From Barrowton, to the Exilic Kingdom of Númendil, and now the High Kingdom of Idunia, the lifelong burden of Knighthood has been writ through the ages - a ‘sacred office’ enforced by divine expectation and public security, where both men and women carry the expectations of chivalric honor, a duty to the innocent and undying loyalty to Aeradar; GOD. These Knights of the High Realm are not the mundane soldiers of the Idunian Host, but are honoured beyond their station or title. They are, more importantly, recognized for their prowess, perseverance, and conviction – the sacrifice – in which a Knight takes in their pursuit. To swear the sacred promise, to maintain the legacy of Ser Uther Pendraic with the Idunian Code of Chivalry, is to not only speak the words, but to live and adhere to it as a privilege and a responsibility. 

Worthiness does not only lie in the likes of a gauntlet clutching a blade, but in their deeds, words, and character. Etched into the threads of time are these deeds known by heart and word of mouth, but have yet to be recorded into tomes, or officially placed into the archives of the High Kingdom’s Records in full. And while word of mouth can only do so much, there is a permanence, an impact in pressing ink to parchment, in bearing witness to these trials and triumphs, in understanding these arms that our Knights have verily upheld. In this do we find inspiration and direction in duty – to know the past and present, and to carry it forward for generations. Thus, tasked and inspired, on request of His Royal Majesty,  Tar-Pharazôn Auranion Harren Arthalion, do we record these devoted legacies of the Knights of the High Kingdom: to honor and recognize them, to share their stories, to inspire.

Distinguishing themselves from the broader Knights of Idunia, Thalion Knights represent an elite and sacred order – embodying valor, disciplines, and faith. In such, are these knights committed to the service of the High Kingdom of Idunia and its principles, wherein honor is of paramount importance. These knights undergo the Rite of Ascension, a rigorous and often perilous trial designed to test the limits of the candidate’s strength, resolve, and devotion, ensuring that only those who demonstrate steadfast determination and perseverance are permitted to join the ranks. And so, are these sword Knights paragons of faith and martial prowess, excelling beyond the mundane soldier.

Ser Angruth Dionadair-Glennmaer is a Knight recognizable for his independence and steadfast initiative, often guiding those within the Host on patrols against Darkspawn that lurk on the borders of the realms. Instilling the standards of knighthood, Ser Angruth emphasizes that both faith and knighthood go hand-in-hand, learning from his early life in squirehood the importance of holding both faith and valor, akin to a shield and a sword. Well-known for his efforts amongst the Order of the Dawn during Orsathiel’s Siege on Tir-Glas, many responded to his resourceful and adroit wit, aiding in the success of defending the seat of the House against all odds. Mentored and squired under Ser Heledd Glennmaer, currently, Ser Angruth Dionadar-Glennmaer takes precedence in being a part of the Church and world of Knighthood alike, mentoring his current squire, Finch Hartwyck.

Established as the successor of the Order of the Pyre, the Order of the Dawn serves at the primary levy and knightly protector of Garenbrig, within the High Kingdom of Idunia. Dedicated to guarding the “good green earth” and its people from dark threats, the Order of the Dawn follows a strict dogma centered on the Word of Aeradar, the Code of Chivalry, and the relentless lifelong campaign of hunting beasts and darkspawn alike to safeguard and protect the innocent. Furthermore, are these knights recognized for their blessed boons, gifted with the Blessing of Malchediael alongside Druidism amongst their Verdants. A military force and spiritual vanguard, the Order of the Dawn reflects unto the realm a new light that casts upon the shadows,  that indeed will there be dawn again upon the horizon.

“Compassion backed with a blade. It is as our forebears intended, and how the scrolls dictate.” Bade Ser Llewyn-Hirrovan Glennmaer, a knight known for his devotion, martial prowess, and wit, in addition to his zeal – Hailing as the son of one of Idunia’s founding Houses, the Patriarch of House Glennmaer began a revolutionary standard in being the first Druid-Knight of the Host of Idunia, doctoring the practice into the Realm whilst remaining faithful to the teachings of Aeradar. Recognized for aiding in the slaying of the Gilded Queen with Tar-Zôrzagar Arthalion, and was shortly after Knighted as a Holy Ser and Deacon by the Cardinal Nerium. In saving the life of his predecessor and heir, Sascha Glennmaer, during Orsathiel’s Siege of Petra, his combat skills were refined through solitary training—reflecting a deep dedication and steadfast loyalty to the knight’s burden. Taking upon many a squire, such as his eldest son, Alwyn III, who had laid to rest, Ser Llewyn-Hirrovan continues his legacy through the founding of the Order of Verdants, reflecting Aeradar’s creation and light through nature and his current squires, Aled-Aeghad Rhys Glennmaer and Mereid Callaghan, whilst also teaching the Path of a Verdant to Prince Vardamir Auranion Harren Arthalion.

The pursuit of Knighthood was one that Ser Safiyaa-Yavanna Vourkehardt Glennmaer sought in early childhood, descending from House Vourkehardt, who had sewn roots into the Idunian Host, as early as the Exilic Kingdom of Númendil. Aspiring to follow her kin, whilst facing many a struggle of loss and grief and going through many a Knightly Mentor, such as Ser Griffith Glennmaer, perseverance to be a ‘Knight of the People’ is what drove this Verdant-Knight to take a seat as a Warden of the Verdant Order. Recognized for her efforts in the Battle of Westmark and the pursuit of Roger, after her beloved suffered a scaring ailment by the likes of a knife, for her active service during the Sieges of Orsathiel, to her teachings of the Verdant Order, to reflect the compassion of Aeradar’s cycle of life and death, Ser Safiyaa-Yavanna is a knight who devotes herself to the hearts of the High Kingdom of Idunia, emphasizing the need to prioritize the needs of the populace first and foremost rather than the likes of title or rank above all. Devotion, love, and sacrifice are what bind her legacy– one who fights so that others may endure. Currently, Ser Safiyaa-Yavanna takes on the priority of teaching those in Verdancy, most especially her current and first squire, Lukas von Theonus, who aspires to join her in the Order of Verdants in the future.

Unwavering in devotion, dedicated to the Templar’s Path since youth, Ser Viago Vitalius Vourkehardt takes precedence in being granted the title of High Justiciar from his predecessor, Ser Alwyn II Glennmaer, after devoutly serving Malchediael, seeking the vocation of knighthood, instilled the noble virtues of temperance, diligence, justice, and courage by his father, Patriarch of House Vourkehardt: Ser Baldric Vourkehardt. With utmost zeal and embodying Malchediael’s dogma, truly so has Ser Viago Vitalius shaped himself into the paragon of Templar-Knights, recognized as the Knight of the Searing Flame for his endurance and precision in martial practice, to his commitment to the Order of the White Tower, having met the Patron of Templarism, aiding in unbinding recognised for freeing Malchediael from his madness. Still, does Ser Viago Vitalius’ ingrain his principles of his years of studying Malchediael’s creed and dogma, reflecting these ideals unto his students, such as Dame Saelind-Elwine Vourkehardt and Ser Castamir-Entamar Mithrenion, continuing to prepare those for the arduous Path of the Templar.

Finding purpose within her youth upon seeking Knighthood due to the absence of her parents, Ser Heledd Calathan Glennmaer found her fervour for the Path of Knighthood through the mentors who took root within her life – Ser Glwyndwr Glennmaer and, once, Prince and Ser Arathor Arthalion, swearing to be steadfast, stubborn, and determined to be dedicated to her duties and in her combat. Seeking guidance from her mentors, as well as those of House Glennmaer, such as Ser Griffith Glennmaer and Ser Alwyn II, her martial prowess and capabilities were honed much in her youth, sustaining burns from an Azdrazi within its Lair, whilst protecting Prince Arathor from a harrowing fate. In recognition of her bravery, for bearing her scars of service and sacrifice, she distinguished herself through these acts of courage in many wars, such as the War of the Orsathiel’s Mountain, the Dreadlands, and the Robertine Crusade. Remaining committed to her selfless duty, Ser Heledd has produced two notable Knights from their squirehood, Ser Îlmarion Callaghan and Ser Angruth Glennmaer.

Marked with revelation through what suffering she had borne in her childhood, her resolve was steeled after an encounter with a demon, as an unshakable conviction formed from her moment of terror, to not only merely become a knight but to embody the hope through what understanding of courage she had gained from her experience. Proving her resolve through acts of service through the Radiant Guard on Aevos, standing against the forces of Orsathiel in times of great peril, these campaigns affirmed her commitment to protect the innocent and the preservation of those who suffered the Mountain’s terror, reflecting the same hope she had fostered as a child, hoping to endow it unto others. Mentored by Ser Arthur Marsyr, she reflects much of the same heart that the Knight of the Radiant Heart carries, continuing to embody hope as living proof that even in suffering, faith in deliverance can endure and can manifest through action. At present, Dame Saelind-Elwine follows the Path of the Templar, aspiring to hone Malchaediael’s flames upon her blade, under the mentorship of her father and High Justiciar, Ser Viago Vitalius Vourkehardt.

Influenced by the knightly House of Callaghan, from his adoption following in the enduring example of their martial tradition, he came to revere the ideals of chivalry under the witness of the Patriarch of the House, Ser Kieran Callaghan, who often departed for campaigns against Orsathiel’s Mountain, sparking a lasting admiration and devotion to serve as a Knight of Idunia. This early admiration matured into pagehood under Ser Boromir Mithrenion, where he cultivated both martial discipline and the morals befitting a knight. Furthermore, did it push him toward decisiveness and selflessness, in which, even as a page, he engaged a ghoul without hesitation with the aid of the Tar-Pontiff Anorhil Arthalion, defending the innocents of Alduun’s denizens in the process. Progressing into squireship, under the mentor of Ser Heledd Glennmaer, he had completed many of his deeds, demonstrating his readiness and initiative to serve and safeguard those of the realm.

