Thunk. Thunk. Thunk. Raziel’s hammer hit the metal several times, and the echoes could be heard above and within the expansive underground workshop of this Talonnii. Small golems hurry around him gathering metal and stones of all kinds. “Nobility consisting of literal rats,”  The Father of the Second Principality grumbled. What would she think about it, he wondered? Expectantly, he turned to one of his golems as if it could answer for her.  But of course, the Golem could not answer. After all, it was not even sentient.

Usually, he would use his magical skills to form the metal. But he used a hammer and chisel today,  for both the stone and the metal, he used raw physical strength. Nothing he really possessed anyway, after all he was a weak mage. But his anger began consuming him; he knew that all too well, and it was the proper way to let some steam off. He hoped it would cool his frustrations. Why did they even go for all this trouble?

Thunk, thunk, thunk. Again, his hammer fell on the metal. “Elven Lords marrying human peasants,”  his next accusation was cast towards the metal. The next strikes with his hammer were far more imprecise than they should have been. The Golem core he was crafting was far too cool by now anyway, to be shaped properly. He realized that far too late. Once he did it it is best to move the metal into the heat of the flame, to let it get that perfect red to orange glow. Thunk, thunk, thunk. He shifted his focus back to his smithing, and progress soon paid off. The Servitor’s core was shaped at last, even if hammered in violently. With arcane precision, he finished the far-too-rough edges to ensure the sigils would have the perfect shape.

He washed off the sweat from his forehead and stepped outside. Had the war Anorhil had talked about started yet? He could not tell.  At least it had not advanced to Celia’nor yet, he would have noticed that. He opened his news box, nothing was in there anyway -  besides a letter of Jarad he had quickly stuffed back in there. The audacity Jarad had, he thought. What did he pay several thousand Mina for? What did he serve for his entire life? What did he found the winery for, if not to restore the Ibarellan dynasty? 

Not for some irrelevant newcomer to ask him to pay taxes, that was for certain. His answer to the letter was simple and factual. He was tax-exempt after all. A simple, but sufficient gift for he had given up the rule willingly to restore the de jure dynasty. What would’ve happened if he had crowned himself? After all, he has had two opportunities for it. But he only laughed. His Royal Highness, Prince Raziel of Celia’nor? By the Stars, no. He hated that sound as much as the thought of betraying her family. After all, Ivarielle had given him nearly everything. Or at least, she had taught him everything, to his knowledge at least. Her philosophy. How an elf should behave.  Even what eye colors would indicate an impure, to her mind. Was he growing too old and far too proud? Raziel could not tell. But he had not asked for much, had he not? His own land to be untouched and to stay untaxed? He did not take more than he had when he gave Celia’lin to Illyria. No, he was in the right there, surely. Was it meant to be an insult? Or maybe Jarad was just too uninformed? He waved off,  letting that man no longer distract him.

He stepped a bit further outside, and the sun quickly cast its rays into his face. He was not used to it, and it took a few seconds for him to accommodate the sunlight. He looked around for any missus or likes that would indicate the beginning of the war. He suddenly remembered that it had started already, but so far, it was only Númendil and the Papal States retaliating against the invasion of Haeseni Mercenaries. Only now, after reading up a bit on what was pinned on the notice board, he realized that the whole situation had escalated into a continent-spanning conflict. It appeared the old Celia’norian allies would get revenge for Winburgh and Breakwater. To this day, he was upset about abandoning those he had fought alongside since his childhood. But he stayed silent on the matter regardless.

“TRANSGRESSIONS OF THE CURIA,” He read loudly, already starting to laugh. Why did they have to capitalize everything? He just knew this was the one. But surprisingly, there were far more names on the missive than he had expected. Haense did not care when Aaun was turned into the Papal States. But now states had bonded together to defend those who had not cared to defend them. Ironic.

And Celia’nor, too. So it was true, they had joined Haense’s failed invasion attempt. Could they turn the tides? Skimming the other missives, he soon realized that the other faction had grown significantly as well. His friends, Valindra, Anorhil, and Callahan were fighting his Celianorian people. Because they decided to defend the aggression of Haense. A loud sigh escaped him.

But in the end, he stumbled over a few lines. “The Puppeteering of Cauróst & Defense of House Nullivari,” At least it wasn’t capitalized. What nonsense, he thought.

Again, he began moving inwards, locking the door behind himself. They knew just as well as he that those were far more Ibarellan than Nullivari, by Celianorian customs - even if they did call themselves Ílumrin. Falsely claimed titles and other idiocy. The defamation of one’s own history and family for the gain of power. Oh, how far they had fallen, he thought.

