought of my mother’s memory, scribed above in a labor of love, leveled towards my kin. Mali’ of Nevaehlen, please, hear me and understand. The pamphlet pinned below  was delivered to several individuals, locations, and response-boxes. Each was written on my parchment, by my direction, and was cast forth by my bird.

     It was not my intention to feed into the vicious cycle of seclusion and exclusion, however. By no means did I expect real, sweeping banishments to come of this. The Vale of Nevaehlen is strong, and it will never fall prey to such ridiculous delusions. But that does not mean the sad reality it faces is any better, kin; it does not mean that this unequal, unorderly, unchecked status quo is any less threatening. A friend, a sister, a daughter of our community was cast out. Without a trial. Without the chance, even, to offer any goodbyes.

     Shortly after, we were warned off- by silent missive- from following in her footsteps. From associating with the banished and shunned, lest we suffer in kind. All the while, more brazen injustices were kept from the public eye. When shoved into view, these accusations were approached tepidly, bereft of the fervor their uglier nature demands. Few were capable of focusing on the raw truth of these issues, and instead took to the safety of hidden nooks. All too comfortable in their correctness. In not  having been named for their crimes, they assuredly found peace.

     It remained unknown to you all that Miven, our dear Matriarch and the leader who has given so much for us all, was likewise tied to the likes of Qard by way of binding contract. This is an issue no more, surely. The same might be said about many of the issues outlined in my pamphlets. But if Vinwë was judged for a folly so-old, and without a chance to appeal to her family, her community, where is the line drawn?

     These are my pleas, to my kin of Nevaehlen.

Do not cast eachother out into this wartorn, fetid land. We have cowered and readied ourselves in the face of repugnant Malinor’s threats. Do not pretend that the world is a safe place for a discarded Nevaehli, not now.

Do not allow your betters to levy judgment without your say. They must not pretend our community, our family, is unfit to take care of its own. Demand a right to trial.

Do not stand by and allow your wooden walls to be cast in silver, or pearl luster. The value of a community as ours is not in its uniformity. It is in the purity of our love. Abandoning a member of the family for their differences, as opposed to trying to help them improve, adapt, or teach you in turn, is a vile symptom of perverse arrogance.

     At this point, I know. Unity is only ever a lie fed to us by would-be tyrants or foolish idealists. We are fragmented as a people, and a heavy burden is set on us as a result. What few elven communities do exist, must be fair, and prosperous. If nothing else, I hope we can all agree on this.

Villager Task Board

First Task:

“A singular of wild boars has settled to the west of the Vale, having no natural predators they’ve began breaking the balance in nature around us. Hunt a couple of them, enough to bring back balance. Make sure nothing goes to waste, WE ARE NOT VALAH! - Yae’vel ”

• Craft five (5) Boar Tusk Spears and deliver them to the forge in the father circle.

• The task is due in 18 elven days. ((20th of October))

Second Task:

“Our leather supplies are running low, it seems like this stupid sky water has made it so we waste more than expected. Go out there and hunt responsibly. Bring back the leather, AND DON’T GET KILLED! - Nenar ”

• Hunt and skin different animals around the Vale, bring back their pelts to the forge in the father circle grove. ((Bring as much leather as you can!))

• The task is due in 18 elven days. ((20th of October))

Third Task:

“Several elven months ago I taught a few of you how to work Ikurn’Amonn, the sacred wood used by our Ancestors to defend themselves and settle down. The Vale is in need of quality weapons for its Rangers, prove you can work the wood. REMEMBER YOU NEED TO SING TO IT! - written by Medli, spoken by Miven”

• Craft five (5) Ironwood spears worthy of a Ranger of the Vale. Bring back the spears to the forge in the father circle grove. 

• The task is due in 18 elven days. ((20th of October))

Fourth Task:

“The Vale is growing, and with that so is the need for new journals so newcomers can do their trials. I trust there are capable people among you able to procure said journals for me. - Laedrad ”

• Procure 7 research Journals and bring them to the library.