Serving as the dedicated military and civil backbone of the Lordship of Angrenost and a bastion of “iron-bound fortifications”, the Order of the Silver Stag was founded by the Mithrenionath lineage, the Guard, acting as a watchful sentry along the northern approaches of Alduun, ensuring that all threats are neutralized long before they reach the heart of the realm. These Knights of Angrenost serve much as magistrates and are held to the rigorous standards of the Idunian Code of Chivalry. Bound by a sacred Oath of Service sworn before Aeradar, they commit themselves to a life of temperance, vigilance, and brotherhood – where their philosophy emphasizes that authority is worthless without honor, a banner held high where those of their Order flourish behind a shield of disciplined steel.

Some believe that it takes great power to keep evil at bay, but I have found otherwise: it is the everyday acts of those who endure and refuse to yield that hold it back.”

Shaped by hardship and the discipline of survival, Ser Boromir Orodrion Mithrenion is a warrior of Idunia who had served for many years as a guard, only coming to a silent reverence for those who followed the Knightly Path, only pursuing it himself in his later years, believing that a man may become greater than the origins from which he came from. Influenced by many mentors such as Ser Nathannenel Mithrenion, Ser Arthur Marsyr, and Ser Griffith Glennmaer, he eventually was taken into squirehood under Ser Runagleth Ruthron, though she came to death a few years later, he rose into Knighthood through perseverance, rather than distinction, through experience rather than natural talent. While he does not define his legacy through singular acts of battlefield glory, he instead holds himself to the work he had built for Angrenost: the formation of the Iron Guard, and later on the Order of the Silver Stags. Grounded in duty, humility, and unwavering adherence to the Errant Code, he holds a legacy to provide for others what he had not – a place to belong, a purpose to follow, and a chance for those to forge a legacy greater than their beginnings. Currently, Ser Boromir Orodrion continues his legacy through his squires, notably the High Chancellor of Idunia, Medliel-Isilmë Mithrenion, and Talaeris Goldmaer.

A knight of loss and rebirth, once named the southern prince, Hadrian, he was cast aside by his own blood, abandoning the title and identity in search of a greater truth, hence taking the name Nathannenel, meaning “God-saved,” as he set out not only to redefine himself, but to bring others from the darkness to light. Driven in part by love and in part by conviction, he believed to truly begin again, he must start by leading others as he was, by his Knightly Mentor, and Prince of Númendil, Prince Aranuir Arthalion. During an attack on the White City in Aevos, taking arms with great and startling ferocity, an act of courage deemed him a worthy knight, taking the epithet of “Hero,” and yet even in this elevation did the Knight aspire to do more than the mundane. Upon an attack with the Princess of Númendil, Lominzel Arthalion, holding nothing more than a hunting knife, he fought not for glory nor survival, but the protection of his beloved, finding clarity in his purpose as a knight to hold his devotion for others. A knight of chosen purpose, he strives not to be merely remembered as a ‘hero’ but as a Warrior of Malchediael: one who fights so that those who have fallen may rise again into the light.

An identity forged by the likes of training beside the brazen bonfire of Malchediael, he spent his childhood attuning his heartbeat to the rhythm of the flames, raised on heroic stories and tales of Númenetar by his grandfather, Prince Aranuir Arthalion. Sparking a dream that anchored his path to squirehood, his father and mentor Ser Nathannenel Mithrenion took it upon himself to train his son as he continued to live his life through three creeds: the Dogma of Malchediael, the Legend Carver Legend, and the Code of Chivalry. Alongside his wife, Dame Saelind-Elwine Vourkehardt, he dedicated his journey to continue his forebearers' legacy to leave the High Kingdom and the realms in a better state than they were. Notably, Ser Castamir-Entamar is recognized for his resilience and zeal, having fought Orsathiel’s Mountain to the bitter and gruesome end, verily risking his life. Furthermore, did he survive a month-long captivity, during which he mustered the strength to rescue his twin sister, Medliel-Isilmë Mithrenion, and Uthyr Marsyr from their own captivity in Waldemar. Presently, Ser Castamir-Entamar Mithrenion instills his passion and fervour into his squire, Mersilme Esmarie Wynterborne, whilst pursuing his aspiration to bear the flames of Malchediael through Templarism.

VETERAN OF THE WAR OF THE MOUNTAIN

Distinguishing herself as a young adult by connecting to the Heart of Courage and Soul of Enlightenment, Ser Mîrthiel Seojin Sîdhrion, with her exceptional martial prowess and strict adherence to the Chivalric Code, allowed her to achieve the rank of Templar before becoming a formal Knight of the Realm under the mentorship of Ser Viago Vitalius Vourkheardt. Deeply devoted to the Aengul of Enlightenment, Jophiael, she initially styled herself as a Hedge Knight while living out her divine vocation. Eventually, she sought formal knighthood from the Crown, a choice made to bring lasting honor to her ancestors. Reputed for her physical strength against a Pale Lord, using only her gauntlets to crack the giant’s stone knee, to her devout service as a priestess of the realms, Ser Mîrthiel Seojin never fails to pray for the soul of the fallen deceased, continuing to wield her glaive in the name of Aeradar, viewing every precise strike as a necessary act to purify the land and restore it to holiness. Though a formidable Knight of great martial skill, she places much emphasis on healing others, not only by the cleansing and purging of her blade, but within their souls through the faith.

Forged in the rugged tradition of the Barrowlands, the beginning of the High Kingdom’s legacy, Ser Griffith “Agaratheran” Glennmaer ascended to knighthood through a baptism of blood and unyielding Adunian resolve. Guided by not only his grandfather, Ser Alwyn I, but also the Tar-Uther Pendraic Arthalion himself, Griffith spent eleven gruelling years learning the difference between the true Knight and soldier. His mettle was tested at the gates of Old Reinmar, where tides of darkspawn threatened to swallow the innocent, fending them off despite the likes of being blinded in one eye by a warlock. Ser Griffith refused to fall, bathed in blood and sweat, cutting down three of the abyss-born horrors, safeholding the townspeople behind city walls. Of supreme valor, he was granted the boon of Malchaediael and is known as one of the few to ascend Orsathiel’s Mountain. A battle-scared sentinel, carrying the legacy of many a generation, Ser Griffith continues to extend the teachings of Templarism, whilst taking on a squire, Goose Hartwyck.

Fierce and unyielding, a chant of “Our Blood Over All”, the Knightly Order of the Green Haven serves as protectors of the faith, as moral arbiters, who uphold both iron discipline and chivalric grace. Bound to the Ildonic Code, these tenets prioritize their loyalty to protect the innocent and the pursuit of martial excellence above all personal gain. Measuring a Knight’s identity by their willingness to bleed for their kin and the High Kingdom, the Order of the Green Haven remains a steadfast shield, dedicated to a legacy where the sacrifice of the few ensures the survival and glory of many.

HIGH ADMIRAL OF THE IRON NAVY ⭑ KNIGHT OF THE RADIANT HEART

Courageous, spirited, and valiant, Ser Arthur Indocar Marsyr takes the forefront of being the current High Admiral of the Iron Navy, introducing and instilling  House Marsyr’s naval aptitude and expertise within the Host of Idunia. Known as the Knight of Radiant Heart, Ser Arthur takes pride in being the first to assemble the first naval fleet of Númendil, taking charge of finding the lands and transporting their denizens to the land that the  High Kingdom of Idunia has settled upon, from Aevos to Azuras. Making emphasis on the likes of Aeradar being his guide and with whom a Knight should walk and journey, Ser Arthur reflects the true heart of a knight, often reciting with conviction: “Ahdtó súé bí gwír”, – “And above all, to thine own self be true.” The High Admiral presently focuses on the formation of the Iron Navy, continuing to carve a path upon rippling waters and dangerous seas, whilst mentoring his eldest son, Uthyr Marsyr, and allowing his second son, Earendur Marsyr, to help captain their fleets. The Marsyr has a current successor who has succeeded into knighthood, Dame Saelind-Elwine Vourkehardt.

Revived following the dissolution of the Order of St. Peter, the Ordre du Petrine Laurel serves as the sovereign knightly body of the Commonwealth of the Petra, dedicated to the protection of the Petran Royal Family and the defense of the defenseless. A beacon of Canonist virtue and scholarly achievement, those of the Order are organized into three chapters: the Rapids, the Brooks, and the Waves, encompassing the character of what it means to be a Knight of this Order. Blending militarism, spiritualism, and civil service, the Petrine Laurel serves as an integral pillar of the Petran Government and the greater High Kingdom of Idunia.

Following the lineage of his family, to honour and uphold the core ideals of chivalry and mercy, Sir Therin Thelonius Adil Temesch is a knight who, under the mentorship of Sir Artair von Theonus and Dame Rowena, believed that the Path of the Knight does not merely reside in the blade, but in the kindness they carry, and the path they carve out for others. In such a way does this kindness speak for itself, retaking the capital city of Vallagne after the forces of Orsathiel’s mountain, a collective resilience of Petra’s people, of soldiers and healers alike. Beyond the grander scale of war, Sir Therin Temesch finds his greater purpose in the quiet acts of service, in compassion, and safeholding the innocent, whether it is tending to a maimed elf child or providing life-saving potions to a girl struggling to breathe. These moments of care and attention to the hopeless breathe life into those who may seek its light, knowing that these actions are just as vital as any victory, leading those with a balance of leadership and empathy. Currently, does the Knight Captain hold his legacy to two squires, Siegfried von Schwanstein and Sylfrid Colborn.

Be smart of  your next step as it shall be calculated with your victory and the safety of your people.”

