Maria returned to the Chateau, or whatever was left of it by now with a heavy sigh, hearing the news of her uncles passing. She walked to the basement full of caskets, to where her own rested, empty. 

A wicked grin painted her face as she laid a wilted rose on the top of her casket.

IV. Be allowed to deputize a two, non-uniformed person.

That these four offices, in conjunction with the Lord Mayor [who themselves shall bear no formal office or post separate from his ownership of the private property from which the municipality derives], comprise and be referred to in corporation as the Town Council, who shall together serve as the municipality’s executive body, responsible for its operation, and that this executive shall not be construed as possessing the powers of a legislature [that is, a law-maker], but shall instead operate through the application of the law of Our Crown and Counsellors as well as through the delegated statutory authority We explicitly establish by the aforementioned articles of this writ. 

That through this charter the Municipality of Redenford is obligated to maintain active participation within the Imperial Diet through the aforementioned Diet Representative that shall serve in the Municipal Government of Redenford. The Diet Representative must be chosen by through a popular election from the residents of Redenford and must not hold any titular peerages. And that failure by the Municipality of Redenford to maintain this obligation will render the Lord Mayor in poor standing with regards to this charter and liable for dismissal by Our Crown.

That the Municipality of Redenford is not permitted to maintain an unsanctioned local militia, or employ non-state sponsored military or para-military forces. Provisions are available to the Municipality of Redenford to have a brigade within the Imperial State Army created or deployed to the township to serve as the primary defense force within the area. Such provisions must be requested by the Lord Mayor to the Chief of War and the Archchancellor of the Imperial Government, for the formulation and approval of an appropriate course of action that will lead to the formation of local defense forces.

That the Municipality of Redenford is not permitted to perform any unsanctioned construction, alteration, or demolition of locally established military structures or defensive fortifications. Sanctioned actions may be granted by the Chief of War or the Archchanceller at the request of the Lord Mayor. Any and all military structures, defensive structures, or strongholds present within the local area are officially owned by the Imperial State Army, and that members of the Imperial State Army may not be denied access or usage of such structures.

After several years of undergoing construction, it is with great pleasure and honor that Lord Stahl-Elendil, Proprietor of Redenford, announces the formal opening and settling of residences within the municipality.

In honor of St. Thomas and the prosperity of the countryside, the Proprietor hereby extends a warm invitation to all citizens of the Holy Orenian Empire, to the first Grand Festival of Redenford. 

Take time to enjoy the booze and merriment as you set your eyes on the farms of the South.

THE MACE CATCHING

To honor the ancestry of Proprietor Lord Stahl-Elendil, a competition of mace catching will be held. Each participant will be given two opportunities to catch four toy maces. The person who catches the most will be the winner of the competition, and will be given a small mace-shaped locket by Lord Stahl-Elendil himself.

THE GRAND TOURNAMENT

During the short-lived rebellion of Sedan, many valiant heroes of the Empire defended this same small outpost under the mountains. In recognition of these warriors, Redenford will host a showcase of the Empire’s mightiest fighters. Participants will enter in groups of three as they spar in the town square, the denizens Redenford watching.

The winning group of this tournament will be titled as the Defenders of Redenford, prized with 20 minas each.

THE BOAT RACE

The River Reden, surrounding the small town, has served as a source of freshwater for the large expanse of numerous patches of farms of the municipality, connecting the lands of Cathalon and Rosemoor to Redenford.

As such, a boat race will be held, spanning from the front of Redenford, to the shore of Cathalon - but with a twist. Before the sailors embark on the race, they will have to drink two bottles of Armas whiskey beforehand. The winner of this race will be awarded with a statue on the edge of the docks.

It is hereby noted that any affiliating injuries caused by their participation is not held liable by the organizers of  this event. Race at your own discretion.

THE ARCHER’S TILT

Residents of Upper Petra are keenly known for their eyesight and sharp aim. In order to test one’s sharpness of aim, an archery competition will be held, where competitors will take three shots at a target.

The best scorer will be given the Silver Arrow of Redenford for their marksmanship, alongside a prize of 15 minas.

I have been given the responsibility to serve as your humble Magistrate, and as such, I shall perform my duties without reservation against politic and remorse. That this land, that has changed hands so often it may as well have never been given, is in the state it is, is an example of the failure of the men given it. You, too, have suffered difficulty in it's development, from a lack of parties interested, or otherwise, I cannot say.

All these things, I can forgive. That I write you now is evidence of this. As your Magistrate, and your Prince, I shall be fair and stable, and make yourself my partner in our endeavor to create, should you also make me yours. Yet there must be stipulation to this, that without I can have no faith that we may resolve the poisons of past attempts and become truly together and truly in dedication.

You do all things in service to the state, Lord Stahl-Elendil, and I am eternally grateful to this, as was my dear Imperial mother. I, too, served the state in the Army for nearly twenty-five years before I departed to work only in the service of God. And so I ask you this, relieve the burden of soul from this place so without Him. Let nothing stand in Redenford before a monument to God, and share with me in His glory. 

Tear this old Redenford down, and there should be no nail hammered in a new Redenford until a Church is built and consecrated in whole, and that that Church be named for my deceased and most holy father, James II.