But in the end, one thing caught his attention. One thing that was the last drop of water that would bring his barrel to overflow.

“Lineal Descendant of the Silver Phoenix?” Had he missed something, and had her mother Illyria married her cousin? Unlikely. Or maybe Iryne had lied about her parents? That made no sense either. Why would she suddenly be of Ivarielle’s line and not Illarion's? Or did the word lineal get a new meaning while he was in the depths of this workshop? Was she not the opposite of exactly that?

He could not take it anymore, he tossed away the missive and went back to his workshop. Once more, the hammers fell onto the anvil. Thunk, thunk, thunk. But one question remained on his mind:

Had everyone in Celia’nor gone mad, or was it just him?

Let it be known, from the Halls of House Amethil, bearers of vintages, masters of lore and smithwork: We seek skilled and noble-hearted Elves to join us in our labors. With careful trust, we call all that have skill in either sword, vine, or arcane arts to offer service and share honor with our house.

For those who do wish to become kin, we seek:

Guards, fearless individuals who, with pike and sword, well know how to defend our fields and cellars. Those who value bravery and loyalty above are more than welcome.

Winehands, those who are knowledgeable in the ways of vine cultivation and wine craftsmanship, being part of our tradition since the fall of the first Principality. We prefer experience, though any with a keen eye and steady hand may prove worthy.

Apprentices of the Void, individuals interested in learning the way of artificing magics, ready to serve under Lord Raziel’s guidance to learn the fragile weavings of magic in our elixirs, weaponry and artifacts. Humility and dedication are the sole entry requirements, for our craft is meticulous and deeply honored.

Let it however be known that our payment does not come in coin directly; but in tax-free lodging, food, equipment and kinship. We share what we have, and our large workshop equipped with all a craftsman desires is open to them. Those who work with us, will not have to fear for a place to be at home, or not to feel belonging. Yet let that not encourage you to sell the goods you have crafted with us - for there is plenty to gain from selling wine, arcanium, horses, leather, beef, weaponry, limbs and much more.

For those who do not wish to become kin, and wish to earn coin, we seek:

Suppliers, especially those who are capable of cheesemaking. With the demise of our last supplier due to his old age, we have sought a new one yet I found none so far. Prices will be negotiated in-person.

Vendors & Tavernkeepers, those who are willing to make profits by selling our wine far and wide shall be sold our wine at a large discount so they may sell it profitably to their customers.

Steady hands, willing to help out in the smithy by their mundane knowledge shall be paid 5 mina per session.

As a grand finale of the celebration, a ball shall be held to remember the foundation of Luci’lin Celia’sul, the Starlight Winery. To remember its central role in the restoration of Celia’nor, the visitors are asked to don colors of red, black, purple, yellow, and blue. More than a century ago our realm was founded by the hands of many who have passed since. The list of friends lost is long; longer than I can remember. Yet the Celia’nor and its denizens, many children of those founders of yore, are still here, living proof that what we had envisioned so long had set us on a righteous path.

We have overcome many trials, seen the destruction of our state by the hand of traitors and seen its restoration by true-hearted kinsmen and kinswomen. So let us celebrate our achievements and not linger in the past! And so, in the spirit of Ivarielle’s instructions, I invite the high society of the Celia’nor to a ball within my halls. Wear bright, joyous colors; for the day shall not be one of sadness, but one of pride.

Since the days of Fi’Andria, cursed pigeons have been an enemy of the Celian people. These are not your common city-dwelling birds that coo softly from rooftops; these are plagued pigeons, dark feathered and malevolent in their behavior, they carry a magical blight that devastates crops and sickens livestock. For years, the Celian people have lived in peace with pigeon-kind, yet now we must take arms against these cursed pigeons once more, just as Mythaldir did in Almaris.

A diverse array of scholars and peasant knights partook on a journey through the land of Celia'lin. Their quest: to offer knowledge and protection to the former citizens of Celia'nor . Although their pockets may have been holding naught, their hearts burned with determination to the task ahead. Proudly, they displayed the banners of their elderly house - the Ranaleth family. This symbol could signify foredanger or perhaps the dawn of a new era for both the people of Celia'lin and the Ranaleth family themselves. Furthermore, they mustered their iron strength and hearty passion for a bright future to aid in the building of a new elven settlement. It was not clear why such a forgotten family sought to return but at least their old home was found with gleeful waves of laughter and cheering moods but perchance still carrying a heavy and unknown burden upon their shoulders.