Whilst the pursuit of knighthood was followed in family tradition, what distinguishes Sir Thomas von Theonus stems from a distinct path, demonstrating that Voidal Magic could be harnessed for the greater good of the Petra, the Church, and the High Kingdom of Idunia. Under the tutelage of Sir Rowan Tesecar and Sir Atticus, he followed the path of the magical arts to become a formidable guardian of his nation, demonstrating his power and the use of such magic during the defense of his Duchy during the Mountain’s siege, single-handedly decimating a bandit raid that forced its chains to rattle in retreat and fear. With much tactical skill, he was able to redirect enemy cannonballs and siege bolts back into their own lines, in addition to intercept and incinerate an enemy’s ship that sought to attack Petra,  earning the reputation of “the Killer of Raiders”. Beyond this does the knight holds a much more caring hand, paired with his martial prowess, serving as the Commonwealth’s primary alchemist and lead physician. Sir Thomas redefined the use of Voidal Magic as a Knight of the Realm, showcasing not only the fervour and passion befitting a chivalric knight, but too the steadiness of hand for the innocent. Presently, Sir Thomas von Theonus mentors many students, such as Dame Lian Catherine of Astor, Sir Silas Hart Sturm Stafyr, Elvar, Dame Magdalena Anastasya, and  Azriel Morningstar.

Driven by his profound love for the Commonwealth of the Petra and a steadfast commitment to justice, Sir Dietrich Otto von Theonus distinguishes himself as a knight of selfless service and a guardian who prioritizes the lives of others above his own. Mentored by the stalwarts Sir Arth and Sir Therin, he vowed to become a shield in every sense – most especially during Orsathiel’s Siege of Vallagne, being a literal barrier on the ramparts, to be the metaphorical sanctuary for peace for those who may be paralyzed by fear. A defender of the innocent is what Sir Dietrich aimed to be, a protector of those who may not be able to stand on their own, to be their shield against a barrage of arrows. Notably, Sir Dietrich is recognized for his valor upon the West Wall of Vallagne, standing defiant against the Mountain’s siege against demonic archers that outnumbered them with the aid of Joseph of Riviense and Magdelena Valkonen, charging first before them to cover and protect them. A knightly example of a knight sworn to safeguarding, Sir Ditrich passes on these principles to his current squire, Bjorn.

Descending from the mystical halls of Hohkmat, Sir Rowan Lugh Tesecar rose from a fragile childhood, rising from a dream to become the living bridge between the arcane magics and the knightly path. Inspired by his own father’s dreams of grandeur, he set out and was thus mentored by Dame Monika Stafyr to prove that the ‘evil’ nature of the arcanes was but a shadow that yields to a virtuous heart. Recognized for his efforts during a weeks-long hunt for a colossal griffin in the freezing North, while many soldiers and civilians fell to its ferrum-sharp talons, it was Sir Rowan’s stone spikes and fire blasts that brought the terror to its knees. This persistence and prowess shine within the Commonwealth, verily being one of the few Mage-Knights to master all four Elemental Evocations. Whilst upholding the Chivalric Knight’s Code, Sir Rowan is as much a scholar as a warrior, dedicating decades to the Redquill and People’s University to ensure that the next generation carries the light of the arcane. An unbreakable bulwark, Dame Elowyn swiftly rose into the formidable rank of Knight-Inquisitor of the Petra. Instilling hope, to carve out paths for others to prove their merit and worth, Dame Elowyn mentors Ansel of the Petra.

Serving as the ‘living bulwark’ and spiritual guardians of the Adrian people, the Turtle Knights of the Ivory Tower was established by Sir Jan Euler, distinguishing their militia from their distinctive, cumbersome steel turtle shells and heavy plate armor that prioritizes defense over mobility. Following the ‘Way of the Turtle’, the Order of the Ivory Tower emphasizes spreading hope, protecting the shell-less, exercising diplomatic patience and maintaining deep humilty are what defines a Knight beyond the ordinary soldier. These knights often utilize unconventional tools, including alchemical wonders and ranged weaponry to defend the sanctity of Aeradar’s creation – embracing the life where one’s own name is never sung, but embodying the slow and steady protection of the innocent.

A radiant paradox upon the battlefield, and a knight who masterfully plays the fool to spark smiles within the darkest of hours of wielding a blade, Sir Baudemund “Dagóriôn” Euler swings his with much precision and skill, moving through the chaos of war with unyielding hope. In a display of martial brilliance, Sir Baudemund is recognized for his action during the War of the Mountain, felling one of Orsathiel’s Commanders during the final siege upon Aevos, in addition to standing against a tide of Dwarven and Orcish steel, before the gates of Urguan, cutting down scores of foes. Serving as a living heart of his order, Sir Baudemund Euler is a man who understands that true liberation requires both the strength to crush a tyrant and the grace to mend those broken of spirit with a smile. Currently, does the knight continue his legacy through his first squire, Adelbert Wick.

THE SCAR UPON THE WORLD

As the tear in the world flooded the surrounding silver woods with abysmal life force. Nature screamed in agony as life around the rift began to wittle,  decay, and corrupt. The Darksworn Reikonor rose once again and with it the Legion of Darkoath. Hexwraiths rose in power–the Darksworns generals–they led their own portion of the legion each with their own objectives to complete. The realm of the living would fall into chaos once again, as more and more undead sightings begin to appear across Azuras. 

The High Kingdom of Idunia would be no different, surrounded already by the accursed emberrest forest–home to many cults, apparitions and feral corcitura–undead have begun to rise in numbers. But something was different, their bones would be darkened, black veins pulsing with abyssal magik. They dawned armor and necrotic weapons, imbued with dark magik to cause cancerous wounds. It seemed as if something terrible was about to occur, something that would begin a battle that has been fought since millennia.

THE VISION

Within the Idunia Capital, the Templars of Malchadiel would go about their daily tasks, most were either out patrolling or honing their skills.  

In an open area within the Temple of Malchadiel, Adûnakhor and Ser Valanor  were training together. They were brothers-in-arms  who had fought alongside each other many times. As they began to channel their holy magic their swords began to glow a warm light when suddenly they both noticed something was off. A small sharp pain struck their psyche, pulling them both into a vision. 

Their perception began to blur as the world around them suddenly was washed away. They barely had time to react before being pulled into their psyche. 

After a few seconds they recognized that there were deep within the emberrest forest, the vision cut through the dense fog before darkened undead in armor came into view, they were armed with blackened weaponry that dripped with black ichor, it seems they were guarding a group of necromancers circling an altar while chanting a dark mantra.  The black speech irritated the Templars as they listened to the accursed tongue of the damned. The surrounding trees would be decorated with hanging dead peasants as the necromancers channeled black magic onto the center of the altar. 

As the two witnessed the blasphemous ceremony, they were pulled back into the temple, in the same stances they once were. They wasted no time, considering that vision to be a message of utmost urgency, they called for a quick task force to go engage their enemy that lurked within the woods. 

The knights of Malchadiel gathered a small but deadly force, and soon sallied off towards the outskirts of the Capital. As they began their search for the undead, the Templars in the group began to have sharp pain, small visions giving them hints as to where to go. They eventually found the ritual ceremony and with it a plethora of undead. There they encountered what seemed to be an abyssal knight, large in stature, its blade covered in writhing tendrils and rotten smog. It called out to the Templars hiding behind the cover of the woodlands. Taunting them before the signal was given.  The night echoed with clashes of steel, bursts of flashes from the sparks that let off as each blade landed upon another.

The battle was fierce, quick, and violent.

THE RIFT

The towering undead knight was slain. The Hexwraith crumbled to the ground, but soon the ground shook, in the corner of their eyes towards the rift–the necromancers had completed their mission–the ground began to shake, and a new scar tore open. Abyssal flame and a myriad of black tendrils crawled out, lifeforce pouring out onto the ground, the foul stench of corruption polluted the air. Slowly the lands began to change, the dirt darkened, tree bark twisted unnaturally, leaves turned dark purple to shades of black.  The Host of Idunia had won the battle, the field was littered with undead and allied corpses, but now a rift was open and more undead will be pouring out from that wound…the dire circumstances was not over. Reports later that day came from Caurost, they too had been attacked. More and more reports began to come in, more undead, more necromancers, it seems they were being assaulted by multiple fronts. 

They may have won the battle, but the war had just begun.

I don’t want to control everything. I want to understand it. I want to live in balance, to protect what matters, and to grow strong in a quiet, steady way — like an oak that stands firm no matter the storm.

For me, being a druid isn’t about escaping the world. It’s about belonging to it. And that feels powerful. 🌿

HIGH WARDEN

Stewardship and reverence for nature have always been significant traits of the Idunians, in respect of GOD, or rather, Aeradar’s creations, from trees to fields, from the sunlight that beats from the heavens. In such, did this reverence foster a duty not only to protect the High Kingdom but Wardgroves and glades that surround vassals and keeps alike, birthing a new Order, sworn to the upkeep of nature’s balance: Verdants. A branch of Druids that takes root within the very heart of Idunia, within Alduun. It is through these practices of ridding areas of taint and blight, while remaining steadfast in the True Faith, that this blessing of Verdancy has fallen into the hands of chivalrous Knights: a responsibility to the Númenaranyë, the greater world and its people.

Such a blessing is not a selfish act but instead is placed in the hands of the courageous and selfless. Those who aspire to receive the guiding light of Pelydru are thus regarded as Apprentices. Apprentices seeking to receive the blessing and lessons are only accepted if said practitioner forgoes the heretical worship of the Aspects, for in such is much a heresy as followers of the True Faith. The boons of the Aspects are accepted, though to practice such selfishly and against the beliefs of Aeradar, and disregard the cares of nature, are held under high scrutiny. Thus, Verdants hold weighty responsibility. Thus, in establishing the Order of Verdants within the High Kingdom of Idunia, a new era of camaraderie wakes.

Where the Templar Knights bear the purging Light of the Radiant Flame, the Verdants are in its echo in root and bough. Knights of both virtue and verdure, the Verdants draw from the sacred breath of the wild, wielding a form of Radiance that flows not as fire, but as living renewal: Verdancy, an oath to safeguard the balance of life as ordained by Aeradar’s design. Tasked with cleaning the rot that festered in necrotic lands and corners of the world this includes ridding the blight in trees, sickness in the fields, and the spiritual hollowness that clings to corrupted places. Yet, make no mistake that the Verdant’s path is not one of softness. Like the roots of an old tree that splits stone, their will is unbending. They bring judgment with thorn and vine, shaping the world through Aeradar’s unseen hand in the wild. They stand as bulwarks against those who would sunder the natural order for power, dominion, or spite.

Verdants honor the Aspects, though offer no worship or misplaced faith towards the ancient wardens, aenguls of life’s design who serve not in opposition to God, but as angelic reflections of His will through the language of the earth. Thus, understanding that Verdancy draws not by the hands of the Aspects nor Mani is pivotal. Instead, it draws from the Fae Realm, in which Verdants hold much reverence, respect, and fear of the Fae, choosing not to trifle in their matters, nor the likes of what resides in their plane. And so, do the Verdant-Knights live within the blessing of Pelydru – binding them to a lifelong offering where one’s will is gently surrendered to the rhythms of the earth and sky, and the ever-turning wheel of nature’s cycle, and the sacred stewardship placed upon the Verdant’s shoulders and feet.

Similar to the practices of the Radiant Templars of the White Tower, to receive the Blessing of Communion is to swear and uphold the responsibilities given to those of Verdants. Whilst receiving the boons of Malchadiel hold their own requirements, so does Verdancy, as when one tethers themselves to the likes of green magic, it taxes the very likes of one’s mind - hearing the voices and song of nature into a cacophonic harmony that one must adapt to. Furthermore, is such a blessing not just bestowed upon those who hold a strong care for stewarding the environment, but also toward those who have excelled and exhibited in their faith and valor enough to commune with the likes of nature.

Those who seek the Blessing of Communion must first undergo Apprenticeship. . .

Apprenticeship Trials

Thereafter, in completing their Apprenticeship, should the aspirant seek approval of the High Verdant and notify the High Justiciar. Only then can the Apprentice be granted the Blessing of Communion by their Mentor.

Watchful in their presence as they commune with forests, sustained by countless unseen roots and whispered prayers on branches and leaves’wind, Verdants are the stewards of nature – though it does not claim them to have dominion over the land; rather, they are its guardians and keepers. Steadfast in their unwavering faith and their bond to the earth, balance and maintenance in the natural cycle of Aeradar’s creation is what the Verdants seek.

Those who seek to be granted such opportunities must be prepared to display their prowess before the face of the High Kingdom of Idunia. To walk the path of a Verdant-Knight is to carry the patience of stone and the resilience of ancient wood as figures of the living pulse of the land; to be the healing hand toward those in need, and the wrathful vine, the blooming judgement toward the unjust.

Refers to the process of receiving the Blessing of Communion/Connection, which involves entering a pool of water in a meditative state or being put into a comatose state, where one encounters all their shortcomings, trials, challenges, fears, and battles within a vision that is hyper-realistic. Moreover, does the Apprentice not realize these visions are not real, and is tasked to face and confront them within this state.

Refers to the spirits or Fae that manifest in animal form, whether ethereal or corporeal, appointed by the Aspects to do their will. Whilst guardians of the sort, or referred to as ‘Demigods’ by Druii, Verdants hold reverence, respect, and fear toward the Mani, though do not worship nor call upon them for their blessings or boons.

Year 270 S.A on the 11th of the Grand Harvest

Eye accounts of the Sirillas, Admiral Maerîl O’Rourke

on the matter of seaquakes in the southern seas. 

A fortnight prior to our return to Ildon port, our ship maintained by the Marsyrs, the Windshear, embarked on an expedition to find the cause of the quakes disrupting normal lunar tide patterns. 

We encountered on southern coral reefs a severe lack of natural wildlife, very inconclusive to the amount of predatory fish such as sharks and large eels. All creatures meek and small seemed to flee from the area.

Upon arriving at rather turbulent waters, our lookout spotted a felled whale in the distance on our portside. From such did the weather in the area surrounding it turn reckless with heavy rains and an accumulation of clouds. At times, it sounded almost like something was scraping the bottom of the boat. 

Drumming sounded from behind us, and we spotted two sloop size foreign ships on our starboard and portside stern. With Sir Therin of Petra on the wheel and Wyllm O’Riley managing rigging, we took heavy combative fire in the form of combustible arrows slicked with a sulfur resin that activated in a chain reaction to light them aflame. All the while, our assailants sang guttural songs of war. 

These sea bandits, with red sails and golden armor attempted with their technology to create spontaneous fires throughout our ship’s deck that were valiantly put out by leal soldiers Uthyr and Finch. Some too, such as Caelwyn took heavy hits with the second non-combustive volley from the portside ship. 

The upper command decided that the best move was to turn hard starboard, and we gained an upper hand by exchanging cannon fire. 

When we were met perpendicular with one of the ships, we were boarded by a band of nine spear men. With valiant efforts from Mersilmë, The D’Artagnan Patriarch, Dolion, Ansel and others they were fended off. At mention of capture, the felled foes quicker drew daggers to their hearts than be taken prisoner. All the while as the singing died out, the chasing ships peeled away from ours. In pursuit was a dark shape in the water. I suppose they decided to cut their losses and stop pursuing a ship that did them damage. And with their departure, the shape disappeared into the deep. 

Conclusion:

It is my personal opinion that these bandits that chased us were whalers, ones that fell larger fish in sacrifice to the sea monster under the waves. Once we surfaced in their waters, and their singing began, it was likely the drum beats and their song that directed the large monster to its prey. Though we have not seen the monster in full, it is likely smart to equip ships we sail henceforth with whaling harpoons that can pierce flesh thicker than 30 centimeters. 

Furthermore, there are a variety of sea creatures from my previous encounters with these threats with a range of abilities from poisonous corrosive gas to spewing boiling water from their mouths. All crew mates should be equipped with medical supplies to smother burns from acid or water.

It is necessary for the Knights of Idunia to congregate and make decisions on the tenets of their many and varied orders. This conference is led by the Sword of Owyn alongside the High Justiciar and the Knight Commander. In seeking to maintain record of these discussions, this document shall detail the first two meetings of The Roundtable and the decisions made therein.

🟆 | Knight Captains, as well as the Knight Commander, have been granted the privilege and responsibility of taking two squires if they wish, rather than one. The rationale of this decision was to allow the Knight Captains the ability to bolster their orders more readily.

🟆 | Newly sworn Knights must not take squires for three years after their Knighting Ceremony. The rationale of this decision is to force them to be independent for a time without having to take the care of another immediately.

🟆 | The Lordship of Angrenost has been granted permission to establish their own Knightly Order, becoming the fourth vassal of the High Kingdom to have done so. Ser Boromir Orodrion, who shall be this Order’s Knight Captain, has declared that this shall be the Order of the Silver Stag.

🟆 | The High Table is to be established to confer upon the matters of Knighthood that require only their superior authority. It is to be made up of the Knight Captains of the Knightly Orders within the High Kingdom, the Knight Commander, the High Justiciar, the Sword of Owyn, and two electorate seats chosen from the collective of The Roundtable. Within the first Roundtable, it were Dame Saelind Vourkehardt and Ser Heledd Glennmaer elected to The High Table.

🟆 | The Knight Commander, Ser Caspian Beowulf Colborn III, has formalized the creation of three Titles of Knightly Prestige. These are to be granted unto the Knights of Idunia to commend their deeds, but also to impart the responsibility of raising the status of these titles hereon. Each recipient of these titles shall decide the next who will take it after them, though the first are chosen by either the Sword of Owyn, the Knight Commander, or The High Table of Knights.

🟆 | The Sword of Owyn, Ser Valanór Vourkehardt, has chosen the High Justiciar, Ser Viago Vourkehardt, to be the recipient of the title of Knight of the Searing Flame.
🟆 | The Knight Commander, Ser Caspian Beowulf Colborn III, has chosen the Turtle-Knight Captain of the Ivory Tower, Sir Frederick Euler, to be the recipient of the title of Knight of the Silver Shield.
🟆 | The High Table has chosen the Knight Captain of the Green Haven, Ser Arthur Marsyr, to be the recipient of the title of Knight of the Radiant Heart.

🟆 | Knight Captains of the High Kingdom are to ensure that the Knight Commander and Sword of Owyn are informed of all current squires and their progress in periodical update, as well as to ensure that their stated roster of Knights is current.

🟆 | The matter of Ser Griffith Glennmaer and Ser Mauricio Salazar as Knights of the Realm has been clarified. Both have been given exemption from their uncertain status and granted quest to fulfill.

🟆 | As proposed by Dame Saelind Vourkehardt, female Knights have been permitted to use the term Dame rather than Ser or Sir if it is in their preference. This is entirely optional.

🟆 | As proposed by Ser Arthur Marsyr, Knights may request permission from the ruler of their vassal or the High King himself to be granted permission to impart the Knighting Ceremony to their own squire. Permission from the ruler of a vassal is only applicable if both the Knight and squire are within, or are to join, the Knightly Order attached to the vassal.

🟆 | Ser Valanór Vourkehardt shall retire as the Sword of Owyn in fulfilling his penance during his Path of Owyn. Both blade and title shall be imparted unto Sir Frederick Euler.

🟆 | It shall be enforced that all Knights not of true royal birth be given two years to meet with the Sword of Owyn and Knight Commander, especially if recently absent. In ensuring this meeting is had, their Knightly status shall be retained. Knights who do not make themselves present to either shall have their Knighthood stripped until they return. A quest shall be  imparted to be granted the title once more if they return. Certain exceptions to Knights of venerated legacy are to be made.