1. Sayings & Greetings

You are likely to encounter the following sayings or expressions within Celia'nor. Using them is an expression of knowledge of Celian tradition.

Stars welcome (you): A simple welcoming phrase used by well-educated Celians.

Stars guide you: A simple phrase you wish those that depart.

Stars!: Another curse used by educated Celians.

ilMaehr'sae Ilkun'ehya: "with knowledge and steel" - the philosophy of the celian 'aheral.

You aren't the brighest star in the veil, are you?: A rather cynical way to express another's low intellect.

2. Key believes

You are likely to realize that the Celian high elf isn't like another - they harbor a certain individualism. Yet, they are united by those following values, which largely stem from the Celian philosophy: ilMaehr'sae Ilkun'ehya.

Knowledge-seeking (maehr'sae): A good Celian is educated, often a voidal mage. They seek progress through knowledge and like to educate one another. They care for the arts just like the natural sciences. Astronomy and voidal magic is especially popular among the educated elite, as both represent the stars.

Militarism (ilkun): One who does not understand the value of the military is considered a fool who will never rise through the ranks nor gain social prestige. Scars for example, are seen as something of worth: They show one's endurance and will to survive.

Monarchism: The Celian Nation was founded upon what they deemed a failed democracy which led the High Elves into ruin. Hence, elections are something deeply frowned upon.

Meritocracy: The idea that those who work hard and behave properly should rise the ranks of society.

Decency: A proper Celian is well-behaved; one doesn't scream, doesn't fall to alcoholism and doesn't reveal overly much skin. They address their aristocrats as "Lord" or "Lady". Romantic decency is expected too - public kissing for example is frowned upon, sullying one's bloodline with non-High Elves is considered a severe crime.

3. Wine

While the Celian people had its taste for wine in Almaris already, the Starlight Winery in Aevos did its rest to turn the Celian people into vintner-folk. Many of them are educated on the craft, just like they are on the sale of wine, often seen selling their produce in Haense, Petra and Aaun.

  Tales of Origin

Following the tragedy of Almaris, remnants of a forgotten realm and its identity became scarce and dwindling - its citizens, following the travesties, having divided and scattered across the new continent while straying from their familiar paths. Their unfathomable circumstance incurred upon them scorned their very beings. Yet, to the surprise of many, they persevered in spite of the incessant yearning conscious that implored them to succumb to an array of intangible, yet torturous doubts that had intended to consume them in their entirety. Resembling their ancestors, the people of Celia’lin had not wavered in their resolve. With their devout manner, the Celians pursued the ever so faint whispers the stars bestowed upon them, in which they bore unrelenting devotion, for it was their destined light that would guide them in the seemingly never-ending abyss that was their momentary state of being. It was only thereafter that the citizens of Celia’lin were permitted the sanctity of reuniting once more with those they held dear. In light of this reconciliation, the people found their once renowned valor to be restored in heart, with this they found their believed to be lost spirit seemingly anew. In recourse to this revelation, the Celians began to persist as one through great loss in pursuit of restoring their beloved culture and sense of home so their fellow refugees may rediscover their destiny as fragments of a forgotten land that bears the potential to carry on the legacy of their ancestors, and with great intention to bestow their emblem of stars upon new lands residing in Aevos. Thus, the Protectorate of Celia’lin was formed - and with the rapid growth of their populace, it has become consequently evident that the public is in need of a militia force capable of ensuring safety, enforcing laws, and acting as their shield in times of crisis that may befall them. With the enforcement of Celia’lin’s Lady Protector, Illyria Ibarellan, we are graciously pleased to announce the formal creation of the Divadri - to be led and organized by Mordu’Lar Sylvin Cerusil.

The Divadri

The three main ranks of the Divadri

The Divadri’s true purpose consists of embodying the identity of being not only that of the sword of Celia’lin but its shield as well, for they are the true protectorates amidst times of duress and tranquility and shall place their lives at stake without the likes of plagued hesitance for the sake of their beloved land. The militia in question personifies this ideal with grand consistency and remains an exemplary symbol of unity whilst composed of those deriving from a variety of origins and varying upbringings which are to be embraced as one under the congruence of their blade. The Divadri of Celia’lin have and shall forevermore yield from the likes of prejudice in relation to their valiant warriors as this is a pledge deemed to ignite their comradery until they expel their final breaths and they join their forefathers amongst the stars. By virtue of their unwavering vows, the Divadri’s duty permits their irrefutable ability to secure the prosperity of the subjects whom they shield and serve within Celia’lin. Its guard force is to be recognized and categorized into a mere four ranks to limit congested complexity whilst permitting a large realm of growth for those in service to prevent stagnation within the ranks. The aforementioned positions are as follows:


I. The Fiyem - An initial cadet to the force. They are seen as the youthful among the Divadri and are closely observed with mindful vigilance whilst trained so that they may be honed in the requisite skills needed whilst in service of Celia’lin. The Fiyem are the most common amongst the ranks, making up the majority of the Divadri’s forces.