Change begets change. For over two centuries, the Númenedain of Idunia have stood proud and formidable. From the Kingdoms of Barrowton to Númendil, the hosts of the Idunians have won many battles upon the field, from mountain to desert to frozen waste. Yet in over two centuries, there remained one last frontier not yet mastered wholeheartedly; the sea. With the arrival of the Númenedain to Azuras and the rise of the High Kingdom of Idunia, The Angcirlak, from its humble beginnings as a simple patchwork of salvaged ships has been created to ensure the safety of trade and commerce in Idunia’s waters, as well as to facilitate its projection of power across the waves. 

To be a mariner of the Iron Fleet, is to comport one’s self as a warrior of Idunia. With all the honors and tenets therein; each ship, a bastion of the Númenedain, an island which is to differ none from the values of home. To be chivalrous and courageous to one's friends and allies, to the august and the wretched, and to make ceaseless war onto the thralls of Iblees. To be decent in indecent times. Each ship an envoy and symbol of the Númenedain, in whichever port or sovereign waters they might be. 

Guided by Stars, Anchored in Honor

The vocation of a mariner warrior and a master of ship is one built off the back of a sharpened mind as much as it is that of a sharpened blade. From logistics, to mathematics, to navigation and swimming. It is a dedication to a complex art that allows those who sail the seas to become its master.

🝑 Otholran | Initiate

At this rank, a prospective mariner is considered a part of the broader Host of Idunia and confers no special benefit among the ranks of the Angcirlak. It is however a requirement to begin at this rank to eventually rise the ranks and to take on the maritime vocation in service of Idunia.

This however does not mean that an Otholran cannot however take preliminary steps in ensuring their place among the fleet. Of their own initiative, they can express an interest in joining the fleet and receive training in ocean-going combat, as well as learn the basics of navigation, naval discipline and life on a ship out at sea. Though they at this stage can expect no special equipment or dedicated treatment. For they have yet to prove themselves as trusted among the ranks of the Idunian warriors.

🝑 Maethor | Warrior

Sitting outside the structure of the Iron Navy, it is at this rank that a prospective mariner can formally approach the High Admiral of the Seas and/or the Sword of Owyn for the ability to be made an official member of the Fleet. In doing so and gaining the approval to do so, they will then be inducted into the Iron Navy the moment they have sufficiently earned the rank of Thandor.

During this stage, not much difference will initially be seen between a Maethor of the Host of Idunia and one approved to become a member of the Angcirlak. Though a Maethor can expect a continuation of their training in nautical training outside their official duties as a warrior of the Host. At this rank, they will be primarily examined for their commitment to the path of a sailor and mariner in anticipation of the next step of their nautical journey. 

🝑 Thandor | Guardian

Upon ascending to the rank of Thandor, an individual seeking to become a member of the Angcirlak can do so immediately. Like their counterparts within the wider Host, they will be expected to be warriors of Idunia, willing to fight with courage and act with distinction against the Thralls of Iblees or other such enemies of Idunia.

A Maethor entering the Iron Navy almost immediately undergoes fierce training in a variety of different jobs that are required to succeed in the fleet. They will learn to manage and maintain their vessels, learn to chart the stars, read a compass, depth, to swim if they are unable, the order and discipline of naval command as well as get an in-depth education on the use of artillery. As they are still warriors of the Idunian Host, they will also be expected to be such on their vessels as well, whether it be on the deck of a galley in the midst of a storm, a slow moving river, on beaches both rocky and sandy alike. 

Such rigorous training culminates in the ‘Trial of the Tides’, where all Thandors wishing to ascend the ranks of the Angcirlak are tasked with (either on their own or with a group of their fellows) setting out to sea with an instructor or officer of rank to test their prowess at all these jobs, as well as to survive and thrive under less than ideal conditions. The test being as cruel and unforgiving as the sea itself. Upon passing the Trial, a Thandor can expect a merit based rise to the next rank.

🝑 Cirion | Mariner - Specialist

Reserved for those who pass the ‘Trial of the Tides’, Cirions can expect a number of other privileges to accompany the earned trust of the Fleet. This rank is the lowest possible for any individual to be able to command a ship at the greatest of need. They can expect their own ships to pass to and from the Angcelumë with minimal scrutiny and further training towards a specialty of their choice such as ship building, expeditionary scouting, research, or command. It is here they will get to dive fully into their skill and continue their work fighting alongside the Host of Idunia. They will still be expected to come to the aid of the land-bound army at-need as well as provide ocean-going logistical support. This rank is the equivalent of Astor (Bannerman).

It is at this rank also that a member of the fleet will be trained to operate the static sea-side defenses of the High Kingdom, namely: the channel bridges and chains, which the Iron Navy will have the exclusive right to operate in war and peacetime with exceptions made only by the High Admirals of the Angcirlak or the Tar of Idunia themselves. The Specialty roles one may take within the Angcirlak are interchangeable and if an aspirant wishes, can pursue multiple. Though it is important to note no specialty as a result holds greater weight in terms of command except through merit alone. The specialties goes as follows:

• Shipwrights: Responsible for repairing and constructing new ships of all kinds for the Fleet.
• Expeditionaries: Responsible for scouting and patrolling the high seas and waterways both within and beyond the waters of Idunia, often working closely with the Rangers of Idunia to identify new landmarks, threats and other phenomena of note of a more oceanic or coastal nature.
• Empiricists: Responsible for managing logistics within the fleet, as well as cataloging and researching ocean going environments that are of use or a danger to the navy or ship borne traffic.
• Officers: Responsible for maintaining order and command on ships as well as maintaining the core values, tenets and decorum of the fleet while out at sea or when interacting with other Númenedain and their opposites within foreign waters. 

Specialties carry on to the ranks beyond that of Cirion.

🝑 Cairtur | Coxswain

Numbered among this rank are some of the most experienced veterans of oceanic combat, travel and exploration. True masters of the salt and sea that have answered every challenge and hardship laid before them by Captains, The Sword of Owyn and the High Admirals of Idunia. For this, they are given a higher level of trust and honor for their dedication and high amount of expertise. They are also entrusted to lead in the absence of Captains and other high ranking officials during battle or other mitigating circumstances. This rank is the equivalent of Orthar (Master-at-Arms).

To denote and symbolize their elevated station as a trusted leader and officer of the navy, a Cairtur upon promotion is granted a fleet officer’s sword known as an Cimaear. Commonly, the sword is a 32 inch long anorum blade with s-shaped quillons and side rings plated in aurum that symbolizes authority and skill among those who wield them.

🝑 Azrahest | Sea Captain

Among the highest echelons of the Angcirlak’s leadership, Captains are the most experienced, most successful leaders of the Idunian Fleet. Familiar with almost all aspects of a ship’s inner workings, naval combat, weather and navigation, a Captain of a ship is the de facto leader of authority of any ship they find themselves on, surpassed by no one but an Admiral, the Sword of Owyn, and the Tar of Idunia themselves. They are entrusted to make decisions that ensure the well being of their vessel, their crew and secure the success of their missions, as well as allotted the ability to act autonomously should they find themselves far from the rest of the Iron Navy so long as they hold to the ideals and their loyalty to the Númenedain. This rank is the equivalent of Gwaithron (Captain).

Because of their immense power and responsibility, it is required that those aspiring to the rank of Azrahest be oathed Númenedain and take an additional vow of loyalty to the Tar of Idunia before fully receiving the privileges this rank affords them.

🝑 Sirillas | High Admiral of Ports

One of two admirals chosen by the Tar of Idunia to spearhead the maintenance and health of the Angcirlak. Their primary focus is on the Angcelumë and the overseeing of ports and riverways, ensuring that ships are constructed and the ports well defended from internal and external threats to High Kingdom, whether it be Demons, Undead, Azdrazi or warring Kingdoms. They are empowered as well, to integrate and secure vassal ports and places of trade during a time of war, as well as propose improvements to the channel bridge’s defenses. 

🝑 Artanai | High Admiral of the Seas

One of the two admirals chosen by the Tar of Idunia responsible for enacting the purpose of the fleet and leading them into battle. It is the Artanai who leads the fleet out to sea, whether it be against belligerent enemy powers, demons, darkspawn, or the existential threats that have come to pass so often throughout the history of the world. And they oversee training, fleet maneuvers and coordinate expeditions and missions with the Sword of Owyn and the Tar of Idunia.

Important Note: WHILE THE FLEET CONTAINS ITS OWN RANK SYSTEM, THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE FLEET DEFER TO THEIR LAND-BASED EQUIVALENTS WHILE PARTICIPATING IN LAND EXPEDITIONS, BATTLE, AND WAR.

In the interest of ensuring Númenedain supremacy over its territorial waters, the Angcirlak is empowered with the responsibilities it alone retains exclusive jurisdiction over that all vassals within the High Kingdom of Idunia must abide by:

I - The exclusive right  for the Angcirlak to control and regulate traffic entering and exiting the Angcelumë.

II - The exclusive right and responsibility of controlling the channel bridges leading to and from the Autumnal Isle of Arglîmir.

III - The right to commandeer and incorporate vassal war and trade vessels during a time of war or crisis.

IV - That all docks a part of Aldunn’s control fall under its direct control.
V - The unimpeded ability to make use of any port within the Kingdom of Idunia for military purposes.

VI -  The exclusive ability to add and remove ferries within the Kingdom of Idunia with coordination from the Sword of Owyn and the Tar.

VII - The ability to hire and incorporate auxiliaries at its own discretion with coordination from the Sword of Owyn and the Tar.
VIII - The ability to impose regulation pertaining to the maintenance and use of river and water ways throughout all of the High Kingdom of Idunia.

IX - Full access to all waterways within the High Kingdom of Idunia.
X - The ability to regulate the size and scope of vassal warships.

In the latter days of Aevos, the Idunian fleet as it stood was a ramshackle collection of ships brought together in a time of crisis of emergency. Maintained by volunteers and those that were charitable enough to help in its upkeep alongside the Marsyrs- the fleet was comprised of captured Covenant ships, privately owned galleys, restored Amanthine brigs and cogs, and a handful of custom made ships from across the Kingdom of Númendil’s seafaring vassals. In acknowledgement of its roots, the tradition of Auxiliaries and its Vassal fleets within the Angcirlak shall remain.

Auxiliaries

For any who harbor their ships within the waters of Idunia and integrate them, whether it be partially or fully can expect benefits for doing so. These are to be negotiated on a case by case basis and offers made on the basis of crew experience, crew reliability, the condition of the vessel(s), a vessel(s) role, type and quality. Such private enterprising vessels can be expected to adhere to Númenedain law and ethics, or consider any negotiated deals with the High Kingdom of Idunia null and void. 

Privateers are NOT considered auxiliaries, for they deal solely in pay and are not to be treated the same as those who volunteer their ships and experiences to the greater overall structure of the Angcirlak. The hiring of mercenary fleets and privateers is to be considered outside the scope of the Iron Navy of Idunia. 

Vassal Fleets

As ships owned and in the control of those who have sworn their loyalty and service to the Tar of Idunia, the ships of Idunian vassals are to be afforded greater privilege than that of any auxiliary. They are given the freedom and ability to patrol Idunian waters at their own behest or under direct orders by the Angcirlak if given. This however does NOT give them the right to impede each other’s water ways or act as enforcers of maritime law without the direct authorization from the Angcirlak. Except in cases dealing with Darkspawn, which as always, are to be destroyed immediately with extreme prejudice. Vassal fleets are otherwise given the freedom to act in accordance with their own business and maritime interests, unless otherwise directed by the Angcirlak, the Sword of Owyn, or the Tar of Idunia.

During times of war or extreme emergency, all vassal fleets are however required to be folded into the Angcirlak to meet any and all threats posed against the High Kingdom of Idunia without exception. And in peace, adhere to any regulation imposed upon vassal fleets, should any arise.

To serve within the Host of Idunia is to accept the righteous charge of safeguarding the many and varied lands of the High Kingdom. In bearing one’s blade for its people one shall find a purpose beyond themself, rewarded with experience, honor, and ascent in station. The tenets of the ancestral Radiant Guard which once defended the Kingdom of Númendil endure, only refined into the redeemed age. Those who led and served in that venerable army remain revered, paragons of their time that built the foundation of the present military.

The Idunian soldier is the vessel of the realm’s might and virtue, upholding each promise to ally and adversary alike beneath the Creator’s gaze. Guided by the Sword of Owyn, the Host burns an everbright golden flame which sears those who oppose the path of the Redeemed. It is the everlasting oath of its founding and renewal that the Host of Idunia shall ever stand as spear and shield, the blade and bulwark of Tar-Zôrzagar’s will. In loyalty to the Royal House of Arthalionath, each ordained sovereign hereafter shall have this steadfast Host at their call to impose their command.

Before being enlisted within the Host, each prospective soldier must swear upon the Vow of Idunia, reciting it before the figure who enlists them. This oath binds them into their service, acting as a contract to their path as a warrior. Unlike the Oath of Tar-Númenatâr or the Errant Knight’s Code, a soldier may request to be released from this Vow through honorable discharge once they are permitted to retire.

In learning to wield valor, a soldier shall ascend in station. This hierarchy that measures the strength of a soldier’s vow is unique to the capital, though the various vassals of Idunia may devise their own ladder of rank and file. Too, may the various levies of the High Kingdom use their own weapons and armor.

🟆 Otholran | Initiate

Stranger who walks our path. Untempered in the ways of Idunia, the Otholran embark upon their path of righteous service readily. As an Initiate, they are tested not in their might but by their truest potential. In the toil of this station they shall foster an understanding of the land, a zeal for its faith, and a readiness for war.
 

Though fledgling and subject to command, no dishonor is wrought from the station as long as the soldier maintains an aspiration for growth. Even as an unproven arm, they shall be properly equipped and armored yet shall receive none of the crown’s coin. Instead, their payment is delivered in the privilege to serve and to be hardened through the tempest of battle that the career provides.
 

🟆 Maethor | Warrior

One who has the will to battle. As their gauntlet acquaints with the blade and learns to raise it well, so too does the aspirant rise to the rank of Maethor. These Warriors of Idunia are expected, at minimum, to be competent in battle and wield the charge of the Kingdom with a resolved conviction.
 

In becoming a proven sword, the Maethor is expected to deepen their roots further. Though continued tenacity against hardship is a mark of such, the true measure requires one to swear upon the sacred Oath of Tar-Númenatâr. Until such is endeavored, the Warrior remains at their station, albeit with a modest sum of minas now granted for their service.
 

🟆 Thandor | Guardian

One who protects the faithful. Oathsworn and tempered, the Thandor can be relied upon as bulwark against the dark. Their highest charge as Guardian is to rebuff peril when it may approach, a shield to those without one. It is expected that, in their presence, the cities of Idunia may bustle unburdened. Upon attaining this rank, a Thandor may also petition assessment to become a Ranger should they seek such specialization.
 

No longer considered a mere blade, the footfalls of a Thandor represent safety, each soldier a stone of the wall that separates the malevolent from the faithful. Those that shoulder the responsibilities of protector are rewarded with Darthagwest, a ceremonial shield of steel and silver, boasting the sigil of the Kingdom. Their pockets grow heavier, too, granted additional coin in their enduring oath.
 

🟆 Astor | Bannerman

One who has proven their loyalty. The Astor is a soldier whose gallantry has been well demonstrated, whose blade and blood are at the service of Idunia. The burden, sacrifice, and hardship of their path weigh upon them and yet still, unflinchingly, these seasoned soldiers continue their steady march.
 

As they near the highest mantles of the Host, their expectation is to lead by example. Those of lower stations are wise to heed the words begat from the rigors of their years. The aptitude for command is first tested as an Astor, their capability when granted authority duly weighed. As a mark of their esteem and devotion, the Bannerman is honored by being granted a Banner of Idunia, to boast proudly in moots of military or royal ceremony alike.
 

🟆 Orthor | Master-at-Arms

One who has mastered themselves. At the pinnacle of the Idunian soldiery stands the Orthor. These soldiers are honed blades; they are not only familiar but intimate with its violence. To attain this rank, it would demand being chosen for its trials by a Captain or the Sword of Owyn. This challenge would bring them to confront their weaknesses and overcome them.
 

It is at this echelon that the soldier is granted Cîrgwest, a ceremonial blade bestowed to those who have proven worthy of its prestige. As veterans of the Host, their word bears a mighty weight and it is for this reason that they are to receive a broader opportunity to lead.
 

🟆 Gwaithron | Captain

The dauntless Gwaithron stand as the cornerstones of the Idunian Host. It is through their resolve and valor that the blades of Idunia are sustained, its metal honed. The Sword of Owyn imparts unto them the necessary labors of ensuring each soldier is well disciplined, each remade into a soldier of tact and sharpness. Their authority is mighty enough that the vassals of Idunia shall adhere to it when enforced.
 

To take upon this role, one must bear the burden of leadership and model military prowess as commander and warrior. It is expected that they shall earn the trust of their subordinates and, moreover, instill upon them a courage that will allow them to enact the will of the Tar.
 

🟆 Calonhîr | The Sword of Owyn

The Calonhîr stands at the apex of command within the Host of Idunia, bearing a mantle chosen by the Crown itself. It is their charge to oversee the entirety of the Host, including its vassal levies, and unify its temperance towards a singular end. Under their command, the Host shall remain steadfast and able-bodied, prepared always to muster against those that imperil their lands or those of its allies.

On Knighthood and Squires: It should be noted that whilst a Squire may ascend the ranks of the military during their training, once one becomes a Knight they are considered outside of the promotion ladder.

It is known that not all who would serve the High Kingdom thrive amidst shield-walls and the ordered tread of armies. To the outlander who finds solace beneath canopies and clouds, to a hunter whose eyes are keen to the edges of each shadow, there stands another path: the Rangers of Idunia.
 

Upon attaining the rank of Thandor, a soldier may seek the solitude of this order and submit themselves to its trials. When prepared, the aspirant shall be summoned before the Ranger-Captain, known in the Adunaic tongue as Gwaithrîn, to undertake an assessment of mind and body alike.
 

Their knowledge shall be tested in the lore of the Bestia Conlectia and the darkest monstrosities which stalk the realm; in their craft of alchemy both in terms of concoction and application; and in the arts of healing both with medicine and herbal remedy.
 

If these trials are met with success, the Ranger-Captain shall invoke the final test: the First Hunt. The aspirant must venture into the environs of Idunia and bring back a trophy worthy of being accepted into the order such as a wolf, ram, or elk. The prey shall be used to create their weapons and tools; the hide to be utilized for their bowie cloak and the bones into arrows.
 

Those who endure and are accepted are granted the rank of Thandorîn. In time, through countless expeditions and battles, they may ascend to the higher mantles of Astorîn and Orthorîn, mirroring the titles of the Host. Yet rank bears little comfort to these watchers, for theirs is a solemn charge of which triumphs are seldom sung, instead remembered with a quiet reverence.

On Knighthood and Squires: It should be noted that whilst a Squire may become a Ranger, it is not recommended as one may not maintain their rank as a Ranger when they are Knighted given the differences in responsibilities.

Newest among the limbs of the Host, the fleet, natively known as the Angcirlak (Aang-kir-laq) rests as the third pillar of the Host of Idunia. Its duty being the regulation of the High Kingdom's maritime holdings and trade, but also to its defense and logistical security. Those who join the Iron Navy are expected not only to be familiar with the workings of sea faring and ship's maintenance, but masters of maritime combat as well - whether it be upon the rivers, the channel or the high seas.
 

Those seeking the vocation may do so upon achieving the rank of Maethor. Upon entry into the Angcirlak, they will be trained fiercely in the art of maritime combat, the maintenance of one's vessel, the rigors of artillery, and the discipline of naval command. Upon suitably passing a Trial of the Tides, where all these qualities will be tested out at sea, they will be allowed the rank of Cirion, which holds rank equivalent to that of Astor. Through further years of service they may be promoted to Cairtur, an equivalent rank to Orthor.
 