II. The Diraar - Diraar are considered senior to the Fiyem, having proven themselves through dedication and valiance within their practice permitting them the ability to don the red robes which the Divadri adorn themselves with, as a symbol of their insatiable pride for their realm. Although they are not officers and bear no official or substantial authority over the Fiyem. The Diraaar are often personified as illustrations for the Fiyem to follow, as their experiences serve as an example of the growth they shall incur whilst within the Divadri.

III. The Piraar - The Piraar are senior officers to the likes of the Diraar who have pledged themselves to the banner for a prolonged period of time and have shown their exemplary abilities to be an entity unworthy of doubt among their peers as well as the Mordu’lar. The Piraar are tasked to manage and oversee the soldiers of the Divadri as an aid to the Mordu’Lar in establishing a vigorous sense of command and order among the ranks. 

IV. The Mordu’Lar - Presides as the leader of the Divadri, responsible for carrying out the vision of security Celia’lin requires, whether it be grand or minuscule. The Mordu’Lar ensures promises and enacts the wishes of the Council in their entirety. They act as the appointed protector not only that of the history, but the unforeseen future of Celia’lin whilst presiding as the designated commanding voice of the Protectorate’s authority - trusted to adhere the highest of responsibilities in the representation of the realm’s military prowess.

With hearts filled with glee, it is our greatest joy to announce to you, the coming of age of our youngest daughter, the Midnight Moon Princess of Vikela, Raeliana Kamari Viola.

 As the princess turns 18 we cordially extended our honoured invitation to you fellow readers,  friends of family and allies, to join us on this momentous occasion to celebrate as the princess makes her debut.

This momentous occasion shall take place at the Starlight Winery in the most Serene state of Lurin.

In the spirit of the oem’ii’s birthday we invite everyone to indulge themselves with the elegance and grace of the coming of age dance. We welcome someone to ask for the princess’s hand in dance, to officially start the night off while surrounded by the beauty of nature and the calm cool breeze. 

Following the start of the whimsical night a grand feast shall be held, for everyone in the starlight winery, while bards are encouraged to play to their heart's content all while saving their energy for the next grand event.

The last event of the night after the cake is served to all, a game of murder mystery, will someone be able to figure out the clues to whom the killer may be, but be sure to make haste the longer you be the more victims they shall take, and of course every good game comes with a price, will you be this games winner? We shall see. 

All are invited but please remember to bring a good heart and mind. Conflict and fighting will not be allowed, this is meant to be a fun and welcoming event, so please come without ill intent.

A Guide to the Village of Celia’lin

Home of the Celian People

The Village

Starting off as a little winery with white walls, purple roofs, a yellow tree and a pond in which the ducks quacked once more was established a mere two years ago by a few Celian Settlers. Yet soon, this small winery turned into a village, with many Celianorians making their way there. Many of them nostalgic of their old home Fi’Andria, these elves soon created a small community.

Most people within the village pursue wine-, juice- or drinkmaking as well as farming. Often they will venture outside their little village to sell their goods. Typically, they make their way to Petra, Haense and Aaun, where they strike deals with the local human population.

The Village of Celia’lin is located in the Most Serene State of Lurin, easily to be found on the way from Aaun towards Lurin. The white houses and purple roofs are hard to miss amongst the small vineyards surrounding the village.

Celian Folklore: The Deer of Fi’Andria

80 years ago, the Starlanders established Fi’Andria, on the western shores of Almaris. Ever since a strange occurrence has followed them: The Deer of Fi’Andria. While none has ever truly grasped its nature it has been found to be immensely long lived. It was first seen attracting settlers after around a year of the establishment of the Celian Capital.

It had not been sighted for 40 years; yet upon the establishment of Celia’lin, the “Starhome” it appeared once more. It jumped around happily amongst those gathered to listen to Ailer Anordal; quite to his own dismay. Several theories have been established regarding its origins:

1. Upon the suggestion of a local druid, some believe it to be a mani, a greater spirit of the wild. Due to its connection it despises the unnatural powers of the void. Such seems befitting as the deer disappeared around the time the Celian Tear must have been created and started revisiting the Celian People once they had settled in Celia’lin, this time free of a voidal rift. However, an elder druid had remarked that no such mani was known, rendering the theory a mere myth by a trickster druid.