Further into the ranks of the Iron Navy, sailors who prove themselves exceptional gain the ability to take control of the channel bridges and officer ranks within the fleet. Where specialties in navigation, ship building, and cartography are learnt until the most experienced and skilled earn their place as Sea-Captains of their own ships.

At times, a soldier may prove worthy of commendation beyond that of promotion. In such cases, they shall be presented with a medallion before all of their compatriots at a public gathering of the soldiery. There are many feats and deeds which may be worthy of medallion, and some are even granted posthumously on certain occasions for the fallen. It shall be noted that these medallions are not intended to be granted frivolously and are expected to be imparted to those who are exemplary.

🟆 Medallion of the Radiant Star

This medallion is issued to those who have committed themselves to attendance of various battles. Whether it is sieges, field-battles, or in defending a keep, as long as one has proven their vigor in battle through countless examples they are to be granted this award.

🟆 Medallion of the Searing Blade

This medallion is issued to those who have assisted in defending the city against all odds, rebuking the forces of dark-thralls which invade the city. Too, shall it be granted to those who enter great peril to bring light into the lairs of darkness.

🟆 Medallion of the Lion’s Roar

This medallion is issued to those who have rescued or saved another at great cost to themselves. A sacrifice of their own being, whether lethal or otherwise, to rescue the lives of others in battle. For their courage in the threat to themselves, they are granted this award.

🟆 Medallion of the Branch of Caladhril

This medallion is intended to be imparted posthumously to a fallen warrior who had given their life in sacrifice to a greater cause. It is one granted to their next of kin, or closest of relatives, to honor the deceased.

🟆 Medallion of the Gilded Queen

This medallion is granted to those who have slain a great threat within the realm, similar to that of the Gilded Queen wyvern slain on Aevos. Evidence or witness to the slaying of the harrowing evil is necessary to be granted this medallion.

Knighthood within Idunia is a lifelong burden which acts as a sacred office enforced by divine expectation and public scrutiny. Though the expectations have evolved and shall surely thereon, the modern Idunian Knight is honored by their actions, endurance, and conviction. It is no small feat to become a Knight of Idunia, requiring many to sacrifice a decade of their life in its pursuit, with the possibility that they do not ascend at all being entirely plausible.

The Errant Knight’s Code, immortalized by Ser Uther Pendraic, is a legacy maintained within the Idunian Code of Chivalry. Though quite similar, the tenets of the former Oath are evolved to harmonize with that of the High Kingdom’s dogma. Every true Knight of Idunia swears by this sacred promise made to our Creator. To forgo the upkeep of these knightly standards is to be stripped of one’s rank and title.

In its adherence, one is to understand that Knighthood is not simply a title of prestige nor suggestion, but rather the divine expectation of those that follow its path. It is through both the privilege and responsibility of being a Knight that one defends the values and virtues of Idunia.

To achieve one’s Knighthood, one must first find a Knight that is willing to train them and lead them to mastery of their skill. This is a bond which is not to be taken lightly as the two shall be bonded for decades in the pursuit of expertise. Though not required, some Knights have aspirants prove their worth first, before accepting them as squire.
 

When a Knight has chosen one to take as their squire, their instruction may begin immediately. Though it is a rather free-form practice, it is at least expected that the squire is prepared to fulfill all requirements of the assessment in any way that the Knight deems necessary.

Though the measure of a Knight is one which is at times an abstract, and rather amorphous, there must still be a standard upheld. In this, every Knight of Idunia shall hereon adhere to these requirements, regardless of vassal or order.

Their expertise and suitability of all listed below shall, in most cases unless granted exception, be overseen by the Sword of Owyn or the Knight-Commander when a Knightly Mentor has designated their squire ready for such.

Each squire must…

🟆 …fanciful fighting which is in particular most utilized in smaller skirmishes or duels.

🟆 …rough-and-tumble brawls wherein two retinues come into direct confrontations.

Then, each squire shall profess…

🟆 …ten worthy deeds which they have accomplished in their time as page or squire.

• And of these deeds, that no more than half may come from a singular threat.

🟆 …five trophies which they may present during their assessment.

🟆 …five letters (following the listed requirements) writ from others of Idunia which shall vouch to the honor of their character.

• None may be written by a relative.
• 1 must be written by a Templar.
• 3 must be written by Knights, of any order.
• 3 must be written by residents of other vassals, or the capital.

It shall be noted that though other Knightly Orders of Idunia may have their own additional requirements and may increase the amount which must be professed, that which is listed above is the minimum of which must be adhered to. None may be knighted without having proven themselves before the aforementioned legitimate parties. If one attempts the assessment and fails, they will be unable to attempt the trial for three years to grant them time to better prepare themselves.

Once proven worthy, a Knight of Idunia will subject themselves to the final trials required of them to be granted their title. It is a sacred and excruciating transformation which emphasizes the end of a squire’s journey. In undertaking this final step, known as the Chivalric Rites, a squire must be wholly ready and cannot falter, for even a modicum of error shall not be met with grace.

In preparation of the Chivalric Rites one must…

🟆 …hold a sacred ring, granted unto them by the Tar.

🟆 …bring a personal item of sentimentality, to be offered in sacrifice.

🟆 …memorize the oath of Knighthood entirely.

The Walk

The squire shall kneel at the edge of the Flamewell whilst bearing their sacred item of personal importance. It shall be presented then unto the gathered witnesses, its significance explained. Then, they shall face the searing flames and begin to recite their oath by swearing upon the first three tenets.

The Sacrifice

The squire shall hold their sacred item before the flame, and then cast it into the inferno. As they continue to swear the next three tenets, they will watch as it is rendered into ash and ember.

The Binding

As they swear upon the next three tenets, their ring shall be offered to a Templar-Knight who shall thrust it into the divine flames. In this scorching state, it shall be placed onto the squire’s finger where it shall burn through flesh and become a permanent brand of their service.

The Vow

At the apex and conclusion of their rite, the Relic of the Star shall be pressed into the squire’s palm or chest which shall sear its divine mark into their very being.

Here, the squire must recite the final oath,
“I swear that I shall be everywhere and always the champion of the Right and the Good against Injustice and Evil.”

And as the rite is completed before the Tar, or an appointed representative, the aspirant shall stand as a true Knight of the Realm upon hearing,
“Then by the Cross, the Flame, and the Radiant Star, I charge you all this and more - To uphold all duties required of you by your station, and to act honorably, now and always."

Those who bear witness may then proclaim within any similar variation in honor of the new Knight:
“Hail Ser ___! Hail our Folk! Glory to Idunia!”

If a Knight is being sworn into a specific Knightly Order such as the Orders of the Dawn in Tir-Glas, the Green Haven in Ildon, the Ivory Tower in Adria, etcetera… the Knighting ceremony will differ and may be enacted by their vassal’s leader (or one appointed by them) rather than the Tar.

Faith in our Creator, and a reverence to those who have shepherded the flock, are core merits of any Knight of Idunia. One such Knight may find that they have a connection to one of the revered leaders of humanity and may choose to adhere to their tenets, choosing them as their Patron Saint. In doing so, their most valued ideals are professed unto all and attached to the character of their Knightly vocation. Below, one may find the most common of Patron Saints within the Knights of Idunia as well as some of their closest adherents.

Saint Owyn of the Holy Flame

Owyn, Son of Godwin, is the Patron of Purity, War, and Fire and was the second prophet of Aeradar. He was charged to serve in Harren's apostate court and bring light to it, however in his most critical moment was unable to maintain his piety and slayed his uncle. After establishing the Priesthood and granting humanity the Scroll of Spirit, he perished in the flames of Edel after slaying the sinful in the city of iniquity, rising to the Seven Skies to stand aside his grandfather Horen.
 

The Knights who accept Owyn as their Patron Saint are those with a fanatical zeal against the darkness. Too, will some Knights choose Owyn as their patron if they feel their duty is a part of a path of redemption. Of the Knights of Idunia, those such as Ser Viago Vourkehardt or Ser Nathannenel Eruedraith most express the virtues of Saint Owyn.

Saint Horen of Kramore

Horen, father of Humanity, is the Patron of Humanity, Covenants, and Humility and was the first prophet of Aeradar. The Lord approached him due to his immense humility and faith during Iblees’ revolution. He led the tribes of man against the Deceiver’s spawn and decimated them, taking his people to the holy lands in the Isthmus of Kramore. His covenant with Aeradar secured humanity their position in the Seven Skies.
 

The Knights who accept Horen as their Patron Saint are those who accept humble service in faith and, moreover, take witness to the totality of humanity. It is these Knights who oft see more similarity than difference in the varied diaspora of man. Within the Knights of Idunia, if one may seek examples of Horen’s tenets, they may find such in Ser Arthur Marsyr.

Saint Julia of Kramore

Julia, mother of Humanity, is the Patron of Mothers, Matrimony, and Exorcism and tended to the tribe of man when Horen was absent within the Grotto of Gamesh. When their people were incurred by the presence of Iblees, it was Julia who saw through the Deceiver’s disguise and cast him out from their camp. It is her wisdom and love for humanity which bolstered Horen’s work.
 

The Knights who accept Julia as their Patron Saint are those who hold a great respect for devotion and family. Too are they those who are insightful, knowing much of the occult and are proficient in unthreading lies and conspiracy. Exemplary carriers of Saint Julia’s values within the Knights of Idunia would include Ser Silas Stafyr, Ser Dietrich von Theonus, and Ser Adalia Temesch of the Petra.

Saint Artifai

Artifai, Aengul of Aeradar, acted as an emissary of Aeradar and messenger to both Harren and Owyn. At the command of our Lord, they bid Harren to travel to the Grotto of Gamesh and take the laurel of prophethood that his father, Horen, bore. When Harren refused and festered in his pride, the Aengul was aghast though did not interfere. As Owyn was offered the same, it was Artifai too who sought to guide him towards righteousness.
 

The Knights who accept Artifai as their Patron Saint are those who seek to act as mentor to not only the youthful aspirants of their path but also to the downtrodden and lost. To accept Artifai is to profess faith openly, yet not force the words of Aeradar into the ears of those who do not wish to listen. Within Idunia, the Knights which most adhere to such are Ser Boromir Orodrion, Ser Arathor Arthalion, and Ser Atticus Reinhold.

Saint Evaristus & Clement

Evaristus and Clement, the first Pontiffs, are the Patron Saints of Twins and Keepers of the Canon. In specific, Evaristus acts as the Patron Saint of Chastity, Butchers, and the East Winds whilst Clement is the Patron Saint of Mercy, Bakers, and the West Winds. They acted together as the first heads of faith, joint bearers of the laurel which would pass through many successors. It was Owyn who anointed them as the first High Priests of the True Faith.
 

   The Knights who accept Evaristus and Clement as their Patron Saints usually hold a close bond with another Knight. It is companionship and community which holds immense weight in their hearts. Too, do they seek to remember and value that of historical preservation, their eyes collecting the fragments of today which shall be written upon the tomes of tomorrow. Those who have shared the bright-eyes and camaraderie of these Saints within the Knights of Idunia are Sir Frederick Euler and Ser Wilford Reinhold.

It is necessary for the Knights of Idunia to congregate and make decisions on the tenets of their many and varied orders. This chivalric council has two tiers which deliberate upon the matters of Knighthood. The High King of Idunia holds veto-power within these gatherings, though wields it with the discipline of a wise leader, a restraint in respecting the experience of their Knights.

The first council seats all Knights of Idunia, known as The Roundtable and is headed and mediated by the Sword of Owyn, the Knight Commander, the High Justiciar, and the High King of Idunia. Small fragments of this assembly may be called to oversee Knightly Assessments, granted that at least one of the heads is present to administer it. It is only necessary that three Knights are present when a squire is being examined. The larger gatherings are to raise petitions to be sent to the High Council. These petitions may involve anything regarding any Order, though may specifically make changes to the requirements of Knighthood as well as the restrictions upon which Squires may be taken. The Roundtable shall also vote upon the two electorate seats of the High Council and vote upon the granting of Titles of Prestige to other Knights. The last and most solemn responsibility of The Roundtable is to propose the voting of the Last Rite of Kings. In the instance that this vote is proposed with at least half of the Knights in support of it, the High King of Idunia relinquishes his veto-power for the remainder of the meeting.

The second council is known as the High Council. It is made up of the High King of Idunia, the Sword of Owyn, the Knight Commander, the High Justiciar, all Thalion Knights, all Knight Captains, and hosts two Electorate Seats which may be held by any Knights. The High Council determines the punishment of Knights who have broken their Oath. In the aftermath of the Knight’s trial, they must vote on whether to view them as guiltless or impart toil, injury, the stripping of their rank, and in the worst of cases, death. Too, shall the High Council deliberate on the petitions raised by The Roundtable and vote on their acceptance or denial. Those who had made the proposal of the petition may be invited to the High Council to make their argument. It is also the duty of the High Council to maintain the Tome of Deeds which shall record the greatest accolades of the Knights of Idunia. Moreover, they shall ensure to disseminate all information regarding that of Knighthood and any changes therein to The Roundtable.

The Thalion Knights are an elevated order within the Knights of Idunia acting as the divine writ of Malchediael made manifest. This sacred covenant is born at the junction of valor and faith between virtue and holy charge, not simply venerable warriors. Their burden is one made heavier and requires them to battle wickedness as an exemplar and sanctified by fire.
 

All Thalion Knights are required to hold the blessing of Malchediael and Jophiael, necessitating the bolstered courage and enlightenment to resolve their duties. It is their charge of which they are eternally bound: to be the radiance in the dark, wielding blanched flame against the villainous.
 

The Thalion must hold fast to the Idunian Code of Chivalry, the Laws of Harren, and to the dogma of Templarism whilst also under the scrutiny of the Tar. If ever it is judged that they have dishonored themselves to a great degree it shall be their honor, titles, and life which are stripped from them mercilessly.
 

All oaths previously sworn by a Thalion are rendered forfeit through their ascent to this sacred order. Instead, they shall swear a new oath only to be heard by the Tar and others of the same radiant cloth.

The Rite of Ascension

There is no universal route for one becoming a Thalion Knight. It is a process of objectives decided only by the Tar and their advisors, unique to the soul of the aspirant. In this matter of divine measure, one is tested beyond their limits and forced into the edges of their sanity’s threshold so that, if they emerge, they do so forever remade. If a Knight believes themselves capable of this path, they must first seek to announce it boldly before the Royal Court. Upon heavy rumination, the Tar may accept the prospect and allow them to pursue the ascension.

Armaments of the Holy

It is required that all Thalion Knights don the sacred Armor of Idunia, which they shall never doff for other plates. It is an honor to bear its mark, a proud and golden radiant star emblazoned upon the center-plates alongside a winged helm harkening to the history of the Númenedain.
 

All Thalions, too, are expected to bear the banner of Idunia which shall be risen in battle and blessed by the courage of Malchediael. It is expected too that a Templar shall bear a relic of divine importance or power, an implement which shall aid them in their arduous obligations.
 

The Errant Knight’s Code, the chivalric foundation adopted by Idunia, reinterpreted the traditional knightly values one may presume. It has a historical relevance, having originated from the Harvest Revolution wherein most Knights had sided with the Royalty over the commonfolk. Tar-Númenatâr, then known simply as Ser Uther, was unlike most Knights. Instead, he gathered a band of warriors who would seek Knighthood through merit, tenets which would carry forth into the Kingdom of Númendil.
 

In adherence to these principles, the clause of the Last Rite of Kings was included within the founding of Idunia’s predecessor. Therein, it is stated that it is the duty of all Knights to return a monarch to the light if they are swayed by darkness or, in failing that, raise their arms in open rebellion. It becomes the responsibility of the Knights to reinforce the righteous conduct of their rulers.
 

If the Tar is dethroned by the Last Rite of Kings, the line of succession is still preserved and the Crown is to be delivered unto the Heir. In the case that there is no Heir, or they too have fallen into darkness, it is left to the High Chancellor or the eldest Knight for a term of regency. This regent-period may end when the leaders of the Knightly Order determine the correct course forth in adherence to the principles of Idunia, the history of Númendil, and the sanctity of the faith.

THE SIEGE OF VALLAGNE

12th of the First Seed, 247 S.A.

Vallagne had been made vulnerable when the Mountain first encroached upon the lands of Aevos, ambushed by a storm which had surged above. The warriors of Idunia, though especially those of the Petra, mounted a defense in the short duration that was afforded to them. All who answered the call were willing to spill their blood for the cause. Yet, as valiant an attempt as was endeavored, the city fell to the influence of Orsathiael and the homes of many were ripped away from them.

As the Radiant Guard rallied to defend each consecutive vassal that found itself in the path of the storm, it was Archduke Therin who was appointed to the reconquest of his lands. In deliberate and measured scouting operations, the weaknesses of the Mountain’s control upon his city were analyzed. When the preparations and men were secured, the soldiers marched to retake the lost city. Unwavering, the Adunian marched to bolster the force of their neighbor's lands.

From the Capital did the forces of Idunia march, having assembled within the evergreens nearest to Ildon to prepare their assault. The banners of Angrenost and Tir-Glas converged with those of the Green Haven, led by the commanders of these vassals into the storm-ridden riverlands. Fearlessly did they march across the damaged bridge into Vallagne, cleaving through the swarm of scourge that attempted to abate them. Even the aspirants proved their mettle, the young Castamir Mithrenion and Anrûthion Vourkehardt springing into action to reinforce the ambushed vanguard. Finally, as their cannonshot shattered open the wall, it was the Adunian that poured into the city first to settle a foothold within the once bustling square.

The other half of the forces were led by the Archduke himself, seeking to reclaim his people’s city. The fearless riverfolk were lambasted by the Mountain’s forces immediately, though they would not resile. Even after the expulsion of the bound thralls at the hands of the Petrans, the return to their once-home was delayed once more as the shadow-boar which originated from Childeok crashed into their path. Cannonballs thundered towards the beast, expelled from cannon and even the mighty swing of Matthew Galken. The warriors of the Petra were fierce enough to send the beast away, allowing them passage into their city once more.

As both sides of the Númenedain army convened, the Mountain sourced its last stand of wraiths and puppeted servants in endless volleys. The central chain which bound the city from earth to storm was the target of the remaining liberators. The bombastic song of liberty echoed through each street of Vallagne as impact after impact shattered away at the chains until they finally cracked into mere fragments. Thus, The Jewel of the Petra was unchained and Idunia was whole once more.

THERIN’S ADDRESS

“Six years have passed since Vallagne was torn from our hands. Six years of exile, of long marches and harder battles. In every year we carried the weight of loss, yet we never surrendered our hope.

Now, by the courage of our people, that hope has been made true. For four long days we fought through blood and fire, stone by stone and street by street, until at last the chains of our enemy fell and Vallagne was freed. 

Know this: Vallagne is not a prize of war but a home restored. She belongs not to conquerors but to her people, to the mothers who will once more light their hearths, to the children who will laugh in her squares, and to the faithful who will raise prayers within her halls.

May this victory stand not as the end of hardship but as the dawn of renewal. Together we endured six years of struggle. Together we fought four days of fire. And together we will see Vallagne rise again.

Yet let none grow complacent. Though Vallagne is ours, our foe still lingers beyond her walls. Its shadow endures, and the fight is not finished. We must keep our swords sharp and our spirits steadfast, for the day will come when they strike again, and when they do, we shall be ready.”