2. Yet others expect it to be a strange and new spirit gifted by the greater powers to guide the Celian people and morally support them during times of peril, with some Celianorians claiming its “Nyeh!” sounds would calm and inspire them deeply, almost touching their very souls.

3. Many however disregard those theories and simply claim that the deer is what it is: A deer that follows after the Celian people, likely contributed to the fact that the tree bark of the golden Trees of Fi’Andria have a high nutritional value and apparently quite liked by deers in general.

No matter what is true, in the end one thing can be certain: The Deer of Fi’Andria will always be a blessing when it visits the Celian people.

A new Owl spreads its wings

While adoption have been the rare expectation within the Ibarellan Talonnii, it has happened before. Such has my haelun decreed, that A’oejella may take her name for her great services to Celia’nor. And so I wish to announce that due to her integral role in raising Raziel from the age of six, his unwavering dedication to preserving our legacy, it is fitting that an elf who has fought for our family's honor throughout his entire life now bears our name - as my son.

With the Vineyard of the Celian people, named the “Starlight Winery” becoming more and more popular with every day and many more lost Starlanders making their way home, it is our honor to announce that our official opening is to be conducted on the 6th of the Grand Harvest, 144 SA.

When Fi’Andria was destroyed, four seeds of the Golden Trees were saved. With the Celian people having found a home once more, they shall be planted by Aywinn Ibarellan.

Starlight Ball (2:05 PM EST)

To properly celebrate the opening of the Winery & Village, a dance in the Village’s Meeting-Hall shall happen. Suggested colors are red & black.

During all times of the evening a variety of wines are offered for free for tasting.

“Mr. Stars”

Lurin, 142 SA

Raziel stood amidst the square of Lurin, pondering. Over his life, his idleness, his failures and regrets. He lacked purpose and direction, the willingness to do something. And he knew that. Talar'nor, the state that rose to replace Raziels homeland, Celia'nor was a ghost town. And that too, he knew. The Wynasuls, in their folly, did the thing Ivarielle warned most of: To turn Celia'nor into something it was not. And Ivarielle remained right with her judgement once more. His decision to support the Wynasuls in their mistake haunted him. It was a mistake, and that too he had realised. He thought of his talk with Thelia, who had urged him to do something; even if she did not know, what exactly.

With his gaze and thoughts empty it took him a while to notice the small dark elven child named Dasyra trying to get his attention. The conversation was rather idle, he falsely deemed it of little value for himself. Yet at the end of their conversation, the child yelled: “Bye, bye, Mr. Stars!” The careless nickname she had given him stuck in his head; occupied his thoughts. Mr Stars, is what she called him. He went his way, to lay down under a tree - unsure what to do yet. Raziel then quickly faded off into a dream from the tiring day. It was when he woke up, that he knew what to do. He looked at his arcane focus, a staff he made long ago in the style of his mentor's, and read its silvery inscription aloud: ay’Celia’nor. And so he made a decision:

The time of inaction was over.

Raziel held Ivarielle's old missive: To distant lari'onnan and mal'onnan. It was the very missive she had sent to gather her forces of the Silver Princedom, the entity that would become Celia'nor one day. Questions roamed through his head. Loudly, like screaming voices the pounded onto his consciousness.

"Will I fail, like Veralya?"

"Will they accept me to lead them, until the Ibarellan return?"

"Was it all a farce, or will the Ibarellan return?!"                                                                                                                             

                             "Can I right those wrongs?"

Thus, once more an elf would send letters to distant lari’onnan and mal’onnan. Yet this time, not to overthrow a state, but to create a prospering vineyard where the little remnants of his people may dwell. And so, the idea of the Starlight Winery formed…

The Establishment of the Starlight Winery

79 years ago, the Starlanders established Fi’Andria, on the western shores of Almaris. While this New Hope only lasted a mere sixty years it was a place many still remember fondly. Today, another fourteen years later we announced the establishment of the Starlight Winery; A place of commerce in the style of Fi’Andria. A little winery with white walls, purple roofs, a yellow tree and a pond in which the ducks shall quack once more.

Thus we invite all those who, like us, miss the lovely scenery of Celianorian Fi’Andria to visit or even join us in our business of wine, juice and many other drinks. The land we bought within the Lurin is vast enough to host more ideas and plans in coordination with the Silver Lubba.
